Reviews of No. Fifty Cheyne

Absolutely stunning Sunday lunch, I'm still dreaming about it a week later. Very probably the finest Sunday roast I've ever eaten. Fantastic service from Dario and Federica. Wonderful cocktails and mocktails and a great wine list. I can't wait to go back

Loved our visit here on a busy Saturday brunch service. The food was excellent - this is clearly a place that does classics really well. You can tell that from the hollandaise sauce. Staff were so lovely and super helpful. We didn't feel rushed despite it being a busy service. The interiors are beautiful and really elegant and it's also a great place for people watching thanks to the eclectic crowd. Will definitely be back to try the beef wellington. Spotted this on another table and it looked WOW! 👌
M. R.
Had a stunning roast dinner here - every part of it was delicious, even the roast potatoes were crispy which you don’t often get when out. Portion size was very decent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Will be visiting again.

It was a good surprise to find this wonderful restaurant at Chelsea, near the river. The menu has a perfect offer, a lot of variety and high quality. Also the drinks menu has unique beers from Germany that I loved. The prices are medium-high but the value for money is perfect, it is well worth it.
The service & the staff is very professional and good, the atmosphere inside is also very good.

High-end comfort food is the order of the day at this colourfully painted former pub close to the Thames. Dining takes place in an elegant, high-ceilinged room festooned with flowers, art and chandeliers; head upstairs for cocktails in the plush deep red cocktail bar or the country house style drawing room.

Beautiful restaurant - inside and out - with super friendly service. Food is rather too complicated/unbalanced/extras overwhelm the main item e.g. masses of pesto, tomato essence, cheese etc overwhelm delicate cod, delicate carpaccio, scallops. Maybe best to eat steak/meat here instead (but £35 for naked) grilled on great open hearth

Honestly, I can’t find a single fault for 50 Cheyne. Chef Iain is an absolute genius and runs the place impeccably. His team are like family - charming, attentive, happy and look like they love their work. From the moment you walk in the door, until you leave, the experience is incredible. And the food…we have never sent a plate back with even a morsel on it.
Every visit feels like home.
Best Sunday Roast in London, hands down. Thank you 🙏🏽

Sensational!!!!!!!. I celebrated my 12th wedding Anniversary at this restaurant and the experience was absolutely marvellous from the time me and my beautiful wife entered and left. The service was impeccable!!!!! we were welcome with warm smiles on entry by all of the staff, customer service was second to none, the atmosphere was beautiful ,we were catered to exceptionally well my wife couldn't have been more happier which made the experience for me even better .
On to the food!!, the starters ,mains ,deserts, drinks all were captivating !!and truly amazing to behold!! i will give that a fat 10 out of 10 !!! such exquisite taste!!!!. I must take my hat off to the head chef whom I believe is Lain Smith and to the restaurateur who have given me and my beautiful wife the most lovely and memorable 12th anniversary and if i may add .Mr Smith took it upon himself to surprise us with a lovely desert which I have added to my review once again team 50!!!! thank you for incredible evening.

Went on a Friday night and had a lovely welcome into the restaurant and good service throughout. The food was generally nice but I felt the mains were a bit complicated and unbalanced with a large portion of very rich and salty ragu served with the delicate pork loin. However the scallop starter was delicious and soufflé dessert very moreish.
Truly dog friendly (staff make a fuss) which is a real bonus and will bring us back, probably for a Sunday roast next time.
P. T.
We celebrated my wife's birthday with a delightful dinner for six. From the moment we arrived we were well looked after and everyone had a fine meal. Even when we had a corked bottle of wine - there was no fuss - it was simply replaced.
An excellent venue for a wonderful meal.

Best fish and steak on fire... great wine.. romantic 🤗 this was two years ago... we went back today, after great difficulty due to the petrol ⛽ saga.. really looking forward to our Sunday Roast.. I must say they have the best.. the food is always amazing.. the Executive Chef a delight, the waitress sweet.. sadly the manager and the receptionist.. rude confrontational to the point they spoilt the whole effort we had made to get there...
I would have thought covid had taught us to be kind and patient ... someone should tell people in the service industry ... they have their jobs because of us who go and spend our hard earned money to enjoy ourselves...!!
Food was amazing 👏

