This a great place for a boozy brunch, we had the £39 which includes 7 cold meze, 2 hot any main course and dessert with 2 hours of unlimited drink. The quality of the food was great it was all really tasty. All the meze dishes were really moreish and the octopus I got for my main was superb. The waitress who served was a super star. Very attentive and alway made sure we had a drink. There were 4 of us drinking procecco and were given a massive bottle to drink between us. We had got through a number of bottles in the 2 hour time limit. There was so much food, they gave us containers to take the left overs home with us. We had a great time and we'll definitely go back again.

Cute place with good quality food. The reason for giving them a 3/5 is due to how slow service was. Even though the place was not that busy it took 15 minutes for them to take our order and an hour before food came out to the table so that wasn’t the greatest. Also, 4 staff were present but none of them appeared to be doing much for some reason. Also, oil on the tzatziki is not appropriate, it was too oily. They must have confused it with hummus.

Wow! This place has sky rocketed since new management took over in August last year. Extremely well priced for the quality, this is posher Turkish food with a nice selection and daily specials. The chicken breast in creamy sauce with roasted vegetables was deceptively delicious and a generous portion. The king prawn starter was also excellent

Very tasty Mediterranean food! Labelled as Turkish restaurant but it has much more, so I would actually call it Mediterranean. Seating may seem small at first if you view the store from outside, but there is extensive seating further into the restaurant so if you have groups of more than 4, you don’t need to worry about being cramped. Though to note, it’s not always available as events may be booked. Prices are fair for the portions you get, even if they seem small they will make you full! Beverages are on the higher end as it is with most restaurants, and alcohol is also available. Payments can be made in cash and card. You are treated with mints after your meal which is a nice touch, as the food could leave you with a smelly breath. Overall a nice restaurant, and definitely one to visit if you love Mediterranean food

Absolutely amazing place! Had my birthday party here, downstairs and had the best experience. The venue was just right, Andy the manager is exceptional taking care of our every need making sure me and my guests were looked after and having a great time. Johnny the bar man was brilliant and the food buffet we ordered went down extremely well, not forgetting the amazing DJ Champs who caters for your every music need and banged out the tunes!! Wow what an amazing restaurant this was. We came to try out a local restaurant for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, and were bowled over by the friendly service, delicious food and incredible portion sizes. For those worrying about dining in Covid-times (this was our first experience), fear not, we were impressed with their measures. Tables were very spaced out, windows were nice and open and the restaurant had hand sanitiser widely available from entry. To cap it off, when you're stuffed from a delicious meal with drinks (+extra food to take home) for a fiver a head this is fantastic!

Not only is the food here of good quality and prepared wonderfully but the staff are friendly, warm and generous. Plus the lunchtime menu of 2 courses for under a tenner is a bargain. The plates are sized generously, the options interesting and the resulting dishes flavour packed treats. I recommend the liver, it is adictively good; (I requested it prepared pink which it was and it was delicious) with cumin, whilst the pork belly brings 2 large pieces and is a moist as one could desire. The starters of prawns, salad and more are healthy delights. Don´t delay, you´ll love it I´m sure. Thanks to all involved. all the best Catherine

Most precious things are hidden... diamonds, pearls and this wonderful restaurant GEM is one hidden Gem. I have to give praise for a amazing time for my son's 30th birthday celebrations at this outstanding restaurant. 9 of us came and the experience was excellent. The manager Andy is one in a million so friendly and made the day extra special by the special attention to detail. He made us feel at home as with the other guest. Complements to the chef. The food was outstanding very tasty and delicious and the staff were very nice and hardworking. We definitely will be coming back for more find dining and birthday celebrations. Ordered from here on two occasions. My wife ordered a mixed grill, it was as expected, very good decent portion size. I ordered octopus, came with fries and salad. Octopus was chargrilled and was great. Portion sizes were decent too !

I had two different experiences with this s restaurant in 2018. When we had a large group booking in September and booked the whole basement for the evening the service was incredibly slow, some people didn't eat in the end because their food arrived so late. Then in November I came with a group of 6 and ate everything was fine. In both cases the food was good and the prices reasonable.

Amazing for large groups of people. I went there with 6 people and we all got the set menu with all you can drink for 2 hours. The staff was attentive and quick, the food was delicious and it was definitely worth the price. I reccomend this to everyone! Will definitely be returning!

