Reviews of Pie Republic

We ordered the muffin breakfast meal which included smoked salmon, avocado mash and poached eggs with hollandaise sauce on top. We also ordered a normal breakfast meal which included sausages, hash browns, toast etc. Although everything was nice, my avocado mash was a little too lemony and eggs were ever so slightly too cold. I hate to criticise food because I normally enjoy anything that gets put in front of me, but also the customer service really put me off. Everyone has their days but if you're working in the food industry, it's really important to make your customers feel comfortable and welcome. I hope to come back and change my mind about the customer service 😊

One of my go to places. The victoria pie is amazing. Everything just fits well from the pie to the gravy with homecut chips just a great place to go! They occasionally offer special deals along the week and can be found on their Instagram.

Food is exceptional, service is amazing and the decor is wicked! I've been in pie shops all over the world and this is the very finest I've ever experienced first hand. If any youtubers or instagrammers (is that a word) want to start a new # then look no further. I don't usually review restaurants because it's a personal opinion and not everyone likes pie n mash (I can't understand it either but there you are) but this was worth the effort of submitting a 5*** review. Pity there are only 5 stars to give 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤️

Good all over. The food comes a bit late but was tasty. I only went for the pies and they were lovely.
Shame there wasn't some food available on the menu
N. J.
Absolutely love their pies. I live quite far but the commute is worth it. Only thing that needs to improve is the customer service they are lovely but sometimes not as observant as they need to be.
a. k.
Very good. Specially for families. Its the best home cooked food.

The establishment looks good from the outside and was good to know they are open until 10-11pm on a Sunday.
We went in and was told to go sit down, but they forgot to give us menus. Not the best start.
When we were ready to order the staff weren’t attentive, they were talking amongst each other so we went up to the till to order. We were the only customers!!
They don’t accept cash which is inconvenient but they did have a free cash machine a few doors down.
My friend ordered a lamb pie (Cox’s Pie) which tasted good and was a combination of a curry and pie.
I ordered a fish pie (Captain Cook) which was too watery, sauce should be thicker. The sides were nice but should have more condiments rather than just ketchup and mayonnaise.
The main thing that needs working on is the customer service!!! Will I come back again, that’s a no.

Professional service, nice menu of different pies. Always well presented. Good place to go if your in a small group. Parking bit of a problem before 6:30 pm. Its cash only, they don't take card. Cash machine not too far away.

We come here regularly for the excellent breakfast and once again it did not disappoint. One remark we would make however is that there was only one member of staff on the floor and whilst he was doing his best, an additional member of staff would’ve been helpful to avoid delays. Overall we received exemplary service from your staff!

Simple and good tasting pies, good value as well. The decor is really nice, very modern, with exposed brick work and timber beams, felt like a English cottage designed by a hipster. I liked it.
Anyway, I ordered a Haka, which is a pie filled with lamb, carrots, Rosemary, garlic and potatoes each pie comes with a choice of 2 sides for £7.95. I went for roasted veg (really nice) and homemade slaw. Very good value I think. I liked the pie, i was worried it would be like a British style cooking, but it had a desi style to it with a blend of nice spices.
Also ordered a really nice Virgin mojito which cost £3.95
If you are local to East London, i would definitely recommend this place. It's next to the mosque and is also @HMC_UK certified. There are also non pies on the menu.

Brilliant food. Pies were tasty and they had an vast range of fillings which was nice to see. Would give 5 stars, but service was very slow and we was the only people in there - waited roughly 45mins for food to arrive.

Ordered 3 starters, Chicken Satay, Grilled Chicken & Fish Goujons.
The chicken satay weren't that great, lacked flavour, the other 2 would definitely recommend, may try the Cox's Bazaar Samosa next time.
All 3 starters cost £10 which isn't a bad price.
Had the Cox's Bazaar Pie for mains which was lovely, had a hint of spice which went down a treat, would definitely recommend 👍🏼
M. A.
I was pleasantly surprised about the Cox’s Bazaar Pie, it had a delicious spicy twist to it and something I never experienced anywhere else.

