Reviews of Stem & Glory London Barts
G. H.
Amazing food and ambiance. We had a lovely time, 100% vegan menu and allergy friendly. My favourite was the Crispy BBQ Cauliflower wings. We’re definitely coming back.
N. P.
Nice fresh and relaxed vibe, nothing too pretentious. Was greeted well. Food wise we tried 3 small plates - gnocchi, cauliflower and kimchi pancakes. The first two were very tasty and delightful. Kimchi pancakes didn't work for us - too overpowering/salty. The sundae tasted nice but could have been better presented. Took a while to pay up as some staff had left and the others were busy preparing for closing.
A. Y.
"Fish" tacos were good but not a big enough portion for a main. Chips from the burger weren't cooked. Overall food was not up to the price tag.
R. P. Q.
Staff are accommodating & friendly! Feels like they have known you for a long time. We reserved online for a table outside as there was no inside table except the chef’s table. When we arrived there’s no heating nor light in the outside tables. The host managed to provide a table inside even though it was fully booked. So we were very pleased with it! Ambiance is nice and particularly like the lighting the the huge geometric patterned wall. We ordered 1 small plate - kimchi pancake and 1 large plate - Szechuan aubergine & kimchi rice and finished off with warm cherry crumble with (hot) custard. Food is good but could be better. Portion is alright I guess. :) let’s just say I expected better but overall, because of the lovely welcome and attentive staff I am giving them a ⭐️⭐️⭐️ google rating!

Absolutely amazing vegan food (five star). The table service given made this restaurant feel a warm and welcoming environment (five star). I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I had a brilliant time here! All the food here is vegan and majority gluten free. We received a BuyaGift voucher as a birthday present and couldn't have been more impressed with both the friendly staff/service and the tasty food! We had the cauliflower wings for starter, followed by the Swede Gnocchi (both of our favourite dish) and Tofu Katsu curry. For dessert I had the Chocolate Fudge Brownie (woooow!! 🤤) My wife had the Rasberry 'Cheesecake'. We'll definitely be coming back here in the near future 🌱💚

I didn’t get the name of the waiter, but he was really friendly and nice. Always with a smile on his face and helpful. Food did take a little time, but we went as the restaurant opened so it was bang on lunch time. Tried the Cauliflower bites, tofu yakitori and sticky toffee pudding, and my friend opted for the Shakshouka. The food was decent, glad we tried this place out since overall it was nice. But I wouldn’t visit again, as pretty as it was — the food didn’t impress me that much to come back. I would recommend any vegan to try this place at least once though, it was a pleasant experience and I did leave with a full belly :)

Lovely interior: airy and white furnishings that lend a sense of calm. I was greeted warmly by staff and the manager (I think) so definitely sets a very good first impression. I popped in for takeaway lunch and had the NAKED BURGER BOWL 14: succulent protein pattie, baby spinach & cherry tomato salad, ‘novocado’, red fox beans, cucumber ribbons, with southern style slaw & buffalo aioli. I substituted grilled aubergine for the cucumber ribbons with no issue. Also had the grilled hispi cabbage as a side. Expensive for a lunch at £18 but so worth it. The patty was thick and succulent and the dressings moreish. I greatly enjoyed the red Fox beans and novocado as well. The cabbage was buttery and charred well.

