Scoff & Banter had lovely food options and a decent selection of wine. Staff are well-informed of the various pairings. I had Fish and Chips with mushy peas while my partner had Goat's cheese Wellington. Both of them were well cooked in sensible portions.
A meal for 2 with wine would roughly cost about 60 to 80 GBP but is worth the price. Do pay a visit after payday when you feel like pampering yourself a little.

Food was good, service can be rather slow especially during dinner hours. Still worth dining there though. Crab cakes were really good with chilli aioli.

Fabulous setting. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food menu compact but this is a plus. Prices fair.
Food was tasty and served in a reasonable time. I'd go back.

Really wonderful experience. The staff were so attentive and friendly and the food was great. Would definitely recommend. There's also a kid's menu.

Sunday evening and everyone is bored with the week now. Only one other customer as you might expect here in a hotel restaurant. The bored include one of the staff. The food is simple and fine and actually not terrible value for the area. Also, even the wine is not too expensive though the choice is not inspired. But the room is generic; rather like the menu and the acoustic is hard. The whole thing is a bit like a City Bank canteen. Would I go back? If only because the whole scenario reminds me of when I worked in a similar place years ago.

Overpriced pub grub, but tolerable. Service is a bit chaotic and staff don't seem to know what's going on. In desperate need for someone to take charge.

Excellent service. The seabass is exquisite. Bathrooms - spotless clean. Overall very cosy.

Didn't book but got a table for two on Sunday night. Apparently the only table for two available, but interestingly half the restaurant remained un-used during our time there. I suspect it was more a way of keeping hotel resident space available rather than the tables actually being booked. Our server was great; polite and attentive. We both ordered fillet steak, medium rare, which was amazing. I ordered a side of the broccoli and kale, my husband ordered mash. Both sides were cool, rather than warm or hot. I brought it to the attention of our server and she immediately offered a replacement. We declined but added that feedback should go to the kitchen as hot or at least warm food is the responsibility of the kitchen. Nonetheless, a fresh portion did come out, at the right temperature this time. I did also get a complementary glass of wine so I cant fault their offers to make good - it was just more a shame it was needed at all. Price wise, a little top end for a hotel restaurant but it was amazing steak.
