Reviews of Meson Callejon
A. C.
I don't usually go to Spanish restaurants because the food is usually not that good. But this one was recommended to me by a Spanish person, so I decided to give it a go. It turned out the food was really good. The croquetas de jamón were delicious and the arroz a banda with the alioli too. The staff was really friendly and nice. It was a little more pricey than we had anticipated, but worth it! They have Rebujito here 🤩
l.
Best Spanish Restaurant by far in London. If you want to know how Spanish food tastes look no further - come here and find a real Spanish menu. Really good service as well and great wine list. I would recommend the seafood paella ( doesn't come with chorizo, sorry Brits!)
C. F.
Meson Callejon is the kind of place where you go to have lunch and end up having dinner too!
I was never much of a drinker, so I have ordered a glass of Sangria, wrong! At the Meson Callejon you need to order a Jug!
I understood that the croquettes can be my starter before to die
I love potatoes! The ones at Meson Callejon with homemade aioli takes you directly to heaven
Best Seafood Paella!!! Go and enjoy!
Last, but not least, you will find very nice clean and ironed white tablecloth, happy staff and fantastic music on the background, which makes the atmosphere lovely.

Delicious freshly cooked dishes that just give you the Spanish food fix that you need on cold London days. All the tapas dishes are just mouthwatering and so is the paella - so full of flavour and taste. The staff are very friendly and always there to help you.
B. D.
We had a really nice vegetarian paella. Rice was cooked all the way through, not raw in the center like you get in a lot of places. Tapas were good, they had all the standard options.
L. J.
Had a lovely long lunch at Meson Callejon. The service was friendly and efficient, the portion sizes HUGE and most importantly really tasty food. The tapas deal we ordered was great value for money, and the sangria was fab company hehe. We couldn't finish it all but our waiter was kind enough to package it up for us to enjoy later on in the day. Highly recommend!

My first and sadly last time for a little while as we found a long hair in our food… they were very nice and replaced it immediately. The other issue was the place was really understaffed - I believe there was only 1 poor waitress all night waiting 8 tables on her own.
B. M.
Just finished an amazing lunch here. The gambas al ajillo and the cheesecake were both so so delicious. The waiter and chef were very helpful and friendly. Definitely will be back and highly recommend
C. M.
Loved this place!! I am Spanish myself and I was surprised of how tasty the food was. You can really say they use Spanish products, felt like home! The staff was super friendly and approachable, had the best costumer service and the atmosphere in the restaurant was great which made it an overall great experience. It has a very nice terrace which I can’t wait to try in summer! Definitely will be back soon and will highly recommend.
T.
Good taste, large portions, decent prices, friendly staff. The croquetas were the best part! Will come back :)

Lovely hidden away Gem in the heart of London. The food is excellent and the staff are always super friendly and know the menu and wine really well so if you have any queries they are great at explaining and helping ,so you make the right choice to suit you.
Would highly recommend.

Loved it. Really nice restaurant with amazing staff. And the food... The meatballs tapas is delicious and the paella, although I am not a fan of rice in general, was cooked to perfection, with plenty of seafood to go around...and nine of that chorizo messing around that people think should go into a paella just because is Spanish.
We really enjoyed ourselves and we will definitely go back for more.
Definitely recommend.

Such an outstanding REAL-Spanish food! I will come back soon! I’m a very picky Spaniard who loves cooking and eating and it’s the first time I felt like it was worth to pay for Spanish food in London after seven years living here. (I had tried different Spanish Restaurants but I they were disappointing).
The chef is a genius in the kitchen and very friendly.
Paella, croquetas and cheese cake were all home-made with very fresh and nice ingredients.
Prices were good too, nothing crazy at all.
Very recommended!

Recently opened Spanish restaurant with an authentic Spanish theme and food by Spanish chefs! We were invited for the opening and got to taste most of the menu. Staters, mains and the drinks are delicious! The traditional home made Spanish cheesecake and the Carajillo ( Spanish drink combining coffee with brandy ) is not to be missed! I recommend Meson Callejon on Upper Street in Islington.
A. A.
Unbelievable experience! Best paella in London by far. Loved the atmosphere and the staff was really nice. Would recommend Arroz a Banda, Marineras and Albondigas. Will definitely go back soon!

