Reviews of Los Mochis Restaurant
E. M.
The food here was tasty and the restaurant had a nice ambience, however some of the portions can be quite small for the price particularly the guacamole and tostaditos which are quite literally a mouthful. That being said, the variety of tacos is vast and all that we tried were really flavoursome. The desserts were nice however the standout items were definitely the tacos and sushi.

I had already heard a lot about the restaurant and just had to go there, I tell you, the visit was worth it.
It started right at the entrance to the restaurant. The painting on the outside wall makes you curious about the interior and you are not disappointed.
First, you are welcomed in a very friendly manner at the door and escorted to the table. It is noticeable that the ambience is somewhat dark, which creates a special atmosphere.
There are very cool pictures on the wall, as well as a shrine to Master Yoda.
Now for the food. We ordered across the menu and had almost everything the menu had to offer. Some dishes blew us away so much that we ordered them again.
From the guacamole and the tacos to the sushi and the ceviche, it was simply a dream.
The wine recommendation with the meal was also terrific. A Georgian white wine, who would have thought of that, but simply a dream.
The service was phenomenal from start to finish.
All in all, a visit that was definitely worthwhile and that I will repeat.

Delicious from start to finish. Ambience is great, decor is great. Dog friendly which is a huge plus. Excellent cocktails, fresh and delicious sushi. Tacos were nicer in the lettuce wrap. The only part of the meal I didn’t like was the lobster taco - the texture was a bit weird. Everything else was unbelievably delicious! Deserts were also excellent (in photo).

We had a staff dinner and decided to try Los Mochis as we were all quite interested in the whole Japanese/Mexican fusion mumbo jumbo.
On arrival it's obvious that the décor is quite nice, but the seating arrangements not so much. Out table was SO close to the next one that we could have been all dining together like a big happy family.
We check the menu and holy guacamole batman! This place is NOT cheap. But whatever, we're not paying so we go ahead and order.
Then cocktails arrive and I make my best Zoolander impression: "What is this, a cocktail for ants?"
And that pretty much sums up the evening: tiny portions of tasty (credit where is due) but overpriced food in a less than ideal setting.
I doubt any of us is ever coming back.

I never would have thought a mash up of Mexican and Japanese foods would work... But this does. Their sea bass ceviche was excellent. Spicy tuna roll was good. The tacos were very good. Lots of interesting items on the menu and we'll be back to try more.

We had dinner here and it was a great experience overall. Food was delicious as were the drinks. Sushi was great, tacos were a highlight and guacamole was good too. The miso cod taco was definitely the best thing we tried, I recommend to anyone who goes here! Table staff were helpful and friendly. Ambience is nice for an evening meal.
I have knocked one star off due to a specific incident. We had booked a table for 4 at 6.30pm (had the table until 8.15) but wanted to change to 5 due to an extra person joining, host staff said absolutely no way they were fully booked and there wasn’t a single spare chair in sight. Luckily, our 5th person cancelled and didn’t show up, but the two seater table beside us stayed empty the whole time we were there, as did the four seater table beside that. So it felt as though they could have been more accommodating to our request or at least more honest given that the tables were still empty when we left. All in all a good experience and i would go again for the food, I’d just be wary of trying to make any last minute changes to bookings.

Best new restaurant in London. Hands down!
Super tasty, exciting and well executed sharing food. Cocktail and drinks selection second to none (Los Mochis Tommy’s a must and a you will get a tequila masterclass that compares to any whisky bar). Well informed, hospitable, friendly service.
Music, interior etc; attention to detail is impeccable, but more than that the whole experience is pure fun.

This review is hard to write because whilst the food is delicious, the painfully small portion sizes and associated high costs are difficult to stomach. Now were money not a consideration this would probably earn 5 stars, but for those of us in the real world it was disappointing to pay £12 (not inc 12.5% for service) for 2 small mouthfuls of Tuna Ceviche. The Maki Roll, whilst cheaper, was still far too stingy (even in classy sushi places in Japan you'd get larger rolls). Despite the beautiful presentation, the cod taco was only 'good', but not excellent, and unfortunately it took a long time to arrive. It's such a shame that this is the case, because were they to bolster the portion sizes it could be a brilliant dining experience. I would also recommend including all available soft drinks on the menu, as on first impressions the options seem very limited. The staff were kind and professional when dealing with an allergy.

