Amazing food! Firstly the customer service was so wonderful and helpful making the experience that much nicer. I’d definitely recommend this place, it is a family friendly diner (also have high chairs), with amazing juicy sticky wings, great cheese balls and onion rings. The Burger was fantastic, I ordered the super Sahara burger, it was different and really nice, they had fried cabbage inside which really impressed my tastebuds. Steak was cooked to perfection and the sauces were really nice. Mocktails were definitely worth it, very tasty. This restaurant is Cash Only, but there is a cash point down the road.

Only thing that may tarnish Mak Grillz business ethic is not accepting card payments but being only cash. It only didn't get 5* is because it was cash only and it didn't say it anywhere cash only and inside was bit dark. I though they were closed so I had to call to double check. We got two smash burgers and dirty fries for takeaway. I'm surprised as it was quite late and normally food quality can drop later in the evening generally, but the food is excellent! The staff were welcoming and lovely the second we walked in. They were not short short staffed and I will definitely be happy to recommend you guys in the future - thanks for a lovely meal.

Great burger place in East London. The meat is superb quality. They use 28 dry aged angus in their patties and the taste difference from most other burger places is remarkable. They Mak Fries with pulled beef are a delicious side. The only reason why I can't give it a five star rating is because of their inconvenient cash only policy. This is a real hassle for those of us who don't carry cash. There really needs to be a card payment option in this day and age, there's no excuse for it. Apart from that, highly recommended!

I can not recommend this place enough! Customer service was 11/10. I’m a very picky eater and asked for several items to be removed from my food. Most places are lazy and don’t pay attention but not here. Considering how busy it was also made it even more impressive. Food was overall perfect. Not a single complaint on any items we ordered!!

Let's get straight to the point : The wings tasted old and was dry. So deducted one star. The Mak fries was beautiful. Great amounts of meat and chips which could have been epic if the fries were crisper. The Burger was the standout by a long shot. Juicy and succulent burger nestled in a fresh brioche bun which was melting in my mouth with every bite. Definitely the stand out and the good reason to visit this place. I had to deduct one more star because these guys dont accept card payments... didnt bother them whether its covid or no covid but these lot want still want to evade corporation tax by telling customers to pay by cash. So in this day and age when people use card more than cash, you have to prepare to take your butt to the cash point and work out the respective money to take out before heading to the restaurant. That's a negative customer experience before even entering the store. Why doesn't owners think about customers for a change?

If your looking for aesthetics - this is probably not the places but if you looking for GREAT food for an affordable price this definitely is the one. Super cute place with nice booths. The food is AMAZING especially the MakSpecial fries. Portion sizes are VERY good. To be honest I get full from the loaded fries alone. Food does not take too long to arrive and the staff are very nice and friendly. Only downside is the decor needs updating perhaps but the food more than makes up for it. Has become one of my go to recommendations.

Hefty price and even with that hefty price it doesn't come with sides or drinks otherwise food was good, they should really consider giving complimentary sides or free starts since they want to be a restaurant. Non of that exists except what you order. It's a shame such a good place decent food not enough customers due to there pricing.

Love this menu and the way the decor has been set up to recreate some child hood programs, menus are on point service was faultless on each visit, the owner is very courteous and accommodating a real burger experience in AWSOMESTOW, check their Instagram page before your ordering as you will be blown away by the burgers! Mak Grill based in Walthamstow Hoe Street. The restaurant is in a good location there plenty of parking after 7 p.m. before that might there be an issue. Surprisingly the food was actually really good the piri-piri rings were amazing nachos with the pulled beef was are really good as for the mains the burger was a little bit dry but the loaded chips OMG !! The thing that lets this restaurant down is the customer services I'm not sure if there was a lack of staff on the day I went in but the service was really slow had to ask and wait for cutlery and tissues. The prices were reasonable ended up paying £18 for a starter and main. Definitely a must go for the wings and the Mak loaded chips.

Heard a lot about this place went with a couple of friends in tue evening. The place was empty when we arrived ordered our food with a very helpful waitress. The decor of the place is quite nice but lacked a bit of ambience. Ordered assortment of different flavoured wings for starters and the only Angus meat burger on the menu. It was presented very well and tasted the wings were just above par nothing special.

