Reviews of Salaam Namaste
Y. L.
Nice and filling food. Authentic and spicy. The waiter Abdul was kind and sweet. The environment was chill and relaxing with romantic lighting.

We had a delicious dinner with my family at Salaam Namaaste. Staff were very attentive and the food here is great! I loved the Pav Bhaji, Street food and Aloo papri chaat. We will definitely be back and tell our friend.
D. S.
Absolutely loved this place! Lots of vegan and gluten-free options.
We had the tofu starter, followed by 4 vegetable side dishes and rice. All were perfect. Took our leftovers home and ate them for lunch the next day - still delicious!

If you weren't aware of the pedigree and prowess of the man behind the business, you might be forgiven for thinking on first impressions that Salaam Namaste, despite being located in an affluent part of London with plenty of history (including a Charles Dickons Museum a couple of roads down), was just another curry house setup to take advantage of said neighbourhood.
In the end, however, we're certain that you'd walk out of here thinking otherwise. There were a number of dishes we had that certainly confirmed the reputation of the place and the talent behind the menu, Sabbir Karim.
Only a chef with intimate knowledge of South Asian spices could create a biryani as good as the lamb Dumpukht we had, or succeed in achieving such balance in the strong spices that made up the intensely rich Dhaba Gosht.
Although not everything had us doing cartwheels, the service here was, on the whole, efficient and attentive; and with the menu being changed every 6 months, Salaam Namaste has enough going for it to warrant a visit.
Menu Recommendation
Drink - Sweet Lassi
Starter - Jungle Style Char Grill Lamb Kebab
Main - Dhaba Gosht (with Nan)
Dessert - Gajar Ka Halwa

Before booking, check for the opentable deal that offers 25% off.
Ordered the kebab and duck starters - the kebab one is definitely a winner, the duck starter had the savoury flavour overpowered by the sweetness.
The mains were duck and lamb, I hoped for either to be a bit more spicy.
The atmosphere was relaxed and dimly lit, maybe a bit too dimly lit (the bulb above our table didn't come on).
Overall: satisfactory, some wine is required to get the most out of the meal. 3.5*

I ordered Laal maas(mutton) and tandoori roti, serving size was good, taste of mutton was good and spicy. Quick service, followed covid-19 protocol. They were courteous and gave good suggestions to order. I would try them again.

It's not bad. For the prices, it's pretty good.
But having eaten a lot of food from the Indian subcontinent, this has nothing special to make it stand out.
Go and enjoy it, but don't expect to be surprised.
J. Z.
Really lovely food here. The gentleman serving us was very friendly and helpful. Drinks and food were served quickly even though he was out front on his own. We hadn't booked , so arrived about 7pm, and when we left it was nearly full . Would recommend 👌

Nice Indian restaurant near Russel square. Portions are small but well balanced, delicately spiced dishes. Okra with mango stood out for me😋

If you're up for indian food, do come here! Salaam Namaste has a wide variety of traditional dishes from various regions and culinary traditions within India, as well as reinterpretations of flavours and combinations adapted to european palates.
All your marvelous foodie experience at this place will be crowned by a fantastic service, with the chef-de-salle and the waiters having a huge attention to detail and warm smiles for each and every customer.
Overall, we recommend Salaam Namaste for a casual gastronomic trip, and we look forward to dine there soon.

Located in a quite side road, the restaurant is very clean with good decor. However the place is a little overpriced and food wasn’t anything special. Customer service on the other hand was very good. Staff are very friendly.

We visited it in a group of 7. They did everything to made us to feel conforfable and despite a bit slow service we enjoyed our indian experience in London. The food was really tasty. Some of the dishes were a bit hot having only a "chilli" in the menu. But what is it an indian expedience without a bit of hot??

