Reviews of Mimino Georgian Restaurant

10/10
The best khinkali I have ever eaten!
In more detail: I never liked sweet wines, but Mimino convinced me otherwise. The food is cooked with great love, you will want all your friends to come too and try the wonderful khinkali and khachapuri. The atmosphere is conducive to a good conversation, no need to rush anywhere, a good place to enjoy yourself. I'm crazy about the huge round table, it's very beautiful =)

I wish I took more pictures but the food was just too delicious to stop and take a pic. Lovely quiet ambience. Definitely order a bottle of wine as they are all authentically Georgian. Get the Khachpuri and you'll never want normal pizza ever again. Fresh and flavoursome.

Fantastic food and amazing service, a real Georgian restaurant with totally authentic food.
Made to feel totally at home and can see myself being a regular visitor as long as I can still fit in my trousers!

It was one of the most authentic and genuine restaurant experience I had in London. Both the food and wine were absolutely amazing. The georgian dumplings are a must try. I cannot recommend enough this place. Book in advance, come with a smile, bring some friends, and you will have an amazing evening!
嘤.
Amazing atmosphere and food! We went with the mixed cold meze and khachapuri (bread with cheese) - all well flavoured and delicious. We sat by a large group of Georgian friends who were laughing, dancing, drinking and extremely friendly. Love the music and atmosphere! A hidden gem in London.

Friendly place with great Georgian food and wine at reasonable prices

A hidden gem! It was my first time trying Georgian food, but the owner was helpful and the food we had was delicious. Prices are very reasonable for central London. We went on a Friday evening and it was very quiet, although apparently Saturdays are busier so best to book if you're going on a Saturday evening.

Along with the intimate setting, this place is fantastic because of the amazing homemade, country-style food. Heart and flavorful, I left full and happy. George, the owner, is as kind as his food is delicious and I highly recommend the Kharcho and Cake Mimino!

A corner restaurant, almost a hidden jewel in Kensington High Street on the corner with Alan st. Blink - and you missed it. Traditional Georgian cuisine, decor and atmosphere. We opened with a shot of CHACHA and Latvian beer. Khachapuri, Khinkaly, lamb shish and plenty of Georgian mezze. Delicious, friendly service, fun music in the background... Go there with a big group and enjoy your evening

Third time visiting and more to come. I fell in love with Georgian food way back when I was living in Tbilisi. Mimino’s food brings me back pleasant memories. So far I have tried their khinkali, khachapuri, lobiani and mtsvadi. They don’t sell lobiani anymore although. Khinkali is my favorite, the mtsvadi however, was not enough roasted. The service is attentive and nice. Prices are not bad.

Georgian food is delicious. Persons writes negative feedbacks about Mimino don’t know what they want. I think they simply have negative personality. Staff weren’t rood , food is good. Lovely atmosphere and good quality wine. Price is absolutely normal for Kensington restaurant. And of course fresh food takes time for preparing. Thanks for all staff we we’re enjoyed yesterday in your restaurant.

Amazing food and wine. It’s very authentic. The staff is also very nice.

Average restaurant experience and slightly overpriced. The restaurant interior feels like a столовая (canteen), service was fine (however there is a lady who is definitely more friendly and engaging). Food was served relatively fast. Chicken Шашлык (kebab) felt like was cooked one hour earlier and kept warm (lacked in moist and tenderness), however the khachapyri was delicious. I am leaving this experience based on Georgian restaurants I tried around Europe and CIS countries.

Great place, fantastic Georgian food! Would highly recommend! The interior is very authentic, the food is extremely tasty, and although there aren't many dishes on the menu, all of those that we've tried tasted absolutely delicious. We are definitely coming back and bringing more friends with us :)

It was my first time in Georgian restaurant and I've been amazed by the quality of the recipes and the wine! The staff was super friendly, moreover the owner even offered us some free drinks at the end of our dinner! Definitely a place to go if you want to experience an homely Georgian restaurant !

