Reviews of Pantechnicon
D. B.
The juice selections were amazing with the orange and sea buckthorn being really good. My personal highlight was the salted miso caramel brioche. The maple cured bacon was amongst the best I’ve ever had.
As this was a birthday brunch the birthday cake was a very nice surprise at the end!
J. A.
Gorgeous space and very interesting menu. I had the honey and fennel bread with lingonberry butter as a starter and it tasted amazing. They also have a nice selection of mock tails and cocktails and the food was very well presented.
S. V.
It is an expensive place, but the overall experience is worth the price in my opinion.
The mix of Northern and Japanese food seems to be working quite well.
Rooftop is really enjoyable on a sunny day
G. A.
Very cool Nordics restaurant with a great food experience. The starter bread with Honey butter is a must try. All dishes with different to what we were used to, but definitely delicious and tasty.
Service was great and wine pairing was great. A good place to try new things.

Wow, that's my first reaction when I arrived to the roof terrace. From the decoration to the menu, everything is elegantly designed and creative. It is gorgeous place, the food is both tasty and original and... Somehow simple. It is an incredible mix. It is fancy and a bit on the expensive side and gosh it is so worth it. We had an amazing night and can't wait to have another great event there
N. M.
Delicious food in a cute rooftop setting (re: Eldr restaurant). Highly recommend the bread, the cod and the miso aubergine. Excellent service and great decor. Will be coming back often!
K. M.
1. Nice place for romantic drinks
2. Nice place for light tapas snack style meal (portions are rather small and pricy BUT tasty),
3. Great views when there is a sunset!
D. O.
I went for few drinks with my friend and amazed how kind all the staff was.
Smoking is allowed on the balcony. Even though somebody was complaining about that, I have to say staff handled that in the most mannered way. Well done all of you!
And the view from here.. WOW 🤩
Thank you so much for making these delicious coctails for us! Will definetely come back!
M. D.
I have to say that the design of the place is absolutely amazing. The food is really good and the service is so friendly. However, it is too overpriced for the portions.
F. M.
This place is an amazing place to check out when you in Knightsbridge. Cafe Kitsune is a Japanese French coffee house that serves delicious coffee and pastries.
They also have a shop which offers a wider selection of Nordic and Japanese inspired lifestyle products.
I did feel as if the Caucasian guy was watching me all along, which made me feel slightly uncomfortable. Nevertheless a great experience
K. I. (.
I love this place. Very cool and chic. And I think it's great to hang out and have a couple of drinks. Food wise, it's a bit of hit and miss. The portions were tiny. Feels like you're having a snack rather than a meal. And the fish was too overcooked and bland. Didn't expect that from Japanese influenced cooking.

What a place! The whole venue gives you the feeling of being in Japan and the Nordic countries, from the items sold in both stores, to the delightful Japanese and Nordic restaurant. Such a great place to spend your afternoon, have a delicious French Japanese inspired pastry and feel welcome and looked after.
A. G.
THE perfect place to while away a few hours.
Bring a lady who loves all things Japanese, Nordic or both. Relax at their bars in the care of an expert Japanese whiskey & sake sommelier.
Indulge in amazing sushi and soak up all the booze with Nordic cuisine in the stunning roof garden.
Don’t forget to bring home amazing gifts from their two Japanese/Nordic shops to remind you of the fun time you had.
Best afternoon & evening out. 👍🏻🇯🇵🇸🇪🇩🇰🇳🇴🇫🇮

V. N.
The place looks really nice, but the staff is really not attentive at all. I ordered oat milk but got regular one too, which doesn’t help the experience. Food is indeed lovely, I would definitely give a 5 stars for that. But overall experience is not only the food.
T. F.
Great food , plenty of different tastes in each bite 👌 definitely recommended rooftop on a sunny day , portions are a little bit smal though.
A. R.
Great spot for an upscale informal bite with friends or family. Recommend indoor eating if you’re in the roof restaurant in winter otherwise take your ski gear 🥶. Choice of restaurants can be confusing - headlines - roof for informal Swedish / Noridic dish’s, basement for more formal classic downtempo sushi experience. Excellent cocktails (with great clear ice) in lower ground bar. Get their early so you can explore all of the great gifts & design pieces on the other floors.
