Reviews of Shayona Restaurant

Gorgeous Indian food🧡 It’s so flavorful, tasty and each dish had a distinct taste. Brown Dal (lentils) creamy, a little kick, buttery and very healthy for you. This place has lots of vegetarian beautiful dishes, everything was very tasty, you won’t miss meat a bit. Absolutely a MUST. Staff is attentive & cordial , deco is nice, the vibe is peaceful, excellent quality food and prices are very moderate. #indianfood #vegetarianfood

If you want satvik food in London without onion and garlic, this is a great restaurant to dine.
Very tasty food, ordered curry with aubergines, naans, dosa crepes, feels like this place deserves its high rating for that.
Also pani-puri, bhel, samosa is perfect Indian taste.
Lots of choices, from starters to sweets, Roties , few veg. Curries
Dhal , rice and snacks.
The staff are friendly, welcoming, polite and courteous.
Good value for money.

Our meals were extremely delicious, I would recommend this place. The staff were also kind to suggest some meals, because it was our first time with my husband to be in this type of restaurant. Thank you for the lovely experience.
N. D.
Bright & clean restaurant serving a variety of tasty vegetarian food including a buffet with friendly staff & situated next to the Neasden hindu temple.
However, the ala carte menu though looking nice when the food is served tastes bland & tasteless
as it is lacking in spices especially being an Indian restaurant!
A. H.
Attended a family birthday party here, Lovely function room to hire in the back, service very polite & courteous but slow.
Food Everything overly spicy & hot.. not good for anybody who cannot tolerate spice.
However, given that it is No Onion & Garlic, I found it was all full of flavour and tasty!

New to the area, we arrived outside the restaurant and weren't sure whether or not it was open - the car park seemed a bit separated from the actual restaurant due to a marquee in the way, and the shop out front seemed closed. Nonetheless, we went in to see if the restaurant was in business, and were very pleasantly surprised to see a spotless, immaculately refurbished and bustling restaurant. The service from the start was excellent, food arrived quickly, and was a class apart from most of the other Indian restaurants in and around London. The portion sizes were also generous.
This restaurant does not do enough to sell itself! The food and dining experience in general are different class and if it was on a main high street, people would be raving about it. Definitely should be top of the list if you're looking for an Indian vegetarian restaurant in North-West London.

A great veggie place, delicious and great service. All vegging some vegan options. Come hungry - worth the stop when you're in the area
n. d.
It is "Pure Veg" Indian restaurant however the quality of food is not as authentic as used to be. The adjacent food market is great for Indian Food shop and ofcourse if you are at the Swami Narayan Temple you can always go in for a quick bite. The starters are generally good to eat.
N. S.
It is the best vegetarian restaurant in UK, all their dishes are less spicy and oily. The staff under the able leadership of Tej Singh is very much customer focussed and keep the dining area well prepared for every occasion. The weekend specials are a delight especially Bhinda Kadhi and Ringan Oro.
P. A.
i always love coming here. the service is top notch and every single dish is so well flavoured without any garlic or onion, which is the test of good cookery for me.. making something really tasty without any G or O is an art. my favourite dishes are made here.
K. S.
Excellent food and service... Loved it. Just too good and a must visit place if you are in the area.
R. D.
if you looking for pure vegetarian and hyginic food in London, your search ends here.
All freshly hot food made on premise, trust me you will not regret your visit.

Lovely restaurant on the side of the temple.
I Indian grocery shop and cafe next door.
Restaurant service was great. Food wonderful.
R. J.
Feel good place for couples or families or even small parties.Pleasant Atmos and food is tasty as well.
I have given 4 , reason being there no dinner buffets and would need more traditional or customised dishes. My suggestion is to add Raj bhog Thalis, so this generation can experience it here like back home.
Y. G.
The food prepared is in an unique saatvik style, meaning it is vegeterian and without garlic and onions. Service was helpful.
W. K.
Delicious food, reminded me of India! Must visit and visit again n again
t. r. c.
it's the best! lovely service.. and the dishes are so flavorful without the use of garlic and onion.. beautiful, clean layers of flavour.
A.
We ordered pani-puri, kebab platter, aloo papdi chat, and dosa. Everything, except dosa, tasted quite stale. The taste was overall okay, but it was too pricey for the quality of food that was provided. On the other hand, the interior of the place is good.