Great place to hang out with a group of friends, nice atmosphere. The restaurant was very accommodative, food was average..
J. S.
Love this place. Delicious food but still healthy- my highlights are the kimchi pancakes and the pasta dish. Been twice, will definitely go back again. Only downside is both times my drink didn't taste like what I ordered, the first time they insisted it was correct so I didn't say anything the second time.
W. N.
Nice ambience and friendly staff but the food was variable. Cauliflower can be utterly delicious but the cauliflower wings were barely cooked and the only flavour came from the sauce. Burger was decent but cold and the chips were under done.
N.
Super delicious vegan food and very diverse menu from Tofu Katsu to hummus dips to sticky toffee pudding to cauliflower wings. All at fair prices
R. N.
The best vegan restaurant in London! Must try the raspberry cheesecake - it's the best cheesecake I've ever had and it didn't even have cheese
H. J.
nice modern restaurant, friendly staff, tasty food.
the menu is a bit random but executed pretty well & its great to share with a group.
great that they do not use any seitan / soy products so the vegetables take centre stage.
K. O.
Really lovely friendly staff.
The food is over priced and the portion sizes are small, the food was also cold and the chips were excessively greasy.
The food looked pretty and had nice flavours, but just needed to be hot and better value for money. The staff are great though.
A. M.
We took a number of starters and a main course served together.
The starters were fine but the main course, an aubergine base dish with rice, was excessive with the flavour in the sauce, overpowering all other flavours.
The wine, at £25+ a bottle was not vegan. Staff friendly and helpful but we knew when we had overstayed our welcome
R. C.
Came here for dinner with some friends and what a great experience. We were sat up at the bar by the kitchen and it was amazing watching the two brilliant chefs cooking, preparing, and plating the food. They were constantly on the move and everything was done with precision. It made our mouths water and the anticipation for our food was huge. The food we good was great, we had 'meatballs' and a redang curry. Both of which were excellent. Huge flavours and well balanced. Finally, to top it all off the serving staff were charming and excellent.
J. B.
Amazing food and quick service. Thoughtful and attentive staff. We had the gnocchi, arancini, the trio of dips, the pancakes and the ‘cheese’cake for dessert. All delicious. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes.
A. L.
My girlfriend and I visited Stem & Glory for her birthday and the overall experience was positive.
The service was quick and friendly, the location is nice and the premises looked modern and clean.
On the other side, some of the dishes we ordered were good but others not as great. For example, the Tofu Yakitori was really good and tasty, and the cauliflower buffalo wings as well. However, the Goan squash curry lacked flavor.
We would definitely recommend the place because it's entirely vegan with a number of different options.
M. H.
Really lovely plant-based restaurant, superb surroundings and service. Beautifully presented dishes and signature lattes.
H. W.
Delicious vegan food and craft beer. Try the pancakes with kimchi and the scallops (aka mushroom and artichokes) - amazing! This is what good food should be (vegan or not).
A. B.
Interesting vegan food, unusual location in Central London....looks new...clean and friendly service...
L. I.
Beautiful serving and absolutely delicious!
I've never been into vegan menus, didn't expect much. But in fact, that was a wonderful tasting adventure for me. Well done!
Highly recommend to try Buffalo Cauliflower Wings & Bao Burger.
L. D.
Tasty and eco-friendly, what’s not to love! Portion sizes are generous, and for central like London prices were very reasonable. Service was excellent throughout too. Would highly recommend.
M. M.
My expectations were probably too high. I was a foodie before becoming vegan and I still am. I couldn't wait to go to stem + glory and taste the dishes. I've tried tapas (cauliflower wings), the lasagna, the meatballs and the bao burger. I unfortunately did not fall in love with either of them. They lacked taste and were not what I was expecting. Again, maybe I got really hyped by all the reviews and went there with high hopes.
A. T.
The food was okay- I was hoping for it to be more special from the reviews as well the description on the menu and the way the food was presented.
We ordered 4 things- 2 tapas and 2 mains and while they looked good, the taste left a lot to be desired.
The kimchi pancake was pretty dry and prolly my least favourite (this was recommend by the server- poor choice!). The spicy tofu was better but again could have been a lot better with some more imagination.
The ‘city bowl’ again just seemed like bunch of things put together. The best item was probably the Katsu curry.
The place was nice although very busy and chaotic for a Saturday afternoon in the city. The staff although friendly seemed very overwhelmed and took a really long time to bring the food out. They did tell us on entering that the food would take long- totally okay with that if something special is coming out. For what we ordered, it didn’t seem that there was much effort in preparation or actual cooking, so I can’t understand why there was such a long delay.
Here’s hoping that they are able to address the shortcomings for me to visit again.
Honestly- average food with a lot of room for improvement.