Prior to our holiday I researched about great Indian restaurants close by where we were going to be staying in London, and Salaam Namaste came first on our list.
We went for dinner with my family and cousin which I have not seen in years. It was a Monday we went and they were supposed to be open at 5:30pm but we came half an hour early. They let us stay inside and chit chatted, served us drinks rather than sending us away and come back. The place is not too big but very clean and cozy. The lighting is perfect and there is good enough space for each one of us and our food and condiments on our table.
We had Chicken Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh, Dumpukht Lamb Biryani and Garlic Naan Bread. I just wished they had it served in big portions. Albeit, their food is very delicious! The dishes were neatly and appetizingly presented. On top of that, we were very pleased with their wonderful, very friendly and fast service. We didn't have to wait long to get our food. The manager was also very nice and accommodating. He came to our table and made sure we got everything we needed. The manager said that the meat they use is grass fed and free range from a ranch owned by Prince Charles. I think that's why the meat tasted good, apart from their chef's undoubtedly good skills of course and the spices they added to it.
We will definitely be coming back when we visit again. I recommend this restaurant. They deserve full star.

Salaam Namaste is a sleek, modern and contemporary little restaurant in Bloomsbury, specialising in modern Indian cuisine. The interior is filled with shades of beige and brown, with deep purples too. There are leather chairs and deep wooden tables, giving it a sophisticated, slightly fancy feel.
The team is all passionate and very friendly, ready to give recommendations and checking in your meal.
The drinks menu has a good selection of wine (not too extensive as to confuse) and cocktails, as well as a handful of beers and soft drinks. The cocktail part of the menu features ten cocktails, each inspired by Indian cuisine and refreshing flavours. There are also four mocktails for anyone avoiding alcohol.
The Summer in Paris (£7.95), was a very sweet, tasty number. Ciroc, Cointreau elderflower and lychee juice give this cocktail the taste of sweets, quite literally. It’s delicious alongside the dishes. The Kiwi and Cucumber Martini (£8.95) was a refreshing choice for alongside dinner, with absolut vodka, cucumber, fresh kiwi, elderflower and lime.
The mocktails were really juicy and tasty too! A great soft drink option instead of the usual diet coke, or sticking to water. The slushy kiwi (£5.95) with fresh kiwi and pineapple juice was great – the kiwi added juicy bursts to the pineapple juice. The vanilla berry (£5.95) was bursting with juicy flavours too, from the mix of fresh raspberry, blackberry, vanilla sugar, cranberry juice and apple juice. The vanilla really shines through.
The food at Salaam Namaste focuses on traditional flavours, adding a contemporary twist. On the menu you will find a few classics, and plenty of curries, biryanis and grill dishes. There really is plenty to choose from, and we found the decision tough!
Popadoms are obviously a must at an Indian. The ones at Salaam Namaste were slightly salty, and came with the most amazing tomato chilli dip, made with garlic and onions. It was incredible – apparently a popular one and can only be found here. . You can’t really go wrong with mango chutney and mint dip too, but it really is all about that chilli one.
The Bombay Onion Bhaji (£4.95), a crisp fried onion cake with potatoes and mix vegetables, tamarind chutney, was delicious. It was soft in the middle, with a fab crispy coating. Fantastic with the tamarind chutney.
We also tried some Tandoori lamb (part of the Tandoori Rattan @ £7.95) to start, which was a little tough, yet superbly spicy and aromatic.
On to the mains, and the Tandoori Rubiyani Duck (£14.95) was a real winner. Gressingham duck breast marinated in yoghurt, cheese and carefully selected spices, charred in tandoor, it was served with roasted Tiger prawn, tangy potatoes and cucumber salad. The duck was so tender and deep in flavour, the king prawn was juicy, and the vegetables absolutely delicious.
We have never even see a date & ginger naan (£2.95) before and so this was a must try. It was slightly sweet and sticky, and was great for dipping in, and mopping up the spicy tomato-based sauce from the duck.
The Tandoori Ajwain Salmon (£14.95) was great – rhe salmon was marinated with yoghurt crushed ginger, garlic, mint, coriander & fresh stone ground spices and served with a plum tomato relish. The salmon was tender too, flaking easily. The coriander flavour shone through, and it was super tasty.
There are also desserts, many pretty creative numbers, each tempting us, from the pistachio and mango kulfi to the mango and coconut brulee cheesecake. Pretty full, we tried the trio of ice cream, with cinnamon, tiramisu and coconut flavours. The ice creams tasted premium in quality and very creamy. It was a refreshing way to end the meal.
Salaam Namaste is a beautiful, contemporary sleek Indian spot, with a modern menu – plenty of classics and even more twists. The service is very on the ball – we felt extremely looked after, as did each of the tables around us look so too. We had a great evening at this Indian restaurant in Bloomsbury.