Unfortunately there was only seeded brioche buns on offer, which means if you have any allergies I would not recommend you go. The burgers are clearly the mains specialty which I would recommend as my husband absolutely enjoyed his eifel tower burger. However I feel as if the rest of the menu needs working on. The mac special chips which included pull beef was something I ordered however I do feel as if they're slightly overrated. The wings were also very strong in flavouring and nothing too special. Overall the customer service was excellent and very friendly including the setting of the restaurant.

I had the *canary wharf burger* and my friend had the *BBQ Chicken burger* and wow they where both so tasty and very filling. I also go side of *french fries* and a *strawberry Daiquiry* so refreshing on a hot sunny day. The staff was very hiking and helpful. They give a really good vibe. One thing is I was ready to pay with card but I never knew that take 'CASH ONLY' so I had to go to the atm tho some was not even working so have to walk alot to actuallyfine one that works. It would have need better if there was a visible sign letting the customers know or staff to tell customers before they are given the food. Definitely coming back again for sure though. :)

I've been meaning to visit Mak Grillz for a while now, then the opportunity presented itself and I grabbed it. Parking is available only on the residential side streets, it can be difficult sometimes to find parking on a weekend. On the Good Friday at around 9PM that I visited, the restaurant was not that busy. Swifty met by staff and sat down at one of the booths. After being handed clipboard menus 📋 I read through the whole menu and settled for the Canary Wharf burger with french fries. My Nephew ordered the Empire State burger with Mak Fries. The restaurant was nice and clean. I'm not sure what to say about the decor, I suppose it was okay, but if it was to represent an American diner, the menu did not help carry that style. A short while after our food arrived and it just looked absolutely delightful, plenty of pulled beef just oozing juices. I was envious that I didn't go for the Mak fries which were topped with pulled beef, cheddar cheese and two types of sauces. I didn't go for them because I was already having pulled beef in my burger. I must say though, the Mak fries were out of this world. It just works! The flavours were fantastic and just kept me wanting more and more. The Empire State burger looked great, but my burger, the Canary Wharf was delectable in every single way I could imagine. A second bite, then a third and fourth confirmed that this burger was up there amongst the top three best burgers I have ever tasted. Ever! The prices were very reasonable too. So the questions are: would I come here again and more importantly, would I recommend. The answer to both are yes. You would be doing yourself an injustice should you not visit this restaurant. Highly recommended!

I was somewhat skeptical at first of MAK Grillz. The place was not so busy when me and my wife walked in at around 8:45 pm this Sunday evening. I ordered 6 buffalo wings, half chicken with chips whilst my wife ordered the Chicken Eifel Tower burger with Maks fries. We had our buffalo wings served within 15 minutes which came in good time. We waited an awfully long time for our mains. We waited atleast another 20 minutes considering it wasn't so busy. The food arrived, I noticed I did not get two breast pieces of chicken as requested which the waiter had agreed to. I mentioned this to another waiter who agreed to have it corrected, but I really didnt fancy waiting another 20 minutes for a breast piece so I settled with what I was given. I did over hear the waiters talking to another customer that their grill had broken down maybe that was the reason the food was taking longer to be served. The food tasted great, the buffalo wings were on point, the chips were not soggy and tasted fresh, they were not re-using old oil in the fryer which was a good sign. My missus finished her burger before I could tuck into my food and the meat on the Maks fries were lovely, very different from the so called 'muddy fries' sold at other places. My chicken came 'hot' literally hot on the plate and in the mouth just the way I like it. I was informed it was Brazilian flavoured spices! They don't accept card which meant I had to leave the resturant for the nearest cash point and pull out some money which was thankfully just across the road. Although we had a bad start which i thought was going to be a 2 star review the taste of the food pulled it through for me. Overall 4/5 for Mak Grillz, would recommend it.