My favourite dinning experience, this summer yet! The weather was great so we dinned outside. Our waiter, Harrison was friendly, conversational, very attentive and recommended some great food and drink options. The food is Japanese and Mexican fusion. I love sea food so really enjoyed the Miso black cod, grilled prawn Kushi yaki and chicken taco options. The Namesake, pineapple cocktail was my favourite. Tiramisu for dessert, the portion was a good size. A little bit too much cocoa powder, but finished it as it was delicious. The platting was exquisite. The service was pacy, we didn't have to wait long at all between plates. They will definitely be seeing me again.

Arrived without a booking when the place was full and yet had an awesome experience. It didn't take a minute to be served at the bar and quickly after I was being served food too. The staff were super attentive at all times. The fusion of Mexican with Japanese was enough to keep me excited about trying this place for months but trying it was another story- absolutely delicious food, gorgeous menus, made me want to try everything! And even enjoyed drinking a Paloma which I don't normally do (: Definitely a must try!

We had the most wonderful evening at Los Mochis!
Where to begin... the food is incredible, the perfect blend of light, healthy & delicious. It’s a very clever menu, the ingredients work together harmoniously to create taste sensations, everything was delicious, but the best thing we tried was the Crispy California Mini Tacos, which were absolutely divine, the falafels & chocolate fondant were firm favourites too! The staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly, service was great. Everything felt safe RE Covid too, the restaurant is very clean, the staff were wearing masks & hand sanitiser is readily available. The doors open out onto the terrace, so fresh air flows indoors too. We sat on the outdoor terrace & dined alfresco, which is beautiful on a summer evening, but the interior is fabulous too & so well designed. The artwork on the walls is incredible & enhances the truly unique & calming ambience. There’s so much to love, we can’t wait to come back soon!

A really enjoyable place to sit, eat and drink with friends.
I’m not always a fan of fusion, but the subtlety of the dishes and blending of Japanese and Mexican flavours here were excellent. Every single dish was fresh and vibrant.
The sea bass ceviche was especially fresh and zingy. The broth especially had a real kick and freshness to it.
The miso black cod taco was my favourite taco, and the spicy salmon maki roll was insanely delicious.
They do good margaritas and serve some nice bottled beers. Also the service was friendly and helpful.
The restaurant has a real neighbourhood vibe and I can see why it already has a lot of regular customer. Very impressed.

Japanese&Mexican experience, all food was delicious.Tacos,Sashimi,Maki and a second floor bar where you can try Coctails. Worth visiting. Details @babaneyiycez Instagram account

