Reviews of Saffron Kitchen

Wow best Indian restaurant. Owner was very welcoming and friendly. Food was delicious couldn’t fault anything. Highly recommend their masala chips!!! I must say their portions for the main was huge, worth the money you’re spending honestly. The waitress kindly gave us takeaway boxes which was great. Highly recommend their bubblegum daiquiri it was so good! They were very busy but we got seated quick and the service was fast. I’m definitely going back! Free private parking also available behind the restaurant.

Came here for dinner with a friend and absolutely loved it. Brilliant service and food was tasty. Gets very busy at anytime during the day. Probably best to go in as soon as it opens. Will be back again in the near future.

A truely amazing indian restaurant in the heart of East London. Ample free car spaces behind the building. A huge marque at the back too for events. This place is huge. Ideal for birthdays, parties and celebrations.
Must try:
Samosa Chaat
Masala chips
Shahi lamb curry
Fried ice cream
One of the best halal indian restaurant in the area. They cater food for many weddings, simply because their food in superb.

The lamb kadhai and butter chicken curry are nice here. I also like the fact the Masala chips wasn’t overly saucy when I tried it as some places have the tendency to make it too saucy. The chops are good too and the fried ice cream. I wouldn’t order the Kashmiri tea again, was too milky for me and a taste I can’t imagine myself trying again unfortunately. It can get very busy so it’s advised to book groups in advance. The kitchen can get overwhelmed sometimes so you might have to remind waiters about orders and if starters should come separately etc. They do forget things along the way.

The venue is indeed of done diy. It would have been the talk of the town 10 years ago but now it's looks uninviting, especially the large rundown free carpark. The food is great. Not spicy but enough flavour to enjoy some authentic Indian cooking.
M. M.
One of the best places to eat indian food. Loved their lamb chops and masala chips. We also ordered shahi gosht which isn't something i would recommend.
Just few improvements needs to be done in customer services and waiters should be more professional. Outside restaurant lights were not working so we missed it at first then we came back. Parking has no signs if these are for saffron? But due to food i can give 4 star to cover all this. Will visit again very soon

Lovely restaurant. Fantastic service very quick when it came to the food. Clean and very presentable. Great that there is a car park as well as it is a busy road. First time customer who will definitely be back
H. B.
One my favourite restaurants for their butter chicken. They have an amazing lamb biryani which comes raita. Mango lassi is thick and yummy just how I like it. I really enjoy their masala chips too! Can get quite busy on weekends, best to book over the phone.

Food is normal nothing special. Service was good. Best thing was it had own parking. Priceless in London!
M. P.
Positively surprised. Very tasty and authentic food, clean and not too loud to have a conversation. Desserts are awesome.
A. S.
My favourite here is the butter chicken, they also had a really good Pina Colada. Recommended place if you want good Asian food, good prices too!
N. L.
Saffron kitchen was such a pleasant experience. Food was very good standard and cannot fault the dishes. Definitely recommend the prawns - to die for! One constructive criticism i would say is to not have your staff linger around customers, it can feel quite uncomfortable with everyone jumping at your table when you are trying to enjoy a meal. If customers make eye contact or call you over then you should attend, or ask if they are ok, not hover around. Otherwise, food and decor was great.
A. S. A.
My go to restaurant when I want to eat quality food for decent price. Foods amazing and despite it being busy all the time, staff are on point.
F. A.
Don't usually write reviews but i have to this time. I took my family there on Friday evening. The food was absolutely on point and everything came within 20 minutes despite it being busy. My 3 year old son even liked the food he had and it was really good they had a children’s menu. The couple of waiters that assisted us were also very attentive and helped us anything we wanted so a well done to them. This place has parking! The area has notoriously small amount of free public parking so this is an absolute key convenience for the customer as its hassle free. We will be visiting Saffron Kitchen often for sure!

It was a second time in 4Years

Thanks Abdull Samir Ozzi👍👍

The best food ever. another one on my favourite list. Yummyyyyy
J. K.
The food was excellent. Service was great and attentive. This place is very busy and popular with big crowds of people. It was louder than I prefer but the company and the taste of the food made this barely perceptible.
b. b.
nice decor with parking available.
Food was fantastic albeit a bit pricey, service could've been a bit better.
Ordered samosa chaat, dam pukht pulao, seekh kebabs, lamb chops, roghni josh lamb.
Food was 10/10 especially the lamb chops.
M. C.
Their food is to die for, masala chips, mojitos and Pina Coladas are bang on. I’ve tried almost everything and will always go back. Great parking out the back and will always highly recommend; nice atmosphere too.

We went for a wedding and as ever Saffron delivers top notch. The food was hot, tasty and amazingly presented. Some of the waitresses could have better and provided a more personable customer service, I noticed with some guests. But our table was very well served and we had a great time at the wedding.
A. Q.
Good place to go with family. Extremely busy when we went. We did have a wait a short while but the food was good. Their chaats were great and their masala chips were so good!!!
M. T.
Ate here last night.
1) the manager was extremely rude to his staff. We witnessed him shouting at his staff on two occasions which just made the whole atmosphere awkward and uncomfortable.
2) The food in general tasted okay but for the prices of the food the portion sizes are incredibly small.
3) There was a delay of almost 25 minutes between us getting half our food. We got our biryani, lamb and dhai balay within a few minutes but waited on our chicken 65 and masalah chips. So we couldn't really enjoy the food as we hoped.
A. P.
Nicely lit restaurant at the front with a glass roof at the back allowing natural light to come through. Friendly staff that were also helpful and the food was great. When ordering, I asked for a mild version of a dish (see picture) and the waiter warned me that there might still be a little bit of spice in the food, which I was happy with. Upon receiving the food, it was exactly as the waiter suggested and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. A great place to dine with friends and family (and children too). Only gripe was that you can only pay at the front of house (which can be quite crowded when the restaurant is busy) and not table side. Overall a great experience.
A. A.
Amazing, authentic food as well as fusion dishes from the Indian sub-continent. Food is packed full of flavour and the service is top notch. Restaurant has competent and friendly staff, and are diligently adhering to the social distancing rules during this COVID era we are living through. There's an added bonus for people of faith - who have been designated a prayer room. All in all a great experience.
A.
Favourite restaurant. Been here countless times. Lamb chops, massala chips and fried ice cream that's all you need to order. Never disappoints. Keep up the excellent work.
Y. h.
Don’t need to order seekh kebab as they are not good at all on top ready made from boxes (seems from frozen items)secondly barayaani was not good either at all full with more curry and very less rice.Grilled prawns were nice and freash orange juice . Use to be good restaurant but not any more . I think they couldn’t handle the business when it needs the most
O.
Nice vibe .
Pleasant customer service.
The fried mushrooms starter was better than expected.
Chilly chips are definitely recommend, 1 portion will feed 2 people they are quite large portions.
Mix platter of grilled meat and seafood was hit and miss.
The lamb was fatty and the sea food I won't recommend at all.
Stick with the traditional stuff such as naan and Curry's.
They have a prayer room facility also.
H. R.
Belated review, the food here is a good, starters are quite good, the masala chips and lamb chops were delicious. Had to wait a while to get in but the staff were helpful. Halal food. Value for money.
S.
Good food and service. Waiting time if you haven't booked can be up to an hour so bear that in mind. Food isn't spectacular but overall nice, clean and edible. Deserts are unique and tasty. Waiting area should be improved with seating to match numbers. Guests overstating head count should be declined and stragglers hoarding tables should be addressed. Atmosphere is nice and relaxed but seating can be a bit tight at peak hours.
Z. P.
Very fast service and authentic tasty food. Plus with plenty car parking too
N. K.
Beautiful food, making my mouth water think about it. Amazing staff and excellent service.
H. H.
Very nice restaurant. There was an initial chaos with our booking but they managed to seat us as a priority when we arrived. Even though they were very busy, food was served promptly and was very very good.
s. b.
Loved it here, great price and amazing food. Full of colours and flavours, really good portions and brilliant presentation
R. A.
Dined at Saffron Garden with my partner. The set menu cost £20 per head. The starters were nice and light, my favourite was the sweet potato chaat. The mains was just wow, a lot of food for 2 people and the flavours were great. The lamb chops were nicely cooked and the chicken tikka was soft and tasty. For dessert we had French toast with Nutella and ice cream as well as blacava and ice cream, both were delicious. To end our dining we got some tandoori chai, it was a nice little show to watch aswell. The food was given on paper plates, which i think went well with the whole garden theme and eating outdoors. The staff that were serving us were really nice, friendly and polite and kept checking on us to see if we were okay. They were always available if we needed something. The service was at a good pace and received the food within good time. I will definitely come again.
A. A.
The food at saffron kitchen is amazing, never been disappointed when eating here. This venue is far superior to Saffron Street in Ilford. They also have a takeout option through ubereats.
u. s.
One of the best all round Indian restaurants I have experienced, from the amazing service to the great selection of dishes. Absolutely love the experience & recommend to anyone who enjoys good quality food & service.
S. A.
Food was just top quality! The flavours were extreme and served really hot!! The masala chips and the wings (starters) are mouth watering and have immense spice and delicious flavouring. Main course portion is huge and is very filling. Food is consistent. Staff are great and friendly. It's a quick service, didn't have to wait too long for the food. It is better to book in advance to avoid waiting times and getting a seat at this place is hard cos it can get very busy. The place has a good parking facility behind the restaurant so it saves time from parking on the main road. If you want real flavoursome experience of Indian be sure to check this restaurant out!
M.
Very good pakistani/indian food with a twist.
It is usually very busy here on weekends, I would suggest a reservation to avoid waiting adhoc for a table.
The venue also serves guests who wish to hold their own event, this other arm of the business named Starlight which is above the restaurant.
We were quickly shown to our seats and given a menu.
We sat in the private dining area which was nice.
There is a wide variety of dishes and some unique such as the Chicken Nambali which I was intrigued about.
I also tried the pani puri platter as well as other dishes.
For the main I ordered a Lamb Rogan Josh and I was not disappointed! Very tender and full of flavour, rich but not oily.
This dish immediately became my favourite closely followed by the Chicken Jalfrezi and King Prawn bhuna.
We were happily stuffed and had no space for dessert although, there wasn't anything very appetising for me on the afters menu.
The total cost was very reasonable and represents good value for money.
I would definitely recommend and I would return again, actually I have and this happens to be my second visit.