H. A.
Awesome place, especially if you need shelter from a London downpour. Unique concept mixing minimalism from Japan and Nordic influence. Nice stores on the ground floor and floor 1; there are lifts if you have a baby stroller. The top floor has a nice rooftop restaurant but we did not try it on this occasion. Will be coming back to try it soon hopefully. Lovely green plants scattered throughout the building and original architecture has been kept in most place like signs.
R. C.
Amazing spot for visiting for multiple gastronomic restaurants, coffee and even store. This building has a Nordic restaurant on the top floor, a coffee shop on the ground and an Asian one underground - all of the them with a very nice atmosphere and for the ones I’ve tried, I can tell the Nordic is so good. The coffee is very average.
N. C.
Love the place and the decor. Not too hungry so had a cheese plate only but it was really good, especially the crackers.
E. (.
Love this venue, it offers a lot of nordic and japanese products. The staff working here are very attentive and super helpful with recommendations and helping you choose the right thing. They have interesting kitchenwares and skincare products, the prices are acceptable. Upstairs they have a restaurant and a rooftop terrace with the infamous cafe kitsune on the ground floor.
K. N.
A cozy Nordic style bar with open terrace. I would recommend it for drinks 🍹 be ready that sandwiches are super pretty but really small
A. H.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Eldr in Pantechnicon. The space inside the building has been beautifully styled and designed (a highlight is the huge open kitchen where you can see the chefs at work). Our food was incredible - a delicate mix of flavours, many we had not tried before, like reindeer and birch sap syrup. There is also a great range of wines on offer and the cocktails we had were delicious too.
I have not experienced anything similar to this in London, we will be back as soon as possible to try more things from the menu!
F. G.
A must Nordic/Japanese experience when in London. Dining-drinkin-shopping-experience top-notch
B. L.
Verdict - would return: highlights in the small plates
Liked - fennel bread, scallops, cured pork smørrebrød
Disliked - n/a
Other comments - a wonderful treat to Scandinavian food, with an amazing terrace and tasteful decor
A. C.
One of the best places I have experienced!
Exceptional customer service, great attention to details, original retail store, AMAZING food, great selection of wines, swift service (without feeling rushed), all that in a Scandinavian inspired set up which makes it even more enjoyable. Another perfectly designed concept from Open House London! A MUST GO
s. m.
Excellent food, location, ambience and service.
2nd visit in a week.
A. D.
We hosted a corporate event for 100 people in the roof garden and had a great experience.
Seamless organization, personalized services and beautiful evening: Everything went really well. The team was amazing and a shout out to Marisol for the organization
People enjoyed discovering the venue, they enjoyed the food and drinks and we had fun!
E.
Everything I look for in a Nordic brunch: fish, dill, lingonberries, a cinnamon bun and coffee of course... Allow extra time to browse their very cool shop on the first floor.
W. R.
We had a most enjoyable lunch last Friday the 18th September. We were blessed with sunshine on the roof terrace.
Amazing cocktails with a Nordic influence (hello aquavit) stunning food - very attentive team - all really smooth, easy and nothing is to much - highly recommend and will be back
A. G.
Great, very creative food. Fantastic knowledgable service. I will definitely come back. The Nordic bread here is just outstanding. The best bread I have ever eaten.
K. G.
For Cafe Kitsumé
Very quick service and arrival of food, and so many teas/coffees to choose from! Seating outside was also really nice. Could do with more vegetarian mains. I had the caramel rice pudding brioche (which was aesthetic with great taste and texture!) And the white chocolate cookie (small but rich and tasty).
Downside was the price and also for some reason my orders were served in paper packets whereas my friend's were served on plates. Similarly plastic would have been saved if glasses were used. The Blossom iced tea also had very little (but floral!) flavour.
Also definitely check out the inside of the building! Some interesting and fancy clothing and jewellery, as well as self-care products, and the bathrooms are sooo fancy
T. M.
First came here for my husband’s birthday as things were just opening and it was still only outdoor seating. When we first got up to the rooftop, I thought the photos online do not do this place justice and I hoped the food and drinks were not going to be a disappointment.
Well, the experience we had definitely did not disappoint. The cocktails and wine were amazing. I felt like I was having a lovely meal back in Copenhagen it was just divine. We had a great waiter that made the night even more special by bringing out a small birthday dessert when he found out what we were there for.
We enjoyed it so much that we went back the week later to try the rest of the menu.
