Reviews of Khan's of Kensington
K. P.
A very pleasant place to enjoy a good curry. Low key and quite informal, the staff a nice and service was reasonable. Not a posh place and the naans were a little too crispy but over all not bad. The mutton korma was particularly tasty.
L. L.
I gave three stars because the waiter was nice. The food wasn’t very good and the prices high for the quality of food. I ordered chicken tikka masala, not good. The sauce just tasted like tomato sauce. Not flavorful like you’d expect from Indian food. I don’t recommend this place at all. London is filled with amazing Indian cuisine, look elsewhere.
P. E.
A delightful menu with a good range of subtly flavoured dishes on offer. Think ‘fragrant and delicate’ rather than hot and spicy. So many other Indian restaurants are high on heat but low on flavour! Lovely busy atmosphere but quick service and very friendly. A good test of a restaurant is how you are welcomed as a single diner. Khan’s will make you feel at home.
H. E.
I ordered my meal to go but the store front and dining room were cute. I ordered Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Tikka Masala, Punjabi veggie samosas, & garlic naan. Everything was decent (I took the photo after I snarfed it all down 😅) however nothing was spicy. It was all mostly sweet. That might be something they can adjust for you if you order-in but since I ordered take-out there wasn’t an option to select spice levels. I’d go again but specifically ask for more spicy.
B. L.
Great food and very friendly and attentive service. Relaxed atmosphere, tasty curries, and good fun!
D. E.
Food was fantastic! Great samosas, which for me, is a deal breaker. Chili fried lamb was wonderful!! Garlic green beans made it through. I could have eaten more of those!! Great service as well! Went down well with a nice bottle of Malbec.
A. C.
Average and bland food.
I ordered lamb biryani and butter chicken from here for takeout. The order was made very quickly. Serving sizes are fine. And the prices, while perhaps high for London, are on par with other Indian restaurants in Kensington & Chelsea.
But the food was incredibly bland, with little flavour - most of the flavour came from the meat and very little from the curry/etc. I actually got worried and took a lateral flow test to check whether I had COVID and was starting to lose my taste.
Recommend going somewhere else - there are lots of other Indian restaurants nearby. You’ll find something better.
A. K.
Loved this place! We had the butter chicken and the lamb curry. Amazing Naan & the chef made our dishes to the exact spice level we wanted. Will definitely be back!
K. W.
What a wonderful evening at this lovely Indian restaurant! We ordered butter chicken or most commonly known as the chicken tikka masala with some naan, rice and some vegetable to complement the food. The blend of flavours is something which is extremely hard to come by at restaurants and khans have got it spot on. We will surely be back soon and will recommend to all our friends and families - undoubtedly they will love to try some of your amazing dishes after our visit. Thanks for making our evening such a enjoyable success. I would easily give 10/10 if there was an option. Quite simply breathtaking!
G. B.
Much enjoyed curry. Not the first time I have eaten here nor will it be the last.
Unpretentious decent Indian food at a reasonable cost. Not cheap but not too dear either.
H. W.
All smiles after fabulous food! We highly recommend this fabulous restaurant just around the corner from the V&A and the Natural History museums. Definitely worth a little trott around the corner for their curries, toastie naan breads and amazing sweets! Best to choose this fabulous independent over the surrounding chains…
N. D.
Lovely food great atmosphere. The curries were amazing and the staff very friendly. I would highly recommend.
M. S. “. A.
A really great pleasant experience! The menu is different to what you would expect from a standard Indian restaurant. The service was great and had a serene vibe to it. Food was very subtle and not very bashy; my particular favorite was the chili lamb. It was something really different and sort of excited my taste buds 😂! Good food and experience would reccomend everyone to give it a try
R. A.
We tried the lamb biryani and raita meat rogan josh and both were amazing
The quality of the meat , the way its cooked, the amount of spices were just right
The restaurant is cozy and comfortable
Prices are very responsible
I recommend to try if you are here in london
P. H.
Amazing fresh food with great flavours. Would highly recommend.
Really friendly staff with a great atmosphere. Five star!
A.
It's delicious indian restaurants with perfect perfect service and welcoming..
D. N. K.
Its not the real authentic Indian food. Didn't like the taste much. service was also poor and slow. Won't recommend if you want to try indian for first time
S.
Went here after staying in a local hotel. Service was great and the food was delicious. We had the butter chicken which was extremely creamy and tasty and the jalfrezi (we asked for it extra spicy which they were happy to do) and a lovely light garlic nan. Looked to be a good mix of locals and people visiting the area.
C. S.
Authentic, delicious Indian food, great atmosphere, really helpful and friendly staff. Very much looking forward to my next visit.
J. M.
A wonderful meal for 4! Really tasty food, friendly staff & a welcoming atmosphere. Loved the naan lids!
P. C.
Great food, we really enjoyed it, well cooked, perfect spices with fresh rice and Naan, Well worth a visit
S. C.
Delicious food, exemplary service, there’s nothing to fault about this extraordinary restaurant. Will definitely be visiting again soon.
P. D.
For our last meal in London it had to be Indian, and Khan's was the closest to the South Kensington near where we were staying. It was one of those lucky choices. Didn't know anything about it, turned out to one of the most enjoyable meals during our stay. The manager, Haroon, made some suggestions and we went with them. Everything was delicious, from the pepper prawn appetizer, a chicken dish cooked with fresh ginger & chilies and a mutton dish in a tangy yogurt sauce. Couldn't recommend Khan's enough. Its small with great service. Good Indian beers too.
J. H.
The aloo tikki is exceptionally good! Great location and nice atmosphere. Brilliant service too - the waiter has good recommendations.
M. v. T.
Fabulous service and food. Just what we needed. Quality at such a good price but the atmosphere is genuine and the care brilliant. Will be going back super soon. Thank you!
S. K.
Food was good and the service was prompt as well.
I ordered only papadum which came along with chutney and later I found that they have added price for chutney which should be either complimentary or they should not add it with out asking customer's.
E. P.
The food was so flavorful and delicious and the staff was extremely friendly! We will be coming back again!
J. S.
Was a GREAT find near the V&A Museum. Great variety of dishes! One of the restaurant owners gave us a dish recommendation for our 3rd dish and brought out some homemade Indian hot sauce when we said our food was too mild. My bf and I would recommend Khan's for anyone looking for quality Indian food!
M. L.
Great spot, fairly unassuming, inexpensive, and the food was excellent. Was in the area and just stopped in. Pleasantly surprised
B. S.
The food was lovely! The food was flavoursome especially their meat and the staff were very kind.
I would 100% recommend.
M. B.
Amazing. Quantity and quality for an indian dish. Best Biryani I've had, fish curry was also amazing. Maybe not the wine. Focus on the indian, because everything indian was so good.
E. D.
Lovely food, amazing service, such lovely people and would definitely recommend
A. M.
We came here with friends last night for an early dinner, we found this place on Google with good reviews so we decided to dine here. The service was okay and food was great. Everything they make seem to be fresh and well made. I would recommend this Indian cuisine to anyone close to this area as it should be one of the best in area.
Q. H.
This place was sooo good. The group really enjoyed our time. The green curry and garlic naan are a must.
g. T.
Very delicious food and very polite staff, and good price
M. H.
Expensive compared to other restaurant.
M. F.
Great restaurant excellent food very friendly staff, alot of famous celebrities and well known faces Frequent here, I would recommend to everyone
I. R.
Much recommended for those who wish to enjoy delicious Indian food in London. The staff was also very kind and helpful.
C. M.
I have to give it 5 stars, just had an excellent early dinner, lovely staff and was well looked after. Food was great as well. Right on the door of all the museums and the Royal Albert hall.. I will go for a drink there after the concert. If you like Indian food you must check out. ;)
R. W.
Awesome service (great hosts!), great prices & of course great food. Most highly recommended.
P. N.
We're very used to the delights of Nepalese food and occasional visits to Khan's left the impression of average Indian fare. However, after nearly 2 years, we went to Khan's again and ... wow ... the food was up there amongst the best we've ever had. Incredible flavours and colour. So, a monthly visit along with a couple who are one of their long standing customers will be planned. Absolutely wonderful.
D. Å.
Amazing food and service! Thank you so much!
Mahid did a very good job! Thank you! Highly recommended.
A. A.
The lamb buryany very delicious and the Lamb test very good
Restaurant clean
Stuff friendly
Ofcourse we will come back here again❤️
T. A.
Amazing food, incredibly lovely staff and fantastic service, only positive things to say!
I. A.
Amazing and delicious indian food, with great service and good prices.
Z. K.
