Reviews of Gokyuzu Restaurant

The restaurant itself was lovely. Very welcoming, warm and friendly. I ordered a mixed kebab with rice n salad. Way too much meat which was quite dry and gristly, tiny rice portion and I'm still waiting 4 my salad!!! Cocktails were lovely though.

Great food, lovely atmosphere, amazing and friendly staff. The meat was cooked amazing! Over all very happy and definitely will be back!

This place needs no introduction. I fancied some Turkish with the boys, so we went out.
It would’ve been unacceptable if we didn’t get some of the trad starters: hummus, lahmachun and calamari. As for the mains, we got the full platter. Naturally, we got baklava and kunefe for desserts. I went for the pink breeze mocktail.
The hummus was pretty damn nice - creamy and smooth texture with a lot of flavour: chickpeas, garlic, lemon and olive oil, topped off with some pomegranates. That was a nice touch. The bread served was also soft, which made it moreish (beware - if you devour too much at the beginning you will struggle to finish anything later!).
The lahmachun was delicious - paper thin base which was soft yet crispy, and the seasoned mince was just so succulent and bursting with the flavours. I could’ve had 5 of those alone.
The fried calamari was nice - the breaded costing was a little bit too golden for my liking, but the meat itself was very tasty, especially with the garlic mayo sauce.
Now the full platter is a mammoth feast - everything about it was phenomenal. All meats cooked beautifully, although the doners were the exception (being tough for my liking). My only conundrum was that this dish defeated the 3 of us - if there’s 4-6 people, I’d say this is a sensible platter to purchase; otherwise, especially if you’re getting starters and dessert - it’ll be a tough task to crack.
The baklava was so fresh and incredible - paper thin filo, well sweetened and balanced with the pistachio (crushed). The kunefe was my favourite, however. It was super crispy and the cheese contrasted it very well, with a healthy balance of sweet and savoury.
The staff were super friendly and welcoming, tending to every need and preserving a lovely atmosphere. The establishment itself is pretty big, so there’s a lot of space and the layout is good. It has a nice decor and vibe which really adds life to the place. It is quite a pricey spot, nonetheless, so it’s not something I’d be popping out for on the regs - the portions of the starters could be larger, imho.
As I said at the start - Gokyuzu is infamous and it’s evident as to why they are. 9/10.

I’ve tried many Turkish restaurants in the past as well as the Gokyuzu on Green lane and A406. Both of them have the taste of charcoal lighter fluid. Whilst you get a lot for your money I wasn’t satisfied with the taste. Having said that the service was very friendly and the manager gracefully cancelled the plater

Can’t fault it. The food is all very tasty and the portions are huge. The staff were very friendly and attentive, I had food envy all night watching all the amazing looking dishes they were bringing out. Would definitely recommend.

Amazing food!! Prices are so good and big quantities- we ordered a family bundle which had the full platter and small mixed mezze. Shared between 6 people! Staff were very friendly and also gave us complimentary tea!
W.
My favourite restaurant in London! The service and food quality is amazing! Me and my fitness came here 2 days in a row and both times exceeded our expectations. We got the breakfast for two and shakshuka eggs which were incredible. Not to mention the friendly staff that are quick and care about the customers! 5 star highly recommend and will be back here again!

Big and busy restaurant on Green lanes. The food is delicious. They bring you bread and sides pretty much as soon as you sit down giving you time to have a look at the menu. The portions are generous and they are happy to box up any left overs so you have a next day treat. Dont expect super attentive service, as it gets so busy you do have to flag down the staff but it's worth it for the food and it is a speedy delivery to your table. I enjoy a leisurely meal but if your on a tight time scale avoid weekend evenings, but in general this is huge recommend!
E. R.
The best Turkish food you will probably have in London. Amazing flavours in the meats, staff are friendly and helpful. You get complimentary salad and tea. A must try if you like Turkish food. We always go there even if it's a long journey it's well worth it!
Another thing to note is their excellent Turkish breakfast, one to try for sure!
A. N.
Phenomenal! This is an absolutely fantastic restaurant. The food and staff are just wonderful! Definitely coming here again, and I recommend it to everyone!

A very good Turkish restaurant with a lot of great food. Wonderful döner and other kebaps. Delicious mezes, we can't stop eating 😋 Kunefe was also good. The prices are good. The staff is very friendly and kind. Turkish tea was excellent. You can also taste good Turkish beer 🍺

THE ONLY REASON AN EAST LONDON GIRL WILL TRAVEL TO NORTH 🤣
Gokyuzu is my favorite Turkish place in London. I‘ve grown up in Germany so I was naturally surrounded by the friendly Turkish community and their food. I did not have to sacrifice this when I moved to London and found my favorite go to place for Turkish food.
My favorite dishes:
• Manti
• Chicken Shish
• Lahmacun
S. S.
Good customer service and food. We ordered 4 main dishes but was unable to finish all of them as the portions were quite big.
S. G.
Love love loveeeee this place! Regulary have breakfast here. Wonderful atmosphere, fantastic staff, beautiful decor and so clean!
R. K.
Great service and great food! Generous portions and high quality meat.
H. M.
Have tried many turkish restaurants in London but nothing beats Gokyuzu. Hands down one of the best turkish restaurant ever, everything tastes so good.
S. B.
Couldn't say anything bad about the taste of the food, but the portioning is quite tight.
They held a good celebratory birthday song for a family member and brought out our cake. So an extra star for that.
A. T.
Fantastic Turkish food with an authentic feel at a good price. I've visited Gokyuzu many times now and there's nothing better than a fresh salad and warm bread being brought to the table within a few minutes. After trying all the vegetarian items on the menu I can safely say that the vegetarian kebab is the best. The vegetables are always charred to perfection and cooked in a delicious marinade sauce, it is also served with yogurt/hummus and rice. It's a hearty meal that will keep you going for a while! Fantastic!
M.
If you want to try a delicious Turkish food, this is the place! The quality of the meats are so good, their service is great and the taste of the food is awesome! I’ll definitely come back to this restaurant again… Highly recommended
M. H.
Fantastic food and great service. Been there a couple of times and they still have maintained high standards with their food and their customer service.
Definitely recommend
R. S.
Great food. Beautiful decor. Amazing staff!

Outstanding food, fresh, tasty, well presented and good price. Staff always welcoming and deco is nice. A good ambience. Can also be taken away.

Enjoyed our evening food was delicious, very busy, great crowds and the vibes is awesome celebrated a friend's 60th Birthday they played happy birthday and everyone was clapping and it made my friend's day special. Thank you so much.

My favourite Turkish restaurant in London. Amazing and friendly service, huge portions and great food. Always leave one dress size bigger than I came in. The cocktails are great too and the atmosphere is warm, lively and welcoming.
E. V.
Everything here is super delicious 🤤 This is a mixed platter, if you are not sure what to order. Definitely recommend to get this and it’ll help to know what to order next. 🙌🏻 The staff is on top of taking care of their customers. Quick and prompt to help you out. Enjoyed their tea a lot. Came as a complimentary, as well as the salad and bread. Couldn’t believe at first that it came as an appetizer on the house. My number one place to go now. Thank you! Coming back soon!

Friday night, early evening.. not that busy yet ...Would be nice if the hostess smiled when I arrived, as it looked to me like my pre booked reservation was a pain to deal with. She wasn't rude per se but just very matter of fact and there was no warmth. I suggest treating new people the same as the regulars..thats how they turn into regulars.
To start, thought I would try the Manti which were described as tiny lamb dumplings. Very disappointed. With what I got, .dont order if you expect anything like a dumpling..my bad i guess, I should've looked up a picture online, but I thought knowing what a dumpling was, was enough..not with this order. I didn't eat it as it just wasn't a starter, it looked like a pasta side for two people.
Only 3 out of the 4 lamb chops were cooked well as one had split in half but was just place back on top. I recieved the rice and salad but didn't get the bulgar wheat or long green pepper which I've always got as part of the meal when buying as a takeaway. Maybe they don't do it in the restaurant but having had it for every takeaway order for the same price for years, again felt like why not?
I ordered a Tiramisu, which was fine and some Tarama to go. When I got home I noticed I only got one piece of pitta bread, again when I've ordered on line (for one person) I've recieved two pieces which Is enough to finish the tub. What I got wasn't enough..if I'd known I wouldn't have ordered.
When I got the bill, i was happy and grateful they did not charge me for the. Manti, that was a nice touch, as although I feel my idea of a dumpling was nothing like what's on the plate, i didn't ask or expect not to pay so thankyou for the generosity of spirit on this.
The servers were proficient and did their job well but I was served by so many different people It didn't feel personal at all. I enjoy having a connection with the waiting staff, it makes the dining experience so much nicer.
Have ordered takeaways from them for years and enjoyed but it wasnt the same as (a single person) eating in. I thought my first visit was going to be so much better. I left disappointed.
The place does a roaring trade, so my review won't even touch the sides but where I would've recommended this place before to sit in even just on the takeaways, and others online reviews , based on my experience I wouldn't want people to be disappointed.
I absolutely believe every reviewer when they don't give five stars and are surprised their experience didn't match them.
Conclusion: I get more bang for my buck for the same price when I order a takeaway.
Might try again later in the year, but also going to try and find another place for my comfort grills.