J. H.
My wife and I hired the Eldr restaurant and roof garden for an evening to celebrate my 40th birthday party. It's hard to know where to begin - the evening was immaculate. We were very looked after by Marisol and her events colleagues from the moment we decided to proceed. On the actual night everything went flawlessly - the complements from friends who attended have in particular spoken extremely highly about the quality of the food (both menu and underlying produce), the friendliness and positivity of the staff and the beautiful venue itself. Max, the sommelier, also gets a special mention for helping us come up with a great wine selection. I honestly couldn't recommend the venue highly enough!
K. S.
Eldr at Pantechnicon worth a visit! Small menu but every dish is absolutely excellent, friendly staff and good vibes.
The chocolate rhubarb desert is out of this world!
M. N.
What a beautiful spot. Perfectly designed gorgeous space with a cafe and a restaurant, with amazing interiors and shops. Café kitsune for Japanese sandwiches and pastries, and edlr restaurant for Scandi fine dining plus a rooftop. What's not to love.
G. P.
Perfect dinner. The food was cooked to perfection & for a soft opening the front of house were on point. You guys are on the right path. Beautiful food & a gorgeous restaurant
P. R.
Pantechnicon was built in 1830 as an impressive art and crafts bazaars and reopened in September 2020 as a home for a mix of Nordic and Japanese creativity and craftsmanship
The quality and detail shows through each of the floors and the passion and craftsmanship in the items in the retail, bar, restaurant and cafe spaces.
On the ground floor is Café Kitsuné which leads through to The Edit, a retail area showcasing ever changing finds.
The 1st floor is home to The Studio, a light filled studio space with exclusive brands.
On the 2nd floor is Eldr, a Nordic restaurant and modern dining space showcasing the food and drink inspired by the 10 Nordic countries and territories.
The 3rd floor is the Roof Garden which is an all day bar / restaurant with outdoor south-facing terrace (see my review on Roof Garden at Pantechnicon)
H. R.
Impressive place. Enjoyed the rooftop restaurant, very cosy and great food. Can't wait to go back for the Japanese restaurant and to hit the shops.
Y. Y.
Ate at roof garden restaurant. Amazing atmosphere and food was lovely. Staff was lovely too but it was so expensive.
G. D.
Really stunning building and what a stunning setting in central London.
We went to Cafe Kitsune who sadly had run out of egg Sandos, but we had two lovely coffees, a green tea matcha croissant and a cinnamon roll which were great.
Definitely recommend going even if only to see the building itself. We’ll be back for dinner some time.
T. T.
Very busy inside - probably the hype of a new place. Price of merchandise in shop is in line with the wealth of the neighborhood, some exclusive products claimed. Polite and welcoming staff. Would be nice if they can have more space.
I. R.
A Japanese cuisine delight. I took 3 of my (teenage) children for a night out. They chose Japanese, and they wanted to taste the offerings at Sachi - Pantechnicon. What a great choice that was. Top foods. Superb sashimi. Outstanding pork rib. Delicious miso soup. Sirloin out of this world. Desert to ask for more. Not the mention the pleasant, attentive and down to earth staff. They even showed us the kitchen where we saw how it all happens in the back before the food arrives at the table. Thank you Pantechnicon! You will see us back soon.
J. P.
Chill Cafe place with a great selection of pastries and savoury foods. Also has a shop and other restaurants on other floors. Worth checking it out
D. H.
Although a little on the pricey side, the food was very very good, and the service was absolutely incredible. Very attentive, helpful and friendly throughout the evening. The Sake sommelier was very knowledgeable and her recommendations were spot on.
R. V.
Delicious food, great view and interiors.
F. L.
Stunning and calming interior, sitting in the roof top terrace is definitely a new favorite hide out for some delicious food. Only complaint is the Norwegian Butter is so so tasty and moorish, and I know its not good for me!😂 The staff were really friendly - great experience all round.
R. B.
Had dinner and drinks at the rooftop which had a really nice ambiance (with heaters!) and between four of us pretty much tasted the entire menu! They were very accommodating of my allergy (bar one mishap which we noticed immediately) but otherwise food tasted amazing, very well-presented and friendly staff.
B. W.
This place is epic. The atmosphere is lovely, the service is excellent, but most of all the food is unreal. My mouth still waters when I think about the fig leaf ice cream I had as part of the dessert we had earlier this week. Honestly the best ice cream I have ever tasted. I no longer live in London and this might be a reason to move back.
