Reviews of Moi Moi Island
M. H.
Undoubtedly Moi Moi Island is one of the best for Jamaican and West African Staple Food! A must try for your taste buds! 😋 😋 😋 And food is Halal!
Absolutely delicious food! Tried their Chicken Suya for a very first time and it was lush - a balanced spices with punch of hot chillies! It is not for those who likes less than mild hot chillies! 🌶 🌶 🌶! Portion size was good!
Agoyin Chicken Wings were hot, crunchy and yummy! Each wing was of good size!
Service was fast! It is more catered for takeaways than dining in. But they do have few tables with chairs inside and few tables outside!
Staff was welcoming, friendly and helpful! But staff needs to focus on the customer when serving instead of tapping the buttons and looking at the mobile phone - I briefly puzzled and thought whether he was taking order on the phone 🤔 😡! But he won me over by his helpfulness towards the end of my visit. Other than that, it was a very pleasant experience!

The food is absolutely fine, spiciness is proper. It took a little longer than expected to prepare however, it was definitely worth every minute of wait. We also met the main founder of the restaurant and he was a great guy and very welcoming...

Beyond amazing every single time - legendary flavours, satisfying portions, and so much love. Food so good it’s sure to make you smile!

First time visiting this place . Carrie an African fusion cuisine. Food was good , nice flavours . We had the chicken suya and oxtail which was nice and flavoursome .

Good portion sizes and price is decent. However some food was slightly under-cooked. Service was fine, despite only 1 person serving. Nice place to try but probably wouldn't go again soon.

Whoever pass by should try it!!!! Had oxtail bowl, oxtail was perfectly tendered even the bone were enjoyable. Fried plantain was new to me, three is totally not enough!!! And I seldom have rice but this time I finished all they tasted so different with gravy. But I do think I should ask for more salad instead of rice.. anyway definitely will come back!!

Great take out spot! Suya beef plate with a mix of everything really hit home for me.
You can find various things here that tickle your fancy! From wings to fully loaded wraps.
The takeout plates are the ones to go for since you get a good mix of flavours from plantain, oxtail, jallof rice, salad and more.
Can’t recommend enough. Will definitely be returning regularly!

The absolute best curried lamb I've ever had from anywhere!
The flavour is just AMAZINGGGGG!
the meat is cooked to perfection!
The BEST carrabian shop in LONDON!

Generous portions. Curry goat and Oxtail are cooked to perfection. Flavoursome, tender fall off the bone meat. Amazing.

The Suya Steak was delicious, so was the jollof. Wish I had ordered more plantain! Packaging was lovely too. There’s not many West African takeaways in this area so a place like Moi Moi is nice to see (pics do not it justice!)

Food was okay
Floor and table were sticky

Customer service was absolutely fantastic- ensured my allergy wasn’t an issue with the dish I ordered and even gave me options and modified it for me! Rly nice staffs decent portion for the large, wish they had more vegetarian options like eggplant but that’s ok. Will definitely return for another dinner!

The guy taking our orders was quite rude and the food was disappointingly without heart. I was embarrassed that my friend had to experience that after raving to her about the good experience I had the first two times I was here.
We had suya chicken and jerk chicken.

Ordered a delivery after seeing a recommendation online, and wasn’t disappointed. Best oxtail I’ve had in a long time, looking forward to trying the rest of the menu - especially the jerk and suya.

Amazing. My first time trying West African food and it was phenomenal. Although the restaurant next door is closed for renovations, we were still able to sit outside Moi Moi. The staff member was friendly and helpful, the Suya was beautiful and the wings are a lovely side addition to any meal. Afterwards we went to Mamasons dirty ice-cream parlour which has the same owner. It's just a few feet away from Moi Moi and is definitely worth visiting. Unique flavours, wonderful pastries and great branding overall. Loved it!

Where has food like this been all my life. Seriously good. Will definitely come back for more

I had the suya steak bowl with waffle fries . It was really nice had a nice kick to it not to spicy 😊

Ate at Moi Moi yesterday while randomly walking past looking for food. The host was super friendly and suggested a vegan bowl for us to try - it was the first time I had eaten west African food (which turns out to be similar in profile to my native cuisine - Indian). Loved the combination and level of spiciness. I ended up cleaning up the plate and can't wait to try the jerk chicken or curry goat or other things on the menu.

Best Caribbean and Nigerian takeaway food I've ever had!! Generous portions, 12/10 taste every time, quick service, no hassle, can't recommend enough.

Delicious street Carribean food. Mouthwatering rice and plantain with Jerk chicken was amazing for me. Fries were also to a great standard.

Ordered from Deliveroo best Caribbean food I have eaten in a long time!

A great experience. The sandwiches had the right level of sauce and flavour. Perfectly wrapped and toasted. Had a kick to it that I didn’t even need to add hot sauce. The fries came with diced onions and two sorts of dips. The wings were nice and spicy too. The oxtail stew was good, salad dressing as well. Malt drinks were really good also, not the usual supermalt harshness. The customer service was great, very helpful and cheery staff. Jollof rice was great also, very important! Importantly halal as well.

Best Carribean/ west African food in London. The food is spiced to perfection. I usually get the suya chicken and love the jerk chicken as well. The sauce is spicy and flavorful and the food is prepared quickly. I take a lot of people here and they all like the food!

Doesn’t taste like authentic Jamaican food and the macaroni and cheese was made with penne and pretty bland
T. M.
Food was really decent but the attitude of the guy serving was mad! Maybe he just had a bad day but it was like he didn't want our custom. He was also rude to the girl who came in after us purely because she asked for a dish without rice. Need to fix up cos not everyone will accept that level of customer service. I may come back one day, if I want some curry goat with a side of aggro 😅

The small plates are perfectly proportioned meals for two adults who have just spent a full-on hour in the gym. The fries and jerk gravy pushed the boundaries of our appetites but were so delicious we made it through to empty plates. Beautifully spicy jerk chicken and the beef was so good seemingly I wasn't offered a taste by my husband. Moi Moi is going to become our regular after-gym deliveroo! We would need to work out a lot harder I'm sure to justify anything larger than the generous "small". Great addition to Kentish Town eating. Well done!!

DELICIOUS! Our first delivery from Moi and wow, I definitely recommend. Spicy jerk chicken, adobo chicken wings and naija fries were so good!! We ordered extra plantain too 👌🏼 worth every penny.
P. S.
Amazing food, tasted great like home made cooking. They forgot to add the meat in my dish (apparently it was a hectic day, no worries) but still it was great.
T. S.
Had a very pleasant customer service experience talking to the chef and the manager Ali regarding a party order.
Food is delicious!!
Thanks guys, keep up the good work!
D.
Very nice food. Had the spicy jerk, rice salad and plantain. Reasonably priced.
B.
One of the best Caribbean food of London , my favourites are jerk chicken with plantain, lamb curry and mac & cheese. Tender, flavoured, delicious dishes.
C. D.
Food was lovely but i don't get why they had to cut up my chicken as if they were going to feed a child 😐
H. M.
Really delicious, if a little pricey! Would recommend. Had the jerk chicken, it was awesome.
T. T.
Palate-tastic! Nice spicy choices to whet your appetite.😋

Excellent welcome and hosting whilst on the premises.
Prompt service but most importantly delicious food with very generous portions.