Really great place. Fast friendly staff, delicious food very well presented. We had a mixed meat sharing platter, of course everything comes with a beautiful salad, bread and a dipping sauce. Personally I think there lamb was a little chewy, but everyone else loved it. 3rd time here, the portions are fantastic. Good atmosphere and surroundings. Highly recommended
G.
Delightful experience! A short wait gave way to a wonderful evening. Being a group of six, they extended a table to accommodate us all and our order was taken within minutes.
Complimentary fresh, hot bread with tsatsiki dip and beautifully seasoned salad was provided, preceeding our main course that arrived soon after.
The food was fantastic, and we all ate heartily, enjoying every bite, thoroughly satisfied. I highly recommend trying the garlic sauce provided at the table; its amazing!
Staff was polite and punctual, and ensured our every need was catered for.
Overall, a great dining experience and I would recommend to anyone in the area looking for a delicious end to an evening!
A. G.
Great experience, nice cocktails delicious food and brilliant service 🙏thank you
S. C.
Went there Christmas Day. Busy, busy, busy place. Kitchen works flat out. Table service is super quick but polite. Fillers like flat bread, salad and minted yogurt come with the menus and then the dishes come quickly after ordering. As usual we ordered too much but when the kitchen, smells and sights hit your senses you just want to try everything. Highly recommended.
Z. A.
My favourite Turkish restaurant in London, they do delicious food. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great very big for families, friends celebrating birthday . Great service and the staff are very quick, highly recommended.
E. U.
The most tastiest mixed grill with charcoal flavour. The Kunefeh was also outstanding. The bread and dip and salad before the meal was on the house and also the Turkish tea. Quality of food, ambience and service was all 5 stars
Z. K.
Really friendly staff, huge portions delicious mezze and a pretty substantial menu to keep everyone at the table happy! Lovely hot Turkish tea and bread is also provided free of charge once you settle in 🙂
F. M.
Amazing food, very nice staff! If you're around Turnpike lane you should go!
Also nice prices
H. A.
The restaurant to begin with was beautiful. Well decorated, large seating area. You walk in to a fresh aroma of a charcoal grill and the mouth watering food being made.
The complimentary salad was to die for in my opinion.
I do not eat meat, but I could tell the meat was so juicy. Those I was with fawned over the meat, everyone loved it! The appetizers I had that were vegan were delicious, and the complimentary bread is amazing!
I highly recommend, especially if looking for a halal restaurant with lots of options! However, I might not necessarily recommend for a vegan as there were very few options for me. Nonetheless, I absolutely cannot deny how high quality the food was!

Wow 🤩, as regular diner of international cuisine Turkish Food is in my top 10 of cuisines... I’ve dined many times in Green Lanes but for the first time visiting Gokyuzu with my family for Brunch was truly a beautiful moment as the service, food and environment was 5***** experience for us all.
Well done to the young man and young lady who served us, truly amazing and thank you both for sharing your love.
We will see you all again, and for now you sit on top of my Restaurant Listing 🥰
Oh, not to forget the restaurant decor and colours are beautiful too
V. G.
The kind of restaurant you want fine dining ones to be. It is formal but not pretentious. You can sit and talk and its loud enough but not noisy.
You are welcomed with a portion of bread, tatziki and salad on the house.
Portions are huge. Large groups obviously benefit as they can share multiple dishes.
Their kebab platters looked amazing and I will definitely try them with a larger group.
Do try black tea at end of meal.
And also, they let you pack the food you cannot finish to take away with you :-)
G. O.
Best freshest ingredients simple grilled platters king prawns. Been going for years. Would recommend to all. Very good value for money
P. B.
Mixed mezza 👌🏻 the best Mediterranean good in london and tea
R. Y.
Amazing food and great customer service. Have never experienced such quality food anywhere else.
M. K.
Once again, I dined at Gokyuzu Harringey yesterday. The food was very tasty and fresh.
The service is always very friendly and attentive. The manager, Ender always makes sure you are looked after well.
k. Z.
Went with a friend last Saturday afternoon. I ordered Iskender kabab; the doner meat had over grilled hard shreds of meat. The tomato sauce dressing was thick. No raw or cooked vegetables included. The worst part was that the staff at the BBQ counter were noisy in their communication, reminded me of the historic public Turkish bath. The portion was too large to justify the high price charged.
S. G.
I went here for breakfast with my family, some of whom visit here regularly. They recommended it and they were right. A great selection of traditional Turkish meals. They were happy to accommodate 10 of us aged 2-76, and we all found dishes we loved.
Good food, well prepared, good service and all reasonably priced.
O. S.
Food was very good as always but got way more expensive for the same or even little less portions than it used to be, last year or so. Due to eat out scheme had to wait for 40 min for table and than another 20 to place the order, but staff was friendly and tried to serve fast (it was just too crowdy) on top picture is hot meze for £16 which is not worth it, and bottop is their special mini lamb manti around 13 pounds and it was very delicious.
S. S.
Had my daughters 1st birthday here.
Service was great, food nice. Staff friendly. Bill came came and politely declined to pay service charge as I was already paying £300. No fuss like other places respectfully printed a new bill and happily finished serving us. Defo recomend. Thank you.
T. C.
Their food is amazing, the sharing platters can feed a whole family, not even kidding. Staff is quite attentive, could be a tad friendlier but when it’s that busy makes sense. In no way are they rude or anything like that. Complementary salad, pita bread and yogurt dip the moment you sit at the table, as it’s used to at most Turkish restaurants. Would recommend for big and hungry groups 100%
S. M.
Loved the flavours of the food, but it is extremely busy and service was a bit slow in terms of taking the finished plates back. But food came quickly.
Portions are extremely small and pricey… not sure I’d go again.
But overall delicious. Thank you!
I. A.
It's okaaay... Nothing special. Didn't help that I was sat with my 2 children and wife on the next table to the 2 most foul mouthed individuals I've ever heard..!
The place was just waaay toooo noisy, service was pretty quick which was a good thing cos couldn't wait to get out of there.! The food was decent, proberly wouldn't go again.
O. R.
Family of 5, well it is very pricy ,but the food is very nice. And kids happy =) so yes will be back the for special occasions! Everyone happy fish& seafood lovers and meat lover oh yes one of my daughters a vegetarian and loved it to(heart)
K. O.
Lost my order so we had to eat our meals at different times, apologised but still tried to add the 10% service charge. Food was as expected, not the best and and not the worst Turkish food.
d.
Mr Murat and staff dealt with us fantastically tonight. They kept the kitchen open just for us at midnight and served us the best turkish food in London.
P. M.
Probably the best Turkish restaurant in London. Great portion size of Mixed kebab! More than enough for two. This has been our regular place to haunt since we found it a few years ago. It deserves a 5 stars. It’s better to come on weekdays cos at weekends they will be very busy!
J. L.
Superb...attentive staff and lively atmosphere.. big portions...very tasty...well done guys.
S. B.
Excellent service and well coocked turkish food. Hassan, the waiter took care of us, always checking all was ok.
The kunafeh was delicious, you must try it😋
K. R.
This place is the best Turkish restaurant full stop, the food is incredible the service is really good I went from Leeds based on an recommendation by friend and it worth every mile
W. R.
Went here for my birthday, been a few times before too. Never disappointed with their food. The meat is so tender and soft thats all I go for. Service was good, overall one of my fav places to eat.
M. R. (.
Went here for dinner for the second time and I have to say best Turkish food I have eaten, if you are looking for food, tasty and authentic food no place other then Gökyüzü
I have the Iskender Kebap and, it was so tasty must admit a very big portion wasn’t able to finish it all but did get a takeaway box. Also had the Kinafe 👌🏼👌🏼
The food served here is halal حلال

