Reviews of Le Boudin Blanc
Friendly and attentive staff make this bustling restaurant perfect for a cozy meal for two. However, the table were so close in this covid time. The food was well prepared in the classical French style and the wine list is comprehensive. The wine waiter was most helpful. We will definitely be returning when the forth wave is over.
Great armosphere, wonderful food and service, plus an incredible selection of wines
love it .perfectly cooked dover sole at a lower price than some bigger names! great bistro!
The perfect restaurant for that perfect meal. Nothing more to say.
Solid bistro. Good menu with not too much flair. Great service and very good, reasonably priced wine list.
It is simply tres bon....
The food and service are really, really good. The downfall for me is that this place is very cramped and it can get extremely stuffy in the dining rooms.
Best duck confit I've ever tasted
Beautiful service, cosy atmosphere and great food. Ticks the boxes
I've always enjoyed eating at Le Boudin Blanc. Pleasant atmosphere - bright and friendly, faboulously French! Traditional menu, moules and steak tartare are tremendous, service A1. Lots of choice on the wine menu too. Well placed in the middle of town. Not pretentious but very good.
Consistently excellent over the last ten years. Food, wine, ambience. It's all here.
Duck and Beef are nice. Snails are not tasty.
Good food with French twist, smiley service. A bit crowded but nice
Took my wife for the wedding anniversary. The food was lovely and the service was excellent.
The food and service were phenomenal
French onion soup and steak tartar ever time. Friggin love this place.
Nice French food, excellent selection of wines, excellent service.
Great steak and foie gras!!!!
Beautiful food with attentive service. The French onion soup is a must.
Full of people and atmosphere, served with a wonderful meal.
Everyone like it. I had grilled steak...not much to go wrong.
Very good quality food, clean, nice looking.
Delicious food, great service! Highly recommend for large groups but also looks like a perfect date spot 👌
Consistently excellent over the last ten years. Food, wine, ambience. It's all here.
completely adequate spot to eat. i would not return. adequat ambiance, service and decent food is not enough.
Amazing food and not as pricey as one would assume.
Probably one of the best place for proper French food.
very delicious food! a little bit noise and the space is a little bit narrow.
Good authentic French restaurant with an oldie worldie feel inside
My wife and I had a wonderful time. Food was excellent
Great food but a bit pricey for what it is
This place is great, amazing cousine, romantic mood, excelent service
Perfectly wonderful lunch after walking around Mayfair shops for hours.
We dined at Le Boudin Blanc on a weeknight, and it's clearly a popular choice as the dining room was very busy. The waitstaff handled the diner's needs efficiently and with unobtrusive style. Our meal, chosen from the chalkboard listing specials for the evening, was perfectly cooked and delicious, and complemented well by the wine we chose with help from the sommelier. The one drawback was the noise level in the dining room; while not objectionable in itself, it wasn't what we would have desired that night. Overall, though, you will not be disappointed in the atmosphere, the service, or the food, all of which were warm and excellent.
Best in the neighbourhood. Good but expensive wine list.
big disappointment on the food. decor bland. service could use some help.
Excellent food even if they charge for bread.
Great food and such a nice atmosphere
Cosy restaurant with good food and a rather good wine list.
Great French meal....👍👍
This is a decent french brasserie with a nice menu.
Top! Reasonable price and great food
decent french food. a good place to bring a date.
Bit old fashioned, but the food is really good
Great French cuisine and I am French and picky! Went for the boudin blanc and was not disappointed. Asparagus starter greatly recommended. Very good wine although can be very expensive too.
The food and service were phenomenal
Authentic French food! Loved it.
Best duck confit I've ever tasted
Excellent food, classic French bistro style
Loved it.. visit a must...don't walk pass
Like being transported to Paris. Always find my way there while in London.
Excellent food and service at a value.
Good food experience...wine list a bit exclusive.
Superb French food served with a smile.
Rustic atmosphere and good traditional food
We ate here tonight.
Service is excellent and Fernando was top notch. The menu is typical French with a good wine list.
We both had the lamb with frites, and it was delicious.
We will go again when we are hungrier and can do justice to some of the other attractive menu options.
Amazing food and exceptional service.
Best French food 🍲 in the UK
Best onion soup in central London :)
Everything was perfect - great French in London
Best onion soup ever
Good quality food in a relaxed setting
Very nice hearty live place
Classic French. Do the basics beautifully.
Small insight, but very tasty
Too fancy
A homely French restaurant in the middle of Mayfair... been coming for years and never been disappointed. Rustic atmosphere and friendly service. Highly recommendable.