I attended a reception party in the upstairs suite. The deco is a bit like from the beautiful halls from years gone by. felt like the set from The Great Gatsby. food was excellent.
y. 2.
Food was excellent, great sitting area and view, outstanding facilities..
K. B.
Great food. Waiters were rushing us to pay the bill though and that was not good. Service needs improvement.
A. M.
Such a lovely place I had visited to have the Butter chicken. Loved it and recommend to go again and again to have an excellent Indian food of your choice.
s. j.
Great food, really liked how it was cooked to perfection, and great decor.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience
M. P.
Nice family oriented Indian restaurant with a wide selection of food! Ordered samosa chaat, keema samosas, lamb chops, chilli paneer, chicken 65 with noodles and dhal gosht biriyani! Delicious! Just be warned it does get very busy. Bookings for groups of 6 or more only. Otherwise you have to wait. But its worth it!
B. S.
Great food. The prawn starters are amazing.. the food full of flavour and th staff very friendly.. only issue i have is whenever i go saffron i end up smelling like food since they are all heavy in spice and herbs
S. H.
The food was really good, service was quite quick. A bit slow to get the bill though. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. The masala chips could have been a bigger portion for the price.
n. (.
Lovely staff and setting and the appetizers were amazing but the main coursr curries were so similar to each other and tasted pretty much the same that it was a little disappointing, however the naans and fusion dishes were were really good.
I.
Yeah I know 3 stars! But honestly Saffron Kitchen had set a high standard from early on. This trip was really disappointing. The area we were being seated at wasn’t clean especially considering it’s COVID. We had to request for someone to come sweep up under the table as there was food left over from the previous customers. The table tops were sticky hence needed a wipe down as well. The food was good but not great. The best curry there has to be the Chicken Jalfrezi and the grilled chops. Which how my experience was going turned out to be the saving grace of the trip. The prices have also increased but I’m guessing this might be something to do with their supplier charging them more. I really hope this place sorts itself out back to the high standard that they used to boast.
A. K.
Its a nice dining experience with family . The staff is very friendly and the private room is good too. The best thing is parking. Thank you saffron kitchen
H.
Was a great experience. We went to Saffron Garden which is part of Saffron Kitchen. The customer service here is great, everyone is very friendly and nice and overall atmosphere is good.
The food was good, starters were average but mains were very nice. Very good quality meats and very good amount of food. We then had dessert which was also quite nice as well as the tea. Overall experience was great. Very spacious and safe during Covid.
We also went to Saffron Kitchen on another occasion which was equally nice and good value for money.
T. S.
Food is good but bit pricy and place is very congested. But overall is okay
f. r.
Highly recommend this restaurant for good quality food but unfortunately the Price is bit high and this is the reason why I gave 4*.
Y. L.
Food nice, on the pricey side though. Location is average, there is parking on a big muddy football field and only one way in and out. We were stuck inside car park for 30 mins because of how busy the car park was! Service at restaurant is average also.
S.
For Me This Is One Of The Best Restaurants For A Curry In East London, Highly Recommend Trying Their Pani Puri, Samosa Chaat And Masala Fries. Been Here A Handful Of Times And The Food Has Never Disappointed, Bit Pricey But Check The Menu Before You Decide To Come.
N. K.
I would definitely recommend prebooking as there was a long wait for certain people of at least two hours. The food was amazing, the chaat was delicious! My least favourite dish was probably the masala fries, and I love the tandoori grills with naan.
The salad was pointless to order but the food was delicious, the tiger prawn fusion dish was very coconut and the butter chicken was delish as well. My favourite dish was the lamb chops with some raita. We had dessert and tea but they weren't as good.
M.
Posting this review a bit late, went here to eat few weeks ago.
Food was fine everything was fine.
What was wrong was that I ordered two milkshakes, Oreo and Ferrero Rocher. My brother who had ordered orea clearly stated he had nut allergies. Waiters ended up mixing up both milkshakes and my brother ended up vomiting and falling sick.
Waiters were quite lousy and one of them dropped a glass onto the floor, shattering and glass falling near my leg which is a hazard.
Wouldn't go again as prices are sky high for the portion sizes they give.
S. I.
Saffron is my go to Indian restaurant. My usual meal is the chaat platter, masala chips, mixed grill, butter chicken and garlic naan with mango lassi, then the cinnamon doughnut for dessert. Their service is sometimes hit and miss as waiters take their time. It is always busy in the evenings so book ahead of going to save you a lot of time
R. A.
Food is okay and the staff could be more attentive as you can wait for ages just to order or get a refill. Some of the decor has a layer of dust so it does need to be maintained. There isn't much meat in the biriyani.
D. A.
Amazing food experience, great atmosphere and friendly staff. The venue also has a massive carpark so no issues with parking.
T. A.
Very quick service, clean, owner seemed very nice and welcoming and most importantly, delicious food that is definitely set apart by some of its own flair. As locals had suggested, the masala chips and fried ice cream are definitely worth trying out.
꧁. ꧂.
Love this place especially masala chips. Yum. Good parking and always good food. Not been disappointed with the quality. Better to go early at 5pm when it first opens.
C.
Nice Cozy Interior, However The Smell Within The Restaurant Was Quite Strong, It Smelt of Raw Fish.
Average Service.
Food Was Tasty.
Difficult In Terms Of Parking Within The Car Park Due To Wet Mud & A One Way System When Entering & Leaving, Causing Inconvenience.
A.
A lovely setting especially on these hot days. Out doors In a marquee surrounded by lovely decor, trees, lights, leaves draped around the marquee. Ample space between the tables too. The starters were dissapointed v simple concepts that aimed to be different with a few changes but didn't really pay off with the amount your charged but the mains made up for it. Favourite were the ribs and masala chips and baklava for desert is always a winner for me. Service could be improved. We didn't get the chutneys and had to ask so many waiters for water and ice before it arrived. V expensive for kids don't bother if you have fussy kids.
S. A.
Chicken jalfrezi was very nice. Portions were generous. Lamb chops were ok. They weren't bad but definitely had better. Not a lot of meat on the bone. We had strawberry mocktails and Pina colada. They were decent.
There's a prayer room inside the restaurant which is a nice touch. Not something you see in most places.
Parking is quite a problem. While there is place to park there is only one narrow road for cars to get in or out, making entering and leaving the place at peak times unnecessarily frustrating.
J. H.
Good for small party's, food is lovely and big portioned. The mocktails are a must better than some I've tried in other places.
D. B.
I had initially gone there in the past, but coming on a friday I think it becomes too overwhelming that the food doesn't seem the same, had to ask for my sons lamb shank to be changed which thankfully the staffs changed it to something else. The grilled fish could of been marinated better. Went for my birthday treat. I wouldn't say don't go, I would probably say avoid going on a overly busy day. I would say the masala and karak chai was the best! And there was a staff who was so good well mannered and polite very pronto.
K. M.
My first visit to this place.
Food was good and the portions were eqaully very good. The Chops were very good.
I love King Prawns and I must admit what I was served were not King Prawns for the price I paid. They were merely 'large' or aka 'jumbo' prawns. King Prawns are the shrimp type which are clearly evident for what they are and the differenciation can be clearly seen on Google if you do a search for 'King Prawns' and 'Jumbo Prawns'.
The fried ice cream was alright not as great as others make it out to be. The Masala Chilli chips were not chilli and is nothing like Masala. Rather the ketchup was overpowering in the mix which I don't like.
Had it not been for the dissapointing Jumbo Prawns being sold as 'King Prawns' I would have given it a 4 stars.
Otherwise this place deserves a very reasonable 3 stars.
S. H. (.
Can believe I only manage to take one photo of the food!
My sister has been going on about this place for years, finally the whole family went and I have to say the food was amazing. I will be going back for the chaat platter alone. The butter chicken was delicious and so was the tiger prawn tower.
Desert was good too, freshly made waffles and doughnuts, yum!
The toilets were nice and clean, which are slowing getting better in Asian owned restaurants.
The best part is the have ample of street parking round the back.
Will definitely be going back.
R. V.
Beautiful welcome from staff, despite I am not Asian. I didn't feel out of place despite 90% of the customers being from Asian background. The food taste, quality and variety was absolutely outstanding. I loved the explosion of flavors and spices to my food. The place was buzzing, it is great for families with or without children, couples and groups. Perfect for Sunday meetups and family outings. One of the best Indian restaurants I have visited, totally 100% recommend.
J. L.
Really great food that's full of flavour, would revisit to try even more dishes. They also have rooms for birthday events.
R. K.
Heard good things about this place, so decided to visit with the husband and baby.. Firstly I usually don't write this but, I'm always impressed with a place that has a changing station for baby.. It makes it that little bit easier for mummys with babies to enjoy a dinner out. But to the main bit... The food was really nice... We had a mix chaat platter.. And mixed grill which I couldn't take a nice pic. Because the hubby jumped right in... And yes it looked amazing... Sizzling away... For dessert I had falooda.. The appetisers and mains was really nice, definitely recommend.. Falooda was average... I dig into my husbands kulfi ice-cream.. Was a better choice... Overall experience, staff and service was really good, prompt. Food came quick... With very friendly staff. Was a great evening plus having own parking is a bonus... Great job Saffron... Will definitely come again.

