Reviews of Rhythm Kitchen E17

The food, ambience and service was so uplifting. We ordered the oxtail and dumplings, plantain and salt fish fritters, and our kind waiter recommended we have more chips too! Thank goodness she did as the food was so flavourful and moreish. It was like a hug! Another lovely surprise was that we won a raffle and got a free t shirt and silky head scarf! Regardless of whether you win the raffle, the experience was a true winner.

One of my fave place for jerk chicken and salt fish fritters. I was hesitant to try the Mac and cheese as I’ve had other Mac and cheese that haven’t been so good but this one is the best I’ve tasted. Rice and peas were yum and the jerk gravy sauce was perfect! Salt fish fritters are a must try. My friend got the chana vegan curry which she loved!
I have now tried the goat curry for the first time which so flavourful! Their portions are quite big, I had some left over for tomorrow’s lunch.

What a hidden gem in Walthamstow. Came here with my family for a Sunday meal. Had such lovely attentive service from our host. She welcomed and us and was warm with her demeanor.
The food was DELICIOUS and authentic. We thanked the Chef and will be back again. Most likely for the bottomless Sunday brunch.
I adored the rum punch and will recommend to all
L. T.
The staff was friendly the food was amazing. I enjoyed the chickpea channa and saltfish frittas. The Sunrise Mocktail was also perfect

Gorgeous place, great atmosphere, incredible food and cocktail slushies!!! Highly recommended. It was my first time and I'm definitely going back for more and getting some takeaway delivered to my lazy door 5*

Went for my birthday. Food was amazing - fresh and full of flavour! Will definitely visit again when were next in London! Thank you!

I want to send a BIG thank you to Delroy and all the staff at Rhythm Kitchen. Not only did they save me by hosting my daughter's 18th Birthday dinner, they did it with only 1 week notice and catered for all of our 37 guests. Even though we was only expecting 32 they never complained when 5 extras people attended. They was patient, polite and every professional.
The food was AMAZING and full of flavour, cooked to absolute perfection. Their cocktails, some which are designed by them themselves are also amazing a full of alcohol. Their prices are also very good.
Rhythm Kitchen is one of those gem restaurants that should be experienced by all. Thank u again for having us all and I'll see u in December when my birthday comes.

My cousin and I had the bottomless brunch to celebrate her birthday. We had a choice of three rum cocktails - which were all equally as nice - and the drinks flowed continuously! Our glasses were never empty and we loved that you could actually taste the rum in each cocktail! The food was absolutely beautiful. We'd recommend the curry goat and the ackee and saltfish! The portions were plentiful and every bite tasted like heaven. THE best Caribbean food that I have had for a LONG time! Our waitress and the chef were very attentive, who both came over to ensure the food/drinks were to our tastes. Prior to our visit, I was contacted by Ann to establish our menu preferences, which added an extra special touch! This was topped off with some birthday rum shots on the house before going on our onward journey. Thank you Rhythm Kitchen for giving us the best vibes and a birthday celebration to remember!

Great vibe and food. Staff were really friendly and service was quick!

The food was delicious 😋
Great friendly staff too

Lovely gem of a restaurant. Very nicely designed and stands out on the street, lovely rustic feel. The food is very well prepared and tasty. Traditional Caribbean food that feels a little more special than a usual local takeaway. The saltfish fritters are absolutely DIVINE!! Decent prices, not expensive and the service is lovely, the lady that hosts is very friendly and welcoming. Love it!
P. H.
Booked as a table of 6, which is such a bonus being able to book in advance. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is very calm and relaxed and makes you feel at home.
The food is very authentic and is bursting with flavour. I had curried goat and the meat just falls away from the bone. You also get two sides which is excellent value for money.
The restaurant also offers deals on cocktails. If you don't drink alcohol, give their mocktails a try - I recommend the sunrise.
There is plenty of seating inside.