Small place but fantastic food. Loved the burger and the some of the most delicious desserts in Walthamstow and sorrounding areas. The steak was nice but I would have liked a bigger portion of the meat. The service was excellent and the staff members are very friendly and attentive. I would definitely recommend it everyone. If you are looking for good quality food Mak Grill is a very good place to eat, the burgers are very good and the Mak fries are a hit. I have taken family and friends on a few occasions and everyone has enjoyed it. I have ordered via uber eats to my home address and food has been very good. The food is on point and every time i have eaten it... its put a smile on my face. The burgers are a good size and cooked to perfection. All sizes are available depending on your hunger. If your only feeling peckish I would recommend just Mak fries on its own The chicken wings platter is also ok, the funny thing is if you order is as takeaway you also get nachos but if you order it in house you don’t? My Rees’s peanut butter milkshake had its full wrapper in the milkshake... was not edible. You did offer me a replacement as it was ordered from home but i just never received one. I think the menu clip board idea needs to change as it just doesn’t work for me and feels unhygienic. I also think staff can often be very slow to respond when its busy. ..............………….......... So I returned to Mak Grillz in hope that they would redeem themselves and they did. I spoke to the owner extensively, the service was very good. I have updated the rating to 5tars. Lets hope it stays this way.

Came here last friday evening with a few friends, was fairly busy but got seated straight away. I found the service to be very good with a smile on the staffs faces 😊. I wasnt extremely hungry so never ordered much, the chips at first when arrived i thought looked like wedges but i was actually amazed how good they tasted!! Burger was on point too! I think this place has got great food and service and the pricing is just right... its definitely a MUST try for me. Keep it up guys 👍🏽

Came here with my wife and son. Amazing food. I had the wings, tried all three flavours and they were all great, particularly the bbq! I had the e17 burger and it was delicious (i always try the basic burger to compare with other joints). Definitely up there as one of my top 3 burger joints in london. Also tried the mak fries which are too die for! Not only was the food exceptional but so was the service. Very attentive were we didn't need to call them over when we were ready to order nor when we needed a privacy screen. Will definitely be returning and spreading the word. May Allah make your halal business a success!

* CASH ONLY RESTAURANT* Lovely restaurant, greeted by a nice lady who seated us and gave the menus. However, the menu is not nice as it was a clip board with menu printed on paper. If they want to continue with their business I would suggest a professional menu and it also did not feel clean. Once we ordered the food I got was lovely and I would go again, however the restaurant did lack ambience; but I would come back again.

We used to visit our friends in Leyton every Saturday and we'd sometimes order from Mak Grillz. We then moved further out from Chingford to Loughton and the pandemic months made it impossible to visit or order take away in the area. I saw a show tonight with someone ordering a veggie burger and The Amazon Forest Burger immediately crossed my mind. This was my first pregnancy craving in week 38 and it made me so happy finding Mak Grillz open for collection at 10pm on a Sunday night. I've never had a better veggie burger with actual vegetables between the two sesame seeded buns, accompanied by a beautifully grilled haloumi slice. The veggies are always cooked to perfection and the seasoning makes it so tasty. I guess the only 'issue' I have with it is that it's always so rich that the veggies are slipping out, which is never actually a tragedy when you can pick them up and wash your hands after:) Thank you Mak Grillz for the amazing menu and delicious food, it really made my day!

Highly recommended. Extremely fast service, food came after only 10 minutes of us ordering. Food was very nice aswell. I got the Maks Big Ben Tower Burger & skinny fries, defo in the top 3 burgers I've had. Very underrated and definitely worth the journey. Surprisingly no service charge too :)

Been to a lot of burger places and I have to say every bit of the burger I got tasted delicious (cant remember the name but it had some sort of name to do with a tower or something). Had to figure out how to eat it but I somehow managed to do it and finish it all. Every ingredient in the burger complemented off each other and overall had a wonderful taste. Saturday nights are the busiest. Be sure to book table in advance otherwise prepare to wait at least half an hour for a table. Nearly everything on the menu sounds appetising, however their burgers are the best so far. I would love to try their hotdogs and steaks too. I've seen other customers order them and they look amazing.