Everything's halal. Pies were tasty. Hence three stars. But guy at the till, whilst polite, got my order wrong and gave me a royal Victoria instead of the hakkan like I ordered. By the time I raised I already had cut and ate a bit of the pie so didn't feel right to ask for another, nor did they have it in stock (we went really late). We also had the Cox bazar which was really tasty. Royal Victoria was just a chicken and mushroom pie, nothing special. Veg was tasty but mash and cheesy chips nothing to write home about. It might be because we went late near closing time tbf. If going again I'd get hakkan, Cox and the minced meat one - recommendations.

Good halal breakfast and lunch/dinner menu . Prices are good and the food is very nice however the quantity given is small and we had to wait 30 minutes after ordering the food even though we had told them from the start that we were in a rush so that wasn’t pleasant for us as we had to eat fast . Im sure that wont happen again . Id recommend this place as we really did enjoy our food . Bangers and mash were good and so was the the chicken mushroom pie 🥧! Will give this place one more try and give a final review. No service charge 🙂. Parking out infront of the restaurant .

Went back for the second time and everything was spot on . No complaints Thank you
A. H.
A good local pie store with a twist of something different. Good menu and if you want something to try something except the usual kebab or chicken and chips then this is the place!

Was advised to make a booking as it was NYE, however when we arrived there was only one other table occupied, and during our meal another table was used. It was VERY quiet, but a nice atmosphere.
Staff was very accommodating and friendly, definitely ones who go the extra mile for customers.
The food was presented nicely, on these beautiful patterned plates, but The taste was sadly very basic - the pies aren’t anything special. (Although, they are the better Halal pie’s I’ve come across so far - I am yet to find an amazing halal pie in east London).
Sides for the chicken pie could have been a little bigger and the Gravy given for both, was very thin and not much there.
The homemade coleslaw was perfect though.
At roughly £7 a pie (with 2 sides), i would say it’s worth the price.
The restaurant is cash only, so don’t forget to pull out some money!!
Overall, a relaxed and casual atmosphere, with some traditional British food, at a decent price.
J. M.
Absolutely brilliant service by the brother, and a very big portion. Tasted just like the fish and chips fresh from a seaside front. Tartar and peas were delicious also. Will be back soon.
Thank you for the great food. Highly recommend for their fish, also tried their starters, samosa was scrumptious and not dry aswell as the fish fingers. Friend bought a pie which she loved. 10 out of 10.
K. M.
Went for a pie and mash in the afternoon at around 5pm for takeaway. I was told the one I wanted was sold out. I didn't fancy any of the other pies on the menu so I thought I'd try their fish and chips.
Fish was good and they provided two decent sized pots of mushy peas and tartar sauce. However I barely got any chips which was very disappointing as you can see from my images attached.
For £9 I was expecting a slightly larger portion of chips. Half way through my meal I had finished all my chips with a large piece of fish to finish off by itself.

We have visited Pie Republic a number of times. Based in a popular East London area, this place is a unique restaurant as this is the only Halal (HMC) Pie restaurant we are aware of.
The decor of the restaurant has a very antique feel. Their is a consistent wooden theme with crates on the walls etc. The restaurant feels cosy. They also have a seating area in the basement. However, this place is no longer busy as it used to be and needs better maintenance. The floors and benches were dirty.
We ordered the Cox’s Bazaar Pie and the Hakka Pie. The Cox Pie consists of chicken with baked beans in a bhoot jolokia sauce, melted cheese & coriander, and is served with 2 sides. The Hakka Pie is made from Lamb, rosemary, garlic, diced carrots and potatoes, fully encased in shortcrust pastry. You can choose two sides from chips, mash, house slaw, minty mushy peas or Mediterranean roast Veg.
Both pies were amazing, however we prefer the Cox Pie more. I wasn’t a pie person before, but this restaurant has changed me. We absolutely love this place. We have also tried their chicken burger which is nice and juicy. Their strawberry Mocktail Mojito is to die for. We have been told their fish and chips is also very tasty, however we have yet to try this. Pie Republic also have a full all day Breakfast menu.
Parking can become a issue as the nearby street are Permit Holders only. You can find a few bays around though which have 30 mins free.
The prices on the menu are very reasonable. They don’t accept card payments, however their is a free cash machine just outside.
Pie Republic is HMC Approved so nothing to worry about.
If you are in London or visiting Forest Gate area, you must try Pie Republic. Our Rating: 9/10.