Had catering delivered for a 50th Bday and couldn’t praise Ann and the team enough
From the start of the process Ann has been extremely responsive and helpful in choosing the menu We knew the food is amazing as we regularly order from there but now all our guests have been impressed with the food Absolutely delicious Highly recommended

update:
If anything, they have improved since I wrote my last review!
Authentic, delicious, mouth popping flavours grace the food from Rhythm Kitchen.
Finally, curry goat (sorry Levi's) that tastes Jamaican is available outside of the home (sorry all other nationalities 😀😀)
The plantain, just right; the chicken soup - tasty indeed; the decor - contemporary and the rhythm... well that's in the food and in the air - with authentic, real reggae music pulsing away, in the background.
The price... very reasonable indeed, our price per head, for my party of four, was a little over £20, and that's including service.
Now, for me, the staff always' make the business' perhaps even more so in smaller independent restaurants - and our host, 'Superb' Shantel, was knowledgeable about the cuisine and thoroughly engaging, she was attentive to our needs and had a beautiful smile throughout.
Having a Caribbean chef, local boy Leroy, ensures the food significantly trumps 'Levi Roots' restaurant, down in Stratford - I won't even bother to mention the fake food chain on the corner of the High St.
In my view, highly highly recommended.
If you like quality Caribbean rum, then you can add another 'highly' to that recommendation 😃 you'll be spoilt for choice!
P. A.
Just delicious. Chunky, tender curried goat in a lovely sauce, great jerk chicken where you could taste all the individual spices. You get two sides with each main and the portions are generous, so you better be hungry when you arrive! The cocktail I had was delicious and unusual - a mix of Jamaican and Italian which sounded weird but really worked. When the bill arrived we couldn't believe how reasonable it was, £44 for 2 large mains, 4 sides, 2 cocktails. The only very minor downside was that the heavy iron chairs screech extremely loudly whenever anyone gets up or sits down, like nails down a blackboard. Slightly ruins the ambience but a tiny complaint. I'll be rushing back.

Had a fantastic meal last time I visited here for the first time. However, this time was very disappointing. The server did a good job but was not used to the role and was heard to say that she doesn't usually work there. Having said that she did well and was so helpful considering she was on her own. The ambience was a little flat and no lovely bbq smells from the kitchen like the last time. The fish fritters were very heavy and doughy and the bbq beef ribs were not really all that and barely hot. Not sure it was the same chef as last time but I won't be rushing back. The chick pea curry was ok but a little bland. Best thing were the rum punches and rum cake and ice cream which were delicious.
S. T.
Haven't been here for years but thought I would try it again to see if its changed.
Oh my goodness
The curry goat roti was the best I have tasted in the UK. And the roti was a dahl-pori. It was to die for.
The Gunness Punch is not overly spiced or laced with too my alcohol. Again, a lovely addition to the meal.
If I could give 6 stars for this dish. I would have.