Great Indian restaurant in leyton great food and excellent service from the staff, free parking available behind the restaurant
—. U. }.
Only ordered the ribs, but they were the best ribs i have ever had, bit pricy but a hefty portion, unfortunately i have was overcharged at the end of the order when it came to pay, but they staff corrected that when i came back to point it out once i realised.
They were apologetic, and quickly rectified the situation, and a refund arrived around 4 days later.

Went twice and it was really nice good customer service and amazing food
H. H.
Delicious food. Fresh and comes piping hot. Love the service. Very accommodating
S. A.
Great place to eat, however bit disappointed with the attitude of the owner who was not very pleasant. The staff & food was excellent. I wish they should offer the salad as well with the food as the menu is bit expensive. Reservation is highly recommended.
A. R.
Parking facility but muddy. Had to wait for a table for 4 but was seen to swiftly. Good food but a bit pricey. Good service no complaints. Will be returning soon to.

Saffron kitchen is just amazing. Every single item on their menu tastes delicious. I can’t fault anything. Food, ambience, service and atmosphere are absolutely delightful!

Coming from Bradford I was expecting to be treated to a curry on par with the curry capital...sadly thats not the case. Ribs aside the food was not a patch on curry's in Bradford.
Z. M.
Visited this place while we visited london for the bett show and I have to say the food was absolutely gorgeous... The staff were lovely and helpful. Free parking at the back.
Y. V.
Excellent location. East to get to. Large car park at the rear. Reasonably sized venue. Very busy but still had us seated within 10 minutes of arriving. Knowledgeable waiting staff. Very helpful in offering their advice on the menu items and guided us to a good selection. Fast service from the kitchen. Food was at the table just over 20 minutes from ordering, and everything was cooked to perfection.
Particular favourites are the lamb chops, chicken tenders and chicken jalfrezi. Tandoori naan was excellent too.
Overall, good experience. The food certainly did the talking for this establishment.
H. K.
Consistently tastey food everytime I've been. Ordered the butter chicken along with the lamb rogan josh curry, lamb chops and garlic naans.
G. B.
Lovely food. But you cannot make advance booking unless you have a big group. The place is crowded.

The absolute best!! Been there many times and love the variety that they have to offer. The masala chips, butter chicken and the passion fruit daiquiri!!!

Saffron Garden
During the summer of Covid 19, Saffron Kitchen opened up Saffron Garden.
They had a bbq pop up restaurant at the rear, we 3 set meal. We had plenty of meat and starters and the portion size was very generous.

great aromatic authentic tasting food.hired the private room for segregation purposes and service was spot on..managed to have 10 happy ladies and 30 happy children.

I've been to saffron tons of times and i can't get enough 😍. The food is amazing a bit pricey but so worth it. Been with the family a few times (30 ppl group kids and adults) and we always have such an amazing memorable evening. Staff are really nice and try there best with everything. Good authentic Indian food. Masala chips are amazing. Biryani is ok, abit on the bland side. Daal Ghosh pilau was really good. Bhuna Ghosh was well cooked none of the raw spice taste. Good place for planning events as they have a massive car park.

After the mess resturanteers made with the horrible cheap food they served in the name of Eat out to Help out. Finally a resturant that served good food. Loved the mix grill, enjoyed the Fish curry and the desserts were awesome.
S. W.
Fantastic food, great service, must book table first to avoid dissapointment. Great for friends and families
F. I.
Great tasting food, speed of service wasn’t bad at all. Staff were friendly and attentive.