This is a fine dining restaurant located near St Paul's. The place is very clean and nicely decorated. There is outside seating when the weather is good and the inside is air-conditioned. The staff is efficient and helpful. I recommend you to book in advance as it is busy, especially on Wednesdays when they are doing the Eat Out to Help Out scheme. I had the Bao burger and the raspberry cheesecake. Both were amazing - tasted great and felt healthy. The burger is £14 and the cheesecake £7.5. They are quite filling but don't make you feel bloated.
R. S.
Fresh tasty food in a light and vibrant environment.
If you can, try to get a seat at a regular dining table as the Chef’s Table may overlook the bar area which isn’t that interesting.
The mains are well-priced but the starters are a bit on the high side.
M. L.
This place was a gem! Food was clean and tasty. We had plant based Goan curry and a Bourguignon and some wonderful desserts we ate before taking pictures haha.
Service was great and the atmosphere was relaxed. They change their menu which we love so it's a great reason to come back.
R. B.
Stem + Glory was a perfect dinner surprise. The staff is incredible friendly and did not only offer advises on all the dishes but also free hot water refills for teas (even if you share a pot).
The food itself was amazing as well: We shared the lasagne and bowl, both really tasty dishes with good portion size. Sadly, the cheesecake was out but the chocolate coconut cake we order instead was incredible too. We will definitely be back!
C. F.
Delicious food. Had the king oyster scallops, Szechuan aubergine & the winter gnocchi and finished with the raspberry cheesecake. It was all amazing - great service. Would come back for sure!!
O. M.
Great Festive Roast and Bourgignon, cannot recommend enough. All the food and drink were great with an amazing service.
Can't wait to go again
J. C.
after my third visit i decided to finally leave a review. I wanted to love this place, but instead I sort of like it? The food is really hit or miss. The kimchi pancakes were bland and the cauliflower buffalo wings felt like they were made yesterday and just reheated. The standout was the gnocchi, but it wasn't hot enough and so by the time I ate half of it, it had already gone cold. I don't think I would come back again, London has so many other vegan options now. I support the concept, it was clean and staff friendly.
L. L.
Often my main concern with going to a vegan restaurant is that they will disappoint by recreating classic dishes badly.
Given my reservations, I was a bit bold in ordering a classic lasagne but I am pleased to say I wasn't disappointed at all! The bechamel was made of cashew and the pasta layers out of celeriac. It wasn't an exact replica but it came very close.
The vegan English breakfast and other dishes that my guests ordered also hit the spot: Tasty and nutritious vegan food that doesn't break the bank.
J. N.
I have wanted to visit S&G for a while. I was not disappointed. The special Cinco de Mayo menu was delicious. Everything is fresh and well presented. The restaurant is very scandinavian in style. The staff are friendly and welcoming. It's so nice to be able to eat anything you like from menu. I hope that this is the first of many vegan restaurants that S&G open.
T. K.
Came here with the expectation that it will be amazing, but it was just an average experience for this range of restaurant. Service was on the slow side and a bit cold (wouldn’t blame the staff, it was quite busy and there were only 2 waiters serving the whole place). The dishes were good, however I have tried better vegan food in non specialized vegan places (even at food markets in East London). Portions are small for the price but the quality, while still good, doesn’t justify it. Highlight was the chocolate almonds cake which was rich and not overly sweet. The atmosphere could use some charm and cosy-ness, it has more of a hyper/rushed vibe. Would give it a second try since there aren’t many vegan-only places of the same range, however I do think they can do better.
C. H.
Absolutely amazing vegan food!! Will definitely be returning :)
L. a. B.
A beautiful place ... A bit hidden. The friendliest team. The food was so delicious
J. f.
Food was fresh and delicious. Black rice was very crunchy mind and we had a pretty long wait for our food. But we did get compensated on the bill. Was still a good experience
J. G. R.
Oh so delicious! I booked this for a birthday dinner and couldn't have been more delighted with my choice. We were sat at a lovely table with some cute candles, there was some atmospheric music and dimmed lighting in the otherwise very fresh interior. The food was served so speedily yet the staff were so friendly it didnt feel rushed at all. I tried the gnocchi, which was definitely my favourite dish of the night! The flavours were so harmonious, the sweet creamy sauce with the tang of the balsamic, so unique and absolutely delectable. The kimchi pancakes had such a fluffy texture and the spice combination in the sauce that accompanied them was divine. The special on the menu was my choice for main course and it absolutely did not disappoint, each dish had so much attention to detail this primarily a moroccan tagine style sauce had a sprinkling of a green paste on it that pulled out a more tangy undertone which was so beautiful with the sweetness of the pomegranate seeds! So delicious. Finally the sticky toffee pudding was gorgeous! Not too sweet, just right. I will definitely be coming again. It was so refreshing to see such a diverse menu also.
C. D.
A very delicious vegan meal, I dont have to say much, just let the pictures do the talking! It was their new menu launch so we had 50% off food, otherwise it would have been quite expensive (but you get what you pay for!) Friendly and efficient service. Dog friendly as well!
J. B.
So welcoming, such a great menu
Enoki mushrooms in the delicious green curry were a treat. Lots of spicy kombucha evident. Great chocolate cake dessert. Vegan Bailey's and decent Chardonnay on the drinks menu. Didn't try the cocktails, but will next time.
N. K.
Amazing food and beautifully presented. Flavours were varied and we enjoyed trying a whole range of different dishes. It was a delightful meal and generous portions. We would definitely eat here again.
J. K.
Delicious food and wonderful service. There was a Chinese Moon special menu on offer when I went which included some incredibly options. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, vegan or non-vegan! The waitresses seemed happy and and the interior is very stylish. A great all-round experience.
c. c.
Great service, super friendly! We were in a party of 3 and we ordered a bit of everything so we all could try each other’s choices. The cauliflower starter was absolutely amazing!!! The trio of Hummus was super nice, the rice bon bons lacked a bit of flavour, wouldn’t order it again.
Mains- the burger was outstanding! I never tried a veggie burger as good as this one! The swede gnocchi was nice, well seasoned and super filling. The katsu dish unfortunately wasn’t good, very bland.
I’ll definitely come back 🤤🤩
A. V.
The service was phenomenal and really caring staff. The kitchen staff are super friendly. The food is beautiful, fresh, healthy and delicious. It's a must to go and visit on the vegan food list!
P. T.
