Reviews of Lowlander Grand Cafe
A. G. J. (.
Super cosy and characterful Belgian cafe/bar in the heart of the west end.
The friendly staff were super helpful with advice on the beers, the food was tasty and good portions.
Great value for dinner - two courses and two beers came in under £30 per head.
We will definitely be back. This is a superb find.
A. K.
Visited Lowlander by accident. Saw the place near the theatre and decided to have a little snack before the show. We had some delicious Belgian croquets and BEER. The best selection I have seen so far! I am a huge fan of Belgian beer and the collection was mind blowing. The interior strongly resembles the traditional Belgian pubs and the vibe is really relaxing and unique. The place was really busy but the service was absolutely great and they managed to squeeze us in. Staff was super friendly and our waiters Ed and Rich were so funny! Price of beer was excellent even though they were super strong. We even came back after the show, had the best mussels and stayed until closing. One of the best nights of my life. Def coming back again.
V. R.
Huuuge choice of all kind of beers. Even for me (not a beer lover), I could find the one I liked a lot from a diverse choice of fruity tastes. Would recommend this place to any beer lover!
N. P.
Great old institution. Massive beer menu. Food a little below par I.e. my chicken wings were not great. Mussels are fine. Atmosphere just a bit lacking too I found but hopefully this will improve as we approach summer. For Belgian beer it's still one of the best bars in London.
Service was decent too.
G. D.
Great selection of beers. I have some friends who normally don't like beer recommend the fruit beers. The food is very good and the atmosphere is friendly. The only downside is there should be more seating, would be good especially around Christmas. Staff have always been helpful and do great recommendations on the beer.
D. P.
Celebrated Burns Night here with a 5 course supper washed down with superb Scottish beers. Great feel and atmosphere to the cafe and very welcoming staff. Looking forward to trying more Belgian beers!
E. B.
Great selection of beer, i mean a massive selection of beer! Great help with getting exactly what you want and love the tasters as well. The food was amazing as well.
S.
Fantastic place! If you love Belgian beer and a warm welcome then this place is a must. The bar staff are very knowledgeable and make good recommendations according to your palate.
M. W.
Such a good bar with soo many delicious beers and the food portions are huge. Really tasty menu. You need to book to get a table at weekends. Go for the beer paddles. Taste them all.
A. I.
Great 300 varieties of beer, and more than 5 types of mussels by Belgian style. Just horrible.
S. E.
Good collection of beers and loved the indoor decor! We had a fruit flavoured and wheat beer, and both were quite good. A bit on the expensive side although.
S. K.
Went for a beer-tasting, which was a great experience. Staff curated a selection of 6 beers, giving us some history around each and pairing them with some small snacks too. Great chance to learn and try the broad spectrum of Belgian beers available. Would thoroughly recommend to all
L. E.
Great evening in Lowlander. while all the other pubs, bars and restaurants in the area were closed or serving a handfull of customers, Lowlander was juggling to fit people in and they did. Great atmosphere, super knowledgeable staff and same attention given to everyone. Above and beyond, great night, thanks to all the staff and management.
M. J.
If you like Belgian Cuisine, this is the place for you. A great selection of Belgian Beers and the food is good too.
C. A.
A fantastic range of beers, I especially loved the Hercule Stout. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The chicken schnitzel was good. A great place for a quick meal and beer before the theatre.
N. S.
Nice, friendly, casual atmosphere. Decent Belgian beers on tap - Dovetail probably has the edge with a wider variety. Good food options. Dessert wasn't as impressive here - Belgian waffle.
K. K.
A busy Belgium bar which is definitely worth visiting if you enjoy trying out different beers and love eating mussels.
Overall, it was tad noisy but the servers were all really friendly and helpful. Despite being busy, they will take time to tell you about the beers, which they pride in. The mussels were really fresh, tasty and beautifully cooked. Will definitely be going back again.
Highly recommended to book before hand! They do get quite packed. :3
M. C.
Absolutely great pub! For me this is what pubs is all about great food, great music & great drinks. They have massive selection of beer from draft and bottles. Plenty fruity beers and flavored drinks and absolutely great range of Belgium beers. Will definitely come back!
m. l.
If you're in London near Covent Garden or even Charing cross you need to head to Lowlander, it's a Belgian beer emporium or bar if you like. I'm not saying there's millions of beers but there's over 100, they all have beautiful unique flavours, like the staff. Please don't ask how I know. It's got food too food food, vegan options & chocolate waffle desserts. It's like a grown-up playground. You have to walk in the door & smell the ambiance, don't cry with joy straight away order a beer first. It's one of the best places in London. You know you want to
K. G.
Our favourite place in London. Amazing selection of Belgian beers, great food (the waffles are incredible), great vibe & friendly staff :)
Z. R.
I first set foot in Lowlander in 2018. I was new to London, and it was literally my first day in the city on a study abroad program. I went to Lowlander for lunch as per a newly met friend’s recommendation. And the staff there (Rich was the first person I met) was so welcoming. It was disorienting moving from the US to the UK for my studies, but setting foot into Lowlander helped me find a new place that I could frequently go to and feel welcomed.
Now, I’m not studying, and I don’t live a 10 minute walk from Lowlander, but I go in every time that I’m in the Covent Garden area - my girlfriend and I absolutely love the place! I went in just last week for lunch with a friend. It was amazing as always!
They recently changed/updated their menus, and I tried the Chipotle and Lemon Moules - it was DELISH! I also enjoyed half pints of Delirium and Troubadour Magma, and finished the meal with the Chocoholic Waffle. It was a feast fit for a king. My friend also found his new favorite beer! He is hooked on Magma!
The staff is always so kind, and that’s one of the reasons this place always stands out. I always recommend Lowlander, and I will continue to do so as long as I’m in London.
S. J.
Great vibe in a lovely sun-filled room. Friendly service from a team that know their stuff. Becoming something of a regular haunt when we’re in the west end. Highly recommend stopping in for a pint and the mussels.
K. S.
Amazing range of Belgian beer. They serve bitterballen! A wonderful magical place.
T. H.
Absolutely incredible selection of Belgian beers! A grand building with fabulous architecture. The service was great and definitely one of the best we have experienced in London! A must visit
T. H.
Wonderful place to have a pre-show dinner. Great food, especially if one of you fancies mussels or a nice Belgian waffle, friendly atmosphere and a solid Belgian beer selection.
M. H.
Really good selection of beers and the food was tasty. The sausage platter was really good and the mustard that came with it packed a punch.
t.
Meal is in generous portion with reasonable price. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Good vibe. Would recommend
P. S.
Visit this place every time I come to London, love it. Great atmosphere n even better beers. Treat yourself...
P. S.
Belgian place, would say more like a pub than a restaurant, they have a million types of beer, and a few wines. The food is decent, and the people working there are friendly.
What I did not like at all was the smell inside, I can’t even describe it, some sort of mix between beer and fried fish.
You do get used to it after a while...but surely something can be done about it?