Nice small restaurant in E17. We had booked a 9pm time slot due to Covid 19 guidelines. Staff were very helpful and friendly explaining dishes and options. The menu was simple, easy to read and wasn’t busy full of items. We choose a Jerk chicken platter with six sides (rice, chips and jerk chip), Jerk fish dish, Jerk bbq wing and mocktail drinks. The jerk chips was just normal chips with peri peri powder on it, was expecting chips drizzled in jerk sauce hopefully next time and a new concept for the chef. The hot sauce, food & drink came very quickly, hot and tasty and beautifully presented. The Caribbean feeling and ambience flooded back and the sisters in the back table laughing created that atmosphere I remember. It was a lovely evening and the discount offer also helped and we were happy with the service charge of £8 which I only pay with great service in this case it was worth paying that. Look forward to going back soon.
I. B.
Amazing food put it this way as soon as i ate i wanted to sleep. Food was wrapped accordingly for delivery and even my mango cocktail was delicious. Best Caribbean in Walthamstow.
J. H.
Can't recommend this place enough. The food is well cooked and seasoned, the drinks are strong but tasty, you get good portions of food at a good price. Really really difficult to fault
M. W.
Fantastic cooking we had a variety of meals all cooked fantastically well and tasted delicious. A note to all who like hot sauce or pepper sauce. Be very careful what you ask for. There is no messing with this.
S. G.
Pleasant Jamaican / Caribbean food. One of the better restaurants in the area.
We visited on a quiet weekday evening as the only guests, service was excellent.
Wish I could give this a better rating but I felt the rice and peas (kidney beans) were scant and cocktails (almost £10) bit expensive.
Overall a good place with a few opportunities to improve. 🇯🇲
S. S.
This place does the best Caribbean food I’ve ever had. And I’m a fiend for it. It’s dangerous now we’ve found it. Bloody nice staff too. Highly recommend
M. G.
It really hurts me to give Rhythm Kitchen this rating but due to a few issues I can't, in all honesty give it any higher.
So a group of 6 of us went for what appears to be there very popular Sunday buffet deal. Drink on tap for a few hours, and a choice of a set few items for dinner. Great sounds like heaven.
The restaurant was already packed with a few big groups already enjoying themselves. We were looking forward to seeing what they were enjoying.
So we all ordered a drink so we had time to look over the menu and at least had a drink to partake of while chatting.
Right, 1 member of the group was driving, another does not drink. When asked what drinks were the alternatives, as the drinks on tap were all alcoholic, there response was they had not considered it, or thought of an alternative as no one had asked before. I had to suppress my laugh, and astonishment at that response, because at that time I believe we were actually speaking to a manager.
Anyway we managed to get through our drinks order, and and ordered our main from the set menu. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. For what turned out to be nearly 2hrs 15mins for the food to arrive. When we asked where the food was, previous to it arriving we were told its coming, its coming.
When it did arrive, and we asked why it had taken over 2 hrs to arrive we were told because we wanted our food to all arrive at the same time, meaning starters and main.
Now just to point out we had all ordered the same starter, which were saltfish cakes. 3 of which arrived on a bed of salad with a dip. They were not the size of my fist, nor the size of a tennis ball, so why it had taken so long to prepare under 20 of the for a group is unclear.
Then I'd like to point out that we didn't actually ask for our food to be brought out at the same time. We were neither asked by our server, nor anyone that attended to our table at any time. And no one from our table hinted that this should take place at any time. So why this occured is beyond us.
Aside from the slow delivery of the meal the food was delicious.
Our table had been chatting away from the moment we entered the establishment. As soon as we put fork to mouth the entire table fell silent.
The food was succulent, moist, delicious and zingy, delighting all my taste buds at once. And the sauce I could drink a gallon of. They compliment their dishes so very well. They may very well be, just another mango sauce, or chilli jam, but they have brought them up to another level, and handled them so very delicately and with love.
If I had to fault anything with the food I would say that the portion for the set Sunday meal is a bit small. The drink is full flowing, but the meal portion is a bit on the small side. We ordered a starter and a desert but I still felt like I was hungry after leaving (I'm one of the non drinkers lol). I think that's due to the portion size.
So in summing everything up. The staff are great and very attentive. Work steadily while they have food and drink to serve.
The food is to die for. Just needs to be a lot quicker in coming out of the kitchen.

Amazing and definitely authentic caribbean food. Complimentary rum punch on arrival from the wonderful ladies here.
M. F.
Great tasting food and cocktails. Staff were really friendly. We’ll be back!
M. S.
Amazing food. Fantastic rum collection. Best Caribbean restaurant I've ever been to.
K. I.
Gorgeous food.... I had the vegan kidney bean and dumpling stew... so yummy. Lovely service
A. Q.
We ordered takeaway: the mains, Curry goat and BBQ chicken both came with 2 sides, so we opted for 2x rice & peas, fried plantain and coleslaw. We also ordered mac 'n' cheese. The food came in generous portions, the BBQ chicken was delicious and as for the curry goat, this was the BEST curry goat E V E R!!!! We can't stop talking about it; if you've never tried curry goat we would highly recommend this dish. Everything ordered was lovely, well seasoned and the staff were very polite and gave a warm welcome. We'll be back for sure.
C. K.
Really delicious! Cannot call myself an expert of caribbean food - but i can say the food was incredibly delicious. We shared as a group of 6 the wings, fritters, dumplings, jerk fish, jerk chicken, bbq beef rib, goat curry & roti. The chilli sauce is delicious is you can handle your spice. I want to eat everything all over again! Delicious food, lovely ambiance, great cocktails.
L. S.
Absolutely delicious food & drinks, and restaurant is lovely to be in, really friendly and great atmosphere 😊