It’s alright, service is excellent. Food has gone downhill, very overpriced. Service is spot on.

Super and excellent... Very friendly staff and awesome food. The food was pretty decently priced for London and it is good. I'm so happy to have had dinner with my wife today here and wow, amazing service.
A.
A spacious restaurant with a number of rooms. The restaurant also consists of a prayer space. In terms of food, all the food that the restaurant provides are of great standard. The are a variety of meals to choose from; the mixed grill is filling and has a lot of flavour, the curries have a lot of meat and are filling and the masala chips is really good.
S. K.
One of the best dipped fried ice cream I've ever tasted.. there is literally nothing like you. I was really skeptical about this but when I tasted it I realised it wasnt a bad choice.. now for the negative orange juice wasn't the best in the world. It was still so watery and the froth at the top separated from the water at the lower half of the glass.. as for the mixed grill everything was crazy tender I was shocked at how tender everything is but it was spicy like nothing I've ever had before.. it so spicy it even triggered my IBS I ran to the toilet within minutes that's how spicy the grilled meat was. If they cut the spices down a bit it will be the best grilled meat I would have ever had.. service was excellent

Lovely authentic food as well as fusion dishes from the Indian sub-continent. Restaurant has friendly staff, and are diligently adhering to the social distancing rules during this COVID era we are living through. There's an added bonus for people of faith - who have been designated a prayer room. All in all a great experience.
S. I.
Good food, love the mixed grill and Dahi puri!! Very tasty highly recommended!!
B. O.
By far the best Indian I’ve ever tasted. I have been there twice and it has been amazing both times. Food has so much flavour (especially the masala chips). Haven’t found anything on the menu that I dislike. 10/10 would recommend
m. s. M.
Saffron food is very nice and tasty but when we order food it's took long time to come.
S. H.
Really great food, masalla chips are soo good. All the curries are really well made, easy parking overall a great place to eat. Gets busy on the weekends
w. 4. u.
Always busy.
We were in the side room. The side room hasnt been decorated and shows wear and tear
S. A.
They have quite big portions. The samosa chaat below is a starter. I can eat loads and this place left me full with half bowl to go. The food is tasty though and I think worth it.
T. I.
Been here a few times. By far the best Asian curry place I've been to in my life! Don't usually go out for a curry as I have them at home but I was surprised at how good their Currys were. I recommend the butter chicken with garlic naan and their fried ice cream dessert which is perfect for those with a very sweet tooth
s. h.
Amazing food and service.
Food was tasty but slightly overpriced
S. A.
Nearly 3 weeks after my sister's Nikkah, guests are still talking about the great food, service and venue Saffron Kitchen/Luxe provided. The hall upstairs of the restaurant is a good size to hold various functions. The food was delicious and versatile and the staff / management were always available to meet our requirements to ensure my sister's big day was a success! Thank you Saffron Kitchen/Luxe.
H. A.
Always fantastic and worth the hour-long journey to get there. This restaurant does something magical with its food that keeps me going back. There is something for everyone here. My personal favourites are the fish curry and masala chips (of course)
H. I.
Good tasting food. Good quality and good service. Highly recommended.
S. A.
I used Saffron Luxe as the location for my Nikkah ceremony. MashaAllah what an amazing experience. The quality of the food was exceptional and the customer service provided by the staff and manager (Haroon) was brilliant. I would highly recommend using this venue for any event because they help cater to all different needs! Will defo be coming back here in the future :)
s. s.
First trip, despite being super busy, was seated straight away... Food was absolutely lush as were the drinks... Will deffo be going again... if you haven't tried this place then you really need to...
S. K.
I appreciate they busy but needs to improve the service at front door and booking system!
I. S.
A nice place on lea bridge road with a great reputation. Large car park at the rear, you can see the remains of a football club that existed once upon a time. A very busy restaurant. We went on a Monday evening and requested a table for 4, I was quoted 30 mins wait time which was about how long it eventually took. I phoned the day before to reserve but was told that reservation was only available for groups of 6 or more. The menu was quite varied with a lot of options. It's a little more expensive then the average in its category but so too was Customer service & Food. Excellent in fact. It's HMC and they have seperate prayer rooms for men & women. I would give 5 stars if they had a reservation system for any number as waiting for a table is annoying. 4.5 stars for me. Definitely recommend it.
N. B.
Amazing food ...huge portions , great service. Two people could share their rice and so flavoursome
R. E.
This place never fails me! Amazing food!! LOVE the butter chiken and mocktails are great too
M. A.
Lovely food. Their house style chips are a staple! Do book in advance as it tends to get busy.
M. W.
Lovely and fresh food
Each and every item we ordered was worth the money. Place is bit bussy so might have to wait to get the tables but in the end u gona love the taste and the service. Free parking as well at the back of the restaurant. Must visit this place if you are food lovers.
Z.
Without doubt, one of the best authentic Indian restaurant I’ve ever visited. Honestly can’t fault anything. The customer service was amazing, all staff members were helpful and lovely. Every dish had an authentic taste and was made to perfection. My favourite dishes were the chops and masala chips. I’d highly recommend anyone to go and visit, but do book a table in advance as the restaurant is always busy and so it should be. Simply beautiful tasting food.
S. R.
Delicious food, comfortable seating and excellent customer service!
I. A.
An absolutely lovely evening.the service and food were exceptionally good tonight.
Zakir was very attentive and was nice of him to spend a moment to make sure all was well even though the restaurant was busy as usual. Found the atmosphere very calm yet joyful. Can't wait to go again. Oh the mango prawn starter was superb.
K. M.
Very nice restaurant, a little expensive but good quality halal food.
M. A.
Great food , weekend should have website booking reverse weekend to table for whole family but instead waited like one hour half cos I came all way from north Arnos Grove . Unfortunately if you call them to book table before arrival there but advise you guys to call
Before avoid disappointment
K. A.
Was ok, couldn't book for the 15 of us as it was a busy night but the manager looked after us very well and made us space in the separate VIP area. Food was overall good, kids burgers were surprisingly good although somewhat spicy though.
f. s.
The food was very delicious i also like the service
R. c.
Food was delicious, lamb chops samosa chat Mango Lassi are some of the must try dishes .
A.
The food was Banging, first time I've been. The service was on point. Between 15 people food came up to £340 that was cheap.
R. B.
Tasty food and fast service
L. B.
Food was lovely here and the portions were very generous for the price. Could do with improving the upstairs decor, but overall it was very nice.
H.
We attended the Saffron garden marquee behind the shop. It was a truly magical atmosphere with some amazing food. It was a set menu with their best food from the restaurant. At only £20 per person I can understand why the place was buzzing! Each course was delicious and the service was great! Really friendly staff members who were quick to cater to us. A shame the summer has ended and the garden area has gone now but hope to see it next summer! I applaud the owner and the concept!
S. A.
Delicious food, friendly and fast service. Food arrived very quickly and was yummy
M. M.
Alhamdulillah as always excellent food and customer service 😎
H. A.
Food is really good just love it and would recommend it to more people
A. J.
Very busy as usual hence a few slip ups one of the dishes ordered didn't come out then we realised we had no plates then a shortage of cutlery nevertheless when these issues was pointed out was sorted fairly quickly having said that the reason for visiting was for the food which again absolutely delicious and of the usual high standard would not hesitate to recommend saffron kitchen.
M. A.
Amazing food every time - food was fantastic as usual
G. R.
The staffs were very friendly and professional, the atmosphere was brilliant the meal was out of the world. .I'm going to rate them 10/10 , I will return back in the near future 🌹
D. M.
Nice venue, went for a wedding and can fit up 1000 people I think
M. G.
quality indian food ,best mango lassi and butter chicken
I. P.