R. S.
Always lives up to expectations! Be it snacks or the main course. Friendly staff, quick service, nice atmosphere and ample parking! Cant flaw. The only thing I will complain about is the masala chai. They serve a tea bag version. It will be nice to have a proper Indian masala chai at an Indian restaurant!
H. S.
Had 15 items off the menu, and each dish was great except the chapattis, which were cooked in the morning and tasted like crackers by afternoon. Supermarket next door has good variety of Indian food.
P. S.
Brilliant food. Good staff. 4 stars because it's too expensive compared to many others in Brent and there's a 10% extra eating-in charge too.
R. M.
Nice decor and ambience. Service was excellent and food quality was good.
A. J.
The food is pure vegetarian and the shop is fully stocked. We didn't go to the restaurant but used the takeaway counter, where the food with the quick service was good.
T. K.
The food plates are huge! So it's easy to over order. Good food but spicy. Service was excellent!
I. J.
Basically the one option to eat if you are visiting BAPS Mandir nearby. A vegeterian indian gujarati couisine. Very tasty food, ordered curry with aubergines, naans, dosa crepes, feels like this place deserves its high rating for that. Hygiene level also was nice, clean bright interior. The only issue it is not a high cousine restaurant, it is attached to indian shop nearby, the entrance is from inside the shop with some fast food cafeteria, the toilet is also outside the restaurant and is public. So it ruins its class. At the same time it is quite pricey, costed 50 pounds for 2 adults and 1 toddler.
J. N. D.
Cant believe not been before. Lots of parking. Lots of seating inside. The food was really tasty and big portions. Certainly worth a visit
G. R.
Very nice Indian vegetarian food, amazing taste without onion and garlic.
H. K.
A 5 star dining experience! The restaurant has a great vegetarian selection of Indian dishes, great quality well cooked food with amazing taste! The service and management is extraordinary and the restaurant is also pushchair friendly. Further, the restaurant is covid friendly and has procedures and policies in place to ensure government guidelines are adhered to. Very highly recommend!
O. O.
Food is good especially if you want to try Indian vegetarian dishes
P. S.
Good Indian food (only Vegi 👍🏽), associated with the Temple just across the road. Staff r helpful, food was tasty, portions were good. Reasonably priced as well...we had been there before (we don't live in London) so we ended up rushed from Stonehenge to get here in time before it shut...it was worth the rush...
A. G.
Excellent restaurant next to Neasden Temple.
Highly recommend the Dosas and Chaats.
M. M.
I simply love this place. The food is amazing, the dosa is worth going for. Full vegetarian menu with plenty of choice. The portions are really big so order with caution. We ordered 3 starters and a dosa between 2 people and still took food away with us. The chilli paneer and punjabi samosa chaat is delicious.
C. A.
After a visit to the neighbouring Hindu temple, we popped into the Shayona supermarket. There's a wide range of Indian ingredients, fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as traditional sweets and pastries. As a convenience store, it wasn't too pricey and there's a cafe by the entrance selling hot Indian snacks, which were among the tastiest we'd ever eaten. We sat and ate on seats outside, rounding off a wonderful day.
M. M.
The service was excellent and the food good and i believe not changed for English people's palate. I loved the sag paneer. Overall a very good experience. To go in the restaurant we have to walk in past two areas, the first with toilets and there was a really bad smell there.
N. V.
This was super fun! Highly recommend to vegans .we really connected on a lot of similar interests. And the food was delicious! Definitely come on an empty stomach . Best Experience lot's of Fun..
B. V.
The food is consistently good. Very friendly staff too.
C. R.
Lovely restaurant, great food, friendly service and at a very reasonable price. Our favourite family restaurant!
R. P.
Pure vegetarian and clean restaurant. 100% guaranteed vegetarian food. All products are cooked without garlic and onion as believe in Swaminarayan ritual. But taste is too good. You didn’t miss onion and garlic in all Punjabi Subji.
N. S.
Won’t recommend it to anyone as the food is not worth the higher premium price tag for the dishes. There is much better Indian food catering restaurant in local area as well as in rest of the London. To sum up, the price I have paid in Central London and the quality of food available there is still less than what I ended up paying at Shayona Neasden restaurant and for poorer food quality.
H. K.
Really Enjoyed with Delicious Food and Good service Jay Swaminarayan 🙏
L. A.
Best indian food ever, full of flavours. Everything is so tasty, especially the samosas
S. P.
Best restaurant. Good for good service with smile. All vegetarian only.
p. a.
Awesome indian food and big variety of sweets.
