Reviews of Indian Gourmet
A. C.
We got the chicken Jalfrezi and the Lal Maas, with Pulau rice. Let me say it was my first time trying out an Indian meal. Guess I didn't know what I was missing out on. I loved how tasty the food was and very spicy. You can taste the herbs and spices 😍. Definitely worth it. I'm open to trying different meals. So I will be going back soon .
Customer service was excellent, the young lady who attended to us. 5 star ✨.

Visited with my partner late Sunday evening. Very solid curry house on Borough High Street! Food and service was all brilliant and couldn't fault the food at all! Would recommend booking if going at popular times!
Heavily recommend the Saag Chicken which was delicious!
Two people, poppadom starters, two curries, Pilau rice and lemonades ~ £46ish
A.
The best Indian food in London by a mile. Lovely service. Each dish has its own completely unique flavour profile - these dishes are made to taste as they are traditionally supposed to taste. No bulk base being added to each curry so that they all somehow taste the same. We ordered starters and two curry's along with a biriyani full of lamb throughout. Rolled home after that but it was worth it. Without question the only Indian we'll be eating and will be recommending it to everyone.
J. S.
Really nice food and great service, waiter kept coming back to fill up water which was appreciated. Food came quickly as well

The local Indian restaurant everyone wish they had. We’ve been ordering takeout from Indian gourmet regularly (1-2 a month) for over a year and it’s absolutely exceptional every time. The flavour and tenderness of their curries is among the best I’ve ever had in the UK but their consistency is equally remarkable. The restaurant itself is also very cozy with a very welcoming staff. A true gem.

Due to pandemic, we ordered foods via Ubereats or Deliveroo more often instead of dine in at the local restaurants. We love Indian foods therefore we found Indian Gourmet and give it a try. The taste of curry is good but the portion is small , the fish curry taste is good and spicy but the taste and the texture of the fish is weird! Ee ordered 4 pieces of papadams but it was cracked and seems like only 2 pieces or leftover papadums, so disgusting and dissatisfied!!
I give 3 out of 5 stars, deducted 2 points,
-1 point due to small portion,
-1 point due to I paid for 4 pieces papadums but It was cracked and seems like 2 pieces or leftover pieces.
I never snap any foods pictures feel so upsetting, I was dissatisfied due to overall experience on the takeaway order with them!

This place is amazing, we are visiting London from San Diego, CA, and we were looking for good Indian food, and the food exceeded our expectations, and the customer service is absolutely GREAT. Thank you for the yummy food and delicious pistachio ice cream ❤️
M. L.
Really amazing food. We were pleasantly surprised with the tenderness and freshness of each dish. Everything was so flavourful. Definitely a must !
T. S.
The food was very good and good value for money. The service was friendly but didn't match the quality of the food. Almost every interaction was slightly off, for example after the bill arrived, no one seemed to want to take the actual payment. I would still be delighted to come back.
J.
Been eating my way through the menu the past few months and found everything was delicious ! Good size portions and no complaints at all.
Very close to Borough Market and London Bridge station .
Highly recommend.

My favourite Indian in the area and a true must visit for any Indian food lover. You will not be dissapointed as Indian Gourmet offers an extraordinary price and quality combo. My favourites are veg samosa chat, bhajia, butter chicken curry, Kori gassi (spicy), lamb roganjosh, dal and obligatory poppadoms with chutneys. Dining in (in normal circumstances) and delivery are available. You might even get some discount on deliveroo 😊. With delivery I recommend to opt in for one of their meal deals for a decent price (35£ for 2).
K. R.
Food here genuinely stands out as a real home-style food. Reasonably short menu and very good value. Service is on another level - smooth and attentive without unnecessary interuption. Staff are friendly, welcoming and courteous. A must try place if you in the area. Great find.
T. K.
Unusual and interesting menu exploring India’s regions, beautiful flavours, colourful presentation. Cosy and comfortable restaurant with a convenient location on the high street. Friendly and personal service

