Reviews of Indian Alley

As good an Indian meal as you can get in a tourist spot. I Dropped in late afternoon on Dec 31 with low expectations but was impressed by the depth of spice on the tarka dal. Breads were good. Samosas were small but delicious and the tamarind dip was thick and like a treacle. Previous complaints about the papri chaat have clearly been heeded as mine was too big to finish.
The host was accommodating (willing to serve dishes not on the menu, including a mango lassi which I got despite ordering the pina colada) but I wish he had worn a mask, given the many other COVID protocols clearly in place, including single use utensils and dishes.
The overall vibe is fun and I enjoyed the decor and projected moving images of a kitchen in India.
Also hats off to whichever baller was just playing an entire Rolling Stones album. That was ace and made my dinner a joy.

Biryani, Saag Aloo and Chhole. I must say this place did suprise me. I wasn't expecting much but actually what we got was delicious. They were friendly and talked to us about the food. I'm looking forward to going back to try some more of their dishes. It's a bit uninviting from the outside and the venue does need some livening up but give it a go, I'm glad I did.

Food was overpriced with barely any lamb in the Rogan Josh and they charged a 7% service fee. Many much better places in the city.

Authentic Indian flavours. Staff were patient and helpful. Plenty of Outdoor and indoor seating available. Overall good experience.