P. K.
Ok food without onion and garlic. Variety of choices, from normal heavy meals, to light south indian dishes...have a selection of english options as well. Parking in available most times, if its not a big festival day. Great atmosphere. Buffet is also available. Negative prices really hight for the quality of food you get.
L. C.
Excellent food both of the times that we've visited. Friendly staff and cheap prices!
S. P.
Very nice food, all without onion garlic and meat
c. f.
Miss the buffet and not being able to eat until 4. Food good as usual.
M. T.
While visiting the best and biggest in Europe swaminarayan Temple in Neasden, pay a visit to best vegetarian restaurant right opposite the Temple....Best food and service...
S. B. S.
Decent Menu,
Excellent Service,
Lack of options, specially for Vegans
T. s.
Good saatvik Indian food (cooked without onion or garlic ). Hygiene is always maintained to good standard. Staff are polite. Only wish they add more variety to the menu.
N. M.
Very nice and fast service.. may be this is the 1st restaurant I have seen who provides sanitizer on every table..
Restricted Menu but best in the class..
D. P.
Great food but very slow on service
V. A.
We went there recently, and the Covid precautions that they had were very good. Between the tables, there were long sheets of plastic and the menu was shortened due to staff. The food came very quickly and it was good as there were more than 5 families. The staff were also very nice 😊. Would recommend this to everyone
J. P.
Nice to see you there. I have a no obligation to buy a food and drink
S. K.
Great satvic food. Good portion sizes.
v. s.
Nice vegetarian food ...hospitality is also amazing
S. G.
A lot of items on the menu weren't available, but what was available was delicious and the staff were friendly
T. P.
Very surprised by the high quality and delicious flavors. Will return.
N. P.
We were there for short time and everyone was super friendly and food was tasty
p. d.
Love this restaurant. Friendly service. Go the extra mile and lovely vegetarian food. Enjoyed a birthday with covid rules and had a superb time. They allowed us to bring our own vegan cake in. Thank you to all
P. S.
Good food as always nice and clean place to visit
A. R.
Food was okay. Defo had better here but the service was excellent as always. The Bindi kur kure is amazing and for dessert, go for the funky pie!
S. T.
My late husband and I have had many 'Gatherings with Family & Friends' for meals in the Main Restaurant, over the years, with wonderful service from the Staff. AND then, in more recent times, (without my husband, but still for 'Gatherings'), I have found the lovely Shayona atmosphere still very welcoming and food as tasty as ever.
A couple of weeks ago I went (with a friend), for the first time shortly after midday when, in addition to a Special Lunch Menu, there is a Buffet being offered. Yet again, I was not disappointed by the helpful attention by our Waitress or the
tasty food.
I need to draw attention to the very large shop on the premises, which has a vast stock of different Indian groceries and sweetmeats! The latter being extremely tempting!!
I look forward to attending my next 'Gathering and exciting Meal.
Almost forgot to mention the extension & outside areas for extra seating. When I visited most recently the latter was in the process of being completed.
Also,

Nice service and good tasty food.Free car park
H. K.
They lost one star to language fluency! Had to repeat myself all the time!
S. P.
Best Indian in London. Vegetarian only
A. G.
It's very delicious but a bit expensive. The menu is all vegetarian with lots of Jain options, but not much for vegans - everything seems to have ghee, cream or cheese. I recommend it for a nice treat, they have interesting recipes!
s. s.
Had an amasing Saatvic lunch today , loved the starters 😊👌
K. H.
Very good size portions, reasonable prices and excellent quality taste. Good ambience.
R. M.
Excellent Jain food, without onion and garlic
L. T.
We visited the neighbouring temple, and on the reccomendation of one of the property (bags etc.) clerks, we visited this restaurant and shop. We ate from the buffet; hearty, authentic, and flavoursome. The options were varied, and the price was excellent value for money, anywhere in the UK, London or otherwise. I would probably go out of my way to eat here again.
In regards of the shop, the range of goods was extensive, and again, excellent value for money. If I lived in London, I would likely regularly buy items from here.
H. P.
Tasty vegetarian food, which has a very classy look and tasty choice of food. The place is comparable to any notable Indian restaurant in other North London areas like Harrow, particularly in price, but is excellent for me due to the vegetarian offerings.
I doubt the typical meat eater could fully appreciate such a place, and some vegetarians may not justify it, but for my family and me it is perfect. From the very warm service attitude (albeit it USED to be slow/forgetful a few times out of the many, many times we have now been) to the variety and atmosphere. A remarkable level of consistency in food quality.