N. M.
THE place to go for great beer and food in Covent Garden - fantastic range of Beers [not just from Belgium!] and a constantly changing Food Menu. There is always a buzz in this place and it has many 'regulars' - whenever I'm in town I always pop in!
A. N.
Fantastic selection of beers and the staff genuinely couldn't be more helpful. We picked a few beers that may not be to the taste of everyone and our servers checked with us first that we knew what we were ordering but not in a snobby way, just making sure we had the best possible experience. Great staff is absolutely what makes a bar worth revisiting and we'll definitely be coming back here on our next trip to London, we only wish we had found it sooner.
G. L.
I've discovered this place a few months ago. I absolutely love it - they have a huge range of beers, and there's literally a choice for everyone!
Nonetheless, the environment is super friendly, and the staff is incredibly polite and very helpful. They don't rush you when you're ordering, even if the place is full. Rather, they make sure you have the best experience.
They are always smiling, and they make you feel like 'let's go there again' as they are able to create a very nice atmosphere!
I absolutely recommend it, great environment, amazing food and honestly you won't find better beers anywhere else in this area!
Go and enjoy it ;)
J. d. F.
Impeccable service. The first waiter to greet us wondered if the table they had at the moment wasn't too noisy (it wasn't). The other brought us the wrong beer at first, but was quick to acknowledge the mistake and offer to bring the one we had originally ordered at no extra cost. We were happy to stay with the one he brought, as we were going to try it eventually anyway - it was delicious. And the third was very kind in suggesting her favourite beers and snacks. Will definitely be coming back
j. m.
I come to the Lowlander Grand Cafe each trip to London. The food, service and beer are fabulous.
C. R.
Great place to visit, staff very friendly. Lovely selection of Belgium beers
L. M.
Apart from the unreasonably high prices for a pub, everything was good (not amazing but solid) enough: food, service, atmosphere. Would visit again but not too often.
H. S.
Brilliant selection of beers & great food; a little piece of Belgium in Britain.
Highly recommended & I'd advise that you book ahead to make sure you reserve your table.
S. K.
Loved the atmosphere. The menu was delicious. The beers served with the custom brewery chalice add a classy touch for beer lovers.
A. C.
The best Belgian beer pub in London. Fantastic selection, and fab food too. The staff are so helpful and kind. Highly recommended to come here if you're ever in the area!
M. P.
Amazing experience at lowland grand cafe, the star were incredibly helpful and accommodating and really helped ensure our Christmas do was perfect. Thank you!! We will definitely be back!
J. T.
Fabulous Belgian beers and really great service; helped us to make a decision when we weren't sure what to have due to the large selection. Can't wait to return and have food next time to compliment the beer.
J. H.
Have been coming here for years. The staff are excellent, the food delicious, and the beer simply amazing. If you are a fan of the very best Belgium has to offer in the way of beer this place is a must. And if you are new to Belgium beer, please broaden your horizons and give this place a try.
G. C.
Great beer, great service. Waiter found us a table even though we had not booked on a busy Saturday afternoon.
Been meaning to come here for a while, will definitely come back!
g. r.
Really nice place to eat and has an incredible selection of beers friendly staff would strongly recommend.
S. B.
Excellent beers and service. Richard and his crew run an excellent venue.
Made to feel really welcome here.
I had the Bratwurst and my girlfriend had the mussels, very nice.
Not my first time here and certainly won't be my last.
E. H.
Went here for my birthday last month. We had a table on the balcony and our waiter Jonty could not have been more helpful. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and helped to make it a special afternoon. As always, the Belgian beer selections were excellent, and the food was delicious. A great experience and we'll definitely be back 👍🏻
M. S.
Great discovery today. Lowlander is an amazing adventure in flavours. The selection of belgian ales is amazing (and most of them are not only tasty but also VERY alcoholic). Great food as well. Come if you want to taste something different and get drunk very quickly! ;)
m.
Great selection of Belgian beer. Really nice bar, and the staff are very friendly. I totally recommend it.
J. W.
Wonderful selection of beers, but £££++. Recommend booking a table. That said, I keep going back
C. N.
Good atmosphere and selection of beers. I visited this place many times and could make myself and guests relaxed always.
A. V. H.
I booked some tables to celebrate my birthday and I only can say thanks, the beer menu is epic as only a beligum pub can have, the staff... well the staff was epic, the coolest people on earth to serve you and your friends. thank you for an epic night! none of us is going to forget it!
G. K.
Excellent belgian cafe bar with a great selection of beers
J. J. W.
Went here for the first time last night to watch the first Belgium game in the EURO 2020 over a beer and a meal. We had a fantastic evening. Excellent selection of Belgian beers. You would struggle to find a pub in Belgium which has such a wide choice. Even more impressive, each beer is served in it own proprietary glass (you need to Belgian to understand why that's so important 😀). A good choice of well prepared pub food. The mussels and the stoofvlees (Belgian beef stew) are highly recommended. Friendly staff who engage with their customers and a fantastic atmosphere (admittedly the fact that Belgian won did help the latter 😀). A nice discovery. I will definitely return here.
D. R.
Love the Lowlander! Always a great night. Not cheap but for occasions it’s perfect. A huge selection of beers and very knowledgeable staff means all your tastes are catered for. On top of that they’ve got great food. We had muscles to start and steak frites and chicken as mains. Delicious. Recommend it highly.
D. E.
Great beers and Flemish stew. My only criticism would be the lack of 'correct' glasses for the beers. We had a great evening here in a great atmosphere.
I. G.
It was an unforgettable experience! I really recommend eat one of the sharable platters. They are delicious and you have tremendous varieties of Dutch and Belgian beers. Top-notch!
R. S.
Excellent Belgium cafe, great beer list and good food menu.
T. W.
Love this bar. Service always friendly and accommodating. Food really good and massive selection of beers! Highly recommended!
M. D.
Nice relaxed atmosphere.in this Belgium cafe. Perfect to sit and sample their huge selection of Beers! Food was good and service friendly.
O. L.
We had a great time at the Lowlander Grand Cafe, the food and drinks reminded us from home and the staff was great! We had our little dog with us and it was perfect. We will definetely come back! The moules marinieres were delicous, as well as the chocolat waffle 👌
J. H.
Rob, Jonty, and Azzi were absolutely fantastic. Food and beer were top notch (loved the mussels). Excellent advice from staff regarding beers. Seemed a bit short on staff. But staff that were on were fantastic though!
J. C.
A little bit of Belgium nestled at the edge of Covent Garden. A comprehensive range of Belgian beers, good food and helpful, friendly staff.
C. M.
We have just had a truly wonderful experience at this beautiful bar. The manager, Rob took the time to have a conversation with us and make us feel so welcome. We know without a shadow of doubt we’ll return here any time we’re in London. 10/10 customer service and gorgeous atmosphere. Thanks guys!
s. g.
