Reviews of Print House Bar & Kitchen
J. S.
Great space, with a nice terrace, bar and sourdough pizza! Friendly staff. They also have a mezcal / tequila bar. Overall great offering for the area.
A. T.
This is just the best around Stratford / Bow area. It is based in the new Sugar Island development. They have a vegan cafe during the morning and it's a chilled, pet friendly atmosphere where you could even spend some hours to work there.
Amazing pizzas at night. Sunday roast is top notch, with meat being sourced locally!! It's a must go!!
F. S.
Such a lovely place for a pizza and a pint. Really friendly staff, comfy sofas and warm atmosphere. A great team up with Jerms cafe, which has brilliant smoothies and tasty vegan snacks. I’m a bit obsessed with their pretty crockery and lovely presentation of food
D. N.
Excellent vibe and located by the river with great outdoor tables. Margherita pizza and beer were great. All covid precautions are in place. Friendly staff and very clean facilities. There is table tennis outside that adds an extra touch to the nice selection of music played while having their interesting cocktails. Highly recommended
P. B.
Fantastic venue, pizza and charcuterie board were amazing, team really helpful and friendly, as mentioned in another review online ordering system is a bit clunky but on second visit was a lot easier as card details remembered but such a small price to pay for a cracking meal and really good value to, keep up the great service and amazing food.
G. C.
Wonderful food, their Sunday lunches are absolutely superb, it's a modern looking bar with a real "feel good" atmosphere with a large outdoor seating area, the staff are particularly excellent, friendly, polite and more than happy to help, it's a "must" go to place if you are in Stratford.
A. L.
Lovely, relaxed place for brunch. Delicious healthy food. Slowly making our way through the menu but so far everything has been absolutely delicious.
D. O.
Nice house lager, which can be enjoyed in a cool space. The staff are also friendly and welcoming, something not always guaranteed in London.
M. P.
Very friendly staff. Always happy to help and accommodate a family with a small child and a dog. Excellent tea and coffee on a very comfy sofa.
C. C.
Great location and much needed in this part of London. Lovely being by the water in a relaxed and well presented environment. Has loads of potential, but currently lets itself down by using an annoying online system to view the menu and pay for your food and drinks... system didn't work for me or my friend, and was a test of our patience. Lovely staff, but they need a seasoned retailer at the helm to tighten their performance. Long waits for drinks, no communication with the customer, reactive rather than proative service, pizza took much longer than the ten minutes advised... But I feel there is hope, but not without someone in charge who can work to improve on the detail of their overall service. Little point sailing in a beautiful sea if your ship doesn't have a rudder...

I spotted a post about the soft opening of this place and went along randomly on a Wednesday mid afternoon. I had the mini burger, greens and potato. Delicious. The mini burgers are to die for.
I went back two days later with a friend and we got this tray of delights. Delicious!!! The nan bread was fantastic. More potatoes. The charred cabbage was fab. Lovely staff.
Worth the effort to get to Stratford.