Absolutely delighted to have found Los Mochis, a restaurant that cooks up delicious food and caters for food intolerances. Boasting a 100% gluten free menu and a substantial dairy free menu, this has to be the best restaurant in London for food allergies.
I ordered the tasting menu and was blown away, it’s the first time I’ve been able to truly pig out on delicious food without fear of an allergic reaction.
The ambience was good and the staff attentive when needed. I will return again and again until I’ve tried every last dish on the menu. Thank you for an incredible dining experience Los Mochis!
K. P.
Fantastic!! Really friendly and attentive staff, great layout with separate bar and dining areas, well thought out interior!
Food was incredible - I'd rate higher than the top central London restaurants - would recommend the Sea Bass Cerviche!! Included some photos (not the best quality as taken from videos) but you can see the beautiful presentation too. Full of flavor!
Would highly recommend for both client meetings and groups of friends - I hope they do a bottomless brunch option soon, will definitely be returning!
L. K. G.
This place is just incredible! Such as attention and dedication on the flavor and presentation of the dishes. The staff is super friendly and receptive but I gotta highlight the waitress ia. She gave us the best suggestions and was so welcoming and attentive that felt like we just met a friend. My husband and me will definitely come back 😊
R. P. L.
Simply amazing,! If you’re a Japanese / Mexican food lover then a visit to Los Mochis is a must. This hidden gem of a restaurant in Notting Hill will make your old and bored taste buds truly glow again. The food and atmosphere was simply one of the best I’ve experienced in London. One of my standout dishes from our meal was the Miso Black Cod Tortillas and the Salmon Tiradito, it was to die for… I highly recommend that if you’re coming to Notting Hill that you book in advance and visit Los Mochis, you will not be disappointed with the food nor the different mashed up flavours it has to offer… A true hidden gem 👍🏼
S. M.
Great ambiance and decor. The menu is thought through and the tacos we tried were very good. However the service was very disappointing. We had an early dinner booking and wanted to get some drinks first and then maybe some nibbles and the waiter got really nervous when we didn’t immediately order food. He came back after a couple of minutes to ask whether we were ready to order. Someone else from the staff then came to us reminding us that we would have had to leave the table after an hour or so, so if we wanted to order we should have done so. Result: really bad customer service got in the way of the fun we were otherwise having just with our drinks and guacamole!! For this price point (high!) I would definitely expect a higher standard of service and better trained staff.
S. B.
This tucked away restaurant is definitely one to try. On a summers day, it's perfect with the doors open so you can be sure to enjoy the weather no matter whether you're inside or outside.
Picking a wine to enjoy is so easy with the help of their in-house wine expert and the food is both extremely well presented and tastes incredible.
The Maki rolls come in portions of 5 pieces and the Tacos have 2 per portion, which means it's designed as a sharing menu. I'd suggest picking 3 or 4 Tacos to start with between 2 people and going on from there as they are surprisingly filling with the Maki rolls.
S. P.
Absolutely brilliant dining experience, staff were attentive and service was outstanding. The margarita cocktails went down exceptionally well. Food was 10/10, beyond delicious fusion of Japanese and Mexican, full of flavour and we loved everything we ordered. The desserts, especially the matcha blondie was out of this world. A great vibe and ambience - the restaurant was packed on a Wednesday in January! What more could you want! Have already booked to go again.
A. D.
Beautiful, seamlessly combined Japanese and Mexican cuisine. This is not fusion but a cuisine in its own right.
I. R.
Great place - great food - really busy and great vibe- our waiter was very busy but still took care of us as much as any other restaurant manages these days.
Donald however did his best to kill the mood of the whole place which. I can't imagine what happened to him today to explain the shadow he cast over our experience.
D. M.
Fabulous Japanese Mexican Combo, in an epic location on 2 floors, with super terrace and
on a quiet street in Notting Hill. The food quality and presentation was fabulous, there’s no other word that could do it justice. Los Mochis service, wine selection and vibe will definitively bring us back!
K. B.
I enjoyed Los Mochis, however, I would probably never eat there again. I was not really a fan of their sushi. Whilst everything else was very flavourful, I just didn't love any one thing and thought the portions on the tasting menu were too much. Two tacos could have been a meal on its own as they are quite full on, however, they gave us four each in addition to everything else, so we felt bad for wasting so much food. My husband and I also made poor choices with our cocktails - the one I had tasted like aniseed, but this was not listed in the description. So, I never drank it and it was also totally wasted.
J. H.
Wow what a place. I had the pleasure to visit this venue last Friday. It has not yet opened but the food and the service was absolutely fantastic. We started out with some cocktails in the lounge area upstairs and my, they did not dissapoint. The bar tender was fantastic and very knowledgeable. There are some very interesting twists to old classics. A negroni with Japanese whiskey and sake. Works really well. As the place isn't fully opened we were offered a cut down menu but still with plenty to chose from. The concept of Japanese/Mexican might sound strange to some but it does really work. The dishes were gorgeous from the Maki rolls to the beef tacos. The flavours popping and the presentation was nothing but spectacular. Finally a mention of the young lady that served our table she was extremely attentive, very knowledgeable and happy to explain the dishes and the ingredients. I cant wait for this restaurant to open in earnest. Great food a great vibe and by all accounts a great team running the show.
L. M.
What an experience! Absolutely loved Los Mochis & have already gone back a second time within the week to try & make my way through the rest of the menu & check out the Friday night vibe.
Pumping on a Friday night with the friendly staff keeping the drinks flowing - Tommy Margarita is a must! Super cool interior and the Mexican/Japanese combination really works.
The mini crab tacos & crab guacamole are outrageously good, steak tacos are great and the ceviche’s are super fresh (the vegan ceviche is also amazing & I’m not even a vegan but it had so many flavors going on).
Tried their weekly special which was a tuna for Japan week (seen in pic) & I really hope that have it added to the menu permanently as was one of a favs! Definitely recommend the place!
K. B.
First time visiting Los Mochis and had a very nice experience. Atmosphere is beautiful and service is excellent. The dishes we tried were all fabulous and we loved the variety of vegan options as well. We wished the portions were a bit larger for the price but otherwise was a 5/5.
N. M.
The food is so moreish and the setting and ambiance make you feel like you're on holiday. The team are also really friendly and helpful. I'm (mostly) vegetarian but the seabass ceviche is so good that I honestly can't resist it, and their cucumber sushi is something else. Plus I haven't tasted a taco I didn't love – IMO the courgette dynamite is an unsung hero on the menu. Hats off to the chefs!
E. D.
I have dined at Los Mochis several times in recent months and I have been very impressed with my experience every time! Great decor / ambience and the staff are always attentive and friendly. The cocktails are amazing! My favourite is the Tommy’s Margarita, closely followed by the Pink Chilli Paloma. Very more-ish! The delicious food is the true highlight however! I have tried several of the ceviches and sashimis- they are all super fresh and tasty. There is a wide selection of tacos- available in a gluten free tortilla or a lettuce wrap. The Trailer Park Chicken, Miso Cod and Dynamite Prawn are some of my favourites. Looking forward to my next visit!
M. C.
I kicked off an amazing evening with one of their signature cocktails and it only got better from there.
Staff were great, friendly and knew their dishes, guiding me to choose some fantastic food.
The décor and art are super cool, setting the stage for a wonderful experience.
Not only do you dine in style, but every meal you buy then buys a meal for someone less fortunate, through their give back project, what could be better.
Thank you for a wonderful evening, it was the best way to step back into dining out again.
V. P.
Great night here, lovely atmosphere and decor, amazing food, the desserts are to die for. Great drinks as well. Pricey, but it's what to expect from a notting hill location - still good value.

