Reviews of Silka Borough Market

Delicious Indian dishes with affordable prices, friendly staff (especially Juber) and a cosy underground venue. For a meal for 2 with 2 large glasses of wine we paid 60£ but we ordered way too much and had to take away half. However, It is not an issue in this restaurant as they provide boxes and a bag, so don't be afraid to really explore their menu and if you order too much just take it away 😊. Either way, the food was exceptional. We ordered popadums, samosa papdi chat as a starter, bread basket and 2 curries: chicken nawabi kurma and lamb sagwala. The former being more on a sweet verge and the latter on spicy. Both were great but my favourite was kurma! Don't be shy to also ask for advice from the waitresses if you don't know what to choose. They are happy to help. While paying we were also given a mint chocolate to sweeten the meal. We spent such a lovely evening/ date night at silka borough. We were also very well treated by the staff. We will definitely be coming back.
If you are looking for exceptional Indian food, want to be treated well and have a nice evening/lunch then definitely visit this place :)

Starters are worth trying. I like the seekh kabab and tandoori prawns, we ordered. The Lucknowi biryani made my day. I am a fan of Rogan Josh but here the tomatoes dominated the actual flavour (can be taken care of). Meat was cooked to the perfection. Overall it was good and we enjoyed it.

Lovely dinner, reasonably priced, a taste of southern India so traditional 'Indian' dishes are not apparent on the menu. But what we had was delicious. Not an obvious place to find, just a big glass door, but right opposite London Bridge Station, then immediately down stairs to a basement where the restaurant is. No natural light and I can imagine it being a tad hot if lots more people in than there were when we were there and it being warmer outside. But perhaps there is good air con? Beer is Cobra. Not sure if it was the numerical ability of our waiter but check the prices in the menu beforehand (as the menus are taken once you've ordered) but I'm sure it was an honest mistake. But I repeat, beautiful food, well presented. 😋

Really great dinner, super attentive staff. Started with some poppadoms and dips, and then a few dishes to share. Cannot remember the exact names but we picked a yellow lentil dal, paneer curry and an aubergine dish in a creamy sauce with pilau rice, lemon rice, roti and naan. Brilliant, everything was on point. Really recommend! These dishes were enough for 4 people to share and not be hungry (but definitely left some space for dessert).

We almost walked past Silka on Saturday night but decided to check it out without looking at Google reviews. We ended up being pleasantly surprised! The service was great, the manager was very warm and welcoming to us, we had a lovely conversation with him. The prawns were outstanding, best we’ve ever had. We decided to try the Duck curry, the sauce was great and my partner enjoyed it. I wasn’t as sound of the texture of the meat but enjoyed it nevertheless. The papri chaat was nice but could used fresh veg and herbs like red onions and coriander. Would highly recommend 👌🏽

All fine and pleasant enough experience. Very average all round though. Riding on the coattails of properly good Indian food elsewhere in London.
Also, these photos on the other reviews were not representative of what we were served.
Read this review if you are looking for an alternative for hoppers, dishoom, tandoor chop house and thought this was going to be a similar/good vibe in borough market. It’s not.
Decor was cheap and generally service was bang average.

Superb lunch. Freshly spiced and succulent chicken and lamb. Okra fries were excellent. As good an Indian as I have had in absolute years.
C. K.
The best ever. As I am not an Indian food fun, I tried lamb chops, Chennai and tandoori. Best of the best. Very smooth taste, the spices did not disturb me and thanks for the nice tea. I will visit you whenever I can. One more thing, focus on the food not the furniture. Food price is lower than the Borough Market shops which you eat on foot in plastic plates

Perfect place for 6 of us including 2 vegans to have a reunion. The staff were lovely, checking regularly to ensure we were happy, and all the dishes were delicious, with real depth of flavour. I see one other reviewer didn’t like the lack of music or decor, but to us that was a plus because the focus was on great food and service. Highly recommend!

Ordered this for the first time through Deliveroo. The portions were generous and really tasty! Everything had the perfect amount of spice. Will try and dine in this restaurant in the future.