This place is tucked away but when you get in, you get such a warm nice welcome that you forget all the worries outside. The waiter was incredibly nice throughout the whole meal, giving us amazing recommendations for what we should have. The food was amazing and it tasted like it could've come out of a Spanish grandmother's kitchen. The meatball tapas alone are worth a visit (we also had the paella which was great - and do not skip on dessert! Definitely best for last)
Y. V.
Lovely place! Food was amazing, tapas were huge and so delicious! I really enjoyed my tasty sangria. Recommend to everyone who is looking for a great meal. Our waitress was friendly and has been wearing a mask all the time. Looking forward to come back for paella!
F. M.
Truly authentic Spanish place, with super cute outdoor sitting area, that doesn't get any of the street noise! Will surely take my other friends there! Bear in mind, some of the tapas were very salty for my taste, others were fine. My personal favorite - pisto!
C. C.
Amazing food and even better service. Excellent place to go as a couple, group of friends or company dinner. We discovered it a month ago and have been there 4 times already. Everything ( and I mean EVERYTHING) is delicious but my favourite is the Seafood Paella, ham croquetas and Murcian pisto. I'd definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys good Spanish food.

Dinner for 4 before Sadlers Wells on Friday night. We couldn't have made a better choice. The food was really good, great value and best of all the service was warm, friendly and completely authentic. Thanks to the lovely owner for the time she spent explaining the dishes. Her passion for her business shone through.
K. B.
Absolutely delightful gem just down a small alleyway off of upper street. Stopped in for a quick weeknight meal, and the experience was fantastic, topped only by the quality of the food and the service.
Our waiter José recommended us the delicious meatball tapas to go along with our paella (pictured, it was the arroz a banda, specific to the Murcia region). We finished with the Spanish bread pudding and a slice of the homemade cheesecake - both of these were spectacular, although I think I give the edge just slightly to the bread pudding.
Very welcome addition to the area, and I'll definitely be back!