We've eaten here twice now. The food is delicious, the margaritas are great and the waitress who served us on both occasions is fantastic. ( wish I knew her name for this review.) It can get a bit expensive if you drink as many margaritas as we do. You pay service charge and an additional tip, but our waitress is so good we were happy to pay an additional tip. There is an option not to pay the additional tip. I was a little disappointed we couldn't eat outdoors this time, but I totally understand why. As our English weather is so unpredictable. On the second visit our friend brought her kid with her. The waitress brought out a non spicy menu for her. I don't know if this is normal in restaurants as we've never been out with a child before, but I thought this was very attentive we were really impressed.
C. K.
Food was delicious and very high quality however beware as the portion sizes are very small. Food was also very slow to come out. Service was good though.
A. A.
Wow… what a night! Incredible food! Some favs are the tuna ceviche, jalapeño hamachi sushi, duck and dynamite prawn tacos YUM!!! The Tommy’s are hands down the best in London… los mochis is 100% added to my little black book. Highly recommend!

Beautiful food, amazing atmosphere but a bizarre wait staff experience.
Attended Los Mochis last night for a birthday dinner. First time there and I will say that the food was amazing, delicious but extremely small and over priced.
What brings my score down was the utterly bizarre wait staff structure. As far as I can tell there seems to be several subclasses of staff. There are waiters and waitresses wearing pale shirts, who take orders for food drinks etc. Seems simple enough, but then there are two other types who wear black shirts. One wear aprons and delivers food only and the others just stand there in the middle of the dining area observing. If you signal them to order another drink or food, they then go and get another waiter and return to their sentry point...
Then there is the wine situation. My friends decided to order a bottle. We had ordered a glass earlier from our waitress, which was simple enough but when we ordered a bottle we were told that she can't take our order and would send "A man" to help us make our choice.....we had already made our choice but what the hey....so a man in a black suit arrives and announces he is ready to give advice on what wine to select.....we simply tell him we already have selected and off he pops and the waitress brings the bottle.....weeeeeeeeeird.
This happened again when we ordered a second bottle. It just seems unnecessary and a little 'try hard' to be seen as exclusive.
But....overall the service, whilst strange, was very prompt and the food arrived quickly, was amazing and very fresh. A little overpriced for what it is but was nice for a special occasion. Just let down by the bizarre table service.
H. J.
What superb fusion - American style Mexi-Japanese. Waiter recommendations excellent. Servers need training.
A.
Cannot recommend Los Mochis enough.
Firstly: I'm coeliac, and everything on the menu is gluten free.
Not only that but every dish tasted utterly fantastic, the ceviche was my favourite but we sampled virtually everything on the menu, even when full we had to try more.
Drinks - Palomas and Tommys margaritas were our choice. Recently Paloma's for me have been missing the mark, too bitter or smokey.. yet these were absolutely perfect with just the right amount of fresh Grapefruit juice. Then they brought our a special spring summer frozen Paloma.. fair to say we were very happy.
Vibe - excellent music, great service.
Can't wait to visit again!!
M. F.
Super nice place in the heart of Notting Hill. Attentive staff, nice atmosphere and delicious food but definitely on the pricey side for the side of the portions.
All in all the taste of the food was amazing tho so will be back for special occasions!
L. G.
Everything about Los Mochis is outstanding, the decor, attention to detail, the cocktails, the atmosphere, the service and most importantly the food. Each dish is of impeccable quality and the flavours pop with every bite. Such a fun place to be and will definitely be rushing back.
O. L.
I was unsure about fusion food, but this place was just out of this world. It is the complete package; with food to die for; delicious twists on cocktails; friendly staff; and a really cool atmosphere.
If you get the chance to eat here you must.