I fell in love with Georgian food when I lived in Russia and have been craving it ever since.... I have tried various Georgian restaurants elsewhere in the world, from Los Angeles to London, and, in my humble opinion, this is the very best that I have had.
My wife and I came here on the 25th June 2019 and were greeted by the owner who comes from Batumi in Adjaria and he was a gracious host: we had free vodka and bread and the owner was more than happy to chat about Georgia, food, life in London, Georgian history and politics, Georgia football players etc. The highlight, however, was the food: the mixed meze were, to a helping, delightful, the Chadjipuri tasted just like I remembered it when I first tried it in Moscow, and the dumplings were so good that we ordered more and brought them home....! The Georgia semi-sweet wine was wonderful and, according to the Vivino app, very competitively priced.
We loved our visit, will come back, and highly recommend it.

Great place, fantastic service, incredible food

Room is underground and gloomy. Service is slow and not particularly polite.
The food was delicious, but the overall experience is not reflected in the pricing. Expected better service and a better venue for the prices they are asking for.
Edit: If you need evidence of what is wrong with this place, just look at how the owner responds to negative reviews.

The restaurant is in a cellar near Kensington Street. Looks well worn.
The food was delicious. But having eaten Georgian Khachapuri in Tbilisi, the one here didn't really live upto my expectations. The food seemed to have been customised to London taste.
Overall, a nice experience of eating Georgian food outside of Georgia after a long time.
I. R.
Amazing place! All food we tried was fresh and very tasty. Lovely tranquil and relaxed atmosphere. Owner seems to be a nice man who cares. Got almost immediate reply to table booking. Not long wait for our dishes to be prepared too. Would love to come back
C. L.
Loved the food, especially starters. Obviously not fine dining but we thought it was amazing and were very pleasantly surprised given ratings we saw. We'll be back! Wine list is amusing, all Georgian, we went with "superb" and it was good :-)

We had a very nice meal at Mimino on a quiet Wednesday evening. The food was excellent, especially the Khinkali dumplings, and we enjoyed the complimentary vodka!
Minus one star because they didn't have any shashlik grill available.
Reasonably priced for High St Ken, would go back
L. C.
Delicious Food and nice Ambiente. Price is ok for London.
K. J.
A hidden gem as someone else wrote too. It's a place for homely, cozy food - don't know or care if it was authentic Georgian or not! The dumplings with mashed potato (etc) fillings might demand some acquired taste (I'm not a fan!), so maybe order only a few of them to start with. Everything else was top notch.
G. L.
Great place. Fantastic authentic georgian food AND WINES!! Perfect for dinner or for lunch. Not good if you are in a hurry as you simply can't stop eating. :) Luckily the menu is not too big, they do really well what they specialise at. Friendly and caring staff. And did I mention fantastic food?
L. O.
I previously lived in Georgia for a couple of years and I have to say that the food tastes pretty much same as in Georgia. The place looks nice and I like the way it's decorated. We had lobiani as a starter, which was not bad even though I was expecting a lobiani much more similar to the one I've eaten all way back in Georgia. For the mains we had mtsvadi and khinkali. I have to say that we loved the khinkali (meat dumplings). They were excellent. However, the pork mtsvadi (roasted meat) was not roasted well. Overall, everything was okay.. just a little bit overpriced for two people. Our final bill was £56 with service charge included.