Small place in a very popular area for food. New comer with potential. Booth style seating and aspiring to be an American diner. Service was good but food took a while to come out. They serve burgers, grilled wings, steak, milkshakes and desserts but cannot say they mastered any yet. Good is quite standard but prices was surprisingly high. The steak was a real fail in all tests which include flavour, texture, size. Grilled wings we thought was just ok. Not a place we will be going again simply because the standards offered nearby is so much higher. The food put together here seems a little amateurish. But I wish them all the best.

Visited the place after seeing lots of good reviews from Instagram influencers but have to say was a very average meal had the platter which came with wings which on the outside was covered with sauce but the white meat inside was flavourless and smelt a bit off or like fish. The people are great given good service but sorry to say food like the onion rings and cheeseball tasted like something u would get from Iceland and fry at home same goes to the French fries. Wings were tiny The decor and everything else of the restaurant is great just I have to say was not worth the money for me personally. If the restaurant just improve on food quality especially onion rings as they genuinely did taste like Iceland or supermarket brought quality then it will be a fantastic place to go. I'm sorry for long comment but I am writing this because I do feel mak grillz could be a much better eating experience therefore for food 3 star but service and restaurant environments 5star

Burgers are nicely cooked and juicy single patty with a side is enough if you want just a burger than get a double patty by its self its really filling and delicious the special mack burger like a big mack is a good alternative to a mcdeez big mack as this restaurant is also halal and the mack sauce was good. The loaded mack fries with lulled beef is nice the salty beef and cheese complements the fries and is a good starter or if you're quite hungry you can just get that as a side with a single burger We also got the chicken stripers as a starter which were really nice with the seasoning and we're quite tender not tough. And the onion rings are good each time and the spicy mayo sauce they give with it is really nice and I'm not a sauce person but its really good :) would definitely recommend

Took my family last week. It's pricey at full price for a family meal but very good under Eat Out to Help Out. Really enjoyed the food especially Mak Fries. Absolutely loved this place. I admit the entire theme of the restaurant confused me, it wasn't very consistent and my burger was a little too salty for me but I think that was my taste. When I had asked my friends whether it was too salty for them, they said the same burger they had was fine (I generally can't handle much salt). We came today for my friends birthday and everyone from adults to babies had such a wonderful time here. The staff were so lovely and the menu had a huge range of delicious food, beverages and desserts. My particular highlight of the evening were the strawberry daiquiri and the barbecue wings.

Went with three friends the other day. Had a short wait for a table. A very warm/vibrant environment and perfect for families. Personally I love casual “grubby” dining places and mak grills definitely meets that criteria. The burgers were fantastic although i would have liked a bit more of the “mak special sauce” and gherkins flavours to come through. Overall though, the burger was really tasty. The wings platter me and my friend shared was really nice, the bbq sauce on the wings especially wasn’t over powering but was just perfect for my liking. 2 negatives that I’d pick up on: I didn’t however like my rustic skin on chips, it wasn’t entirely soft inside and needed to be cooked a bit more. And second, the seats at the table are quite uncomfortable. Thing you guys should consider getting some comfy chairs lol. Customer service is quite good. The staff are there at hand and over all are quite attentive. This place isn’t over priced, and is reasonable and I definitely will be coming back here in the future.

So, visited here soon after opening time on a Saturday with three other friends. Some had travelled relatively far because they had seen pictures on Instagram and really wanted to try. We ordered several things on the menu, hot dogs, steak, chicken, mak fries etc. I have to make it clear that the service was WONDERFUL. There was a lovely lady who served us and she made us feel very comfortable. However, unfortunately, the food was a bit of a let down. It was very much a case of more is more. The Mak Grillz chips with the beef ontop were below average. The chips were not crispy, even the bottom ones that had no additional cheese etc on them that could potentially make them soggy. The beef pulled ontop was quite bitter and the cheese had dried and become quite a clumpy mess. The remaining food was okay. I think if the price was significantly lower (maybe several pounds), I would feel it matched the food quality and thus, they would have five stars. Alternatively, perhaps reducing items on the menu and refining those? Wings, milkshake and spicy jalapeno balls for starters were lovely! If you are thinking of going, I would have a mix of the starters and some chips! For the reasons above, I will not be visiting again and would not recommend however, as I say, service was lovely.