Location:
Most beautiful restaurants I ever visited. You can clearly see that someone tried to creat something unique, something that stands out, a special place that is different. The entire interior design gives a unique touch with its brick walls combined with interior icons such as the wishbone chair from Carl Hansen. Colorful paintings are to be found on every floor and the most unique touch comes the shrine of Yoda :-)
It is located at the ground floor and everyone coming down from upstairs can immediately see it. The bar which is located upstairs is decorated with colorful mosaics and the entire space gives you a warmth feeling, more like a big living room then a restaurant. Incredible and lovely place.
Service:
The service is outstanding. I have never seen so much staff in a restaurant and you can feel it as you always have someone walking by and you get whatever you need in a couple of minutes. The sommelier is very knowledgeable and you can tell him what you like and he will find the perfect match for you. Even the restaurant manager come and greets everyone.
Food:
I love dessert so I will start with dessert. The best chocolate fondue I ever had. Tiramisu is next level which is surprising as it is not an Italian place. The blonde macha dessert is awesome as well. The Tacos, best tacos you can get combined with some unique touches. My favorite ones are with beef and the black cod. The dynamite taco is very nice as well, but I can imagine that some people might find it to spicy. The sushi is incredible especially the one with this orange sauce. I could only eat that that’s how tasty it is. You can definitely taste the Mexican touch in the Food combined with the Japanese food. Ohh and the guacamole with the shrimps os very nice as a starter. I would definitely recommend that.
Conclusion:
I would always go back and recommend the place. Awesome food, awesome interior and service is next level. A very special place and one of the best restaurants I‘ve ever been. Chapeaux to the owners and the staff.
j. m.
Tacos were good but nothing special: cod tempura and trailer park chicken were tasty steak was over cooked and flavourless, over reliance on punchy sauce. Makis are the smallest I’ve ever seen. Ceviche ok. Dessert decent and the mochis after which restaurant are named aren’t even made in house (but I’m guessing from flavour selection made by Little Moons which do admittedly do the best ice cream mochis served by even places like Nobu - but perplexed why you would call your restaurant after this Japanese fusion dessert and then not even make your own??!)
Service was friendly but definitely not attentive and a little patchy considering amount of staff.
Also, non alcoholic cocktails were thoughtlessly priced at £1 less than the alcoholic version (??!!) and I wouldn’t have minded if it was deliciously balanced and thought out. But it was literally an overly sweet blend of juice with a floating pansy, as if that would make up for the lack of thought…
Overall underwhelming for the prices. But I guess it’s Notting hill. You can get an outstanding meal (high quality ingredients, lots of creativity in the dishes, beautiful presentation; a meal that truly leaves you impressed) in many east London establishments for the same price per head. Whenever I travel west to eat I always wonder how people with excess disposable income don’t have higher standards. All glamour, no substance but this isn’t atypical for this area IMHO.
Oh and the guacamole was over salted and meh…honestly I make a way better one at home and I’m no Mexican chef. Sadly the salsa was not any better either. When you can’t even get a basic starter like that down pat as a Mexican restaurant (fusion or not) it doesn’t bode well for the rest of the meal.
C. H.
A sensational fusion of Japanese and Mexican flavours, combined with fantastic service and a great bar with knowledable staff. The Octopus Anticucho Taco was a real highlight from the food menu but every dish shined with flavour. The bar staff were great and served me with some great mezcal and tequila recommendations, and I now know the difference between the two! I will definitely be a returning customer.
P. W.
Top quality food and service! The combination of Mexican and Japanese food is just different, the food presentation is next level and the taste was amazing. The staffs are on another level. Tommy’s cocktail all the way!
N. L.
Loud music is unnecessary in an already noisy echo prone room, makes it hard to talk. . Food is good quality but Japanese and Mexican don't really mix so some of the dishes are a bit sketchy.
M. b.
Hands down best restaurant I’ve been to in london for a long time! The flavours were incredible! The truffle ceviche is divine! The falafels so freakin good, Also my personal fave were the fish tacos which were incredible! Not to mention the cocktails are insane! Finish it off with with the matcha cake with icecream and the caramel cheesecake!! Can’t wait to go back!
R. C.
Disappointing flavours and overpriced for what it is. Tacos in particular disappointing / one dimensional flavour.
Ambience is ok but nothing special. Staff very friendly so can’t fault them on that.
R. L.
What a find , it’s a must from me