Best pies in East London. Staff, atmosphere and service excellent. Shout out to Safwan who made us feel like he knew us for years and went over and above to ensured we were taken care of. 10/10 would definitely recommend.
A. H.
Good tasting pie, but it's a Cash Only restaurant! 🤨 GRR. Ordered Mojitos with my order, got them 30 mins after I had finished my pies! They had ran out of pies too...😐. Lucky I had time to burn.
M. A.
Great food at affordable prices, we tried the fish and chips and lamb pie. Both delicious, very generous portions and well cook. I will definitely comeback for more ;)
W. S.
Was very very nice great service from a young man who constantly asking need anything else maybe as we went in daytime but Hakka pie was delicious I mean nice food overall. ...different to normal things we eat and all Halaal ...so great news
K. Z.
Came here during #britishpieweek for halal pie & mash with a spicy twist on the pies . Service was good and attentive , food was tasty and well presented . Value for money and upcycled vintage surroundings .

I did a double take when I first spotted this place, thinking there's a pie place on Upton Lane and 10 minutes away from me! So I grabbed a few friends and we were impressed. It was a bit quiet but it's the middle of Ramadan, but the interior was trendy, the staff were attentive (they asked us if we needed dates to break out fast).
We got the 3 starters for £10, which is a great deal, but better is a pie and 2 sides for £8! We ordered a variety of starters - satay chicken, samosas and macaroni cheese fingers (super moorish). The pies were absolutely delicious, I had the Hakka pie the pasty was thin, light and crispy, the filling was rich and a good meat, veg and gravy ratio. I tried a little of my friends chicken a mushroom pie, that too was delicious.
The only complaint I have is the roast vegetables I ordered as one of my sides consisted mostly of peppers and a few courgettes. I would have beens to have some roasted carrots and onions.
I will definitely go again though, I want to try the Banger and Mash, this place is great value for money.

Pie republic is good quality food reasonable me and my friend travelled from Manchester the only down side is the order does take long to come out even when it's not busy
A. U.
My pie initially didn't have a lot of filling and looked quite empty, but they brought me another one straight away. Average price for an ok meal.
M. N.
Really nice resturant and the pie was delicious. Lots of different types of items and some asian inspired pies
N. M.
Not much of a pie person but this place has the Best red velvet cheese cake and chicken burgers. Highly recommended
S. D.
The environment is very clean and neat. The menu is easy to read and not overwhelming.
I ordered a burger and a Coke. The waiter threw a can of Coke on the table without even asking if I wanted a glass. I waited 40 minutes for my burger which came cold but hey, at least the fries with it were scorching hot. The burger was spicy with no indication about it in the menu whatsoever. Some may not like that, but I didn’t mind. The burger was still good.
Maybe I’ll be as frustrated if I go to a burger place for a pie.
It’s an alright place to try.