Nice to see PrintHouse back open and Flank is good pairing. The Duck was very tasty, perfectly cooked and in a fairly hot curry sauce. Wasn't really a fan of the naans; they didn't quite taste right and the duck is made to be shared between at least 2 but there were only 3 naans for some reason rather than 4.
Had Cheese Nugs, Burnt Beef naan and chicken wings for starters. Didn't like the wings very much at all, the burnt beef naan is very expensive for what it is. The cheese nugs were good.
Overall, PrintHouse is a good venue, and Flank do good food, but didn't really like the small plates we had.
I. Q.
Isolated from the traffic with a massive outdoors area. Pizza selection is decent although they are stingy on the use of toppings.
Good live music too. Check the schedule.
All in all, a nice place in the middle of nowhere.
A. S.
A great place, just along the canal, a fantastic place during summers, but... But the beer selection is limited, and with all the new breweries existing in London, it doesn't make any sense...
T.
We are very lucky to have this place as a local. It's not a conventional pub but a clean, airy, comfortable and sophisticated restaurant & bar that isn't pretentious at all.
The menu is small but refined, with a good selection of drinks on offer and service to match.
Having the Print House as an option for takeaway lunch during the lockdown further highlights how fortunate we are to have this place in the local area.
A. V.
Heard this had reopened after some time so decided to pop in on a Sunday for a roast. It was - hands down - the best roast I’ve had in London. Portion size is epic, but the quality of the meat and veg is phenomenal. We had the pork belly and chicken which were both out of this world. The house lager, too, is a winner and cheap. We’ll be back again for sure.
F. S.
It is funny how excellence is so often found by accident. If you live in London, chances are you wouldn't normally end up in this high street. But you really should. The roast is a masterpiece. Every element cooked to perfection, everything delicious. Their gravy is like silk and it brings everything together. You need an extremely skilled chef to create a dish like that. Literally no negatives. Put a big heart on your personal google map so you always know your way back here. Guaranteed satisfaction.
M. S.
Delicious food and nice staff.
This place stands out in the area. We got surprised at first as we didn't expect those prices in Stratford, but once we got the food we realised that was totally worth what we paid.
I love how, instead of having a massive menu, they just have a small selection of dishes and everything is just absolutely delicious. The beef rib is the best meat I ever had in UK. The recipe, the cooking point... Everything was just perfect. The sides we got were great as well.
On top of that they have friendly staff and owners who came to check our thoughts on the food and were really interested in our feedback.
Hope these guys do well, so glad to finally get a place like this near home.