I was looking forward to this for a long time, but what a complete let down.
The restaurant was very cold, the ambiance was dull and the service was slow and pretty average.
But the food was the biggest let down, it was ok, but really lack depth of flavour. The cauliflower wings were just large lumps of bland dry cauliflower with very little sauce, the crispy tofu wasn't crispy, the bao bun was nice, but the jackfruit filling was boring and the salad was a joke - all very uninspiring, a real let down.
The only highlight of the evening was the mango ''cheese'' cake which was delicious and saved the review from being a 2 star.
Even with a discount the food was way over priced which added to the disappointment
E. S. P.
I have been delighted with my experience at Stem + Glory! Service was attentive and food incredibly tasty and beautifully presented. Possibly the best vegan restaurant I tried so far in London. Absolutely recommended when around the Barbican area!
D. R.
The Kimchi Pancakes are To. Die. For. We had 3 other small plates which were also great ('Fish' Tacos, Broccolini and Gnocchi) - and were filling enough for 2 peple with heathy appetites. I thought they were very reasonably priced. Friendly staff and a nice space too - I can't wait to visit their new venue at Broadgate Circle when it opens in the Spring
H. M.
Absolutely delicious food, so different to anything I've tried before and cannot wait to visit again soon!
K. V.
Atmosphere and service was great but food was a bit lacking to be honest. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but the kimchee pancakes and the Tofu Yakitori left a lot to be desired. Pancakes were soggy and dense in consistency- not crispy as they should be. I get this is 'clean' tasting but flavours had no depth and didn't balance well in the dishes. Also pretty pricey for what it is.
L. W.
This all vegan restaurant has delicious food and even better service! The lasagna was rich and delicious, no artificial cheese needed. A table favourite was the Black Quinoa Paella with its aromatic flavours. My favourites of the appetizers were the kimchi pancakes and the hummus platter.
To top it off the chocolate cake was divine!
I would absolutely eat here again.
M. B.
A great restaurant for some tasty vegan food. Gnocchi was a personal favourite, alongside the watermelon salad. The vegan cheesecake was a little rubbery and underwhelming but the sticky toffee pudding was delicious.
Food came out too quickly (within 5 mins of ordering), which was a surprise but the service was excellent. We were looked after by Jessica and she was very attentive and friendly! Thank you!
F. K.
Lovely Vegan food. Started with the Aubergine Chermoula my companion had the Patatas Bravas. Followed up with the Bao Burger (spicy) and my friend had the green thai curry. All lovely. Sorry no pics of the starters. They were small plates so decent size dishes. Feeling happy and content. Staff friendly and helpful with the menu. I will be back soon
I. F.
Highly recommend the Kimchi pancake for starter. And the chocolate torte for dessert! Great service too!
J. M.
Organised a birthday meal here for my partner and they happily accommodated our party of 20. The restaurant is spotless with a great, relaxed vibe and all the staff were attentive and very friendly. The food was incredible and very well presented and we had a great night. Nothing was too much for them and they also sorted a gluten free cake at very short notice. I would highly recommend visiting.
W. P.
Easily the best vegan I've had. The cauliflower "wings" are lovely, and the lasagne and "meatballs" excellent, but those cheesecakes....they are the greatest. The texture of the cashew, the freshness of the raspberry. Just a cheeky hint of salt in the almond cake too - amazing.
F. I.
Lovely place. Attentive staff. Generous portions. Mushroom Wellington was nice but needs some gravy with it!
K. A.
Super presentation of food, but the taste is the all important test - they passed with flying colours! Highly recommend you give this new business a visit whether you are #vegan or just #vegancurious. I was there mid-afternoon, so it was calm and relaxed. Just a few minutes from St Paul's, round the corner from St Bart's Hospital
L. C.
Lovely place, really helpful and chilled staff, delicious food and cocktails.. We recommend!
G.
My expectations were a little too high from reading the description online.
Had the full vegan breakfast and thought it lacked in flavour and creativity... (Very small amount of scrambled tofu!).
The avocado and beetroot tartar was nice but nothing special.
P. W.
What great food they have! Vegan dishes, briljant quality, very tasty
Ans friendly people that helpwd me make the right choices on what to eat.
M. H.
Really tasty food, great wine selection & excellent friendly staff. This restaurant will be a regular on my list of places to go for a meal. Absolutely delightful place!
A. M. H.
Lovely food and great service! Rarely pleasing atmosphere there and a relaxing first time experience at a new (for me) vegan restaurant
M. G. (.
Lovely staff and delicious food 🤤
M. H.
That was truly excellent- I am not vegan but would happily eat that everyday for lunch (if I didn't live 200 miles away!)
G. F.
I agree with Lucy Trend's review. Shame the owner deleted their response to Lu's review now, which makes Lucy's review appear a tad out of context. Again, another not great example of transparency on the owner's part.
I dined there with a friend and found the food good and heathy, although not outstanding in my opinion. They have a long way to go in terms of drinks offer and staff treatment if they retain 50% of service charge. Would also be helpful to understand if they pay above national or London living wage, as they are two different things indeed!
N. K.
A bit pricey but worth it. The food is great! Not too much of a wait either.
C. U.
Never tried vegan before, so wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to find a broad menu full of delicious combinations, some of which I couldn’t work out how it would taste, but everything was absolutely top quality. I had the BBQ Cauliflower Wings and then a Yogi Bowl. Delicious! Time has certainly been taken to create a diverse range of dishes and I can’t wait to return to try the rest of the menu. Staff are world-class too, very warm and welcoming... Oh, get on the Gamma Ray ale too, that’s special stuff. Well done Stem + Glory, 10/10 from me!
M. F.
Food was absolutely incredible! I’m used to nice vegan food but this is next level. The staff were brilliant, just the right amount of attentiveness and very knowledgeable about their food and drink. And the wine and drinks list was great as well.. amazing night all round! Definitely coming back soon 🙏
O. R.
Food was okay but sadly we experienced a lot of service issues alongside the table next to us.
N. D.
Fully vegan, great tasting, well presented and brilliant staff!
A. E.
Had a really delicious lunch and the staff were accommodating to the fact some of the party arrived late.
Great quality food for a reasonable price, can't wait to try more in the future.
L. K.
Food amazing, staff even better. Sadly the company take 50% of the staff tips, (what l mean is 50% of service charge) l find this unethical. Would put me off going back.
T. N. (.
Light and airy; excellent friendly service and great Vegan dishes.
H. H.
