Lovely place, nice atmosphere, good relaxing music. Food was great, lovely cocktails. Staff were so friendly. The owner he was very nice and helpful. Down stairs was a nice intimate lounge were a DJ was playing nice revival music on a Wednesday night were you also have space to dance. Celebrated my husband birthday here. They help to bring his birthday cake and sang happy birthday it was really nice. I would recommend this place you will not be disappointed. Had a Groupon voucher so many nice dishes to choose from. Left Very happy and full.

Great food, friendly & fun service, terrific value (with a groupon voucher) and all round fabulous night. I'd really recommend the red pepper callaloo and the jerk chicken, which was full of flavour and perfectly seasoned. Hopefully will be back again soon.

The staff were excellent, very helpful, friendly and informative. It's a very relaxed vibe there. The place was spotless and the food was outstanding, it was clear to us that they are very passionate about the food that's served there. The cocktails were lovely. I had Jerk Chicken and my wife had oxtail. Both were really well cooked. The oxtail melted in the mouth and the rice was some of the best we'd ever had. Definitely going back again.

I’m a serial diner, I love exploring new places and experiencing different flavours. I just had to leave a review for this restaurant because it was amazing, the moment you step through the door, you feel welcomed. Simple decor, good mood music, it all helps in making you feel really relaxed. The service - fantastic! So attentive and never left us needing to call or get her attention. Although she was very busy, she made time to chat with us and was always ready with the menu just at the right time. Good service is so hard to find nowadays, great service is a rarity, the service we received, far exceeded our expectations. Just amazing. The drinks - between us, we ordered eight cocktails, each better than the last! The cocktails are STRONG but delicious. The alcohol doesn’t overpower the taste of the drink. So many flavours, my favourite was the Ashanti Paradise!! The food - I’m from the Caribbean myself, so I know what good, authentic Caribbean cuisine should taste like. The food was out of this world! So flavoursome and just scrumptious! If I could leave more than five stars I would. Starters My friend got the saltfish fritters and I got the prawns and mussels. I always worry when it comes to seafood because sometimes it can go so wrong but not in this case, It was all so RIGHT! Delicious! Mains My friend ordered the curry goat with rice and peas, plantain and coleslaw. She didn’t leave a morsel on her plate, at one point I thought she was going to lick it clean! She enjoyed every bite. I ordered the sea bass and was told it would come as a broth, I wasn’t entirely sold on the dish but regretted my entire thought process upon tasting it. My tastebuds went to heaven and back. It was cooked to perfection, so soft and flaky! Even the potatoes that accompanied it, were full of flavour. We could not fault this restaurant at all, it ticked all our boxes and we’ll definitely be back soon! Just a fantastic dining experience overall.

Ordered via uber... FIRST TIME CUSTOMER... Ordered L Jersey chicken and jelloff rice (with extra scotch bonnett) I've posted photos!!!! Jerk is slow cooked and I literally couldn't stop eating. Jelloff rice is to die for they also took the time to finely slice scotch bonnett and put on top of my rice no other restaurant has done this for me please check the photos. This is my new go to. I will definitely be visiting the restaurant in person. Currently in belly paradise Thankyou.

Food was absolutely delicious. Make sure your hungry because portions are generous. Cooked refresh so a little bit of a wait but well worth it. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area. Only reason this didn't get 5 stars was because it didn't have accessible amenities for wheelchair users.

The best African food I have had in a long time. Reading some of these reviews I can't believe it's the same place. I'm white and felt totally welcome and had great service. I would definitely recommend if you want authentic home cooked African and Caribbean food. The cocktails are also to die for ...

A lot of good traditional African and Caribbean food available here. The Ayamase meat 🥩🌶 is a delicious stew but the large tripe part of it is not something I would ever eat again, but that's just because offal isn't usually my thing. The peppered prawns 🦐🌶 and mussels is one of the best dishes.

I saw a groupon for 3 cocktails and upon further research I noticed it was an African / Caribbean restaurant and as an African -American I was really interested.....the reviews were also sooo good. I came with my 2 friends and the owner greeted us and was so friendly and welcoming. He made us samples of food to try it was amazing. The drinks / cocktails were spot on and incredible great liquor /mix ratio. I’m a picky person usually and Everything was so great ... no complaints. 10/10 Will come back again. Thank you so much

I have attended the Ashanti Lounge Bar a few times now. Not only do they have a bar and amazing, succulent Afro Caribbean upstairs, but there's also an element of surprise. Downstairs hosts a dance floor with live djs. I attended on a Friday where they host a female lineup of djs on rotation; the music is great with something for everybody. The owner and management are friendly people who take time to get to know their clientele and the area they serve. I would definitely recommend the joint for both the good food and music.

The starters we had here was really very hot and very good for my taste buds . The main course was fine not too good nor too bad.. but the smell of the spices cooked in kitchen were adhered to our jackets and clothes. Had to dry wash them immediately .. it was the first time I tried food with Ashtami spices and the lamb starter was a nice one

The establishment is small but cosy. Basically looks like a living room with a bar Please dont go on tuesdays as this is karaoke night and the music is loud. Lots of choice from jamaican to nigerian and ghanaian food. Music is too loud but if you like Sade then you'll be in heaven. The servers are wonderful though so cant give no less than 3 stars.

Came here for an event, the restaurant is so cute, the way it's set up, like a mini home. Down stairs is the dance floor and it's a decent size with a bar, seated area, mirrors and flashing lights. Food is beautiful.

I visted Ashanti bar for my cousin's birthday, which I didn't have a good experience. After saying I wouldn't go back I actually went back and I must say I had a lovely time the food was lovely and so were the staff. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I will definitely go back.

Pretty reasonable service, was a bit apprehensive at first as the waitress was quite sharp, but once she loosened up she was OK, food was good and it your a cocktail drinker you will enjoy the mixes, be warned they are not for the faint hearted light drinkers as they are pretty strong, large food portions and you get a doggy bag if you need it, enjoyed the carrot cake, treated home made overall a high 6.5 out of 10. I would go again and mark higher if the initial reception is better, worth a visit
