What's cool about the spot - This place serves a variety of India foods & Lebanese cuisine. Little did I know I would be taking away with idli and chicken kofta from the same restaurant! Chicken kofta was delicious with excellent quality. Nice ambience with road view tables. The place is located in the heart of lewisham with a few mins from the bus stop and dlr/tube. We were coming home after our monthly grocery shopping when we just walked past it and happened to see ‘dosa served here’ sign. We didn’t go in with a lot of expectations but the food was absolutely amazing. We had paneer masala dosa and ghee roast dosa with a side of medu wada and this was the best South Indian food we have tasted yet in London, even better than some of the top names from Central London.

April 2022: BEST SOUTH INDIAN FOOD IN SOUTH LONDON They make crispy delicious dosas, soft and scrumptious uttapams and amazin Rasam. From Chutneys to Sambhar, everything was 😋😋. Their mango lassi was a delight too. Would definitely recommend. This is way better than Everest Curry King, FuAsian and Madras.

The problem with several south Indian restaurants I have visited in London is the interiors and ambience. Even when the food is good, most of them unfortunately are shabby, and dull. But not Sajee!! It is clean and tidy inside. It is well lit and the staff are cheerful. The food is authentic south Indian and reasonably priced. Definitely worth a visit if you like south Indian food 😋

I went with my family a couple of days ago after searching up numerous restaurants in the area. I was pleasantly surprised to see a restaurant make Indian food with another cuisine and not compromise on quality. The Lebanese food maintained it’s middle eastern taste and the salads were amazing too, for those who would rather sit out the carbs. The food is incredible value for money as it came to less than £50 for four adults. I highly recommend this gem to anyone who finds themselves in South East London and are in desperate need of flavour.

Amazing food!!! Was literally considering going somewhere else for middle eastern food but was craving some dosa and idly. Was such a coincidence to find this restaurant does both!! absolutely recommend this place the dosa was delicious and crispy and they had the softest idly i’ve ever had. Their lamb kofte was juicy and amazing flavours. Prices were such a steal as well couldn’t believe the total at the end. mocktails as well was very good and didn’t taste like just normal juice. 100% recommend this place for a good price and selection of two different types of cuisines. We were welcomed by friendly staff who offered us a complimentary soup. And it did not disappoint. A hearty yummy soup sold us to order more food that was very tasty. All in all a great experience, both with staff and food.

Delicious food, varied menu which is really accommodating to vegetarians. The portion sizes are incredible and the service is really quick. Perfect for big groups as the restaurant is a good size. The best part has to be the staff who are so kind and friendly, always going the extra mile to make sure customers are happy. We went here, a bit spur of the moment, for my birthday, and were treated to free bread and dips to start. Then everyone wanted something slightly different, vegan, veggie, mixed meat meals, etc, and they could not have been more accommodating! Everyone had a really fresh, delicious meal and the price was so reasonable. Me and my partner had the falafel wrap with chips, and the falafel was so rich and crispy, tasted very fresh. Everyone else had wraps or curries, and thoroughly enjoyed them! At the end they surprised us with free ice cream as my friend mentioned my birthday, which really added the cherry on top to an already lovely experience. Overall: Everyone had a great, varied meal that's really fresh and rich, at a great price with friendly and caring service!

Really fresh, authentic Sri lankan food you can really taste the lovely combination of spices. Portions are very generous and the staff a re very friendly, knowlegable about the food and happy to make recommendations. Food is spicy but doesnt blow your head off (Unless you request extra hot). 18/8/20 - We three middle aged SE Londoners from Lewisham are taking advantage of the Government subsidised Eat Out To Help Out scheme. We had been to his alcohol free restaurant before and liked it. We arrived at 21:03 to find a quiet, brightly lit restaurant with just two other couples dining so there was not much atmosphere unfortunately. The head waiter/owner showed us to a big empty table near the window, hopefully we could attract more people in. We were given a menu each and the food looked very reasonably priced (even before the discount, being much cheaper than Drummond Street eateries near Euston. The menu had all the usual South Indian favourites and soft drinks to match. I asked the waiter if they allowed alcohol to be brought in and he was definitely squeamish about the prospect so I advise anyone not to push it in respect for their culture and religion. The Lewisham Tavern, Sutton's Radio and other bars are close by! We ordered a selection of our favourites, including Dosai which are much better had in the restaurant then as a delivery where they are folded up in a bag only to go soggy. I asked if the hot plate was on and the owner said yes. It is a hot job for the cooks, we have been to South India in the heat and those hot plates are hard work! We had a Ghee Dosa (£5.25), Masala Dosa (£5.95) and a Seafood Kota Roti (£8.95) plus side dishes. With South Indian dishes you tend to get the same side sauces included so idly comes with a tray of four sauces, as does any dosai, so you might get sauced out! We were offered a jug of tap water which was nice and I ordered a Mango Lassi, my friend a can of Coconut Water. Our friend stuck to the water. Our starters started arriving by 21:20 and my friends found them delicious, the two Masala Vada were very fresh and crispy. The two Madu Vadu doughnuts were fine too. I desired from having my share so as not to spoil my appetite. I know how South Indian food can fill me quickly. The main food arrived in good time by 21:48 and was very nicely presented, proving to be hot and tasty too. South Indian spicy food tends to be very filling as it is a strange heat, not like curry. We tend to over order and take doggy bags home. This time though it was just right, albeit I over ate somewhat, my eyes always bigger than my stomach! It was all delicious. The two dosai were enormous, the crispy 'pancake' extending beyond the metal trays with the tasty fillings occupying the middles. I was almost grateful that they were not packed as it would have been too much to eat! The ubiquitous side dishes in the tray were there but they helped balance the meal. The side dishes were very tasty. The salad turned out to be shredded vegetables in an oil, so a bit limp, not tasty but no doubt that's how they do it for their vitamin fix! No big deal. It may just be a nod to us westerners, I cannot remember such salads in a South India. As we ate various delivery drivers popped by to collect orders. A couple of takeaway clients also popped by. One of the two couples left. Towards the end of our meal there was a lot of noisy clanking coming from the open kitchen, quite disruptive of the peace. The other couple left and we were on our own by 22:25. We ordered the bill which came printed as £23.27 for three of us! Obviously no alcohol had swelled the price. We left sated and sober by 22:30 and walked the mile home.

