Reviews of Royal China Fulham
K. B.
Enjoyable lunch here. Superb dim sum and attentive service. I absolutely loved the food. Their custard buns are a favourite.
The servers are probably even too attentive, especially if you are seated near the doors etc., the servers will be constantly checking you.
Only downside is being seated so close to other people that you can hear their conversations.
This restaurant is definitely not well suited to vegetarians / vegans if you are very strict with your diet. Accidentally ordered some meat items without knowing it (and I’m not a vegetarian/vegan myself).
They constantly refill your tea.
I would advise them to get bigger mugs for their teas... they’re very, very tiny...

Satisfied with the dim sum. Quite pricey but it’s a nice restaurant with good service, so I think that it’s reasonable.

Recommend! Little expensive compared to other Chinese restaurants but temsim are great! Real Cantonese taste. 30-40punds one person.

Delicious yum cha (aka sim sum). You can taste that it's been made fresh - it's so delicate! A little more pricey than other places we've explored but totally worth it!

Our go to restaurant for Chinese food. Amazing steamed scallops on shell and lobster noodles

We went on a quiet, rainy day. Had a small amount of dim sum and tea. Was lovely and the service was great!

Dim-sum was a big part of the culture on a Sunday when I lived in Hong Kong and this restaurant replicates that perfectly. Delicious, authentic Cantonese food, by very attentive hard working staff. Very pleased to have found them... this is my new Sunday regular!
A. W.
Reliable, quick, efficient, wholesome as always. Their dimsum remains unmatched however they have reduced the variety available. Rest of the menu is the same ie worth repeat visits. Like an old friend almost whom you meet after a long time and get along like many years ago.

Tried the dim sum here and they are all very tasty. Also like its al fresco dining area. Nice choice for summer.

I just came back from dinner here and I absolutely loved it. The owners are really nice and helpful, they gave us recommendations and chatted a bit about China.
The food was wonderful and it was really fast until all the dishes arrived.
I recommend it to everyone!
I’ll definitely come back.

Too many families with young children that they could not control, said children were screaming and making a racket constantly. Could not enjoy my meal as a result. Portions were small but good quality. A bit pricey though.
J. L.
The pricing is on the high side - each plate of dim sum costs 25% more than other places. However, the following aspects of their pricing don't sit well with me:
1. Charging almost £2.50 *per person* for tea
2. A plate of noodles only really serves 1 (when the equivalent in other Chinese restaurants would serve the table)
The food is still delicious though and the service is warm (they are child friendly, contrary to what another review said) so, if you are willing to pay the premium, then I'd still recommend the food!

Good food at reasonable prices. Not the most attentive service. Your standard Chinese.

We loved Royal China Queensway. It was a family favourite for Dim Sum and Chinese food in general. So sad its closed. Looking for alternative. This isn't it.
M. B.
In a nutshell, the food was solid - and very nice to look at! - but you're paying very premium prices for what it is. The duck was very nice, and dumplings were surprisingly huge, but you can get better value for similar quality at countless Chinese restaurants/dim sum places.
The atmosphere/decor was very nice and service friendly.
If you happen to be in this particular area of Fulham and have a hunger (and aren't on a budget) then fill your boots!

Today Dim Sum were just perfect. So fresh and delicate. One of the best meals ever. I also have to praise the quick service and pleasant atmosphere. As I am a lover of Dim Sum, i always enjoy a Sunday lunch with family and friends at Royal China. Usually at Baker Street (where you should arrive not later than 11:30 to find a table or queue for two hours) and also at Queensway ( the oldest one, as my Chinese friends told me). I never before tried this restaurant in Fulham, because of the bad reviews. I am really in shock to read so many bad reviews, where the all experience was spotless. I also found the prices to be very affordable. If you really like real Chinese food, don’t look further in Fulham. Royal China is the place.

The lobster is good. Love it. Authentic Chinese food, reasonable prices.

Great experience and delicious dim sum that I ever had. The price that I spend is worth it as all the staff is nice and friendly. And all the nice dim sum like pork puff, Shanghai pork dumplings, coriander with prawn dumplings and chive with prawn dumplings. Especially the Shanghai pork dumplings is taste soooo good and meat taste juicy so is not dry. I recommend other friends and I will bring my family with me next time to this fabulous place.
B. B.
Very good Dim Sum at a reasonable-ish price. I recommend you stick to the dumplings and meat platters, avoiding the main dishes that are a lot more expensive. Expect average service at best, but this only adds to the authenticity. Roughly £20 a head for Dim Sum and drinks. Crispy pork belly and soup dumplings were the highlights.