Delicious mango lassi and creamy chicken. Easy-going, friendly, and fast-served.
B. E.
Very good curry house and a really nice waiter, green chicken curry is great, very hot !!
C. C. A.
It was my second visit to the restaurant (first one three years ago) and it's totally worth it. Very nice service. If you are visiting the museums you should check it out! Great Indian food!
C. S.
Very good quality food, the service was outstanding and the waiters are able to advise you in the best way! I would recommend 100%
A. M.
Great meal out with friends. Very friendly service and excellent curry.
G. P.
I spent ten days in London and this is definitely the best dinner I had! Food is incredibly tasty and they are super nice. Next time in London I'll be back for sure!
A. D.
Mutton achaar masala was good and the garlic naan was good as well. Its my first time eating Indian food outside so I can't really compare it to much but it was a place with solid food. Definitely recommend the mutton achaar with garlic naan combo.
D. C.
Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Staff made us instantly feel at home, food was outstanding, very reasonable prices. If you're in Kensington, don't hesitate, pay Khan's of Kensington a visit!
C. M.
Very friendly staff and lovely food. Definitely will be back !
A. A.
Really enjoyed our visit to Khan's of Kensington. The food was really delicious and the team were so accommodating for the children. Fantastic service and very reasonable prices. Will definitely be back!
A. K.
My experience at this restaurant was really lovely. On arrival, we immediately got a table and our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and the food. The food itself was anything but bland or unseasoned. Every dish was bursting with flavour and authenticity and each plate tasted like a different assortment of flavours, rather than it all tasting the same. I would definitely recommend the bhindi bhaji dish as a side as this was my personal favourite and a staple of Indian cuisine. Overall, I would recommend this to anyone who loves food and is willing to try all the flavours that an original Indian kitchen can offer. Definitively give it a try, its not far from Kensington Station at all.
Shout out to the manger who provided us the best of spices and the best of his wisdom!
C. G.
Super local restaurant, gréât food and lovely staff, very welcoming, definitely recommend
J. M.
Very tasty, great service, good price for the area. Would come back. If you want an Indian in this part of town this is the one...
K. O.
Really enjoyed my food at Khan’s this evening. Delicious Chicken Jalfrezi and the service was wonderful.
S. H.
The food was really good. Very tasty with just the right amount of spice. However the severs were rude and walked away from us when we asked for water. They charged us for food we never got.
M. a.
This my second time in this place as usual they did not disappoint me . Real flavour of Indian food . Tasty cousin and far prices.
Thanks
B. X.
First time here, absolutely fall in love with the food and the people. Recommend without reservations to anyone who’s looking for some quality Indian cuisines in London. ps. the mango fruit is a must try!
K. D.
Absolutely amazing first class food. Will go again.
P. A.
We had a wonderful meal here this evening. We got the special platter for two. The appetizers especially were delicious but we also enjoyed the naan and the mains. I particularly like the lamb dish. The staff were very friendly.
L. H.
Friendly, cozy, well prepared and cooked food (all our dishes felt fresh), good atmosphere
W. B.
Delicious food and wonderful service.
The biryani is a must.
A. K.
Superb gastronomic experience at Khan's restaurant. My husband was craving for Indian food after a long walk at Kensington gardens. The place is really nice and the walls were adorned with Indian decors. It's a special feeling FOOD Delivery could never replace.
We ordered chicken biryani and king prawn masala. We're sold, we're eating here again. We'll come back on birthdays and every special event. And bring our visiting families and friends. "It's a constant assault of rich flavors," my husband said. Thank you Khan's restaurant and staff.
a. O.
Stopped at Khan's last night on my way home. Ordered the butter chicken and lamb kabobs. Owner/Manager was very sweet. Food just as fantastic as I left it in early 2019 when I first visited London. Food seems to be high quality even in other locations across London. Absolutely will eat here again, again. The butter chicken curry is out of this world.
P. C.
The food was very delicious and the service was great!
N. L.
Came for the first time tonight with my partner. The food was fantastic and the staff very helpful and friendly.
The restaurant was full and buzzing (they were clearly doing something right!),but everybody was practising social distancing as they should be. Overall a very pleasant experience and will definitely recommend and be coming back. Well done guys!
P. P.
This was the best place I have ever been! It's the first time I have ever eaten Indian food, I would highly go and check it out!!
D. B.
The quality of the food was amazing and the staff was equally great!
Hands down one of the best Indian restaurants in London.
V. A.
Never been here before, but really enjoyed our meal in there.
P. T.
We had ordered tandoori roti, chicken and veg biryani . Biryani was good. According to the price, the food wasn’t that great , also the quantity we felt was less.
L. M.
Nice food but not the best Indian food I have had and at £16.95 for 3 king prawns (bringing 1 starter & 2 mains to £66 - no alcohol) very overpriced for what we had. Wouldn’t be enticed to return. Sorry. 🙁
K. M.
I love the place! The food was so good 🥰 and really fast! The service nice and attentive!
Definitely recommend to try!
My choice: naan and chicken
k. t.
great restaurant! lovely modern decor and extremely clean. I've ate here 4 times and had a diferrent dish each time. no one dish looks or tastes the same, very rare in Indian restaurants these days. beers are cold, chutney tray is fresh each time and food is served hot. Haroon the manager is a very friendly interesting guy. its now a regular stop of for me.
L. C. S.
The biriyani was truly amazing..It was an authentic dum biriyani.
G. M.
Amazing restaurant. We were looked after very well- my partner has nut allergies and they catered to those excellently with some great curry and rice pairing suggestions. The staff are really lovely and it's very reasonably priced, with some of the best Indian food we've eaten! Highly recommend!
R. M.
very good food just a bit tricky when they say they will bring the spice sauce on the side and charge you extra for that.
W. Y. J.
So so amazing.
This picture sadly does not do it justice as we had finished all but a piece of chicken when we thought to take a picture.
W. J.
Lovely restaurant with amazing food. This has become my favourite Indian restaurant simply because both the service and the food are phenomenal. Mr Khan, doesn't forget his customers, and he always has a welcoming smile when greeting you. I 1000000% recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a nice atmosphere and brilliant tasting food.
F. C.
I would like to thank you for the opportunity to visit Khans restaurant afternoon, the custom I received was attentive and the food was excellent! We loved the food and there was more than enough for all of us. The mixed tandoori and especially llamb chops are too die for👌🏽The atmosphere is good and the staff provide you everything you require which alone complements the food. Definitely in my top 10 Indian restaurants to visit all time and will without a doubt be visiting with friends and family in the future!
One of my All time Indian cuisine recommendations for the decade in 2019 London: food, service, travel, customer service, ambience. Simply
Amazing
*****Five Stars*****
I. M.
Wonderful menu, reminded me of India. We ordered Murgh Tikka Masala, Cheese naan and Seekh Kebabs. The murgh tikka masala was absolutely delicious, would definitely order again!! Considerably small portion, so keep that in mind while ordering! Reasonable price.
A. A.
The best Indian restaurant that I have tasted in London.... Very nice, very clean, very tidy and for sure the taste is superb,,,, and this is what left of it.... من أحسن المطاعم الهندية... حلال
C. T. R. K.
I went for Sunday lunch with my wife and the food was amazing. I had the green curry with mushroom rice and it was delicious. The service was very nice and friendly by the member of staff Ahmed. Would definitely recommend.
D. O.
Excellent food. My wife and I enjoyed the "meal for 2" on the menu. It was more than enough. Nothing was all that spicy, which my wife appreciated. I would have loved to kick the spice up several notches, but that wouldn't have been kind as we were sharing.
The space is fairly confined and tables are quite close together. But that didn't stop us from having a great evening.
H. K.
Really special dining experience. The manager spoke with every table and was incredibly kind and caring towards his guests.
The food was excellent. My husband was never a fan of Indian food in the US and is now a convert. Everything was delicious. I had the green curry and it was spiced perfectly
S. H.
Really great Indian food! We’ve been searching for yummy Indian food for the last 6 months! So happy to have our go to place now! Food is delicious and the staff is very kind and attentive
S. S.
Delicious food, very nice shishas and an overall great ambiance
K. M.
Such friendly & helpful staff. We were unsure of what to order and they helped us pick a wonderful dinner. It was definitely delicious from the appetizers, main course (yummy Lamb and cooked mushrooms) & the pudding for the finish. Bring your friends everyone order something different. Get the cheese naan and enjoy! You will be pleased!
W.