A gem in the heart of East London. Places like this are rare!
Great food, great staff & excellent surroundings. The restaurant was very clean.
I recommend:
Cox Bazaar
Sweet potatoe fries
Home made coleslaw
Keep up the good work

Have come to Pie Republic several times and it is a gem on little old Upton Lane.
I always order either the fish and chips (always faultless) or the Cox's Bazaar pie. Whenever I get the pie it has varying degrees of spiciness but is tasty each time. Make sure you order the chips, as they're homemade and so good.
Stick to the cold drinks from this place (even if you are ordering from their breakfast menu) as the hot drinks aren't nice at all.
Service could be better...there is usually a young lad on front of house who is not attentive beyond the initial order-taking stage. I don't know what kind of operations happen in the kitchen but the food takes forever to arrive, especially if you have someone at your table ordering the full english breakfast.
a. a.
I was amazed by the quality of these pies. If your around East London area you have to try this. I came all the way from Birmingham to try. Well done Guys
U. N.
Excellent pies, shame this place isn't busier as their food is very good, a hidden gem which needs more fanfare 🎉

I went here with a friend and her children and we all enjoyed the food and the service was great. We had a mixture of the menu and shared all the dishes and everything we ordered was delicious and came in good time. There is off road parking and the area isn’t great as there was scuffles taking place outside but to be honest I wouldn’t let that put me off going again. It is definitely worth a return trip!
N. L.
Ordered the full English breakfast, was spot on, the mushrooms were delicious. Great value for money and good atmosphere.
S.
Highly Recommend The Hakka Pie. Good Halal Pies Although Service Can Take Time Even When The Restaurant Isn't Busy.
m. o.
Gorgeous delicious pies particularly the Royal Victoria pie which was cooked to perfection. The hand-cut chips were a nice addition and the customer service was fantastic and patient. Would highly recommend
أ. ل. ا.
Customer service was great, the food was really tasty & waiting time didn’t take too long. Portions were really generous. The shop is clean and has a nice atmosphere. They also have private seating available for those who need privacy or families/niqaabi sisters which is a bonus
Was very pleased with the overall experience, thank you pie republic.
C. J.
The cashier was very friendly and helped make a recommendation as to what I might like. Ended up going with the Shepard of Shimla, mushy peas and mashed potatoes. Was VERY pleasantly surprised! The pie was perfectly seasoned and had a wonderful topping of crispy and gooey baked cheese. The peas and mash were wonderful as well. My only other suggestion is if you do get a pie maybe don't order mash on the side as well as they already have quite a bit inside. However that was my fault for not realizing. 10/10 would definitely come back here.

