Sahara Grill is a well established restaurant. Great for families and gatherings. With a large menu there is something for everyone.

Sahara Grill Whitechapel has very friendly and polite staff. We went there for a family dinner. I ordered lamb leg steak which was one of the most tender meat I have ever had. Most of us had rice instead of chips which they were happy to accommodate. It was delicious but a bit over-priced for what you receive. As we left, it started to get very busy, as they do takeaways also.The service was swift and we were not kept waiting. Overall, it was a lovely dinner and good portions of food but they could do better on presentation. Also they do not sell alcohol.

Nice place easy to find, just off the main road. Usually busy, but is nicer when it's quiet. Seating upstairs and downstairs. Can't go wrong with the burgers if you're not looking to experiment, pictured is the Mex. Cajun steak is nice too I'm not into fat chips but I'm told they're decent. Price is reasonable, and service usually good.

We ordered the T-Bone Steak with steak chips and Lamb Steak and a mint crisp mojito. I would definitely recommend T-Bone Steak don't have the Lamb Steak. It wasn't cooked properly and didn't have much flavour. On other hand the TBone Steak was flavourful. The steak chips were okay. The mojito was good too. The food is halal. The staff were very friendly. However, I am giving a 3 stars because I don't think the price is justified for the taste of food. I would for sure order the TBone Steak though that was good! Overall it was good but I wouldn't order the lamb steak again.

Ordered the lamb fillet steak, Sahara XXl burger, t bone and few kids meals. Food was average, flavours were nice and catered to an asian palate, Sahara xxl was okay, chips were plain, steak had lots of seasoning and gravy which overpowered a thin piece of meat therefore wouldn’t really consider it a steak meal. The main meal portion sizes were good however the kids meals were quite small. Decor was good and family friendly restaurant. Overall I don’t feel the price is justified.

Lovely service. Even though we arrived slightly late for our reservation, we were sat straight away and our food arrived promptly. One thing to note is that there isn't a available lift. But all in all Sahara Grill is a wonderful place to dine with the family. Many thanks to the staff.

Foods decent, I don't get why they make you wait so long when the place is empty? It just makes them look stupid as the waiter said "we are just checking if we have a table for you" and I the whole place was empty?? Also please don't be so tight with the chilli sauce, that's the only reason why I come. Your food can be dry so when I ask for it please don't hesitate...I would happily pay for it but don't give me one table spoon of sauce.

This is my favourite place to celebrate anything! My family always select Sahara for event or any occasion for celebrations. We have never ever had any complaints with the food, and can honestly say have tried EVERYTHING on their menu! The staff are so polite and attentive, and always helpful to recommend items, as we’ve tried everything, we usually like going for their recommendations! The spice levels are on point, I wish I had more photos. The portions are so accurate, not too much and not too less. The atmosphere is always so friendly and definitely family and children friendly.

I absolutely love this place, I've been going here for a number of years and they've never dropped the level of service. Food is served promptly even during their busy periods and you're not made to wait 40-45 mins like some places do. The staff are attentive and polite and always have catered towards customer needs. My personal favourites are the Porterhouse Steak and Sahara Lamb Leg Sirloin steak, absolutely beautiful!! I'd definitely recommend this place to others.

Overrated. The steak itself hasn't been improved at all since last having it in 2017 (was a regular customer prior to 2017). It doesn't justify the price and portion you are paying for. There used to bigger sides and ADDITIONAL sides (now non-existent, pay extra for coleslaw at £4, approx. 6-7 tablespoons worth, not justified) e.g. coleslaw and salad, before the price increase. Upon having being served it, I realised the plates were too small for all the food on it- the gravy was spilling down the sides of the plates. Whitechapel branch seems to always have this problem. The food itself tasted alright. Mushroom sauce is mediocre, a little too salty. Nothing exciting. That being said, Sahara Grill has never failed to cook my steak to my preference. The service is also very good. Overall, service is 5/5, taste 3/5, value 2/5.

Because it's fully halal and you can bea hundred percent certain that the food you're getting is Sharia compliant, it gets 3 stars, otherwise, I'd be giving them 1 or 2. So, I'll start with the positives: nice environment, nice location, nice building, nice enough staff. The bad: the air hurts the throat with the amount of chilli in the air. Myself and a friend were coughing away throughout the entire meal. If you LOVE spice, this will be your jam. But if you want food that's flavoured with anything else, then this place might not be your go to. Expect steak: spicy. Burgers: spicy. Chips: spicy. Rice: spicy. I didn't try the desert, but who knows? One item on the menu that was a saving grace was the mango frappe (essentially, a lassi, on ice). That was good and helped me finish my spicy steak. Dear restaurant: steak only needs butter, garlic, rosemary. That's all. Leave all those other masalas out for other items on the menu.