Food and service were both OK, not bad but not great. Staff (outside of one young guy) was brusque and somewhat inattentive. The place was not full at the time, but drinks and food took a while, so plan for a slightly longer dining experience. We had similar food in London and this was middle of the road fare. portions are good sized, location is a plus, and the restaurant was nicely decorated.
A. S. H.
We enjoyed our dinner so much ! Service was great , food came so quickly , probably the best Indian we visited in a while .
Staff is super friendly and looked after us .
D. w. D.
What an incredible place!!! We actually bumped into this place by accident and luckily were able to get a table. What amazing food! Best Indian I’ve had. True quality, true flavor and affordable. We shared a starter, had a main each with rice, naan and a bottle of sparkling water (not wine) and the bill came to £41! The service is friendly and it would only be a pleasure to eat there again. Great job team Khan!!
M. M.
Very friendly service. Airy yet cozy space, not big but not cramped. Ample menu but not dizzying, with plenty of choices. Our dishes (two vegetable and paneer plates) were excellent, and the seasoned rice was great. We were made to feel very welcome as tourists and if I'm in the area again I would not hesitate to return. Very handy to the S Kensington tube.
M. L.
Most amazing food ever. I do not like spicy hot food nor do I like a lot of garlic. This food was extremely tasty. Flavors blended into each other none over powering the next. Unfortunately I do not live in the area or this country. I would be a repeat customer. Portions are more than adequate .My husband and I shared a few plates. I give this restaurant a 5 . Or more. The service was outstanding. Go and enjoy.
Mike and Sonia from California.
A. D.
The tastiest Indian curry I’ve ever had. The garlic beans were the star of the meal! But the lamb and chicken and rice dishes were also perfect. We ordered 3 mains, 2 rice, 4 naans, 2 veggies and it fed our family of 5. We were stuffed after but it was all so tasty we didn’t mind!
M. C.
Best curry in South Kensington. Will be back soon!
F. F.
Had a lovely meal here. Food was great, level of spice to your taste. Service was very attentive and personable. The staff was fabulous with our kids too, encouraging them to try some flavors they'd never had before (they were mostly used to korma and naan). If you are asked if you would like to try mangos for dessert, do it!
B. B.
We ordered a meat biryani and kali daal. Both the dishes were great and the service is impeccable. One of the best biryani I've eaten.
T. N.
Amazing food and great service.
K. R.
The host/owner was great and welcoming.
The food is delicious 😋 . I highly recommend 10 out of 10!! My wife and children loved it too. I will go again.
J. R.
Fantastic service and great food - highly recommend !
D. B.
Had the two best veggie meals ever last night, even their rice was super tasty. Then had two traditional deserts and just perfection. What a great little place we will be back for sure...wish we lived local as this would be our go to place. Thank you for the great food and service to all especially the chef
D. P. R.
Visited Khan's today. Nice warm people with good hospitality. The menu items were limited as compared to most other Indian restaurants, but every thing we ordered was tasty and properly cooked. The nan and rice was also good. Will recommend this place.
B. M.
The Bengal Prawns dish is my favourite at this great tasting Indian food restaurant. Friendly staff and great service. Always a stop on my visits to South Kensington.
M. O.
Amazing experience !! Fantastic Food! Best Indian meal we've had During our stay in London. The staff are friendly and the interior has a cosy, but modern, feel to it. Will definitely visit again !!
S. O.
I had the non-vegetarian menu for one and everything was amazing. Just the right amount of flavor!! Top notch choice for Indian cuisine..Great food and service.
R. B.
Highly recommend. This was a great find. Their saag aloo was simple and delicious. And we tried a lamb curry called Achari Gosht, cooked in a tangy yoghurt sauce with pickled spices. It was amazing! Really, really impressed and we will be ordering from these guys again 😃
E. F.
We had a very enjoyable meal for 7 until the bill came. Then we discovered how these folks take advantage of their customers. When we first arrived, we were asked if we want chapati and we said "yes," who wouldn't. They brought us a plate stacked high with the light, flat bread, and a small sample of condiments. It was delicious and we ate maybe 4 or 5 of them, leaving more than half on the plate. When we ordered dinner, mostly curries, we were asked if we wanted rice. Of course we did, we were eating curry with wonderful sauces we wanted to enjoy. How much they asked. I said enough for everyone to have some. When it arrived, we received six separate, elegant bowls of rice. On the bill, we were charged 16 pounds for the chapati and 24 pounds for the rice. Over 25% of our bill was for bread we barely ate and rice (which we did eat). No mention of this in advance. They then added the 10% service charge to the bill, but when they ran my card, they handed the machine back to me to confirm with the question of adding a tip to the bill on the screen - clearly hoping I hadn't noticed or perhaps hoping I would up the service from the 10% that was included. I walked out feeling it was a money grab and our dining experience was less important than how much they could charge us on the sly as we were a bigger group and clearly involved in our conversations.
D. S.
We had a great dinner. The manager treated us to some cut up mangos that were delicious. The food had just the right spice with interesting spices. We don’t eat Indian food very often so we were very happy. Also good prompt service😀😀
G. B.
Reasonable prices and great food! There are a good selection of dishes. The waitress was very nice and super helpful. The place isn’t huge but it’s neat and tidy. The restrooms were fine as well. Would go there again in the future.
S. A.
Loving all the amazing Indian food in London!
F. L.
I had such a good experience the starter was amazing and the chicken Korma was supreme.
I really recommend to come here , the staff is nice nice , the food it’s wonderful as well. Such a good vibe .
B.
Absolutely amazing curries here. Brilliant service. Everyone so polite and friendly. I highly recommend visiting here for a meal. Can't wait to come back again soon.
M. S.
Delicious food!!
The staff were all lovely, and very helpful in navigating the menu. Will definitely be coming again!
C. H.
Amazing food and better service. Definitely recommend. Track and trace in place, masks and social distancing in place. Will be back very soon
N. M.
Quality vegitarian curry, I will be returning to try out more food. Great warm and welcoming humble customer service. Highly recommended
P. S.
Excellent food and service.
S.
Came across this lovely restaurant at the end of the evening just as they were ready to close. They couldn’t do enough for us, the food was delicious and the service was second to none.
Safe distancing measures in place it was perfect thank you for a lovely evening.
A.
Yum yum in my tum tum
c. h.
I have been here so so many times and always come back! Weekly actually! Best curry and friendly service. I highly recommend to come here for all your Indian desires.
T. C.
This was my 14yo Daughter’s first trip to Europe. We landed in London this afternoon and headed into the city. After a few hours of exploring we wanted to try some Indian food. Walking the streets of South Kensington we, by luck, happened to come in to Kahn’s. We saw good stickers in the window and decided to try it. So glad we did. Great service, and even better food. Give it a try.
M. G.
The menu selections are fairly limited, and it took a long time to get our food (45 minutes before our food came out — a group the same as ours that came in behind us an were seated later somehow got their food 15 minutes before we did...), and the mango lassi is one of the worst I have had: very little mango flavor, apparently no other ingredients (like cardamom), tasted basically just like store-bought vanilla yogurt. Not acceptable for 4 pounds pricetag.
On the plus side, the main dishes were pretty tasty and the meat in them was fresh and tender.
H. M.
Great service and a family-run atmosphere.
D. C.
Wonderful Staff, wonderful restaurant!
Three italians today had a wonderful experience in this restaurant 🙏
K. G.
Some of the best Indian food I’ve ever had. They made it super spicy, per our request (which is how my fiancée and I love our Indian food). We literally left our plates nearly sparkling clean!
D. W.
Hands down the best poppadom dips I've ever tasted. Despite the location this place is not too expensive, especially with their set menu. I paid £25 for a very generous amount of food including a meat curry, vegetable curry, naan, rice, and chicken starter dish. Would definitely order again, delish.
T. T.
Brilliant for a dinner after museums with kids. Made non-spicy curry and kebabs for the kids. Loved it! Service is fast and friendly.
N. P.
Very nice staff. They were very patient even though 3 people in our group joined late. Food is traditional and presented in a modern style. All the dishes were amazing!!
G. K.
Good position to the Millennium Gloucester- within easy walking distance. Very good meal in a cosy setting. Service was efficient and food arrived quickly. A trendy mixed crowd created a easy relaxed atmosphere. All food halal. Dinner was excellent. Flavourful and spicy, just as we ordered it. An expensive resturant.
M. G.
I visited Khan's with my family and had a fabulous meal. Each dish was presented beautifully and the flavour was amazing. We received prompt and friendly service (particularly from the owner), and we all can't wait to visit again!