Best Spanish food we’ve had in London so far! Amazing food, great service

My family (hubby and 2 kids 5,9) stumbled upon this little restaurant over the weekend when we were actually intending to head to Meat Liquor.
I enjoy trying new restaurants especially family owned ones I thought we'd give this a shot. I'm going to divide this review up into two sections the food and the service.
Food 4/5*
We got the chicken and seafood paella. Our server told us this was going to take about 25 to 30 minutes to cook. So we ordered the calamari to start. The calamari was surprisingly a little tough and chewy. Not at all what I would expect at a Spanish restaurant. The Paella however was delicious! A very generous serving with lots of seafood and chicken. The saffron flavor just shined through. Can't recommend it enough!
We also tried the braised beef, patatas bravas and chicken croquettes. my children devoured the beef. It was absolutely cooked perfect and they love dipping the bread in the sauce. The chicken croquettes were very rich and flavorful. The potatoes had a nice little kick to them.
Dessert was a piping hot plate of churros and chocolate that was just the right amount of sweet.
Service 3/5*
We went to the restaurant early Saturday evening. There were only about five other tables at the time. There seemed to only be one server and he wasn't as attentive as he could have been. I don't know if he was just overwhelmed by being the only one. Service was slow. it didn't bother us too much because we didn't have anywhere to go to after and the kids were fine.
We got served our bread basket along with a plate of Spanish omelette. I thought it was on the house because it wasn't something we had ordered. children went to go wash their hands and I was about to serve ourselves some of this Spanish omelette when the server came back (probably 3-4 minutes later) and mumbled that he had mistakenly served us the omelette, picked it up and served it to the table next to us. That surprised me. I could have sneezed on it at that point and those people could have been eating my germs. It just doesn't seem hygienic and the restaurant should have just made that table a new one. I feel like it goes against all health and safety codes. If you've walked away from a dish for almost 5 minutes after having served it to a different table you should not then serve it to another.
J. C.
Excellent. The paella is fantastic and the service is fast and friendly. Highly recommended
L. S.
My friend and I were expecting lovely tapas to share and the portions seemed to be prepared for people on diat ! At least, the plates were tasty and the wine enjoyable
M. M.
Beautiful restaurant, with the nicest people and food with affordable prices. The waiter Andres, who was very attentive, recommended us some dishes which were spectacular (try the cheesecake!). Will definitely be back next time I am in London.
S. B.
Such great authentic Spanish food and the Paella fiesta is amazing value!
I.
Delicious food and great service! I love the croquetas, paella and sangria but everything I've tried here is delicious. I've gone multiple times already and can't wait to come back!
H. M.
Great Tapas restaurant in a little ally just off Upper Street. The food was delicious, we had the 5 tapas menu option is was plenty of food for 2 people. Grandma's meatballs were a highlight, but all the dishes were very good. Pepe, the chef came out to ask how the food and the service was lovely. Consistently wore a mask while serving us outdoors as well, which is good to see during these times.
D. E.
I went last year in November.
The waiter was incredibly friendly and helpful.
To be honest the tapas was nothing special but you MUST COME HERE FOR THE PAELLA.
We had the arroz bomba it was fantastic..can't wait to try it again. It's so worth it.
The sangria was unfortunately watered down, maybe could have been left overs from the all you can eat lunch on sangria and paella.
I will come back soon!
D. F.
We had lunch in this Spanish restaurant. The food offer is amazing and the execution of the traditional Spanish recipes is perfect!! The space is very enjoyable and it is the perfect place for a friend's meeting. The staff is very kind and make you feel at home. We had some tapas and one or their Paellas and it was an incredible lunch! Totally recommendable!! We will be back soon.
f. m. e.
I am Spanish and this is the only Spanish restaurant I thoroughly recommend!Friendly staff, delicious good and some taps and bites from my native Murcia you won't find elsewhere in London. The dessert selection is to die for
L. K.
I like tapas generally, but nothing special here. Also the jurros were a huge dissapointment.
Covid protocols entirely non-existent.
A. B.
The food is really good! I’m not a big fan of Spanish tapas (to pricey for not really much), but this place deserves its reputation!
D. R.
What a great place! We were taking a stroll down Upper Street and saw the menu board and thought we'd give it a go. I'm so glad we did! The food and service were outstanding. If you got this food in a restaurant in Spain you'd be over the moon, so to find it on Upper Street was a real treat! We've just found out about the bottomless paella deal too so we're 100% coming back. Thoroughly recommended.
A. K.
First off, the two waiters that tended to our area were fantastic and tentative to our friends needs during covid, excellent service. Secondly, the food was fantastic, my partner and myself shared the Tapas, damn it was good. Plus great atmosphere sat on the outside tables.
L. R.
Very good food - best Tapas I had in a while. We booked for 8 and didn't get a table until 8:40 which was quite frustrating. Service was very slow. The staff were doing a great job but were just too stretched - they definitely needed an extra pair of hands.
E. L.
Superb independent Spanish restaurant with influences from the owners' local region of Spain.
We ordered a belly-busting combination of tapas and traditional paella (no mention of chorizo anywhere, as it should be!) for lunch and every dish was a testament to what can be achieved with simple, quality ingredients, expertly prepared by skilled and passionate people.
Warm and welcoming staff and atmosphere. Will definitely visit again.
P. M.
Excellent food and service very friendly staff best Tapas in London we will be regular visitors.
A. P.
We stumbled across this place a few hours ago.. Cosy, traditional Spanish. The waiter was so friendly and welcoming, he recommended really good things on the menu. We had a little Spanish Omelette and meatballs in a delicious sauce for tapas... and then the seafood paella. The best paella I've ever tasted!! We were given complimentary dessert as the place is quite new. Such lovely cheesecake. Good value, great food, good to support a new local business!