Had to cancel my reservation last minute for personal reasons, and the owner called me back and was so understanding and kind. They did not charge a cancellation fee like most other places would. I have eaten here in the past and the food is so delicious. The place inside is also very cosy. Highly recommend.
T. S.
Visited this place after a quick Google and turned out to amazing. Probably the BEST butter chicken i have ever tasted food and staff was soo on point
S. G.
Came here for Valentine's Day and it was an interesting - and largely good - experience.
We waited about ten mins at the door [though we had a reservation] and were seated on a small table between two others. I had asked for a corner table but I know not all such requests can be met so I didn't comment on it.
The Valentine's set menu was put in front of us. It was small and I didn't like the look of anything on it, so I asked for the normal menu, to be told it was only the set menu they were doing that night. I commented to the waiter, "you're joking" to which the couple next to us overheard and replied, "no, they're not, we were annoyed as well". I was shocked and very irritated, since the choices felt highly limiting.
I spoke to the manager who soon enough agreed to accommodate me and serve something not on the menu. We agreed to a main of Chicken Jalfrezi. When the food came, to be fair, it was very good. It had a lot of flavour and heat, and deserved the "gourmet" description. The fish curry was also very good, though not normally my thing.
I would like to come back at some stage to see what else they would serve on a normal night! My recommendation to the restaurant is this: by all means have a set menu for Valentine's Day, but please include more familiar dishes and variety. Butter chicken was a nice idea for those that like it, but also include a jalfrezi/vindaloo, non-creamy dishes like rogan josh etc, and other known popular dishes so that people feel instantly that there is something they can relate to more. Also please make the print bigger about the side dishes [e.g. sag aloo etc] since the print was very small and I missed the mention of the side dishes altogether until they were pointed out to me.
Overall a good night though, and we really appreciated being moved to a better table when it was free. We live locally so will be back at some stage.

Ordered Butter Chicken for mains, garlic chicken and garlic paneer for starters. The butter chicken tasts good with the authentic flavour, however the starters didnt taste that great. They were nearly tasteless and a bit on the tangy and salty side. Would recommend the butter chicken from here if you want the real indian butter chicken flavour.