Food was really good & well presented. Service was quick & friendly. Would definitely return. So happy they were able to squeeze us in without a reservation
K. P.
I've visited the restaurant today. They definitely need more waiters. Tables are dirty and you have to wait too long for any order, bill etc. We've ordered meal and drinks. Food was nice but drinks never came. After all I was waiting ages for a bill and was charged for drinks i didn’t get. With an amazing competition at the city will not recommend that place.
T. C.
Great Butter Chicken, great service, standard London price. Highly recommended
E. m.
We had the Tandoori chicken starter,
It came out sizzling and delicious. The service was amazing, so friendly and helpful, they even gave us a hot towel like on a classy flight! & id just been to the cinema and they said I looked like the movie star, that's customer service. Love it & foods great.
K. S.
Amazing service and very good quality of food :)
R. N.
We just walked by and walked in. The friendly staff found us a table and made us feel very welcome indeed. We ordered our food and the lemon rice was absolutely beautiful coupled with and lovely curry it made for a memorable evening. When I'm in the area again I'll deformed be popping in for an awesome curry! Brilliant evening, thank you guys!
S. M.
Amazing food served by lovely staff in a very familiar environment. Definitely a must for Indian food. Best butter chicken I have ever tasted.
B. K. A.
Wonderful Indian food restaurant. The service was excellent as was the food, everything we tried was delicious and flavorful. Recommend the mushroom massala, lemon rice, and the tandoori sampler. Would go back in a heartbeat!
C. W.
Really good food and lovely friendly service.
S. C.
We’re really served well. Food was so nice. The boss and staff very kind and considerate. If I travel to London, will definitely visit the restaurant again.
N. F.
We been there 3 times, they have redecorated the places, looks clean and tidy, is missing some images on its walls. The menu has the typical curry and some original recipies. We like all we have tried so far.
B.
Absolutely amazing curries here. Brilliant service. Everyone so polite and friendly. I highly recommend visiting here for a meal. Can't wait to come back again soon.

