Reviews of Mãos

Absolutely in love with this place! Chef Edoardo is effortlessly brilliant. Level of creativity, freshness, detail and tastefulness that Mãos has to offer cannot be matched by any other place.
Food:
When my friends ask me what kind of cuisine is it, I simply have no answer for them as the food at Mãos can range from Mochi filled with crab claw soaked in garum fermented type caramel crab juice to Dongchimi to delicious hand-dived scallops. I simply describe Mãos’ cuisine as “uniquely global”.
Chef’s creativity can be seen when you take a first scoop of Dongchimi. Don’t be fooled by the appearance of this one, it looks like easy to make dish but a lot many hours go into creating this amazing combination of spicy kimchi served very cold. Sudden hit of spice and cold cannot be described, you just need to experience it.
I love how Edoardo and his staff describe the process of making each and every dish!
Whisky sunken honey cake is the highlight for me. I don’t need to describe it as the name says it all!
Service:
Is top notch. I am yet to see such a dedicated staff at a restaurant.
Experience:
I recommend R&D table. It allows you to mingle and interact with other people. The communal feel of R&D table is great. The fact that you can move around and spend time with the Chef and his staff in the kitchen is beyond fun! While they are fully focused on making your meals, they do engage with you and make you feel at home. It almost feels like you are at your friend’s place who is hosting dinner for a group and you are simply hanging in the kitchen with your wine glass and chatting.
Highly recommended!

The food was excellent. It's a small restaurant and has very friendly kitchen staff that present a fixed menu. All the food was well presented and full of flavour. The only let down was the drinks. I had the wine pairing and regularly found myself with an empty glass waiting for the next drink. Either more glasses or less stingy portions would make it feel like it was fairer and allow you to enjoy the meal more fully. However, I still ranked it as 5 stars because this is still high on my list of best meals I have ever had.

This place deserves more than a 4.4. The people who left the 1 stars clearly don’t know anything about food and creativity. Yes the service was quite long but clearly they were in bad company. Most of the dishes were so technical and creative yet so tasty at the same time. The flavours were not what you’d expect to be paired together but somehow worked. The lobster tail with fois gras sauce was such a highlight and the cake at the end was basically a new invention. So much effort went into designing the dishes and it shows. The service was also absolutely impeccable and the visits into the kitchen for some of the courses was such a novelty. Loved every bit of the meal!

Excellent birthday meal. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine pairing, and a memorable evening altogether. Thank you to chef Eduardo - drawing on his roots - and the wonderful kitchen staff. We will be back! (P.s - I was initially perturbed by the post-lockdown negative reviews on Google but so glad I disregarded them. This is definitely Fat Duck League)

Amazing dining experience where you get to appreciate the process as well as the taste.
This is not your traditional sit down dinner and the food is not starter - main - dessert - bill style. Think small tastings of different ingredients and cooking methods that just keep coming and get more and more interesting.
Service is exceptional and you are in the presence of culinary geniuses.

Amazing fine dining experience in a very cozy and casual environment. Guests were encouraged to roam around and explore their wine room (with amazing selection) and the kitchen area where you can interact personally with the chefs. The food was absolutely incredible. Top quality ingredients were used in every dish where as other usual restaurants may only use them in only 30% of the entire menu. It is my third time at Maos and chef Edoardo continues to show his cooking technique has no boundaries. Definitely the place to be in London and you will not regret it!

What an experience! Definitely a dinner to remember.
Throughout the evening (and we've been there for nearly 5 hours!) you're free to wander around: see how chefs are carefully crafting your dishes in the kitchen explaining every detail from origin of produce to cooking techniques, chat to sommelier in wine cellar, or meet fellow 14 guests in a small yet cosy dining room with a shared table. It doesn't get more immersive.
A tasting menu of 15 dishes is impressive and has some ingredients which you wouldn't think go together before you try: from flavoursome wagyu beef with shellfish sauce to a dessert of celeriac, shaved truffle and jam, not to mention ice cream infused with cherry seeds that makes it taste very chocolate-y.
Each member of staff is extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, very approachable, polite and friendly, all making your experience truly personal.
Thank you so much!

You’ll leave hungry. Some dishes are awesome, others are very mediocre. There seemed to be a focus on using parts of the animal that you’d usually throw away, so I wondered where the £150 went. All the front of house staff were great and clearly very passionate.

This really is the best culinary experience in London. Every dish was delicious. Being able to be in the kitchen watching the chefs cook is like theater. Book as soon as you can you really won't regret it .

Incredible experience! Was amazing to see the chefs in action and be able to try some of the food as they talked you through what ingredients they used. There was also an entirely separate room for wine selections and very knowledgable sommelier.

This would be top 3 dining experiences ever, and I've been fortunate to have eaten at a lot of nice and different places around the world. If you can afford it do it. If you can't, save up.

Exemplary restaurant in every aspect. The food was up there with the very best 2 and 3 star establishments I’ve been to and the whole dining experience alongside that made it a night to remember.