Discovered a new spanish restaurant. Amazing paella and tapas 😋
S. C.
I had dinner here with my partner and we were more than impressed! We didn’t expect this place was going to be so big as it is little hidden, but it has a lovely patio which is perfect for a summer day. The food is so authentic and I can verify that as I’m spanish 😂. Not only the food was amazing, but the service was incredible too, they were quick, attentive and super friendly. Shoutout to waiters David and Pepe who were super funny and made our evening so enjoyable. I’m so happy to have discovered this place, I will definitely come back!
P. C.
Just passing and the menu caught our eye. Lovely place and hope to be coming back soon. Delicious tasty food, brilliant service. Great waiter!
A. A.
Quaint homely place but loses some points because was jam-packed yet only 2 waiters on shift, meaning very long wait times although I must admit the servers were so kind. Our vegetarian paella while so flavourful (wow smoked cauliflower) was quite salty but I'm sure this isnt a regular occurrence!
G. A.
We keep coming back for the paella and croquetas! Great staff and service too. Perfect for dining with friends, indoors or outdoors.
B. T.
Absolutely amazing! Authentic Spanish food and great service! From the beer and wine to the tapas dishes.. meatballs, croquettes, pisto, beef stew.. and the cheesecake were some of the many delicious things we had! I highly recommend it and will definitely be coming back!
M. B.
Authentic Spanish Restaurant, very friendly Staff and not overpriced. I was there last week for Dinner with Colleagues. We ordered variety of Tapas to share and Mixed Paella for three. As starter we were offered a refreshing gazpacho, which already was really good. The different Tapsas included Potatoes with home made Ajoli, Sausages and Squid. Great taste and Quality already there. Then the Paella was served. Knowing traditional Paellas from Spain and the different regional flavours, i was really surprised in a very positive eay with the Paella we got served. Fresh ingredients, high quality and the right amount of seafood and chicken came very close to what you will get in Spain in a traditional Space there. Along with a really good wine recommendation (Roja) we had a great evening in a nice Environment. Definetely will come back. Please keep Passion and Quality!
O. M.
Seeing the reviews, I came in with high expectations. Unfortunately the whole experience was pretty average. I don't understand how it can get such good reviews...
The food is average. Tapas were not great. The Special Iberico was not very special. The paella was the only decent dish.
Also quite understaffed. There was a single waiter for the entire restaurant. Waiter was friendly!
S. O. C.
I have been in London for three years missing Spanish food a lot...and today I can say I was gladly surprised! Amazing service by Jose and Pepe, they make you feel at home. The Paella is highly recommended, good price and quantity! I had even enough for my tomorrow’s lunch!!
P. H.
Warm and inviting Spanish restaurant with staff who are more than happy to help and advise, if needs be.
What really excels is the tasty selection of dishes, from the simple to complex flavours of the best tapas dishes. The clientele all clearly happy and comfortable with the surroundings.
Great pricing for the location, this is a hidden gem and well worth the visit.
J.
Very nice little tapas place hidden down the alley I always forget about. Popped in on spec on a busy Friday evening and space was found. Meatballs were ace, as were the matrimonios. Will be back.
A. D.
Easily one of our top 3 spanish restaurants in London for sure. Service was very polite and the staffs were very attentive. We went for the tapas combo offer and the portions are rather generous and the price worked out to be very reasonable compare to other spanish places in soho. The ensaladilla rusa was tasty as well as the croquetas. Homemade alioli with toasted bread was very moreish. We have yet to try the Paella but we will be back for sure. If you’re looking for great traditional spanish food, you won’t be disappointed!
M. A.
New Spanish restaurant in the neighbourhood!
A must go!
Delicious authentic food, you can really taste the love put into every dish!
Service is outstanding. Make sure you have the mouthwatering Asturias cheesecake!
A big thank you to Jose and Pete who looked after us like royalty.
A. B.
Absolutely delicious tapas at a very affordable price. Homestyle Spanish cooking at its best, plus amazingly friendly staff and comfortable atmosphere. Must-tries are the "broken eggs and chorizo", as well as "grandma's meatballs". SO DELICIOUS!
J. B.
True Spanish cuisine at good price + super friendly staff and charming ambient.
J. M.
A charismatic place with a sense of Spanish rhythm than most definitely resemble some of my memories from south of Span.
The waiting time was quite long. However, the food that arrived beat my expectations. Patatas Bravas, mushrooms and prawns in garlic only unearth what about to come. Seafood paella had a unique taste and resembling flavours of particular food from the south of Spain.
Definitely place for friends lunches and dinners. Come and visit...