L. S.
Wonderful food - we had scallops and beef tartare to start, and venison for main. Loved the new potatoes with smoked butter! Every dish was a perfect balance of flavours and textures. The staff were lovely and the atmosphere lively but not too loud which was great. It was fun to have a glimpse into the kitchen too. Definitely coming back!
M. B.
Beautiful roof top restaurant in the heart of Belgravia with a relaxed feel. Menu is intelligently curated , beautifully presented and carefully sourced. I ordered the vegetarian option of Aubergine and wild garlic which was sublime, my dining partner had the lamb which was one of the best they had tasted. We ordered a cinnamon bun and a pear danish to finish which were delicious! We didn't try the cocktails but I recommend a glass or two of Sav. I will be returning soon...
A. D.
Fantastic new restaurant, beautifully designed to give a light spacious vibe. The food is out of this world and created by the talented chef Golding.
Thank you chef will be returning soon to taste the rest of your menu.
B. B.
Having seen a couple of negative reviews posted recently on here, I wondered whether the restaurant would live up to their high standard reputation. I ate here with some friends for a dinner service and my experience (and those I observed around me) as a whole completely contradicted the negative reviews.
We started the night with the bread (which was some of the best pre meal bread I have tasted) and a bottle of the sap wine - which I highly recommend. The servers were very attentive and clearly knew when to approach without being beckoned. The food arrived together and on time, and the taste lived up to the mouth watering pictures I had seen before coming. I would strongly recommend the scallops when you visit. The setting on the rooftop is very pretty - you don't feel cramped and the heaters provide a nice warmth to the end of the evening.
We had arrived earlier in the day to taste test the cafe and walk around the shop. I would happily go out of my way for lunch everyday in order to eat their sandwiches. The whiskey shop is so interesting and the gentleman in there clearly knew his history as he walked us through the choices. The courtyard out back was ideal to sit in, with the sun shining (only for a few minutes as is the way with english weather) and felt buzzy.
Overall, I cannot give Eldr restaurant higher praise. It's food is incredible, staff cater well given the circumstances, and the smaller shops and cafes in the stunning pantechnicon building add so much diversity making the experience even more. Please add this to your list. It will be worth the trip!
I. f.
Enjoyed the most beautiful meal and wine! Food tasted incredible and very nicely presented. No problems catering to food allergies. Would definitely recommend and will be returning!
E.
Better than perfect service. Cocktails were eclectic and delicious. The private dining "caves" were the coolest place to sit and hang with a group. Sake, wine, cocktails and plates of the most delicious food constantly arriving. Yuzu "limoncello" a must. No dessert menu as yet, but complimentary matcha and strawberry desserts, so delicious!
J. M.
Cool new venue which I will be returning to. Really enjoyed the rooftop terrace for a couple of drinks in the sun before heading down to the Sachi Japanese restaurant. The restaurant has an authentic feel to it with a very high attention to detail in the decor. The food was excellent and perfect for sharing - personal highlights off the menu were the Kinoko Maki, Wagyu, Toriniku and Nasu. Staff were friendly and attentive. Looking forward to going back!
D. L.
Great atmosphere, great service, slightly overpriced but standard for London!
F. J.
Had lunch at the rooftop. The food was delicious, and similar to those I used to have in Denmark. The setting was also beautiful, and staff were friendly.
D.
Absolutely delicious food in the restaurant on the second floor - and beautiful merchandise in the store - like Skandium, but with a Japanese twist. Lovely staff abound!
J. W. Y.
I've never been to Cafe Kistune in Paris yet, but I can say that I love this place already.
So chic, beautiful, modern and also relaxed mood with nice staff!
J. a. J.
Great interior and unique cuisine. The staff were all attentive and helpful too
C. M.
I was fortunate enough to go to the terrace restaurant in September before the lockdown.
It was great then and I’ve been waiting to take a friend till now.
We managed to spend another beautiful time at Pantechnicon and have a delicious meal.
I’ll definitely be returning for the next special occasion.
W. C.
We were greeted by super attentive, very friendly front of house staff. We ate in the roof garden area which is beautiful, again the waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable helping navigate the menu for one of our party who has allergies. The service was sharp (very little waiting time) and food / wine / cocktails were all delicious.
The whole building is stunning with restaurants, bars, retail spaces & so much more
A great afternoon out and we’ll certainly be back. Thank you!
K. L.
Beautiful venue, great atmosphere. Delicious food, in dainty portions.
p. f.
