Kar Woo, is one of the best Chinese takeaways in London. The menu has a lot of varieties to choose from! I recommend to get Naga with your food, as it takes the taste to another level!

Have not ordered from here in few years now and was looking forward to it. Chicken chow mein and beef fried rice was somewhat tasty and spicy. Room for improvement though especially with the price being paid. Surprising how a non-Chinese owned place is serving better food than other Chinese owned establishments in East London. Rating is reflective of poor performing competition in Chinese food in east London, slightly bumped up this review. Even though not as good as the glory days 2000-2010.

Very good food. Tried chicken sweet n sour and crispy shredded beef. Both dishes were really good. Waiting time after the order was around 12 min which isnt bad as I was craving for some good Chinese food. Next time I will order on the phone.

Very good customer service from the brothers. I went in yesterday and bought 7 chicken chow mein with whole nagas, 7 Singapore fried rice and curry chips. The brother serving me gave me a estimate time of 20mins and true to his words it was all done in that time. All the food was delicious, I have no complaints at all. Took the food home without any spillage as the food was packaged well and most of all the manners and service was great. Will be going back

I really don't get why this place is popular it's basically Chinese and if you want an option of naga which is a hot chilli then you can put some apart from that you can get all the se things in a normal Chinese takeaway I guess it's more for the bengali people in this area.would say ots nice but not special just different from a Chinese shop because you can have burgers,fish and chips.

Really flavoursome food, big portions, fair on price. The chow mein, curry chips, salt and pepper wings are our favourites and all delicious. You can order over the phone or in person, though on the phone it's often hard to get through at peak times.

Usually, most Chinese takeaways disappoint me so I rarely order it unless it’s from my local spot in south london. But this was my first time ordering from here and it might just be my favourite! I only ordered a small fried rice and wings because I was worried but the chef made it as perfectly as if he was cooking a banquet for an empress! And the service - from telephone to pickup - was brilliant, helpful and most importantly cheerful! I seriously recommend you try this place and if you don’t like the food, you can rest assured that the problem isn’t them - it’s you!

I have never been a fan of Chinese food but after many years of people recommending me to try out Karwoo, i finally decided to go ahead. I am shocked at how delicious it is and will definitely go back for more. I bought the beef chow mein in small but now i really wish i got the large, its spicy and just delicious (i took the picture after taking a couple bites, i couldnt help myself). They also fill the container up so much it looks like its going to burst and the workers are so nice, i bought this following the cashiers recommendation.

Overall, they are quite good. Food is nice although they have been better and with prices going up, didn't except quality to drop. I do usually order rice or chow mein, with curry chip roll (always a must). Curry chip roll quantity has gone down, but still taste nice - can't go wrong with that. Another thing, all orders either come no spice or naga, there doesn't seem to be anything in between. Last time I ordered, I didn't want it bland and they said extra for naga and I didn't want naga spicy so had to go with no spice. Why can't they include medium instead of adding more price to it?? I am so surprised they don't accept cards! Who doesn't at this time?

Really good place to try out halal Chinese food, The food is really nice, if you guys wanna try Chinese I'd say give it a try here. The only negative I think of is that the line is super long, the waiting is super long so keep that in mind when going in and ordering, I'd recommend you call up before you go in so that the ordered waiting time is less.

Beef fried rice is still good but they use very low quality beef that tastes like rubber. They used to have decent quality beef before. Everything else in the menu is good. But unfortunately I can't give 5 stars because my favourite dish uses low quality ingredients.

A friend of mine introduced me to this place as her local and I can from say the few times I've now eaten from here I have been satisfied and never had any issues with the food, its amazing! Usually we would get the Singapore noodles with black bean beef, chicken chow mein, sweetcorn and mushroom soup and also a portion of chips and its totally a cheap eat and tastes great. Only real mentionable issues I've had with he restaurant itself is that they still run on the archaic cash payment only function, parking is difficult when we need to get the food to collect, sometimes the spice level isn't recorded on the order properly and almost blown our heads off but we still handle eating it, and service on the phone is not entirely quality customer service but its not entirely the worst...! Overall, the food is on point everything else has room for improvement

If anyone thinks this is the best Chinese in the area then I don't know what to say. They lack good experiences. It's a low bar but pretty much every take-away nearby is better. The food is very average and their curry just doesn't taste right. I don't know how you mess up a curry, it's a very standard dish. Golden Dragon and Noodle Street is much better. Golden Dragon is cheap and cheerful but tasty. Noodle Street is more expensive but you get what you pay for. I try this place every year and I have lived here for over ten years and every time I go it's disappointing. Also they don't social distance their customers. Most don't wear masks and the staff don't tell them to wait outside.