Kali Mirchi - One of the most delicious curries I have ever had!
Update 16.01.22: Went back here today for a Sunday lunch with some dear friends. Despite being the only people in the restaurant, the food was simply outstanding! As well as the Chicken Kali Mirchi, we also had Okra fries, deconstructed Samosas, Lamb Kohlapuri, Black Dall Makhani, Sag Paneer, Garlic and Coriander Naan etc. Everything was exquisite and I could not fault the food at all. Only downside was because we were the only customers, they understandably wanted to close 2 hours after our arrival. Not cheap either but worth every penny imho. Cant wait to go back.
n. w.
Excellent food, first time I’ve used this restaurant , had an order through Deliveroo and will definitely be booking at a table soon. Food was superb quality, highly recommended.
J.
What an amazing experience, the aroma of spices being prepared and cooked was truly mouthwatering!
Not your usual menu offerings. The lamb chops were succulent and spicy, followed by chicken chennai hot and fiery, accompanied with plenty of raitha and freshly made mango lassi to douse the flames!
V.
Decent food and a good location right next to London bridge station
However the food took a long time to come out, we waited almost 2 hours for it.
We were blessed that a world class tabla player started an impromptu session. A real crowd pleaser and saved the night.
Wouldn't be in a rush to come back
P. T.
We just had the most amazing Vegan Indian food I’ve had in a long time beautiful food the owner went out of his way to give us best experience and food, and spoke to us after the meal, so i thought i would tell people to pop in there and check it out for yourselfs 10/10 can’t fault the food
J. P.
This place is a real gem. Beautifully cooked lamb was a highlight. And massive flavour packed into the sauces. It doesn't look much from the outside so was a brilliant surprise. It's actually my favourite Indian in the area now.
J. D.
Great Indian Restaurant. The dishes are well prepared and beautifully served. A lot of space inside. The service is pretty quick.

Simply browsing Indian food via internet near London Bridge , I found out Silka. Surprisingly the foods are super tasty and delicious, all dishes I ordered were fantastic, online price is cheaper than dine in at the restaurant, especially during pandemic the town is lockdown , I can only order through delivery services. I will definitely order again hopefully can get some offer.
Highly recommended! You will never regret!!
N. B.
A hidden gem in London Bridge! Great tasty food, top level hospitality and a nice, comfortable atmosphere. We will be back again for sure! Highly recommended the paneer dishes and the naan's are beautiful. Thank you for a nice evening!
T. M.
While the food was good, that was the most expensive Tikka Masala I have ever had in my entire life. AND IT DID NOT COME WITH RICE. you have to pay nearly 3 pounds extra for a small bowl of rice. The service was extremely slow. I had to ask multiple times for my check, we waited more than 15 minutes just to put in a drink order and then were told we needed to wait to order our food. Not to mention it is extremely loud and you have to yell across the table for your own party to hear you. The food was good, but the price, service and atmosphere are absolutely not worth it. Spend your money elsewhere!!
L. D. T.
The Silka was delightful. We started by walking down the stairs into a much quieter area, which took it away from the busyness of the usual London Bridge locations.
The staff were attentive by asking if we had a booking and showed us to the table straight away. A lovely meal with plenty of space and also you know a restaurant is good if 1. Fairly busy and 2. If, it has an authentic feel, full of culture and the people, which is a great sign.
An exciting twist in all dishes when reading through.
We always tend to go for something that is the hottest dish on the menu and didn't disappoint, which they suggested does change from time to time.
Good value for location and not your typical Curry restaurant had some real depth and thought behind it, which shows in the pictures.
We give it A***** and will be back.
Thanks :)