Fantastic selection of beer. Huge selection. Guarantee you will find one you love. Prices can be a little steep for some but it is London and these are hard to come by beers. Good food menu. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Location is perfect. Highly recommend a visit.
D. L.
Fantastic place, the Cherry beer was amazing as was the goats cheese salad, very friendly helpful staff, will definitely return, very friendly lively atmosphere
S. V.
Great Belgian beer, I had Bruges Zot which they had on tap, they have a large range of blonde, dark and wheat beers on tap and bottled. The place is very atmospheric and feels as though you could be in Belgium. The staff were friendly and dressed in period clothing (although not sure which period), they have a big food menu, and for each dish they recommend a Belgian beer to go along with it, I had the Flemish stew (stoofvlees) which was very tasty. The prices are also reasonable. I wish I had discovered this place a long time ago, and I will definitely come again.
h.
Great selection of beers to try here. I went with a group of 6 people and we ordered a sharing plater for £32 I didn't think there was much food on the plate to really share we had to order two. Cool vibe and a nice place for groups to drink and laugh.
A. L.
Felt welcome as soon as I stepped through the door, had a amazing vegan burger (so so delicious!) Then served good quality beer with amazing service from a guy called Macguyver (can't spell?) At one point couldn't decide what to get and he suggested a beer, now one of my favourites! Thank you so much! The service was the fastest I've ever seen, as soon as our beers neared the end he was there! A friend suggested this place and we MUST come back! You must go here it's amazing!!!
D. A.
Fantastic bar, friendly staff, great atmosphere and a great range of Belgium beers, love it !
V. T.
Amazing range of drinks, tasty food and service was spot on for a busy night. Get your reservations in because they won't disappoint.
M. R. A.
Lovely beers vibe and staff. You can choose froma really big rage of beer list. I recommend you the flavored beers.
C. F.
Great selection of Belgian beers, very knowledgeable staff. Stoofvlees was a great food choice too.
R. D.
We feel they have the best sweet potato fries, they have other great food items on the menu! But in addition they have 99 flavours of beer, we have tried a few but love the Cherry Beer and a previously offered cocktail called Kriek Rocks. The staff are friendly and helpful we are regulars there😉
I. M. C. U.
Lovely place, 11/10 beers and food. Whenever I am in the area, I go to eat and drink at this place.
T. L.
Amazing Belgian restaurant tucked away in Covent Garden. It has Dutch beers, and delicious food. The staff are helpful and friendly. If you are a fan of mussels, you have to try theirs, each dish has a unique sauce to it and it just melts into your mouth. Truly scrumptious. The desserts, it's a must and a perfect way to end your meal.
M. L.
Love this place. Friendly staff, really good honest food and obviously, amazing beers
P. H.
Love this place. As usual, great selection of beers, and friendly knowledgeable staff.
D. A.
Everything you want a Belgian bar to be. Unrivalled selection of Belgian beer, probably top in the UK, friendly staff and nice relaxed atmosphere as found in Belgium. Food is a bit average but the beer is the star attraction.
E. W.
Lowlander is hands down one of my favourite bars in the UK. I was fortunate enough to be recommended to visit a few years back and haven't looked back since! Every trip to London always includes a Lowlander trip which is non-negotiable...many a wonderful afternoon has been spent sampling the biggest selection of Belgian beer. Oh, and the food is beautiful too...there's nothing better than a sharer platter to graze on whilst soaking up the awesome atmosphere.
This place is one of the only reasons I wish I lived in London!!
R. C.
Lovely service, manager/owner was friendly and even bought my father a drink for his birthday. Food was tasty and reasonably price. Great selection of beers and a pleasant atmospherem. Highly recommended if you like Belgium beers. I doubt another venue in London rivals this. Thank you for giving my father a happy 65th birthday
Z. G.
Loved the food here absolutely amazing and a really impressive range of beers (strong beers too) the ones we tried were very tasty! Recommend getting the mussels and sharing as a starter as the sauce they are in is delicious! They come with chips and bread to soak up the sauce (chips are very good too) defo come here for a meal and many bevs!
S. M.
Thank you for the exceptional kindness you and your staff showed to us - going out of your way to see if we could get replacement theatre tickets when the show we had travelled to see was cancelled!
Sorry we didn’t sample the extensive Belgium Beers you have this time - but thoroughly recommending the coffee! And there’s a return trip in the diary 😎
C. F.
Great place, fantastic service. Rob really cares about the beer and is just and absolute delight to be served by.

R. D.
Fantastic place for Belgian beer, with very knowledgeable staff!
C. T.
Nice food, fantastic choice of beers, friendly service, and a very nice space.
G. P.
The one place in London I will always come back to. Great atmosphere, staff, beer, food, service. Having spent well in excess of £1000 here I can comfortably call it my most visited bar in London
M. D.
Presently, one of the few Belgian bars still operating in central London. Been visiting here for years and enjoy the authentic vibe and great selection of beers on tap. Also, friendly staff and efficient service.
R. W.
I’ve been to Lowlander a couple of times over the last month with family and friends to watch Belgium’s games in EURO 2021. Every time we went was fantastic without failure! The beer list is very extensive, and you find many beers on draught that you would struggle to find in a pub in Belgium - it’s also nice to see that the beers they have on draught are frequently rotated. The food is great (I had the stoofvlees, but I know the mussels and burgers are good too), and I have never met a friendlier staff at a central London pub! A great atmosphere over all, one of my new favourites - I will be back (a lot!).
D. S.
Really great pub, with a very large variety of beer. Food was excellent. Service was quick.
M. M.
My new go to bar in London. Clean, good beer and a place that you can have a conversation without shouting.
L. B.
Brilliant Bar, and even better Belgian beers. Staff knows their beers which is very rare !! we will be back and highly recommend

Is a fantastic Belgium pub in London. Close to Holborn Station and covent gardens. Staff are fantastic, friendly and you are welcomed when you visit
M. E.
A delightful Belgian restaurant, by far the best in the country. Great selection of beer and an even better food menu to go with it.
T. S.
Nice place to sit and enjoy a drink with friends. The only thing I don’t like it does smell a bit like vinegar/acidity inside! Good customer service! Great beer selection!! Good Belgian beer selection as well!
E. C.
Great selection of Belgian beers, lovely staff & good food. Very welcoming atmosphere. I'll be getting to make a visit again soon!
A. O.
We've been here many times and never been disappointed. Extensive Belgian beer selection 👌😋 and an absolute killer of a bottomless brunch on the weekends. Highly recommended!!
G. W.
Best bar in London if you like your belguim beers and other quirky world beers, staff are very friendly and helpfull
J. W.
Real gem of a place. Lovely, helpful staff and a great selection of beers. The tasting paddles are well worth it as you can sample loads of quite hard to find in the UK beers. Also some of the best mussels I've eaten including those eaten while in Belgium. Highly recommended!
A. P.
Fantastic selection of draft and bottled Belgian beers. Very helpful staff. No pretentiousness in a high profile area of London.
M. B.
Great food and large selection of beers. Very friendly staff.