Loved.

Ballast dumped, off we go
Delicious French food
Fabulous french restaurant. Brilliant staff. Great for dining in numbers, or a romantic meal for two. Scallops are beautifully cooked as is the Beef Rossini.

Little French gem
Le Boudin Blanc
📍5 Trebeck St, Mayfair, London W1J 7LT
This is a French restaurant that I want to hide away.
This store is located in Mayfair and is a very bourgeois and very local store. The overall pleasant country style and elegant bistro has the feel of a Parisian bistro, and is very suitable for business or friends.
There are many French people in the restaurant, and the clerk can communicate in French, which makes it feel very friendly. And maybe it’s because the French in the service industry are less arrogant and more polite (I don’t mean to diss, but the French are really arrogant haha), and I was quite happy eating.
Bread&butter
It should be their own bread, and there is a piece of paper with the restaurant's logo attached to the butter. The butter is of good quality, and the bread is a little hard and crispy, and it feels like the essence of a baguette.
Duck Foie Gras
The opening is pretty good, very standard. The bread is cut into small slices and paired with duck liver and red onions. It is full of heat and happiness in the mouth!
Onion Soup
This is a must-try, the very famous and popular onion soup, the attendance rate is very high, and the big bowl is very hot. The bread, cheese and onions are soaked in the soup, and the whole body is warm when you drink it!
Escargot
This snail is also amazing. I don’t know what kind of sauce is added to it. It looks very grassy, but in fact it tastes salty and has a garlic taste. It’s perfectly OK for three people to share one portion.
Meat Special
My friend ate a special kind of meat, and because it wasn't cooked over a very high temperature, it felt very similar to the kind of meat I had eaten at Le Cinq in Paris. It had a soft texture that was a bit like offal, not old and very fragrant!
Ribeye
Ribeye is a huge piece. Girls should not try it easily. I relied on the two boys opposite to help me solve it. The fat and thin portions are paired with steak sauce and tasted with our wine. It has many levels in the mouth, which is great!
Beef Fillet
The 8 ounces of Scottish fillet looks pretty dry and has a hard texture on the outside. The inside is cooked just right. The quality of the beef itself is great. Plus the special sauce, it’s perfect!
Green Beans
My friend wanted some vegetables and ordered this to go with the steak!
Fries
The fries I ordered were too big, so I ended up not finishing them. I was a little embarrassed [knelt down]
Creme Brulee
This dessert is highly recommended. It has caramel on the surface, cream on the bottom, and a small strip of biscuit. Eat the three together and your taste buds will scream!
Lemon Tart
Although it looks harmless to humans and animals, it tastes really full of citric acid, because it is really made with a lot of lemon ingredients, and the bottom layer is slightly crispy, which is very special!
Obra Prima
This Argentinian bottle of wine is really not a surprise at all. It perfectly presents the complexity and structure of modern fresh fruits. They are usually hand-picked at the end of March, soaked for a long time before fermentation, and then placed in French oak barrels. Aged for 6 months, overall it is a perfect bottle of wine!