Delicious food, good quantity and most importantly they were on time …
Even though we were there for takeaway , the staff greeted us with warmth and offered if juice
L. J.
Don't walk past the unassuming entrance. Head downstairs for some amazing Indian food. Every dish we had... even the rice... was delicious. Some of the best Indian food we've had in London.
J. B.
Don't be put off by the basement location, this is a lovely hidden restaurant. We really enjoyed the food, some of the best curry I've had in a while. A little pricey but not unexpected from the area. Great service.
H. W.
Very delicious food and staff were friendly. I have returned following my first visit and taken new family members. The Chilli Gobi is amazing and we couldn't choose between the different Dal's so we had more than one. Ideal that you can have as side portions. Would go back again.
C. S.
Very expensive for the quantity. Chicken Tikka doesn't come with rice or naan....never experienced this anywhere else and I've had Indian food in 13+ countries. Restaurant is super loud, service was slow, and the worst mango lassi I've ever had (watered down, full of ice, no texture, cost £6). Spend your money elsewhere.
H. W.
The best curry i've ever had.. ordered from here loads recently to support local businesses. A little more pricey than your bog standard curry house.. but u get what you pay for.Food is not greasy at all and doesn't leave you with that 'take away feeling'
customer service excellent. Last night they gave us a beautiful aperol kit. Now aperol is our new drink! Didn't get a photo of our curry as we ate it too quickly!!
C. H.
Really tasty fresh food. Helpful and friendly service. Right next to the train station. Were very helpful with food allergy questions .
R. R.
In short, we endorse all the positives comments about Silka. Despite messing them about with numbers and times, we were still welcomed with open arms. Food sensational & staff knwoledgable, professional and nicely friendly. Maybe not for you if you like light and airy places (it's under-ground), otherwise, try and keep me away!
G. D.
Super busy but nice atmosphere
S. B.
Went to this restaurant on a Friday evening. It was really busy (a good sign) and quite noisy. Our main courses were delayed in coming out but the staff were all absolutely charming and really helpful and the food was delicious.
S.
This might be one of the few places that actually serve “Indian” food that doesn’t taste like desert. The butter chicken was on par with other restaurants but the rogan gosh was the best out of the rest.
N. B.
Had such a great meal here, we took papdi chat as a starter and it was amazing!! My main course, the Kolhapuri was so delicious, best Indian I've had in London. The outside seating was lovely and our waiter 'Abs' was super friendly! Will definitely come back here
D. H.
Great restaurant with a humble interior design, in a hidden corner under borough market!
I loved everything about their food!we had the spicy cauliflower and veg samosa for starter and I had their coconut creamy food with prawns that I have forgotten the name with mushroom rice! It was amazing!
For drinks Their mango lassy is great as well!
M. C.
We had brunch here at Cosme and had a great time. The food is both fresh and well-prepared. The service is excellent, and our waiter provided numerous helpful suggestions and information about every item on the menu.
I. A.
A great Indian restaurant! We didn’t have any booking and they gave us a table, although the restaurant is small and seemed to be completed (we recommend that better if you make a reservation)
The food was amazing, very good tasting and size.
We had vegi selection as starter and the main courses were chicken tikka masala and chicken Kadai, with lemon rice and plain naan.
Finally, the service was correct.
C. H.
Ordered many times. Delicious. Last time we forgot to add any rice/bread and I called the restaurant to see if I could amend my order (it was through deliveroo). this wasn’t possible on their end so I tried calling deliveroo which wasnt possible either. I ended up running to the local store to buy some rice and when it got delivered they added the rice free of charge together with a drink. This was so appreciated although I already bought the rice. Will be ordering here again and again! Try it, it’s a real gem!
G. L.
We were looking for a restaurant near London Bridge station when we came across this hidden gem! Easy to miss, as it’s downstairs, but not to be missed.
Incredible food, particularly the samosa chaat, okra fries, aloo paratha and tandoori jumbo prawns. Having eaten at some amazing Indian restaurants in London, NYC and DC, this food truly rivals them all!
Should also mention the wonderful service- a kind and friendly staff who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.
Will definitely return again, and recommend to anyone in London.
B. M.
Crave for some Indian curries? Reasonably priced, tasty desi khana (authentic food) right here in central London. Recommend.
A. B.
We’ve ordered takeaway via Uber 3 times and the food was always exceptional so for our meeting with some old friends, we chose to go to this restaurant. Everything about it is fantastic, the food was amazing, as well as the cocktails. Staff were great, very attentive and friendly. They definitely made the experience special! Many thanks to Juber - thanks so much for looking after us. It’s one of my favourite places in london and would recommend to everyone. Great selection of vegan dishes too!
G. A.
Firstly don't usually leave reviews but after my experience here felt a duty to let everyone know about this great restaurant. Went there on a Monday evening, looking for a place for a quick bite after a few drinks in Borough Market. We stumble upon this place, didn't know this place exists and I have been working in the area for years. For everyone's information its in the basement next door to Padella. The place didn't look too promising going down the stairs, the place looks a little tired and has been told by the new management its due for a refurb soon. Most importantly the food, the menu a little smaller than your usual Indian, which is a good thing in my opinion. Three of us had the Tandoor selection as starters, a mixture of three items all cooked to perfection and the flavours suttle and exquisite. Big fan of the chicken Madras, so I was a little-disappointed wasn't on the menu, the Manager recommended the Murg Chennai, hot and spicy and complex flavours that grows with each bite, Fish Molee a subtle coconut milk-based curry, and Lamb Rogan Josh, beautifully cooked lamb in a heartwarming sauce. Rice and Fluffy light nans to complete the meal. If you are looking for your usual curry house fair don't bother going here. The cooking is on another level and menu a small regional cooking from a talented team in the kitchen. Service from the owner/manager and Ronny was great spent time talking about their food. Looking forward to going back. Thank you guys!
P. D.
Very enjoyable meal last night; nice balance of mixed tandoori and a coconut spicy curry. Still not full yet, so easy to get a table! Give it a try.
R. H.
To think we almost walked past.... This is a hidden gem by borough market that's easy to miss.
The food was excellent, the menu offers a good selection and the service was very friendly. We are definitely going back.
F. K.
Awesome experience. Great food, specially the starter. Highly delicious. Juber was very attentive and provided great service. He also suggested the items that we can get quicker, so that we can enjoy more time exploring the beauty of London. Highly recommend the place.
J. M.
Best curry I have had in a long time and by far the best Indian takeaway in the area. Would not hesitate to order here again.
We ordered from Silka for the first time last night and it completely exceeded expectations. Everything was so delicious, especially the tandoori hara prawns - such a treat! And we really appreciated the lovely gift of the Aperol Spritz Kit. Hope to visit in person in due course.
M.
had dinner here last night, absolutely delicious! my favourite local indian sadly closed down in wimbledon and i've since really struggled to find one i like but i will definitely be visiting here again! staff really friendly and service was quick.
R. L.
Really nice food, good service, value for money and convenient location
K. D.
This was the absolute best Indian we’ve ever had. We had vegetarian/vegan dishes; favourites were rajasthani dal mix, saag aloo, khatta meetha baby aubergine. There were plenty of delicious options. We will be returning to try the ones we haven’t tried yet.
Lovely evening - thanks guys.