Right after coming back from Spain, bumping into the slightly hidden Meson Callejon has been a wonderful surprise. The food was delicious, the people caring and the overall experience fabulous. The chief was actually from the precise place we had visited in Spain and he knew his recipes well. A delightful reminder of our trip we keep coming back to.
J. S. B.
I went there for my birthday on a friends recommendation. It was like flying back to Spain (even in prices!). We had tapas and abanda rice, which we loved. The place is cozy and authentic, the food delicious and the service couldn’t be friendlier. Totally recommended.
A. J.
So far the best paella in London! Great atmosphere and staff.
The tapas were excellent too(marinera and tortilla de patata). Defo better than many restaurant I ve tried in Spain.
I highly recommend you to eat ARROZ A BANDA.
I hope to go back soon.
R. F.
Beautiful, authentic spanish food. We had 5 tapas dishes to share between 2 hungries and it was perfect. A lovely hidden gem just off of upper st. Will be back very soon!
M. R.
New opening in upper street and so far best one I have tried around the area. Run by Spanish not like many others Spanish restaurants in London. Massive portions and best cheesecake I have tried in ages. I will definitely go back and try the Paella!
T. P.
Wonderful Spanish restaurant tucked away in an alley in Upper Street. Food was truly authentic, lovely tapas served by a very helpful polite waiter. The restaurant itself was invitingly decorated with brickwork and bottled wine on show, beautiful white linen table cloths and crystal clear glasses. Large jug of iced lemon water seved up with beautiful hot crusty bread. Definitely will be returning for the meatballs, fried chilli peppers and mixed vegetable tapas. Do not miss out on the house special home made rice pudding. Scrumptious. A great evening all round x
M. P.
Genuinely Spanish and delicious food, excellent service! Highly recommended!
L. I. M.
Best Spanish food I've had in London, hands down. I'm a picky Spaniard who's never satisfied with Spanish food in London, but the food here is glorious. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience insuperable. Do try the pisto and the arroz con leche, they are to die for.
b. m.
A proper Spanish restaurant as you would find in Spain. Traditional food well cooked, the real flavour. Paella is tasty, cooked perfectly. You can find the very traditional Spanish beers - Alhambra (la verde), Estrella Galicia, Mahou 5 estrellas. Spanish atmosphere - music, waiters, even the chairs! The service is attentive and helpful, they make you feel like at home.
J. D. N.
I have gone to this restaurant for more than three times, and I can't say how much I love it. All the food, all the attention, the environment, everything is absolutely AMAZING. Well done guys.
I have recommended it to my friends and they were very happy too.
Jose (Server), Anna (Server) and Pepe (Head Chef) are the best one. Thank you guys, I will come back many time for sure.
J. S.
Great food and great location. Quite side ally with friendly staff.
Order the organic red and the chicken tappas, it's out of this world. I've lived in Spa in for 3 years so fussy when it comes to tappas, this place did not disappoint amazing food.
I'm also fussy on olives, but the olives was great too.
C. S.
This place is an absolute gem in ths middle of Highbury! The portions are really decent for the price. The staff are really lovely and chatty. The food is authentic Spanish and possibly the best of tapas in London (we've been to a few so not just saying that). Highly recommended to all!!!
G. A.
Super authentic Spanish restaurant in London. Food is fresh cooked and high quality, especially paella. Also the personnel is super nice! they also have a good selection of wines.
C. O.
The restaurant was under staffed the night we went although it must be hard to plan in these unusual times. The food was really nice so we might be back to give the service another chance.
Z. Y.
The best Spanish restaurant we have been in London for sure! Great atmosphere, high quality ingredients and tasty tapas. Highly recommend and will be back soon.
C. J.
Best Spanish restaurant I've tried in London, the food is amazing as the staff, Pepe and Jose made my day today. It’s like you are in Spain, great atmosphere and incredible food. I totally recommend it.
S. A.
This place is rather new. I wasn’t wowed by the food but also not disappointed either. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, portion sizes are rather big for a Tapas restaurant. The only reason why I don’t give this place a higher rating is because I think the food could have come in a better order and quite frankly I didn’t think the tapas are that of a show-stopper. The world of Tapas is tough to compete in and I think the place could benefit from coming up with some more original dishes to make themselves stand out in the area.
J. H.
Impeccable service
Thanks to the chef who stood outside with the tortilla we wouldn't have found this place.
Amazing food, tucked behind upper street. You need to come and try the the food and wine with fantastic service. Highly recommend.
C. H.