Great tasty food well served by friendly staff , relaxed cool vibe .
Marcus the owner is as delightful as this classy establishment .
Take my word on this one you won’t be disappointed
H. M.
Los Mochis is just what London needs. Fantastic staff, awesome cocktails and the food is just out of this world. It is just divine. I cannot recommend highly enough. An absolute gem in London's crown. Great place to catch up friends, have a birthday, first date, date night etc. I could go on and on.
I LOVE the art work. Just amazing. Huge well done to all the team involved. A real hit and one that will keep going because it is an all round winner. Food that simply melts in your mouth. The most mind blowing pairing of Mexican and Japanese food. Who would have thought that would work? The Carne Asada Steak Taco was simply melt in the mouth. Beautiful food from presentation to taste.
Every mouthful was an explosion of different flavours and an experience that I have not had in London for quite a while. I couldn't really take pics as you just wanted to try the food as quickly as you could.
Huge congrats to the team that have opened such a great place. There is a great vibe here which makes you feel really comfortable as well. Especially if you are a single female waiting for friends. The staff are knowledgable, very friendly and kind. Makes a huge difference these days.
What hugely impressed me is that they have created the Los Mochis "Give Back" programme and are working with local charities so that every time you purchase a meal in the restaurant they will provide a meal for for the less fortunate and vulnerable. Huge gratitude for this as you then know that you are making a difference. Huge kudos to the team behind the restaurant. That is what making a difference is all about.
You have to try it to believe it. In Tina Turner's words, 'Simply the Best'
S. T.
I highly recommend Los Mochis! By far the best Mexican fusion food I have ever tried. A favourite was the falafels, Trailer park chicken tacos and all of the sushi options!
The location is perfect right beside Notting Hill Gate station. The vibe of the restaurant is also amazing, interior is beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly! I will definitely be back here many more times I can't recommend enough!
Y. M.
Excellent service and fresh and exquisite food. The staff are extremely polite and helpful. We adore Mochi too!
H. F.
Beautiful food and fabulous service. I would highly recommend coming here, such a fun vibe. Andy was a incredible host and I will be coming back!!
D. A.
Maybe I forgot about restaurant quality food due to the long lockdown but this is some of the best Taco/Ceviche/Sushi I've had ever. Great cosy atmosphere and good service. All you need.
F. F.
Awesome location. Food is very good, but a little bit too expensive.
Service needs improvement, given the 12.5% automatically added service charge.
M. E.
Cannot recommend highly enough! Lovely atmosphere, staff were super friendly and the food/cocktails were out of this world. Also, dog friendly is a delightful bonus too!
J. G.
First time in London, first time in Los Mochis! A unique restaurant, the definition of professionalism in hospitality! The decoration and atmosphere of this place (the only Japanese-Mexican restaurant in London) are stunning and the food absolutely amazing. Don’t miss the tuna tartar, the black cod and the seabass ceviche! Furthermore, the cocktails are highly recommended! The personnel was very kind and the service was quick and excellent. We will definitely return to Los Mochis… because these people definitely know what they are doing! Los Mochis, we love you!!!
H. D.
Recently went for dinner here and was very excited to experience the Japanese/Mexican fusion, but sadly it didn't quite live up to my expectations. Pros: lovely ambience, speedy service and great margaritas! Cons: very small portions for the price, tacos were very average and a couple of teething issues with their time management of table bookings (appreciate it is very new and these will be ironed out). Great potential here but need to work on the value for money.
G. G.
I had been wanting to go to @losmochislondon located in Notting Hill for quite some time and finally was there yesterday. I ordered the most delicious spicy margarita - The Los Mochis Tommy's and some guacamole while we waited for our main dishes to arrive.
The food was fantastic and perfect for us as we love both Japanese and Mexican food. Los Mochis combines Mexican spirit with Japanese elegance, Mexican art and design with Japanese coolness and Mexican flavours with Japanese techniques. In short, it is the ultimate Pan-Pacific pairing.
A. W.
I have been here twice recently and the food the first time was average or below, and the service painfully slow. The second time, food was very good or even excellent in some parts, but they got our requests wrong, and service while impeccable otherwise at the start, towards the end was back to it's slow and unreliable pace. The experience was thus not what could have been. This is a popular place, and I am sure it will remain so given the cuisine, location and menu but I hope that they can be more consistent in their quality and iron out the wrinkles in an otherwise pleasant service levels.