S. B.
Went for my daughters graduation dinner the staff were really nice the food delicious and they put sparklers on the cake we had bought for her we had a wonderful evening will be sure to visit again
M. S.
The food was great and the portions very generous. The food was so good that part of my group ordered also take aways to bring home to their kids. This says it all! Service was quick and smooth. You can tell they are very well organized and they can cope easily when it gets busy.
H. S.
Has to be the best Turkish in town!
Recently went again with the family on my trip to UK after the lockdowns and happy to say that the quality is still being kept!
K. D.
It was very busy, with two very loud "Happy Birthday" sung. We didn't mind, but bear it in mind if you want a romantic dinner or a quiet date. The service was quite fast and polite. The food was nice, not spectacular, my chicken shish would do with a couple of minutes more on a grill. My son's one had some rubbery (veins?) part in. Maybe if it wasnt's so busy or if we ordered lamb chops or sth else, we would see a difference, but we ordered what we usually like most and the quality or taste was hmmm comparing to my usual, cheaper restaurant. Also, the bread, salad and tzatziki were served straight after we sat down, before we even ordered our dishes. Then we read our dishes will be served with rice and salad. The only salad on a plate was a quarter of a tomato and a green pepper. So save your starter salad for a main dish, as there is no more coming. We went there (I mean a long planned trip) as we read so many great reviews, but if you know a good Turkish restaurant already that is likely cheaper, then don't bother.
A. A.
Nice parking on site , polite and helpful staff . Very good starters and meat was very tasty and cooked well . We ordered the full platter as we wanted to taste verity and was worth it . Good restaurant , would recommend and return again well done and thanks for a good experience . My new go to Turkish restaurant. Had no issues at all . i would recommend the platter and large mixed meze but can be a little bit pricey ... if so then just the platter would do .
I.
By far the best Turkish food I've tasted! My favourite dish was the mushroom halloumi- I absolutely loved it! It was really jam packed with flavour that hit the spot! I enjoyed the mixed shish, both the lamb were nice and tender, had flavour and didn't just taste like charcoal. Similarly, the mixed doner was delicious and it didn't just taste like oil. I loved the Turkish hot sauce, honestly was the best one I've ever had. The complimentary Turkish bread when you first arrive was nice, which was served with a sort of pickled yogurt sauce that tasted so good. The interior of the restaurant compliments the food! The Turkish tea was tasty too! Only thing I would say needs improving is the size of the plates for the mains. The portion is perfect but the plates are too big so your plate looks sort of empty. However,I look forward to coming back.
J. C.
Excellent service and generous portion sizes. Food was delicious and staff were very helpful when I was ordering for me and eight of my colleagues.
S. H.
Excellent service and high quality food. Book a table in advance though!
M. F.
It's okay. Service was fine although you do pay 10% optional service charge tagged onto your bill. So watch out for that before tap and pay. Which is a lot for something optional that staff won't mention. Incidentally I paid it but that's different to a tip. For 1 starter, 2 mains and a bottle of water (£4.50!) there was no change from £50. It's not cheap this place. Which I wouldn't mind but it's not spectacular food. Nice ambience inside and staff are friendly but food I'd rate as average. I have experienced better and for less cost in the vicinity and beyond. My table kept rocking, which is a real bug bear of mine until i folded a menu and wedged it under a table leg. Management should check these things regularly. The problem doesnt solve itself and it does affect your eating if you're trying to cut your food. Parking outside on a main road is a bit tricky but that has no reflection in my rating of the restaurant. Fair selection of vegetarian but not sure if it serves halal as signs weren't visible and nothing mentioned on menus. Other than the decor and rocking table, nothing stands out for remembering.
N.
One of my favourite places to visit for Turkish. Their meat is always cooked to perfection and isn’t dry at all. They give complimentary salad and warm breads with dips to start. My favourite dish is the Sarma lamb beyti. Also their rice pudding dessert is a must try!
C. H.
Excellent service and delicious food! Mr Murat and staff gave us an amazing experience, definitely recommend!
W. W.
Excellent authentic Turkish food and great value for money. Nice clean restaurant and lovely atmosphere. The service attitude of some of the staff is a bit disappointing, but the food really makes up for it.
E. Y.
This must be one of the best Turkish grill meals I had out of Turkey. Everything was perfect, they give a huge free salad, with some warm/fresh bread an cacık up front, had good service, and offer good quality of food.
The starters of the restaurant are some kind of a modern version of traditional Turkish mezes. The taste is as delicious however. The meat was very tasty as well, the grill flavour was just perfect. I will definitely go again!
S. S.
The good:
The food was decent
The bad:
Took 20 mins to be asked for drinks and food
However We had to ask to be served so could of been longer
Their was 5 waiters just chatting watching us waiting to be served.
3 other tables came in after us and served before us and got better service
Everyone was miserable.
Only was quick service when asking for the bill.
C. P.
Food was incredibly tasty and generous portions. I have pictured one of the breakfast dishes, which they modified to make veggie. Their bread is yummy and given to you as you sit down.
A. J.
The yogurtlu adana was very tasty and the portion abundant. The chicken Shish was just good, nothing too special about it. The give you salad, tzatziki and bread for free however the 10% gratuity gets added to the bill automatically. The place was a bit too loud but staff was really quick.
N. G.
Delicious food!!! So worth it! Everything there is delicious! ❤️❤️❤️
M. L.
Amazing Turkish food! I recommend everything
S. C.
A legend! The best doner kebab, very tender and juicy. Even though the aubergine was overcooked (the skins were black and bitter), I still want to give this place a 5 stars!
B. V.
Food was amazing! Full of flavour. Staff are very nice and attentive. Prices are reasonable. Open till late. Complementary tea and desert after your meal.
A. T.
Can’t have enough of this Resturant with respect to the their verity and food it is amazing !
Truly Turkish truly flavourful, have tried so many Restaurants in London and Greater London and this stand out as far as the taste it’s top, it’s busy, spacious and local
If it is good quality and taste that you are after then don’t waste time.
It’s not a dressy place so go there with a big appetite !!!
A. G.
Rebuild new restaurant! Bigger than the previous one. Food quality excellent as before. Good for a lovely meal with family, friends and partner! Really recommended
P. G.
They renewed the place since I last was there a few years ago but, despite the overall bigger premises, the restaurant is still deliciously chaotic!
Reservations are not reccomended: you MUST book in advance if you want a chance to find a table.
Food is great and huge value for money.
You typically get pita bread with multiple sauces and salad for starter; the mains are mostly based on meat (the lamb is crazy good!).
After your meal, hot tea is served.
The only complaint I have is you can definitely feel the taste of firestarter in the grilled meat.
R. V.
I've been visiting Gokyuzu for years. Their quality and service remains impeccable, but they have gradually reduced portions and increased prices.
S. A.
Super busy but understand why because the food is SO good. Despite how busy it was the service was quick and friendly.
M. I.
We decided to have a Turkish breakfast today and chose to try this place for the first time as we tried most of the other Turkish restaurants around. They served fantastic Turkish tee, excellent appetisers such as salad and yoghurt dip. The bread was very tasty and I believe fresh. We also ordered Menemen (spicy dish made out of fried tomatoes, eggs and paprika) which was beautifully done. Unfortunately the lcli cofte (bulgur stuffed with minced meat) was tough and pide (pastry with cheese) was only ok. Please understand that I'm only rating hreakfast in this review

Another great Turkish restaurant where you can eat amazing food at a very good price and I'm sure you'll not be able to finish your meal if you take a mix grill for 2. Service is very good and food is amazing.. I wouldn't recommend to eat outside because for me, is too close to the street but they have space outside....a good place to go
O. L. M.
So happy to find manti, and they were really good. This is the starter portion and it was very generous.
Also tried the kebabs and lamacun, would love to have the option of the latter stuffed with salad/leaves.
A. U.
Good but not amazing. Bread and salad isn't the best quality and some dishes have way too much oil
The interior design is quite nice though
J. D.
Love the food here - always fresh always tasty! a little bit pricer than other places on the road but worth it!
R. G.
Meat great, but desserts are not. Had a lovely meal. £45 platter meal to share for 3 was great. Thought that we would have dessert...it said home made....banoffee pie and chocolate fudge cake...both were a real let down. No ice cream with fudge cake and banoffee tasted like cheesecake.
Really disappointing. Will defo come for food but will stay clear of the dessert.

Better Turkish grilled meat restaurants close by. Was expecting much more given positive reviews.
T. N.
Visited this restaurant at 9:00 this evening, the restaurant was busy and had a lovely atmosphere. We ordered the jumbo platter between four of us, four soft drinks and then four teas at the end of the meal. As you will see from the image of the receipt, it cost around £81 which worked out at £20 roughly per head.
As far as value for money goes I think it was excellent, plenty of food and variety in what we ordered. If you are new to the restaurant it is a great was to get a taster of the whole menu. The service was great the only down side was some of the meat was rather bland, but the sauces they provided compensated.
I would highly recommend this place if you are a carnivore. Happy eating!!!
A. A. O.
Amazing meal, and excellent service at a very good price. Will definitely go back or recommend it to my friends. Best thing is that I get to take the food I couldn't eat home 😋.

Hands down, my favourite Turkish restaurant in London. Quality food, good portion size and great service. What more can anyone ask for?!
T.
Since the refurbishment the service is awful. Get's annoying when your spending £150 on bog standard grilled food you can buy anywhere along Green lanes and 2-3 staff hanging over you like vultures grabbing empty plates when people have not stopped eating. Very very disappointing service from a army of staff. Being rude and using covid as an excuse to refuse to box up the fantastic portions you have not eaten while none of them are wearing a mask and then sticking a £12 service charge on your bill is just taking the p#ss.
A. G. J. S.
The first time I've tried turkish food and I loved it, it was awesome but we wanted to do a platter but three out of the four of us doesn't eat lamb, the waiter said he could only change one item which not convenient so we had to order chicken shisha individually. If you could consider a chicken platter in the future that would be nice, thank you. However , everything else was spot on, the service, ambience...Thanks for making my birthday special.
Z. O.
Good samples of Turkish food you can find in London...very nice ambience, and incredible staff! Wide range of variates if Turkish cusine in the menu: salads, soups, kebabs, desserts; all at reasonable price. Definitely a gem in Haringey area!
V. K.
Best Turkish restaurant in London. Super delicious food and excellent service. Also a good place for late night dinners as they are open past midnight
A. M.
Really lovely Turkish food, at a reasonable price.
Modern environment, but always super busy with a risk not to being given the proper attention from the waiters.
Whichever you want to order, take in account they serve a complementary salad and pita bread that will strike off half of your appetite.
s. r.
To me this is the perfect place to enjoy a proper breakfast/brunch. The quality of food is great and the amount of food compared to price is huge. We had the sharing breakfast and it was more than enough for 3. The staff are nice and friendly. Highly recommended 👍
s. s.
We bought 3 kebabs 2 Adana and 1 Iskender, asked for salad with no onions and asked before leaving to confirm that there were no onions in the salad, 🙁 we were completely disregarded. Just lost 3 customers, Hala never let's us down.
A. A.
Quality meat
Good salad.
Excellent waiter service.
Spent a lot of money for 3 ppl but it was worth it.
E. V.
Nice place to go with out friends, big portions and a nice food welcoming! We all had the salads with tzatziki as a starter (offered after arriving at the table), plus a main each!
The small portion is generous, our ladies can't manage to finish it!
F. N.
Lovely experience! we had amazing customer service from the lovely Murat - please give him a pay rise ❤️🩹❤️🩹❤️🩹
k.
Always serve really fast and sat us in good places. Anywhere in the restaurant is a good seat. Only issue would be no mobile reception (loool). Food is amazing
A. C.
The best Turkish food that I have had so far in London for prices that are far better than anywhere in more central london - definitely worth the trip! Great space for large parties and the large sharing grill platters are excellent value
C. G.
Even with the wait, and slow to notice service, the food was FANTASTIC. The lamb ribs were PERFECTLY PREPARED, the taste divine. Yes, the food is THAT good.
A. M.
Believe me everyone:
The most clever stuff;
The best kitchen;
Tasty and original recipe is there;
Lovely place for takeaway or eat in;
T. B.
Beautifully cooked fresh food. Very generous portions.... lots of pitta bread and dips to keep you going until your main meal arrives.Beautifully presented by very efficient friendly helpful staff. Always a very busy restaurant so best to book in advance if your going after 7.30pm. Highly recommended. Outdoor and indoor tables.
J. P.
One of the better but more expensive places to eat tasty & fresh Turkish food.
R. G.
So we came with some collegues from work and we had the best food experience so far together :) the lamb was excellent and my friends said they had never had better espessially the Patron who does not eat lamb. Amazing draft turkish beer. Will be back shortly and definitly recomend Thank you Gökyüzü
S. S.
Best Turkish food in London hands down. They give a lovely bread basket to start and it comes with dips. Food I'd recommend - the cold mezze, chicken shish and falafel for vegans.
Z. A.
Good food. Good service. Found parking. Got offered a good table for our family dinner.
D. Y. K.
This place was done up and expanded two years ago. The food is very nice.. the portions are great. Like many Turkish restaurants you get free bread and a yogurt starter which goes amazingly with the food. Nice atmosphere. The furniture is very stylist and industrial modern looking. We sat outside and all in all, 5 stars
d. g.
great quality food, tasty.... can be a bit on the expensive side
G. M.
Really nice food, we ordered the £50 mix grill, for takeaway. It was nice. Will be back.
B. O.
Visually a very happy busy vibe and the decor is lovely however my cousin recieved his ayran and we asked for mint to be added in the drink ( normally it comes with it) we asked up to 2 servers more than once and none of them brought it, service of the food was quick which was nice but the bread we got was too doughy and undercooked and the meze we got was cacik it had no salt other than that the taste was decent but a little salt would bring out the flavour so much more. I had a cocktail it literally tasted like artifical fake pomegranate sweet, the chicken shish, lamb chops and the chicken wing were dry and had no flavour but the ribs and the lamb shish were very nicely seasoned and had great flavour they also brought salads and othet meze to the table, the salad was amazing 10/10 flavour but the extra meze was confusing it had like 3-4 types of yoghurt type of dips and it was confusing what was what but the flavour was good on each other them... wasnt the best experience but the foods fresh although i would reccomend either asking for a salt shaker to add your own to taste and order ribs with lamb shish by far its their best.