This is a great Indian restaurant in South Kensington and has very nice food. I would strongly recommend it as the place was immaculately clean and had very nice service.

Fantastic food and amazing service!!! The food was incredible and the staff and owner were so welcoming and friendly. We love this place!!!
A. W. E.
It was a very pleasant dining experience at this restaurant. The staff was nice, and the food was great!
Portions were a bit small, but that was made up for by their great quality.
Overall a nice experience complete with hot towels to wash your hands at the end :)
F. L.
I had such a good experience the starter was amazing and the chicken Korma was supreme.
I really recommend to come here , the staff is nice nice , the food it’s wonderful as well. Such a good vibe .
A. S.
Great experience. The staff are very kind and provide excellent service. I had left some of my important things in the restaurant , and the staff were very helpful in finding it and returning it to me. Mr. Abdul and Mr. Mokid were very welcoming and definitely made my evening with great food and hospitality! Would definitely recommend.
A. L.
Definitely a great place to share some indian delights
S. B.
We had a lovely dinner at Khan’s - the food was delicious and the team at the restaurant were friendly and helpful. We had young children with us, and the restaurant was very accommodating of our needs. Highly recommended.
S. R.
Food and service were excellent! I had a chicken jalfrazi which was perfectly spiced and not too hot. We also has a lamb Rogan Josh. The lamb was nice and tender rather tough which you can often find in Indian restaurants. Nans and rice also beautifully cooked. Prices reasonable for area, would definitely return.
C. 7.
The place is very nicely decorated and the service is excellent with the people being very nice. The food is delicious and does not take long to arrive. Extremely good experience and definitely recommend.
J. R.
This is a MUST for Indian food... when you've got Indian people eating in there you know it's good.... it's absolutely the freshest food I've eaten. I've had many Indians too. I'd give this 10/10 fairly priced great service exceptional quality. Thank you
P. H.
My favourite restaurant in London! We have to come back twice. The chicken and lamb are absolutely amazing! The Indian pale Cobra are great too!
A. A.
Excellent spot service n staff
Food was very very tasty... Goat curry was great... Lamp chops were amazing... Lemon rice was excellent... Highly recommended... They make it spicy to your likes
5 stars and will def come back
A. A.
The staff are very respectful with smiley face. The food was very tasty not very spicy though. The place is very calm, which I personally prefer as most Arabic restaurants in London are crowded. Try it and you won’t neglect it.
H. W. (.
Decent food and excellent service.
Waiter was really helpful in choosing a dish, ordering me a paneer dish milder than standard to suit my tastes, and helping my friend choose a mild tandoori dish. Maybe not cutting edge cuisine but for a central touristy location it's not a bad Indian restaurant at all.
E. V.
Weird service - slightly rude, but weird most of all. As more Indian restaurants do, they don't like it when they miss the few pounds if I order a side dish (which is my favorite) and rice. When I add naan and poppadoms for starters, it's usually fine - here, they insisted I would take the side dish as a main, besides my other dishes and my partner ordering a regular main dish with rice. This was communicated unclearly and rather rudely - to be fair, it was barked at me rather than explained. I agreed to have my side dish as a main and pay three pounds extra. However, when - predictably - I did not finish my main dish and asked to take the leftovers away, I was denied this service with the explanation it was against regulations and the restaurant could be fined for hygienic reasons. I've never experienced this in any other restaurant in my life! In the end, I felt treated unfairly, however decent the food was (the food being the only reason I'm giving the restaurant these three stars).
m. s.
Our family has been coming here for 20 years and it simply gets better and better. The food is a significant step up from the usual curry - with fresh ingredients and genuine curry dishes that are delicious. The staff are fantastic - incredibly helpful and the atmosphere is bright, clean and welcoming. I'd recommend khans in Kensington to anyone.
P. M.
Had a lovely meal here on Tuesday night with the girlfriend, Paneer Wala Murg, one of our dishes was presented so well, classic designed dished with a selection of 4 different foods on the large plate, our waiter Tom, top guy, made our visit worthwhile, value for money as well.
Most defiantly recommend this restaurant.
Most dishes are mild and less spicy, so always good to let your waiter know the spice level when taking your order.
b. t.
We were here for breakfast and we had a butter chicken and two chicken curry. Both was good!
L. M.
Very nice food and great service
m. c.
Chanced upon this and did not disappoint. Our group tried their lamb curry, chicken korma, butter chicken, murg balti, bhindi bhaji. All very good! And their garlic naan bread was perfectly done. Service was excellent. Recommend to try it.
N. M.
Quality vegitarian curry, I will be returning to try out more food. Great warm and welcoming humble customer service. Highly recommended
a. G.
Been here few times with large crowd for family day treat and normal dinner. Fish vegetables ..meat ..also biryani are excellent.
Mango lassie. .
Lamb grill are nice too. The vegetables selections are great and nicely cook..tasty..
Only no beef..would be great if the serve beef..
Would go again.
P. F.
Superb food and great service and an extensive menu with the proprietor personally greeting the guests. I live in South Kensington and this is my favourite little restaurant. Better food and better service than the swanky over priced ones up the road in Knightsbridge or Mayfair.
P.
Lovely food and very kind, well mannered staff. They also made a reserved table available to us as we were starving but in a rush for the Albert Hall. Great service all round. 😊
C. N.
On our last night of London we made it a point to eat Indian food because well, we’re in London! The restaurant was quiet on a Monday night (which is unusual) but my girlfriend and I strolled in with hungry bellies. My girlfriend got the lamb josh (honestly forgot the name but it’s basically tomato lamb) and I got the butter chicken with basmati and garlic Naan on the side. We’ve had great Indian food in the states and this was no different. Yes, you have to pay for the rice but if you’re going to complain about paying £2 then maybe you should eat at the Five Guys across the street. Will definitely be coming back the next time we’re in London!
H. C.
Clean, fresh, inviting decor. Location was perfectly close to the station. Didn’t wait long on a Thursday evening to be seated. The staff need a little more training on attentiveness; it took a while to grab their attention to order our food; we were left without drinks until mid-meal, despite a waiter promising to come back and take our drinks order! Food was lovely. Garlic naan was really tasty. Despite initially being taken aback by the small portion of pulao rice that reached the table, it was in fact perfectly sized for two ppl to share (with naan and a butter chicken). Alone, this wouldn’t have been a very filling meal, but when it followed our wonderful starters (chilli paneer and king prawn puri) it all came together to make a wonderfully filling dinner.
M. S.
Good Indian food with great service
X. 5.
A beautiful meal and great service. Especially grateful for their understanding of my dietary requirements. And they have great football knowledge if you're up for a bit of banter:)
J. P.
We had a delicious dinner! The calamari appetizer was tender and peppery, and tikki masala was tasty. Tandoori lamb chops we're the best. Very nice service, the staff and owner were very welcoming.
S. R. (.
The food is so yummy the taste is the original taste of india. I loved all the food the kebabs and barbecue dishes were very tasty. I’ve eaten in many indian restaurant but you should try this restaurant and you will crave for more and come
Back for me.
T. M.
Had excellent curry & mixed tandoori platter. Warm friendly service, lovely atmosphere. One of the best curry I’ve had in London - reasonable price for South Ken, too. Definitely going back!!
B. N.
Authentic Indian food with plenty of flavor and the staff is so sweet. We had the lovely classic chicken tiki masala and it was cooked to perfection.
c. h.
I have been here so so many times and always come back! Weekly actually! Best curry and friendly service. I highly recommend to come here for all your Indian desires.
R. C.
I had lunch here with my husband and our 4 year old son that was starved and obliged us to stop somewhere. We were skeptical because it is rare finding a good restaurant in a turistic area.
Then we entered and they welcomed us like vip. The place is classy and confy.
Finally, one of the best and cheap Indian we had in London.
If not sure what ordering, please try achari ghost, simply amazing.
G. G.
Very friendly “family- like” atmosphere. Despite having little experience around Indian food there was nothing intimidating about the courses. The staff were also very helpful and explanatory.
R. P.
Absolutely delicious. Best Indian food I’ve ever had and service was excellent also. Would recommend any time.
i. h.
What an amazing food. We were recommended to this place by the locals and it has lived up to its rep. Ordered amazing grill platter (my fav by far) also ordered chicken jalfraze which was very good. Paired all with garlic naan and also keema naan (this is good by different taste). Thank you for making our visit extra special (heru jaman - manager is great and very friendly)
Best wishes and good luck
C. H.
Amazing food and better service. Definitely recommend. Track and trace in place, masks and social distancing in place. Will be back very soon
S. E.
Absolutely amazing experience ! Massive compliments to the chef! Great service and lovely food. Couldn't be more happy with this. Also a great location! Definitely recommending :)
T. D.
Another excellent meal at Khans tonight. Try the spinach, different to anywhere else I have been, also the lamb chops as a starter or main course (with spinach).
Also, friendly and efficient service is guaranteed based on my years of dining here.
G. N.
Great butter chicken - I’d come bank
d. g. a.
Impeccable service. Great tandorri prawns with savoury onions and soft and tender prawns. Cheese nans are delicious and when the bifold doors are opened in summer it is a true delight to have a relaxed dining location. Excellent value for money.
P. R. O.
Best Indian food in London
We tasted the typical Tikka and other recipes not so well known and everything was perfect.
We asked for recommendations and we enjoyed everything that we discovered
H. B.
Not sure the reasons for bad reviews, I was very pleased. The service was excellent, the food was excellent, not heavy or greasy. The atmosphere was busy and vibrant. The decor wasn't too bad for an indian either. Certainly we will go back.
G. P.
This was one of the best restaurants we found in London, specialy Indian.
The service was great. Very good food, fast and a great spot to come with families, like us, my wife + 4 kids!