Very good experience! Staff was lovely and very welcoming with a warm setting place. The food was amazing, specially the Kashmiri Lamb Shank!
L. D.
We the whole experience extremely chilled, Sid, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the dishes and nothing was too much trouble. Plus the prices were very reasonable for the high quality of food presented.
T. K.
The food is incredible, the service was amazing and so is the wine!! We were served by Sid who was an amazing host, immaculate service and such a great personality and charming guy. Would recommend anyone to this place honestly. Ask for “Sid” and you are guaranteed an amazing experience.
J. D.
Came here for dinner last night. Good food (the mains were really nice), but the poppadums we ordered never arrived. We reminded the waiter four times every time they came to our table but nothing ever came. A bit annoying and we felt a bit ignored by the staff.
J. S.
Yeah, the food was fine, didn't blow me away to be honest and probably not worth the £35 per head we ended up dropping (with no more than a beer or two to drink).
Had a mixed grill & a dal makhani, neither of which were anything special. Friend's biryani was dry. Other friend had been before, which is why we went, but said it wasn't as good as before.
L. B.
The paneer starter was in a gloopy sauce that has been bought from a cash and carry and the fish curry was very over salted. The rest of the food was lovely.
The staff forgot 3 items we had ordered, a couple were rather rude and intentionally ignored us however a couple of staff were nice.
The tables outside were not social distanced which also made it difficult to get in any out.
S. G.
Amazing experience at Salam namaste. Went there with family for dinner and the food was amazing service was awesome specially the guy Rohan.
G. D. P.
Salaam Namaste is an outstanding, award winning restaurant offering dishes from all over India. The quality of the dishes and cooking are wonderful and the service is friendly and efficient. The manager Rohan is knowledgable and so enthusiastic about his restaurant and the food he serves. The Malabar Scollops were a perfectly light and gently spiced starter, while Persian Chicken mixed fruit and spice to perfection.
I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. I recommend the experience to all without reservation.
R. A.
Super delicious Indian food.. We went couple of times there and our experience was very good. Their paneer curry is out of the world and everyone must try their biryani. I never had such great biryani in London. Most recommend place if you seriously want to eat tasty indian delicacies.
J. D.
Food is good, great service, good location, a little cramped inside at a table of 6. Including a bottle of wine and two beers the bill came to £176. Not cheap!
Y. L.
The service here is really good. We came quite a lot of times for Thali, it's only served at lunch. The portion is a bit small, but very delicious.
J. B.
Service on the night i was there was haphazard, often hurried and obtrusive. Expressive for what you get but that is eating out in London for you!
R. A.
A fantastic curry house with outstanding food. I came with a group of friends as our first post-lockdown curry together, and the team here made us feel right at home. Everything we ordered was great so I don't have a stand-out dish to recommend, it's all good.
D.
The food was good, but the service was dreadful. One waiter for the entire place. I get that times are tough at the moment, but this is a relatively expensive curry-house, and if you pay £14 for a main, you expect the rice to come at a vaguely similar time. It also took him 20 mins after we arrived to even bring menus. Very frustrating experience. We won’t be going back.
H. P.
Absolutely amazing food with perfect texture and delicate flavouring. Personally very impressed with the Lemongrass king prawn curry. I can honestly say that the king prawns themselves were the best king prawns I've ever had.
A. K.
Came to visit the restaurant with my friends on Thursday . It was our first proper meal after lockdown AND TURNED OUT TO BE THE BEST EVER !!!
I was having the baby lamb chops ,it did taste fantastic and I couldn’t stop myself not to eat a bit of my partner’s venison kebab !!! Mains were also very tasty. We were having biryanis and they could even accommodate my friend’s dietary requirements , who is vegan ! Trust me, it’s not easy to find a good restaurant with her .