Amazingly tasty Indian food! I don’t usually leave reviews but it was just so fantastic felt this place deserved the credit, right next to London Bridge but not in the main tourist spot perfect chilled meal. Spinach garlic prawn dish I ordered was incredible and my sister loved the vegan menu! Amazing value even the wine was the best! Lovely staff too, what a great find! Will be back!
R. K.
Exceptionally good food and faultless service. Very friendly host. This was our first visit and not going to be last. The restaurant was full on Sunday evening. Great find - Gem in the heart of London Bridge.
P. T.
Absolute delight pls book in advance .
Staffs are very courteous and friendly .
J. P.
Best Indian I had in ages! It was tasty, perfectly cooked and organised and labelled in the delivery which is so rare! The lamb in my curry was smooth and tasty, I could cut it with a spoon.
We ordered through Deliveroo and the only thing I could possibly hold against them was that my meat samosas seemed to have been swapped for veggies ones but honestly they were so good I didn’t even care haha
A.
Celebrating a birthday with 6 others and everyone was really impressed. Both the service and the food were excellent. Service was attentive, discreet and friendly. Food portions were well-presented, good size and flavourful. Would definitely go again. All in all a lovely night out.
B. B.
Lovely local restaurant small in size but rich in flavour. There are 100 good reasons why this restaurant has been raked so highly and you have to try it to fully understand it. The Tawa Lamb Fry was absolutely rich in indian spices and flavour. The Gost Banjara was superb. The spice courtly guided in pestle carried a tremendousamountof flavour for the sauce, the tender lamb, the rice pilaf. All in all the perfect Indian dinner and I say that in a city known for its phenomenal Indian cuisine. I would very much come back here again.
R. P.
Very good. Surpassed our initial expectations. Some good authentic flavours. Green tea mojitos went down very well.
J. s.
Probably the best Indian meal me and my husband have ever had! A menu of well chosen and superbly cooked dishes. Service really friendly. Good sized curry portions. A really great night out!!
M. Z.
We had a great time dining here. The staff was lovely and on point, we even got a starter as a treat. The food is was great and the portion very reasonable. Only constructive suggestion we could give is to have a small portion of either rice or naan already included with the mains.
E. W.
Well labelled food catering to everyone. As a gluten free vegetarian there’s PLENTY of choice here.
I’ve just moved nearby and I’ve now been 3x. The staff are INCREDIBLE and friendly, they always seem to go above and beyond. Suni is just awesome and has a great natural banter - it seems with everyone! Whenever I see her another table everyone seems to be enjoying her!
The food is amazing, every dish I try I’m always blown away by how good it is. Even their kind of standard dishes are next level! Their onion bajhis, which Ive always thought of as an afterthought side, are BEAUTIFUL.
I’m sure I’ll be here a lot given that I’ve lived here 5 weeks and been 3x.
V. A.
Great flavours and I love that they have some dishes which are not typically found in Indian restaurants (eg south indian Poriyal). Agree with other reviewer that the dishes are all different unlike some Indian restaurants where everything tastes the same. Great job!
K. N.
My partner and I turned up without a booking on 29/09/21. We were very lucky that they were able to fit us in. The Staff were very friendly and helpful, the food was amazing and really good value. Would definitely recommend.
A. D.
First time visit. Service brilliant. This has been a first class experience,.we must admit this has been one of the best indian meal ,we have had in a long time. .Enjoy.
J. F.
Amazing experience. Cozy atmosphere. Great service. Complying with all the new covid rules.
I strongly recommend the black lentils with malai naan - it’s a perfect combo.
Price is fair and quality is outstanding. Will definitely come back again.
A.
Ordered chicken jalfrezi and garlic naan. I ordered at the store and take away the food. The place was cozy and the manager(?) was really kind. Curry was great too. :) Also the price is very reasonable!
A. R.
Very good place and friendly staff.very good food.mr Raj the manager very polite and calm.
T. T.
An exquisite Indian meal had since the Covid pandemic started. Great food prepared with pride and service with a smile. Had thoroughly enjotable evening and will be back soon.
S. B.
Fantastic food and service, probably the best Indian restaurant I’ve visited in London. I had the “gipsy” lamb curry which was rich and spicy. Naans & parathas also delicious.
A. A.
Delicious quality food that is comparable to Dishoom with a more authentic feel. Service is also great ! Recommend the lamb biryani, eggplant curry, malai kofta and the naan breads ! So good !
M. S.
One of our friends who lives locally took us here for dinner. The staff were extremely friendly and the food was absolutely fantastic. Will be dreaming of this Indian for a while
M. A.
Great food, nice people. The owner chased us up the road to return a mobile phone we'd left on the table.
C. P.
We had such a lovely meal with very kind staff who looked after my two boys so well too. Thank you 😊
A. B.
Have been a few times and the service has always been great. Last went in July and food and service was superb.
Little bit pricey but you get what you pay for.
S. C.
The food was nice but it took so long to be served and have our food finally arrive. Waited around an hour between ordering and eating. Unfortunately seemed to prioritise takeaway over customers visiting the restaurant.
L. B.
The best Indian place we have been too! Absolutely amazing. Such a delicious food and amazing prices!
A. V.
Had an amazing night here. Food was great. Place is very unpretentious but with a high quality feel
Z. T.
Myself and my Fiancé had food from Indian Gourmet
several times while visiting London from Belfast, we have never tasted Indian food this good, and the service was also amazing. We ordered takeaway one night and the price and quality of the food was exceptional, the portions were very good also. Thank you!
G. B.
Picked up food from the restaurant today. It was a small order but really enjoyed the dishes. Especially loved how authentic the paranthas were. Overall the food felt light and flavourful. Not greasy and hot like several other Indian restaurants. Good range of options for vegetarians. I will be returning!