Stumbled upon this place by accident looking for a vegan place near the Barbican. The staff were absolutely wonderful and the food is some of the best I've had in London.
R. K.
Amazing food choice and quality ingredients. The staff very cool!
S. S.
We sat at the Chef's Table and enjoyed seeing the chef create amazing vegan dishes throughout our lunch. The staff was very attentive and even after a mixup with our table when we arrived they made sure we forgot all about it. The food was delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant nice and bubbly. We will return for sure.
S. T.
Had a lovely dinner here this evening. Delicious food, friendly service and really cool vibe. Some of the best vegan food in London right now. Tried the Chinese New Year menu and it was delicious, so many things on the normal menu we also wanted to try too so we will be back soon for sure. A lovely evening in a lovely setting.
D. H.
Wow, what a lovely evening!
We didn't think we were going to be able to get a seat but they let us sit at the bar.
We were able to watch the food being made and it was so COOL!!
Fanks so much 😊
J. K.
Really nice meal! We had the Jambulaya and the Meatballs and both were delicious! the Tofu was spiced really well and had a smoky meaty' flavour. it was HUGE could easily share it! And my partner had the meatballs, which were full of interesting and exciting flavours. For desert we tried the Creme Brulee and WOW! definitely worth staying for desert! Great service too and a really good list of interesting craft beers as well :) If you are vegan or up for trying new things - definitely worth checking out!
J. L.
This place is amazing. The food was soooo delicious and they went above and beyond when I asked them what their options were for my celiac friend. I got an email directly from the manager and chef, reassuring me that it was 100% safe for her. Once in the restaurant my friend was so happy that for the first time she could eat anything in the menu without restrictions. The wine was delicious as well and the waiter was very nice at all times. I can’t recommend this place enough.
H. M.
Awesome place. Looking forward to sharing a review on Plant Shift.
J. H.
A group of three of us went here yesterday and it was really great food. We had a nibbles start, shared, then got a starter to share and a main each. This was more than enough food for us and all of it delicious. We also had 5 drinks between us which were all really nice.
It is a little on the pricey side, but not really any pricier than other restaurants of this calibre in the area.
The service was also really great, they got the mix of attentive but not intrusive just right. Would totally recommend this restaurant to all.
The table spacing in the restaurant is also good, some restaurants cram as many in as possible, but not here! Nice atmosphere, some music but not too loud at all.
Overall amazing experience, thank you.
E. S.
Fantastic service and fantastic food! Try the Szechuan spicy tofu and raspberry cheesecake :)
L. T.
I think the practise of adding a service charge and then using it to pay wages is unethical, even if the staff are 'paid well'. What does 'paid well' mean anyway? Seems subjective to me. Just give them the service charge and be transparent about it.
K. W.
Most amazing restaurant for plant based eaters.. menu is interesting and has too many choices. Had a few tapas starters and a main to share with my friend. Everything was super tasty... favourite dishes avocado and beetroot.. whatever those crackers were, they were AMAZING! My meat eating friend decided she wanted cheese at the end which I was against as I haven't eaten a good vegan cheese in a years.. LET e tell you BEST AND CLOSEST THING TO CHEESE IVE EATEN! Heaven on a plate. Service from the team but especially Victoria was exactly how it should be.. friendly but not introding a real asset to a restaurant. Well done team Stem and glory
Y.
A fantastic restaurant
Great food and decor
Caters for large groups
Lovely staff
Good portion sizes
E. D.
I have visited Stem + Glory with family of 5 couple days before my birthday. On the way in we were warmly greeted by Sandy and Victoria. We sat at the chefs table and were served by the most amazing vegan chef in London Julija. She accommodate me with my special dietary requirements (oil free, wholesome food). The experience sitting on the chefs table was totally worth it and felt extremely special. We had a chance to taste different options beforehand. We loved all dishes, especially lasagna and Kimchi pancakes. Thank you to all staff for going extra mile and making our dinner exceptional. I will definitely recommend to others and will come back again!
H. M.
Very tasty food, but lacking atmosphere. It's one of those vegetarian restaurants that could exist all over the world and could be as well placed or misplaced like stem & glory. They have good discounts if you get their newsletter. To sum it up. If you are vegetarian/vegan and want to try great food, then this is a great place. If you want a romantic evening, choose something else.
F. N.
My first visit and was so impressed! Lovely surroundings and our waitress was brilliant. The food was a picture and tasted divine. The best vegan meal I've had in a long time. Couldn't fault it!
L. A.
Food was delicious! Thank you to Cole for the great service with a smile 😊 A pay rise is needed!
D. B.
Delightful place and delicious food. The Wellington was very tasty.
L. B.
Just Wow!
Great staff, the "crab" tasted like crab, the "chicken wings" tasted like chicken wings, the lasagne (pictured) was brilliant!!! 😍
A. D.
Among the best vegan restaurants in the UK. Very friendly staff who love their restaurant. Don't miss the rotating cans of hard to find delicious beer. We had the Sunday Roast and the All Day Vegan; perfect for the Vegan London experience. We began with delicious kimchee pancakes and finished with a raw carrot cheesecake to die for. The proprietor cares deeply about the quality of his product.
R.
12.5% service charge, but brought us the wrong bill!!! We had to ask for the correct bill and for the table to be "cleaned" (wiped with a paper napkin leaving ketchup residue on the surface). Don't feel 12.5% charged was reflective of a mixed service. Food is well presented and the main course was delicious. However, the juices and chips were average and you could get something similar quality from a less expensive place, such as Leon. Only feel the main was worth restaurant prices, so unlikely to go there again for dinner.
D. B.
Really great food, good drink selection for alcohol and softs. Lots of different cuisines, so good it you aren't all craving the same. Went with two meat eaters who both enjoyed!
F. I.
We had hummus, Sunday roast, lasagna, salad, English breakfast, kids paella... everything carefully prepared, very attentive to details.
All were great! Highlights to lasagna and kids paella, which was a big portion.
And, Cheesecake for desert was great too. Congrats! Great to see plant based restaurants thrive! It is already on our top 3 best. We love it that it is open on Sundays, when the streets nearby are simply desert. Walk by the postman’s park to see one of the top 10 trees. Highly recommend!
C. C.
Fantastic vegan restaurant. Expensive but a lovely treat to have so many choices of beautiful vegan food. Fairly close to Bart's Hospital.