All in all, thank you very much ! Beautiful food, beautiful restaurant , beautiful vibe !
See you tomorrow ?!
n. j.
Great food and ambience…The most recommended Indian restaurant if you are in london…the biryani and the shahi paneer are to die for!! Dont forget to order some papadon with red chutney while waiting as you would want to visit again just for that😀
F. L.
Food was fine but they forgot about starter. Poppadoms are kept in plastic bucket by toilets - not appetising, and they were a bit OTT with peddling the wine. Are they trying to get rid of last years stock??
M.
I make sure to book into this superb Indian restaurant every time I visit London. Menu is varied and unique, and every dish I have sampled over the years has been top quality. Staff are friendly and efficient. Perhaps a little expensive to my provincial eyes but still not bad for central London. I honestly cannot understand some of the negative reviews about this place, unless they're from jealous competitors ?
R. (. S.
The service was good, one waiter was a bit of a patter merchant and they got two of our party in a taxi, so worth 5 stars. The food was labelled as being mild, I had Lamb Dhamsak which was labelled as mild, but too spicy for my taste. The portions are generous if you order the right thing, and they did bring sour cream to tone it done, so a good wee place.
K. A.
First time here this week whilst staying in London and can highly recommend 😍🤩
Yummy food
Lots of choice
Friendly & attentive staff
Modern restaurant
Delicious mango drink too 😂😊
Will definitely return if ever in the area
I. R.
Cute small Indian restaurant. Service was very friendly and attentive. Food was served quickly. We booked via OpenTable and we’re seating at a table in a corner even if there were many other bigger tables left. This a little bit uncomfortable. However, we liked the restaurant and would recommend to others.
J. B.
The food and service was very good. Slightly irritated by a 12.5% service charge being added to the bill when it was a couple eating quietly together. A noisy table of eight, and there was one, who we moved to accommodate, might not have tipped, but we would have.
s. h.
Ordered a takeaway this evening and it was absolutely delicious, chicken tikka was the best I have had and the lime prawns were fab! A bit pricier than my usual place but so much nicer in flavour, glad I ordered and will be again :-)
J. R.
Fantastic food. Variety of Lamb dishes which were difficult to choose between. Had the Lamb Shank curry. It was beautiful. These guys are also doing the Eat Out to Help Out in September. Thanks Rohan 😎
K. P.
Went alone after 10 PM for dinner. Really good and kind service. The quality of the food was amazing. Had prawns as a starter, they were triple the size you usually get and tasteful at the same time. The Duck as a main and garlic bread was amazing too. Will definetely come again :-)
S. D. (. L. o. S.
This was my fifth visit and I have always been happy previously. Food really tasty tonight, but the portions were small and pricey! 3 prawns in the patia for £13.95, which left me hungry and i don't ever recall leaving a curry house like this before in my life. The breads were also small, so mixed review really. Flavours great, but the value poor. If this had been my first visit I would have scored it less, but I cannot see us returning again.
S. K.
Great service great food great price
D. E.
Place was very nice inside, nice atmosphere, was busy when we went. The service was a little slow. Apps took about 15-20min, then another 40min or more for the mains (almost walked out). However, most of the food was absolutely amazing. Onion bhaji and lamb biryani was the best I've ever had. My girlfriend bought the pistachio chicken korma, which literally tasted like nothing. Would definitely go back, but maybe when it isn't packed. HUGE menu of options, wish I could have tried them all.
R. F.