Not enough ventilation at the rooftop garden restaurant so not ideal in a pandemic, in the photos to me it looked like a half-open roof so I felt confident this would have some ventilation. Closed spaces are not ideal.
The food is very nice and well worth the money, great cocktails and a wonderful decor and view. The service was very good and I'll return but maybe for the terrace instead.
A. P.
Really fun place to visit, with incredible Japanese and Nordic hand selected products in the Studio, a fantastic Japanese whisky collection, Café Kitsune on the ground floor (don't leave without trying their sandos!) and their fusion restaurant with an amazing roof terrace in the heart of Belgravia.
J. B.
Visited Saturday night with the new restrictions in place. All staff had face masks and the food was delicious. I would recommend the Scallops and Cod dishes and the Birch Sap Sparkling (which is very refreshing). They were very attentive and respectful. Definitely a restaurant to visit.
N.
Visit : various times including the downstairs Cafe Kitsune / roof top bar (outside) and inside - not within the main upstairs restaurant but there is a seated bar area.
Service is a delight here with all of the staff - no matter who - have been exceptionally friendly and talkative especially when we have mentioned our backgrounds of foods / drink and locations lived .......... as of typing the last visit was end of October and they were due to open the sake style bar early November (guessing will be December) and that should be an interesting destination
As photos for the last visit we have a mid-week evening light meal and drinks. The menu is all light and healthy and though we always share "plates" we found the size dishes really were better for one. We do like the food, preparation, taste and quality here + added the ambience of the place makes for a great local area choice.
The outside seating and ability to order from the restaurant menu for 1 or 2 dishes is also great flexability
As a note the outside does get busy as there is only 7 or so 4 person tables and then a similar 2 person spots
S. C.
So beautiful!
I had the pleasure of having lunch in the Eldr restaurant and what a treat!
The space is beautifully decorated and the chairs are seriously comfortable (it’s a thing, trust me!) and the smells from the open kitchen were intoxicating. My party and I had a selection of starters, with the halibut and the (vegan) radish dish standing out (no shade on the beetroot, nor the scallops; one of us actually drank the sauce at the end...). I chose the beef tartar starter for my second course and it was so good. I should have looked closer on the menu to know what the blackberry-like things were on top, and the crispy rye bread scattered on top was genius. A side salad at endives and other greens was perfect without a hint of bitterness.
I look forward to going back for dinner soon, to sample some serious cocktails and kokkaffe on the roof terrace!
Give yourself a treat and go. You won’t be disappointed.
L. A.
Set in the most idyllic street. Lovely tables outside to sit down on if only visiting the cafe. Staff are always friendly and happy to help. Covid measures are taken, signing in on the nhs covid app when arriving and staff always wearing masks. Food menu is unique and delicious, staff are attentive and we are always given warm bread to start. Love this little find, will be back again soon !
S. S.
A fantastic new place on Motcomb street that combines the best of retail, food, drinks, wine and culture from the Nordics and Japan.
I have already been here several times, both at the restaurant Eldr (I highly recommend the scallops, halibut and the venison) and in the magical roof top garden, which in itself is a beautiful venue where I will certainly return for a glass of orange wine and their "cheese on cheese". To top it all off, Cafe Kitsune just opened on the ground floor- can’t wait to try their sweets the next time I’m there!
F. T.
This is the first time I have been to a newly opened restaurant and had an absolutely seamless dining experience. One usually expects a few snags in the begining but these guys appear to know exactly what they are doing. We enjoyed a balmy late September drink on the roof terrace, before moving inside for dinner. The interior has a lovely greenhouse feel so that we didn't regret the transition. The dishes are scandi inspired, unfussy and expertly prepared. I will definitely be back for more - the beetroot macadamia starter was sublime.
T. R.
Had one of the best meals We’ve eaten in London in a number of years when we visited for lunch. Staff were attentive, friendly and everything you would expect based on the vibe. It deserves success.
N. S.
Ate at the Roof Garden on Sunday evening. I'm from Finland (as is the head chef) so was keen to check the restaurant out. Lovely hygge atmosphere, especially as it got darker outside. Food and drinks were delicious, I especially enjoyed the vegetarian pumpkin main, and the flavours of fennel, dill, celeriac and liquorice throughout.
Only downside was the fact that staff did wear masks but some of them hadn't covered their nose properly. Our waiter's nose was exposed throughout the evening. Even saw one waiter with his mask hanging all the way down to his chin, exposing his mouth and thus making the mask completely useless.
