Reviews of Men Noodle Bar

this place is hugely underrated on Google, don't be dissuaded by the reviews and go here asap! Best Ramen I have had in London hands down, so delicious, really accommodating staff, nice vibe, reasonably priced. Will be returning! Really couldn't recommend it enough.

Came here on an evening. Was slightly disappointed with the homemade udon that didn’t really taste as expected. The ramen was alright. This is definitely different from the usual ramen place that I been to in London. It’s nice to come here when you need some Asian food.

Delicious food, and very friendly and helpful staff! As it was out first time there we got an ‘education’ on the different kinds of noodles.
They have excellent choices for vegetarians, our ramen and rice noodle was flawless, tasting fresh and very aromatic.
Grab a table outside and watch the “Chattsworth” world go by.
We can’t wait to go back and try the udon and curry noodles!

Interesting noodle bar in Clapton where they make their own noodles and hang it near the window.
There is a choice of soba, udon or ramen.
I don't get why they use metals as it is a super conductor which will cool the broth very quickly.

We ordered karage, prawn tempura, pork ramen and beef udon. You can really taste the afford and love went into the food and broth. Karage is well-marinated with the hint of cooking sake. They're tender and juicy inside. Both ramen and udon broth were rich and full of depth. The only problem we wanted to ask was if the ramen/udon texture could be improved? They don't have much bite to it and even felt a bit mushy.
However, just the karage and broth are enough to make us come back! Great food!

A really great find for ramen in London where options for a quality bowl of noodles are generally pretty limited. I ordered the karaage chicken, the pork ramen, and a draft pint of Kirin and it ran me about £25 before tip. The food was all delicious, the service was solicitous, and I found the environment to be inviting and attractive. Also loved the jazz playlist going on.
These are hand-pulled noodles made in-house and the other topping ingredients are of a high quality and prepped in the shop. You're not paying for a basic bowl of noodles here. If you want a £3 bowl of ramen go someplace else.
Will definitely be headed back to try more of the menu asap.

We had a great time here, food was delicious and staff very friendly!
We highly recommend the Vegetable Udon;)
We’ll definitely go back!

Incredibly well priced delicious ramen and noodles! The curry vegetable udon are honestly the best I've ever had, and the pork ramen was next level. Super friendly vibe. On street seating for chilling the day away. Kirin on tap for beer and fruit juice for drinks.

Apparently this place has been opened for 3 months now, but it was first time we saw it while looking for the lunch. We decided to try it as we enjoyed their interior which is so different to the places around and also it was long time since we had Ramen or Uden, the only two meals available during the lunch.
They had chicken or pork Ramen and veggie or beef Uden.
We had both of the Ramen (each £12, cash only). We didn’t have to wait too long for the soups to arrive and they were served very nicely and authentically. The chicken ramen was missing bit more seasoning for me, but my friend liked her pork ramen.
We will come back and try something else next time.

Delicious ramen - very authentic, reminds me of our trips to Japan! Service was great - and card is most definitely accepted. Also tried the veggie curry udon, prawn tempura and chicken karaage!
T. C.
Mediocre overall. Not the rich deeply flavoured broth you'd hope for from really good ramen. Quite expensive (£14-17 for a main) for what you get.

I was very surprised to read the previous reviews as when i walked inside Man Hackney I finally tasted Japan.
Highly recommended the Tempura soba and Vegetable noodles.
The downstairs seating area is very Cosy and the staff is very friendly.
This is the new little gem of Chatsworth Road!

I really liked the simple vibe of this place. I expected a cold, uninviting vibe but actually is was simple, unfussy, calming and warm! They also have a downstairs space. I think service could have been a little more friendly, but there's a small team so maybe they're still balancing this with getting orders out. My veg Udon was lovely, beautiful noodles and rich broth. I'd have liked a bit more veg but all in I'd definitely go back to try some of the ramen dishes next.

Vegetable Udon Noodles - incredible, delicious, unforgettable. Will be back. Will order vegetable Udon Noodles again.

Beautiful food! Had the rice noodle with chicken. Gorgeous broth! Quite possibly my favourite noodle shop in London! Just a little on the pricey end, but well, well worth it. Especially the occasional treat.

So delicious, beautifully balanced and rich flavours BUT small portions and overpriced. It's noodles, I would like more than 5. Crank up that serving and drop the price a touch and I'll eat there every night.