M.
Very good and nicely decorated space, our waitress was very attentive and nice and food was amazing for a very reasonably price. 10/10 experience! Would recomend.
N. H.
So I came to lowlander with a friend for bottomless brunch and let’s just say it was very bottomless! I got a tad too drunk and vomited quite a bit and felt very sick but the staff deserve a 100000/10. The waitress lended me her jacket while I was shaking, they gave me lots of water and even some sweet potato fries! I was very well looked after and I’m extremely grateful for the service! I will be visiting again but I will definitely pace myself! A great team, if you’re reading this thank you so so much!
A. B.
This is where the best selection of dark beers and stouts from the Benelux is served in London.
Pricy, delicious beer heavy on alcohol up to 12% are served but once in a while this where you impress a friend.
Service is good.
Food is good.
S. E.
Belgian beers and British made electric bikes. Love this place. We always stop here whenever passing Drury Lane.
C. T.
Really cosy place. Staff were friendly and a lot of fun. Nice selection beers and food. Nice place for a rainy day to find shelter.

One of my favorite places in London. The food is spectacular. The choice of beer is second to none and I have met some of the most helpful staff here.

B. E.
If you are a beer connesuier, then this place is for you. Great atmosphere, huge beer selection and great Belgium meals. I loved the mussels!

Class Belgian beers, quality Belgian double-fries, friendly service. Reservation system on their site is wonky, but worked and was excellent for our pre-theatre dinner.
A. H.
Huge selection of Belgian beer on tap and in bottles. The staff know what they are talking about so ask if you want a recommendation on what to try!
H. t.

Simply the best London pub for Belgian beer. Knowledgeable staff and tasty food. Always pay a visit when I'm in London.
J. R.
Delicious food and attentive, friendly service. Will definitely go again.
T. N.
Huge choice of beers and very knowledgeable staff. Ask about the secret cellar ;)
E. B. L.
Ok been going here on and off over the years but someone did something excellent. The menu has been revamped and it is good. I had a steak and my mate had a burger and both were excellent. Loving steak I know when I hit the jackpot. If the steak was one of the best I have had in a while then I can't wait to try other dishes. It's s great atmosphere and it's fun finding the beer you want.
Great for two people or large groups. Good service and great prices. Well done don't change anything it's perfect.
F. H.
Lovely Belgian restaurant and pub. The moules were really fresh and the house beer is awesome.
O. G.
A very enjoyable experience. There are so many beers to choose from, and you just have to pay attention to how strong they are! The menu breaks the selection up into different types of beers which is very helpful. They also have a "secret cellar" which you can ask about and they will bring a selection of unadvertised beers to your table - but they aren't overly cheap! Food is also good. Service is prompt and orders are best taken from your table.
K. M.
Great food served by polite, friendly and efficient staff. Loved it.
C. D.
Amazing selection of Belgian beers. Beers come in bottles, on tap, it’s brilliant. Staff is super friendly and gives good advises.
Great location and venue too.
A must do if you’re like me and missing strong and tasty beers from Belgium.
C. C.
Wow what a place to be in convent garden! The food and drink was fab and the staff were amazing!
R. M.
Best beers in London, so good to be back. Great team. Hilarious managers & delicious food. Book in advance!!!
K. S.
Attended lowlanders supper club what a great experience plenty of good food served with different beers for each course. The staff as always were excellent with quick and friendly service. This venue is well worth a visit
C. P.
Staff was super knowledgeable about the HUGE quantity of beers available, lots of Belgium triples and a must-order-again coconut beer, very happy with the tasting flight for the beers on tap, food was delicious and bathrooms were cool and very clean.
A.
Rich selection of Belgian beers and especially good service! We were sat on the bar on a very busy week night and still received personalised attention form the bartender eho was attentive and fantastic with his recommendations. Nibbles for sharing were delicious. Had a truly positive experience and amazing service.
J. M.
Extensive selection of Belgian beers in a pleasant bar. Always enjoy a visit here.
L.
Excellent selection of Belgian beers with friendly and helpful staff. Can be busy later on at night due to its popularity, but it's worth it if you can find a table. I haven't tried the food here yet, but the menu looks very nice!
G. B.
Thank you guy, 3 great nights with great food and of course beer...KASTEEL ROUGE especially 😋
R. F.
Love it here. Incredible range of Belgian beers. More or less every brand going and served in the legitimate glass. pricing is reasonable considering it's mostly imported. Decent selection on tap too. Small food menu for bar snacks. Table service was timely and friendly. Recommend.
O. K.
Their sausages are the most delicious I’ve eaten in my life!
M. M.
We were directed to lowlanders by a bartender at the Irish pub down the street. I had their lowlanders ale, delicious, and I really don't like beer. We ate Stoofvlees (Belgian beef stew) which was amazing. And ended with 2 Belgian waffles, also fabulous. The service was just lovely, too. Didn't really intend to go to a Belgian pub while I was in London, but so glad I did.
M. M.
A really cool place to visit close to Covent garden are. There's a vibrant casual non pretentious atmosphere inside. The interior is on two levels with a smallish are to drink outside. Absolutely massive beer selection of Belgian beers both on Keg and bottles. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Wine and cocktails too. Don't miss it.
R. C.
Great food, amazing collection of Belgian beers and fantastic staff, will definitely come back!
D. W.
A great selection of mainly Belgian beers on offer, however it's very expensive in here and if you're just after a drink there's better and more affordable options nearby. I only had dessert here and it was fine, but again very pricey.
T. K.
Food was very nice and the Belgium beer was delicious
A. S.
You've gotta love Lowlander! A nice-looking Belgian beer menu; a lovely range of Belgian dishes that regularly change; and chilled/friendly waiters. True, it can get a bit noisy in there, it is a mid-priced venue and they don't take bookings for the most popular times, but that sure won't be deterring me to go back! A nice little slice of Belgium in the midst of the West End and a regular haunt of mine.
P. T.
Good selection of European beers but a little pricey.
H. D.
Went after our show was cancelled. They serve food or just a drink if you prefer. Lovely staff.
C. W.
An excellent Belgian themed bar. Service is almost exclusively seated with waiters taking orders. The range of beers is excellent with a reasonable group of daft beers and a wide selection of bottled beers which change over time. The beers are usually Belgian in origin (or thereabouts) but some others do appear. The food is good with a strong Belgian theme.
The only downside to the place is cost. Some the beers are knocking on £10 a pint.
N. L.
Good range of Belgian beers nice stew (should be with Chinay in it)
P. :.
This is a nice bar/restaurant with a huge collection of beers. Food offerings are all very nice though perhaps slightly expensive for what they were. The fact they do bitterbollen won me over as I do love them with a beer! Drinks can be expensive though. I was taken aback when two beers came to £19 on the bill though I suppose that was my own fault for just asking for whatever the waiter recommended rather than picking something myself.