I'm not vegan but went with my friend - the food was so nice and filling, I was really surprised! We sat at the bar so you could see into the kitchen as they cooked, all the chefs went to a lot of effort to talk to us, explain what they were doing and give us advice. It's not the easiest place to find but such a lovely place, will definitely go again.

My friend introduced me to Stem and Glory, for which I am forever grateful. The food is delicious with great portion sizes and they do the best desserts, always a treat to have a vegan dessert. The service is thoughtful. I am so glad S+G decided to set up shop in London in a lovely quiet corner of the City of London.
S. G.
This photo doesn't do this place justice. Awesome food, awesome service. Definitely worth a visit if you fancy some plant based food!
J. T.
Service was warm and friendly. Venue is quite cool. The food unfortunately was pretty bland. I had heard good things about their cheesecake but decided not to order as our starters/mains were disappointing. I probably wouldn’t visit again as there are better vegan options elsewhere.
S. J.
It was a pleasant nutritious meal with some interesting flavours. I wouldn't say it was one of my best vegan meals. The dessert of almond chocolate cake with raspberry jam was probably my favourite dish here.
B. M.
Hit or miss spot. The cauliflower wings were incredibly bland but the katsu curry was wonderful. The gnocchi was amazing but the lasagne required 30 minutes to cool before eating. And they ran out of some options early in the night (before 7pm). Nice staff, very friendly. I'd eat there again but I'm not rushing back.
L. B.
Really lovely vegan food emphasising fresh ingredients, great flavours and beautiful presentation. Very good service. Portion size is a very personal thing - if anything the portions were a bit too big for me! Will definitely return
K. S.
Fantastic wine, dinner, dessert, staff, music and decor. Do it. You wont regret it. Xx
L. T.
After having read a review of the restaurant by Giles Coren in The Times, I went down to Stem + Glory with my friend for dinner. I am not vegan, but my friend is, so I thought it would be interesting to see how our experiences compared.
Verdict: fantastic - even by the heightened standards of London (with so much choice in the city, something's got to be really good for it just to be considered good). Not keen on the interior design - too minimalist and pastel-coloured - but the staff were very friendly and attentive. The food was exceptional - I did not miss the 'missing ingredients' on the exclusively plant-based menu. I would especially recommend the kimchi pancakes (not pancakes, but interesting flavours) and the green curry (so tasty, so nutritional, so beautifully presented). Their wine menu was quite good too. Obviously not gourmet Michelin-stared dining, but very impressive for a small new restaurant and reasonable prices.
Great find - I'll definitely be going back, even with my non-Vegan friends! 8/10
S. V. J.
Fabulous. What a treat to enjoy delicious vegan food with a creative and healthy menu. Will definitely come back soon I hope!
K. M.
I took my colleagues to Stem + Glory for lunch a couple of weeks ago. I am the only vegan in the group and everyone really enjoyed the food here. The prices are slightly high compared to other vegan places in the city but the service and atmosphere was lovely.
G. B.
My visit was let down by waiter's unfamiliarity with the food on offer. I was completely misled about the anonymous "vegetables" in the quinoa dish, so I had to leave hungry with half the plate going to waste. Vegans can have likes and dislikes too!
UPDATE in response to response: mine was not a half price, £24 for a main and a soft drink.
A. G.
Jim more than exceeded our expectations with his customer service. I contacted Stem & Glory to arrange a farewell lunch for a colleague who was fasting. Jim made sure to inform himself of her dietary requirements and then put together a suitable menu for her. Needless to say Neha went from claiming that she was happy not to eat to feeling pampered and enjoying a full course meal. The men in our group were a bit wary of being taken to a vegan restaurant but they loved their dishes and were surprised at how full they felt. We loved the food, the service and the ambience. Definitely would recommend. Thanks for a lovely lunch!
S. C.
Really enjoyed my first visit here (lasagne was great) so booked a special lunch for my hubby’s 40th. Afraid to say my second visit was not so great. I was served frozen ‘meatballs’. Literally still frozen inside. It came out again piping hot (probably longer in the microwave). Great that they are pet friendly though.
V.
Really nice vegan food it's definitely worth a visit either if you're vegan or not
P. L. L.
Lovely place with AMAZING vegan food! Very friendly too
O. B.
Apart from the fabulous food, the staff are super friendly and interactive. And I whitnessed the chef and a waiter having a friendly hug, I could tell the staff look after each other and this gives off a great loving vibe. They even made us sangria which wasn’t in the menu. Top marks!!! Had a great night.
From the birthday girl with the painting 👌🏾