Ordered a take away collection from this place for my lockdown birthday and honestly was blown away!
I've had a few Indian takeaways in my life but this takes the cake from the customer service to the fresh food and portions I would give 5stars!
We did a big order as we love to try few things on the menu and would recommend the lamb shank and jumbo prawns omg to die for!
A special thank you for the customer service as we also received a complimentary aperol spritz kit which was pleasantly unexpected. I would come back here to sit down and eat next time.
M. K.
Me and a few friends were looking for a friendly restaurant with good food and nice atmosphere. We didn't have to look further - Silka was the place to be in! With staff that made us feel comfortable and like home from the beginning, outdoor space for people like me that want to enjoy the summer breeze and a great indoor space, delicious food I may dream about for some time, we had a great night out and almost felt like getting back to normal. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and cannot stress enough how good the food and quality of service was, it is a must to visit.
C. F.
Fine Indian Dining is something to get your head around as it is just different to the normal.
Food was well presented and extremely tasty but on the mild side, service efficient and friendly. We were only one of three sets of groups of two to three.
I would go again but not when I am particularly hungry as the portions were on the small side.
L. D.
Had a wonderful experience here, facilitated by an excellent, friendly server. Food was great, chat was great, environment was great. Highly recommend!
B. S.
Amazing curry here. Original and authentic. The murg curry was the best curry I've had in London. I've spent a lot of time in India and this place is the real deal. You could taste every ingredient. Proper curry leaves and the proper level of spice. Great ingredients and it really comes acxorss in the taste Very impressed and re ordering again today! 😍😍😍
J. P.
My brother and I had dinner here tonight and it was amazing! The food was superb and the service was very attentive. In a bit funny location in cellar, was this lovely urban Indian restaurant. All the staff were friendly, specially our waiter Juber. Food was really good, would go there again. Thank you Juber, this was our favorite dinner yet in London!
e. w.
Party of 7. Thoroughly enjoyed the authentic cuisine. Restaurant busy on a Friday evening. Good service
A. A.
Amazing restaurant! Najmin was really helpful and the food tasted great when I visited this Wednesday. Definitely going to come again!
G. M.
After living in London for 3 years, absolutely stoked I came across this amazing restaurant. Firstly the atmosphere, we sat in a spacious outdoor archway off the street. Lovely view on a summers evening at the edge of borough market in view of the shard. They also have a large modern indoor area (with aircon for summer or perfect for the winter months). Delicious, creative Indian food with a modern, unique twist. All the meals were sensational, variety of options for both meat eaters, pescatarians and vegetarians. The service was the best I've experienced during my time in London. Friendly, welcoming service without being overbearing. Special shout out to Abs who recommend some amazing dishes such as the Chilli Gobhi, Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Chennai. Will be bringing my local and visiting friends to try! Very easy online booking system and for August they are with eat out to help out. As you can see from my first profile this is the first london restaurant that has motivated me to post a review. Expectional in all aspects!
J. T.
Really nice food. Very helpful service
S. K.
Really good service. Had the lamb shank with mushroom rice and it was good. Disappointed with the prawn starter as it was just 2 medium size morsels. It was slightly overcooked in my opinion. Signage outside so small you can't really notice the restaurant. All in all happy with my evening.
M. F. S.
Went to Silka for dinner with some ex-colleagues. The restaurant itself has a very minimalist decor. The food was absolutely delicious and the waiters were fun, attentive and made us feel really welcome. I had the Silka tiger prawn dish for mains which I would highly recommend. A real gem if you are looking for a great Indian restaurant around London Bridge/Borough Market.
L. C.
Went here on Saturday night and it was delicious! Food very tasty and the waitors were very friendly and attentive! Will definitely be returning!
L. R.
We ate there 2 weeks ago. The place itself is somewhat hidden and modest. Though this helps you focus on the amazing food. It’s one of the best Indian places I know! Plus, the staff is very zealous. We will definitely come back!
I. S.
This place is amazing! My boyfriend and I came after searching for a nearby restaurant and we were so happy we chose to come here. The service was spectacular (they even made me something not on the menu because I’m picky), and at the end of our dinner one of the employees (Ronnie) bought both of us drinks. If you’re nearby you should definitely swing by and eat here. He asked our names and introduced himself to us. It was some of the best service I’ve ever experienced. Prices are good too! I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. They have been under new management since December I think, and I think that really took them up a notch. Wonderful restaurant and staff.
T. P.
This was so good I had to come back again the next night, and would certainly come back every time I am back in London. Seriously, I cannot say anything bad about this place. It is awesome. Food was outstanding. Staff were amazing. Despite the subterranean setting, the place did not feel too closed in. I feel certainly that it will soon get its first Michelin Star. Be sure to book a table. Space is limited. Order the cauliflower ghobi. It was insane. Nothing else I’ve found compares. And trust me, I’ve tried!
J.
Waited a little while for the mains but the food was great so all worth it in the end. The staff were very friendly and even gave us a Aperol Spritz starter kit to take home!
N. T.