This was the 3rd time we have hired out for a family occasion 60 family members and each one had nothing but praise for them try the shoulder of lamb wow ...
R. H. R.
Tried the lamb chops... it was the best iv had. Also had daal gosht biryani and masala chips, that was really nice aswel. Service was great and staffs were friendly. Will defo recommend. Will return. Great stuff
Q. H.
Lovely Indian food. One of the best I've been to
S. A. K.
The most delicious Indian food I have ever had. Masala chips are irresistible.
A.
Food is definitely worth the wait. Owners are usually around to make sure the staff are working properly. Food is great!
A. L.
Great place to eat, curry is tasty and nice portions. Friendly staff as well.
B. P.
Service is good and friendly, food came out fast and is tasty.
I. V.
Food is nice, tasty, but the lamb chopped is not cooked full.
S. F.
Very good hospitality and atmosphere. Lovely food too
F. R.
Starters are fantastic but the mains leave alot to be desired. Pricey for the quality and service provided.
S. F.
The venue on 1st floor is perfect for small weddings and spacious parking.
F. G.
Good food. Great chips. Friendly service.
T. S.
Best Curry I've had since moving to London. Absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend the Chicken Tikka.
S. G.
Really delicious food — one of the best we have had. Ordered to pickup and takeaway and seemed busy and super fresh. Will be back!
A. A.
Good food, huge portions, plenty of parking . Recommended
A. L.
Delicious meal and helpful staff. Very busy in the evening though.
S. K.
It was great. Went with a very large group and they managed to get us seated together fast. The food was yummy too
M. K.
Very nice restaurant, Masala chips were so nice! Also has parking in the back 👍🏼
M. K.
Good service, main frustration was that the food we ordered was very mild; I assumed that south Asian food is spicy by default, but maybe it was just the dishes we ordered. However, to avoid things like this in future, I recommend saffron kitchen adds spiciness ratings for each dish on their menu, like some restaurants have.
I. A.
Fantastic place great crowd nice staff very reasonable prices
s. p.
Dont know where to start with this place. We went twice in 1 weekend as its soo good. Great service and food was out of this world.
F. M.
Food was good, wait time was crazy and service was ok. Will be back soon.
H.
Best food but a bit pricey
A. V.
Great jalfrezi, nice vibe inside. Can get takeaway tubs too.
A. A. b.
It was just oakey the food wass but the chicken was too sweet
M. H.
Food was decent but I would say not worth the price. I think this place is so over rated. It's so busy and it's just cramped. You got people looking at you from waiting area whilst your eating. The food had no spice and was sweet in some cases when a curry really should be hot with some spice. I think the desert had more flavour than the actual food.
S. T.
Please ignore the negative reviews by petty people.
I have been coming to this restaurant on occasions for 8 years and I can hand on heart say the food is amazing and the waiters work hard!
IF there is a long wait apply common knowledge it MEANS the place is in demand and is reputable.
Lastly if you don't want to smell of samosas or curry don't wear your so called best clothes. They clearly make FRESH FOOD maybe that's why we smell when walking out.
B.
This place is amazing!!! Been going for a few years now and they never disappoint. Staff is attentive and the food service is fast. There is a small wait when you first come but for the good food you get it's not an issue. The best part of the trip was that it was my sister's birthday and they heard about it and so when we ordered dessert they put a candle in hers.
J. H.
Good food, but very busy!!!
B. S.
The food taste exceptionally well even the staff are super friendly and helpful. The food came in a timely manner, portion sizes are just right. I can not recommend this place enough. Definitely worth your time and visit. I really enjoy dining here with friends and family. One of my top 5 favourite places and I don't say that lightly.
F. A.
Great as always
M. U.
Lovely food and decently priced. Can’t wait to visit again! Must try their butter chicken and chicken nambali.
S. A.
Fantastic place. Lots and Lots of parking space. I loved the food it was very tasty. Very busy place. We went early to guarantee a seating place.
S. G.
They have kindly been donating food for the NHS at the moment. I've had a few meals provided by them and they have all been exceptional. Without a doubt some of the better Indian food in London.
Hope to visit the restaurant in person once the current situation has passed. Would encourage everyone to do the same to express your thanks.
A. A.
Clean & tidy place food is good, keep it up guys
M. E.
One of the best curry restaurants I've been to in all my time in London. The mixed grill is to die for, the fish curry is so creamy and tasty, and the veggie curry is the best thing on the menu. I've never been disappointed going here for dinner and I always suggest it and take friends when they come to stay.
S. T.
This restaurant used to be lovely (been going for years) but it has gone downhill in recent months. Prices have increased yet food quality has decreased. The butter chicken seems to taste different each time we visit. Always come out smelling of fried food due to the kitchen being partly open. On a positive: Parking (free and nearby) is good though which is usually a rare find in the area. Mango lassi is lovely.
A. L.
Can't fault the food in any way. Delicious chops and masala chips. The wait is atrocious though.. got there at 815.. and sat at a table at 950... then the wait for someone to come take our order was another 20mins! By the time we started eating it was 1035! So over 2 hours after arriving... not sure its worth that kind of wait when you have kids!
H. S.
The best prawn curry and lamb dish I've ever eaten. We attended an event in the function room in the afternoon the staff were professional, the food was delicious, and the venue was beautiful. We were in the area so decided to return on a evening which was equally outstanding. I will most certainly return and pay the price for the fantastic food and service. Booking a table is recommended on the evening.
F. L.
Food was okay but staff were polite 4/5
S. G.
The food the venue its amazing the food was excellent no one can beat saffron it's the best in London.
O. A.
Really enjoyed their hamper which included several curries, sides and desserts. The lamb pilau rice, butter chicken and gajar halwa were amazing. I loved the mango lassi as well.
R. F.
By far the best Asian Restaurant in EastLondon, always a pleasure to eat there with our loved ones. A bit crowded during the weekend but it's all worth it. You must try the chicken curry, it's delicious!
N. M.
great food nice environment with friendly staff.
A. H.
Very busy for midweek, testimony for how nice the food is!
M. B. A. Z.
Had a nice time with family in private room . recommended
S. A.
We normally like the food here, but our last visit was a disappointment. Food came over an hour late and it wasn't tasty. It was very busy because of the eat to save scheme and as a result food and service wasn't upto their usual standard.
M. A.
Amazing, authentic food as well as fusion dishes from the Indian sub-continent. Food is packed full of flavour and the service is top🥰
L. A.
We had an event here last week in their entertainment suite upstairs. The event catered for well over 200 people and was brilliantly run. The food arrived very quickly after we had all arrived and sat down. It was family service where all the food was placed in the middle. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was excellent. We have also attended the restaurant and can’t get enough of their butter chicken and Masala chips!! Highly recommend a visit. There is a reason why it always busy.
K. H.
Absolutely fantastic. I have moved to London recently and I cannot say that I have eaten at s better establishment over the last two years. This has been the best Indian restaurant I have dined in for sure. Not only was the food great but I would say it was definitely great value as well. The service was great, even though it was quite busy And the staff were very friendly an welcoming.
I will definitely be coming again.
B. O. B.
Great food and service! Dessert very good
T. M.
The best thing I like about this place is their desert! The Pani Puri is Delicious
I.
4.5 I'd give it. Food was really really nice and at a good price - only annoying thing was the upstairs hall and the payment at front of the restaurant.
O. F.
A hit and miss - mainly because of the service. The food is always excellent, and if anything is not up to standard the boss man is always happy to help. However, junior members of staff and waiters have on occasion demonstrated a tendency of being extremely rude and dismissive towards customers and even confrontational when it comes to reservations and waiting times, and I have seen several barge customers' shoulders while they're eating, and otherwise being clumsy to the point of interference. Would not be my first choice of places to dine, but I usually go as part of a group where someone else has organised it.
J. J.
Excellent service friendly staff nice clean place serving big portions very tasty dishes throughout the menu 👍🏾
J. M.
I callled the restaurant a day before to book 2 seperate tables due to last minute birthday plans. Managed to speak to the manager who was so kind and helpful and got a booking for me.. Upon arrival the restaurant was very compliant with covid regulations and allowed me to have a private section of the restaurant with the tables 2 meters apart. The staff was very accommodating and treated us like royalty. Considering the last minute booking my party and I throughly enjoyed our experience.
D. A.
Always amazing food here if you don’t mind waiting for a table. Good parking too.
R. B.
Saffron catered for my wedding yesterday and I didn’t want to waste any time writing a review! Words cannot describe how amazing the service I received was! When it comes to catering they are honestly exceptional at what they do! From start to finish the family offered us numerous tasting opportunities to make sure we were 100% satisfied! The food was made fresh and was brought out hot by their lovely waiters. My guests were honestly amazed by the quality and quantity of food they had and the great service that was provided!!! 5 stars is really not enough!!! Thank you!!!
C. S.
Some of the best Indian food I’ve tried in the area. Really good portion sizes and really fresh and bold flavours! Also great decor inside
A. W.
I’m surprised by any negative reviews of Saffron Kitchen. The food is excellent - the best lamb chops you’ll ever have - and the prices are modest for London. I’ve always found the service really friendly and efficient. They must be doing something right by the number of people trying to get a table on any day of the week. My tip is to go as early as possible.
M. Z.
Reading the recent reviews I was about concerned regarding the new saffron garden and its set menu. Previously had eaten inside around a year back and never returned till today. I arrived at 5pm without a reservation and was given a table straight away of my choice. Straight away we were given the instructions of how the grill menu works and what extras we could order. The starters were ready within 5 minutes. There were always waiters around constantly asking if we needed anything. (A little disturbing as sometimes you just want to eat in peace, however positive that they were always available.) The mains came when we were ready. No rush to finish the starters and even given an option to pack whatever we wanted. Mains was very nice and had taste. Lamb chops weren't all that in honesty. Lastly the dessert was served and we enjoyed that too, to conclude with a karak chai on the way out which we thoroughly enjoyed as a classic Indian street tea.