I’ve been going to this amazing restaurant for a few years. It’s quite a trek as l don’t live on that side of the river. We always order the grilled meats which never disappoints, so tender, juicy and tasty. The lamb chops are rather big compared to other places. This time we also ordered the grilled prawns, very plump and flavoursome. Since the restaurant expanded I’ve noticed portions have shrunk shame because I think the salad plate is too small for a large group. Prices have increased slightly, service is mediocre. However the food is still worth the trip so definitely recommend this place.
S. M.
The Ottoman art is perfectly executed here. This restaurant is always busy ever since it was a hole in the wall type place some 15 plus years ago - now it's a fully fledged restaurant with nice seating and decor and the key element remains unchanged and that is the grilled food. Top notch and very high quality, the chefs here are literally the best in the business.
A. S.
Tasty, very good value for money restaurant. The atmosphere, ambience and service are also great. I want to come back to try other dishes!!
A. K.
I have been to this restaurant in Green lanes several times for breakfast and dinner. Absolutely delicious and tasteful menu but the reason I go back is not only the food, it’s the super friendly and welcoming environment. Everyone is amazing! From the floor manager to every single staff specially Maya. She made us feel special on my brother’s Birthday last night.
Thank you everyone and please keep up the great work!
I. C.
This is just the best Turkish restaurant ever. Food is fantastic, service is efficient too. Even though it is slightly pricier than the others around, we still choose them over the others in the area.
My favourite is the one shown on the picture.
J.
This was my first time here on a Saturday night. Was seriously packed, so packed you could not move in this place. Packed like sardines. I think the layout is wrong and really confusing as when you enter this restaurant, you’re entering the take away first. You don’t really know who to see. We had a booking at 19:30 we didn’t sit down till about 20:30…it’s that busy.
Regardless to that the food was fantastic, really nice selection of food, mouth watering, huge portions.
Would really recommend this place, but if you’re slightly closterfobic, then I would try and book at on a week night or something.
6/10 only lost 4 points because of the over crowding and long wait to be seated even though we booked in advance.
K. M.
Usually this place is packed out. We went early to avoid dissapointment. We visited Friday evening at around 6:45 pm. They have new decor and the restaurant looks fresh, clean and a lot more spacious. Usually this place is packed out. We were seated quickly and had our menus ready on the table. We ordered our starters and then our mains. Food came quickly and we were not dissapointed! The bread and sauce was on the house which was nice. As we finished we saw the restaurant was packed out. I was still able to navigate my way to the toilet safely. The toilets were also refurbished, very nice and very clean. The hand wash was topped up and toilets were very clean, this was important for me.
Upon paying the bill somebody saw us out and even held the door open. I am a hard critic and I do not give 5 stars to any outlet unless i feel I have enjoyed my self, the food and the service was above and beyond. It was so perfect I was purposely looking for faults. As our evening was coming to an end we asked for water, one of the waiters forgot about us completely. We asked a second waiter and we were served water very quickly. However I am not going to let this affect my review. Deserves 5 stars. Well done. Until next time. :)
A. B.
Great experience! Amazing food and excellent customer service 👍 just need a little improvement on falafel x
S.
Best Turkish restaurant, would recommend. Fabulous tender meat all seasoned differently, we ordered the sharing platter and was well worth it! Comes with bread, tzatsiki, rice and salad. Enough for 3 very hungry people or 4/5 to share. Great value for money and for big groups to come and share. Service is very good and very fast, always very busy so expect to wait. It’s quite loud as it’s slot go people.
R. P.
If you don't try this food you will regret. Awesome traditional food. Must try highly recommended.
M. O.
5 stars! That's it! Very warm welcome, nice setting, you see the chefs as you walk in so you can see where your food is being prepared. A full basket of warm bread with vegetables to kick-start and delicious meal to follow. You are frequently checked on by staff hence you would not have used plates or empty drink bottles lingering on your table. The foods are also great value for money even with great taste. Baby potatoes here are way tastier than I ever knew it. Now, going to their bathrooms, my mind waz blown. I guess they are the cleanest I have ever seen in a commercial environment, individual cubicles with even air freshner. Hat off!
E. T.
Top quality, award-winning Turkish restaurant. Especially after the recent refurbishment everything about the place from the excellent food to the atmosphere and interior are top class.
L. W.
Went here for a late dinner the other night. Seated right away and had a cup of tea within a minute. The staff are friendly and attentive. The food is honestly the best Turkish on Green Lanes. From mezzes to kebabs and everything in between, the food is incredible. Can’t wait to be back!
R. L.
Great Turkish food. Really tasty grilled lamb and chicken. Also great vegetarian options.and fish Lively atmosphere, excellent service and generous portions at good prices. Really nice that we were given bread and salads while we chose.
Recommend booking.
A. Y. R.
Good food, good service and relatively inexpensive. Place was clean when we visited and portions were very generous!
H. R.
Always have provided great food, served quick and hot. Always been greeted with a smile along with beautifully tasting food. Recommended if Turkish cuisine is up your street
K. F.
One of my favourite Turkish restaurants. Great, tasty food.
B. T.
I ordered lamb rib, my wife ordered mix of adana and lamb sish. Here are my notes:
- adana was ok, I mean could be more juicy but it was more than enough for uk
- lamb sish was well marinated and delicous. I didnt like the way it is serviced. It should be on the sish not loose. Looked like get together of all leftovers
- unfortunately my lamb rib was a disaster. I know the fat makes the meat yummy but this was %90 fat, even I am a fat lover? I didnt enjoy it, I literally steal some food from my wifes plate
- the service was great. Sami from Adiyaman was the best. He made us our stay very comfortable and never push us to leave.
Overall experience was ok. I wish my plate was also delicous but overall service make you feel not to complain.
Next time I will try Antepililer or Diyarbakir for comparison...
M. S. -. G. A.
Great breakfast, pity they have removed a tiny portion of honey, which used to be included, when asked, they demanded £5 extra.
R. S.
Absolutely loved our lunch here. Food was fabulous. Highly recommend.
a. b.
The food here is very good. There is a good reason they have this many reviews.
H. A.
Excellent quick service with fresh tasty dishes.
I. U.
Good Turkish brunch or dinner spot, the food is almost always good. Try the feta menemen it was a good find.
M. A.
Good food, service, and environment. However it is somewhat pricey such as £3 for a coke.
They do have free bread refills and some starters like salad and cacık.
M. C.
I love their lamb shish and since that I have’t tried anything else as I’ve fallen love with their shish
A. F.
Excellent turkish cuisine very tasty! Was licking my fingers.
Service staff are good but not the best need more training.
Premises looked recently renovated.
D. K.
Proper Turkish restaurant. Good service, good quality food, authentic taste, decent prices.
T. B.
Amazing food and great service
N. N.
The restaurant has a modern look to it, very welcoming but still give a Turkish essence. We had the full plater which was packed with flavour on a variety of proteins and more than enough to make us stuffed. The garlic sauce on the side is amazing! Our visit was on a Sunday evening and the place got busy (and noisy) real fast. Nonetheless, the staff were quick on their feet, polite, friendly and food was served on a timely manner. No parking directly outside the restaurant but side roads have spaces free in the evening or on Sunday. Overall, it is a good destination, very similar to Efe (in central London) but still have its unique feel.
F. O.
Great food at Gokyuzu. The grilled meat is very tasty. You get free salad, bread and tea with your meal. The food portions are large. Will definitely return.
There is ample parking for cars. Great customer service as well. Great experience overall!

Pricey food with small serving size, taste was good though

My absolute favourite restaurant! I’ve been going to this establishment for a long time. They are very friendly the food is excellent and the cleanliness is of a very high standard. From there breakfasts to the amazing jumbo platter absolutely mouth watering. Can’t wait to eat back inside from tomorrow.

Nice charcoalised food excellent service and reasonable charges 👍

I went to Gokyuzu restaurant with my visitors from Elephant and Castle (1h 10min).The food was freshly prepared and well cooked. Extremely satisfactory..