I have a pleasant experience whenever I stop at the Printhouse: the atmosphere is lovely, drinks are great and pizza is amazing! As an Italian living in London, I really love the fact that the best pizza in East London is right around the corner. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend it 🙂
Great job, guys!
J. W.
Cosy atmosphere with decent food! Staff were attentive and music was pleasant.
K. V.
The perfect place in East London. Lots of space and great pizza.
J. B. a. j.
The food in this bar could be so much better. Spend the money get a great chef and then you would be flying. Nice waterside views and staff are friendly
M.
Awesome veggie pizzas and vegan cafe. Live nearby and love this place. Keep coming back, covid experience was great, tables are far away from each other. The ordering website took a few attempts to work on my phone.
They also sell unsuspecting plants you buy and drown at home.
M. S.
Really good food, speedy service and friendly servers. Excited to see how this place turns out now it has re-opened!
R. L.
Best experience in the Covid era so far, service was polite, friendly and attentive. Easy to walk in and plenty of space with beer garden in sunshine all day. Good gluten free beer selection and decent pizzas too.
J. R.
Nice location good service and drinks. Could be amazing with a big crowd and some outdoor djs/bands.
G. H.
Lovely outside space with plenty of tables and spaced apart. Staff were really nice and there was a good selection of drinks. Pizza was really good too. Inside was clean, bright and modern.
S. V.
Fabulous experience!!!- Fantastic place with impressive food quality & taste, great service and beautiful setting. The staff members who served and interacted with us were outstanding- We'll definitely be returning for more!!!!
C.
Amazing location, decent beer, great pizza. Food was a tad greasy for my taste, but a quick dab with a napkin and it was fine. Pizza base and crust was A+
s.
Only stopped for a coffee, staff were friendly and approachable. Coffee was nice but should have gone for the large.
O. J.
Flank pop up is amazing, unsure if it is still there at the moment as menu seems to have changed recently
s. s.
Cute & nice atmosphere + dog friendly!!! We sat out in the terrace area as weather was on point as well as their service! Vegan hotspot too! See you guys soon 😎
T. J.
Great beer and tasty pub food. Had lamb sausage, naan, sliced potatoes and picked veggies along with a couple of cold IPAs. Yum!
m. b.
Great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff and house beer is superb. Recommended.
a. m.
Nice friendly staff place lay out is superb. Not closed up. And space outside unbeatable
J. T.
Great ambience, Great good quality food without being pretentious, great staff in a day an age where the service industry lacks a soul made feels really welcome would absolutely recommend!
S. C.
This place has a real opportunity. They have a great location on the canal, and there are very few nice places nearby. However, they seem to be going down the nightclub style route, with loud pumping music outside. Their beer selection is also very poor, given all of the excellent breweries nearby. I realise this just comes down to personal preference, but this really isn't mine. For me, the places along the canal up near Hackney Wick are much nicer - you can have a conversation!
B. W.
Huge gorgeous terrace with top class pizzas made in front of your eyes. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. A place you can spend all day at hanging out with friends on the weekend! Highly recommended!
P. A.
My partner and I arranged to meet some friends here for a quick drink, but we found ourselves staying for the night. There was a great buzz about the place and the food was just fabulous. The staff were very accommodating when we asked if we could pull the comfy sofas together. We'll definitely be coming back here again.
R. T.
Lovely setting and really nice, attentive staff.
T. H.
Very nice, aesthetic place. Enjoyed sitting there having a drink.
J.
Came to dine-in, greeted by a lovely waitor who was polite and informed us how to order by app. The pizza crust was among the best I've had and toppings were generous. A lovely local gem which I will come back regularly, especially during summer given the spacious outdoor dining area.
M.
Went here 'cos a mate remembers the chef from his Brighton days. Pretty stunning food. Not your run of the mill menu, it is slightly difficult to work out what you are getting without asking, but all well worth it. Every mouthful a delight. If you have any room left their choc brownie is the best, and I've tried a few.
N. S.
It's a magic corner in the east. By the River Lea is big and spacious. Good food and perfect place for a quiet drink or taking one of the long tables for drinks with friends (when we can do this again).
R. R.
A hidden gem in Stratford, so pleased to have found this place. Perfect for a sunny day as lots of outside seating. We can't wait to go back for the food launching this week, the menu sounds amazing! Staff were fab, really attentive and great with our 18 month year old. Can't wait for our next visit!
K. H.
We have been regulars at this place since they reopened as the Print House. It was always our go to place to take our visitors. Part of the charm was the canal side views which sadly the Print House have now sold off as well as the parking. As this place is a bit out of the centre of Stratford the parking was really useful so this is a real shame and has meant our visits have now halved. Despite this the decor is lovely and we love the food. Sunday roasts are particular favourites of ours! Service is always friendly. We were hoping to use the venue as a party destination in the future as it is possible to book as a venue but sadly the loss of parking has meant this will no longer be possible so back to the drawing board.
B.
Excellent food, delicious, good service. We really enjoyed. Mmmmmmmmmm so good
D. M. V. N.
Nice local bar and resto. Good selection of wines from around the world sold by the glass or bottle.
Good gin menu and other cocktails. They also made their own lager. We will definitely visit again.
A. M.
Lovely surroundings but the beer was pretty pricey
P. K.
Love this place, a good easy place to be in the evening. The food options have been low in the last 12 months and can understand so.. the staff is good and so is their beer !!
r. f.
Food is amazing. I had a selection of meats and some of the best beef I've ever had. Reasonably priced drinks.
Great location for my staff outing, really large table and all food arrived perfectly timed.
P. C.
Bar and restaurant in a building that was an ink factory until 2005. Reasonable range of beers and the prices were OK for London.

Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere. The cocktails were delicious. The staff were very attentive to your needs. Had a works night out and they accommodated us perfectly.
J. L.
Great bar with lovley terrace. Had an issue with me probably clicking the wrong thing by mistake but the guys sorted it out with no issue. Great food aswell.
I. P.
They used to have great meat plate for two to share, haven't seen it in the menu recently :(
Huge space, so can accommodate large groups/bookings. Have bit outdoor seating area too.Staff are great and friendly, easy to talk to!
I. W.
Very nice atmosphere and lovely bar staff
F. O.
I’m so thrilled this place is open again, definitely my favourite dining (and drinking!) experience in East London. Family friendly which is perfect for ya to bring our little one and the staff are very accommodating. Love love love this place!
A. S.
A bar restaurant with a fitting industrial decor, sumptuous food, delightful staff, and fair prices. It has an outdoor area - unfortunately smaller than it once was - to enjoy the sunshine, but the cosy sofas inside are equally inviting.
It could perhaps do with light entertainment - (some board games, maybe, to shore up the community bar feel) but make no mistake, Print House is the best place to unwind in the neighborhood.
H. W.