Celebrations and just the random visit - a great experience time after time.
S. R.
Good ambience.. Tasty food but pricy..
D. B.
Food tastes good and the portions weren't bad... but over-priced for that location. I could get better value in London central. Also not impressed with the lack of environmental responsibility of this place. Plastic straws - in my drink without me even requesting a straw. Plastic carrier bag for the food I took away with me. If the team here are so unconscious about their impact on our shared living planet that they haven't even made changes as small as that, I shudder to think of what else they might be doing.
D. V.
Venue is very good. Unlike most restaurants It has it's own parking so you don't have to worry about moving your cars half the way your meals, etc. Restaurant being religiously affiliated serves only vegetarian food, which is like a paradise for vegetarians and this also means there is a vast choice of vegan dishes as well. We were there for a party/event so in a separate hall, which was very spacious and nicely layed. Food was very tasty and service was excellent. Starts were kind of flowing and waiters were so pleasantly serving, felt like we were their personal guests. One of the curries on menu was Paneer item, I think Kadahi Paneer or similar. That made this rating loose one star. It was in red gravy, which meant you'd expect it to be savoury and spicy, but contrary to that it was sweet. Probably the chef didn't know how to mild savoury taste of tomato puree by any other means than Sugar. I will certainly book it for some events or visit it again, but will certainly avoid any paneer dish in red gravy.
J. T.
Not bad, tables and floors were a little dirty. Appreciate it was a busy Saturday but it's something that should be noted. Overal food was good. If car park is full you have to use overflow opposite the temple.
Y. K.
It's was amazing experience.
Good quality of food ever I eaten.
Very clean .
Good service provide.
M. G. B.
We were a group of five, the place it is really nice and the staff is is so friendly. We ask for recommendations and they were so nice explaining everything. The samosas were awesome. As a main I share a curry with 2 friends and is difficult say which one it is better. For sure am gonna come back.
J. T.
Really tasty Indian vegetarian food. Service is fast and efficient. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Comfortable seating arrangements. Ample of parking space available just outside. Clean and hygienic place.
A. Q.
Great Indian cuisine experience!!
K. R.
I have been going to this restaurant for few years. Very clean and nice pleasant atmosphere. I feel like food taste gone bit low compared to the passed. But one of my favourite and highly recommended veg restaurants.
J. G.
Absolutely delicious vegetarian food - quite good enough to satisfy the most dogged carnivore. The Khasta Kachori Chaat is worth making the trip for, washed down with mango lassi. You may have to wait 10-15 minutes for a table at weekends. Highly recommended.
j. b.
A 'dated' modern setting is not lacking warmth and ambience but it's the cuisine here that's telling.
An expertly conjured medley of subtle flavours and textures made from mostly fresh ingredients results in a 'wholesomely' satisfying experience.
Courteous, prompt and knowledgeable service with portions tending to the pleasingly adequate rather that the heartily heaped.
The prices still be reasonable though no longer unbelievable so.
Deservedly recommended.
J. C.
A fantastic resteraunt with excellent food and great service. The food was excellent and we'll be sure to come back.
r. b.
The best Gujrati food in London!
K. P.
Good management and Sattwic Vegetarian food range. A bit expensive for the portion sizes and nearly all gravy based foods had the same tomato based sauce. A hair did end up in one of the dishes, but would like to hope it was a very rare moment
C. D.
Fantastic vegetarian food. They have a very interesting menu that offers the possibility of choosing many small plates to try everything. Some things might be spicy, so just ask if you're not keen on it. The service was very good, and they offer a special menu with all allergens. One of our friends was celiac and she could eat a lot of things.
Also, there is a shop outside, so you can get any food you like and bring it home afterwards!
R. B.
Tasty and faithful to traditional recipes, the lunch is very satisfying. Everything in the buffet is fresh and perfectly prepared. We each returned several times to fully sample the dishes, and we left full and happy. Highly recommended!
N. K.
This is an Indian grocery store + Indian vegetarian restaurant + Indian sweet shop all combined into one building.
I haven't tried the restaurant but from what I could see it looks nice and clean.
I've tried the grocery story, which is of good size, with a good choice of Indian grocery and of the Indian grocery items that are rare to find in UK. The shop is well laid out, and very cleanly maintained.
They do take credit/debit cards on purchases over £5.