Went on a Tuesday night, as a group of 8 people. We were welcomed, seated and served quickly and after ordering, the food was served in no time at all. All the waiters were friendly and polite and were happy to explain any of the dishes to us and suggest appropriate sides or breads to go with our choices. All my colleagues agreed the food was excellent and a little different to the typical Indian curry fare you find in London. Many of the dishes had an unusual but interesting twist to them. The Kori Gassi was delicious with the addition of pomegranate. I'm sure we'll be visiting again.
S. S.
I went based on reviews, I wasn't disappointed, the food was out of this world, worth a try
J. S.
Great Curry, nice staff, modern and pleasant design.
S. M.
Wow, great authentic Indian food, great service, I just cant fault it !!!!
V. S.
Ordered takeaway. Was lovely and on time!
I have ordered twice since but the mild curries don't seem to be that mild or taste like I am used to. eg chicken tikka masala and chicken korma.
O. G.
Lovely place, really nice buzz and well fitted out inside. Both our waiter and the manager were very attentive and keen to please. Good food, had a really tasty goat curry that was really different and my girlfriend had a great jalfrezi which was no problem with her celiac diet.
R. O.
Imaginative dishes - quail as a starter for example - which were well presented and tasty. Everything was going swimmingly until I saw the bill: £35 for two courses and a beer, which alone cost £6.50. So even though the restaurant has a nice atmosphere and the staff were excellent it only gets 3 stars from me.
S.
Great food and fantastic service. A little bemused by the wide range menu we opted to take on a suggestion and received the most flavour filled curry meal I'd had in a long time, and for a fair price too. Would recommend it any day.
S. J. M.
I brought a group for a celebration dinner. The food was superb (taste, presentation, variety), the service wonderful, the place small and comfortably busy. From the delicious starters to the complex and distinctive mains and accompaniments, right to the dessert, It was the best Indian food I have had ever, anywhere. I highly recommend it.
C. v. G.
This is a very nice place near Russel Square. Very attentive and friendly staff, yet not overly engaging.
The food was very nice, but even the "mild" choices are somewhat hot. My wife loved it, and it was okay for me (happy wife, happy life 😎).
You have several choices of rice, it is not included in the a la carte choices.
B. C.
I went for my first meal out since lockdown began.
Couldn't have been happier with the experience at Salaam Namaste.
Great service and even better food.
Would recommend this place all day long.
Rohan was a particularly attentive and relaxed dude.
O. N.
I live in this area and have been to virtually all Indian restaurants in central London, this is by far the best. Each dish is special and delicious and the service is wonderful. I've been coming back every couple of weeks for around 2 years now, it never fails
S. G.
Food just ok. Ambience good. But somehow felt the staff needed to be more polite. Or just maybe little accommodative. Waiting staff didn't have an idea about what dishes they have to offer. Yes, the food was very bland compared to what it should be, but also the prep was subpar. Hope they can work on it. Cocktails were great though.
N. A.
I had a very good meal there this evening. Nothing was too much trouble for them. It’s not white tablecloths and silver service. It’s modern Indian Restaurant dining and in a very accessible location. Brilliant, I’ll be back.
j. w.
Classy, modern Indian restaurant with exciting tastes and nicely-presented dishes, but slightly sloppy execution. Overall: almost 5 stars; still one of the best Indian restaurants I've eaten at.
Details: I arrived fairly late (10:45pm on a day with an 11:30pm closing), and they hesitated a bit about seating me, but then did so. On the day I was there, they had a special Gujarat food festival menu, so I tried a couple of items from it. The food ...
* Papadum - great, with some interesting chutneys.
* Portobello mushroom starter - fantastic: great presentation, sublime taste.
* Lamb curry with soft dumplings (main): also fantastic, until I realized that the soft dumplings had been omitted. ("The kitchen was very busy" - no it wasn't.) Still great, though.
* A special rice dish. The waiter who cleared the table told me that he would have steered me away from this - it was more of a main dish, and included ghee (clarified butter); that wasn't clear to me when I ordered - I had asked about quantity of food, but not about fit. I marked it up as "interesting", but not something I finished.