Starters were nice (prawns were delicious) but the mains were a bit bland and nothing to shout about. The kleftiko was served in a watery broth which literally didn't taste of anything, and the Greek platter for 1 was pretty standard but the sausages were quite dry. All in all was OK but glad we had a taste card because wouldn't have wanted to pay full price!

It was alright, I went there for a work donin the function room downstairs so I can't really comment on the full restaurant experience. I turned up late as I left work late and there was no chair for me. They had an installed sound system with a dj position downstairs so the boss could do silly games with the staff so that was nice. The food was minimal, not up to kervan portions but a similar style, I also missed the starters so didn't fill up on bread. Decent helpful staff but terrible cocktails all involving too much coconut and pineapple based ingredients. Not much more to say really.

One of the best places to eat most delicious Turkish food, very reasonably priced (correction - cheap!) , great atmosphere and service. The food is really well cooked and healthy. I've been coming here regularly for over 10 years - and I've never been disappointed - neither has anyone I've ever taken here. Free and freshly made Turkish filled flat bread as soon as you sit down and a complementary desert at the end of your meal. I usually go for a selection of meze starters allow 3 - 4 per person ....

One of the best Turkish food restaurants in the are. You have to try the Iskender Lamb and any dish aubergine based. Their ingredients are fresh,meat melts in the mouth and they have a good wine selection too. Service is good too. Definitively worth a visit.

Very close to giving this 5 stars and I may upgrade in future. The staff made an effort to accommodate us despite being seemingly full. I had the mixed kebab as it was my first time in the restaurant, and the mixed cold mezze for starter. Taboulleh was off the scale, honestly astonishing. The rest of the dips were good, the bread was fantastic. It was difficult to resist filling myself up before my meat had arrived. When it did I was really happy (and a little intimidated) with the portion size. Both the minced chicken and lamb kebabs were fantastic, the lamb sis and cutlets too. The only things that was less than excellent were the chicken sis and wings. This might reflect my taste more than anything. Or perhaps it was an indicator of the quality of everything else. I wish I'd had space for afters as the menu looked pretty vibey. The only thing stopping it getting 5 stars is the price, because I have definitely eaten the same quality food for less elsewhere. And I'm a cheapskate. But if you come here you will have an excellent meal. Of that there is no doubt.

it was "The Hidden Gem" which was basement floor to the Gem Resturant. i went there for a Birthday meal, which had a DJ and bar. seating area was very nice food. i am very particular (although i dine out a lot) ordered as part of a party/group set menu B. the food was on point and it was … 35GBP which included free flowing drinks of House Beer, Wine and over 7 Cocktail variations for 2 hours. i thought it was value for money as i manage to enjoy food, my company the DJ was brilliant, he cater to the crowd/party. well done guys.

Came here a few years ago when newly opened but this time everything is much better - quality and choice. We ordered the mini platter with various sushi, sashimi, crab salad, and also gyoza, and all three tempura including soft shell crab, Ramen and unagi rice.Pros- freshly made sushi and sashimi were very good, as well as salads. Tempura were crispy enough - the soft shell crab well done. Unagi eel rice tasty as ever and gyoza well done with soft thin skin covering a tasty filling.Cons - the ramen stock was a bit saltier although noodles were nice.Gyoza did not arrive first time with main order. Overall an enjoyable meal, reasonably price d. Will come back in future!

We were looking for dinner at late notice and found Gem on Google. When we arrived, Gözleme was being made just next to the front door. It was a welcoming sight. It was even more welcoming when 2 batches arrived at the table for free! We shared some falafel for starter which was very tasty and crispy. For main course I had chargrilled quail which was amazingly tasty. My wife an extremely tender lamb stew and my sister enjoyed her diced lamb very much. The 'Turkish desserts' were really nice and just the right size after the plentiful main courses. The service throughout the evening was extremely courteous, humourous and attentive. The food was also exceptionally good value. It certainly didn't feel like 'London prices'. The ambience was perfect and the furnishings tasteful. Put simply, we will definitely be going back. Gem is a lovely family-run restaurant serving delicious traditional and modern Turkish and Kurdish food. A stone's throw from Highbury & Islington and Angel stations, it's always a pleasure to sit down to one of their freshly cooked meals after a hard day in the office. The staff are friendly and welcoming providing a suitably relaxed atmosphere. I always take visiting friends and family to this place as I know we'll get a wonderful meal and great service. Plenty of vegetarian options too!