Working nights on the railway we often have to eat whatever we can find wherever we are, so tonight working in the Lewisham area our expectations were not high, however tonight though we found an absolute gem in Sajee, the food was delicious, the staff are friendly and attentive and the service was beyond exceptional and as for value for money it’s hard to beat. I’m already looking forward to my next shift as I know that we’ll be heading straight back to Sajee. Thank you guys from a pair of very happy railway workers.

Recently visited the restaurant. It has been relaunched under the same name as a Lebanese restaurant. Was offered a sample of their menu. Really enjoyed the food. I ordered the Ghee Masala Dosa, It came along with Coconut Chutni Sambhar and Red Chutni. It was like one of the best meals I have had in London especially Lewisham. I was very surprised and honestly very delighted. The potato filling and the red Chutni was actually spot on additionally the service and the overall atmosphere was quite calm and the staff was extremely kind. I would definitely visit very often now, would strongly recommend.

The best place to have biryani of any kind...I amended to chicken 65 and every time I order it tastes delicious and lovely flavours. The aroma of lamb biryani itself fills the stomach. I have ordered from here frequently and never regretted. Once, I was two freshly fried chana vada for free as a compliment. The chef has some magic in his hands and manager has been very friendly every time we place the order. The takeaway is ready in 10 mins. Love this place and will keep ordering biryani only from here...!!

I have had take away from this restaurant a few times and it is best Sri Lankan food within a radius of 5 miles. If you want authentic (which means spicy and usually much spicier than Indian food) Sri Lankan food, then this is the restaurant for you. As a Sri Lankan myself I love their food. We regularly order idlis from here and they are quite nice. However, I would just request them to reduce the spice level in their sambar daal/red chutney. While Lewisham does have a good handful of great South Indian & Sri Lankan restaurants, Sajee's has something individual to offer among the current crop. A relaxed and friendly dine-in experience, with an extra touch of class in the food - Idli, Kothu Roti and Dosa are all what you would call "hotel quality" if in Chennai, rather than rough-around-the-edges street food. Waiters are happy to make recommendations based on your tastes and spice preference. If you want to make a night of it and try some quality Tamil Nadu style food, this is the go-to place in the whole of South London.

This place has authentic Sri lankan and south Indian food. Flavours are similar to Sri Lankan street foods and you do get large portions, so can share, also some food are made fresh which is great. Prices aren't too bad, can have a good meal for a £10 or less (depending on your choice obviously). You can either eat there or take away. Restaurant is clean and staff are friendly.

I’m in love with this place. I ordered a cheese naan. I requested sugar-free options and immediately given tasters of a Pumpkin Cassava option and a Spinach option. These are both so refreshing that I died. I really wondered why the Spinach was listed under ‘curry’. It’s nothing like a curry. It went really well with the Cheese naan though, I must say. You should definitely try them together. 10/10.💯💋 ♥️

The Sri Lankan food tastes authentic and reminds me of home and for the price, it's really good. The only thing I can't stand is how the tables are unclean with bits of spilt food at the 'cleanest' table we sat at. It was off-putting to sit and eat throughout the whole meal. Great spot for a meal. Ignore the 1 star reviews, all seem to be placed at the same time so seem to be fakes. I often come in here for a bit of lunch and always get a good meal. Owner very happy to guide you around the menu options if you're not sure what to go for.

Really fancied a masala dosa so thought I would check out Sajee, having seen it when passing by. Smart, with a really nice atmosphere, friendly staff and above all a delicious masala dosa. I also went for a mutton roll, such was similarly fantastic. Prices were reasonable too. Will be back, a lot I suspect 😃

Great food and service. Clearly a disgruntled employee has organised bad reviews (all from exactly one month ago). The hygiene rating is 4/5 as determined by Lewisham Council. I eat there regularly and hope the restaurant doesn't suffer because of these fake reviews.

Food, we ordered Vegetarian dishes, starter as Chilli Paneer, I had Koothu parotta, and my friend had Paper masala dosa. All were good, maybe koothu parotta would ve been better if there as ketchup or some small accompanying side dish or sauce. Still, the dishes were tasty and spice was as we specified.