Where do I Begin? My wife and I popped in to grab a bite and were immediately seated by friendly staff. Kahn's had a great casual vibe which was perfect for us and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We ordered one app and two curry dishes with garlic naan and basmati sauce. The lamb appitizer was such a wonderful blend of flavors and the perfect portion. The curry was phenomenal and we scrapped every bit we could out of the dishes, even though we were completely full. We took a peak at the dessert menu but decided against it, ordering our check; however the manager asked if we had ever had fresh mangoes from India (I'm not sure what region) and talked us into trying it since it was in perfect season. He was absolutely right, the mangos was sweet and succulent and had a great presentation. My wife excitedly exclaimed she couldn't wait to get some at the market the next day, and to our pleasant surprise, the manager brought her her own mangoe to take home. This dinner was fantastic and the experience superb. Will definantly come back again!
m. m.
Great little spot just across the street from South Kensington station. We had the chicken tikka masala and the lamb chile stir fry and they were both very good. The staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome! The white table cloth service was on point. We also got a mango kulfi for dessert, which was very refreshing. Would recommend spending some time here and filling your bellies.
C. D.
After 16 days of traveling through Holland, France, and ending up in London, we decided to end our trip with a last dinner at Khan's of Kensington. What a wonderful chance encounter with their exquisite and savory cuisine. With the kind assistance of Haroon, the manager, we had three dishes based on our likes. A soothing yogurt sauce with Pepper Prawns, Murg Jafrezi (chicken with fresh ginger, chile's and onion), and Achari Gosht, mutton with a yogurt sauce. All spiced to perfection . Our only regret is that we didn't discover Khan's earlier in our stay.
S. B.
I highly recommend the pepper prawns! Also the Chicken Tikka Masala can be made any level of spicy you like. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great for a quick taste of India.
A.
Really good food and service!
J. G.
Great Indian restaurant with great hospitality and absolutely fantastically spiced foods that hit the spot. Very cozy and you feel at home with the presence of the owner always making sure you are sufficient.
r. m.
If you come to London, you should go to the Khan's of Kensington. They have the top best selection of Indian food. My family and I loved it and so will you! We got chicken Tandoori, bengan (eggplant), and for the appetizer we got papari chat. Absolutely delicious!!!!! If they had six stars I would give them six!
M. K.
Ordered several dishes and it was phenomenal. The channa masala was the best around. Lovely staff and customer service.
B. C.
Brilliant food, Brilliant customer service and great atmosphere. Would definitely recommend