If I could give this place 10 stars, I absolutely would!! The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere was very intimate, which made it the perfect place for a date. I highly recommend! It’s officially my new favourite place in Notting Hill. Thanks for the lovely evening, Los Mochis! ❤️

The food was very tasty and definitely different, but the portion sizes are designed for a 5 year old child.
I appreciate the quality is high, but you really need to be more generous.
If you’re a big eater like me, you will need at least four of the large plates to satisfy you.

Los Mochis is by far one of the most unique restaurants in town. The Mexican-Japanese combo came as a surprise which worked perfectly and tasted amazing. The ambience, service and decor of the place really puts Los Mochis in a category of its own, I can’t wait to be back.

Really lovely and delicious flavours. Mexican and Japanese fusion that work very well.
Staff friendly, helpful and attentive. Guacamole was delicious full flavour. Antichucho octopus YUMMY.
Nice little hidden gem and good value. Will be back again.

I haven't tried the food here yet but the ambience is superb. I'm definitely going back to try the full experience.

Just finished up a great meal and cocktails at this place and had to leave a review as it was so good!
I am a fussy eater at the best of times but tonight I went outside my comfort zone and I loved everything I’ve ate a few types of tacos and loved everyone of them.
Great vibe in the restaurant and all the staff had been so nice and welcoming. Can’t wait to come to back again real soon :)
Thanasis the waiter ( I think I spelt it right ) had been excellent serving us.

A restaurant serving fusion food from my two favourite cuisines (Japanese and Mexican)? Absolutely yes! Super tasty food and great service. Also loved the atmosphere! Difficult to pick a favourite dish, but the salmon tiradito and miso black cod on lettuce get the top score.
S. D.
Food is great! Definitely not the usual (sometimes boring) tacos, fish especially stands out for its great quality. Good cocktails and a wide selections of Tequila/Mezcal. Very friendly and attentive service, nice lively atmosphere. The Mexican themed paintings are really cool.

Very good food and very good service!

I rarely write reviews but feel I need to recommend this incredible restaurant.
Do yourself a favor and visit the best mexican/Japanese restaurant in London!
The service is unmatched. Los Mochis truly cares about your experience.
The food is AMAZING. Absolutely the best Mexican meal I’ve had in a while. I Highly recommend trying the cod and octopus tacos.
FYI I am Mexican!

The food in this restaurant is outstanding. The whole concept just aligns so well in challenging your taste buds to a level where you day dream about the food here. The vibe of the restaurant also ads up to it. The staff is super lovely, making sure all is delivered well in time along with impeccable service. Overall, an amazing experience, a must visit if you into Japanese and Mexican food. I have already planned my second visit here , going to make sure I go here empty stomach.

No need to go to Berkeley Square anymore. Food, drinks and atmosphere is like bringing Mayfair to Notting Hill. Hottest place in west London.

Excellent food. Really knowledgable and friendly staff. Like the cocktails.

We visited for an early Saturday dinner, and the place was quite busy. I somehow had the impression this would be a casual, neighbourhood spot, but it was actually a bit trendy, with some quirky décor. The menu is a fusion of Mexican and Japanese, most of it being served in taco format – there were probably 20 different tacos to choose from. The two of us tried quite a few of these (trailer park chicken, black cod, carne asada, lobster, prawn) as well as a few other items such as the shrimp tempura, seabass ceviche and the spicy salmon roll. The food was quite good in general, although some items were better than others. We tried the chocolate fondant and tiramisu desserts, but these were pretty average. They do have a kids menu as well, which includes a small selection of tacos. One thing to note is that the tacos do come as very small portions, we got through the 5 portions we ordered easily, and probably would have ordered a couple more, but they do come on these large serving boards which take up half the table, meaning they can only serve one round at a time, which does draw out the pace of the meal.
Service was very friendly and reasonably efficient, although we had the occasional short delay between dishes. The bill came to just over £200, of which £45 was spent on drinks. It did feel a bit steep for a largely taco based meal. Overall, it’s an interesting new venue, something a bit different, and probably worth a visit, even though there were a couple of things that could have been improved.