N. W.
Sooo.... post corona lockdown, hubby and I looking for somewhere to hang after our boujjie anniversary meal and low(lander) and behold.... lowlander is open and up and running and guess what.. This is the best place ever. Walked in and it’s like they read my mind. I told them what I’d had to eat and drink beforehand this eve and they in return recommended I ordered the sour cherry beer ‘kasteel rouge’. It was so correct that I ordered 6 bottles to take away. Delicious unusual beers. Mega attentive and friendly staff (who really care about your beer needs) and just generally a lovely vibe. Highly recommended!!
S. F.
Brilliant for a night out! Really recommend a visit
A. E.
Friendly service. Great beers. Waffle and ice cream is great and goes shockingly well with beer.
t. d.
Amazing food with a great selection for meat lovers and some delicious vegan options! I definitely recommend the jackfruit burger. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is more bar than restaurant with a lot of buzz and chat in the background. It's a busy spot so be sure to book your table in advance. Highly recommended!
J. G.
Good selection of Belgian beers/lagers/ales and spirits.
Nice location and staff very friendly and helpful and offering free tastings which was very nice.
There is quite a good range available ranging from fruit beers right up to strong dark beers which are around 12/13%
Quite pricey which is why I’ve knocked a star off, most draught options were a minimum of about £7 a pint and bottles around £6/7 too.
Didn’t eat here but food menu looked of a basic level.
K. N.
Nice place, the only things which could be improved is that beer is not always fresh
P. M.
Great place for Belgian beers (and others). Given the strength of these we usually like to have some of the Belgian foods (or burger) to slowly graze why we try. It can be a bit noisy when it's busy and it you do have to pay a little more for all the interesting beers.
N. A.
Great service and great beer! A bit pricey but well worth it for special occasions.
The staff all know their stuff too which really helps!
O. D. O.
It's lovely place with lovely staff. Food and coffee are tasty.
Fresh flowers cause you to smile.
I will definitely come back.
R. H.
Busy pre theatre restaurant but great service, food and very reasonable prices. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.......
S. V.
Fresh Duchesse De Bourgogne from draught ! Amazing!
t. s.
Great selection of drinks, interesting decor and friendly staff, not the cheapest place but definitely worth a visit
J. L.
I'm not a big beer fan but since my boyfriend's Belgian I enjoy trying the things he loves to do. Drinking beer is in his blood, and he actually bartended here before getting settled with his full-time job.
His love of this place influenced me. The atmosphere is warm and inviting and you can either sit and relax, or stand by the bar and be loud. I personally like the sit on the comfy chairs opposite the bar and get food... they have great mussels with butter sauce and a filling meat platter, which is great to share with friends. I always order the fruit beer but they are known to have a diverse selection of Belgian beer.
Sometimes it gets packed and rowdy but it's a cozy place to go in a group since the setting is very welcoming and the beer choices are limitless. The staff are also very nice... overall I always had a good time here.
C. K.
Nice Bar/Cafe/Restaurant with a huge selection of Beers and Ales. Nice inside and the staff are without a doubt the most knowledgeable I've ever had in somewhere like this. Ask for there recommendations. I'm a cider drinker and even I found a beer I liked. If you want food Saturday evening you'll need to book as it gets full.
Number 1 tip is ask the staff for suggestions and let then know what sort of drinks you like. Not cheap if not drinking beer though. Vodka and come was about £9 so beware for anyone who doesn't like beer.
J. B.
Even in Belgium the Westmalle Extra is hard to get. 5 stars without a doubt!
K. M.
LOVE this place, used to come when my partner and I were dating and keep returning now still.
Moules and frites and amazing and staff know thier stuff if you need a beer recommendation. Having been to Brussels, its the only bar I've found that has a huge selection like in the bars in Brussels!
R. L.
Absolutely love this place! I've been here twice now; every time I visit London, I come here for lunch and order one of the many Belgian beers. They have big and small lunches and the fries are really good. Very nice staff also, had a waitress who spoke Dutch one time. I will be back soon!
T. D.
A great selection of Belgian beers (best beers in the world!), nice ambiance, friendly staff, but food offering and the two dishes I tried were a bit disappointing and not what you’d really find in a brassiere in Brussels or Antwerp. But then, fish and chips in Mallorca probably taste different too...
T. P.
Great beer and great food at great prices.
H. S.
Great venue if you like your unusual beers. Lots of beautiful trappiste and others to try. Kesteel Rouge is a fantastic 8% cherry beer if you like things fruity. Food changes regularly and is very interesting - never had a bad meal in there. Some of the sour beers are a bit....peculiar.... but it's a hell of an experience working through the beer menu that's bigger than the food menu!
W. R. (.
The best Belgian beer selection in London. They have some decent food, but really only come here if you want to explore some more unusual beers that you can't find elsewhere. The pub isn't that large, and they have tried to fit in plenty of tables, so worth trying to book a table if you are a large group.
C. S.
Love the lowlands for its selection of beers. The price of the beers has increased over the past five years but it still retains a great selection. The food is good, it used to be great. Overall some of the recent changes have diminished the lowlander causing my rating to drop to 4/5 but its still a great place to meet friends and have a drink.
R. V.
Brilliant little find!
Great range of beers (don't be afraid to ask for half pints, some are very strong!). We didn't have food, but saw what others had and it looks awesome!
You can reserve tables / space.
Decor is like a Dutch brown cafe, and quite cosy, but makes for a great night!!
A. G.
Awesome selection of Belgian beer and delicious bitterballen
B. M.
After spending a few nights in Belgium we were eager to keep drinking Belgian beers, and this place delivers! They have an excellent selection and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The next time we find ourselves in London we will surely be back. Thanks for the glasses!
P. R.
Interesting place. Good beers. For some perhaps it might be a bit pricey. But personnel was very friendly and helpful. To be honest, I only had a drink, so I will need another visit to see if it is worth topping the score up...
N. B.
Absolutely love this place, great selection of belgian beer!
S. B.
Great choice of Belgian beers at the tppical London imported Prices. Can't beat the kreek on tap. Staff were friendly. Quite noisy and hard to hear when chatting but on the whole a good Belgian beer joint.
R. R.
Great beers at typical imported prices. Good atmosphere, came in for one drink and ended up staying all afternoon. Staff very helpful and attentive.
A. D.
Nice place. The fig and goat cheese salad was fantastic. Only complaint was that they didn’t seem super knowledgeable about gluten even though it said on the menu to request gluten free options. Couldn’t get a straight answer about the fries (at first they said that they had gluten, then saw the fries as part of the GF meal special on the board)
A. G.
Lots of great Belgian Beer on offer, but the food was mediocre.
M. F.
Been here a couple of times and like this bar which is close to Covent Garden. Very good selection of beers, with a large menu to pick from. Food is very good too with some nice choices. Table service is available and you are able to book out areas, which we did this time, having the top floor area over looking the bar for a party. Was a very good evening and a lively place to have some drinks.