Service: friendly. The waiters seemed to roam all over, rather than be attached to tables, but maybe that was because it was late.
Ambience: nice.
T. R.
excellent, modern indian cuisine. very friendly service, providing good and reasonable advice. they even prevented me to order too much, which would be "too filling". the temptation to do so was very big because of the many interesting and innovative choices. I will have to come back!
it's a small but elegant place. I got a place easily but visited late during the week. during busy hours, reservations are recommended as it is a popular place.
A. A.
The food here is excellent and the portions are decent as well. The staff were very kind and the atmosphere is just lovely. Definitely recommend
A. A.
Food was ok, but if you're looking for more authentic indian cuisine then you will be disappointed. Food lacked flavour. Was disappointed with the attitude of the waiter, especially when we asked for a preference with how we would like the food, his response was very dismissive and it was clear he was not comfortable to communicate our request to the chef. All waiters seemed much more attentive to the larger gathering of people, leaving us ignored.
S. G.
My experience was superb. Admittedly it was not a crowded night but service was superb. Even if was not I am willing to overlook service for food quality. In this case the food was exceptional. Truly. Don’t hesitate if you like top flight Indian food.
P. W.
Amazing food! A little gem worth visiting.
D. T.
Food was absolutely delicious. Got the small serving of tandoori prawns. Cost £7.95. Was severely disappointed when two prawns came out. Other than that, can't complain.
E. O.
The food was good, nice and tasty. Small portions. Extra side orders are expensive 5 £ for a bit of rice and 7,50 £ for some vegetables. Desert is bad. Mango coconut brulee cheesecake doesn't taste like mango, coconut, brulee or cheesecake. Vanilla ice-cream is not really ice-cream.
Service is good.
M. C. F.
The best Indian restaurant I have ever been to. The food was absolutely amazing. It was refined and elegant yet spicy and creative. Even my father that hates Indian food adored it. Only downside is the staff that was very professional but nothing close to friendly.
G. G.
Very friendly staff, lovely food, really quite tasty. Just please cool the beers more!
R. S.
Good tasty Indian food - the black dal is quite amazing. We went there 3 times for dinner in 3 days and all the 3 experiences were good although the chai was a little disappointing. . Overall good value for money!
J. R.
Staff has been very friendly and informative up to now. We just had the papadum (?) entree. It’s like chips with sauce. Tasty but the sauces a bit sweet. 4/5 good quality though.
Decor is quite nice, modern Indian style. Temperature a bit cool in the resto but not a problem (to help offset the hotness perhaps haha).
As main courses we had Dhaba Ghosht (northern Indian goat curry with potatoes ) and lamb Xacuti (lamb cooked with fresh coconut peanut coriander and cumin) with Nan.
They were delicious, there was nothing left when we got through them. Just spicy enough to be interesting without removing from the taste. We also had a pint of Cobra beer and Indian Cabarnet Sauvignon that we found was well suited to the dishes, that was unexpected!
Ok this could have been 5 stars but the price required ( less nine more meat in one dish, longer slower cooking of the other) would have been 2x-3x the price.
A solid 4 here. And that is a real honest 4.
Let’s add and the 1/2 star. The staff is really fantastic. I think you would agree we don’t see that enough today
Go for it!!!
T. F.
We have been twice during our stay, we had great time and the food was very good.
We are familiar with indie food and different restaurants across the globe:) and this one was delicious.
We will recommend it for sure.
D. P.
I love this Indian, it has the probably the best looking Indian food, I usually go for the mixed grill, the one I got here was very colourful, clean, it is a very modern style Indian, if you are in the area and want to impress someone, I'd go here for food.