Delicious! I’ve eaten at Sahara Grill recenlty - and I was not disappointed! Their Burger is my favourite so far. Made perfectly and delicious! The restaurant is very nice nothing fancy to look at but the food is delicious. I ordered the beef burger. It was the best I ever tasted. The ingredients were nice and fresh. My beef was grilled with fresh onions before it was added piping hot to my burger buns. My friends had the same as me and equally expressed how delicious it was. I am going to try the lamb shawarma next time. And yeah... there most definitely will be a next time.

The food was quality went there for iftar. The only downside was that we arrived for half 7 and orders were taken. When time to break fast came had some water and went to the prayer room. The staff members were very rude saying wait 10-15mins to pray we need some time this was the first time seeing such a strange thing . They had no respect for customers time they said just wait for us to finish then we can pray in congregation. 20 of us waiting and we were called to pray next thing you know they had started already we missed surah fatiha how deceiving! Fix up and learn how to talk to customers

The food here was okay and while I expected better customer service since I chose to visit at an off-peak time for the restaurant, the service was substandard and frankly, lacked the greatness it is so well known for. Despite going in as a group of 6, we were given a squashed table for 4, something that really should have been looked at since the restaurant was empty. A tip for if you're going to order steak: demand a steak knife and don't let the waiters convince you that a butter knife is sufficient for steak (because it's not, it takes a million years to cut anything with it). I sincerely hope that when I revisit, it will be as good an experience as everyone gives raving reviews about.

Hummus? Peng. Wings? Ok King prawns? Price was not justified for its mediocrity. Lamb chops? Quite nice. The list above are the starters I shared with my and my pals on a warm summers evening in the heart of London. The place is located decently, central but tucked away on a street where parking is difficult (if not impossible) to acquire. The starters were overall decent, but nothing special nor mind-blowing. Surprisingly, though I rarely enjoy hummus, the hummus here was the most delightful hummus that has entered my dietary tract. I was disappointed by the fact that they did not have my desired cut of beef - the porterhouse. It's not like we visited late in the evening or anything, so I was quite taken aback and disappointed. Nevertheless, I internalised my frustration, and settled for another cut of beef. One this I did highly appreciate however, is that while many non-European places that sell steak, is that Sahara grill cooks their steak properly - by this I mean that I ordered medium rare and I received what was pretty much medium rare. Drinks were decent too I guess. Lack of fancy varieties, but nothing wrong with settling for some diet coke where something like Karma cola is unattainable.

The reception is perhaps the only aspect I can complain about. Since there are 2 desks (one for the hotel), it does feel a bit cramped when entering. Besides this, I can't emphasize how much I love this restaurant. I've been here more than 20 times over 2 years, and no experience was negative. The staff are friendly perfectly friendly, the food tastes amazing. The whole theme feels family oriented and luxurious while also respectful or vibrant and fun. All my celebrations or relaxing dinners take place here. I've still yet to try their whole menu but none of their food has disappointed so far. Their steak is to die for!

I went to Sahara grill on the recommendation of my sister. I was there with my children, mother and sister. The restaurant was quite full at 5pm on a Friday. We were seated downstairs and there was a lift. Good for my mum who finds walking difficult. The menu offered mainly burgers, steaks. No curries. The goods came quite quickly and was well cooked. It was enough to fill all of us. The server was very friendly and looking for ways to help us. The food is slightly pricey but I would visit again. I would recommend this place.

Excellent value for money, food was very well made. We all had something different and it all tasted amazing. I will be returning soon. If you make a reservation ask for seating downstairs, it's much nicer, and less public. As the restaurant is also part of the hotel. The staff have funny wireless headsets and love the show and theatrics that make it out to be a bigger deal than it is. Not that it was supposed to be, at least I don't think it is.

Regular Chips where freshly made, Sahara XXL - Marinated in Sahara Grill spices was really nice it's just it was a bit burnt rather then grilled but the tender chicken just made it so it cancels the burn crispy outside. I also rate their mint sauce it wasn't spicy it just had a unique sense of flavour. I would also rate the Barbican [Apple] juice. The staff on the day weren't too pushy as well giving me and the bros suggestion for the food as well so thank you for your hospitality.

A group of us went to eat there. As expected, given the location and demographic (relating to tastes), i can see why this "diamond in the rough" works to appease the local palettes. The food is decent, but far from relative to the cost, especially the lamb chops. The taste of the lamb chops were rather nice, but for a meager, 5 pieces (palm-sized), it iss something that is better suited to two-people maximum. Just be weary of this. I did not mind, but the waiter hadnt informed us of portion size when asked, so that we could have ordered some more etc, shall we say. The flavour of the grilled chicken is nice and i recommend it, but when ordered in a platter, you receive some half-cooked chips with a slab of coleslaw (ordered another one in case). Please take care of the simple things guys. I do not have much else to report, other than saying that the staff are respectful, not super engaging if you wish to gain suggestions/recommendations though. The place itself boasts a fairly comfortable, lovely low-lit setting/ambience which is family-friendly, with plenty of staff, that seemed to overwhelm the small-ish space that is on offer seating-wise (upstairs), but when calling for staff attention, they were not always attentive. I would not come back here by choice, but i would not talk my way out of going here, should someone else suggest this as a "night out". Had a really good night with the company we were with, and there was a place to pray at the back which was ample/clean enough. My experience of the one in Leytonstone many years ago, if i remember, was better, and the chef actually stayed a little longer to accommodate our dine-in order! That was class!