All in all I gave them 5 stars. The outdoor setting was perfect, food was delicious, and waitees were spot on ! Not to forget the 50% off which was handy.
L. U.
This is second time I came here first was wife my wife and then last night with my family to celebrate an occasion a group of 15-16 people and we had an amazing time. Food was amazing. The waitresses and waiters very helpful. We were not rushed at all had a nice time. Great value for money. Seating and whole enviroment was very clean and tidy. And parking was no issue as they have a big car park at the rear. Would highly recommend
K. D.
This place is amazing. Great having a fantastic Indian restaurant close by. The food is delicious. I now know why this place is always busy. The staff are friendly, the service is quick and efficient and it is good value for money. Sweet lassi......OMG....still dreaming about that drink Yum!
M. P.
I had my wedding there a while. There was a delay in the food but while it was being prepared we just took family and friends pictures to fill in the time. We had the venue for 4 hours and that was plenty of time. The food came and was served in good paces. The food it self was delicious. Would definitely recommend this place to hold events. It catered for us and we only had 100 people. So perfect in that aspect.
M. R.
Food average.
Service is good.
G. K.
Service was excellent and the food never disappoints. Best lamb chops in the entire world.
Z. A.
Good Place to try Indian Food. very helpful staff
G. Z.
excellent service, I had my wedding reception here 3 years ago, the food big flavours the venue perfect and the staff really helpful- love this place- Adam the boss provided a special menu for me and my husband. My father in law loved the place and so did my father both gentleman in their 90s usually difficult to please but this place is outstanding and they were very happy that we chose this lovely place.
Thank you for making our wedding reception perfect. we have now re booked for a family party.
H. Y.
Butter chicken, lamb chops, fried ice cream all 10/10. Good stuff love you Saffron Kitchen
F. I.
Food is good but not as it used to be. Very busy place and they don't take reservations for less than a particular number. So be ready to wait. Open kitchen so make sure you wash your clothes when you reach home. Ample parking at the back of restaurant.
Overall the experience was good but has been better in the past.
S. U.
Expected the food to be better, but not that bad. Service and restaurant very good.
A. H.
Had a really good experience here. I have been here twice. First time with friends and a second time for a wedding. Both times i was not disappointed. I loved the food the service and the desserts. They even have a prayer room. Also for those who cant handle spice you definitely would love this place. Those who love spice you can add as much as you want.
S. L.
Visited here manybtimes in the past and just had a lovely takeaway order, lovely Indian food and good atmosphere, also accommodated wheelchair access. I think that's worth mentioning! Thank you.
J. H.
Beautiful place and exceptionally lovely good. High standard of presentation and the food taste incredible you won't be disappointed here. Just make sure you book in advance!
M. M.
Food is very good. One of my favourites for an Indian.
I. “. M. M.
Went with a large group (15 people). Had the fish curry with pilau rice which we enjoyed, also had chicken Nambala strawberry daiquiri (amazing) but I am somewhat disappointed as they used to do them in large sizes. Would be good to bring that back. Overall very good
S. R.
Always good food and good customer service. They also have a good choice of desserts too. Weather you like chicken, meat or fish... they have something on the menu for you to enjoy. They also take privacy very seriously if you ask for it. They have private booths for you, if you want a private meal with family or friends. The only thing I can complain about this place is waiting time to get seated if it is busy. Other than that, it’s all good!
J. F.
Food was ok.... bought mixed grill and chicken was tasteless.... after eating yummy lamb chops took a bit on chicken.. i still regret about that bite.. toilet was not clean. Left a big roll of tissue on wet surface to wipe hands.. that became useless.. no soap to wash especially at this corona time.. massive parking area behind the restuarent.. make sure u wear ur rain boots if its rainy.. service is good.. if your more than 4 reserve it bit early so you will get a good place.. lots of private area.. ..
K. O.
Fantastic curry! As good as I've ever eaten anywhere. No.booze but the sensational food makes up for it. No wonder this is such a popular place. Well worth the half hour wait for our table.
m.
10/10!!! Amazing food and service at saffron kitchen. Big thanks to the lovely staff Gabby and the two other gentlemen who served us during our visit. Recommended!!
A. A.
I probably just had the best indian - this year and I have had a few including Chutney Mary (which was exceptional). Ok was was extremely hungry but I must say the food was amazing came on time - did I say I was very hungry. I would highly recommend this place. It was busy for a reason.
H. M.
Food was amazing but service was a bit lacking. Very busy when we arrived, thankfully we booked tables beforehand otherwise the wait would've very long! Beautiful decor inside and lovely atmosphere. Very hot though; need AC turned on or installed! Overall a great place to eat with family and friends
M.
Amazing food special thanks to Sheldon for the great service! And Harun for taking care of us!
G.
In the mood for a curry? This is the spot to go. They do a wide range of traditional Indian and south east Asian dishes that are made exceptionally well. The biggest plus for me is the continuous quality that they do, I've been many many times and never found myself dissatisfied at the food/staff or general atmosphere.
I'd definitely go for their chicken/lamb dishes with a naan on the side, Fantastic. 5* for sure.
X.
Very popular restaurant, I enjoyed my food and tried one of their mocktails. Staff were helpful and friendly and meet all I need for a group of 20. The only down fall were the toilet, as there is only two cubicles for the women serving such a busy restaurant. And the main let down was the park facility as it was really muddy which is why I am rating it 4 stars instead of 5. I was lucky to have a spear pair of shoes to walk from the car park to the restaurant.
A. E.
Absulitky love this place food is amazing I was so impressed that I ate more the I was ment to food is on point this will be my regular whenever I am arround I cannot tell you the flavours th at were kn the food. Well done chef you are amazing
M. H.
The food was great, I ordered Chicken steak which was full of flavour, however, it became cold very quickly. I would also like to advise the business to invest in some 'steak knives' as standard cutlery was given, making it hard to cut through the steak.
N. Y. I.
Nice resteraunt to come with your family. Staff are very welcoming and nice to speak to.
They have plenty of free parking facilities which makes it easy for their customers and their food is good.
They also have prayer and washing facilities for those who need it which makes it very convenient.
I would definitely recommend coming here for a nice meal with the family.
Y. B.
Waiting times are quite long but food is lovely, especially the masala chips
K.
Went there on Sunday with my family food was good main they could have improved on however the way the owner treats the staff is disgusting word of advice take the waiters in another room if you want to speak to them in that manner honestly it’s disgusting how he treats his workers felt so sorry for the poor girl if I was her I would leave in a split second nasty Bully he is! To the lovely lady that served us thank you for everything u did even though he emebarssed you in front of the whole restaurant you truly worked in a professional manner.
S. B.
Good food. But we where sat upstairs, it was freezing.
I never eat with my coat on, but I had to.
Ruined our first night out after the last lockdown was lifted.
A. M. G.
Food is superb! And I'm not a great fan of spicy food at all, but I have to say the quality and freshness of the produce is excellent. If you are a fan of Indian food, I think you must try this place, can't disappoint you!
M. B.
The quality and taste of the food here is consistent and on point; a riot of flavour in your mouth. The doughnut desert is the one; warm and crispy on the out side, soft and fluffy in the in side with the cool sensation of vanilla ice cream, not to mention the dusting of cinnamon... 😋
M. i.
Food is perfect 👍💯
Service can improve
S. W.
Really, really excellent food! Amazing lamb chops & the best peshwari naan I’ve ever had! Desserts were crazy good too, so make sure you save some space! Friendly and efficient service too. Will be back again tomorrow, no joke.
S. D.
After a really poor and embarrassing second experience I wanted to go back and give this place another go especilly as my family had my nephew's wedding at this venue previously during our first ever visit and food was good. This last thied visit was much better and had a lovely professional waitress and of course my favourite American waiter who over saw our experience. Food was great and experience was enjoyable! I'm glad I went back so we can both put the previous messy experience behind us.
A. M.
We first went to Saffron Kitchen 2 years ago and it was amazing. The food, service eveeything! We recommended it to friends and they all loved it. A week ago we called there for reservation and the person on the phone was rude and didn't tell us anuthing about reference number or any other form confirmation. On the day, when we got there we found out there was no booking. It took us 1 hour waiting and arguing because we were a large group and it was already 9 pm. The condition of the toilets was pathetic. No soap, tissues, hand drier was noy working.
Food was good though.
m. h.
Massala chips were on point, butter chicken curry and lamb curry was delicious as the meat and chicken were soft to bite into and had so much flavour, lamb chops for starters are a must as they were juicy and bursting in flavour and finally the keema nan bread complemented the curry dishes. Staff were on point with service and didn't forget to bring extra food when asked for like other places and atmosphere is amazing
A. E.
Visited here on a day out and loved the food/service/environment. The food is halal and from what I remember, they don’t play music.
I would recommend the lamb curry - it’s worthwhile knowing two people can eat from it. I’ve forgotten the name of the Algerian waiter with the pony tail but he showed great hospitality to us.
S.
Really tasty food, very different compared to other indian grill places. You can really see and taste the effort that goes into the food. I would of given 5 stars, only crap thing is, sometimes it is so busy it takes way to long for me and my wife to be seated. Not having a booking system (first come first serve only) really does not do the place justice. But obviously its a system that works for them.
The management are very good, great to see them get involved and always taking feedback at the payment stage.
Keep up the good work
D. A.
Very nice restaurant. The atmosphere is divine and staff very friendly.
All the restaurants i have been too there hasnt be any staff thT were friendly like these ones.
Food is amazing their masalah chips are on point and there mango lusee is amazing.
The curry is amazing.
This the only restaurant i have been too where we had a private room to ourselves with a TV.
The customer service is amazing and they cook the food very quickly.
Its a reasonable price.
M. B.
Food are well presented and taste just as good