They also do great cocktails as my friend found out.
They also take Tastecard.
H. H.
Great food, chilled ambiance and lovely lovely staff. Went to salam namaste 8 years ago on my first date, as a uni student, with my now husband. So for nostalgic purposes we went back on our 8th anniversary two days ago. The staff were so attentive and caring towards us. Everyone made an effort to wish us happy anniversary. And to top off a great meal they gave us free dessert as a congrats! Such a lovely place little place with grear authentic indian food and at reasonable prices. The husband and I have decided to go back for every anniversary.
C. S.
Really a nice twist to old time favourites. Spiced scallops with mango salsa really hit the spot. Mains were goat curry cooked with potatoes. Really good, very different and tasty. A little pricey though.
C. S.
Really lovely food. Order here regularly for take away, My only negative is the plastic take out boxes and bags. Can you please find a more environmental alternative. Can't buy from you anymore if you don't change your ways.
Got to be done.
D. T. R. K.
The food was quite good and infact the Daal was one of the best we can have away from home. The waitress was very polite and well behaved. Recommended if you look for good indian food in Central London.
M. W.
Not just your average curry. I thoroughly enjoyed this Indian. It's dishes were above your averages beer followers by a curry night. A bit on the pricy side but definitely better than the rest. If you visit I would recommend visiting the neighbouring pub - The Lamb before your curry.
O. G.
Lovely restaurant. Hosted a group of ten of us, the food was perfect, the staff were friendly and welcoming and there were plenty of vegetarian and vegan options for members of our group . Would highly recommend.
K. I.
Made to feel very welcome from the second we walked in. Staff were lovely and very attentive. The food was incredible, possibly one of the best curries I've ever had. We'll definitely be back!!
S. J.
Good food and nice service. Very friendly staff. Not many options of non-spicy dishes, but if you like spicy food I definitely reccomend this place.
L. G.
one of the best indian/curry restaurants in north london - tucked away in little backstreets, but always very busy. Has a lively, exciting feel and great for downing a few cold beers too
G. R.
Want an Indian that serves very tasty food ? Want an Indian whose menu has goat and rabbit along with many other dishes you won't have seen ? Want an Indian that has a lovely Indian cabernet sauvignon on the wine list ? Want an Indian with excellent service and staff... We'll here it is !
D. S.
Excellent food, carefully prepared and presented. Attentive, courteous staff. Only downside is that it is relatively expensive and then adds a service charge, which always seems offensive and greedy...
D. W.
Best curry I have had in a while. Ordered on the phone for collection while at GOSH around the corner and it was ready in 15 minutes. Wonderfully spicy and great depth of flavour, friendly staff too.
T. L.
Really good, tasty curry! Had chicken dhansak with accompanying rice and naan with side of onion bhajis - all excellent and above quality you normally find in London. Highly recommended.
C. W.
Nice restaurant with nothing special in terms of decor but big in food quality. The menus is big and every meal I've tried already was perfect. However, as I mentioned there's lots of room for improvement of the interior design.
C. G.
This address is nestled in Bloomsbury. Decoration is contemporary, welcoming, nicely bathed in natural light and service is very attentionate, which I particularly appreciate. I have to warn you though. The menu is filled with pages and pages of temptation. The descriptions will make your mouth water. Fantastic for vegetarians too. Go for the pistachio korma, a must have!
S.
Absolutely delicious food and lovely service, will definitely go back soon!
Covid Update: AMAZING butter chicken, and quick, reliable delivery service
A. A.
Hard to fault. So pleased I found this gem of a restaurant.
Amuse buoche was beautiful then goat and potato stew with black lentils and rice.
Gravy so good I had to get a naan to mop it up.
Reasonable price and even the draught Cobra was nice and cold, if expensive.
No hesitation in recommending this excellent place.