Great Turkish food, such lovely tentative staff and a huge selection to suit all palettes. The portions are HUGEEEEE!
E. A.
I enjoyed the big birthday luncheon turkish -based restaurant in Gokyuzu Green Lanes.
J. W.
Very busy restaurant. Service was satisfactory. The food was good but could of been warmer. If your a meat lover then this is the restaurant to go to.
M. C.
Loved this place, especially because of how accommodating they are. The food is everything you’d want a good Turkish to be. Special thanks to the waitress with brown hair wearing a black mask for helping me pray on time. Definitely coming again

Really it's one of the best Turkish restaurant in London. Good server, good price and tasty 👌

Wow! Charcoal flavor on all the kababs that makes their food unique. Best Turkish food in London!
L. M.
Very nice and quick service.
Great and tasty food.
I recommend this place
I. V.
Every time I go back I'm happier. That's the most beautiful food in London.
Very much indeed!
That comes from a chef working for the last seven years in Michelin restaurants 🤔😊🤷🏻♂️

Great food, great service

Very tasty and authentic Turkish Food restaurant. Fresh bread. Mix grill is highly recommended ! Finest Baklava for desert,
Very busy place. Management is polite and helpful
R. Z.
Easily the best Turkish food in London!
M. G.
*Edit*
I've ordered many times since the first version of this review, and they have actually been flawless! Super tasty food, and their portions are so big! Love it. Seems like it was just bad luck the first time around.
***********
Ordered delivery of a chicken dish, but got the lamb version. I dislike lamb so much, it makes me sick, so needless to say I couldn't eat any of it. May I suggest being a bit more careful with your deliveries? Someone who ordered food at home can't just complain on the sport that their dish got messed up and change it.
S. P.
Just perfect grills.I ve been going there for years.AMAZING lamp yogurt soup...
S. G.
Very cheap for those portion sizes. Each meal is just huge and super delicious. Mantı was the best mantı I ever had and also İçli Köfte was amazing and incredibly big for that price
S. L.
Awesome Turkish Food at a very reasonable price It will definitely suit your taste buds. We had the full platter, Don't forget to try the Kunefe at the end. Probably the best Turkish food I ever had! 👌
T. E.
Best baklava I ever tried! Very nice meals, atmosphere and service.
g. m.
Good service. The meal that we ordered wasn't big enough for 2 people. But the food nice.
W. P.
Great place friendly staff great customer service open in the morning for breakfast so you can go there at anytime of the day
H. L.
I went with my girls for breakfast and the service was really fast.
The breakfast we had was the Mediterranean breakfast and it was very filling and good.
C. B.
Okay all jokes aside my wife's cousin fiance had me in stitches. We had drinks I told him I was invited to a Turkish dinner. He looked at me puzzled and said your in London and looking to eat Turkish dinner. I laughed and drank some beer.
Time for dinner walk up restaurants was very packed. Food looked and smelled great. Wait was about 15minutes group of 5. Didnt mind. Server came out with some pickled cabbage salad tzatziki sauce with fresh home made peta bread. I'm a foodie and that was one of the best tzatziki sauce I ever had. Thick well seasoned dill was on point.
The medium platter was enough to feed the 5 of us with some spare.
Sorry didnt get to take pictures I was out all day for touring and phone was at 6% when it came to dinner.
When I go back to London here I come.
A. A.
everything in this restaurant is just fantastic , food was excellent, services was perfect.. will go again there soon
S. S.
Delicious food, nice ambience. Nice staff. Brings me back to having Turkish food as a child with the bread, sauce and tzatziki to start for free and the Turkish tea, with a modern feel and design of the restaurant.
F. 1.
To start with the food is great I always get a jumbo platter which comes with literally everything.
UNFORTUNATELY the PRICES have gone up a noticeable amount around 30% To be precise which is very sad because the portion has not changed and regardless of even if they have different suppliers for meat etc it should not go up that much!
The service is usually slow but the staff are very much over worked but still very friendly can't blame them.
Usually around at least 15 minutes wait before getting seated when they are busy during peak hours even if you have booked a table.
If you book or arrive with more then 6 people be prepared to wait around 25 minutes for a table unless your willing to make a deposit payment a couple days before in person.
Otherwise can't fault the place the new refurb is abosuloutly beautiful and well maintained.
Again the food is out of this world!
So to finish
Beautiful food!
Not so quick seating for big group regardless of booking unless your willing go out of your to go in and make a payment which makes sense.
Prices are high For jumbo platter £55 to be precise it used to be £40 For jumbo! And £28 For normal. All they add to jumbo is lamb chops so doesn't make sense possibly one more thing but can't remember.
s. j.
I have always wanted to try their food as they always had queues everytime I went past and I finally plucked up the courage and ordered it and we loved it absolutely gorgeous ❤️
M. F.
If your looking for a Turkish restaurant with great flavoured food served by friendly staff in a buzzing atmosphere check in here
L. A.
Father day meal, communication break down for the table however.. Not a problem! we got a table after a wait and as usual the food was amazing we normally eat at the branch on the a406.
All staff did their job amazingly and we will always come back.
A. J.
I want you to know that Gokyuzu is so amazing that my friend and myself ordered a full platter for takeaway, travelled an hour to collect it, returned back, then accidentally dropped the whole platter on the kitchen floor while warming it up. So we scooped it back up and ate it like nothing happened. If only I had a photo of the platter on the kitchen floor to prove. May God bless Gokyuzu.
B.
Definitely come here on a completely empty stomach; the food is deliciously tasty, the best Turkish cuisine. It’s the best!
E. B.
Best shefs in town!
AVSIN is the best waiter to look out for!
Thank you for making sure we feel welcomed all the time.
G. I.
The tastiest food I've ever tried in London 🤩
K. S.
Food was ok, meat seemed a bit tough and rice isn’t the best. Chicken was amazing and always is from Gokyuzu as is the bread. I would recommend but avoid the rice!
B. G.
Very nice Turkish breakfast and food alas teasty breads
I. S.
Very nice breakfast! Love everything on their breakfast platter apart from the fried eggs that were overcooked. Otherwise fantastic bread, jam, amazing honey and olives!
K. T.
Absolutely incredible Turkish restaurant. The staff are very friendly and attentive of guests. The restaurant is clean aswell and well furnished.
The menu has many options to pick from and is reasonably priced too. We opted for the platter and there was more than enough to go round - I had to end up taking away so the portions are generous. The food was cooked to perfection and the flavours were just absolutely delicious. Definitely check out if you're in the area its a must go. Keep up the great work.
G. L.
Standard turkish food. No complaints. Also nice and clean. Service os decent.
D. A.
Got the chicken doner kebab and was very satisfied with the quality of the meat. Definitely levels above standard doner meat and it tasted absolutely amazing with no sauce or wrap. The salad and bread they provide you for free is absolutely top quality and the rice was nicely cooked. Service was good and I would definitely recommend to anybody looking for a kebab in Green lanes.
S.
We went for brunch. Good food. Good portions. Delicious and friendly staff. Oh and comfortable armchairs!
M. E.
Oh wow! Visiting my son who has just moved into an apartment at Finsbury Park. Dinner for six adults. Fantastic food attentive but not pushy service, and all of us stuffed for under £100. If I didn't live over 300 miles away, I'd be a regular!
J. M.
Great food but expensive and the size of the portions seems to have gone down over time.
d. w.
Nice and pleasant staff very good sea food
L. E.
Not a single bad thing to say. Service was exceptional, incredibly fast and efficient, plus very friendly.
Food is very good, and I mean very good. We got a sharing platter between three and we were stuffed by the end. All the meat was well seasoned and juicy. Truly some of the best I've had in a long time.
Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity. It's not cheap kebab so don't expect those prices but bill came to about £17 a head and for the food we got that's a great deal.
10/10 will be coming back soon!
Z. G.
We have been here many times and the quality of the food is always good. Usually get a family platter which comfortably feeds 4 people. One of the best places on Green Lanes
L. C.
A really tasty meal at a fabulous price. We ordered chicken and lamb doner and shish with grilled haloumi. It was delicious. The staff were very friendly even as the evening got very busy. Second visit and I will be back.
j. a.
Gorgeous food and helpful, friendly staff. Next time we are in the area we will be back 😊
S. d.
Good service, quality food. Slightly over budgets. Recomended

Very nice place to visit and to try best Turkish food
Service was gd
Food 5 stars
B. B. (.
Very good food and excellent service even though busy place at times the food is served in no time.
L. J.
Salad and taziki with bread on arrival, a good range of dishes and a staff of friendly and helpful servers make this place a good treat. Let us take away leftover Turkish pizza. I enjoyed a good Mojito when dining whereas my sister-in-law is a fan of the authentic Turkish turnip juice.
H. T.
My favourite turkish restaurant in the whole of London. The food is to die for and the service is impeccable. You get so much for your money. They offer a complimentary starter, salad and Turkish tea.
L. B.
Food was mediocre and felt like the staff weren't very friendly
L. O.
Delicious food! Really recommend to visit. Service is good, sometimes small things ordered are forgotten 🙄, but still keep coming back to this place as food never disappoints. Especially meat 😉
A. A.
Really tasty food, nice big portions and reasonably priced when you consider these things. I've been twice now and I still haven't been disappointed. Being so close to the main road is the biggest downfall as all the card and people ruins outdoor dining.
C. R.
Delicious meal. We had a big sharing platter of assorted meat which was cooked perfectly.
s. m.
Great lovely food to eat, amazing taste... Would definitely recommend ++++++
V.
The food came very quick and had a good service
T.
Good and friendly service and atmosphere. meat and food nothing special. generous portions
f. l.
One of the nicest Turkish restaurants on green lane. Three of us went there and ordered the mixed grill, there was so much delicious food we couldn't finish it and had to take the rest home.
P. P.
Meat was nice. But I remember the portions being bigger and the prices lower. Post lockdown all restaurants in the area increase prices by 30% but even by those standards I felt it was overpriced for the portions. I haven't been back since then.
A. R.
Food 9/10 - Better than many Turkish restaurants i've tried out, tried the jumbo platter and the chops were my favourite. Bread and mint sauce as well as Turkish tea are free.
Price - Quite pricey but the quality of the food makes up for it
Service 9/10 - Staff were friendly, fast, very hard working and ensured customers were happy
Atmosphere 7/10 - Gets really busy during evening hours but understandable for a restaurant serving quality food, tables seem to be very close to each other, has comfortable seating and nice design delivering a cosy vibe to the restaurant
f. a.
Food was great but we felt quite rushed. We didnt know the mains would come out straight away so we were still eating our starters when our mains arrived. Im ok if a restaurant chooses to serve as soon as a meal is ready but it should inform you of this on arrival.
There also wasnt much attention to COVID regulations. Menus werent being wiped down between customers and everyone was very close together.
Overall good place to eat and would be better next time knowing about the order food comes to the table.
S. M.
Nice food, polite friendly staff, reasonble prices, fresh & delicious on site made most of what you see on the menu, I recommend it to everybody.
M. Y.
Amazing nice Turkish resutrant not like any other I have been to. Would defo go again
L. C.
BEST Turkish restaurant in London. Excellent food and service!
i.
Jumpo Platter pretty nice for 4-5 people. Good variety of food, and decent quality, a bit pricey.
S. M.
Tasty food and great service.. doner is delicious.. and great location
S. A.
Disappointed and wouldn’t visit again
I am a regular customer of another nearby restaurant but when I saw a long queue there, I decided to give Gokuzu a try given the good ratings.
To start with, I went to wash my hands before starting the meal, the restaurant was in a terrible state of hygiene, looks like their staff eat on the indoor tables and don’t clean after, the smell was revolting, the toilet were not in a better shape too.
We requested to have starters first then the main, but everything came together, the staff apologised saying they already prepared it. Every was very cold! Looks like it was prepared an hour ago.
We ordered Iskandar, the doner meat was super chewy, definitely nothing freshly made. The soup came with a big layer of oil which was completely unnecessary. To be fair, Lahmajun was tasty despite being cold.
Kunafe, was cold and old as well.
Overall, my experience of the place was less than average. It was my first time to visit and definitely my last. I am not sure how all the positive reviews came about?! Unless the restaurant has dropped its standards.