Chicken pie was nice chips was to soggy Hakka pie was and looked disgusting. Delivery was on time which is good. But the food in the restaurant tastes more better than ordering on delivery.
A. A.
Good hot fresh food. Nice decor and friendly staff. My only criticism would be is that the service is very slow. If you're not in a rush and don't mind sitting and waiting then this is a great place to chill.
A. W.
Brilliant take away. The restaurant itself is really clean and modern inside, very welcoming setting. However, we recently had a fish and chips take away and I was blown away by how good it was. Great chips and well battered fish. I was very impressed.
M. H.
Really nice food here, great service too
Looking forward to coming back here soon
A. H.
The food was good but service suffered somewhat. Took a long time for drink, including just water, to get to our table. Doubt I will be back, at least until Covid is properly under control, if they're still around then.
I. R.
First time eating from pie republic. I ordered Pie and Mash with roast veg. The food was lovely and the staff are really friendly, But it was absolutly dead inside. I went at lunch time and there was 1 other person eating inside. the whole time i was there I dont think anyone came inside. And the food wasn't that cheap.
S. B.
The workers catered exceptional service. Despite the fact that I had quite a few dietary requirements, they were able to tailor to it. One of the guys was very patient and helpful towards what I could and couldn’t eat. Superb service! To add to it, the food was amazing!
T. O.
Nice and peaceful atmosphere and Modern decor. The food is delicious, a variety of classic pies and suitable for vegetarians. I recommend the sweet potato fries with your meal. Desserts and hot drinks available. The waffles are great. Would recommend it 100%. Excellent and attentive staff.
A. P.
Food was everything is expect a pie to be and service was very good too.
The Cox's Bazaar was a chicken pie with an Indian fusion twist that was tasty and the pie base and bottom were well baked. Sides offered were great too.
Mashed potato could have been warmer and as my wife is Gluten-free, she had to make a meal out of the sides offered, due to no mains offered.
Decor at the restaurant was good with a modern industrial look. However, cash only payment system is a bit of an inconvenience and an electronic payment system should be introduced.
T. G. V. H.
Great fresh food, fast delivery the driver was very polite and patient even though he found it difficult to find our house as its abit awkward to get to and always have a problem people finding our place .
I really enjoyed the cox bazaar, the wife loved the hakka pie and the kids really enjoyed the bangers and mash, their milkshakes are so good definitely better than any others we have tried. looking forward to coming in to the restaurant over the weekend with the family before the school holidays come to an end.
B. A.
I went here yesterday and the service was great. The guy was really nice, no complaints. The hakka pie, we were told would be quite spicy, it wasnt. It was nice. My friend ordered the chicken pie. She have me some to try and it tasted mouldy. I think it's the thyme. Too much of it and it just needs some seasoning. Otherwise it's an ok place to eat. Hard to find parking around though.
A. K.
Always love the food here, real comfort food which makes the whole family happy whenever we go here. The staff are always very attentive and the food is always fresh and tasty, I absolutely love the Hakka pie, fish and chips and their mojito’s, the rest of the family have other favourites. We also get the food delivered when we fancy a take out night and the food is always as fresh as we get inside the restaurant the food gets delivered on time and the driver is always polite, Overall a great experience everytime.
S. J.
I LOVE this place! The pies are delicious, there are classics like chicken and mushroom and really tasty original recipes like lamb with an Indian twist. Plus it's reasonably priced, friendly, and they do amazing milkshakes.
One thing they need to improve: get a card machine! Currently cash only.
S. S.
Nice place with food other than pies lol, friendly staff
T. A.
Visited today with my family for a quick lunch. Have to say i was pleasantly surprised! Starters came out piping hot, and full of flavour. (3 for £10 is very reasonable in price!) Mains were great wholesome meals which went down great with everyone. We also had the lotus biscoff & ferrero cheesecakes- AMAZING! Such good home made desserts that are far better than the pre made cakes in most other dessert parlours. Highly recommend this place, great family friendly restaurant.
A. V.
Food here was BRILLIANT. Pies came out piping hot and tasted amazing. We came around 15:00 and it didn't seem busy but service was terrible. The people working seemed run off their feet. Too many deliveroo orders perhaps? Don't let that deter you though, the service staff were very nice! I would just go when you have time for a tasty, but leisurely meal.
G. H.
Not a traditional east end pie & mash shop, but still very good. The best pies are the ones with an Asian influence (the Cox's Bazar is excellent). The portions are generous, so only order starters if you're very hungry. One word of warning - they only accept cash payments. There's a cash machine three doors down the road, so it's not a problem really but it's handy to know upfront.
Y. H.
The best place to get a pie in and around this area. The selection of pies, the quality of ingredients, the pricing and the presentation are all top notch. I recently ventured away from ordering from here to try a different pie in Ilford but it was thoroughly disappointing and does not match the quality and taste of pie republic. Really like this place.
S. H.
Amazing food! Great service and value for money. Also the decor is very homely and rustic. Seriously would recommend to anyone who wants a hearty British pie.
Maybe less football commentary and some music.
F. L.
We came for lunch yesterday and absolutely loved the food, it was our first time trying Pie Republic and we were thoroughly happy with the experience.
The pies and sides were spot on, authentic british flavours which ofcourse were halal, for dessert we tried their Red velvet cheesecake which one of the guys recommended and also their Lotus Biscoff Doughnut which was amazing!
Service was brilliant, they really helped us make our choices and were very helpful.
Will definitely be coming back soon with my family.
S. K.
Really enjoyed our food here the pies were amazing! everything was spot on, so glad we have found a authentic British restaurant that serves halal food. Will be back to try the Full english breakfast next.
J. M.