I heard about this place a lot from friends and finally got to check it out. They recommended trying the Seafood ramen, as they just made the broth for the day. It was so delicious! I also had shrimp tempura as an appetiser, Plum wine and mochi ice cream. I’d visit again to try other food on the menu.

Great soup - tried the Ramen which was good and the Udon which was outstanding. Minimalist interior looks nice.

Great local ramen joint. They add a bit of twist to common dishes like karaage and tempura. A lot of ramen options are soy or salt based (less heavy than the usual pork bone based tonkotsu). We were a bit put off by the previous Google reviews on service but we find the staff perfectly polite and pleasant.
B. J.
We ordered the edamame, tempura prawns, tempura vegetable soba and beef udon. All of the dishes were excellent - I felt like I was back in Tokyo. Would highly recommend!

Great noodles and sauce, very friendly
M. C.
The ramen noodles are perfectly al dente and toothsome

The ramen was great, but the service was terrible. Appalling waitstaff that were quite rude. I asked about certain dietary requirements, which they had no idea about it, so asked if they could ask the chef and they just ignored me.

Cute place, though I've not eaten in it yet. The take away containers function well and most importantly, the food is great~ I've had their Vegetable Ramen twice and would rate it a 4/5!

Amazing noodles. Highly recommend the tofu rice

Great to have a new ramen shop in the neighbourhood. The home-made noodles are excellent. Please add a piece of nori to the soup and offer extra serving of noodles and other sides, such as eggs and corn, as a Tokyo ramen-ya would do. You could do a London first and offer miso ramen. The chashu should be more tender and flavoursome, but this is a charming little place.

Great place and awesome service. Simone was really helpful and cooked a bespoke dish following my dietary requirements. Thank you.

Man seeking Men. There were a few but had some food instead and the food was amazing. I had the chicken karage, beef udon and calpis. So delicious. Just go there immediately or else
H. C.
Had a really delicious pork ramen (great broth) and the staff were helpful and nice.
D. Y.
Underrated on Google, the vegan ramen is amazing and authentic, great atmosphere late weekend with music and beer
C. B.
Probably the best Ramen I’ve had - super authentic restaurant and great tasting broth, highly recommend trying! Negative reviews very unfair / questionable... they do take card now 👌🏼
T. u.
Most negative reviews are based around them running out of stock when they first opened because they were in such high demand, which is actually a testament to how good they are. Best ramen I've had.
C. M.
Lovely
O. L.
Cute place, authentic feel, great menu, delicious food! Strong ramen!
J. Q.
friendly service, good sides and tasty noodles
R. N.
The food is consistently good and I love the jazz soundtrack
C. W.
Very tasty noodles. The spicy ones were particularly delicious.
D. A.
Great options, really good quality tasty food, friendly service and good value
B. C.
Seriously tasty pork ramen, the vegan option is also amazing according to my girlfriend! Highly recommend, get with the program!
H. N.
Baffled by the negative reviews, this is some of the best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan.
Service was fine and nothing to complain about.
I had the pork ramen and karaage: the broth was perfectly seasoned, not bland at all; and the noodles were the perfect texture (not too hard or soft; I’m unsure if they do different noodle hardness here but you could probably ask) and they soaked up the flavour of the broth well. The karaage, although not the traditional plain fried with lemon had a nice and slightly spicy seasoning to it in addition to the all-important crunch.
The only gripe is that it’s cash only and that it’s £12 a bowl but that’s London. I would definitely return, but bring cash from home: all the cash machines on this road charge for withdrawals! Also, there are plenty of seats both upstairs and downstairs so don’t let the previous reviews deter you, they must’ve renovated recently!
O. W.
Really tasty curry based udon! Great vegi options! Super tasty
T. H.
Highly recommend, best ramen that I've had in London!
M. Z.
Great udon noodles, probably best we've had in London
P. Y.
Decent ramen on Chatsworth Road. We tried the vegetable ramen and the shrimp tempura soba. Both broths we're okay, but unbalanced - the shoyu soup was too salty and the dashi broth too sweet. They are also missing the little delicious flourishes that make ramen great. My soba should have had way more green onions (and less seaweed) and could have used a bit of sesame seed, or a piece of nori, or something. There isn't even togarashi on the table so you can spruce up your own bowl! All in all, it feels a little too austere and not quite there. Still, for Chatsworth road, it's okay...?

Amazing food terribly slow service
L. S.
Minimalist setup. Delicious ramen. Will return.
J. K.
Just wow. Amazing.
B. P.
I enjoyed the noodles here (curry udon) - cash only policy was bit irritating ...