Nice Caribean food, I took my boss here to have Jerk chicken, rice and peas. It was the best I've had.
S. C.
Loved it. Delicious, authentic food. Friendly and professional staff
M. D.
Really like the place, the service was a bit slow but the superb waitress gave us a complimentary rum cocktail. F9d worth the wait
M. C.
Takeaway of: jerk chicken + 2 sides (rice and peas and plantain). The wait wasn't long at all, the prices were also decent. If you're hungry for meat, I'd definitely size up the meat dish. The chicken was delicious, not too salty and the rice was good too. Would definitely go again.
A. T.
Food was good, nice selection of rum. Good place to have an evening meal. The reason for 4 star, the waiting.
C.
Lovely food, had curry goat, rice and peas and a few sides and jerk wings. All dishes were delicious. My friends had the jerk chicken and they really enjoyed their meals. Great ambience, and just a nice lunch experience.
R. M.
Smooth service and awesome food for our takeaway tonight, can't wait to try more of the menu! Curry goat roti - my first time trying goat - was delicious. I imagine the saltfish fritters are perfection when freshly fried, so I look forward to dining in when things open up again.
P. B.
Excellent Caribbean Food, personal favourite is the jerk chicken with the Rice and Peas. Don't forget the Jerk Sauce!
G. H.
Wow what a treat and flavour!! I have been wanting to try your food for sooo long now and then saw you were on Deliveroo and jumped at the chance! We got the whole jerk chicken with sides - great portions and enough for leftovers tomorrow! My mouth is zinging with flavour! Can't wait to be able to come into the restaurant. Thank you so much - you're an asset to the community! Grace x
D. G.
Excellent brunch meal.
Fried dumplings or coconut waffle with fried chicken or score and saltfish
3 bottomless drink choices rim punch, mango Bellini or prosecco.
S. A.
Impromptu decision to go there the day before pre Christmas tier 3 restrictions (before tier 4 was even a thing!) We booked online and was easily accommodated. The food was delicious (our eyes bigger than our bellies!) and so was the cocktails. Staff were friendly as well...Can't fault it!!
We will be adding to our list of lockdown takeaways and look forward to dining in when we can.
B. G.
Nice and bright deco
Cool place to eat
Loved hearing the music of the 70s and 80s and earlier
Staff very pleasant and attentive
Food was delicious and just the right portions
Was our anniversary the day before and was treated to some complimentary fruit which was very refreshing
The Manager was engaging, informative and also open to suggestions esoecialky of serving tea/coffee which unfortunately they don't do now but are considering
Would definitely eat here again or order a take away
Location was gr8 on Hoe St
Highly recommended
A. T.
They do some great Caribbean foods and drinks.
H.
Nice food but needed more flavour. The rice and peas were dry as hell and were almost inedible.
T. W.
Deeeelicious!! Fun, atmospheric, great value, and superb staff who clearly love working here. Vegetarian (vegan) options were superb as were the baileys & amaretto cocktails.
Highly recommend, I'll definitely be back..:)
J. S.
I've been to the restaurant quite a few times over the years, but unlike previous occasions, the food was quite ordinary and unexciting; there wasn't the flavour that I am used to experiencing.
I also had the dumplings to start, but they would really have benefitted from being accompanied with a variety of dips.
We all have off days and I will be back.
D. F.
Visited Rhythm kitchen with a friend and was not disappointed. Reasonable waiting time for meal which arrived hot, very tasty and good sized portions. Will definitely be visiting again. There isn't any free parking around the area until after 6.30pm but you can park in Selbourne walk car park which is about 6 mins walk to the restaurant.
S. C.
Great barbecue chicken and really good strong cocktails - 2 for 1 from 7pm to 8pm on the day we went
B. Q. T.
Staff were amazing, warm and welcoming, especially Thea, she deserves an applause from the owner. The food was great but when you go to a restaurant, it's both the food and the service that keep people going back. We have no complaint whatsoever!
D. C.
Rhythm kitchen is the place to be when you're around the Walthamstow area
K. S.
Have been a few times now and the food is of great quality and is equally delicious. Also the staff have always been so attentive and amazing! Would highly recommend
M. L.
I was recommended this place by a friend and I was impressed from my very first experience! I now travel from Surrey to get takeaway as the whole family love the food. Food is amazing, staff are friendly and restaurant has a great ambience. Definitely worth the journey from Surrey!
S.
Visited on 27th August as a group of 6. The food was very good for all and the service from Parveen (hope I spelt her name correct) was just as good. Social distancing and the wearing of masks made everyone feel safe and gave a lovely experience.
Would definitely visit again
C. T.
Rhythm Kitchen does it right! The owner is still always in the kitchen. I get the Jerk chicken plate with sides to choose from to share with my friends. Don’t forget to include the fried plantain. Everything is consistently good and never disappoints!
k. p.
I ordered curry goat. Firstly, the food tasted very authentic. I know because my mum was a Jamaican chef and I have eaten Jamaican food for all of my life. Secondly, the hot pepper was delicious and though they gave me too much and it will just go to waste. 10 out of 10 for food quality.perfect ginger beer. They had the right one and it looked new. Very impressed.