B. W.
Very nice experience for belgian beer lovers. We didn't try food. We tried beers only. They are not cheap but worth to try. Very professional and frendly staff. We have been served by guy who really knows the belgian beer market and can advice if you not decided.
D. T.
Not been back here since year 2000 but they have maintained the same high standards. Great selection of beers and wonderful vibe. Didn't have any food this time round but the aromas floating out of the kitchen were very tempting!
s. j.
Just about as close to a trip to Belgium as you can get in London. Respectable selection of beers. Haven't tried the food yet...mainly been working my way through the bottles and taps.
Located on a nice street, which makes for great peoplewatching. Sadly, they only have one table outside, so consider yourself lucky if you get it! Staff has always been friendly and attentive. This is my go-to bar when in the area for a local rather famous bicycle manufacturer. :)
A. J.
The atmosphere was absolutely fantastic! Great vibe as well as great beer and food. My boyfriend and I shared the smoked salmon starter, and he's not a huge fan of smoked salmon but he decided to try it and almost took my half since he loved it so much! He said his burger was overwhelmingly delicious and the lowlander seafood gratin was immensely flavourful. Also, the Delirium Red was deadly good! I will definitely reccomend this place to everyone I know when they visit London!
S. B.
A regular drinking spot when in London. Both the food and drink are great. It's central location close to Covent Garden and on Drury Lane makes this a great location. Open from 9am the breakfasts are also first class and well worth trying to set you up for the day. Service is excellent also.
M. L.
Amazing beer menu!
E. L. J.
Great service! Ask Jonty for beer recommendations!!!!
R. A.
Great Belgian beer with friendly table service, toilets could have been in better condition.
G. M.
Amazing mussels! Good atmosphere, reasonable prices
G. R.
Great beer selection - they had my favourite Duchesse de Bourgogne! Unfortunately, the place is owned by a niteclub that pumps in awful music which ruins the ambience. It'd be a really great place if they had more suitable music and no TVs. ;)
A. K.
Excellent selection of beers (more than 100) and nice food. What else do you need? :) Try big taster set (6 different types of beer) - don't be shy to tell what types are you interested it - they can tailor taster set
M. W.
I stumbled upon this place by chance, and what a great discovery it was.
The choice of Belgian beer is just astounding, from the well-known ones to real gems. The food is also pretty good, with great snacks such as the Belgian croquetes.
This place is a bit on the expensive side of the scale, but definitely worth a visit if you like to chat over pints of delicious beer.
G. H.
I had a favourable recollection of the place but was disappointed on a recent trip. Still an excellent selection of bottled beers, but some of the ones on draught tasted off. The food was overpriced (perhaps better if we'd stuck to the mussels?) and the service slow.
D. M.
My wife and I have visited Lowlander several times on our three day trip to London. The main reasons being that the staff are very helpful and welcoming, I had the avocado and poached egg breakfast and it was probably the best I've had.
High quality bar which we would definitely recommend.
R. A.
Amazing selection of Belgium beers! Tasty food, good selection also. Cozy place, service is great too. Highly recommend!
P. K.
Came here for a pint before the theatre. Enormous selection of Belgian beers, both on tap and bottled. Did not like the fact seating only offered to the clients ordering full menu items. We hanged around the bar, had a beer and left thought seating was available.
A. S.
Amazing selection of quirky and tasty beers from all over the world (?). They book tables for large parties. Given the central location, it is an ideal place for arranging catch up with friends coming into London from different parts of the countries. My current favourite is the banana beer!
A. L.
Great selection of Belgium beers. Good hang out.
R. B.
Great bar/café. Fantastic beer selection, good recommendations from knowledgeable staff if you're not sure. Plenty of seating. Fast and friendly service. Given the beers on offer & the ABVs it can be a little pricey, but there's something for everyone.
P.
Outstanding selection of Belgian lovelies await your lips should you be lucky enough to get seated. This place is a table service cafe, and therefore it primary focus is unfortunately food. Evening bookings in advance are essential to avoid being turned away. If you're just looking for a drink, you're not really welcome to stand by the bar. Unless you're waiting for a table of course, So, once seated you'll feel guilted into buying food in order to justify your presence. They're coining it in here. Take your checkbook.
S. W.
I went to Lowlander Grand Cafe on a Wednesday evening with my friend. They were fully booked but we showed up and got a table.
I love that they have a wide selection of draft beers and the table service is great. The waitresses are attentive and efficient, but a 12.5% service charge fee will automatically be added to the bill.
The food we had was very plain and disappointing and the three star review is because of it.
The Lowlander is not a typical pub where you can just show up and move chairs around. The seating arrangement is very formal and there was no music so the place sounded like a train station.
T. M.
Usually great food and quality beer.. but the waiting staff lack a bit of personality, mono salabic. Enjoyed the staff 6 months ago..
G. H.
Brilliant food, drink and amazing customer service.
J. C. Z. E.
Mussels? Belgian beer? Good service? This is the place to go. This is the real deal, not Belgo.
R. M.
A belgian bar with a very extensive beer and Ales list. This is a great entry point into Belgian beers and the food is usually always a decent standard.
At weekends it's obviously busier but you can normally get a seat with a little patience.
I suggest trying a small taster stick of 1/3 rd pints so you can try a variety of the different types of beer available.
p. t.
If you love beer and I mean host beer not "fosters" then this a place you should try. They have a vast selection of beer and the staff have a good knowledge about all the beers they stock. When ever I'm in London this is a place I make sure i have at least one beer in.
H. “. E.
My favorite place in all of London.
When I ever I visit London this place has to be on the schedule or no point coming.
1. Great food - Delicious and portion size is excellent in my humble opionion.
2. Great location, heart of London in one of the nicest places to hangout in London
3. Great table service. None of this pay first have your drink and food none-sense.
4. Great vibe in the place all the time
J. D.
Loved the food, loved the beer, especially loved McGyver. Man knows his beer, give him a raise!
W. C.
Excellent beer selection and friendly staff. Food is a bit pricy for my taste but the beer and helpful staff keep it as one of my favorites.
EDIT: been back for the food and it's absolutely delicious
A. M.
Lovely quiet pub tucked away in the streets of Holborn. Very impressive selection of Belgian beers. What's particularly nice about it is that it seems to be fairly empty on most of the evening. It also has extremely high ceilings and is spacious and airy.
S. W.
Great beer place. Good range of Belgian beers. Make sure you bring your wallet though! Watch out for the place being busy on a Saturday, may need to book a table.
M. C.
My number one Belgian stop in London. The selection of beers on draught, in bottles and a special selection of reserve stock is truly stunning. The food is also excellent and the servers really know their stock well, and will recommend a selection that will blow your mind.
K. M.
The mussels are amazing send the surroundings are delightful. All this only bested by tiger staff who are so down to earth, professional and fabulous. Thanks again Dyer another great visit. See you soon
A. W.
Selection of beers is good. It's nothing special.
A. V.
One of the best beer experiences in London! Pure quality, taste wise! Trust me, I've got an over 500 beers collection from all around the world!
d.