Doner kebabs are so delicious. They make the bread like a toaster. My favourite doner shop is here. I came for breakfast. It's amazing as well.

Really lovely beyti can be expected from gökyüzü. And we had a decent mixed grill too. They initially bring some bread, salad and cacık all complimentary while you are picking from the menu. You get a complimentary Turkish black tea after if you ask for one but don't make the mistake of ordering a second glass as it's £1.20 a pop which is rather pricey. Alot of the competitors offer unlimited Turkish tea. It should also be pointed out that they automatically put a 10% service charge on top of your bill.
M. F.
I ordered the sharing plater for 3 people which was a very good amount of food, the meat was very tender and tasty.
Y. A.
Food was fantastic! Service was great! All around would recommend
L. P.
Amazing place where to enjoy the real Turkish food! Prices are a good average for London, and the place looks fancy and well kept!
Staff is friendly and keen to suggest.
J. M.
Very good food. A bit pricey, though
A. N.
Food here is always great, as is the service. Amazing salads, great manti and all the grilled meats are absolutely delicious. I only wish the owners showed a bit of concern for the environment!!! The area around the Ocakbasi restaurants on Green Lanes has become unbreathable over the past years, and while it's nice to see how successful the chain restaurants have become, locals are worrying about impact on our health due to charcoal grill emissions and people driving by car to enjoy a meal out.
Q. J.
We went on a Friday night, such a busy restaurant, and for a good reason, the food was amazing, service even better.
J. J.
The food is fantastic and the service very attentive and quick. The Restaurant furnishings and the all important Toilets are excellent too.
A. G.
I wnt der for weekend and I've ordered lahmajon and lamb ribs and kofta iskender kebab.
D lahmajon was nice but ribs was to small and no meat and iskender kebab was very chewy like rubber and no taste at all.
Prices are expensive as they put d price up by almost £5 for every dish.
Can coke £2.70 which is not responsible at all also service charge on d top.
Service charge shouldn't be obligatery for two people or people under 5.
Service charge should only b charged for big group and parties.
M. S.
This is one of my favourite restaurants in London. Excellent value for money, super tasty food and the fastest service. Especially if you fancy meat, you have to visit this place for their glorious mixed meat platters but just make sure you go on an empty stomach! They always serve freshly baked bread and their desserts kunefe and sutlac (rice pudding) are to die for.