D. A.
What a great idea and place. Having witnessing from early on the creation of this place close up to now seeing it finished - it for sure does not disappoint.
It is unique mixing Nordic and Japanese experiences and cultures, but actually there are probably more similarities than not in terms of simplicity of design, love of seafood and fish (incl raw), and more. It works!
We enjoyed a great lunch in the Eldr Restaurant and tried a mix of dishes. The starters were divine, the sparkling SAV made from birch tree sap a pleasant surprise, the mains great.
We see many more good times here in not only the restaurants and café, but also the stores, and being so close to our office - brilliant!
r. v.
The quality of the food, the friendliness and professionalism of the team and the ambiance were all really superb. Well done to the whole team at the Pantechnicon; a wonderful addition to join London's great venues. Thank you.
A. N.
Pricey. However... delicious food, wonderful staff throughout and fantastic interiors so definitely worth checking out
M. C.
Very nice ambience and good service. I found the food very tasty but a bit short on the quantity! However, I felt full after waiting a few minutes.
C. K.
Loved it here. Coffee was great and a lovely place to wander round.
O. O.
Impressively delicious food, Nordic inspired drinks and bespoke retail space.
C. S.
Beautiful building and interiors, delicious fresh clean food and lovely rooftop terrace! Nice curated selection of products too, a real find! Will definitely go back.
N. Y.
Pricey but decent sushi. Need to order 2 or 3 dishes per person
A. C.
Great location, top service and very nice food with a Scandinavian twist. Tables outside are a bit squeezed, but overall top experience
A. B.
We ate here last week.
Positives: excellent food, great setting, friendly staff and super service. Really excellent on all these measures.
Negatives: lots of hard surfaces makes this restaurant too noisy. We were a table of three and could barely hear each other, even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. They need a sound engineer in to dampen the noise levels.
Would certainly go back once noise levels are fixed.
l.
The food, the ambiance it's just fantastic
S. S.
Very plush posh as well as amazing place to eat at Roof Top. Ambience food and most of all service by Alex was superb .... Alex was very attentive professional friendly and customer focused ... thank you Alex
H. M.
Japanese cafe experience at it's best!
c. l.
Utterly superb! Service, food, organic wine, all perfect. I loved this place- cannot wait to indulge in freshly baked buns & butter again
G. B.
Lovely place! Really nice ambiance. Mains were good. Starters: scallops are absolutely delicious. About the service, Jennifer is very, very kind.
j. d.
Fantastic rye and rhubarb cocktail (one of the best around) and sparkling birch wine with the conceptual nordic marriage to start was a real treat. Thanks guys, we will be back!
A. S.
Great food! Amazing ambience! Excellent Service!
T.
Really nice? Just sooo overpriced! But still, nice

A excellent NEW venue to visit in Knightsbridge, if you're looking for a little hidden gem, THIS is your place, beautiful building from the outside and it don't let you done once you get inside, the restaurants are stunning, the food & services in the Nordic restaurant was awesome, dont miss out on the roof top terrace, a new place to be, i will be back ;-)
R. D.
It has been an amazing experience. Everything has been spot on. The food and service at the restaurant were superb, I totally recommend it
We will back again soon

One of the most satisfying meals I have eaten in a while. Starting with a glass of Cherry & Honey, one of their recommended cocktails, I then ordered a Beetroot for starter followed by a Cod side-dishing with a Kohlrabi.
"Well begin is half done". I couldn't be more agreed. The akvavit-based cocktail was a perfect aperitif. A hint of bitterness (I guess it's from the fermented cherry pips) opened to the distinct flavors of herbs and spices of the akvavit. The cocktail took me through all the sounded flavors then dipped my palates in a sweet after taste (from mead?). It reminds me of a lovely Negroni, but I'd prefer the Cherry & Honey to be entirely honest.
The Beetroot (Salad) was simple, but all the flavors from sweetness (beetroot), sour (sea beet), and buttery (macadamia) can be found in this dish. The buttery-rich-macadamia, with its creamy texture, leveled the dish's flavor to a new definition. I like the freshness of beetroot, and it's my favorite way to start a meal.