Amazing service, had a really delicious meal. The steam sea bass was the best I’ve had, very fresh and flavoursome. Loved it!!
F. A.
Very good Dim Sum at a reasonable price point. Dishes are well made and well presented.
The quality of the interior lets down the review a little bit - especially if you are seated deep in the restaurant.
R. w.
Very nice hotel and restaurant. Excellent service by worker. Thank you.🥰

five stars deserved today.
Very quick delivery (although to be fair, they are quite close to home), very pleasant and smiley delivery man. Food hot and gorgeous!! Very high standards. Found my new fav Friday night delivery!!

Thought I should write a review after avoiding this place due to the number of One-Star reviews. Dim sum is more expensive than what is usually found in Chinatown (hence the 4-stars rather than 5), but the quality is much better. I never go for dim sum and expect silver service (Chinese servers will not pamper you), but in fact I found the service very friendly

If you fancy dumplings this is the place to go, having said that I must admit the Baker Street branch feels more relaxing as it's a bigger venue.
The Fulham branch places all families with kids downstairs and remaining in the small section upstairs. Service and food are still excellent I simply think the atmosphere and venue are unfortunately what let's the experience down. So I'd you have time to queue or plan your visit make it to the Baker Street Branch.

Having long been a dim sum lover in London - used to frequent the Bayswater branch which I much prefer, but now I'm nearer Fulham - for over 14 years....it pains me to write a bad review for this branch in Fulham. Although the food is good, the service over the last several visits has been borderline harsh, inflexible, uncaring and downright hostile. On typical afternoons, although the branch officially closes at 4 pm, they actually are so anxious to get all the tables cleaned and arranged for the dinner shift that they are practically chasing customers out at 3:30. In fact, on my last visit, we were the very last table seated at 3:35 and wouldn't have dreamed of hoping for any more service as they were so keen to have us out the door. Restaurant management pay attention: if your staff is more keen to get people out the door than to provide food and service, re-evaluate! We can have dim sum elsewhere.
M. W.
My first dim sum. Good food, and seemed reasonably priced, five of us ate plenty for £15 each at lunch.
Place can get busy, so probably worth booking ahead. Staff were pretty attentive and food came quickly.
T. D.
Very nice food, good service, but not very cheap on a Sunday
J. Y. R.
My wife, my daughter said that this restaurant is the one of the best Chinese restaurant in their life in terms of food and service.
Especially the fried udong with assorted seafood was very unique and very tasteful. Wine selection is also superbe.
Overall this restaurant deserves to get five stars.

Amazing food, good prices, and friendly staffs!

My fiancee and I were looking for a dim sum place in South London and came across this place. But when we we got there we found out they only serve dim sum at lunch. The food was also really expensive and were very shocked when we received the bill. The food was average
R. Y.
The food was quite decent - authentic enough to satisfy a craving for this ex-Hong Kong resident. That said, it was very expensive (£35pp without wine), so be prepared.
C. P.
Exceptional service, great food, just disappointed with the crispy beef. Crispy Duck is highly recommended. Singapore rice noodles are great as well.
H. T.
Superb Chinese food, in a nice part of Fulham. Rarely busy, but don't let that fool you! Crispy Chilli Beef is some of the best I've had
H. K.
Eaten there twice and thr food is excellent. They do take away also. Vegeterian set meal is also great. The duck, the steamed lobster are also good. Love it.
J. J.
Great food the duck was superb and the bbq pork was amazing need to go back and try the dimsum
H. W.
The food is of a reasonable standard, the staffs are not all that friendly. If it's only two of you, they will make out that they are full and save the table for four people. Not impressed.
J. C.
Amazing service, had a really delicious meal. The steam sea bass was the best I’ve had, very fresh and flavoursome. Loved it!!
D. M.
Great chef's and a really clean organised kitchen, and the staff are really friendly, and waiting for customers.
T. G.
Friendly staff, great service and food! Try aromatic crispy duck, it’s really good! IMHO negative reviews on service quality are UNFAIR, i and my friends left very satisfied from every perspective.
J. W.
Excellent Dim Sum,
Great Chinese to either eat in or Take Away,
very accommodating when we organised a Thursday family lunch,
Good dim sum at reasonable price,
Great service.
C. H.
One of most reliably good dim sum places. I would say just as good as the Queensway and Baker st branches. However unlike the other branches it's best to book this one.
M. F. A.
Lovely lunch but doesn't get 5* as dishes you would expect to get for dim sum lunch time had run out.
C. J.
Went here for a dinner with friends, the food was mediocre, high prices. I prefer their other branch which is more spacious.
B. E.
Brilliant food, genuine, good service@
R. D.
Amazing food but rather expensive. More enjoyable in larger groups so you can share and try everything on the menu.
P. M.
Excellent food. Everytime I go back it is a pleasure. Waiting for a table and to order is a bit of an issue but food is amazing
M. D.
Excellent food! Got the dim sums and they were all very nice!
G. C.
Food is delicious but staff need learning more about people skills. Not sure I'd go if I'd see the waiter working that evening