A. S. d. G.
We come to London very often, it’s one of our favorite cities in the world!
We are Indian cousins lovers and
Khan’s of Kensington is an Indian restaurant you should not miss! The Murg Tikka is tender and cooked to perfection. The Achari Gosht is tastefully done in spices to bring out the flavors.
Beautiful new decor and great atmosphere to enjoy lunch or dinner.
We always return and have never been disappointed!
E. k.
We had a great service and food experience. Servers, Manager and food was Great! See you next time I'm in London. Chicken marsala , garlic naan and saffron rice delicious.
A. D.
Good food. It looked like a Mughlai menu. I generally dont try the meat dishes in the first instance so dont have much to say about that. The vegetarian dishes I tasted were fantastic. My next visit would be to try the mughlai starters.
N. M.
This is one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve had the pleasure of eating. Wonderful staff and authentic food. Manager was very accommodating
N. Y.
Wow. That was some of the best Indian food I've ever had. Some reviewers mustve ordered the wrong stuff!
Here's a PERFECT meal for two that should put you at around 26 pounds:
Lemon rice
Garlic naan
Tandoori chicken
Chicken tikki masala
So perfect. Sizzling chicken, INCREDIBLE tikki Masala. Complements each other perfectly. Mix all the flavors together and welcome the tears of joy :')
J. T.
Good food, well presented (ask if you want something "off menu' and they will try to acomodate), and very professional and friendly service - highly recommended
X. T.
Very good vibe from the staff.
C. M.
Excellent food, great service, authentic environment, all reasonably priced. Will definitely come again.
J. H.
The food was delicious, service and personnell was really good (fast, attentive and helpful) and considering the Area (South Kensington) the pricing was okay. Don't know what happend to those, who had a different experience, but of the 3 (I know, it's not much) Indian Restaurants I know, this one is top with another in Southampton...
M. D.
We were so looked after they could not have more hospitable and the food was divine! It was my birthday and they brought me a lovely pudding with a candle! Highly recommend
S. v. d. B.
The Food was really good and the speed of service was excellent. We only ordered a bit too much but it was perfect! The sweet mango at the end was a great finisher! Keep up the good work
D. R.
Had the classic curry, which was delicious. Did not get the drinks or naan bread we ordered & had to chase staff down to get the bill. Will return however as the food is worth it.
B. F. O.
Really nice service and curry. Staff were polite and good, the only issue is that they forgot to bring one of the starters and it was brought when the main dishes were finished.
L. A.
This place has been a wonderful discovery. The restaurant is calm and the crew gives very good advice. The food is very good and tasty. Thanks a lot for this moment
L. C.