BEST FOOD AND SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED!!!!!!!!
WHERE DO I START - Wow what an amazing experience I had at this beautiful restaurant.
The food was brilliant and the customer service was impeccable. The chef prepared the food and put his heart and soul into it and the results were phenomenal.
Now, I will be visiting this place a lot more often.
Once again best service, great food, great atmosphere and lovely people.
S. R.
Excellent service. Excellent food. Extremely consistent. Have been going for last decade and never have been disappointed. Can't recommend enough.
S.
Food is delicious and you get unlimited free pitta bread (which is made in house), tzatziki and salad, which are all equally delicious. I recommend the platters, they are epic! Also the Turkish tea (first one is free)
N. H.
Best one on Green Lanes! A bit pricier but worth it and I never seen such efficient service.
S. “. D.
Nicely decorated restaurant and friendly staff. Food is good. They could add bit more Vegetarian dishes such as dried beans and rice (kuru fasulye) Barbunya beans. Dishes that generally called Zeytinyağlı in Turkey.(cooked on olive-oil so that can be eaten cold and are meat free.
Finally they could pay attention to the timing of the service . I was with a friend the other day, I had my starter soup very quickly while my my friend had to wait too long for hers.
P. B.
Amazing service, food that is ridiculously tasty and great portions!
A. H.
The food is unbelievably delicious and true to the Anatolian spirit; the staff a pleasure and lively. It's not surprising the queues are long and they're thriving with multiple sites.
A. R.
Good food probably the best Turkish restaurant I've been to in London.
J. M.
This place deserves its reputation. I wouldn’t necessarily say that it’s any better than some of the other Turkish restaurants on Green Lanes, but it’s definitely very good. Can recommend the lamb chops; perfectly cooked and deliciously spiced.
V. D.
Excellent grill selection and meat is cooked to your standards. Prices are a bit extortionate for the portions you get which isn’t a big issue. It’s a place I would go to for a special occasion with friends. The customer to staff ratio is good as they have lots of waiters so you don’t have to wait to be served. The staff are attentive and take time to ensure customers are served well. Very hospitable restaurant, I shall be coming back again very soon.
m. a.
This is one of the wonderful Turkish restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was so friendly. I absolutely recommend it 👌🏻
B.
It's not bad I'd prefer the other Gokyuzus the food served here isnt that bad but could be better presentation is ok but seems as if it was just thrown on the plate. Some waiters seem moody which is reasonable as the place is always packed. In conclusion its not a bad place. 6/10
O. S.
An excellent Turkish restaurant which was large and spacious. They have a number of outdoor tables as well as very large front terrace windows as part of their frontage this allows you to sit inside and with the windows open you can still enjoy the fresh air.
We had a very nice time as the staff were extremely friendly and the food was very good as well as plentiful and very reasonably priced. We certainly will be revisiting Gokyuzu again in the very near future.
R. K.
Gokyuzu have never let me down. Food is always hot, fresh and the portions are fantastic. Staff are friendly and on hand and the food comes out to you in good time while you're distracted with bread and dips. Full menu with something for everyone! I think they have the best value and quality out of their neighbours. Since the pandemic, I've ordered takeaway and it's just as good as eating in. I usually take pictures of my food but when it comes to their platters, theres no time, you just want to tuck in straight away!
N. K.
Delicious fresh Turkish food- great, friendly service. Bravo!
S. A.
Lovely food and setting and staff. A bit costly £££. £65 for a kebab and 2 cokes
A. S.
Very tasty and great variety of options
A. R.
Generous portions and good service, but the food didn't impress me much.
A. O.
I love their meal and they've got wonderful customer service
S. B.
Great food! We ordered the jumbo platter and it was plenty for a group of 6 - very filling! Clean and spacious. Very good customer service too
C. H.
Very good food. Good service. Generous portions.
m. m.
Very good service food was ok
The afters were amazing
G. A.
Very nice although slightly pricey
P. M.
Fabulous restaurant. Really good value mezze. Free salads and bread and dip and the food keeps coming. Very tasty. Great variety of meats and vegetarian things too. Highly recommended. Lots of room and very friendly staff. They might overestimate your appetite. All rounded off with Turkish Tea on the house. I’m not sure about Turkish Tea. Seems like an informal variation on a normal recipe. I’m not keen on Brit tea either if I’m honest. The humous is wonderful though and peng halloumi. Go go go.
F. N.
Great restaurant, great food, and great service. The staff were very friendly and joyous, and the food was delicious and arrived on time. I had a very minor problem and that was resolved at a quick rate. Overall great experience and I'm hoping to go again in the near future.
A.
Got kunefe from here. Really tasty!
M. M.
Excellent restaurant. One of the best Turkish I've ever been to. Great service. Amazing food. Cold beers.
M. H.
Wow
It was amazing
You have to come here and experiance it
Fantastic
A. A.
Very nice food
Good service and staff
Lovely restaurant and good decorating
The problem that's far away from center London
M. L.
Excellent Service, friendly staff and very good food. 👍
D. S. T.
Booked a month early for a table of 20. On the day, we were given 2 separate tables of 10?! So not the best idea and we had to negotiate pretty hard to resolve this. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated and busy so a good atmosphere is guaranteed... However, whilst it is reasonably priced, the food is pretty underwhelming considering how delicious Turkish food can be.
A. S.
Super fresh food and excellent service as always.
J. T.
I have been going here quite regularly recently and I must say service and food is great.
Highly recommended. A real joy.
A. S.
Superb takeaway. Meal portions were generous, came with loads of complimentary bread and even a free rice pudding dessert. Chicken shish was tender and tasty, and we especially loved the muska boregi - the filo pastry is the perfect kind of crisp and juicy with flavour. Will definitely be ordering again.
S. T.
Very nice moments and succulents food as always
A. E.
Amazing food and the service is 10 10 and I will be going back again when I am downs south very very food customer service and you get some really good quality poultry absolutely beautiful
A. U.
Wow, what can I say...firstly the furnishings in this restaurant are mesmerising, the staff are so welcoming and helpful and so polite. First time mum and me have visited and we shall definitely be returning again soon. Wondering atmosphere, absolutely delicious food here. Thank you for an awesome experience. Keep up the good work.
A. D.
Gorgeous, love love Turkey.
Love from Iran.🌹🌹🌹😘
V. L. &. B.
If you look a place with space this is the one, you can take your family and friends and still space for other people. The food was delicious and the staff very polite.
C. B.
This is a great place for a Turkish meal. You will order too much so be prepared to take 1/2 home. Don’t go crazy just have the feast and share it. The restaurant is nice as are the the staff. The beer is good too. It is. It really a place to take vegetarians but they do have things available.
C.
The donor wraps aren't great. Pretty bland surprisingly.
C. Z.
Big and tasty Turkish food. The wine is also very good and the prices as well
B. A.
Great place for some good Turkish food. This place was really tasty grills and is always busy. If your are able to book I recommend it. The bread is fresh and so is the meat. A little bit of a journey to get if you don't live in North London but definitely worth the trek.
D. N.
As a Turkish person who is picky about where she eats, I can safely say this place is one of the best. Food was fresh and delicious, portions incredible, decently priced, staff SO LOVELY and attentive, always available. We were welcomed very warmly. The atmosphere is so nice too. Definitely going back
E. H.
Whoaaaaa! Feeling pretty lucky to have chosen this as my takeaway, could’ve been in a restaurant. Gorgeous flavours, deliciously large portions. Perfect. And delivered so quickly with bread and sauces. Will order again. Hot mezze was a hot mess (in a good way) calamari rings were delicious, my no nonsense straight talking businessman associate happened to say they were the best squid rings he’s had this side of corona. So there you go. Over and out!
c. p.
Very good, staff friendly and can't do enough for you, food lonely and delicious, very big portions, price fair for what you get, very comfortable that's why it's a five
M. P.
Gokyuzu Food is always hot, fresh and the portions are always very generous. Staff and manager Ander are friendly and on hand and the food comes out to you in good time while you're distracted with bread and dips. Full menu with something for everyone! I think they have the best value and quality out of their neighbours.i have been visiting the restaurant for about 7 years now.Since the pandemic, I've ordered takeaway and it's just as good as eating in.
G. H.
Amazing Restaurant, tasty food and a vibrant atmosphere.
J. J.
Best breakfast of the world
U. T.
Good food. Always busy so don’t expect a quite restaurant. Staff is nice.
H. A.
Love this place. Food is amazing, freshly made, the restaurant is always busy. The only think I don't like tables are too small lol other than that is perfect.
S. S.
When a Turkish restaurant is filled with Turkish people, you have to believe it is good food. and it is. From the starters of salads and bread that seem to come with every table, to the mezzes that are seriously big enough to share - in fact - get a few for the table, to the tea: all delicious.
Our service was quick and pleasant without anyone bugging us. We did have to flag someone down in order to pay - they were that busy.
I've been here before, and I would definitely go back.
A. K.
Great food, great service.
E. P.
The food is delicious! Everything we tried was cooked to perfection, very good size portions and super tasty! It is an expensive restaurant though and the service charge is quite high.
R. H.
Fantastic food and the staff are very friendly. Never had a bad meal here. Totally worth a 5 star review
C. J. T.
Amazing food as always. I want to come back for breakfast!
K. X.
Came here with a group - absolutely amazing! The food was amazing and cooked to perfection, the staff were lovely and helpful. The interior was modern and clean and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Will definitely be coming back here - so so happy! Perfect for family meals/birthdays.
S. L.
Tasty food, reasonable price and great atmosphere!
C. C.
Great food and service - really nice place
D. S.
Impressive place with and absolutely delicious and authentic Turkish food.
On the way to Ally Pally we’ve decided to go for a dinner.. we got attracted by good reviews, then when in the area, absolutely filled with other establishments, the exterior, warm welcome, interior and ultimately THE FOOD!
On a Friday night the place was buzzing, yet we’ve not had to wait for a table. And despite of the fact that we were merely a party of two - we got a bigger one of my choice.
The complementary starters were served within minutes of us being sat, and for for less hungry birdies only that could constitute a meal.
Our dishes were arriving in nicely timed manner, at no point we felt rushed or forgotten about. The waiting staff was always there if only needed, yet very much in the background of it all.
We have been eating Turkish both in the UK, and in Turkey for years now.. it’s the first time we came across, such beautifully balanced mix of tastes.
The food looked good, it was fresh, prepared to satisfy the most demanding critics - it was amazing, and so so delicious.
We’ve ordered large mains, hoping we will leave some for later at home. Well.. for some, the ‘leave some for later’ part proved to be a bit difficult..
We loved the experience and will be back soon.
I. H.
Fast and good service, food was perfect ,tasty. We will coming back :)
W. K.
It was good. By far not in my top Turkish restaurants. The food was lacking a bit of taste and the service wasn't great. They were very busy which reflected on their service, such as waiting 10mins to ask the waiter for salt. But overall good and I may return there, but wouldn't recommend
M. M.
Excellent as always, was great to dine in after a while.
A. K.
When it comes to authentic, Turkish taste, the sky is the limit at Gökyüzü.
Ö. Y.
Still one of the best Turkish restaurants in London but I used to enjoy this place more when they didn't expand. The staff were much more friendly. Before it felt like a special place where only locals know. Now it has an average Turkish restaurant feel. Before it was the best value food in London, now it is rather expensive. Still tasty food though.
L. H.
This place is excellent! Fair rates, considerable dishes and the staff members are constantly very welcoming.
U. A.
Was down in London with my cousins and tried this place out. Really nice grilled food. Nice and fresh. Good environment. Didn’t take long for our food even though it was busy. The waiter gave us a good service too.
H. O.
Another classic of theirs. Yoghurt paca. With lots of garlic. I travel from outside the London to just enjoy this soup. Delicious and yummy again same taste.😀😀😀😀But just the Yoghurt Paca and salads. Can't promise of the rest of the menu😉
A. C.
Great food, the meat is superb and would definitely go again.
G. U.
Food was incredible, although some felt more oily =) The starters' portions are huge so thumbs up! A new starter called manti is delicious, highly recommend. The only thing we were suspicious about is that the personnel was not properly wearing the masks - most of them were on their chins and in times of covid-19 they should take care of themselves since they contact with many people during work.
Y. S.
Just a brilliant restaurant altogether. Definitely THE Turkish restaurant in London.
The food - ah, the food - is amazing. My friends and I go occasionally and we always get their Jumbo platter is amazing. No words honestly, just gotta try it for yourself.
Pricing is perfect for what it offers, in my opinion.
The staff are friendly, approachable and accommodating.
The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is great.
Go. Just go. Trust me.
T. M.
The best platter on green lanes.
Also excellent breakfast.
C. K.
Gokyuzu is one of my favourite restaurants - service is speedy, food always arrives piping hot, portion sizes are very generous and the food is delicious and fresh. A great selection of food and wines, and a great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
M. O.
Food is well cooked and tasty. One of the best I've been to so far.
D. A.
Fabulous Turkish restaurant. Appetizers, salads, kebabs specially the lamb doner was excellent! But be careful! Portions are big! 🙂
B. O. B.
Lovely food presentation and chili sauce to die for
M. W.
Should really be four stars but the chicken wasn't the best quality. Service was at least decent.
W. T. L.
I love this restaurant so much! I have been 3 days in a row just this week. The food is amazing, the service is wonderful and the atmosphere is so relaxing, even when they are busy! Derya was a fantastic server and we have had a great visit everytime.
L. N. K.
Friendly, fun and fast service.
Delicious and flavourful food. Fantastic price!!
This is my go to place for inviting friends out for dinner and this place has never let me down! I've been going here since 2013
EXCELLENT!! ☆☆☆☆☆
K.
Amazing food. Great service. Try the lamb no matter where that is in. 😊
V. N.
Fantastic Restaurant,
Decor looks really great and relaxing with a dark green colour scheme. Great choice of selections on the menu. The platters are really what its all about for sharing with friends and trying different foods.
Overall a fantastic place for a meal with friends or family; with friendly staff great service and amazing food!
F. R.
Had a Share Platter. It was delicious and filled 2 people full up. When you seat, the restaurant serves you a yogurt and cucumber starter, some Turkish bread and some veggies. They went perfectly with the platter.
J. W.
Delicious food and excellent service. Will definitely be coming back here again.
M. A.
Best Turkish in my opinion. Just so consistent. The platter is a usual item. But recently been trying different dishes and happily surprised. Iskender is great. Would highly recommend. Service is great. Staff are professional. Can't complain. Never a bad experience here.
B.
Brilliant food here. I was skeptical when my girlfriend brought me here but all that was blown away the moment I stepped into the door and I could smell the delicious food.
The only reason I am not giving this place a 5 star rating is the service. The waiters looked very disinterested and they forgot our tea after my meal. My girlfriend says it used to be better.
S. A.
Have been here on numerous occasions but last night me and my friends decided to go for a late night meal here and have never had such amazing customer service in any restaurant we've eaten at before. A lovely waitress named Hulya served us and had such a friendly nature we were astounded by the amazing service. Despite it being late (I'm guessing everybody wants to go home after working till the evening) she was energetic, friendly, and warming. Thank you for the enjoyable experience Hulya, we will definitely be visiting again :)
D. L.
This is a rather lovely place to sit and eat at anytime. The food is well seasoned and tastes absolutely delicious.
There is lots of seating without feeling as if you have been squashed in.
The decor is absolutely gorgeous - done to a very high standard and looks as though no expense has been spared.
You must check out the toilets - sounds a little weird but even these are just amazing! So clean and so stylish!
Price wise I would say that they are on par with the other Turkish restaurants in the area - quite reasonable for the amount of food that comes.
Service is 2nd to none and very attentive. Food comes quickly and is nice and hot.
Only reason it lost a star is because I feel service charges should be left up to the customer and not enforced on the end of your bill.
Otherwise a lovely all round experience.
H. K.
Good quality Turkish cuisine and buzzing atmosphere
L. J.
Understandable wait for tables, place is busy. Food was amazing and service was good. Would go again.
T. H.
Great breakfast!!!
L.
Highly recomended, amazing food, big portions and very good service. I’ll be back for sure
H. D.
Have lived on Green Lanes for several years and have tried all the restaurants along the parade, can certainly say this is the best. Outstanding food and incredibly quick service (even when busy). Just brilliant.
R. A.
Very tasty food. Best place for kunafe
A. M.
Best Turkish in town? Yes, it definitely lives up to the myth. I have been there many times and the food is always brilliant. The meat is of excellent quality and always perfectly cooked. The portions are generous, the prices are great, you simply cannot get better value for money. Most times we get the big platter to share, but I have also tried other stuff, all great. The place is completely packed on weekends, you need to reserve at least 2 days before and most times it is also packed in weekdays at dinner time as well. Reservation is essential at all times. The only downside is that it is a bit cramped, you might feel too close to the companies next you. Highly recommended, without any doubt whatsoever.
A. B.
Always fresh and reasonable priced, decent food.
A. T.
Would have given Gokyuzu a higher rating if it hadn't been for the price. When I first visited the restaurant in 2012, platter to share was £30 with so much food for two it could comfortably feed four and have leftovers. Visit in October 2019 cost over £20 per head. Restaurant does offer near West End eating experience given quality of food and ambience. Always popular and busy when I stroll past the place.
S.
Went as a group of 10 and everything was swept clean. Tasted amazing.
H. W.
Amazing! I got take away and the amount of sides they throw in will fill you up on their own! Great service, great food. Atmosphere seemed very relaxing too. Will definitely return to eat in.
H. L.
Was very disappointed by this after reading great reviews and hearing good things from other people. The meat dishes were nice but the vegetarian dishes were very underwhelming and were just oily grilled veges with rice and not much spice or flavor. The portion sizes were very generous (very very generous!) which I think has possibly biased other reviews positively. The food quality/flavors didn’t really feel deserving of the of the high ratings :( wouldn’t recommend for vegetarians but okay for others (still not amazing though). Restaurant was also very noisy, but it was a Saturday night so take that with a grain of salt maybe. Decent service from staff.
N. H.
Came here for a birthday party. When we arrived it was absolutely packed out but the staff were very friendly and accommodating. In particular, my toddler was exploring and they had no issues. The food was pretty good and reasonably priced.
Y. H.
Great food, in which we couldn't detect the excessive saltiness that's typical of MSG, which is great. Healthy portions for decent value - not the cheapest I've had but certainly not the most expensive either, let alone for one of the very best Turkish restaurants in London.
The biggest disappointment was the service. For a quiet mid afternoon, while the food was delivered speedily and there were always wait staff on hand, the gentlemen in question were not personable and were indifferent in all of their interactions. They did, however, brighten up and put in a lot more effort with the babies on the table next to ours, so it wasn't beyond their capabilities and (rightly or wrongly) made the cold treatment we received feel personal.
The platter itself was exactly what I had hoped for: the gamut of marinated and grilled chicken, adana & lamb kebabs, wings, lamb ribs and high quality shredded donner kebabs all sitting on a bed of bulgur wheat and rice. It could easily feed 3-4 and the restaurant are at least content to accommodate taking away what you can't find space to finish! You'll be given a complimentary cacik yoghurt starter with fresh Turkish bread and a healthy plate of tangy salad. The only other thing we ordered (which was absolutely not necessary given the size of the platter) was a Turkish version of pizza: pide. We asked for a recommendation and received a sujuk sausage and kasir cheese pide. It's certainly authentic but nothing special in terms of favour; the lahmacoun flatbread is a cheaper and tastier alternative in my opinion. After we had reached our limits, we were also offered a complimentary cup of Turkish tea too.
A final note for the very large interior, dressed in an impressive modern decor with plenty of nice toilets too (odd thing to mention, I know, unless you've been to your fair share of Turkish restaurants!).
If you're fortunate enough to live close to either Haringey or Dalston, you can't go wrong by getting an authentic, massive platter from one of the great, long established Turkish restaurants in these areas.
T. R.
Food is amazing. Great service.
M. A.
The food was excellent and we were served quite quickly. Very pleased with the service received.
H.
had a fantastic beyti, the lamb mince was delicious. my friend simon struggled to finish his Kizartma 😕
E. A.
I love it the service the food everything
A. A.
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere and great staff. The time it took to get the meal cooked and served especially when they were nearly full.. I don't have words to describe how good it was. If you ever want any middle eastern experience around the food / cuisine, always drop by this place!
S. Y.
This is my absolute fave restaurant to go too. What a luxury service given by the team especially the hostess Berivan, she was just amazing! Quality food and service and the atmosphere is just divine :) one of the Top restaurants in London!! best team and best food!!
P. K.
great food waiters was great, sorry can remember the names!
A. K.
Nicely presented food. Excellent service. Not cheapest but certainly very good food. Well done keep it up.
M. S.
Without doubt the best restaurant I've ever been to. Great staff, amazing food and excellent value for money.
D. B.
Amazing restaurant which is always very busy. The portions are very generous and you can eat very well without spending a huge amount of money. Been here a few times and the food is consistently good. There's a reason why this is one of the most popular Turkish restaurants on Green Lanes!
F. J.
This has been our go to for Turkish food for years now and we're amazed at their latest renovation and extension as the only problems we faced there were long waiting times (due to its popularity).
We're always greeted with a smile and a friendly handshake by the staff every time we go. The food is always fresh and no matter how small the platter we orders there always seems to be some left. Portions are huge and prices are reasonable. I'd definitely recommend this place to everyone.
p. c.
The Gokyuzu Restaurant was food was very Excellent and a customer service was amazing
A.
Turkish Food is a real culinary delight and my oh my was this place just filled so many people with the atmosphere buzzing! We were seated promptly, fast service and exceptional at worst! The food was to die for, fresh and quality food coming out leaving us full and wanting to come back for more! Cannot wait to be back here soon!
S. T.
The restaurant is one of the best on Green Lanes. The atmosphere is great and staff are very friendly. I was impressed with the quick service and delicious food. If you are out with friends, I would recommend you to order the platter and try all the meats - it's worth it! I will definitely be coming back!
K. A.
Amazing food. Always love going to gökyüzü.
A. B.
The food was simply delicious! It was a culinary delight in a lovely setting! I would definitely recommend it!
M. S.
Excelent food, service and atmosphere. Our favourite restaurants in London.
C. H.
Food is really tasty, generous portions (that's an understatement actually!) and great variety. The lamb chops are superb. Have eaten a few things from the menu and am never disappointed. Definitely worth a visit or order a takeaway - you won't regret it!
R. M.
Excellent quality food, good service, well priced
G. S.
It's was a really nice place, with range choice of food. Great customer service and I think it's one of the best place that I've been into.
E. s.
Love this place - it isn't service with a smile always but great options for food and I love their intro salad, pitta and dip. had a great refurb here and looking really smart, the only thing is that the portions of the meat have got a bit smaller but I suppose for a case of food waste that isn't such a bad thing ( but I should have definitely had the large rather than the regular!)
m. b.
My favourite place to buy turkish food. Even though i have moved 30 miles away, i still make the round trip to get my platter. The food is cooked to perfection with soul.
H. E.
The quality of the food and taste is just amazing. Service always fast and good, even during these covid times. Friendly and welcoming staff
N. Q.
Nice place , the food is good at expected... ., The staff need to focus more on the customers....And this restaurant look amazing from inside to outside.
J. E.
The food is really good, so whatever legends you've heard, they're true. Absolutely book a table or you will have to wait quite a while to be seated. Big however: The background noise isn't helped by the loud music which means the waiters will have a hard time understanding you. Seats are comfortable but crammed so close to each other you can't get up again once you're seated without making everyone stand up too. Service is really slow probably because it's always so busy. They also throw out bigger groups after 2 hours to make room.
In summary: If you live locally, get a brilliant, outstanding takeaway, but if you're staying in don't expect to have a grand old time with your friends
A. D.
I have eaten in the Finchley branch, I took away from here last night - the food is no doubt brilliant, thats why I always come back, though I think the portion size could be more generous given the price, or a lower price given the portion size.
E. N.
I would say this is the best restaurant in London, food always amazing and very tasty and FRESH. Service always very quick without a long wait for your food. The chefs are working quicker than a clock. I do suggest to get a reservation ahead if you plan to dine in on Friday and Saturday evening, as the restaurant is always busy. The pita bread here is definitely the best in town, but not just the bread, rest of the food is top also. Bravo 👌
S. M.
Good, but not as great as it used to be. Mixed grill was mostly lovely although lamb shish was really chewy. The mixed grill is great value but lacks any accompanying sauces. Great atmosphere and a must if you love meat!
M. M.
Some of the best Turkish food I’ve had along this stretch of Green Lanes. Delicious. You either come here on an empty stomach or order very little. Portions are generous to say the least and prices comparable to everywhere else along the road. Fantastic. Will be returning.
P. F.
Some of the best Iskender I've ever had. Only the service can be a bit cold and hectic, which is understandable considering how crowded the place usually is.
H. O.
nice place but while eating they may ask to change your table. Service can be better but the food is worth it.