The sweet shop is nice too and the staff member that assisted was very friendly.
K. B.
Pure vegetarian restaurant
Excellent service and food.
We had food from the all you can eat Buffet. It runs Monday to Friday between 11:am to 4:00pm. Many different variety of indian dishes, dahls, rices, savouries, salads were available. We loved it.
V. F.
Great taste and perfectly cooked dishes, superb table service. Little expensive than average. This is simply best 100% vegetarian restaurant and even serve Jain food which is I think unique anywhere in London restaurant settings.
M. W.
Lovely food, great staff, good value. We went on a weekday and chose the Thali Buffet. Very good selection of food, all vegetarian of couse which was part of the appeal. Never had such a wide choice at an buffet and will certainly come back soon. All food was hot, fresh and kept stocked - nothing ran out. Restaurant was fairly quiet so no jostling at the buffet table. Staff were smart and restaurant was spotlessly clean. Huge, free car park so we could park right outside the door.
Two envirnmental observations: 1. Only give out straws if asked for and they be paper not plastic. 2. Suggestion - you probably get through lots of tin foil, perhaps you could put a foil bank in the car park, which would raise money for the community (like a lot of Sainsbury's stores do).
K. R.
Delicious vegetarian food, very friendly and quick service. The food was fresh, with lots of variety and dishes you don't find in other places. Have a wander around the Swaminarayan Hindu Temple across the road and eat until your heart is content! An amazing experience in North West London!
C. L.
A meal after the visit to the temple, Shayona is an Indian vegetarian Cuisine restaurant, they also provide Jain dishes. Very Clean and comfortable. Recommend for friends, families in a big or small group.
We've ordered a rose lassi, spicy cassava, a sweet corn methi, some rice and butter nan. very tasty. Friendly staffs, good value, and it is a Michelin Stared restaurant! Defiantly visit again.
K. P.
A beautiful restaurant in a beautiful setting. A lot of people will know of the Neasden temple, but if you haven’t been to this restaurant as well you really are missing out on a tricky. It’s pure vegetarian so for any one who is looking to try anything new or are strict vegetarians this a absolute MUST. There is a wide range of options available from the traditional Indian dishes to fusion mixes. They have recently re-opened after a refurb and expansion...thankfully! Have been there several times for different occasions and they can cater for larger groups. The staff are friendly and quick with their service.
D. T.
I have been here several times and think it is one of the best vegetarian restaurants in London. It is immaculate with great decor. Staff are friendly and service is fast. Food is high quality, fresh and very delicious, especially as all of the dishes are free from onion and garlic. My favourite dishes are the chilli mushroom and chilli paneer starters, and there is a great dessert range too. The venue is large enough for groups and I had a fantastic time at a friend's celebration here. Make sure you pre-book if eating here at the weekend as it is very popular. Just outside the restaurant is their store where I bought Indian sweets, which went down really well with colleagues at work. The restaurant is also opposite a hidden gem, the breathtaking Neasden Temple, which I would also highly recommend visiting.
N. J.
Great Indian vegetarian food and prompt service !! Gujarati dishes on weekend were yummy and must have, so is the Vaghareli Chaas. However, a bit on the pricey end and difficult to reach if you are using just public transport like us.
K. P.
Lovely atmosphere with good service and very clean. The buffet food is like daily food Gujarati people eat at home, so okay from if you have not had in a long time. Also, with all buffet food, the food is not fresh hot.
J. P.
Very good restaurant specially if you are looking for no onion - no garlic food
L. W.
Always a lovely meal. I go here for lunch with work colleagues. Always have the buffet which has a large selection. My favourite is the potato curry and the paneer curry. As well as bean salad, rice, Dahl hurry, the best samosas you should ever taste are just a few things you can have. However I do find it cheeky they add a service charge to the bill when you go up and get your own food. I would still go back!
J. R.
The pure vegetarian restaurant has a variety of food that is tasty and freshly cooked. It does get busy with many locals coming as well as tourists so book ahead to avoid disappointment.
They also have a sweet mart that has many wonderful hand made treats.
If you need to do your food shop you can do so next door at their small supermarket.
P. B.
Clean and well prepared pure vegetarian food
म. ज. (. J.
I tried this restaurant 4-5 times. I always choose something different that I never tried, I never get disappointed for food and service. Food is really very very tasty and delicious. Good thing they serve in traditional style and you don't need to wait for your turn. staff is really very friendly and they give you enough attention.
Adding some pics of food for a look.