The English breakfast was very good, just one mark less as they used to give butter with the toast, but today was some average margarine, but the latte made up for it
s. k.
My new favourite place to dine at! I've tried most of the pies and love them all, but cox's bar has to be my favourite! The milkshakes are divine and mocktails are so refreshing. Highly recommend a visit. Decor is clean and retro. A great addition to the area!
B. L.
Delicious and timely delivery. Friendly and appropriately socially distancing delivery driver. Moist pie, perfect crust, wonderful choice for a night in! Highly recommend!
M. P.
A new little eatery on Upton Lane serving a selection of food. We spotted this by chance on the way back from an evening out and popped in to actually satisfy a waffle craving!
The classic Strawberry milkshake was awesome and genuinely took me back to childhood, it was that good! The waffle took a little while to arrive, due to technical difficulties but the waiter was very apologetic and kindly gave us a shake on the house - top bloke!
The waffle itself is great to share and surprisingly light - a welcome change from a lot of places that seem to be making stodgy waffles these days!
Only 4 stars as I've yet to sample the main food!

So far best Halal pie(hakka lamb pie) i have tried hands down. The weird thing is that i usually order via JustEat and get significantly larger portions of sides however when eating in today it was very sub par portions which was a let down. The "panko?" chicken wings had no breaded exterior whatsoever and were essentially just baked wings covered in sauce (false advertising?). The wings are very large in size and as a result were actually raw inside(major health hazard) but i was kindly given a fresh batch with 1 extra which was nice. Another major let down was the mojito, flavour wise it was absolutely spot on but was served in a 250ml cup whereas when ordering online via JustEat its more a 500ml cup and when paying £3.95 for a drink, every milliliter counts. Especially with mojito, as the monin syrup they use is £10 for a full litre with the addition of very standard lemonade and garnished with limes and mint which cost virtually nothing. 3 stars is being EXTREMELY generous.
Its sad how food establishments are diminishing quality and portions of food to maximise profit.
My verdict: go there for pie, skip the fancy(not really so fancy are they)drinks, skip any additional sides apart from the ones that come with the pie. Do try the peanut butter and coconut milkshake though, its refreshing and the flavours blend together SO well.

Ordered Full English Breakfast, the guy who took the order was polite, good customer service. Seating was good. Food was brilliant...esp the eggs and sausages. Would definitely go again.
S. B.
Forest Gate and Upton Park is going through a bit of a culinary renaissance of late, and I'm glad to see that there are places like Pie Republic on the high street!
The food was delicious, the service was attentive and there was a big choice of things to choose from. The owners have expanded out a brunch menu for the weekend which looks to cater for all the new faces who've moved into the area and I hope there's more to come from here!
B. R.
Always love visiting this place with my husband, we absolutely love their Pie's, my favourite is the Hakkah Pie and the husbands fav is the Cox Bazaar as he loves his spicy flavours. Their strawberry mojito are always so refreshing we always get one to take away too. Definitely recommend this place
s. m.
Tasty breakfast but looooong wait on a Sunday morning. Food does taste better the more hungry you are, but please do not make this the reason for delaying our brunch. It would have been as tasty if it were brought to us 20mins earlier.
s.
Discovered this pie mash shop as I was in Stratford.
Pie Republic is your ordinary but not so ordinary pie mash place because it is halal food which is brilliant.
As well as your traditional breakfasts and pies, they also have some Indian inspired pies like the Cox's Bazaar which has spices, cheese and coriander and the Shepherd of Shimla which is Indian inspired with Indian spices and Kidney Beans.
I couldn't try it that day because I was full so I just had some tea.
Anyhow, it was hard deciding on which pie to get but after looking at the menu so many times, I think I will be back for the Shepherd of Shimla which is quite unique.
Will definitely return SOON for the pie!
A. R.
Ordered 2 X Full English breakfast. Long wait for food. Food cooked well and fresh. No teas served. Had to remind waiter a few times. I prefer to have tea alongside my breakfast.
Poor excuse for bad service and delays.
M. T.
We and the children love this place! Staff are friendly, yes can be busy and at times may be delayed, however, the food is fresh and can not fault them! The staff members make sure the customers are okay, and are always on their toes! Well done Pie Republic, can not fault this place on service nor food!
A. T.
Decent fresh pies, great mash
M. R.
Food is excellent, service is good to very good.
Price is a bit above the usual for this part of East London, however, people do enjoy the variety of meals.
17th February 2019
Excellent service from Abid who also happens to make the best custom brewed tea.
J.
The best... chips are amazing. Burgers are amazing. Pies are amazing. Love this place... visit at least once a month. All my friends love it now too. Staff are friendly. Highly reccomened. (Get a few more authentic british pies on the menu please)
M. B.
The food was amazing! Everything arrived quickly however there was a mistake in my order and they rectified it ASAP. I was very happy with the service. This place is nice and inexpensive. The staff were good as well.
H. S.
I had the lamb pie and it was sooo Goood. However the mash tasted off and when me and my husband told them they said it was made today and it's not off. As for the customers always right ehh. Mash is the perfect co.bo for pies but I wont suggest having it. Even if you tell them nothing will be done. So good luck. I would still recommend the place as the pie and chips was amazing. They need to just work on customer services.
A. K.
Fantastic pies. Great concept and very friendly staff. Food looked a d tasted great. I had a chicken and mushroom pie with sides. Tastes authentic and flavoursome. Definitely a thumbs up!