French restaurant in London.. Nice place, soft lights, good dishes (when available..) efficient service, I discreetly take care of the customer. Good wine list. Medium-high prices, perhaps a little too much for what they offer. To underline the fish "soup"!!
We had reservations for 10 people at Boudin Blanc and it was a memorable evening. First of all, the welcome was friendly and warm, the dishes delicious (my Dover Sole was just perfect) and to top it all off, a beautiful selection of wine.
A lovely French culinary discovery in London.
Everything we tasted was excellent.
The staff takes great care and gives very good advice.
A real treat.
THANKS
Le Boudin Blanc is an authentic French restaurant in Mayfair (well, they charge for bread and butter, so not that authentic !!). Nicely atmospheric with good efficient staff it is a local hangout for the Mayfair crowd and those staying at the Park Lane hotels.
A word of warning-it is a small densely packed room with no discernible ventilation…no windows were open and it is low ceilinged. Those with fears over Covid should avoid.
On the whole the food was pretty good. Excellent Jersey Oysters and an okay Duck Foie Gras Terrine followed by a very good Entrecôte de Boeuf, a Welsh Lamb Rump that tasted fine but was very small, and Duck Leg Confit that was deemed “too dry” by both people that had it.
Desserts were excellent. The Crème Brûlée, assorted Ice Cream and Tarte Tatin à L'ancienne, Crème Glacée à la Cannelle all passed muster.
With a bottle of Ventoux (£48) from the lower priced wines the bill came to a pretty eye watering £80 per head.
Okay, this is Mayfair, so in essence you are paying for the landlords high rent but it you would get better value and probably more consistent cookery elsewhere in the West End.
Amazing, excellent food
Thank you for this wonderful time spent in your establishment
(Translated) For my part I can indicate that this restaurant I have already visited several times and it has always been at dinner time.
Above all, I recommend that you reserve a table, which can be done comfortably online since, being a small and busy restaurant, you run out of space.
I highlight of this place, the friendliness and treatment of the staff, as well as its food that is very close to its price, at least from my point of view they have one of the best quality / price ratios of everything I have visited.
I have never come out here desiccating and to keep in mind that it is a French restaurant.
(Original)
We celebrated my uncle's birthday and all the waitresses were very kind to sing his birthday in French! Thank you so much. We ate a delicious onion soup like I have eaten all my life, a spectacular Saint Jaques coquille with coral sauce... I had never eaten coral. The dessert was a delicious tarte Tatin.
A classic. Good welcome. Good wine list
Le boudin blanc is an excellent restaurant, warm welcome, attentive team and high quality cuisine, I highly recommend
I hope to come see Nicolas again very soon....if you see this comment Nicolas know that I am coming
Delicious! Excellent and friendly service! British touch!
Excellent menu, service in a pleasant atmosphere
Cozy French restaurant with quality food.
Perfect oysters! Amazing food (the boudin blanc itself is exceptional) and friendly, attentive service. Highly recommended!
Decent French food! I guess not many restaurants in London have Escargot, but this place does, with a reasonable price and quality.
It was my first try, but I loved it!!
That was the main reason why I visited here, but other foods were also tasty, we ordered scallops, duck and beef tartare, everything was absolutely fav❤️
Not bad