My first time at No.50 and it was unbelievable! The staff, food and decor are amazing and it’s a hidden gem in London. 100% go back, 100% recommend. Keep up the good work and refreshing to see a great restaurant in Chelsea ticking all the boxes.
B. M.
One of the finest restaurants for classic fare and lovely atmosphere.
C. F.
Perfect place with amazing food and cocktails as you’d expect.
The one thing that makes this place stand out from the crowd has to be the amazing staff. I’ve literally found myself raving about the staff for the last 3 days. A big thank you to Charlie and the young lady behind the bar on Sunday afternoon, you where literally both the highlight of our day, so friendly and professionally but both absolutely lovely to talk to and you both really made our experience one to remember.
Food is 5 star, cocktails 5 star and the staff are 6 star!
We can’t wait to return, thank you all so much for such an enjoyable afternoon.
C. D.
We love what they've done to the interiors, stylish yet warm. Could spend hours here, the food is outstanding, as is the service. Attentive without being intrusive, they strike the perfect balance. Love it here and will be returning soon.

Newly opened No Fifty Cheyne is a brasseire in Chelsea serving British dishes with the addition of an open grill for diners to enjoy. The setting is sophisticated and elegant making it feel quite special.
The cocktail list is creative and has twists to classics available. We tried the Make tequila great again (£11) with cacao infused ocho tequila, honey water, amaro montenegro, teapot bitters and ginger ale. Our second choice was the Pavillion sour £11 with absolut elyx, Pierre Ferand ry curacao, lillet rose, cranberry, lemon, scented with roja dove enigma pour homme. Both were incredibly light and crisp in taste and simply yet elegantly presented.
We started with the Seared scallop with bacon jam, cep mushroom and asparagus sauce £19.50. Staff were incredibly easygoing about accommodating a change to this dish to remove the meat and it was a delicious light starter. Equally impressive was the green bean and artichoke salad with truffle vinaigrette, almonds and popped quinoa (£10.50). We loved the pops of flavour and texture and would certainly order this again.
We opted for the fish choices and tried the Fillet of hake with peas and broad beans, white wine and peppercorn sauce (£24.50). We also sampled the halibut, soft leeks and courgette with lobster bisque (£32). Both were incredibly well cooked; flaky and tender with rich flavourful sauces. The lobster bisque in particular was a real highlight.
We devoured the Creme Brulee (£9). It was lovely and creamy with a satisfyingly crackly top to break through. The Hot chocolate fondant with salted caramel sauce (£11.50) was also well received. Each component was steeped in rich flavour, the passion fruit ice cream was gorgeously fruity and the fondant lovely and rich. The two flavours were not the most natural pairing but we still enjoyed the dish.
No Fifty Cheyne is an exquisite brasserie in Chelsea. From the service to the beautiful floral decor, intimate space, sumptuous furniture and wonderfully crafted dishes, it was wonderful.
The ingredients are of the finest quality and the emphasis on dining here being a real experience is evident from the level of service and the open grill coming to life in the midst of the dining room. We appreciated the level of attention to detail here and it is absolutely a great treat for a special occasion given the price tag. There is a beautiful cocktail bar upstairs perfect for a drink also should you wish to check out the space.

Love this place. Best roast potatoes ever had. Great and very attentive staff. Lovely ambience.
Highly recommend for Sunday Lunch and to get an earlier sitting rather than later!
D. S.
This is now London's premier Sunday lunch place. Incredible meal can't praise it enough. And as my Fiancee will testify the best sticky toffee pudding she's ever had! Cancel your other reservations and come here !
A. G.
Superb service, superb food in a great ambience. The roast beef was superb as was everything else one plate. One of the best Sunday lunches I've had in along time. Heartily recommend.
c. c.
my local resto ! wonderful every time - makes you feel so welcome and part of the family - nothing is too much trouble for them - very professional service - always been able to find me a table even on the busiest of nights - perfect for business lunches or family evenings - the quality and choice of food and wine is special - always looking forward to my next visit -

Great new dont-break-my-budget afternoon in town.. The scones at Fifty Cheyne Afternoon Tea; fresh, warm, flakey and soft - just like they should be .With pastries including lemon meringue tart, strawberry n’ cream Eton Mess, chocolate brownie and fruit salad. A range of vegetarian and fish open sandwiches were included. If you’re a meat lover, you’ll definitely be missing your coronation chicken .The tea was served in colourful and delicate china, which you could enjoy on one of their comfy couches. However, the selection of tea was limited and loose tea/ strainer was not provided to brew to taste. Overall, 50 Cheyne's Afternoon Tea gives you bang for your buck, some great, fresh food at a reasonable price, but the tea selection could definitely up its game .