A different take on a pie restaurant that takes traditional savoury pies and adds interesting spicy twists. Top marks for departing from the norm and not following the fast food crowd that overpopulates the rest of East of London. The décor and layout of the restaurant is fresh and modern and is a pleasant place to dine. However the joint is a little bit style over substance. Our party of 12+ ordered a selection of pies and sides to get a taste of their signature dishes. Whilst I appreciate they are trying to cater to the local (south Asian) clientele, this place disappointed on a few levels primarily because they had taken some classic pies, currified it and not managed to pull it off. They even managed to mess up a fish pie by adding mushrooms and capsicum (weird). To add insult to injury we pre-ordered certain pies only to find on arrival they had sold them (by accident). Finally drinks arrived late into the meal. To summarise, I really wanted to like this place but they disappointed. This joint appears to be a work in progress and hopefully will improve.
T. K.
Food was nice I can't complain and it did arrive promptly, only knocked off one star as ambience was a little awkward, when it's not busy maybe put the radio volume up a bit so private conversations can't be heard by everyone. But overall it was a nice experience.
Also parking nearby is a myth so that's something to keep in mind.

Came here in Ramadan for pre-dawn meal. They RAN Out of PIES?! how can a pie shop run out of pies? poor planning I say. Although the Pies were great tasting and good quality, the wait for fresh pies to be made is unacceptable. ordered Mojitos to have with the meal...by the time they arrived I had finished my meal and had to wait 20 mins on top for them. Shame really as the shop has potential to do well
H. (.
Really enjoyed my pie experience here, quite comparable to Pie Factory in Whitechapel, except the difference is the starter menu which I really enjoyed!
Fish goujons, mac and cheese balls and the wings were all very delicious! I believe we paid £10 for three starters. Just a shame that two other starters were not available that evening.
I ordered the Royal Victoria pie which is a classic chicken and mushroom pie - very flavoursome and oh so satiating with the two sides. The Mediterranean roasted vegetables should have more vegetable varieties than peppers and onions.
M. B.
So good! Love the Hakka and breakfast in particular. Good service too
I. D.
Had a lovely evening at Pie Republic for a friends birthday dinner, great service, tasty food and all at a reasonable price. Would defiantly recommend for any occasion or just a simple dinner when you can't be bothered to cook. Can't wait to visit again. Thank you!
S. K.
Been to this place a few times now and the fish is amazing, very flakey. The pizza pie is a treat and the chicken pies are a must try. I have always attended with good company so the atmosphere for me has always been good.
F. K.
Loved the food here, this was our second time at Pie Republic after having a great experience last time we visited this time and it was even better!
I opted for the fish & chips and my friend had the Chicken & mushroom pie, the fish & chips was amazing! I hate having fish skin on my Battered fish and I was so happy to find out they don't have it on their fish.
We had Doughnuts (Rafaello and Ferrero rocher) and coffee for dessert and they were delicious! Move over krispy kreme!
Kudos to the guys at Pie Republic we will be back.
J. L.
Food bangs. Never disappointed. Super friendly staff and are always welcoming. May have to wait a little if it’s busy but defo worth coming!!! Recommend getting their desserts too, won’t regret !!
B.