Good kitchen
Food good but disappointing experience
Just a litany of service errors:
*After being seated for about ten minutes with no contact from any service staff we noticed someone who came in after us had already received a bottle of wine before we even been acknowledged.
*asked for water with my wine twice. It arrived on the 3rd time of asking
*£4.50 for bread. Asked twice for a second side plate and knife. It never arrived. We ended up sharing.
* ordered 2 steaks, one medium rare, one medium came the wrong way around
*took away food and returned it with only one of 2 side dishes and the half peppercorn sauce returned as I'd already poured half on my steak which had been returned
*Had to eat without a drink, impossible to catch anyone's attention. Hubby had to stand and wave over maitre de to return the steaks earlier as we were being ignored
* ordered coke got diet
*asked for the bill and she returned 5 mins later with dessert menus
Had to go into the cloakroom and select my own jacket even though they had my ticket, they weren't sure which was mine
*the bill was right. Charged for EVERYTHING despite the service errors
Lovely food, location and atmosphere. Very reasonably priced and you'll leave stuffed to the gills. Make sure you save space for dessert!
Went for my anniversary just over a year ago. It was lovely! Helpful and friendly staff, very romantic and cozy atmosphere. The food was outstanding and they offer great wines too. A brilliant experience, looking forward to returning with my partner when possible! Only downside was being seated rather close to another couple so bumping elbows a little but I was so focused on my partner that it didn't matter :)
The food the food and the food annnnnddd...the service the service the service. A little bit of France in London. I will be back and back and back again.
Incredible place in one of the most unique neighborhoods in London. The food was spectacular, the staff was exceptional (Kati te queremos) and you won't see the end of the wine selection.
It would be a shame to miss on it.
First visit to this restaurant, and I loved it. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food delicious. We also enjoyed the wine recommendation! Lovely ambience too - cosy surroundings and I loved the music! Thank you Marine, for letting me know about your playlist. I've been enjoying listening to it in my own time as well :)
Great menu with food you couldn’t easily do at home, which is what I want from a restaurant for a special occasion. Wine is very pricey, but about par for Mayfair. Fantastic staff - warm and professional.
Very rustic looking French restaurant. Food was decent, lamb was quite nicely done. Nothing very fancy and very reasonably priced. Overall an amazing atmosphere and great food. Definitely worth coming if you're in Mayfair.
Nice restaurant but not as good as it was years ago. Very few french staff and menu not so french anymore. Nice food but to pricey for what you get. Sorry, did not like to leave this review as I had fond memories of this place. Time goes on.
Lovely atmosphere. Lovely food. Lovely wine. Great staff.
Very good. Safe to eat with allergies - staff is very careful and ready to go an extra mile to ensure a tasty dish is served. Thank you
Size of dish was enough :) french onion soup was excellent! Mussels, french onion soup, salmon
Really nice food. Welsh lamb and onion soup was fantastic
Good service and good food. Strongly recommend for the foolproof dinner!
Food is so good and prices are so reasonable
My favourite place to eat French food
Lovely restaurant. Staff is friendly and service is great. Specially loved the steak and thanks to Maxime for a exquisite wine recommendation!. so happy to be back !!
Excellent food choices, oysters and steak were tasteful. Service level can improve and this is the reason why not rating 5 stars (overall they were trying but our table waitress was not very professional to say the lease).
Amazing food. Great service, great wine. Was at a party and the room was hired out. The staff ensured there was always someone present to attend to anything. Had the most amazing steak here and the best chips I have ever had in my life.
One word to sum up the entire meal: delightful.
A cozy, romantic restaurant in the heart of Mayfair along a cobblestone path.
While the menus we had were in French, there is an online version that is also in English.
Every bite we had was scrumptious and the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive, but slightly aloof. That didn't bother me at all.
I appreciate the flattering dim lighting and how every seat in the restaurant makes you feel like you're alone with your guests at your table.
I should add that the restaurant wasn't just packed with couples. I saw a table of six friends catching up for drinks and dinner.
The cost for the meal was pretty reasonable in comparison to quality of the food and service.
I definitely recommend a stop at Le Boudin Blanc, if you're in Mayfair one night.
Cosy vibe, beautiful food, immaculate service. All as formal as it was friendly, perfect for an evening business occasion or personal.
My sister and I had dinner at Le Boudin Blan last night and felt like royalty. The service the restaurant provides is outstanding! Everyone is super friendly and attentive and makes you feel very welcome the moment you step in the restaurant. The food is to die for. Everything we chose was of a very high quality and the red wine suggested was amazing too. We will definitely be back :-)
Wonderful authentic French cuisine experience. Delicious food, French onion soup was a dream.
Excellent service!
A very friendly, charming and genuinely French bistro in the centre of London (Shepherd Market in Mayfair). Loads of ambiance; it feels more like dining in Paris than London. Very nice food and a good wine list. Good value for money. Highly recommended.