C. D.
My sister and I took our Mum here for a Birthday meal back in September, and our experience was fantastic. We're from South and it was definitely worth the trek. I had the jerk chicken and Mum & Sis had the fish, one grilled and one steamed. Food was delish and full of flavour. The rum punch was also on point. I've forgotten our Waitress' name but she was lovely. She was from Sheffield and was very attentive and was chatty which we really loved and appreciated. Shout out to her. We will definitely be back, for food and to make our way through the huge rum collection.
M. H.
We went for my friends bday and this was great! Good mix of vege options and meat options. I got the chickpea and potato curry, flavours were great, wish it was a little spicier but we move!! Get the mac and cheese if you go, seasoning is on point. The cocktails do things to me! The sorrel colada was banging! The staff were really lovely and gave us a cheeky little bday surprise at the end. How good! Highly recommend.
D. K.
Went there with my wife and daughter (who lives in Walthamstow). Wife and I live in rural Norfolk, so nothing like this in our area, daughter had seen this place when going past on the bus, but hadn't been in. The three of us where very impressed with all aspects of our visit. The staff were super, friendly without being over the top. The food was amazing! I had curried goat and I can honestly say I haven't tasted anything as good since we were in Barbados. It will be a while before my wife and I get to enjoy this great place again, due to the distance from home, but I've no doubt my daughter will be back very soon.
A.
Went with my Mum and we absolutely loved it, everything was good quality and really tasty. They did take a long time to serve our order, but they took care of us as I think it was a genuine mix up.
The decor is great and the music gave it a nice atmosphere. I particularly liked the deep flavours from the sauce that came with my saltfish fritters.. luckily our waitress gave me some to carry home.
All in all we had a lovely evening, can't wait to go back with friends
D. D.
A really lovely restaurant serving authentic Caribbean food in Walthamstow. The food was amazing, I had the salt fish fritters (a good size portion) which were tasty followed by the BBQ Beef Ribs with dumplings and plantain (man, this was really good). The cocktails Zombie, Painkiller & Black Cherry Daiquiri all hit the spot. I will definitely be returning again, great service Delroy!
G. S.
Went to Rhythm Kitchen for lunch and had the Curry Goat with rice and peas and plantain.
I have to say this is best I have ever tasted, and it's always my go to choice when eating Carribbean food. The portions are generous and the goat was rich and full of flavour, falling off the bone, beautifully cooked. The spice was on point, not too hot, and with some lovely heat on the side in the pepper sauce. Brilliant!
The rice and peas were light and tasty, not dry or claggy at all. Could have eaten just that and been happy. The plantain was sweet, sticky and crisp then soft. Again, perfection! Seriously, this is a destination regardless of where you live, it's food on a standard you don't really see at these prices; under £11. These people love their food and you can taste it!
The service was quick, welcoming and warm. I will definitely be back, it's just too good! No pictures as I was too busy eating!!
j.
I cannot recommend the food and service enough! I visited last Thursday and was served by the ever courteous and friendly Monique. On recommendation, I ordered the grilled salmon, which was paired with rice, plantain and mac and cheese. The salmon was grilled to perfection - flavoursome, succulent flesh with crispy skin to coat. All other dishes were equally well enjoyed for their flavour and texture. This was a follow-up visit with a friend who also now lists Rhythm Kitchen as a firm London favourite (tough act to achieve as she is very particular!). Initially spotted Rhythm whilst intending to visit a restaurant located opposite - I am so glad that I made that initial casual glance across the street!
D. B.
One of my favourite Caribbean restaurants in east London. Salt fish fritters perfectly crispy, great spicy mayonnaise. Jerk chicken banging. Curry goat tender, better than any lamb curry! Great decor, music spot on. Check this place out.
T. I.
Food was tasty and the rum punch was punchy. Going for the rustic look.
M. B.
Food was very good. Service was mediocre. The constant Deliveroo notification jingle coming from the till was pretty annoying
B. N.
The jerk chicken is without doubt a classic. The ribs are also amazing, tender and succulent. Good choice of sides is welcome as most dishes come with two.
The dumplings are an alternative to the rice and peas both great for mopping up the sauces and to go with the steamed veg (make your mother proud - or just double carb it). Do nice homemade drinks.
Happily working my way through the menu. Value for money is good, you will not leave hungry. Nice place to eat in, never feel rushed.
T. J.
This is a lovely restaurant with authentic food and great staff. I celebrated my birthday at the restaurant a few months ago, and was thoroughly impressed with the food, drinks and service. Love it!
Oh... and I’ve been back since!
Q. B.
Firstly I have to say food was tasty ( especially the dumplings)and delivery was prompt. However, ordered 1 plain rice & was sent rice & peas but this was not an issue as there were not many peas in the rice! the curry goat, though very well cooked, was small in size & contained a lot of bones which was disappointing as it was otherwise well cooked . Btw... Isn't service charge supposed to be declared prior to & optional for 6 or more diners? I have never seen this charge applied on a take away before & was unexpectd! hence 4 stars!