P. 5.
Exceptionally friendly staff, very good quality food and cosy restaurant. Deserves a great success. Highly recommended.
A. C.
We have tried so many Indian restaurants and this one is officially the best. All of the dishes we had were Fresh, tasty and truly gourmet Indian food. The mint sauce and butter chicken were outstanding. Highly recommend!!
L. M.
I picked up food from this place via Uber eats and it was really good! The papads (even without the chutney), vegetable monos with the dip and aloo tikka chaat (vegan) were all really delicious. I ordered the veg canapé from which I loved the samosa (reminded me of India) and the paneer tikka the most.
It’s hard to find authentic Indian restaurants in a place like central London, especially London Bridge so I am very impressed with the food. I’d love to go dine there the next time x
S. P.
Absolutely amazing food and service, cannot recommend this place highly enough! Some of the tastiest Indian food we've had in London and great value for money. Raj's service is second to none, he is so polite and friendly, always remembers us and it feels like we are coming home every time we eat here or pick up a takeaway. He's even brought out experimental dishes for us to try (free of charge) to get our opinion before adding them to the menu - just goes to show much they value their customers. Seriously you must try this place you will not regret it!
D. O.
Not surprised at all to see this place with a 4.9 rating. Restaurant standard cooking at an affordable price. Their dum biryani is one of my all-time favourites. And they're one of the only places that makes an onion bhaji that travels well and stays crunchy. Keep up the good work!
H. B.
By far my favourite go to for Indian food. I discovered this place not long after moving into the area. The owner welcomed my friends and I as if we were regulars from our very first visit. The food is always fantastic whether in the restaurant itself or when we have ordered in during lockdown. Highly recommended.
R. H.
Great Indian food, ask for the recommendations from the staff and you won’t be disappointed. New restaurant, friendly staff, phenomenal food.
S. T.
Very friendly staff and good service.Best Indian food I have ever had in london.
N. S.
Amazing food - have eaten here multiple times and loved every dish and Raj the owner is very friendly and offers impeccable service. A real gem in the heart of London Bridge! Easily one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve eaten at.
M. H.
Best Indian Food - ever
The best food, but also amazingly friendly, knowledgable staff. Could not recommend enough.
a. a.
Great Panner curry and naan. Not that expensive yet quite delicious food.
A. F.
Great service, great food. Will very happily go back again.
The restaurant is relatively new, found that out chatting with the friendly staff.
Given they seem to read these reviews I will provide some constructive feedback. The food and service is so good it warrants a nicer ambience. May I suggest adjusting the lighting levels down just a little bit and try some different lighting techniques.
I hope this restaurant succeeds!
S. T.
Authentic indian food with freindly staff. We tried vegetarian food and it was lovely with lot of varities. Malai kofta was the best. It is the most difficult dish to get right and hence proves they have good chef with good understanding of indian food. Mango lassi was amazing and we all were surprised how good that drink turned out to be. If you want authentic indian food and not food made by pre made sauces/gravy like many in London indian gourmet is the place to go.
S. S.
Fantastic food and staff. Visited with our children last night. Most tender lamb I've ever tasted. Highly recommend.
A. S.
Amazing host, warm and welcoming. Delicious indian food. We started with Aloo Tikki Chat, loved it. Great level of hygiene in common areas, all COVID distancing rules followed here. Happy with the Quality food, and it was real tasty too.
C. M.
Very enjoyable lunch here. The restaurant is new and clearly a few minor teething pains. The "set menu" lunch was the right quantity, flavour and price. The waitress made every attempt to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. I am looking forward to future visits and I am sure when life gets back to "normal" this will be a popular venue.
J. W.
Excellent Indian restaurant. Friendly and polite service. Very tasty food
E. R. F.
Amazing food and good customer service. We will come back!
G. K.
Excellent Service ,fantastic food ,great value
m.
The manager Raj was very helpful, especially with it being lockdown in London. The food was ready very quickly, was very tasty and they were very accommodating to provide plates so that we could enjoy our lovely takeaway meal. Will definitely be visiting here again on our next visit to London.
T. C.
Popped in for lunch. Reasonable prices and decent food. Don't expect fastfood style speed.
N.
AMAZING food!! Definately recommed! We had the Lamb kebabs, Chilli chicken and Chicken Momo's for starters and chicken biriyani, Butter chicken and naan as mains. Everything was so tasty and spot on!! Will come again for sure!! Service was outstanding! Special shoutout to Raj, the owner, such a friendly guy and lovely staff.
M. P.
Delicious genuine Indian cuisine, very good service, pleasant atmosphere and reasonable price
J.
Great food, great staff and a very enjoyable experience, I can truly recommend this place.
L. H.
Excellent food. Lucky to get a table as a walk-in.
n. j.
Nice Food Friendly staff best Indian I have been to in London.
S. C.
Genuinely the best curry I have ever had in the UK. Having travelled to India many times, I have never managed to find a curry restaurant in the UK that serves authentic Indian curry. Indian Gourmet transported us back to India with their incredible flavours and delicious currys. Highly recommend you visit.
c. c.
Food was first class, the staff were absolutely fantastic and friendly the whole restaurant was totally family friendly I think this is the most perfect Indian restaurant in the whole of London I will certainly be back with my family again.
M. V.
Great food, great customer service, great value for money. Raj was great on the phone. Suni and her colleague looked after me and my family well. Recommend this place for sure