If there was 6* they deserved it big thanks to brother Omar who looked after our table, and thanks to brother Jamal who sorted our request we made. Just one piece of advice. Visited this place with my family ... excellent decor & looks very upmarket. The food was basic, we all had pretty much the same hot chicken steak with sides. I have to admit the spicy rice was different to anywhere ive eaten from before so that was a plus point. My only problem was the amount of roadmans in groups coming into the restaurant and just standing around at various tables chit chatting & spoiling the experience for people who are just there for a quiet meal. Went there today and ordered the T-bone steak done medium with chips for myself and a Mex burger with chips and coleslaw for the missus. Food came in a reasonable amount of time and portion size looked good, not too much or to little. My steak was just warm which I was disappointed with but tasted good so did not complain. As I ate the steak it got rarer and rare as I got closer to the bone to the point that it was raw! The steak chips were also barely warm. My wife's food on the other hand was cooked well, tasted great and was piping hot. Their coleslaw is amazing. We decided to order a cheesecake for dessert which was half frozen and a bit plain. On the whole it was an ok experience but could have been better. The service was good even though they forgot to give me a steak knife!

Many reasons for the three stars. Firstly the food is just above average, ordered a t bone steak well done, one could count the number of chips that came with it. Funny how they charge west end prices for some thing that does not come close. To top it all the staff started to rush us to go as soon as we finished our meal, it was not as if the place was bursting with diners and this was only 10.30 pm. We ended up going to a place a few doors away to have desserts and tea. If you plan to come here for a meal remember that parking is hell and you pay way over the top for a less than average meal.

Amazing food, visited with a group of friends all from different parts of Europe. The lamb chops are an absolute must have. 5 per portion. Also ordered fish bites. If you don't like spicy food avoid the hot items in the menu, it does have a kick. We ordered the Red Hot Burger (the spice makes the burger taste amazing, doesn't drown out the flavour of the rest of burger). Mex Border Burger (tastes amazing and the meat was was succulent). Beef Saute was brilliant. Feel sorry for my friend who shared some with the rest of us even though we were stuffed we finished half of it for her. We also got the mango frappe and the mango dream. Both were great but the mango frappe imo was better. Their service could do with a bit of improvement. Our drinks took ages to arrive and no one followed up with us when our food arrived. Saying all that the food was amazing and it cost roughly £25 per person at the end. Make sure you try the Trecal Sponge Pudding. It was like heaven inside our mouth. One last issue is that they don't do a large bottle of water. This was so much better then Tayyabs.

I've only ever ordered the steak from here and it's ok I wouldn't say it's the best steak I've had because it is a bit bland as one of the waiters has also said to me but with that being said adding their chilli sauce does wonders to the whole meal. It's not always too busy but finding parking is a mission itself as the roads near are always full of cars and you also need a permit but after 5 you can park without a permit, finding an empty spot near is very rare though.

Had a family meal here yesterday (Whitechapel) for Mother's Day and the food was AMAZING. The lamb fillet steak that I ordered medium rare was a little on the rare side, but it went perfectly with the gravy and chips. We did have to ask someone to take our food order as we had been waiting at least 10 minutes for a waiter - but I guess this is to be expected as it was so busy (book a table in advance if you can). The starters came before our drinks did but the main course came as soon as our starters were finished... perfect timing! The Sahara shrimp was delicious and the bill was a lot less than we thought it would be! We would highly recommend Sahara and we would definitely dine here again - thank you!

No shouting and screaming or rushing as you commonly see in busy restaurants. Portion sizes have slightlt reduced since the beginning but prices remain the same. Highly recommended to muslim families in particular as its got a very warm atmosphere and feels very welcoming. All food is Halal HMC only. NO alcohol permitted under any circumstance on the premises. Lift available too. Its not a spacious lift or spacious restaurant but its top end for such small geniously designed place. Parking is street parking weekdays free after 5.30pm.

Urgent update from the hungry monsta: Do not be basic and order a steak, this place is not designed for steaks, what you wana have is the mini chops, they are quite delightful, best item on the menu by a country mile min riz is delicious, A bit limited in drink options even then I would have given this place 4 stars, What truly kills the experience and hinders the enjoyment of the food is the atmosphere, The local youts attend in packs and by jolly gosh do they make a ruckus Now according to Einsteins theory of general relativity if there is enough dense mass at one point, even light won't be able to escape its gravitational effect thus, black holes. Well I have encountered evidence first hand that will support this theory, These young ruffians are so dense they quite literally suck the intelligence out of the room, I'm sure with enough time they could demonstrate sub zero levels of IQ, #FFS