Love the tikka masala, tandoor chicken, roti and the way they take pride in what they do. It feels healthy. The surprises in the takeaway is such a welcome touch I haven’t seen since i was a child. Now a weekly indulgence.
J. S.
Delicious, and the personnel was super nice.
M. K.
We had a lovely meal here on Friday evening celebrating our first wedding anniversary.
The food was very delicious with plenty of choice for my husband an omnivore and I, a vegetarian.
The staff made a fuss of us and congratulated us. Thank you for a lovey evening Silka staff.
We will come back again.
E. M.
Our second time here and if we lived in London we would be regulars. Absolutley amazing food with great flavours. This is not your average indian, it is much more of a culinary experience. Its great quality and every dish we have tried has been sublime. The service is the best. Naz and Jubair were very helpful, friendly and polite. I honestly cannot fault this place. Worth the journey from Colchester for sure. We leave this place planning our return. Keep up the fantastic work Silka.
J. H.
Ate here for a mates birthday dinner and the food was brilliant. Our waiter, Abs I believe, very funny, professional and gave great suggestions from the menu. Went just after the refurb so still a couple of things to fix but fantastic restaurant in a lively location. Would definitely recommend!
J. B.
The food was nice, we had some fine lamb chops and chicken. No menus for children. So we ordered 3 main courses with naan on the side for 2 adults & 2 children. With a price of over 80£ still was a little steep in comparison to the quality, service and setting.
R. S.
Silka is a fantastic place. I’d even go on to say that it’s a paradise for food lovers! Here you can get awesome dishes from the Indian cuisine. Items are tasty, spicy, hot and sweet depending on the item you are having. It is almost like having a riot of different tastes in your mouth at the same time! At the same time, the food is seemingly fresh. I found Silka as a place that offers good hospitality too.
R. M.
Tasty, delicious food with agreeable portions
T. Y.
Went here by chance while visiting London. Great food and great service. I was waited on by the young man who was working the bar, who was very friendly and made it a very welcoming experience. I can’t remember his name, but I know his family owned the place. It felt very much like home and the level of care they showed their customers made me feel like family, as well!
J. A.
Went last night for our annual football awards dinner. Food was fantastic as were the staff. Cant rate highly enough. Thank you for a fabulous meal and superb hosting. Will be back again soon.
J. R.
This is truly one of the best restaurants you will find if you want to taste extremely high quality Indian cuisine served in a relaxed, modern and friendly environment. The staff are charming and well versed in what they are serving. All in all a delight to find such consistent overall quality and a real asset in the London Bridge . If you are visiting or work local city book one night of your stay at this fine restaurant. If you live here and haven't tried it you are missing a real treat!! Oh we even had a quick chat with guy (forget his name he’s doing his PhD)behind the bar he’s really amazing and funny and witty. I think He’s family owns it Good luck guys ! Will be coming back soon.
E. T.
Fantastic food and service. The best Rogan Josh I have ever had. My brother and I thoroughly enjoyed our Thursday night curries. Will be back again next week
S. C.
(Updated end of Jan 2021) - Just to say - yet another incredible takeaway with stunning chicken tikka, spicy chicken chennai curry, rice, great naan. Thanks!
(Jan 2021) The best chicken tikka in london? I love silka. Incredible naan, chicken tikka and the chennai curry is deliciously spicy. Thanks guys - great to find a consistently amazing indian takeaway. One day will come to eat in also. Keep it up!!
C. G.
Amazing Indian restaurant in London. Very easy to find. The server was extremely kind. The meals came really quickly. It was delicious ! Very satisfied. Not too expensive, worth the price. You must try it.
R. M.
Lovely and tasty place you can find directly next to the Shard. The food was amazing and the service was very friendly. We could get a table without reservation, but 30min later almost all tables are full of people (seems we come on the right time to the right place).
S. P.
Excellent location right next to London bridge. Staff were very helpful and overall layout was good (not too crowded). The food overall was very tasty however the portions not so. It's not the cheapest place to dine however prices are as expected due to its location. Overall I would recommend a visit
J. T.
What a find, was looking for somewhere different before travelling back to West Sussex. Couldn't have been made to feel more welcome. Food absolutely delicious and attentive staff. We will return.
S. S.
Came here after a long day sight seeing, and all I can say is... 2 adults and 2 children thoroughly enjoyed our meals! Tastiest curry iv had in awhile, great service and great price for London! If I was local i would definitely eat there again!
J. A.
Fantastic Indian food - one of the best I’ve had and at such great value. They always go the extra mile can’t wait to dine in once covid has finished.
B. N. D.
Excellent food and especially, excellent service. So happy with that meal. There was one particular waiter that was very funny and made our experience very memorable. Will definitely come back.
T. C.
Delicious curry at affordable prices. We had a chicken kali mirchi and a mirchi gosht with rice and peshawari nan. As they were both meant to be spicy we asked for the kali mirchi to be mild. They balanced each other out so well and would recommend both dishes to anyone visiting this place. The staff are also super friendly and attentive to what you need.
S. N.
It was an amazing experience! My first time ever having Indian food.
It is so authentic and the people that work here ar incredible helpful. I recommend everyone to come here and support them!
E. N. K.
Food was fresh, great and more than enough. Staff was kind and very polite. Not crowded(lunch time). Fast service. Prices were fair. They could decorate the place a bit for a more indian atmosphere but rather than that,my experience here was great!