Good location and atmosphere. Food was good but service a bit average.
Had to go to another table to get napkins, toilet no working hand drier.
Taking things for granted?
M. S.
American here- wanted a pub in London with beer over 5.5%. This place has a good beer selection with many options in the 8-11% range. Ok prices, friendly attentive staff
O. C.
Great selection of beers from Belgium with a lot of favourites I cannot get anywhere else! Food is also delicious and the menu has drink selections that complement the meal.
M.
Incredible selection of beers. If you like your Belgian beers, this is the place to come too. Mussels, atmosphere, service all 5 stars.
S. S.
This is probably my favorite pub in london, they have an amazing choice of beers, the food is very good (especially for England's standards), the environment is laid out, table service and super central position! Order ahead if you want a seat during the weekend!
S. F.
Vast selection of beers though some are quite pricey. Food was good too - met with universal approval from those partaking. Again a little on the pricey side but you'll be going well to avoid that in this area.
A. R.
One of my fav bars, great Belgian brews. Not much for standing space, so call ahead for a table. Laid back, awesome staff, decent food too.
E. G. C.
Table service and very helpful to ask people to move bags and coat or squidge up. Nice atmosphere the noise level wasnt too loud and a great selection of weird and wonderful drinks. Plus a few trusted favorites.
L. W.
Great selection of mostly Belgian beers, I have been going for years. Table service and the food is decent. Bring back the cheese snack please.
F. J.
Great Cafe in true Belgian fashion. It has the best selection of Belgian beers in London and also serves traditional Belgian snacks.
If this is your first time here, you should get a Kwak and some cheese on the side.
L. N.
Just popped in for a quick coffee and we were immediately greeted by a friendly barman. Loved the decor, comfortable and friendly place. Would definitely visit again.
B. D.
Great selection of Belgian beers, friendly service and great drinking food. Good all round, but expensive.
K. L.
Great selection of beers and the food is great as well. Definitely reccomend the croquettes as a side to a belly full of delicious beer.
Five stars
S. B. Ó.
Unbelievably wide selection range of the best beers with chilled vibes. They even have Delirium on tap! No beer appreciate should miss this place in London
M. T.
If your into high strength beers this is the place as all but a few of the drinks of which there are plenty to choose from are between 5% & 12% alc.vol. Thier is a good atmosphere, its clean and the staff are friendly
K. S.
A large variety of tap beers! Snacks and plates are also nice.
J. C.
A real treat with this little slice of Brussels here in London . Authentic flavours with the most awesome beer menu ever . Food is fabulous too and the Waffles 😆
R. D.
Great Belgian beer selection. OK food. Like a brown Belgian pub. Lively, busy, civilised, maybe a bit too busy at times. But the beer speaks for itself.
M. K.
Drinks are a little pricey but they are the real deal from Belgium. Great place for something a little different.
Will have to go back to try the food because it looked and smelled fantastic!
M. S.
Been there for new years eve dinner. Nice place, great selection of Belgian beers and food. A shame they didn't have any fish that night. I'll try again another time
K. O.
A go to place for me in London, especially if you like Belgian beer, largest selection that I have found in London. Casual place, decent food that if course is some what Belgian. But the main reason to go is for the beer. Is on a side street off of kingsway in Holburn area.
R. R.
Great choice of beers. Nice mussels however way to small a portion for £14. I expected at least double. Chips were really good. Nice and crispy
L. D.
Amazing selection of Belgian and guest beers....
B. G.
Great range of beers, it'd take you a while to work your way through them all! Always busy. Service has gone downhill a bit but that might be because there seemed less staff available.
J. F.
Amazing selection of Belgian beers
Nice atmosphere and great staff who bend over backwards to provide amazing service
Gets busy at times so plan your visit depending whether you want to just drunk or have food
I.
Great range of beers - generally served in the correct glass.Try the kwak of hendrick straff quad.Bit pricey. Table service.
J. P.
Came here for a drink the other night hoping for a good range of beers. One was not disappointed!! The Bar stretched the whole length of the room and was covered in faunts. They served a great range of beers. Thoroughly enjoyable as a change to a normal british pub. I intend to return with other friends
A. G.
Incredible beer selection, and the wait staff are very knowledgeable on it - we were expertly guided around the menu based on our tastes and preferences. Cannot wait to return.
Z. P.
Coconut beer, banana beer, cherry beer... oh my! My friend introduced me to this place and at first glance, it didn't seem like a very 'me' bar. But then she ordered up a beer stick – three 1/3 pints – of fruity beers and I was sold. Add that to that an indulgent melted camembert cheese (which the waitress kindly reheated for us when it went cold) with bread and cranberry jelly, and I was a convert!
A.
Finally loved a place. Been some time. Staff were great beer was great and the mulled wine lovely and massive portions. Covent garden was bliss today. Thanks to the lowlander staff for being so nice
L. D.
It had my favourite beer Delirium Nocturnum. That's all I cared about! The atmosphere was nice and even though we couldn't sit it was still cosy. The staff is friendly and I didn't wait too long to be served on the bar.
n. p.
This is genuinely a place to go and worship the beer gods. With a seemingly endless list of beer options on both bottle and draught and a great food menu I'd recommend to anyone who hasn't ever had banana or coconut beer or a beer that goes by the name of delerim tremens. Probably best to go here for a whole afternoon or some other kind of extended session.
P. H.
Fantastic place, great staff, amazing selection of Belgie beers
H. S.
Great selection of beers, food menu limited but tasty. Great venue for a bit of an after work session. Beware the 9% IPA!
F. M.
food was great, and beer selection is massive. small Belgium draft selection, but bottles of all kinds. the service though was exceptional. will be crowded on evenings and weekends
S. R.
Great tasty food and a wealth of knowledge on their beers. Highly recommend you book a table here. I will certainly be back.
R. A.
AMAZING beer selection! Not the cheapest place, but it's worth the money. The staff are knowledgeable and the service is good. The beers also come in unique glasses, which is a lot of fun.
D. L.
Good beer selection and decent food. Would recommend if you like a good variety of beers from the continent
z. j.
Excellent choice of unusual beers, friendly and hepful staff, great space. Somewehat noisy but surprisingly good food. Decent prices considering the location, a star lost because of disappointing desserts.
S. P. O. D.
We’ve been here and photographed a lots of clients here as a local photography company and we think that it’s a lovely place to chill with your friends and have a drink. Good beer selection. Highly recommend!
J. M.
For a Belgian beer experience in London there is no other place to go. With an extensive beer menu and friendly staff it's a great place albeit with steep London prices.
C. W.
Nice selection of Belgian beer. A bit crowded given the location and they charge for the service but still one of the best options in the covent garden area!
J. H.
If you like Belgium Beer this is the place in London for you. What a truly amazing selection of Belgium beers from Trappists and lambists to more regular beer types.