Visited Stem & Glory for its opening last night and was blown away. The interior was beautiful and finished really nicely. We got a really great welcome from all the staff who were very knowledgeable about the menu. The Head Chef even came over to welcome us! As for the food we tried as much as we could and nothing disappointed. I particularly enjoyed the 'meat'balls which we so tasty. The green curry was also a favourite - we asked for spoons so we could eat every last bit of sauce.
I can't wait to go back to try everything else!
J. O.
Not a bad place, but lacks finesse. Went for the Christmas lunch - the starter was very good, the dessert superb, but the main course floundered. Roast vegetables lacked impact and the gravy was underwhelming. Small things - like plates not being hot - pulled this down a peg. Not a place to avoid, but equally not somewhere to make a special visit to.
A. S.
I don't think this place is worth the money. We paid £30 a head, not including drinks, and half of us only had 2 courses. Some of the food was delicious (gnocchi, lasagne) but others were not great (crab salad, katsu). I think OK for a quick lunch of your favourite dish, but this is not a 3 course place. I really baulked at £4 for a small plate of under fried potatoes. Just a bit....meh.
R. D.
Some things were great some things they get more elaborate then they need. For example I ordered the vegan cheesecake, instead of a crunchy biscuit base they got a bit complicated and had an iat ir seed based. But you feel a cheese cake should have a biscuit base.
As you can see I ordered a lasagna, again instead of using pasta sheets they used celeriac sheets but it just didn't work because it was very hard. Had too much courgette in it and not much seasoning.
The pesto crisp bread was good though. Shame I wanted to like it. I have been to all the vegan restaurants in london and this is my leas favourite unfortunately
*post owners comment* I take back the moment about the cheese cake, but i didn't see the work Raw on the menu, but i may have missed it. Upgraded the rating by one. Perhaps the staff should explain the menu
E. O.
Some of the best vegan food on the planet to be found here - healthy, whole food versions of old favourites like lasagne which feel indulgent and taste delicious, but without the heaviness of the originals. Chilled, LA-vibe with modern, classy decor and relaxed tunes. Order their signature kimchi pancakes and their katsu curry for a for a guaranteed taste sensation. If you’ve been to Cafe Gratitude in the USA, you’ll love this place!
R. F.
Had a fantastic dinner at Stem + Glory. The staff are attentive and knowledgable, the service was excellent, and the decor/ambience of the restaurant are perfect for an evening meal out.
The food was what really made the evening special though, and this was easily the best vegan meal I've had. The variety, flavours, colours, and presentation of the food were all great. The green curry and mango ceviche were particular highlights, and although most of our group were doing dry January, there is a great selection of vegan alcoholic drinks which I'm sure we'll be back to devour from Feb 1st...
Most of us are meat eaters, but I think even the most die-hard carnivore could be persuaded to ditch animal products if all meals tasted like this one! Great food and clean conscience! 10/10 :)