C. R.
Very clean restaurant, extremely reasonably priced considering that it's the only restaurant within a mile of the temple. Service was ok but food very tasty. A huge fan of their pilau. Would highly recommend this vegetarian eatery!
R. S.
Great hidden (not really) gem of a restaurant. Went for lunch and only paid £10.50 for an all you can eat buffet which had really good curries, samosas and chutneys/aachars. I never realised this place was Michelin recommended. Would 100% recommend and will probably visit again to try the "a la carte" menu. They have a nice sweet shop extension to the restaurant aswell
R. V.
This restaurant is rated rightly as one of the Top 5 Indian Restaurants in London. The new interior decorations are very attractive. The warm welcoming, delicious food, excellent service, the overall dining experience is second to none. We used to come all the way from Birmingham for the dinner here. Now we come from 60 miles away. Shayona Grocery Store next door is like icing on the cake. Shopping and dining done in one trip. We love the personal attention service that one of the supervisor Mr Tej Singh provides us.
Jai Shree Swaminarayan
T. P.
Slow service, although decently friendly. The food was good; not the best vegetarian Indian food I've had, but certainly tasty. Perhaps a little more expensive than I'd expect, especially for sundries such as rice.
S. S.
One of the best vegetarian restaurants in London , I will rather say in UK. Though recently the prices were increased but the quality is kept above par.
Bit difficult to find parking.
H. M.
Excellent indian groceries and restaurant. Meat-free, Onion-free, Garlic-Free. Jai Swaminarayan.
K. S.
Swamiyaran food....no onion no garlic....
M.
It's one of the most unique restaurants with cuisine from Indian Subcontinent. I had some incredibly interesting dishes there. Aloo papdi chaat is so amazing that I ordered another portion. So is Bhindi Kur Kure which is a type of crisps made with okra. Everything is very cheap and service is fast. I've been there twice and I want to try some other dishes. Location is a bit out of the way for me though.
N. P.
Quick service and yummy food. Pleasant sitting arrangement.
D. S.
There is a special feeling in this restaurant that one is aware of instantly. I loved being here, and the food was delicious - I had the buffet, which was eaten off a large silver platter/plate, with little silver cups for raita and condiments. I gather that in India food is often eaten off large banana leaves, which is very ecological, and the large platters felt a glamorous form of that! The staff are absolutely lovely, and I felt I was being included in a large family gathering, with the best possible home cooking! There's a pretty fountain display in the center of the room which is very calming, and after an uplifting and inspiring morning at the beautiful Swaminarayan Mandir, having lunch here was a perfect conclusion. There's a great grocery store next door which I loved exploring, and I was given very valuable advice about spices by one of the proprietors. It was an unforgettable day with a warm and gentle sense of community.
M. K.
The best vegan buffet in the town. Must experience in conjunction with visiting the mother temple across the street. On top of that the shop is us very rich on fresh and dried produce going as far as exotic sweetest mangos and aloe vera leaves.
J. M.
Got it delicious food and nice staff
C. M.
Ambience and food quality, service and taste is nice. It's becoming our family restaurant as we go at least once a month. I would recommend...and if visit timings permit than worth visiting the adjoining temple...very creative and cultural.
P. K.
Very tasty authentic Indian food. Neat and clean restaurant.
P. S.
Good option if looking for Satvik (vegetarian, no onion and garlic) or Jain food. Some items were a little salty. You should plan a visit as it the parking is also used by the Temple and if there is an event happening it might be difficult to get space close by.
B. S.
I think the restaurant is clean food could do with being a bit hotter but it still tasted good and not to oily .The only thing that needs to change and that is the waiters all need professional training
On how to serve food . If customer has ordered dessert after the main meal table was not wiped down.
Say I would still go again
J. P.
A lovely restaurant on the grounds of the Hindu temple in Neasden, serving pure vegetarian food. I went for the buffet at a whopping £12.85, food was fresh and tasty, they do have an A La Carte menu.
R. P.
It's a great place for vegetarian food. A good selection of Indian dishes. The restaurant is clean and set close to the Swaminarayan Mandir, so a great place to discover. The food was a little pricey, but definitely worth it.
P. V.
Serves the best vegetarian food in town. It is a real delight to visit this place. They have both north and south indian menu options. Highly recommend.