Came here for a roast, lovely clean restaurant, with good music.
Amazingggg roast so much food and everything cooked beautifully.
One of the best meals I have had in a while and the lovely chef came out to talk to us.
Will definelty be back!

This is an absolute gem hidden on the Bow flyover (that I secretly hope remains undiscovered). As someone who's lived in East London for nearly five years I really appreciate good places to eat, drink and chill, and this place ticks all three boxes. It's never overly busy which is great because the vibe is always laid back and easy - it's an escape for any Londoner!
Staff are friendly and helpful, and don't make you feel weird about staying for a few hours with a drink and a good book. I've eaten here too and the food is always great! A little bit on the more expensive side, but definitely worth it. I'd really recommend this place!

Perfect lemonade and orange juice after a hard working day...Hugs from BBC TRAVEL 🥰🥰🥰🥰😍😍😍😍😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
D. C.
Went after the lockdown and they are allowing only outside tables maintaining the social distancing between people. Orders and payments are only online. Quick service and great wood oven baked pizza!
I. T.
Incredible food and massive portions, best roast I’ve had in London! Lovely staff, decor and atmosphere just added to a wonderful experience! Definitely coming back for more!

Initially we were confused. In a cab we saw the sign for the Riverside Bar and Grill. But thinking we would like to try it for dinner we could find nothing on the internet about the Riverside Bar & Grill. Then, Print House Bar and Kitchen popped up on a google map and we figured it out. The restaurant has a pleasant hip upbeat ambiance. Our server was excellent. Wine very good. Food very good and reasonable priced. We will go back.
M. M.
A amazing place for a relaxing drink and bite to eat. Family friendly . The new menu is awesome and we plan to work our way through it. Really nicely refurbished . Highly recommended .
R. G.
Reasonable selection of nicely priced beers. With view to a multi coloured tall wooden structure. Very friendly staff and very quiet during week nights. Great ambience tucked away between Mile End and Stratford
D. C.
A large bar & restaurant by the water in Stratford, which takes its name from the building's former use as (I think) a printing site for The Guardian newspaper.
It's recently re-opened with a good selection of beers (inc Founders IPA), and a slow and smoked BBQ menu from Flank, run by chef Tom Griffiths.
Flank also has sites in Spitalfields and Victoria, but this large kitchen gives them much more scope for a big BBQ menu.
It's all great, but the the meats are jaw dropping. I'll definitely be back!
J. D. K.
We've been to the Print House (or Dane's Yard as it used to be called) a number of times over the last few years and the food is always of a good standard. We went last Sunday, sat outside in the courtyard and had two lamb shank roasts which were tasty and melting off the bone. They were good value at £13 and arrived very quickly.
There's a decent selection of drinks with some good bottled local craft beer (the tap stuff is mostly continental) and some excellent gins.
It's set right by the Three Mills Wall river but unfortunately at the moment there are boards up obscuring the view (due to access improvement works for when West Ham move into the Olympic Stadium). But it's still a nice setting.
Oh and I still really like the giant Olympic torch sculpture just outside - it's a beautiful local landmark!
S. F.
Great food and very nice atmosphere. Nice addition to this area of Stratford. Its rather a meat place but the only veggie option they had was still delicious!
E. k.
Print House Bar & Kitchen Stratford. Avatar Daniel Pharaoh. I've had the pleasure of visiting the Print House on more than one occasion, thanks to having a few ...
Relaxed, airy bar with an open kitchen and terrace, for wines, cocktails and a gastropub menu.