I haven't been to the restaurant before the new decoration, so I can't compare. The newly decorated place was cosy, and they played some very nice music at the background. Food was good.

Amazing food and wine is exceptional 🥰
m. z.
Absolutely wonderful. The food is divine. The team are so charming. Bliss!
M. D.
I've always wanted to go here to 'press for champagne 🍾 '
A. K.
We definitely will come back. The food is very tasty and looks fantastic at the plate. We ate the special of the day, Ravioli filled with crab meat and spinach/ricotta cheese. The wine list is also very good. Prices are in higher region but reasonable for the quality.
R. B.
Ranks with the best, fabulous food and exceptional service. A real gem of a restaurant. If we had to pick one thing that lifts this restaurant into the five star category it is the genuine warmth of the staff.
E.
Bit expensive for what it is. Needed gluten free, so they just took the items that contained gluten out of my dish without subbing them for something else which made for a pretty sad roast. Edit apparently has GF substitutes, I was not offered these. Ensure to ask!
C. C.
Loved the ambience and the food tasted amazing as were the cocktails. However, we were not happy about the service charge and an extra cover charge of £2 per head which then had service added onto that ! This is taking the mickey as the food is very expensive for what you get despite tasting good. I think this needs reviewing plus we also had an extra drink added to the bill that no one had,.
Update. Thank you for your thoughtful reply , 50 Cheyne. Someone else was dealing with the bill and we were all paying her so she said it was a cover change with the service added, we then went along with her decision to ask for it to be removed but it was not mentioned that this was for hygiene necessities so this was a misunderstanding The added drink was, as you say , an accident However, as I said , the food was wonderful . I would certainly go back to you another time
E. A.
Very difficult to convey in words how much of a gem this place is. The menu is always very interesting and the atmosphere is very cozy.