M. M.
A great range of good on offer from the menu. I was glad the buffet was closed when we visited so we got to try some different dishes. Very tasty. Try the Dahl curry!!!! Just delicious 😋
M. Z. C. (.
Have never experienced so much taste in my life. The food is beautifully prepared, full of flavour with all the spices. Have never been to India yet this is how I would expect it to taste.

Idli chilli is far better dish than you can find anywhere else. Nice ambience. Good service. Chilli naan, sizzlers, methi Chaman and soya mince are the favourite stuff here. Avoid panipuri please. And ice and lemon water can be served too. I would.love to go more often if it had been just a bit less pricey.
d. m.
Best ever masala Khichdi and Lilva Kadhi.
G. M.
Vegetarian authentic Gujarati food is served at this restaurant next to the Shri Swaminarayan Temple in Neasdon, north London. There is not much to say about the decor and service, both average. The food is basic, but good quality. Something to feed families who visit the temple to pray, nothing fancy to go on a night out! Yet, it is fulfilling and the flavours are very authentic. It is also very cheap compared to central London Indian restaurants.
A. M. L.
We loved the place, second time here. Menu is massive, difficult to choose, so I guess that's why we didn't enjoy first time. Ask not spicy, as it is normally very spicy anyway (even asking not spicy).
Do a visit to the temple first for a full experience
G. P.
Good place to buy indian food items
C. L.
This is restaurant attached to temple at Neasden. Temple well worth a visit get there by eleven for prayer meeting
U. P.
Very nice food. Its a must visit restaurant for sure. Staff is very polite a very perfect service is provided. Would definitely recommend as everytime I visit this restaurant its always the great food and experience.
M. S.
Great customer service and range of products
K. P.
Great tasting food and good value for money
M. T.
One of the best vegetarian restaurants in London. You can count on quality and service. Lots of items on their menu. Truly a wonderful experience.
P. G.
Excellent vegetarian food and good service. Weekdays buffet lunch is good value for money if you haven't had breakfast and don't intend to have dinner!!
A. M.
Groceries shop, restaurant and take away. What else?
Food in the restaurant is just unique. Typical vegetarian indian food. Affordable.
I personally recommend to book in advance as it's a busy place.
B. R.
Good place for Sattvik food
K. G.
Great food and excellent service!!
N. N.
Visited with family & friends. Food looked impressive and very tasty! Enjoyed the meal very much especially butter naan and saag paneer however they can do better with more dessert options.
P. T.
Nice place lots of vegetarian food there and very nice, samosas, bhajia, bhel many other things too, plus you can do takeaway too lots of items are prepacked my two cousins lives there in Neasden and Willesden we went there on their recommended we had great time and great food value for money lovely
L. M.
The starters had a good selection. The main meals were not so exciting. Not cheap considering it was vegetarian. Worth going after visiting the temple.
K. B.
Purely vegetarian dishes and no alcohol. Reasonable prices but the most important thing was the food and service was great
O. P.
Really nice place with fast, friendly service and good, reasonably priced food. Highly recommended! It's also next to a beautiful Hindu temple so that helps as well.
M. 1.
Great food on the few previous occasions I've been here BUT it's been closed since March, and will be closed for another 2 months... so don't go to this place before August 2017! So sad, was ready to devour a lot of food here. They could do with updating their hours to avoid people travelling over for no reason.
S. M.
Wonderfully authentic and delicious Indian food. Menu is inspired by both North and south Indian cuisine.
A perfect pit-stop while visiting the BAPS Shri swaminarayan temple.
J. G.
Liked it. Went with family and was pleasently surprised at the lovely atmosphere, decor and quality of the food. The buffet is very good and good value for money. Parking outside the restaurant is decent as well.
T. C.
Shayona Restaurant is one of the best Vegetarian Restaurant in London. They have introduced some new dishes since opening up. It provides with excellent ambience where food can really be enjoyed. Shayona does not serve any alcoholic drinks but offers a variety of soft drinks and mocktails. Their Mango lassi and passion fruit drinks are ever so refreshing and compliments the food.
It serves authentic Gujarati , Punjabi and South Indian dishes. What I enjoyed most was the crispy bhajias (crispy potato slices deep fried , coated with a mildly spiced gram batter) and their masala dosa, which is effectively a paper thin crispy crepe usually served with mildly spiced bombay potatoes and refreshing coconut chutney.
Lots of car parking. They have car park attendants who would always be there to help you with parking.
Visiting the restaurant allows one with an opportunity to enjoy, explore and experience the beautiful Neasden Swaminarayan Temple which is just opposite the restaurant. White bulgarian limestone clad exterior with the intricately carved italian marble interior. Simply breathtaking !