Amazing waffles and milkshake! Going to try the pies next time. The staff were friendly and helpful. The waffle with icecream was huge and very tasty. Very good value.
H. N.
Came to this place in the early hours of the morning for suhoor, around 2:15 am. The guys there said they might not be able to serve us in time, but they pulled out all the stops to ensure we got our food and was able to eat before the fast began. Good food and great customer service.
M. i. b. I. a. L.
Food is nice but maybe a little over priced for what you get.
However the staff are extremely friendly and is a nice environment. Sometimes they they are not able to offer their full menu. Still like this place and will continue to go back though.
S. M.
We really enjoyed the Pie and mash, it was our first time coming down after being recommended by a friend. So glad we have found a great place that does comfort food.
t.
Food was delicious just the service needs to improve slightly 😋 😜
P. H.
Best pie & mash in England. Have been eating here on & off for over 40 yrs. I live in Kent & I still drive down to eat here. Highly recommend here. Great food & great prices.
A. A.
Food was satisfactory but service in terms of food delivery from the moment of order to the point of serving was absolutely rubbish and dismal. Wasn't as good as I expected it to be especially after a lot of what I had heard from people. The food was average, have had much better in other food shops. Given that I've only tried out this shop once, I'll give it a second chance but not for quite a while.
M. I.
Nice place. Unfortunately when my friends and I went, two of their pies were
not available to order. This was a shame, however we chose different options and the food was good. The only thing I'd say is that the gravy was a bit bland.
ن.
Tasty breakfast and pies but not everything on the menu is available
M. A.
Delicious food! Yummy pies... and excellent desserts! A must come restaurant for nice trendy chilled out food!
Upton lane is an upcoming street with new food places and coffee shops opening up!

M. H.
Went there first time today must say mashallah the breakfast was so delicious and on point and the pie was extremely yummy too! Food was nice and hot and the tea was perfect! Will definitely go again in shaa allah
M. F.
Pies were nice however the Mojito was a let down !! Done get me wrong it was nice but all it’s is your paying for is 7up with strawberry syrup a few mint leaves and 2 piece lime for £4!! Really ?
S. A.
Hakka pie is a must. Cod & chips are very good.
A. K. (.
I simply love thier Coffee. Latte is awesome. Also the food they serve is healthy and freshly made. Obviously tasty. It's not cheap though. But all worth it.
S.
I ordered the Coxs bazar pie with two sides. It was really filling and id say its worth the money
Get the orange & pomegranate sanpallegrino drink, thats nice too
A. D.
Best tasting pie place in East London. The £20 minimum order for delivery is excessive though as I always have order more than I want just to hit the £20.
C. S.

A. K.

Food here was really good took my parents and they loved it too. Staff are really polite and friendly which is always good to see.
Q. N.
Good pie choices but customer service isnt their strong point. Would be good if they accepted credit cards as its inconvenient having to go to nearest cash machine which doesnt work a lot of the time
N. K.
I've never given something 100 marks. Quality of food and the service. Superb. Drove almost 30 miles just to tuck in.
R. G.

(Translated) I highly recommend for anyone who wants to eat typical English and halal pies. However, take them unaccompanied.
They are fatty and tasteless (coleslow, sweet potato fries, grilled vegetables and cheese fries) we had to throw everything away.
But we will go back, because the pies were really delicious and made fast.
(Original)