Nice experience. The non-veg thali which I had was tasting good. Though Tamil fish chilly which I ordered was good it isn't an authentic Tamil cuisine for me. I was served by Juber who was very kind to me. Cheers to him for his great service.
M. C.
Food was delicious, small simple menu so easy to chose. The waiter tried to use a white card reader that did not appear to be working. He eventually gave up and produced a normal looking machine. On the way out a other employee asked me if I was OK for the third time. That began to worry me I might not make it back up the stairs.
A. S.
Visited last night with 4 friends. Just reopened after refurbishment... toilets still bring completed but rest of it looks great ... food/service were great. Curry/beers came to £40 each
J. G.
Ignore the previous negative reviews. The restaurant is under new management (I think it's the same people that run Mango Indian nearby) and it's absolutely amazing. Waiting staff were really nice and the food was some of the best Indian food I've ever had.
F. S.
Normally, I visit Est when in the area. I had to try this restaurant and I wasn't disappointed. As expected, the food was very enjoyable (I chose several vegetarian small plates) and the service was excellent. A good choice of beers available as well (go local).
S. S.
The best Indian I have had in London. Great staff and the food is fantastic. Authentic and like nothing else you will find. Ask for Delhi style! 10 out of 10!
N.
I have been twice and their food is good ...but eating in is a terrible experience for a couple/small group. This place is popular with Londoners after work and it gets REALLY loud, it feels like a wetherspoons. The staff don't bother with niceties and usually just yank stuff off the table without asking (keep an eagle eye on your popadoms)
K. B.
This was a great little find, a stupendous biriyani and lamb chops. This is fine Indian cuisine at excellent prices. The staff were attentive and friendly. Especially Ronnie who made the dining experience complete
D. B.
Used to dine here quire a lot but the service declined. Went back after about a year and could not believe same place, under new management from the same team behind Mango Indian and Est. India. Have to say new management much more welcoming, fabulous food and hospitality. Recommend to anyone in the area.
V. K.
The food is delicious! The delivery was quick and the meals arrived warm. We really enjoyed our dinner :)
A. v. S.
Beware that spicy can be spicy. Great balanced flavour. Love the curry. Good to know is that if you want to order an alcoholic beverage, they do serve it.
E. C.
Wow! What an awesome culinary experience. Great staff and the chef surely knows his stuff. Soo delicious. Some of the best dishes I have tasted. Thanks guys.
K. R.
Fitted us in as and accomodated us when,we just walked in, amazingly tasty and aromatic food. 5 of us are chefs and were impressed. Only thing that could be better was the waiter leaning across us.
P. S.
This is my favourite Indian restaurant. It's not so local to me anymore but definitely worth the occasional stint across London.
A. A. Q.
It’s one of the best Indian restaurants that I’ve been to in London.
The food is delicious and full of flavour.
The only downside was the constant unnecessary chat by the waiters.
d. J.
Hidden down downstairs gem not far from the shard. Really good indianfood with a staff is attentive and works as a team,So ignore the negative comments Ash is fantastic thanks for looking after us and it was a great to chat to you. Well be back soon. Highly recommend!
a.