I come to this place every chance I get on my travels to East London and I'm never disappointed with the service or food. Authentic Chinese food cooked by Chinese people and sometimes with a twist of hot chillies thrown in which is not for the faint hearted. What is there not to like. Food is HMC so I never worry about what's in there. I have to admit that I was a bit apprehensive about the place the first time I went when I saw the Bengali front staff. That was put to rest when the Chinese chef came to give me my ordered food, LOL. The only drawback I've found is the wait. This place is unbelievably busy so make sure to call before you go or expect to wait for around half an hour if not more! Definitely worth the wait though.

I also had fried rice and chicken curry that was more than I was expecting. These guys were very busy but still churned out fresh and tasty food. Food is always good. Cant complain but service has been on a downward spiral. Too busy and too much too bare for them. No system in place. Always having to argue with other customers outside regarding who's ordered and who hasn't. One que for both which causes massive tension outside. But I guess its ok for them as long as the money is coming in. The lady inside can be very rude at times. Respected brothers of karwoo don't forget who's putting money in your pocket and for who your being so busy. Look after your customers and maybe spend some of that money investing in another door. Orders counter and collection counter. Its not rocket science. Saves a lot aggro outside.. would've been 5 stars if didn't face all those issues..

Best Halal Chinese in London. Travelled from North London to try the famous KAR WOOD. I was recommended Kar Woo by a friend and on a recent visit to Green Street we decided to stop by. The food is absolutely FANTASTIC, authentic and fresh. Navid was professional and advised us on the naga levels :) as I am new to Naga. Since our first visit, we have been back 6 times!!!!!!!!! The 40 minutes drive is no deterrent. Highly recommend this gem. Thank me later :)

A very lovely and spicy halal Chinese. Food is lovely. If you like spice, you'll love this place. However, they do tend to make mistake sometimes where for example you asked for mild but you end up getting lots of green chillies. They use naga spice in their food.

I have been having Kar Woo for over 10 years and I always loved the food there. I love the beef friend rice and the last time I had it just seemed something was off. The usual flavour was just not coming through. I noticed that the main change was that the previous owner (lady) was not around and as she was working there under new management, she kept the quality of taste running. I was really sad that the taste was not as good. It just seemed so dry! I’m really disappointed.

Trying Karwoo for the first time in a couple of years. I believe they are under new ownership since my last visit. I had ordered via the phone and was told the order would be ready in 25 minutes. Unfortunately I had to wait 45 minutes in total for the food. I had the chicken fried rice with chillies. This was really spicy which was to my liking. I always had curry chips which was really nice and flavours of curry sauce came out strong. I would definitely come back here again.

Food is wonderful and undoubtedly one of the best Chinese takeaways in London and possibly the best one in East London but they bumped me off, The beef chow mein and battered sausage was supposed to be £7.75 (checked the official website and in store) & instead I paid 9.15!!! What's worse is that the guy said it's £9.50 but when I Checked my wallet I realised I gave £9.15... the guy gave me the wrong change couldn't even bump me off properly 😂😁😛... if ur gonna bump someone off at least do a bloody job at It! On top of that my mate got bumped off as well 😂😂 But yes, aside from being bumped off the food was fabulous and like I said before one of the best Chinese places around but just be careful to check the prices and how much you pay to make sure the same thing doesn't happen to u. It was the first time I went so I'm allowing them off especially because the food was great but if it happens again u can bet the ratings will go down! Every one deserves second chances so on this occasion I'll let it pass!!! Worth a try doe!

Again reviewing a establishment with petty complaint. Incase you didn't know , to make a food hotter ,you need additional chilli , and peppers which costs money.. 90% of all restaurant do that. Excellent Chinese food for its price range, great spicey choices and flavours all round, I'd recommend the Special Fried Rice with Quarter Naga Chicken, fragrant, enough spice even for beginners, flavoursome and unique from other sources. A little over rated in my opinion. I like that we have a halal chinese in a Muslim sense area. However, the prices for add ons like sauce and chilli are ridiculous. Food isn't always consistent. Always worth a try though.
