First visit to Mala's tonight, Absolutely 💯 one of the best Indian restaurants. Food was amazing met the head chef Shiv to thank him personally. The manager Raj was very friendly and welcoming I liked that he was checking all the customers were okay. Would definitely recommend

What's there not to like about this place. It speaks volumes - when you enter an Indian restaurant and you see Indians entertaining their other cultured friends and all lavishing on finely perpered indian dishes - you intuitively know - your onto a winner. I would certainly go back for more.

What a pretty restaurant, we held a dinner party for about 40 of us including kids and it went really well, food was good and service was brill, just what we wanted

We were company of free friends and never been before in this restaurant and to our surprise it was discovery of a real gastro gem, as food was amazing, all portions are decent and so delicious. My personal advice would be to order as much as possible different dishes and share with friends. Very pleasant and good experiences. Definatelly would come here again. Had food delivered today from Mala. Was very impressed with the quality of the food, however the spicing of the dishes definitely needs some revision. Butter chicken was borderline hot and spicy rather than a smooth medium heat. Similarly with the Masala, far hotter than advertised and the heat was a bit too much. I would order from here again, however, I’d have to request the spicing be to our liking or order from elsewhere. Also, dishes weren’t labelled which was frustrating when they all looked similar.

First time visited unfortunately I did not book a table and was a very busy evening however on arrival the manager made us feel very welcome and seated us which was a blessing. Beautiful spacious restaurant exceptional service & the food was beautifully presented and 5 🌟 to the chef it was very busy evening but the food was delicious. I will definitely be returning. The only other thought as a suggestion would be maybe to have a sharing platter per head as it seems a local restaurant for families & friends from the menu there is quite a range of different dishes so took a while to decide which lovely dishes to choose from. A lovely recommend restaurant thankyou 😊

My favourite Indian restaurant, we've always had a lovely experience when visiting. The food is consistently fresh and tasty. The drinks are lovely and the hosts are always welcoming and friendly. We accidently found this place on one of our visits to Finchley and have since kept coming back, we love it so much that we held our post wedding meal here. Coming from a family of foodies I needed somewhere where I knew the food was faultless but the place was also nice enough for my to turn up in a wedding dress - Mala was perfect.

Been here a few times now. Great restaurant wonderful decor. Food is clean and tasty with wonderful spices. Lovely drinks also. Easily the nicest indian restaurant in Whestone. We attended a private party at Mala's on 07/08/21 , everything from food to service was top notch. The waiting staff were brilliant , food was fresh and very tasty. Special mention to the manager and the lady at the bar, they were super friendly and made sure everyone is looked after well and is comfortable, they were in sync with the hosts and took over from them taking care of the all guests, letting the hosts enjoy the party too. Well Done Team Mala.

We visited this restaurant last Sunday with a large party for a family birthday celebration. What a great decision to choose this restaurant!! Firstly, the staff here were warm, friendly and attentive throughout the whole evening. The food was great and due to the party size we tried a large portion of the menu! All delicious and consistently of excellent quality. Everyone enjoyed themselves and I think we have found a new great restaurant that we will be visiting again. Thank you to everyone at the restaurant for making the evening extra special for all of us! I cannot recommend enough!!

Guys if you love Indian cuisine Mala is a great choice! The food is absolutely perfect! The lamb chops are on another level! FACT! The lamb curry is fantastic, tender and juicy. After trying many of the takeaways in this area, this is the only restaurant that makes delicious and tasty Indian restaurant quality food. We ordered the Amritsari fish, fried bhindi and sheikh kebab to start. All were hot and freshly prepared, but to mention succulent and juicy. The mains were also very nice, well presented. The methi chicken and prawn makhani were to very different and distinct dishes. Sometimes, it's easy to get a bunch of curries that taste pretty much the same. This was not the case. The service was also considered and well it was well managed. Justin our server was very helpful.

We went for a long awaited meal with friends we hadn't seen for over a year. We were welcomed very warmly by the wonderful hostess and served very warmly by the waiter.. a young man called Justice. He was very happy to help, answer questions and serve. What a gem.

I remember the food being good. However, their booking system is weird, you get no confirmation email, so I went in (a few days before the booking) to check they had my booking for last night. However, when we arrived the restaurant was closed!! Most disappointing for the six of us. UPDATE: Sonya called and apologised. They had a serious issue that threw them off track., all good now. We'll be back.

Ordered a takeaway meal from Mala for the first time. It was a family meal. As we were outside their delivery area I needed to collect but a discount was offered. The food was very good. Nicely spiced and flavoured, delicious. Only 1 complaint. The chilli naan had no green chillies on it just a dusting of red chilli flakes. Recommended.

Mala's was the perfect place for our daughters 18th. The food was tasty and delicious. The customer service was awesome. Sonia was a great event manager. She helped with the decorations, let us play our own playlist. Took lovely pics of our special moments. Created a fab cocktail to go with our champagne toast with our guests!!😍

Mala has been a lifesaver during lockdown! We visited once a week to get our dose of Indian food. The dishes are truly authentic and the breads (especially the Tandoori Naan) is to die for. As it has opened up to sit down diners the atmosphere inside is excellent and the service and hosts are very friendly. Try the Karahi lamb and chicken tikka starter.

My wife and I had lunch there yesterday as we were attracted by the fact that the restaurant appeared to be serving authentic North Indian food unlike the anglicised 'curries' served up my most of the Bagladeshi run restaurants in the UK. We were not disappointed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the food was brilliantly cooked and served and you could taste all the individual flavours and spices which is a sure sign of authentic cooking. Two of the chefs are from the Dishoom which is one of my favourite restaurants so there is a guarantee of good cooking. Loved it and will go again - many times. The prices are very reasonable and ther is a very good offer on lunch deals

Dissapointing. Had high hope for this new Indian restaurant. Came in as a walk in on Saturday night. Restaurant busy but managed to get a table. Long wait for service and again long wait for the food to be delivered. Food and menu was dissapointing. Basically no sides to choose from and limited chicken dishes on offer. When bill came they put poppadoms on the bill even though they are not on the menu and we didnt get any. No apology for over charging instead was told 'we have only opened and menu is work in progress'. Would not recommend which is a shame as Whetstone needs another Indian that is not the fine dining offered by Bayleaf.

I went here with my family on Friday to try it out as I saw that it had recently opened. As I walked in I was greeted by friendly staff who took me to my table. Disappointed that cocktails were not available on a Saturday night, why have the cocktail menus on the bar ? Our table was booked for 8.30, but didn't become available until nearly nine. We sat at the bar to wait, a cocktail would have helped. Are people told when they book the early tables that they need to be finished by a certain time ? It would have been nice to have been offered water when we sat down, this is standard in most restaurants now. The food was excellent, and reasonably priced, no complaints there. All in all, a perfectly pleasant evening.

It's local to us in Whetstone so a 10 minute walk and we were there. There were 5 of us. We were given a tremendous amount of poppadoms for the table... not sure why... can only put it down to our good looks. We blended our starters but i particularly enjoyed the chilli mushrooms. I had a lamb dish as my main which was tender and tasty. We all enjoyed the food and drink. Recommended.