Last night in London and wanted to get some good Indian food, did not disappoint. Everything was outstanding and service was great. Juber took care of us and kept us happy!
S. P.
We've had a lot of Indian food - including in India and the rest of Asia - and this restaurant offers great cooking and excellent value.
T.
Great little find right next to Borough Market. New management have turned around and the food is amazing. Friendly, welcoming staff. Prices are good too for portion size. Recommend and will go again
g. b.
great place to eat and staff were amazing!
good vegan food.
S. I.
A nice small Indian restaurant. The head chef is really nice and so are the rest of the people there. Dishes come out quick and are flavorful to match the international tastebuds around.
R. C.
Didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did! Very generous portions and the meat was such good quality. Very much enjoyed the duck tikka masala and the curry with the green chillies and onions :) would go again.
N. L.
Excellent service, delicious food. We were in November 2018 in this lovely restaurant thanks to Google recommendations; the Maitre and waiters were so kind with us, a good customer service . It was a success!
S. W.
Brilliant place. Top quality food and the waiters are fantastic too. Ajay served us and he was phenomenal. Will definitely be eating here again.
R. L.
Silka does amazing Indian dishes, their staff are very friendly and welcoming. I keep going back and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes Indian food.
A. S.
We went for vegetarian Indian food. I must say this restaurant takes very good care of customers. They suggested food from the menu. Service was swift and pricing is cheap for place like London bridge. Must visit for a good curry experience.
P. W.
I was there two weeks ago. First time in London and friends told me must try the Indian food there. It was amazingly good. The restaurant accomondated my request to make a spicy dish unspicy. It's truely delicious. Great service.
C. E.
Went there on Valentine's day, was a great experience. It has an Asian meets a techno/futuristic theme.
It nicely hidden in a very popular area.
Prices are decent and overall good service from food, to customer service
L. W.
Wonderful food. Everyone we interacted with was very friendly and helpful. We shared 3 dishes (family style) and loved them all. I highly recommend them!
S. A.