Perfect for something special.
Wanted to celebrate my daughter's promotion at work. Boudin Blanc was fantastic and near faultless, though not inexpensive as sides and bread were extra. But it was worth it - as they had promised, just like being in Paris. Service outstanding and the food excellent. Not quite haute cuisine just great French classics very, very well done. We would definitely go back, perhaps to try the weekday menu prix fixe.

A long lost friend
In the mid to late nineties, I used to travel from NYC to London on a regular basis and my boss insisted on staying at the Intercontinental at Berkeley (sp?) Square. Well the hotel is now called the Mayfair but LBB remains a short walk to Shepherd's Sq. Took my daughters and my sis-in-law and we had a great time. The food, the wine and the service were all exemplary and I got my favourite - escargot!!

What a nice experience!
We were lucky enough to have an issue with a reservation at a Michelin star restaurant, so we ate at this very nice casual French bistro. What good fortune! The food was excellent- the mussel app was delicious (maybe too big), as was the onion soup (maybe too big)....the veal chop fantastic, the lamb dish excellent...the peas complimenting both dishes, .the au gratin potatoes wonderful. Desserts were excellent. Drinks/wine very good. Ver pleasant bartender prior to seating (we were a bit early). The service- from the greeting+seating through the meal- could not have been better or more pleasant. All in all, what a nice experience!. Definitely will return and recommend.

Great food and absolutely great service. Escargot was the best.
Very cosy French restaurant. We couldn't eat enough of the escargot with lots of bread to mop up the garlicky butter.
This is a lovely and classic restaurant.
Mike took me here for a dinner date and we both enjoyed how cosy and yet fancy the place is. The interior is warm and pleasing, but I expected a little more from the meals.
The menu is very basic and regular for a French restaurant. The soups however tasted good and healthy, like the home-made ones I prepare.
Excellent food and service My friend had a cough and was given a hot honey and lemon drink Next visit Busier than the last time but food and service just as good
Whilst it is expensive, it's not Michèlen. You get what you pay for. Very good service, good food and attentive staff. A genuine brasserie experience. We had a four course meal with a glass of house champagne and a bottle of wine for £180 including service. So not cheap but a lovely couple of hours in a restaurant in, possibly, one of the most high class areas of London.
High end bistro with well executed french typical plates. Located in the heart of mayfair and close to the park the athmosphere is relax and cosmopolitan. The wine list is not as exiting as the food but still offers decent choices. Better booking as the place is popular.
Small restaurant offering classical French cuisine in the heart of Mayfair. Pre-booking available via their website. Extremely busy during lunchtime and evening covers. Highly attentive and friendly staff. Starters, mains and sweets offer a stunning selection of French classics. Extensive wine list. Highly recommended.
Would have had 5 stars but my usual specialitie du maison, the eponymous boudin blanc, was off the menu. NO VANILLA MASH....life is hard sometimes. Anyway, business as usual and glad this little gem has weathered the COVID storm and remains open for custom.
Amazing food, lovely service. Great opportunity to catch up with colleagues. Love the opportunity to meet friend and have a good time.
I went there and had steak tartare, I specially asked to get it not spicy and you guessed it, it was. The service could have been a bit faster also.
Concerning the food quality nothing to say about that. Went there a previous time and had a Magret de canard, it was delicious and correctly cooked.
Had a great lunch with really good wine and attentive service. Great atmosphere too, relaxed yet still smart. Give it a go if you are in the market for French food.
This little place in the heart of Mayfair offers great variety of the French food. I would highly recommend it for an evening out for any occasion. The portions are generally quite big and you would not leave this place hungry. I really enjoyed my evening out there and I wish to return again.

The six of us had a fantastic dinner here - excellent food (we all had different starters and mains and not a single disappointment), very cosy atmosphere and very attentive service. Highly recommended
Has to be my all time favourite french restaurant. Le Boudin Blanc serves sum of the most beautiful french delicacies, Must visit!
The best French bistro in London. Classic dishes executed perfectly by quality staff in quality surroundings. We cant wait to go back.
So good ! Really. By all measure : service is friendly and knowledgeable, menu diversified (French inspired, admittedly), execution very good. The wine list ? extensive. Excellent standards !
A wedding reception under Covid times .... but the staff were very attentive to everyone's needs and the food portions were excellent and very generous.
Service was extremely slow on a Friday lunch sitting outside. After being seated 15 min passed before we had to ask for bread and a good 40 min before order was even taken . Food when it came out was good enough. Most of the staff seemed french speaking.
Great french experience...food gorgeous...location amazing...staff friendly and super professional...without the sommelier Chiara we couldn't have enjoyed as much as we did thanks again Chiara for the great guest experience offered.
Must try beef tartare and onion soup.😋😋😋
Good food and excellent wine selection.
Always excellent. Very friendly knowledgeable staff.
Consistenly lovely food and service