I always try Cod everywhere I go. So, at Eldr, there is no difference. The texture of the fish was on point, not too dry or uncooked. Yet, the smoked cream sauce was the star of the show. It was a little bit salty when I tried it on its own, but it pairs well with the fish, and the umami from the mushroom. I found it interesting that the sourness tasted from the sea vegetable (if I'm not mistaken) sprinkled on top of the fish. It was well-complimented with the robust and salty sauce and the umami mushroom. The balance was perfectly drawn.
Kudos to Eldr team and chef Joni. I would definitely come back and try other dishes.

Imagine if you mix the #hygge Nordic vibe with the minimalist chic of the Japanese 🇯🇵 and stick that in the middle of ultra posh #belgravia... Well discover the eat, shop, relax concept venue @_pantechnicon in #knightsbridge.
#londonfoodiemama tried the #norweigan inspired restaurant #eldr with a beautiful #rooftop garden for your #coronasafe dining precautions #outdoordining
The food and service were spot on despite only being open for a few days 👏. Particular enjoyed the #beeftartare and #scallops. The homemade #bread 🥖 with fennel and elderflower butter 🧈 was beautifully presented but bit on the salty side.
The menu was particularly NOT child friendly although our 3 year old 👧 quite enjoyed mummy's venison 😮 (today's over privileged generation 🙃)
#covidsecure measures were in place with staff wearing masks 😷 and #sanitiser readily available 👍👐

It's a unique place, divided on 3 floors of shops and cafe/restaurant. A bit overpriced but the cakes are unique and delicious!

📍19 Motcomb St, Belgravia, London SW1X 8LB
The restaurant located in Pantechnicon, the famous Nordic Japanese-style living hall, is full of people no matter what. Last time I had an appointment with my sisters and I didn’t even have a chance to have a drink on the terrace. After unblocking, you can hurry up and locate.
Flat White
The coffee tastes pretty good, and it is placed in a Nordic style cup. The simple style is my love.
Pecan & pear danish
The bread with Danish taste is quite special. The pear in the middle part tastes sweet but not greasy, and it has a strong layering when it is cut.
Fattiga Riddare
Because most Nordic dishes are related to seafood, this one is no exception. The surface of the bread is crispy and has some burnt aroma, but the cream on the side and sea buckthorn are a perfect match!
Scrambled eggs
The classic egg is paired with Nordic sourdough bread and salmon. The bread is very crispy, with a little salty taste of salmon, and it is also delicious with balanced nutrition.
Beef Rib Cutlet
Then there is the big fish and meat link. This beef is freshly roasted and topped with sauce to add flavor. There are also some roasted onions, seaweed and grains on the side, which is quite healthy!
Meringue & black cherry
The taste of this dessert is a bit hard to describe in a word. The ice cream has a taste of beetroot. I personally don't recommend it.
The overall dining environment is very comfortable and fancy, it is a good choice for gathering or dating with friends.

Eldr at Pantechnicon
📍19 Motcomb St, Belgravia, London SW1X 8LB
坐落在著名北欧日式生活馆Pantechnicon的餐厅,不管什么时候去人都超级多。上次和姐妹约了连露台喝个酒的机会也没,解封后想去的可以抓紧定位哈。
Flat White
咖啡口味还不错,而且装在北欧风格的杯子里,简约的风格是我的爱。
Pecan & pear danish
丹麦口感的面包,蛮特别的,中间部分的梨子口味甜而不腻,切开来吃的层次感也很强。
Fattiga Riddare
因为北欧的菜肴多半和海鲜相关,这个也不例外。面包表层烤的是脆脆的,有一些焦香感,但是旁边的cream加上沙棘,完美搭配!
Scrambled eggs
很经典的鸡蛋搭配北欧酸面包和三文鱼,面包很脆的口感,加上三文鱼一点点咸味,营养均衡也很好吃。
Beef Rib Cutlet
然后便是大鱼大肉环节,这个牛肉是现烤的,淋上酱汁更加入味,旁边还有一些烤洋葱、海草和谷物的搭配,挺健康的!
Meringue & black cherry
这个甜品的口味有点一言难尽,冰激淋有点甜菜根的味道,我个人不太推荐。
总体用餐环境非常舒适fancy,是和朋友小聚或者约会的好选择哦。

(Translated) I went to London's first cafe Kitsune
It just opened in September and the interior was a stylish and relaxing space, with the concept of Japan and Scandinavia.
The cafe that is open until 22:00 is quite rare in London, so I recommend it.
The guide at the entrance was very gentlemanly