Just had one of the best Sunday dinners, on a Saturday night, I’ve had. Made especially special since we are now “Plant Based” in our diet. Amazing food delivered directly at the right temperature and all in beautiful order. Thank you so much No 50 ! You have set the bar very high and we can’t wait to eat in your restaurant once it reopens.
C. F.
My wife and I had a fantastic time, the food and service was faultless, definitely going back again, just a lovely place, atmosphere was so relaxing and buzzing at the same time,
N. D.
The food was fantastic, a perfectly cooked sirloin steak, cooked on the grill which was visible from our table, which was one of the best I've had, as well as superb sides. The service was a let down for me, which for the price (pretty expensive, especially the wine list) was slightly poorer than expected. Random stuff like we had to ask for napkins, dishes given to the wrong people etc. small things, but not great when you're looking for a special experience at a good restaurant
P. C.
What a gorgeous place! Staff are extremely friendly and attentive ! They even allowed us to have our dog. So nice to find dog friendly fine dining in london. Every inch of the building is beautifully designed and the food was probably the best I have tasted all year. I recommend the lamb 👌 compliments to the chef you can tell the food is made with love.
S. N.
Very nice neighborhood fancy restaurant. Well behaved dogs are allowed. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and efficient. Food was excellent. Great time.
H. M.
I was keen to try this restaurant having had excellent finish at home food delivered during lockdown. We dined upstairs in a pleasant, bright and airy room. The grilled wild sea bass was fresh and well cooked and others enjoyed roasts.
I was not paying, however I was shocked by the prices and cannot understand how these are justified. Roast beef on a Sunday is c.£35 which is £10-15 more than excellent roasts elsewhere in Chelsea such as The Hunter’s Moon and Hawksmoor. I also could not understand how a 250g rib eye steak can be 70% more expensive by weight than Hawksmoor. The host was also charged a per person cover charge yet there was no bread or olives or petit fours with coffee so I do not know what this was for.
I am fully supportive of the industry, particularly in these times, and there is a time and a place for fine dining prices, but I didn’t feel this smart gastropub style restaurant represented good value. Having said this, the restaurant was full so others didn’t seem to mind.
J. C.
Beautiful. Such great Sunday lunches and friendly staff.
A. B.
Amazing food, lovely staff. Restaurant itself is very beautiful. Only slight issues were a long wait for a whiskey list (made up for by some free dessert) and no hand cream in the ladies bathroom- might be a nice addition! Otherwise couldn’t fault food or service and would definitely come back
D. K.
The eggs royal are ridiculously good
H. O.
Perfect in all respects...service, food quality and pricing. First dinner out since lockdown, great place to enjoy a return to eating out
P. V.
My wife organized a birthday party for me here and it was a wonderful evening. We had dinner downstairs and everything was delicious. We then went upstairs to a cozy room with a fireplace. The setting was charming and the staff exceptionally kind and attentive. We will certainly be back.
C. O.
This really is a neighbourhood gem. We went for a special occasion and they really made it feel like that without being stuffy. Very friendly staff and rhe food is absolutely excellent, we had smoked salmon starter and scallops. Both were divine, the chablis too was excellent and reasonably priced (for an upscale restaurant). We had a surprise extra course the chef had prepared which was artichoke heart sou, again very good. The mains of ox cheex were superb, the sauce was so good it was hard not to lick the plate. A bottle of Brunello (ok not cheap) but a great example of this tuscan wine. We maitre'd and staff were wonderfully friendly and left us alone unhurried to enjoy our evening unless we needed them. What a great place.
N. S.
Very friendly service - very average food. Sunday lunch - issues with every dish - just not anywhere near the standards of the Old Brasserie. A sliced streak is not a Sunday roast - roast potatoes need to be hot, crisp and fluffy (yours are none of those).
A. I.
Excellent service. Really nice setting for a Sunday lunch. Very diverse menu. One of the best Sunday lunches in London
R. L.
I'd give it 6 stars if I could! Afternoon tea was exquisite, served in a stylish drawing room overlooking the Thames. Fantastic service, faultless food and beautiful venue. Skip the well known venues for high tea and come to this local. You won't be disappointed.
A.
Excellent food with a good atmosphere.
Wine list could be a little better, but I’m sure this will develop in time. Fairly small selection by the glass - perhaps adding a Corovin option would allow greater diversity.
T. M.
I was invited for afternoon tea where we went upstairs, passing a small bar to a beautiful drawing room with a open (unlit) fireplace adorned with Christmas decorations & room full of chandaliers. The food had the most amazing flavours to tingle your tastebuds all very fresh & original. Each layer of cake stand was introduced & explained by the waiting staff. We both had our dogs with us too which staff were happy to accommodate with bowls of water & a few dog biscuits. A lovely experience to have as a real treat. Outside (as it's winter) we could see through the trees Albert Bridge lit, so really a feast for the senses in every way. The waiting staff all very friendly & happy to oblige to make occasion memorable. Thank you everyone at No Fifty Cheyne.
E. C.
Amazing restaurant service was top notch and so was the food. Seafood linguine was delicious as was the cod and steak
Looking forward to coming back
L. K.
It was a pleasure to have a lunch at your place. Everything perfectly cooked and prepared with great care. Friendly service and great interior styling. Anyone having a lunch or dinner with a flowery touch while visiting Chelsea (not have to be in the area often but I'll definitely make a detour next time in town)
M. S.
Visited no.Fifty Cheyne last night for my birthday meal, from the moment you step into the restaurant there is an atmosphere of friendliness and class. The food is delicious and worth the visit. I had a great time and highly recommend it. Ten out of ten from me!
T. R.
Outstanding: Head Chef has a well thought out menu, executed perfectly. The front of house exemplifies brilliance. Make sure you have a pre-dinner drink upstairs, it’s like being at a private Club, fire roaring in a living room overlooking the Thames. This is the London restaurant to beat.
E. H.
The food, service and decor was very good. Decor looked very "Tiffany blue" with a warm open grill where we could see the chef prepare our meals. Upstairs has a lovely view of the River Thames, apparently. It was a birthday dinner - my husband was recommended the veal chops and I had the duck. Both were delicious, in the French bistro style. We were also presented with creme brulee, on the house, to celebrate.
R. M.
Very nice decor amazing view out on to the Thames friendly service and great food.
S. T.
Absolutely incredible experience, the service, food and drinks were all spot on and we had a lovely time. You never feel rushed as you’re presented with some of the best food London has to offer. I’d highly recommend trying this place! 🍷🍸🍽
B. P.
It is a pleasure to find a restaurant that can offer a wonderful ambience, service and food.
Being vegetarian, generally restaurants are lacking in high quality dishes, but I was very impressed with the presentation, quality and flavour.
I would highly recommend this restaurant.
S. W.
From the moment I walked into no. Fifty Cheyne I knew we were set for a fantastic evening...however, we simply couldn’t have been sufficiently prepared for the spectacular evening that lay in front of us.
Everything from the warmth, knowledge and professionalism of the staff, maître d', in particular our waiter, Charlie, through to the ambiance of the venue and the exquisite food and wine.
Our evening continued upstairs in the delightful, elegant and very comfortable lounge, where we were treated like VIP’s by Will...and then a completely overwhelming and unexpected treat, as the staff had discovered it was birthday, delivered me a birthday soufflé along to a rendition of ‘happy birthday’.
The evening was rounded off by the very talented and young head chef, Ian Smith, giving up his time to introduce himself and talk with us at length. I couldn’t have had a better experience if I’d tried. Everything was simply exceptional and I simply can’t recommend no. Fifty Cheyne enough. Our party of 5, are all in accord. Thank you to everyone, particularly Will, Charlie and Ian.
P. C.
This friendly, French restaurant is the perfect rest stop after an evening stroll along the river. Take in the lights of the Albert Bridge then enjoy fine food, great wine and fantastic service. Ask for a good table and the staff will do their best to accommodate you.
J. S.
My girlfriend and I got engaged by Albert Bridge and then came here for some cocktails afterwards. The venue and cocktails are excellent, but what really set it apart was the staff, particularly the Manager, Benoit, went out of their way to make sure we had a very special night. We will definetly be back for a meal in the restaurant.
C. W.
Impressive menu of french inspired food, fish from the wood fired grill great. Dishes sometimes poorly executed though, service not as good as we would have expected given the price of the dishes. Glad I went, not rushing back.
B. I.
Beautiful restaurant. The food and wine were wonderful, and the general ambiance was very nice.
There's a nice small bar and lounge area in the upper level.
A. L.
Food was amazing, really delicious combinations with a very interesting menu. The bar upstairs is a great place to watch the world go by and enjoy one of their cocktails - highly recommended.
R. H.
The food was really good, not perfect though... I did not like the Decor, but there are probably lots of people who like the style, so there is no reason for rating it down. A downside is the staff with pretty sub-par wine recommendations.
c. w.
Brilliant restaurant.
Good service and good mood.
Relax
F. M.
The food was OK. I didn't find anything especially elaborate but the stake was good. The main issue was with the service as I had to wait quite a while before someone came to take my order only to realise I was not given the lunch menu. I was also brought the bill without asking if I'd like a dessert or a coffee. All in all a quite average experience.
C. V.
Such a wonderful restaurant, lovely people, amazing food and excellent wine list.
The perfect choice for our first meal post lockdown
T. L. B.
My rating is specifically for the sticky toffee pudding which is out of this world. It was available despite not being on the menu so always worth asking just in case!
D. N.
Epic food. Great service. Nice ambiance. Upstairs you can’t beat if you want to hire for a private event. If it’s good enough for the Stones, well then...
E. 0.
I don’t say this often but it was bloody delicious!

