After we had finished quaffing our Oysters on Saturday afternoon we had a hankering for something hot with a bit of a kick…
Enter Shuk’s hot pita sandwiches!!
We had caught a smell of Shuk’s food as we walked into the market and only just managed to drag ourselves off for some Oysters… so this was an easy stop for our second course!!
The combination of the tender meat, with the pickled cabbage and coriander was sublime - we are talking legit street food heaven here!!
It might not be the prettiest to look at, but it deffo had us weak at the knees, a truly superb Saturday afternoon lunch! 🤩
Our fave things: Just genuinely good fellas knocking up top, top notch food… was lovely to just watch Borough Market as we sat and spilled this all over ourselves ☺️
📍🚇| Just a 5 minute walk from London Bridge tube station

Had a Shuk Sabich (Egg & Eggplant with veggies and pickles in a tangy, mildly spicy sauce in a pita). Was delightful.£8.50. RECOMMEND

A really good Israeli/Middle East food. Their Sabich is really good, especially the Pita. Fresh, soft and high quality. The stuff are friendly and welcoming, giving a good service with a big smile.
Located in the middle of the Borough Market, it's great to grab as take away and have a lunch on the side of the river.
Enjoy :)

The Shuk sabich was incredible, the best vegetarian pita I've ever had. Filling was tasty and pita bread was soft and fresh. Will definitely be returning for another one

🥙Save for later! 🙏🏻 This was my last food visit before everything was closed down and even if I know you can’t visit in near future, save this for later because it was an absolute heaven. Situated in Borough Market SHUK is a Tel Aviv Food Market. We tried: 🔹Beef brisket, mayo, cheese and pickled onion pita
🔹Spiced lamb meatballs, coriander and pickled cabbage pita 🔹Mix of three different salads The pitas were so soft and fluffy I can compare them to bao texture 😍 Both of them - heavenly delicious and so well seasoned. For the salads, I’m not a huge fan of salads 🥗because I think they can’t be that special BUT these from Shuk? 🤪 I could have these three times a day and live happily ever after 😝Honestly the sweet potato salad with chilli yoghurt was sooo good 🤤 Also loved the mix of broccoli🥦, croutons and Israeli ‘cous cous’. I’m not exaggerating when I say I could have this every week. Thanks for having us, everyone was so friendly and the food is just exceptional! 😌

Went to grab a pita At Shuk for Saturday lunch.
Reasonable price (£8.50) for a pita full of flavours ! Really enjoyed it, it’s most, tasty and with delicious layers of aroma. Pita is fluffy and soak perfectly the sauce. Aubergines are perfectly cooking, melting as they should be. Great sandwich!
And the staff is really nice and welcome !
Will come back to try the 2 other versions : lamb meat ball and fish tajine.
I would definitely recommend !

Shuk has the best beef brisket pita I’ve ever had.
Their lamb Meatballs and salads are incredible and I don’t eat salads often however Shuk have really blown me away. Go to this place if you enjoy good food. They serve the best

Best meal I have had in London. Everything is freshly made each morning, including the pita bread.

Super tasty! They are really packed with a lot of lovely flavours!

I have been to Shuk; a little while ago and came across their evening dining concept Erev recently. At first I was not that sold on the idea given that there were no vegetarian options in the dishes section. However, I could not be happier that I decided to try it out. The restaurant is doing a residency at the Maria Market Hall cafe in Borough Market and the atmosphere is so authentic - very reminiscent of restaurants in Jerusalem. I ordered all the vegetarian dishes on the menu and it blew me away - my absolute favorite has to be the Aubergine hummus but this was closely followed by Smoky aubergine, tomato, labne, mint & toasted pumpkin seeds. Every dish had unique tastes and flavours accompanied by Pillowy soft pita bread. It was the closest I came to anyplace being able to recreate the authenticity of the Israeli flavours outside of Israel. I would highly recommend trying it out.

Got the shuk sabich without egg, which was incredible! Loved especially the fresh herbs, soft pita, and aubergine. So good!

Fantastic "Erev" dinner! Our favourite was the aubergine and egg hummus with the softest pita breads. Will definitely be back!

My heart sank for a second on reading the menu and seeing that a single pita chip was £2.50 but I couldn't have been more wrong. The spicy salmon pita chip was almost absurdly overloaded and the brisket "pita chip" turned out to be two fantastic croquettes that would probably have been twice the price anywhere else in London. Everything I ate was incredible, with great balance of flavours. The pita was closer in texture to a bao than to the things that I used to call pitas that I buy from the supermarket. Service was also outstandingly welcoming and highly efficient. I can't recommend this enough. n.b. This was technically above erev, shuk's pop up.

Delicious, I tried the brisket sandwich (in a pita) and it was stunning delicious. In spite of, it was a bit pricey it was worthy.

Brisket was delicious! Pita bread was soft and tasty. Salad was gorgeous!!