Love this place, have been many many times. Always great food and great service. Different options on the menu which changes every so often to keep it fresh!
S. S.
I read other reviews and can't fault it. Food and ambience was excellent and as some else mentioned, try the pistachio chicken korma!
Just as good the second time, they were doing a games week, venison curry amazing.
T. S.
End of term dinner with fabulous friends. Great value Prosecco. Very tasty sweet lassi, and enormous portions! Great value, fabulous service. Will definitely visit again
R. W.
This Indian which has a contemporary twist to its food is fabulous and tasty here. They change their menu so your always trying something new. Worth a visit.
J. G.
Beautiful contemporary Indian dining!
Love this restaurant, food is excellent and service always been top drawer.
Highly recommended.
S. T.
Fresh ingredients, distinctive flavourful curries. Lovely service. Super super impressed. Born & bred in London I've eaten a lot of curries and this is up there with the best
M.
Fantastic food. I gave 4 not 5 stars because it might have been a bit too expensive when I was there on Christmas Day. A La Carte menu on normal days has acceptable prices. My favourite dish was sea food moilee
J. B.
Went with a group of work clients (around 15 people) and we had the 3 course menu which was 25 pp and tapas style so everyone could try a bit of everything. The food was delicous and the clients loved it.
H. R.
One of the best Indian meals I've had anywhere in the world. More fun than Mayfair/Michelin style places butt several notches up from your local decent Indian.
M. N.
While visiting London, we stayed close to this restaurant and took out food. Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Jalfrize were really nice. The restaurant was full on Thursday evening. A bit pricey though.
P. K.
Excellent food.. Ordered Rajasthan lamb curry and authentic Indian style.. friendly staffs.. Thanks for fulfilling my Son's wish of Puri, even though it was not in menu..
E. C.
Fantastic food. Absolutely delicious. Some of the service leaves a bit to be desired but overall, usually a great experience. Owners are delightful
T. E.
Small, friendly restaurant serving flavoursome food. Menu includes Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free options. Worth a detour...
S. K.
Was there on Christmas day. It was full but the stuff was still very polite and nice although we were 1h to late for our reservation. The food was more then enough and very delicious.
M. W. (.
Fantastic food, friendly service, beautiful interior with actual cloth napkins. A proper restaurant. Black bean dhal was amazing!! Bhajis, bhalpoori, and cottage cheese veggie dish - all sumptuous and food for the body and soul.
T. B.
The food was good. There was 9 of us, and they were happy to push some tables together. The waiter rembered everyone's order.
R. L.
I have been twice and the food and staff are wonderful. Real Indian food. The service is quite slow, but it's totally worthy.
K. H.
Really nice food. Good guidance and quick serving. The place is very sparse and the noise level high.
N. B.
Lovely food, friendly service. Excellent menu selection. I will return!
T. S.
Amazing Indian food, every single dish. Nice ambience though some of the basic logistic details with tables not stable and draught caught by aircondition out of tune with the quality of the food.
K. G.
Loved the hospitality and portion sizes. The food was great too. Would have love to give 4.5 stars but couldn't
A. C. L.
Super friendly and helpful staff. I'm quite sensitive to hot food but the waiter was quick to bring some yogurt to balance.
N. R.
it flavouring and the layout is great and it clinches the tasted-buds i don't like curry the first one i had teased the same as the last one but the Salaam Namaste changed it for me
L. W.
Dining alone as a business traveller is never much fun, but when you find somewhere with fab service and excellent food it makes it just that little bit better! Highly recommended.
I. T.
Generally excellent food, though I've been served a dahl here that was so salty it was inedible. Friendly, helpful service - they took the dahl off the bill when we complained.
P. T. (.
Food was good but service is bad... They lost part of our order twice and came back to ask again, then some things were missing...
P. M.
Fantastic meal with great service. The waiter made some excellent suggestions. I’d go back in a heartbeat.
T. C.
Best memories with my buddies while we were in London working for ITV across the street. The lunch buffets is the best I ever had and no restaurant till date can beat this 👍
L. H.
Found this place by chance on an evening walk from our hotel, and we loved every bite! Would definitely recommend for food, friendliness, and atmosphere.
P. T.
Great for budget friendly, i take out frid rice just in £3.95 (it has frid rice, papad and curry).
Thanks to Salaam Namaste.

Tuesday night, packed crowd. No wonder--delicious and thoughtful food.
Naturally I ate too much but well worth it. A gem.
S. K.
The sign above entrance says it all 'modern indian' - this place takes standard indian food and puts a modern artistic touch to it. Excellent service
L. K.
Never tried before and had a delicious paneer curry. Fab service with contemporary, comfortable and clean surroundings.

(Translated) Very good Indian restaurant. The welcome is distinguished and the restaurant room warm. Despite the fact that the tables are close to each other, the room is not noisy. The waiter advised us to take only 2 dishes for 4, accompanied by a portion of rice and one of vegetables. He was right because the dishes are plentiful. If it were not as far (we live in Paris), we would go back there often.

(Translated) Nice Indian restaurant with a cozy atmosphere, and very good food. Had an excellent Chicken Tikka Massala, a good but not overwhelming mango and cucumber salad and Indian bread with chutneys. The dishes were presented in a very appealing way, very tasty and the service by the Indian waiters was top notch. Would come back anytime and eat me across the lush menu. ;)