As many people have already said, this is an absolute gem of a place, the absolute real deal for proper Spanish tapas. We got chatting to the friendly owner who is from Murcia (and has been in London less than a year!); the menu therefore has some Murcian specialities and all the classics including the best pimientos de padron I think I've ever eaten and a plate of hand carved Iberico ham for £9 - this is an absolute bargain for a hugely generous portion of the world's best thing you can do to a pig. They also have a paella menu which the table of Spaniards behind us ordered from which looked similarly great. The portions are massive, the wine is cold (and delicious), the welcome is warm. I will definitely be back here and would encourage anyone else to go asap! Thank you Meson Callejon.
N. D.
Wonderful food, perfect service and a great rustic atmosphere. Jose was our waiter...warm, friendly and helpful. Absolutely loved this place and I reccomend it highly. Reasonably priced and an easy going unpretentious atmosphere. Food was delicious and beautifully cooked. Grandmas meatball ...just wow
M. M. F.
Incredible food. The paella is the best that I have ever eat! Also the cheesecake! Besides, the restaurant stuff is really kind and friendly. You, definetly, must to come here!
PD: Soy española y lo digo con conocimientonde causa! Son geniales!!
C. M. B.
This is the very first time in 5 years that I try a real seafood paella in London. Just BRILLIANT! And on the other hand the alioli is exactly the same than the one my grandma used to make. I could not feel more at home!!!
PS: I made them promiss me that they will not change the quality when they become super famous.
B. B.
Guys. Forget about Barrafina and all the other spanish restaurants, this place is the best. Amazing service, delicious food, everything is fresh and cooked once you order. Great price for quality. It opened a few weeks ago. Recommend paella.
J. G.
I’ve just had lunch at this super place: menu includes two tapas and mixed salad for £9.95 – fabulous food, lovely service, want to go back tomorrow. Spreading the word because more people should be here, it's a great place, but maybe not obvious because up an alley off Upper Street - between Cafe La Divina and Toast. Highly recommended!
A. R.
Wow wow wow... I had so much of that delicious food, I fell like I was 4 months pregnant. We were treated like a king and a queen with my bf, outstanding service, home made food, really rare in the area. I will definetely go back to try the paella from Murcia. Go, go, go, this place deserves success! Un beso a los duenos! Anne y François-Xavier
K. N.
Absolutely fab authentic Spanish food..my Spanish husband and I thouroughly enjoyed our Spanish tapas meal .we enjoyed the variety and felt like we were back home..
Well done chef Pepe!!!
We will be back...highly recommend
A. L.
Absolutely delicious! I had a vegetarian paella, some tapas and an amazing sangria! I’m going back soon for sure!
E. C.
A very nice chorizo and cheesecake. Impeccable, home-like service, lovely venue, you can eat out and the bread (+extra) is on the house. Finally like in Spain!
D. E. (.
Proper Spanish food! Coming from a guy from Madrid this is saying a lot. They use fresh and very especial ingredients from Spain particularly in the paella which definitely makes you taste the difference!
M. G.
As spanish I really felt like home with these dishes!! Albondigas is a must and the spanish rice pudding it's like my grandma... Yummy! Very good price and excellent service. It had become one of my favs 👌
B. N.
Beautiful food, great atmosphere, friendly staff
A. C.
Whilst I was disappointed when Antonio's closed, I'm pleased to see another good restaurant take it's place. Good atmosphere (could be darker), excellent service and some lovely food. Didn't go for the paella but will try it next time. Good value for money.
G. T.
Really nice tapas and not stupid prices highly recommended
A. S.
Great traditional Murcian food at good prices. The portions are pretty big which is a plus as well. One of the best Spanish restaurants in London.
L. R.
We had a really good lunch here today. Every dish was all executed and tasty, prices reasonable. And service was really friendly and attentive. We'll definitely be back!
B. W.
Staff were super friendly and food was tasty classic Spanish. Loved it!
C. K.
Great food, great wine, lovely service. Tapas combo excellent value
C. H.
Amazing place. I especially enjoyed the tortilla de patatas but all the tapas we tried were delicious. Great place, atmosphere and lovely staff. Highly recommended.
G. P.
The place is quite small but the food is amazing. 💓🤤
P. G.
Loved this Spanish restaurant which we found by chance in a little alley by upper street. Food was delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed and simple yet sophisticated. Will come back!
Y. L.
Nothing stood out - all of it tasted average and forgettable. We got the grilled sea bass, deviled sausage, and aubergine.
A. A.
Amazing experience. I'd never expect to eat such a tasty seafood paella in London... Outstanding quality food. Great service.
E. S.
Amazing food, it made me feel like I was again in Spain. Waiters are amazing. I've never seen anything like this in London pure Spanish food, finally!
E. C.
As a spaniard i can only say that It is very difficult to find this high quality food even in my country. Simply Wonderful!!!. On top of that the service and the kindness is also outstanding. Congratulations!!!!
P. H.
A hidden gem in Islington, very fresh paella and great service
d. b.
Hidden gem in Angel area. Traditional authentic food, brings delicious memories of sunny Spain! Efficient and nice service too!