Price per meal per person can average to £ 12- £ 15, which is pretty good value in London.
N.
Great food and ambience. Fast service. Friendly staff. Don't miss delicious Indian deserts.
They provide wide range of sweets as well.
D. R.
Great food. The service is good. Particularly like the fact that everything in vegetarian, onion and garlic free
A. V.
Best pure vegetarian Indian restaurant in London by a country mile..Great food and friendly service with a smile. Relaxed and chilled atmosphere, nice decor .
Highly recommended.
S. P.
I am sad to say this is a horrible place than it was a year ago. We visited again beacsue last time it was great. The food is still okay for ahungry soul and place is clean enough, but the manager is VERY rude and impolite. She deserves no customers becasue when we asked for high table she snubbed saying our kid is too old and charged for water that we didnt order (later we learnt that she wanted to charge ADULT price for a 4 year old so made a story that our kid looks too big). We made no fuss to pay ADULT fare for 4 year old becasue we didnt want to argue but the attitude of this lady is not professional. The Buffet we took was floating with oil and most of the items were empty eventhough it was not yet 1.30PM. We decided never to visit this place.
S. P.
Worth a visit. Vegetarian variety is fantastic. The sweet mart outside also has a great selection for people with a sweet tooth like me.
G. H.
Their food is the best out of home experience you get in the LONDON area!! Shayona is the best place in town if you want to have an authentic Indian Lunch/Dinner.
S. G.
Vegeterian restaurant and they don’t use onion and garlic in their kitchen, so doesn’t have real North indian taste. This is more of Jain satvik food.
K.
Rememeber coming here in Feb......The food here was really nice and tasty and was served very well, food selection was big and atmosphere was so welcoming and very pleasant.
L. J.
Lovely food..in beautifully decor.
Pathik was a great host
M. S.
Clean and spacious place. Nice food and very friendly staff. One gets only vegetarian stuff here.
S. K.
Nice, quality Indian vegetarian food. I took punjabi dishes and they were classy. Starters were good too.
S. V.
Very good vegetarian food free from onion and garlic. Service was very good. Place was clean, spic and span.
J. P.
Good Variety of Vegetarian food, Taste great even tho all dishes are made without onion and garlic!
R.
I'm not a big fan of indian food but this seemed the only place to go and have a meal after visiting the temple.
I have to say that the food was very nice and the waiting staff friendly!
J. P.
It has wonderful food. Very clean and highly appreciable service standard. Worth to visit by every Indian food lover. Delicious food....
P. P.
Really nice food and service was good. Always amazed at how tasty everything is given they don't use onion and garlic!
R. R.
Delicious food! With a wide variety of options.
N. W.
Food was only okay, nothing special. Service was friendly and fast.
It was the prices that drop the rating for me. Far too expensive for what it is e.g. ~£4.45 for plain rice is way too much.
M. P.
We called about 19:30 last night without a reservation, no problem was the response, we got a table quickly, the food was exceptional, the service was quick, courteous and without fuss. Would I eat here again, absolutely!
A. G.
Very good nice clean tasting vegetarian Indian food.
S. P.

R. K.
Pleasant. Left in peace after being served. Good food, fair prices. Would go again if I lived nearer.
P. N.
Found nylon khaman... So happy!! Had samosas as well... Great chutney👍you can get lots of indian sweets and snacks like peda gulab jamun undhiyo.. mostly gujrati food
S. B.
The restaurant was closed for renovations..but the takeaway counter was open. Tasty but very oily curries..snacks were not that good.. samosas were poor, dhokla was too dry..
G. P.
Nice food, but as a vegetarian with no onion and garlic. Very pricey
A.

Went there today and they had Mother's Day buffet going on. We really liked the food and the atmosphere. The staff were very friendly as well.
S. P.
It is an alladins cave for me. Has a large variety of indian vegetables, big bags of chappati flour and rice,,, a variety of spices, , sweet and savoury foods and snacks. And a shop that sells india sweets yumm.
V.
This restaurant is attached to the temple, so very peaceful and friendly. I rate it 4. I feel the food choices could be healthier.
L. V.
Seems to have gone downhill 😟
Disappointed. Used to have much better flavourful dishes before. Now same sauce/gravy used for multiple dishes (starters)
C. P.
Good vegetarian food, well prepared and presented. Not a budget friendly place.