C. G.
Excellent customer service and a wide array of classic Caribbean cuisine.
S. T.
Awesome food with great service and wonderful atmosphere
C. H.
This was my first visit to Rhythm kitchen and can honestly say it wont be my last. The food was amazing and the BBQ beef rib was like nothing I have ever tasted. It was out of this world and the cocktails were great too!! Fabulous.
D. B.
Great place to eat. Meals were delicious, good size portions for starters and main meals.
Staff were very friendly and they were using Covid secure methods, screens etc to maintain social distancing.
S. M.
Absolutely incredible food (I've tried the jerk fish and curry goat so far), and warm service in a relaxing environment. This is my second visit, and they've definitely improved service-wise since my first a few weeks ago; where the service was quite slow. Glad I came back and tried it again, as the service was much speedier, and they have really generous portions at great prices. Will be back again!! Thankyou!
S. O.
We came here for the first time last night after Notting hill Carnival, we had a really good time and thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food. I strongly recommend this restaurant for any Caribbean food lover, especially the amazing jerk chicken and plantain! I honestly can't wait to go back
J. B.
Gutted. So disappointed. Really upset... That we only came here the last night we were in Walthamstow! We missed one of the town's true gems for years! I can't believe we didn't come here before! Beautiful meals, friendly wait staff and a very generous owner - be prepared for an education in rum! It's a must-visit. Stop reading this, go eat some jerk fish.
F. T.
Had takeaway Curried Goat and Oxtail specials. They both came with 2 sides and really good value for money. The goat curry was really good, and the oxtail was even better - in a rich, spicy sauce. Best Oxtail I've had from a Carribean place! Came with a scotch bonnet chilli sauce that blew my dead off
K.
i just loooooved the curry goat, steamed vegetables and the drinks. so delicious. the wonderful Thea served us for the night. she could've sold me anything, truly a character.
C. T.
Massive thanks to Del and all his team who catered for our son's 18th birthday this weekend. We collected the food which was all served warm in large catering containers which I could put straight on the table. The food was amazing, 100% positive feedback from all the family and friends. Would highly recommend to anyone who needs catering for an event. Thanks Rhythm Kitchen :) from all The Thompson family
L. P.
Food was delicious! We felt very welcomed as soon as we stepped in. The girls at the counter were happy to give us advice on how big portions are. The menu is clear and easy to choose from. There's vegetarian options too and a menu for kids. Thumbs up!
l. m.
If you want to try the best chicken in Walthamstow you have to come here. Great customer services, the limeade is delicious, refreshing . Also the rum tasting I went on 8 of April was really good, great time to share with people, know new things and again eat delicious dumplings and more. Get in contact with them for next events !
s. h.
We came here on Friday after Wood Oven was closed. AMAZING! The lady serving us was so nice too which helped us enjoy your experience. food is amazing, presentation is great too! Money well spent... 100% recommend the Beef Ribs
A. C.
If the chicken here is the same as it was when the restaurant was called Jerk Hut, then its absolutely sublime with the right amount of spices. The jerk sauce is delicious too!! I hope to dine here again when im next in the UK.
N. C.
On this occassion the soup i paid for had a funny smell and some of the food in there tasted gone off. Hardly any chicken was in that big box of soup they serve you. Very disappointed.
However the week before I had brought the same soup and it tasted so fresh and delicious.
The soup must be a hit and miss depending on the day you go i guess but the soup i got today was a complete miss!
The dumplings i got were lovely so due to the soup being a fail on this occassion (but great on the last), im giving 3 stars.
When its done right, its really good!
M. R.
Lady with the blue hair, she was SO LOVELY (sorry I didn't catch your name)!
I came into the restaurant (FOR TAKEAWAY) after having had THE MOST STRESSFUL day....
Funny thing was I'd intended to come here because I'd seen it (haven't been in this part of Walthamstow for a while)...I got lost (lol)...I realised once leaving, that I ended up exactly where I needed to be.
Walked in dying for some ackee and salt fish; walked out with curry goat, rice and peas with sides of plantain - Let me tell you....
IT WAS THE MOST DELICIOUS MEAL.
The rice and peas were cooked to perfection and the goat was so soft, tender, full of flavour...
Subhan'Allah the only thing I could complain about was the price.
It was a decent sized portion (not large), but the price was a bit much at £10 something.
Looking at the venue I'd say, possibility of it being a great date night venue - or maybe even a place for family celebrations or a work party etc...the decor and ambiance were perfect for somewhere different to enjoy a meal out.
Music wasn't loud or irritating (set at a volume); you can still conversate whilst still being able to listen to one another without shouting.
All in all, I would definitely recommend and I'll most definitely be going again.