C. F.
We visited this fairly new Indian restaurant last night and we could not recommend it enough! Service was great- all staff was very attentive and the food was very tasty. Also we were impressed with the effort they’ve made to keep the restaurant safe with Perspex dividers between tables and all staff wearing masks.
We will definitely come back!
Y. E.
This is AAMAAAZING! I chose it spontaneously and it was the highlight of a Friday right! The Biryani is out of this world! The person in the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. Definitely became one of my favourite places from the first meal.
A. M.
We recently had dinner at this lovely new Indian restaurant. Great food, very tasty - wish we had made more room in our stomachs to try the starters! Good covid19 precautions as well, would definitely return and also recommend!
V. K.
We have been coming regularly since 04-July for lunch buffet and it has been ana amazing experience. Good quality is 10/10; right amount of hotness, taste, etc. Raj the owner is very pleasant to deal with. Must try: fish curry, biryani, butter chicken!
Thanks guys for awesome service!
L. B.
Some of the most authentic and delicious Indian food we’ve had in the U.K. The Kerala fish curry was unbelievably good. Yellow Dahl was also amazing.
R.
Great food and service. I was impressed with both Starters and mains, all reasonably priced for the area. The owner goes out of his way to please. We will definitely be returning, hopefully to dine in once lockdown is over.
S. C.
It’s always so busy so had it delivered.. was not impressed! Maybe it’s much better at the restaurant
V. P.
Warm welcome and the food was great, must try the lamb chops they were amazing. They also treated my daughter to a little cake as it was her birthday which she loved. Thanks for a great evening!
M. C.
Probably one of the best Indian places in London. The naan is fresh, flavorful meals, helpful tips when ordering from Deliveroo about spiciness. Also got a complimentary papadom which was a nice surprise.
F. D.
The food here is delicious, fresh and at a great price. I really like the lamb biryani, kori gassi and the Amritsari fish. Highly recommend!
L. C.
A great Indian Cuisine addition to London Bridge. Despite Covid-19 there were few tables on Friday night (yesterday). We were very pleased with the food. Vinyl clear curtain between tables was a huge bonus for Diners on this current climate. A must try place.
s. g.
Absolutely beautiful meal... the best I've had in a long time.
J. Y.
We're really glad we stumbled across Indian Gourmet, the portions were great and both our meals were delicious. Raj was really friendly and the hanging dividers were welcomed for us trying to keep socially distant.
K. N.
Good ambiance, delicious food, friendly service!
We tried it yesterday. We ordered Malai Kofta, Palak Paneer, Dal Makhani, and Bhindi. All of these dishes were splended! It had flavour but not too spicy and not oily. The mango lassi was lovely too. I highly recommend this place.
A. R.
Amazing food! Nice and clean.
Visited again recently Feb 2022 and still very impressive food and service.
M. M.
Tried it for the lunch buffet and was very impressed! Great food at a very reasonable price for the amount you get! Good selection of dishes and huge portions. Service was excellent too - lovely chap! Would highly recommend!
A. S.
Definitely one of the best Indian joints we have tried in London. Curries were flavourful, meat was well cooked and the naan was delicious. Great service and reasonably priced as well.
A. F.
Really tasty, creative dishes. Reasonably priced. Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Will definitely return!
M. M.
Simply amazing. Brilliant customer service and perfect food. Great value too, for central London it has the prices of outer London. Highly recommend it.
M. M.
Delicious takeaway! First time and won’t be the last, the chicken korma was amazing.
S. D.
Went here after after reading other reviews which are extremely good. I am glad I did. Not only was the food excellent, the service was particularly fantastic. Suni was taking care of our table, and she was amazing
K. W.
Amazing food! The couples meal deal was great and I got to taste so many flavors in one meal. Highly recommend
C. E.
Another stellar meal at this underrated restaurant. Once again we left much of the choice of what we were to eat to our charming hosts and once again we left filled with their outstanding ‘home style’ cuisine and smiling. Highly recommended.
K. G.
Great value compared to other Indians in the area. Loved the food too, some surprising dishes on the menu. Even simple things like garlic naan were remarkably well done!
K. H.
Such a lovely meal - probably one of the best Indians I have had and the staff were nice and friendly too.
Will definitely eatting there again and will be recommending it to my friends and family.
A. P.
We found Indian Gourmet on Deliveroo and it is, in one word - Superb! I judge an Indian restaurant by its biryani and Indian Gourmet’s is delicious. If you want left overs, order 2, because it’s impossible to stop!
T. L.
This Indian Restaurant is the best Indian food I have tasted, very helpful with choice of dishes and great Service. 5 out of 5 for me, try it for yourself 👌👍

Absolutely incredible food and really good service. Raj the manager is fantastic. Really recommend a visit. My favourite Indian food in London
V. H.
I made an online order, when it came they forgot the naan, I was a bit disappointed but thought oh well, and then within 10 minutes they had a new delivery arrive with two naans, a small bottle of prosecco and a note to say sorry for forgetting the naan! Fantastic service, and the food was very good!
J. H.
What a wonderful meal. Exquisite dishes, a curated menu and beautiful staff who were very attentive and sweet. My personal favourite was the paneer makhani, delicious! Thank you, we'll be back!

Saw this place and decided to try it out, the experience was definitely a pleasant surprise! Authentic Indian taste. Tried dal makhni, matar paneer, Naan, biryani and dessert! All were delicious! Value for money!!
P. C.
Top notch, proper indian food for incredibly low prices. If you weren’t drinking I think you could eat two courses for under £20

Having visited 20+ Indian restaurants in London, this place is an absolute best. Excellent food, great service. Everything I tried was very good, but Kori Gassi and birianis are my favorites :)