Food is average and a bit pricey, we didn't like the mushroom starter but they didn't make us pay for it which was very kind of the staff. This is more of a family place rather than a romantic fine dining experience.
I would however go back because of the hospitality and maybe a dessert.

Delicious quality food with amazing friendly staff. They have a parking at the back which saves you a lot of hassle.
You might need to wait 10 to 20 minutes to get a seat on the weekends when it gets crowded.
Make sure to book ahead if you are a party of 6 or more.
Must try the Chicken Nimbala

Extremely busy all the time we waited 1 hour to be seated

Bad service, not only were the starters served late without the appropriate plating, the utensils were not clean up to a good standards. The table began to pile up with dirty plates and twice we had to ask for the dessert menu - it seemed to be that we were forgotten the first time.

Possibly the best non buffet Pakistani restaurant in London, ample parking, fast and friendly staff, food is simply amazing, high quality ingredients used. Price is slightly higher than average, but then again i dont think you can get soo many great dishes all in one restaurant.

Great service and food is always consistent. Book in advance as it’s getting more and more popular. For this level of cuisine the prices are very reasonable. Always a que of people waiting for a table but that’s because people love the food! There is a very large ca park which is a blessing as the main road has very restricted parking.

Food is fantastic, the only thing that let's this place down is the queue managing system. You could be waiting for up to 2 hours for a table at this place, as they don't do reservations. Person in charge of the waiting list is quite grumpy as well, which doesn't help when waiting for a table.
If the food was a bit cheaper, then it would be worth the wait, or otherwise stick to reservation places.

Visited after 2 years. Car park needs to be renovated as it's completely dark and flooded with water.
Waiters were friendly enough but service could be better. I've had much better service at other restaurants. I can't fault the food however which was excellent. Portions were OK for the price.
We had the karak chai at the end and it wasn't the best. Perhaps they should take some lessons on making good karak chai. Overall, worth the visit for the food.

Very nice restaurant & free car park with a variety of different foods available for a reasonable budget .I find the food is always well done.On my latest visit was made to feel welcome by staff and I had a beef stir fry with noodles. I come here often. Restaurant is quite big but always busy so may be worth booking a table if you're thinking of visiting at weekends. The ambience in Saffron Kitchen is warm & welcoming and is somewhere lots of families come to eat. I will be visiting again soon.

Very enjoyable dinner with the Mrs.
I would suggest that they take bookings of less than 6 ppl. That way the could avoid the chaotic scenes once you walked in.
And id you they did maybe offer those who are waiting a small complementary somosa, so we don't all go hungry.
Staff attentive and pleasant. Food very enjoyable

Been few times, average indian food, average mixed grill (kebabish mixed grill is better).
However the chicken steak with pickle sauce from the fusion menu is very nice, i only go back for that

A bit pricey. Had one great night then one bad night, regarding quality of food, within 2 weeks ... So it's a bit hit and miss but great location, beautiful decor and the best drink is the Bombay Martini!!!

Saffron has been a excellent experience we as a family went to celebrate our mothers birthday from the minute we walked in to the minute we left was just brilliant.
I and my family enjoyed the food throughly excellent staff didn't have to wait for food that long was served in quick time.
I recommend this saffron restaurant to everyone to try I will definitely go back again.