My partner and I visited this restaurant May Bank Holiday 2018, the staff were great and the food was delicious we both thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful 🤗.
The only slight downside is the I personally prefer fillets of fish as opposed to whole (can't be bothered with the bones 😥)
We will definitely be visiting again soon.
Wishing you and your team every success with your restaurant.

Well done Rhythm Kitchen. I think you may well have cracked it. Lovely welcome. Lovely food. Lovely atmosphere. And an unexpected kindness of replacing a drink when it was sweeter than I had expected. Also when you have exiting diners announcing to my group coming in that the food was fantastic thats truly a good omen. And indeed the food was tasty. Well presented to boot. Nice atmosphere. I will denitely be visiting again. 👍🏽

I needed a catering service for a birthday party and Delroy and his team more than delivered. The food tasted amazing and went done very well with all the guests. Great service and communication too.

In every order, I add an extra jerk pot to use it later with my own meals. It’s that good guys! This sauce deserves its own mass-production.
The plantain and dumplings are scrumptious, the rhum cocktails are so divine, the bitter-sweet cool of the rhum and the heat of the jerk combined are your speedy ticket to the carribean paradise. No need to book a flight, just walk, bike or ride to Rhythm Kitchen.

The food is delicious. Goat curry and oxtail highly recommended! Cocktails very tasty and balanced!! Friendly staff, good atmosphere and prices affordable. Don't miss it!

I had the ragga stew and my partner had the curry goat, which we both agree we're fantastic, along with the sorrel coladia and rum punch of which we're both blazing, will most definitely be returning, keep up the great work.

I wanted something to eat and wanted to try something new in the area. Like most people, I read the Google reviews before I headed out and found that there certainly were one or two people whose expectations weren’t met. However, I’m my own man and decided to try them for myself and make up my own mind. I’m so glad I did !
The food they offer is (in my experience) THE BEST in the area with service to match. I’m very big on service because, after all, part of our bill is paying for that service and they certainly didn’t disappoint ! It’s seems as though they had some teething problems when they first started out (after all, who doesn’t in business), but unlike most, they took it on the chin, addressed the issues and improved. WELL DONE RHYTHM KITCHEN !
The food was absolutely delicious, the portions were generous and the ambiance was just what you’d expect of a West End establishment if you were taking your Mrs out on a date, only this was in Walthamstow. Brilliant !
There aren’t many places I’d recommend to eat in Walthamstow for a variety of reasons that I won’t go into here (and I live in the area), but I certainly would recommend these guys.
Don’t take the word of a minority of customers whose expectations weren’t met (or who may have had a hidden agenda – who knows). Try it for yourself, I’m sure you’d be pleasantly surprised as I certainly was.
They’ll be seeing me again