Nice spot, we enjoyed our lunch here. Management: Please replace your plastic straws with paper ones. I am sure your customers would prefer this.

Very friendly staff, and loved the food. A very unique atmosphere for a Chelsea restaurant.
I'd happily advice anyone to try the Cheyne Walk Brasserie experience, definitely worth it.
B. D.
The food is delicious and I felt very safe eating there. The staff wore masks and were really nice.
J. S.
Friendly staff, nice setting. Have been here a few times. I think it's pretty expensive for what it is to be honest but the food is good. Nice venue for a special occasion.

This must be the greatest new addition to our neighbourhood. Incredibly tasty food, excellent service and ambiance. Happy to see 50 Cheyne open - we will be back.
W. W.
Satisfying, indulgent cuisine served in an elegant dining room by attentive, unpretentious staff. Every visit is a pleasure
A. L.
And wonderful restaurant with amazing ambience and excellent food. Main courses seem to more sophisticated than the starters but the wine list never disappoints.
L. B.
The place is very trendy and stylish, but the prices are just insane. I mean, it's really expensive for the quality of the food and the service. No, they are not bad, I can say even that both the quality and the service are good, but they definitely don't value these prices.
D. T.
Amazing food and staff. Would definitely recommend. Could not fault anything. Such a lovely evening
E. B.
An outstanding hidden restaurant within Chelsea. Their bar upstairs must be the coziest spot in london.