I absolutely love this place the bar staff and management are some off the best polit people I have meet they make you so welcome brilliant place to
I. I.
Kind service and amazing food. Rustic but made with visibly a lot of cooking knowledge.
The spot is cozy outside and a bit more classy inside. I would totally recommend the place!
R. D.
Great potential! It's a really nicely done refurbishment of an old warehouse. These types of venues are sadly lacking in the area as it's dominated by huge glass and steel skyscrapers with little or no character. So it's a welcome addition. Has a good choice of lagers, ipa and wheat beer on tap. Unfortunately, it is a bit isolated. Hopefully this will improve once the enormous construction site behind is completed.
N. P.
This place has a great potential, but having to order over the phone and give all your details including your date of birth, is totally off-putting.
C. C. F.
Very nice atmosphere, beautiful views of the river too. Will definitely be going back.
D. D.
Lovely location by the River Lea. Staff really nice with ordering via phone without downloading am app.
P. R.
Great spot! The only place I'd return too after spending three weeks in the area trying all the local bars and eateries. Real charm, good food and good beer.
Nice outdoor seating area and live music when we visited.
S. B.
Nice pizza. Good vibe
N. C.
Amazing little find down Stratford High Street. Lovely feel to it, great drinks and fantastic food... The toilets were DISGUSTING though (both male and female) which ruined the overall experience but I'd still recommend it (maybe check the cleaners have been in first...!)
J. P.
Nice place with a large terrace along the canal. Interesting cocktails and drinks. Excellent pizzas on the menu.
L. D.
Delicious food, outstanding service and great atmosphere. This was my first visit and it didn't disappoint. The food and the service was excellent and the staff couldn't have been more pleasant or helpful. A super dinning experience.
N. W.
I've just found this place today and I'm very happy to have found it. I work around the corner and finally there is a lovely place in Stratford to relax with good food and good drinks. Ambience is excellent, the staff were friendly and the battered haddock I had was superb.
N. H.
Fantastic bbq food, great space, and the staff are so welcoming. This is easily the best restaurant in Stratford. Can’t wait to go again.
A. V.
Absolutely amazing food! The staff were nice and friendly and the cocktails were even better. Such a lovely atmosphere
D. T.
Attended a wedding here. Really good feeling and great decor. Marred slightly in Summer 2016 by the view being spoiled due to a temporary fence that had been built around what should have been a canal view by the council. I'd go back as just the two of us.
S. M.
Fantaic pub with amazing food, brilliant atmosphere, superb selection of beers (including Kirin ichiban) and great staff (most notably the barman Carlos). Well worth a visit and the best pub in the area by far
A. H.
Great food and good service. Reasonable prices at the bar. Had a work xmas do here and all were happy 😁🥂
B. S.
Nice seating outside by the canal, right next to the new development. Live DJ / music, pizza was great too
M. W.
Fantastic place!! Menu is limited but food is outstanding, staff are friendly and couches are comfy!!
I. S.
This place used to be our local gem, but sadly it feels like they've lost their charm now :( The staff have lost their enthusiasm, the view of the canal has been boarded off, and the food was just OK & overpriced on our recent visit in July 2016. The choice of beers was very limited and disappointingly 3 of the beers form the menu were out of stock. Hope this place improves soon, but I'm not going to be rushing back!
V. S.
My absolute favourite place to eat and hang out in Stratford! Brilliant menu and family-friendly, would highly recommend.
S. W.
Only a portion of chips and an Estrella but seriously, one of the greatest plates of chips of my entire life. Fat. Glass like exterior. Mash like interior. Michelin, triple cooked, Heston quality chips. Bravo.
T. M. F.
Genuinely fantastic food. Great drinks. Relaxed atmosphere. Perfect for entertaining groups.
M. B.
Favorite places in Stratford. Friendly staff, good food and nice cocktails. Great for a quiet drink after work or Sunday lunch

D. G.
Amazing staff, good location and food. Venue itself is very well thought out and huge! Would visit again.
S. M.
Delighted that this wonderful place is opening up again. It’s a brilliant addition to the area and just the thought of the menu is already making my mouth water!
C. H.
If only they did hand pulled cask ale it would be a 5 star.
S. H.
It’s back - the best bar/kitchen for miles around! Beside the canal it will be 5 star when the works around it finish.
p.

Very decent Sunday roast in an area still missing any alternatives so gets all the stars! The portions were very big but maybe could be more balanced as I somehow finished all potatoes way earlier than meat and veg. Anyways, I’ve enjoyed many happy meals at the Print House and wish them all the best 💪💪💪