Very filling and brilliant portions. The staff are welcoming, friendly and the food is very good value. Definitely will be coming back. Good selection of drinks as well.
H. D. S.
Disappointed with service and food. Not as good as their food stand in Westfield Stratford. Food here is over priced, small portions with a hidden service charge that's not on the menu. Add to that they don't serve stew chicken, patties or fried chicken, some staff were ok, others not so much. Won't be returning to branch in walthamstow, massively over hyped
S. S.
Good food. The plantain fritters were nice but not as good as the previous visit when it had more caramelisation. The Jerk chicken was good as well.
J. H.
Beautiful food, lovely staff, plenty of tables (would still recomend calling in advance) and an amazing selection of Rums from around the world. Ate like a king and was shocked at how low the bill was by the end! I'll 100% be returning and might even make the most of them being on Deliveroo as well
A. P.
Very nice and tasty food it's an awesome restaurant with all that Caribbean flavours and Caribbean ambience . And service is great . 5 stars deserved.
T. M.
Fantastic food, atmosphere with an amazing selection of rum.

Great for families or romantic dinner for 2. - Check out the Valentines deal guys!!! Food was soo good and decent prices too. Everything from the decor to the Trojan classics (music) feels right. Thank you Chantelle for serving us. Good job girl!
Great selection of drinks and location is easy to get to from Walthamstow Central.
Big shout to Chef Orville.
Two things to know.
***No1 its hot in here!
***No2 be prepared to wait for your food but it's certainly worth it!
J. H.
Food 10/10 service 10/10!! Always have a chat with the owner every time I walk in.
Thank you to all at Rhythms kitchen
N. R.
Delicious! Every dish was excellent. Also Happy hour was 6 - 8 so the 2 for 1 cocktails really went down well. Definitely recommended 👍🏻

Wonderful friendly staff and extremely tasty food. Decor and ambience great.
Looking forward to my next visit and will try to leave room for dessert. Definitely worth visiting as you will return.
N. S.
Great food, large portions, tasty cocktails. All in all a good experience. The curry goat and jerk chicken was lovely 👍
H. H.
Home-cooked delicious Caribbean food served with a smile in a slick and welcoming family-run place. Recomend leaving plenty of time for the rum selection too.
J. C.
Ok Caribbean restaurant. Cocktails need reviewing. Virgin Pina colada had very little if any coconut in Sorrell Cocktail lacked rum.
J. H.
Oh my. Attended for a friend's birthday meal. Portion sizes were massive. Well cooked authentic carribean food. Waitress even asked for music request. Everyone was so welcoming inculding the other guest who join us singing happy birthday. Our group inculded several choir members so entertainment was fab

We weren't intending to deviate from our New Year diet, but life throws surprise after an evening of multi-cultural entertainment and some pints in Ye Olde Rose and Crown.
Having passed by Eltes Uighur restaurant with a hopeful eye, disappointed to see it's limited space rammed to the limit, we spotted Rhythm Kitchen.
What did we get? Decent Caribbeean fare, a variety of Caribbean drink, full stomachs, and wallets that weren't stripped bare! Service was a bit slow as we watched a steady stream of takeaways pass through the front door, but the company was good so we didn't really care.
Very happy
I. M.
Visited this location today with my mate love the music selection and the food. Great customer service waiter was very lovely and polite. Might go back soon just to see her.
L. M.
Absolutely fantastic food, and the waiting staff was incredibly efficient despite being on her own waiting on thirteen people. Well done Rhythm Kitchen Walthamstow.

Booked seating for 18 people for a birthday dinner surprise. This was easy enough and handled well. The restaurant is small, pleasantly decorated and was clean (including the toilets, which is a must for me). Reasonably priced food, large portions and tasty. I didn't have any cocktails to comment but the other diners seemed happy enough. The takeaway delivery service seemed to be quite busy on the night but it didn't really impact the time we had to wait too much. There was one particular staff member that was really friendly and another not so (you win some, you lose some but was the reason for 4 stars instead of 5). I'm due to go back there again this month, so a chance to redeem that one star, we'll see!
**UPDATE*"
So visited here for the 2nd time with a large party. If I was judging on food only, then it would be all thumbs up. Large portions and tastes good. What let's this place down is the length of time it takes for food to arrive for large parties....it was waaaay too long! Had it not been for the efficiency and humour of LEXI who served us throughout it would have been a no no. Would I eat there again? Yes because the food is really good but I'd be hesitant if it's with a large party.