Familiar but the waiter did an excellent job making us feel comfortable
G. V.
The food was excellent and came very quickly. The staff was very kind and they steered us away from dishes with nuts due to allergies. Our server Abdul was very nice!
J. E.
The food was great, and the service simply sublime. Our curries were milder than expected, but luckily that's how my friend likes them!
J. I.
Excellent service, very good food and nice atmosphere. You have to try the green curry, if you really like spicy of course!
T. S.
Not a bad restaurant. Decent food, helpful waiters, Reasonably price for the area. I think our bill came to just under £45 for 3 of us. The decore could have been better food.
J. R.
We loved the food and the service. It went beyond the standard Indian fare. It is a wonderful choice, and very easy to get to from the South Kensington tube station.
D. P.

Nice food for indian/Pakistani food lovers. it gets really busy tho. It's a tiny space. People mostly get reservations beforehand. Was lucky to get it.

M. H.
Came here for my anniversary. Fantastic staff, fantastic indian food, fantastic atmosphere. Very reasonably priced too. Would definitely go again.
P. R.
Not the best I have had, cost is also more than an average indian restaurant. Remember if you order papad u would end up paying both for papad and chutneys served with it.
Z. M.
This was the first place to show up when we looked, it had great reviews which makes sense. The food was great, service was quick and the staff was wonderful!
D. P.
I had a simple chicken jalfrezi with rice and nan. Nice staff. Rice and sauce good but chicken overcooked. Very overpriced for what I had.

Really good food. Some waiters looked dead on the inside but the manager was chirpy and friendly. Its worth going here.

Nice place, close to crowded natural history museum. We enjoy the meals, but I think they could give something for free apetizers, like lots of restaurants around.
K. K.
Great food for a good price.
Owner was very accommodating for a Friday night with no reservation.
Would definitely recommend.
V. K.
the only thing that was better than the service was the food itself. absolutely faultless from start to finish and looking forward to our next visit.

Tasty food but the staff could not cope with the number of customers. 15 minutes wait for the bill made me leave a bit angry.

Flavorful food at reasonable prices. A variety of curries from around India. This is our favorite Indian restaurant in London.

Delicious food. We loved it. They should use tables covers. In oder to be more hygienic.

Located in the old Trafford shopping mall ground floor. Able to get Asian food like Briyani and Kebabs. OK quality and taste..

Good food, service could be improved. Long waiting time for food and had to wait a while for plates to be removed from table

Very good Indian in the heart of South Ken. It's a bit pricey but that's not surprising here. Nice atmosphere, food and friendly service.

Been here several times over the years and it’s a dependable curry in the heart of Kensington that doesn’t break the bank.

Not spicy enough. Nice. But not fabulous. Don't confuse it with Khan's in Bayswater which is always great.

A great curry restaurant in Kensington. Reasonable prices and great service. Wait times also quite short.

Really good food, thoroughly enjoyed and prices not as high as you may think they would be.

Average at best.. the funny thing is the waiter asking before letting us in if we had reservation, then going to check for about 5 minutes even though the place was mostly empty

Excellently spiced butter chicken (chicken tikka masala), black pepper prawn and garlic naan. Wash it down with peppermint tea during winter.