Visited Saffron Kitchen for my son's first birthday (a special occasion for any parent) Getting into the car park took our guests over 20 minutes as their was a function and the wedding group was blocking the car park entrance. We were a group of 20 in a private room. We had no one dedicated person serving us we kept having to go to the main part of the restaurant to order drinks, ask for cutlery etc. One of our starters was served after the mains. We asked for the tables to be cleaned after starters and mains so we could cut a cake and have the dessert we ordered. This was not done for us, or at least not quick enough. I eventually used baby wipes - I had to clean the tables! We had barely cut the cake, the dessert and tea had just been served and we were very rudely told we would have to pack up and vacate for another group. No guests had their dessert, we paid for tea which no one got to drink. We had to pack up the cake and leave. All in all a bitter end to an okayish evening!
Food was amazing couldn't fault it. Management rude and insensitive
Staff look like they want to be anywhere else but there and operate on a "go slow" mode.
Wasn't impressed with the service at £20 per head and no concession for children.
Definitely lacking when it comes to group bookings!
The 3 stars is only because food was amazing but the enjoyment of it was spoilt by the lack of service.
If I was to judge on service only even one star would be too much.

Loved it. Food was absolutely great. Portion was generous. Service was good. Atmosphere was nice. After eating, we were not forced to leave. Very family friendly. Cozy and pretty. Totally recommended and will be definitely going back.

Great place. It was extremely busy and there was a bit of a wait but that goes to show the reputation of this restaurant. Food was very good and slightly different to the usual Indian restaurant offering. Service was impeccable, which was impressive considering how busy it was.

The food was nice. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only reason why I didn't give them a 5* is because I have come out of other dining places feeling very happy and content. But this place was good

The customer service and restaurant was brilliant but, the food was not up to standard and way over priced. The shahi gosh was totally inedible and the children meal lamb burger tasted like a kebab in a bun. Good atmosphere though definitely worth giving a try. Unfortunately I won’t be returning again

The starters were very good. Loved the chaat. Curries were OK, nothing extraordinary. We did book beforehand so didn't have to wait around. And I would recommend that a booking is made otherwise you could be waiting for a while. There are parking facilities which is a bonus, although not the best. The staff were all great, friendly.

Been here a few times now and can honestly say the food is nice, Particularly the starters. I would visit this place just for there starters and leave satisfied. It can get busy so if your in large groups I would advice booking in advance as from my experience on busier times you can wait 30-40 minutes. definitely worth a visit.

Amazing food! Great taste! 💖👌🏻

Amazing food and amazing service! We came here on an extremely busy Saturday night and our food arrived within 10-15 minutes of ordering. The Murgh Jalfrezi is a must to try, aswell as their Masala Chips (a popular choice for many). I also liked their fried ice cream. The prices may be viewed as steep with an initial glance at the menu, but definitely worth it. Highly recommended!

We were asked to wait 45 minutes for the table but we had towait for over 1 hour 30 minutes in our car as we were advised by them to wait there. Food is average. Mixed grill has a quarter chicken (leg n thigh) massive piece in it that is not even nice. Lamb karahi in mains was nice. Butter chicken is average. Samosa chat is not very nice. Overall below average experience. Definitely not worth the long wait.

Most nights this place has the kind of crowds that West End clubs can only dream of. Where Indian fusion is concerned, Saffron is the true alpha - there is absolutely nothing above it in the food chain. The service is first class but the food arrives in undreamed of measures. Credit to Adam and his crew, even the most demanding of patrons and complex of orders are satisfied at the time, and this is the reason its routinely packed. I'd recommend booking in advance - the food is just too good to leave to chance.

Have been a few times and the service and food have always been brilliant. It was a family members birthday so booked our own room and they went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly. Would highly recommend!!!

I Was surprised that they don't take booking it is on First Come first served, quiet busy we had to wait for 25 minutes, was not bad as a was told the a average is One hour.
Food was good if you like it spicy, descent prices and our waitress was absolutely excellent a special mention for her.

Really nice food. Always busy so don't expect to be seated straight away. Nice and friendly staff. Love their starters. Falooda is also one of the best in London.
F. L.
Waited around half an hour to be seated as the restaurant is very busy. The food on the menu looks appealing, however, the taste is very average. The desserts are different and are interesting and are slightly better. Nothing to get too excited about.

Great food, arrived in good time, very busy for a Tuesday wasn't expecting a 45min wait but nonetheless, lamb chops were on point, jalfrezi on point, chana chaat on point, attentive staff, nice atmosphere, well done. if there's one thing i would say is the parking lot at the back is very bumpy perhaps they can do something to make it easier for customers to park there maybe.

Classic mixed grill is amazing, best I've ever had. Lamb chops were 11/10.
The chicken chow mein was quite poor, was bland, not enough chicken for £12.95.
One thing I noticed is that they use Celebrations chocolates in their milkshakes rather than full chocolate bars (as was the case with my snickers milkshake) - a bit cheeky as I could taste the difference - yes there's a subtle taste and texture difference between celebrations snickers and normal snickers.
The restaurant can get a bit smokey (maybe due to poor ventilation) and you may leave with that smell on your clothes.
I'd definitely visit again for the mixed grill.
Overall would recommend.

Update:
Visited again, seemed like the mixed gill's portion size has decreased since I last visited!

Amazing food, great atmosphere. Really like the fact they are going by rules and keeping everyone metre apart! Food 5/5

Excellent food
Lovely atmosphere
Great service
Good choices on the menu
We always go here when we don’t know where to go as it never disappoints
A great selection of innovative and classic desserts too!
Love it!

Nice ambiance and excellent taste

Good food but portions could be slightly bigger or they could charge less. Its very nice buy I've had better. £2.99 for two naans chopped into four gives the illusion you are getting alot but you'll see you end up buying more (nice tactic, not so much for the consumer. Come on guys the profit on naan breads is already so high). Anyway apart from that it is a pleasant environment, some staff members were very helpful coming back to ask if everything was alright, some of them seemed like headless chickens as if they didn't know what was happening and pulled in all directions by people calling them whilst still not having completed the first query. Just something management needs to look at and then I will revise my rating on my next visit.

Very long waiting time but our own fault for not reserving. Food came out very quickly after we were seated and orders were taken. Large portion sizes so definitely worth it

Sleek modern restaurant with a buzzing vibe. The food left a little to be desired though. Fresh high-quality ingredients were used but I found the the seasoning was out of balance and overpowered by spice on virtually all dishes. Chicken Nambali was my favourite, hearty comfort food that you would eat on a freezing winters day. The portions were huge and we struggled to finish the mains. We encountered dirty cutlery and plates, and the seating was a little too cosy. The waiting staff were very pleasant and accommodating, but the host needs to learn a lesson in hospitality and manners.

We have been here a few times now. The food is very nice. The prices are a little high compared to other restaurants but the quality of the food speaks for itself.
Best to make a reservation (it does get busy)

Went here with my family, we ordered mixed grill, naan, chilli fries, and mojitos.
The food was ok, nothing great, just ordinary fusion food. The service could be better as it was slow and waiters were inattentive, we had to constantly ask for things like straws and sauces and napkins.
Wouldn’t mind going again if passing by in the area but not a place we would select to go.

HMC certified witch is good! reason for 3 stars waiting time all together was around 1 hour 10 minutes that includes 55 min wait to be seated then 15 to 20 mins for food to be served and the toilets where a dismal sight urine and pubic hair everywhere plus very small. in terms of the food, all the food I had was very tasty masala chips are really good it all cone to the table hot staff seem pretty friendly drinks are really nice bit pricey though my meal cost 58 pound that's for two adults and 2 kids with two drinks no desert
water is provided at tables

We visited this establishment and the food was out of this world.
Nice hearty portions that you can take home if you don't manage to eat it all.
Service was really good and the welcome at the door similar .
Off street parking around the back which is good for anywhere in London.
I would certainly recommend and re-visit