S. K.
Delicious food. Attentive service. Nice atmosphere eating outside
T. D.
Absolutely brilliant food - tender lamb - with service to match. Its small so book, but currently its THE place for Indian sub food around London Bridge / Borough.
B. B.
Now under new management. Initially we were concerned about the wait for food, however upon arrival it was excellent. Rahul and his team have done a fantastic job and the taste and presentation are exceptional.
J. K.
The food was delicious, the atmosphere relaxed and the waiter really nice. Juber made every imaginable effort. I really liked it :-)
Greetings from Germany,
Jule & Elke

What amazing food! I had been so excited to have some Indian cuisine whilst visiting London. We happened into this unassuming underground gem. So good!
M. R.
Amazing place. Best Indian food I've ever had. But if you have an allergy to pine nuts be careful.
A. F.
Great food if you like Spicy food then this is the place to go. I don't no its a northern thing but we like chips with our Curry's so maybe put it just incase lol.
J. H.
Excellent food in a very nice space. The staff was very friendly and engaging. Nice beer and wine selection.
J. O.
Best curry house in the London Bridge area. Now the venue for an annual Christmas meet up with some old work friends.
O. C.
Great food, prices, and some of the best service I have ever experienced. the staff are attentive and friendly. Shout out to Ronnie for buying a drink for me and my girlfriend.

B. F. G.
This is the best Hyderabadi Indian cuisine restaurant in the city. I love coming here. The Nizami Chicken Tikka is my favorite dish.
B. K.
Great food. This is a basement restaurant so we were looking to eat somewhere else but it was too crowded so as we passed by the smell drew us in and in until we were inside the restaurant.
P. w.
Good and neat restaurant with Indian spices
Will be getting a better service...
Rates are normal.
Must have the food if you love spice..
L. D.
Went into this place last week and I was willing to taste just the starters but ended up eating a lot and I loved the ambience of the place. Really a cool place to have great food with loved ones.
D. S.
Has been a regular but in its latest incarnation the food was bland.
C. S.
I was always intrigued by Indian foods and tried almost every Indian food joint in London but Silka was way better than others. Positively going back again.
E. L.
Exquisite tandoori cuisine with reach. You don’t have to go to India to taste delicious tandoori dishes. Silka has become my favorite.
A. W.