R. C.
You're in London and experiencing Belgian beer withdrawal symptoms, and you need a glass of Delirium Tremens with a pink elephant on the side. Or you're wondering what bitterballen are and you're in need of a new culinary experience (they are delicious little deep-fried balls with crispy breadcrumbs on the outside and a rich meaty ragout on the inside, a little taste of the Netherlands which brings tears to the eyes of the nostalgic Dutch boy). Or you fancy tasting half a dozen different Belgian beers while tucking into some excellent Belgian food and plotting your next trip on Eurostar to sit in the Delirium Cafe in Brussels, the Holy Shrine of Belgian beer. Lowlander has the best selection of Belgian beers in London. Highly recommended.
M. V.
Very nice pub/restaurant with a Belgian touch, serving quite a lot of Belgian beers. Nice spot for pre-theatre dinner, make sure to reserve a table in advance.
D. A.
Casual place with some dangerously strong Belgian beers. Moules and Frites are excellent but you don't get that many. Helpful and friendly staff.
M. F.
Fantastic food and massive selection of Belgium beer does get very busy so I would book in advance to get a seat I will be going back
V. C.
Alina was a lovely hostess. Many thanks for a wonderful evening
J. B.
One of the best Belgian beer selections in London. Staff know their stuff and are super friendly.
E. G.
An old, old favourite. Not the best food, but very consistent and the range of beers and genuine sense of Belgianness makes this a distinctive and fun place unlike most other pubs in the area.
N. R.
What an awesome find! Great food, amazing beer, and wine! Staff couldn't do enough, will definitely visit again....
A. R.
Great beer selection and nice that you can just pop in for a beer despite it seeming like a restaurant. Would like to go back and eat - the meat selection in particular looked very tempting.
I.
Good selection of beer and nice food. The staff are friendly and efficient.
K. M.
A cosy bar to sit down in and sample fruity Belgian beers. There are plenty tables which makes it pretty civilized but yet not as touristy as some of the convent Garden establishments. The only downside is the price which is surely making someone a healthy profit.
S. L.
Good food, good selection of belgian beers. Nothing super special but a nice pub to have a pre-going out meal and drink in Soho
V. M.
Wonderful staff. Great selection of beer. Well worth a visit.
A. B.
Love this place! Can get a fair bit busy but we have been going for years. Love the Belgian cherry beer. It's a must try.
R. F.
Fantastic selection of top quality Belgian beers served with great food. Very different to your average boozer!
P. R.
Great service, Richard is really knowledgble and he helped me out to find the perfect beer! Can't wait to get back!
A. M.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. The seating area upstairs was perfect for watching sports and we really enjoyed our meal. Excellent choice of food and drinks.
M. R.
Friendly bar staff and a great selection of beers.
A. M.
Busy and gets quite noisy but that creates a good atmosphere. Excellent selection of Belgian beers. Friendly staff.
V.
Truly great place! Great drinks selection and very friendly staff. Ed was just superb
P. M.
15 beers on tap - I counted while I still could - from low ABV session beers to seriously strong stuff - handle with care! Super friendly efficient table service too - and bar food. What's not to like.
R. P.
One of the best bars in Covent Garden with amazing selection of beers and great service. Don’t miss out and go check it out yourself

Great food and service at a competitive price in Covent Garden. What a huge selection of Beers, it's like being back in Belgium
M. B.
Situated in Covent garden is a nice place if you want to have a classic Fried Chunk of Chicken! Good beer selection and beautiful environment. Definitely a go!

Booked a table and glad we did. Packed but great evening with great choice of beers. Carolous special edition was a excellent choice.

I come here all the time and have been coming back for about a year now. Great beers!!
Dont come for food though it's not the best experience
A. K.
8 pounds for a pint is steep and fish and chips were pretty average
D. T.
Good location staff very efficient and full Covid measures in place. Sandwich menu good beers a tad pricey!
C. M.
Belgian style pub with a huge selection of beers. They do good food here too and the menu has a beer recommendation and a wine recommendation to go with each dish.
C. D.
A trendy bar/cafe in the heart of London. Service with a smile, good food and nothing was too much - we ordered cheeseburger by mistake (allergy problem) and they replaced it.
It was my daughter's birthday and when we mentioned it they brought her treat to blow out.
E. M.
Awesome food, polite staff and great beer. Walked in at 10pm and food was still available. Ambience was conducive too if you compare with usual English pub.
C. L.
Good pub, good choice of beers.
R. J.
Good selection of Belgian beers and themed menu. Can get quite busy. Better to book if in a large group.
J. V.
This is a great place to sample different kinds of Belgian beer. Waitress was very accommodating and was on spot in her suggestions.
D. S.
Absolutely love this place. Probably my favourite in London. The staff are fantastic and build great relationships with you everytime you return to the point they remember your order. Cannot recommend this place enough and I urge you all to try it.
S. P.
Vast array of beers makes you feel like you are in a sweet shop the service was spot on
l.
Great selection of Belgium beers with different flavours and graduations. Can't compare to craft beer though. Bit pricey.
T. D.
Friendly 'Cafe' in Drury Lane with lots of space. Specialises in Belgian beers, of which a dozen or so are on draught; also pages of bottled beers. Excellent food to go with the beer too: try the moules frites with the wit for example, or go for appropriate snacks such as croquettes. Good breakfast menu too.
T. S.
Great place with very friendly staff and great food and beer! Highly recommend
P. K.
Good selection of beers albeit quite pricey. Very pleasant staff and convivial atmosphere but decor needs refreshing.
K. H.

Best stoofvlees putside of Belgium! Would definitely come here if I needed my fix of stoofvlees!
Beer selection is good also although pricey!
M. J.
Always a good selection of Continental beers including specials. Table service only, so no scrum at the bar. Always attentive and usually knowledgeable too.
L. R.
I loved this bar as it took me back to my trip to Bruge and sampling all the Belgian beers! In a beer infused confusion I tried a cocunut beer-not advisable! Great place...

A. W.
Simply the best Belgian bar in England, great selection of beer and lovely food and all in authentic surroundings. Love it
n.
Nice place, but the staff were not at all attentive despite the service model. No drinks or service offered during a one hour visit with food but staff standing around chatting.
V. M.
Massive selection of Belgian lagers and ales. One of the few places you can get Westmalle or Delirium on draft. A bit pricy however
J. P.
Great selection of craft ales. I had the moules with chorizo served with bread and fries which were great. Watch out for the service charge.
H. J.
About 3 million different beers to choose from. Loved this bar and the food is good too.
K. M.
Food very good. Took two attempts to get extra bread and was then charged £6 for it. Music so loud it interferes with conversation.

Great selection of Belgian beers with bistro menu. N.B. most of the beers are much stronger than what you may be used to.
R. H.
The service here is ok but incredibly slow, don't go here if you're starving or in a rush. Otherwise it's a great bar, vibrant and busy. The food is quite nice too...when it arrives.
A. K.

Bear in mind it closes pretty early, they'll stop accepting newcomers at 10:30 and close up shop at 11 latest.