Very pricey, but expected at Borough Market. I ate sabih and my partner ate the lamb meatballs pita. The food was clearly fresh, pitas very fluffy, but we didn't like the flavor. My sabih was extremely spicy and salty, and it was drowning in heavy and oily tahini sauce. The texture was more paste-like and it was hard to taste and see the different ingredients. The aubergine, tomato and egg were all cut to very small pieces and almost mashed. The amba and turmeric were overpowering. It felt more like egg salad with tahini and turmeric. My partner's meatballs were tender and I liked them more than the sabih. Overall, I would not recommend due to price and extreme use of salt and spices. Also, there is no traditional Israeli food (e.g. humus, falafel, shawarma). The menu--except for sabih--is not typical street food in Israel. I was also surprised that they sell date-pistachio babka and call it a traditional flavor. I spent most of my life in Israel and have never came across such a combination; the common flavors of yeast cakes are chocolate and cinnamon.

Visited on the 31/12/21 and ended my year with one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten, Shuk Sabich.

Home delivery kits are great! I have only tried the beef brisket pita and chocolate cookie babka. They were both delicious and simple to make with all the fresh ingredients included.
T. S.
Ordered the Brisket pita and the Sabich pita, both were quite good and reasonably priced. I was still a bit hungry after the Sabich pita, so note to others that ordering something else with it might be a good idea.
Will certainly be back here later and would recommend to others.

I didn't intend on eating here tonight but stopped to get a bite and a beer. Ordered a lamb hummus and carpaccio and it was truly beautiful mark I'm guess the owner and the kitchen team were all lovely happy and had such passion for their great plates of food. The comoraderey of the kitchen team and the respect of the cuisine is truly beautiful. An absolute gem and something borough market should.be truely proud of. What a ledgend.

Love how comforting but light these pita's are for lunch! Have tried them all including the beef brisket special! The softest pita I've ever had and each one made with love. From the team on the stall, to the food and the buzzing atmosphere of Borough Market, I couldn't recommend this spot more!

We got the Valentines Kit with Fish Tagine and Lamb Meatball Pitas and a Chocolate and Hazelnut Babka. Everything was incredibly delicious and easy to prepare - no margin to fail. Fish tagine was my favourite with a spectacular Amba Tahini that I'd put everywhere now. The Babka is extremely rich and indulgent; a fine slice (if you can control yourself) is definitely enough. Perfect for this cold weather. Can't wait to try it live at Borough Market!

Walking through Borough market on a Friday night and surprisingly found a number of market stalls open for dinner, something new. There was a great atmosphere and not many seats but we were welcomed and squeezed in to a seat at the bar. Owner Mark gave us all the recommendations over the counter, quick service and some of the best hummus creations served with steamed pitas to be had. True London gem!

This place is genuinely exceptional - I'd give it 6 stars if I could. Every single dish has amazing depth and complexity of flavour. A real Borough Market gem!
J. P.
Everything here is quite salty, or perhaps you could say that the food is seasoned with a rather heavy hand. Might work for some people but personally, it was a bit too much.
W. H.
Incredible food! Delicious flavours and textures, beautiful ingredients cooked with love, the pitas are perfect to eat on the go. The lamb pita is one of the best things I've eaten for a very long time...

The brisket pita was simply amazing!!

The most delicious food you can find around Borough Market and beyond. You can tell Shuk really care about their wonderfully tasty, fresh ingredients. Their food is always beautifully cooked with amazing flavours and presentation. They are all really friendly and clearly care about their customers too, offering an exceptional service full of smiles every time I have been. I would definitely recommend visiting their magical little hot spot and absorbing the exciting and delightful atmosphere in the midst of the market.

Gorgeous Israeli inspired food. Super soft steamed pitas stuffed with homey flavours, the fish tagine and sabich were delicious!!
The salad box was insane as well! Such good flavours it was unbelievable 😍😍

Very filling and lots of flavour. Friendly staff and fast service thank you!

I loved this place. Excellent slow cooked lamb neck, amazing hummus and kind, friendly staff. Deserves to do well.

I had the special: Brisket pita with melted cheese, and pickles. I also had the salad box with 3 salads which I shared. The food was great but it is expensive - to be expected at Borough market.
M. D.
Very nice food. 2nd time ordering. Minor issue with delivery which they sorted very quickly and with very good customer service. Thanks.
I. K.
Chicken broth and lamb meatballs wrap are fantastic
M. M.
The fish tagine was perfection. Tahini, dill, coriandered perfection.
Only downside: everything was a bit pricey for the casual “market food” label (£3 for still water, £9-9.50 for a pita tagine).

I had the shuk sabich for the first time over 2 months ago and I still think about it.

Bought Babka as a gift at short notice online. Charlie went above and beyond to help. Not an expectation, but a refreshingly friendly and helpful response. Thanks!

Really tasty food in the fluffiest of pittas (they have a special secret recipe). Good value and would definitely recommend.

The fish tagine was super tasty as was the iced coffee that followed it 👍