By far the best Georgian Restaurant in London!
Everything is simply amazing, starting from the food and finishing with atmosphere and staff.
In terms of food, my strong recommendation would be BADRIJANI, MTSVADI (SHASHLIK) and ADJARUL. Everything tastes so fresh and pure, and some of the key ingredients actually brought from Georgia and not replaced by local ones like in some other Georgian restaurants that I’ve been in London.
Also, the owner of the Restaurant is simply a legend! Cares about every customer!
As an example: one of our KHINKALI which we ordered got broken, and it would of taken too long to make a whole new one, so instead he came to our table, apologized that there were 6 KHINKALIS and not 7, and gave us complimentary glass of wine!
Later on, we had an amazing chat with him, which just proved that there is such a homely atmosphere!
Basically, it’s a must go restaurant, even if you are not a fan of Georgian food, you’ve got at least to give a go, and Mimino might change your view!
P.s there was also a Spartak Moscow cap, which owner brought out and showed to me, which completely melted my heart! :)
S. Z.
Wonderful Georgian restaurant. I loved the wines and their free vodka shot was some of the smoothest vodka I've ever tried. I honestly didn't realize vodka could taste good before this.
It was too easy to over order though. We had 3 people, ordered khachapuri, lobiani, and 9 dumplings, which was too much food. We had to pack some for leftovers. My favorite was the lobiani, the bread was crispy and the beans were surprisingly flavorful.
The potato dumplings had great skin, though the skin around the top knot was a bit thick. I saw some of the meat dumplings and they reminded me of huge Chinese soup dumplings (want to try them next time).
The khachapuri adjaruli was great as well, super soft bread and yolky egg.

The best and my favorite Georgian Restaurant in London !!!
Awesome food (пальчики оближешь), nice staff.
Quite, nice and romantic. I really love this place!!
I’ll recommend this place for everyone!

Nice food, excellent wine

I really enjoyed dinner here. I had a lamb entree. The food is reminiscent of Greek style food but obviously with a different twist. The service was good and the ambiance was enjoyable. I recommend it.

This is our new favourite restaurant! The food is excellent - we were in St Petersburg recently and experienced Georgian cuisine and loved it...we Love Mimino's even more. And the wine is fantastic ! Service is excellent and friendly.
P. T.
I was pleased to get out of the blistering heat of the street into the cool calm of Mimino. I had the small set menu with a glass of saperavi. The beef / lamb khinkali were excellent and the khachapuri brought back memories of Georgia 🇬🇪 Good value for London prices and good authentic quality too.
D. C.
Everything was excellent, looking already forward to the next time..спасибо
H. G.
Food was of decency, an average introduction to Georgian cuisine, the eat-in area was a bit off putting and made me uneasy... some strange furniture. Nevertheless, I might've judged too fast, as I did end up satisfied with my food.
T. W.
I like this place. I have been several times, the food is always good quality, but the menu is not very big, so I usually order what I had last time. Service can be a little hit & miss. Usually plenty of staff standing around chatting to each other, rather than waiting on tables. Don't let that put you off going and be sure to order the Lavash (bread) it's excellent!
a. d.
Delicious imeruli khachapuri and badrijani!
S. B.
The service is quite rude, the food is ok, the place itself is super weird in terms of decor, like it’s stuck in the 80s. There are better options for Georgian food in London.
N. K.
Good food, yet very bad service. Won't be coming back just because of the service - we got our mains 20 minutes apart, it was very difficult to get the waiters' attention, if you needed sth, although the place was half empty.
S. Y.
Owner - Legend.
Food - Great and autehntic.
Atmosphere - Family feeling.
Great choice of whiskey and very generous overall! See you soin

Thanks a lot to the restaurant crew for a wonderful evening! The Georgian food is perfect, especially dolma and hinkali. Separately thanks for the Kindzmarauli wine! Highly recommended!

It was my first time in Georgian restaurant and I didn't eat anything, the food was not for my taste.

Food is authentic and delicious though very limited menu as well as very old place requiring refurbishment. Will come back for food anyway

Amazing, authentic food, which is a pleasant surprise in London. The owner is very friendly as well, and the space has some of those European luxuries you miss in the UK, like nicely painted walls. Would recommend 100%.

(Translated) We were very glad that we found this place, and it was 5 minutes from our apartment.
The restaurant is very small but cozy. Khinkali, barbecue, khachapuri, wine - everything is fine!
There is a children's corner (1 sq.m, but with a ton of toys).

(Translated) Simple menu with dishes that are just fine.
Apparently they were about to close when we arrived and they gave us food without problems, very much appreciated especially on Christmas Eve when almost everything was closed.

Carta sencilla con platos que están bien sin más.
Al parecer estaban a punto de cerrar cuando llegamos y nos dieron de comer sin problemas, muy de agradecer especialmente la noche de nochebuena estando casi todo cerrado.