Very nice food and okay service (they could be a bit friendlier). Best thing is the tables outside on the road with no cars. Price is what I expected.
Great French meal....👍👍

What a find!!!! We eat out a lot yet we were incredibly impressed with our evening meal. Absolutely delicious, what a fabulous restaurant. We felt like we were in holiday in France. Thank you and we can’t wait to return. The staff are also wonderful - warm, attentive and friendly. Really fantastic
Trusty favourite - love the onion soup and tartare. Have been going back for ten years and have always had a warm welcome and delicious meal. See you soon :)
My favorite French restaurant in London! Very good food, super service, great location.... Highly recommended!

Better than average food, excellent service. Should be considered an option for anyone looking for a place to eat. Somewhat upscale, not a average cafe.
Very nice food and okay service (they could be a bit friendlier). Best thing is the tables outside on the road with no cars. Price is what I expected.
Lovely French cuisine in London. Very romantic and cozy setting. The escargots is a must!
Being going here for well over ten years. It's obviously good. The onion soup is the best in London and steak tartar is really good.
Classic French bistrot food.
Simple tasty and lovely service. Great wine list too.
We have been going here for nearly 20 years.
Charming high end rustic place in Mayfair.
The star on every visit was the escargot.
Good food. Authentic French style. Not overpriced.
Staff is friendly and all speak French
I’ve eaten here several times over many years and it’s always been… pleasant, without ever being exceptional. My experience there yesterday for a “proper Friday afternoon” lunch was underwhelming and I shan’t be returning anytime soon. It started well — the soupe de poisson was very good and my guest chose well with mackerel. However, the Welsh lamb was parsimonious, and the side order of fries so overcooked they flipped across the table when attempting to fork them! The white wine was served tepid but improved in the ice bucket over time. G&T’s at £21 each were delicious. Sadly there are many better options than Boudin Blanc.
French restaurant love it. Always special on the board. Good quality French cuisine not cheap but is all worth it.
My favorite French restaurant in London! Very good food, super service, great location.... Highly recommended!
Nice little bistro like place with outdoor seating and heating.
Really delicious, lovely service and my first snail experience. The parsley garlic butter is amazing!
Brilliant. Best set lunch menu I've had in ages. Delicious. Big portions. Great service.
Food is fine but overpriced and service doesn’t go with that prices: slow, order mistakes, billing wrongly for +35£.
Wonderful French food in London. The atmosphere is charming if not a bit manufactured (not sure those were real French accents, but oh well).
The food and service are really, really good. The downfall for me is that this place is very cramped and it can get extremely stuffy in the dining rooms.
Classic French food in central London. Buzzing vibe on a week day. Downside is tables can be a bit close together.
Solid bistro. Good menu with not too much flair. Great service and very good, reasonably priced wine list.
A great place to enjoy fine French cuisine, beautiful restaurant, with extremely attentive, friendly staff. Made the whole experience enjoyable and memorable. Will be back!
Amazing food, really friendly staff.
A favourite place for us. Food, service is brilliant and very french. It's expensive though - but you're are in Mayfair.
Lovely little French bistro with seemingly only French staff and excellent French food and wine. Good service too.
It is a good place to go for a romantic dinner. It is dimly lit and the food is well prepared. Rating of 3.9 seems to be fair.
Nice little french restaurant with a very good wine list. It is too noisy and service little slow
Really tasty food good portion sizes, really nice environment and staff were really nice
Took my wife for the wedding anniversary. The food was lovely and the service was excellent.
Excellent..service and food wise...
A wonderful unpretentious restaurant tucked away in Shepherd Market. Perfect for a lunchtime steak frites.
Rustic Gallic food and more adventurous French dishes in a cosy brasserie with mismatched furniture.
As far as french food goes the food is really tasty here. Also they have an amazing wine selection. A great selection on the menu for both meat and fish eaters. The atmosphere is very rustic and cosy but can get loud on weekends on an evening.