Delicious ice cream, good staff, great appearance, not cheap but reasonable for location

I love this place cos its so chilled out and my friends like the GF selection.

Great vegan restaurant. Food was delicious and very well presented. Excellent value for money. The Chef Valentina is very passionate about the ingredients and food she prepares. Highly recommended
k. j.
staff were so lovely. the food was delicious and so flavourful and neither my partner or I are vegan. will definitely be returning with our vegan friends!
C. M.
Really nice food and great energy at the restaurant. Very bright and quiet. Loved it, will definitely go back :)
L. B.
Really great new restaurant! I had a selection of the sharing plates and all the food was delicious. In particular, the golden hummus was very tasty (and beautifully presented), and the Albóndigas were amazing. Can't wait to go back to try the Bao burger next! I also appreciated the range of Kombucha based drinks.
S. W.
Fantastic! The vegan birthday cake reveal was the highlight of a most enjoyable eve.
I. S.
Food is fine but not exceptional. Feels like it's trying to do fake-cheese and fake-meat too much rather than just being vegan. Wasn't particularly filling either. Food took a while to arrive even though it was almost empty.
l. a.
Amazing food with exceptional service. We were served so quickly and food came within minutes of being ordered. Definitely worth a visit! So great o have affordable, quality vegan dining!
S.
Great food especially recommend the bao mushroom and raspberry cheesecake.
Improvement: tye AC is way too cold even the food gets colder so quickly. Bring a jacket
C. F.
Thoroughly enjoyed my first visit to Stem & Glory. Amazingly tasty food made of inspiring ingredients all with a twist. Attentive service with a buzzy atmosphere which I wondered if it might be a bit quiet as went inbetween Christmas & New Year but it was full, friendly & definitely a place I'll go back to.
k. l.
Enjoyed a superb early evening meal. We sat at the chef's table, watching and chatting to staff about the whole food they prepare. Valentina was very knowledgeable and everyone friendly and helpful. Delicious food.
Thanks
F. B.
Ealthy and delicious plant based food, friendly staff, good cocktails and reasonable prices. Busy during the week but if you look for quite go on Sunday for all day brunch. Also available is a lunch Menue and daily specials. Desserts are very good too. I can totally recommend.
A. H.
Superb! Best vegan food I have ever eaten! Converted (a little bit!) Excellent service also...thank you S&G for validating my investment! Always good when something lives up to the hype...you really met and exceeded my expectations.
R. S. B.
Fresh and tasty plant-based foods. The mango cheesecake is too good.
S. C.
Go here. Do it. You'll feel like you're doing that mindful self-care stuff - when you're actually eating tacos and drinking a bottle of wine. It's colourful, it's delicious, you can get fermented stuff with your roast potatoes and feel Oh So Virtuous. All but one dish is gluten free, the portions are generous, the drinks list is solid. Do a date night with your microbiome, eat all the carbs, feel a bit smug.
K. J.
Hidden gem. Great vegan dishes with good Callie for money. Friendly staff and soothing ambient music to top it. Must try. A bit hidden away from St Paul's cathedral.
G. H.
Brilliant customer service. Brilliant food. Went with non vegan family and all they kept saying was, "This can't be vegan?! Surely not!" Would highly, highly recommend. Will go again in the future.
H. D.
I moved into Barts Square just before lockdown so it’s been fantastic to have a local and independently owned restaurant back open over the last couple of weeks. I’ve been a couple times since reopening and the team and the menu are fab. Highly recommended!
L. M.
Fabaroonie grub and awesome staff, particularly the wee Luverpudlian lassie
l. l.
Wonderful service and delicious food! I had the bao burgers which were lush! The oat milk tea and blueberry crush mocktail was also gorgeous. I highly recommend this restaurant!
O. W.
Tasty food with large portions and a wide selection of drinks
F. G.
Its vegan! Promised much, delivered in part. Great starter of houmous, crackers and veg. Patatas bravas were ok, think the potato variety made them a bit watery. Mains were ok, but lacked texture and taste(tofu and chickpeas). But heading in the right direction. Great verdant beer.
C. V.
Slightly small portion sizes, particularly for the price. However the taste was great and the staff very friendly. Slightly out of the way, we were surprised that this was open given all the other shops and restaurants around were closed on the Sunday afternoon that we went. All in all, we would go back for the food but would expect to leave a little hungry.
D. A.
Really good food, but portions were a bit small and pricey... But hey it's London!
K. L.
Delicious meal! Tasty tapas with lots of flavour. Great setting and nice staff. The cheesecake is a must!
B. I.
Best restaurant ever been to … food delicious and healthy and fresh … cool staff and good vibe …

I would go there just for Victoria, the waitress, she has the most beautiful smile I have ever seen, def an asset for the place, I hope the manager looks after their employees. The place is great and food is def 5 stars.
K. M.
Can't rate this place enough! Had the most amazing vegan feast ever! Service was fast and friendly. Will definitely return!
P. V.
Beautiful total vegetarian food shared with friends
T. B.
Tasty food, but portion sizes were small (yet still pricey) and service was extremely slow. Good on them for being 100% vegan, though.
M. C.
Excellent vegan spot in central London. Friendly staff and delicious food.
S. N.
Phenomenal!! Be sure to try the cheesecake
C. B.
Been there last friday. It was late but the staff was very welcoming. Tasty food, full of colours and ideas. The Bao burger is to die for. Bravo!! We'll be back

This place was amazing. Not being vegan I wasnt sure what to expect. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly. I will eat here again.

I've visited over 70 vegan establishments in London, Stem and Glory is definitely in my top 5. Every dish I've had has been cooked to a high standard.

Super vegan food and drinks, that vegans and non-vegans alike will find delicious and fun. Bright and relaxed setting in the delightful new Bart's Square development.

If you're new to veganism, try the shatsuka bowl. Would visit more often if the menu changed more frequently so I could explore more dishes.

I had the English breakfast. Great taste and nice decor. Good service. Only thing is price vs portion - this place seems expensive.

Menu looked great, food was a little disappointing and lacked flavour. Bit stingy on the tempeh in our case