Food was amazing. Salad tasted fresh as all the rest of the dishes. The place is quite big and it was full. Yet we didn't wait long for our food.

Best Turkish restaurant in town! We had so much food we had to bring some back home in doggy bags. The service was ok, the food astonishingly good. Love the free salad as a starter and the complimentary tea. I'll go back without a doubt.

Service was great. The food came quickly, the bread and salad were really good. Vivid deep red coloured pickled cabbage was a highlight. Perfect for cutting through the fatty and rich meat. Speaking of the chicken it was well seasoned and juicy. Well worth paying a little extra for. The portion was so generous I ended up taking some away with me. Highly recommended

Cosy and warm environment and delicious food.
Service could be better however whatever you ask they gonna look after you but you need to ask them .😊
I’ll go back there for sure😋

In terms of food, this place is pretty much the top tier. The meat is so good you don't even to add sauce! It is expensive for what it is, but honestly for the odd special occasion, it's worth it.
Service definitely needs work. The staff ignore customers and they become explicitly rude when you ask to adjust the service charge: the food is costly enough, we can't all afford to give away an odd £20, especially if we've been treated poor.
It's still definitely worth it for special occasions, but don't be afraid to remove the service charge!

One of the best Turkish restaurants in London, if not the best. Frindly staff, delicious ethnic turkish food reasonable priced. Whenever we are in London we always end up there.

The turkish food here is a lot better than any place I went to in Istanbul. The service is fast and staff are very friendly. The food is great and there's only one other spot on Green Lanes that matches their level.
I usually go for the Turkish breakfast - the mediterranean one. The butter and honeycomb combination is amazing and I always look forward to it.

Nice restaurant in a Turkish corner of London. Food selection is great, delicious pide (my son loves it), generous entry salad portions, good meat selection, gluten free options (my wife is gluten intolerant) and last but not least smiley and gentle staff.
Plenty of space for family lunches on Sunday.
Yes we love this place.

The food is amazing. The grilled meat is very good. I've pretty much tasted everything on their menu and have no complaints.
I am giving them a 3 star rating, cause one time I was (un)lucky to seat at a table that had a view over the bread station and I noticed that they re-serve the leftovers from other tables. So if you didn't finish the bread in your bread basket, it will most likely end up at another table, served to other people.
I still go back to their restaurant, but skip the bread altogether!