N. M.
Amazing food and great staff. Authentic Spanish food.
J. A.
The best paella I’ve ever had in London - highly recommended and the staff and service is unbeatable.
V.
Had a wonderful meal with great service
C. H.
I found the starters very good, but the main course (mussels) bland. The service was excellent, overall with such a limited menu could have been better.
A. G.
Meson Callejón is definitely the best place in London where to eat Traditional Spanish food. We will come back very soon!
A. O.
The food was ok, but not the best. We only got some tapas, maybe not what this restaurant is so famous for.

Some of the food was delicious. We found a piece of aluminum foil in our food and received no apology or anything else. Just an "Oh".
J. V.
The food was delicious, and portions were very well served. A very pleasant location near Angel and I would definitely come back!

(Translated) The paella is of quality and the flavor is very good. Whatever you order it will take enough quantity, for example (if you order chicken) there will be a lot of chicken in the paella, which gives it the rich flavor and is appreciated. And it is that the portions are large, a paella for 2 easily feed 3 people. The prices are normal, as it is located in Angel zone 1 in London. About £ 20 per head including drink and you can eat very well. There are also group offers on the web. The treatment was good, the waiters were very friendly. I would go back :)

(Translated) Excellent service.
Excellent place.
Excellent value for money.
The chicken croquettes, the meatloaf, the chicken with pepper and the rice a banda de scandal. It's basically what we ordered, nothing was mediocre.
Needless to say more, go and try it yourself, the cook is a crack.

Servicio excelente.
Lugar excelente.
Relacion calidad-precio excelente.
Las croquetas de pollo, las albondigas, el pollo a la pimienta y el arroz a banda de escandalo. Es basicamente lo que pedimos, nada fue mediocre.
No hace falta decir mas, id y probadlo vosotros mismos, el cocinero es un crack.

(Translated) Well! This place was a pleasant surprise. My wife and I were walking down Upper Street and saw the sign for MEAT Liquor and on the way there caught a glimpse of the menu to Mesón Callejón. What a treat. We had great ratatouille, salad, squid and clams and they were all quite authentic. The bread was very good and it was all a decent price. We will definitely be back.
What a surprise this restaurant! The waiter José very friendly and attentive. The food quite authentic and all reasonably priced. It costs me a lot to go to a Spanish restaurant in London because the food is nothing like that of Madrid and it costs you an eye of the whole face but this place is very good. I will be back!

Menuda sorpresa este restaurante! El camarero José muy amable y atento. La comida bastante auténtica y todo a precio razonable. Amazing restaurant As a Spaniard, I love having found a restaurant in London that offers Spanish food and real Spanish dishes, and not the adaptations you find in many places (I must say that the rice and the secret were to suck your fingers!).
The waiters and chefs are majestic and do their best to make sure you have the best experiences.
I recommend it without any doubt!

(Translated) Thank God we spent the last night we were in London. Very good food, the tapas were excellent and the service superior. We let ourselves be carried away by the recommendations of the owners and it was a success. You can not be in London and not go through there, it would be unforgivable. In Los Alcázares we will miss you.