Although the food was good, the welcome, service and lack of concern for guest safety really spoilt our evening at Los Mochis.
We arrived for our table for 2 that we had booked at 6pm. We were greeted and shown to a table which was in between two tables, one of which was already occupied. Our table was so close to the next one, that we would have been literally brushing arms with the person next to us. It isn't pleasant to be this crowded in normal times but during a pandemic when we're asked to distance from strangers as much as possible I didn't think this was appropriate or safe. I explained to the waitress that I thought this was too close to the table next to us. She pointed us to a stand alone table but said if we had this table we would have to give it back at 7pm, in 55 minutes time. Shocked, I questioned this and she quickly looked at her iPad and said we could have the table as normal. This wasn't the nicest start to the evening and made us pretty unnerved at how lax their covid safety was. Later on in the evening when we requested the dessert menu, I was handed one with bits of food stuck to it. Again, in normal times this isn't acceptable but during a pandemic, when menus are supposed to be cleaned or disposed after guests have used them, to be given one that had clearly been used by someone else was really quite awful.
The food was very nice, an unusual fusion but it worked well. Portions are small and you do have to order quite a lot so do expect a large bill! Sadly all the above really marred our impression of Los Mochis which was a shame, but for the prices I would expect much service and much better safety protocols.

We had an amazing team lunch at Los Mochis. The food was unique and delicious. My favourite was the Ceviche. The staff were excellent and catered to our every need. 100% recommend - you won't regret it.
R. W.
Really good vegan options minus the jackfruit tacos which were average. My friend got the trailer park chicken tacos and she said they were average too. The guacamole, falafel, vegan tempura sushi were amazing. Drinks were strong and staff were nice.
A. M.
Excellent food and drinks in a fantastic atmosphere. Love the imaginative menu - very unique, even for London - and every dish is a winner! The staff are second to none - super friendly and attentive.
C. P.
Wow! What a great addition! Japanese and Mexican fusion - you wouldn’t think they’d go together - but ohhh they so do! Their black miso cod is I believe better than Nobu’s. The range of dishes that elicited yums and eyebrow raises - the sea bass ceviche, the cawliflower taco, the king crab taco, the California roll! No complaints here!! With a great ambiance - awesome artwork and love staff - gluten and nut free to boot!! What’s not to love?!?
S. B.
Lovely little place in notting hill, good vibes and nice menu. I found the food very tasty, staff friendly but a bit pricey and portions small
J. S.
Top cocktails well made by friendly barmen. Sadly when we made a second visit frint of house was a bit of a snooty lady and we were told they were 'fully booked' despite us only wanting to have drinks at the bar.
J. M.
What a great new restaurant. Haven't seen a Mexi-japanese fusion before or tasted it but now I have I'll be wanted more and definitely be back to Los Mochis for this. Wonderful staff, food and setting with fabulous artwork and restaurant design. The cocktails were amazing too, I'm trying here to think of something critical to balance my praise but I can't because there isn't anything, all this a stones through from Notting Hill Gate so even the location is fab.

The food at Los Mochis is absolutely amazing. The service was top notch. I will be returning!!! Everything on the menu is delicious and the cocktails were superb and if there is a cocktail you fancy not on the menu, they will always whip it up for you
J. L.
It's London so not cheap, £300 for five of us. But the food and cocktails were really nice, particularly liked the octopus. Definitely worth a visit!
S. S.
Cocktails were great.. Food was nice but pricey. We felt rushed and service was bit all over you.. downstairs seating is cramped, with no room for staff at times to move around without bumping into ur table or going over you..
A. E.
Was pretty good food. Service was a bit off though. We were essentially told to leave our table, were often ignored at our table. Not sure if it was just a one off but something to be worked on!
E. M.
The most delicious food, awesome atmosphere and amazing staff, who couldn't be more friendly and helpful. Tacos are the best in London for sure! Can't wait to take all my friends.
S. H.
Great vibes- both indoors and out. While the venue claims to be Japanese/Mexican, I wouldn’t say it’s a fusion restaurant. You can eat sushi and tacos and be happy. The trailer park chicken tacos have been my favorite thus far!
D. E.
I have dined at Los Mochis twice now. Both times I was blown away by the food. The service is also impeccable. My favourite dish was the octopus tacos.

Outstanding cocktails, service and food. The best of Mexico and Japan in one slick friendly restaurant.
D. B.
Lovely little resturant, sadly very overpriced for what it is, sushi was nice, but would expect 3 tacos for £16.00 not 2
D. A.
