Still a good solid Turkish Restaurant. Nice food, very well cooked and presented and plenty of seating, although it gets busy and quite noisy at the weekends. They're not that great on alcohol but there's a few different lagers (no real ales)and a couple of wines and a few other drinks. This is a good family restaurant.

It was a great experience from the start, first time eating there but we were greeted in a very friendly manner as if we had been going there for years. The food was fantastic and well priced. The baklava was particularly good and was a nice indulgent treat to have after the meal.

Nearly every time we visit family in London we visit Sumak, and everytime the food is lovely. The best thing about the restaurant is the atmosphere as it always has a really lovely buzz about it. Starters are great, and the mains are pretty big. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

Fairly professionally run Turkish place. Has some okay lunch deals. Chicken kulbasti - basically a grilled breast or fillet, took a while to arrive but came with a very comprehensive salad and good plate of hummus and tasty bread. I'll probably try one of the kebabs next time. Spacious and clean.

Some lovely dishes but a little 'hit and miss' ... the tabbouleh was gorgeous, the bread was fresh, the picked cabbage amazing. All the cooking was very good but the ingredients lacked. The falafel looked and tasted frozen, pre-bought and stogy. Not nice... the chicken was beautifully cooked but not good quality. The meat was cheap I think. But I'm a bit of a nerd for free-range happy animals... they taste so much better. Anyway was a great meal but let down a little by corner cutting.

Sumak is one of the best Turkey's Restaurant we have to eat food is fantastic freshly. Amazing food, very generous portions and friendly and attentive staff. Salad and bread are so delicious and definitely the adana kebab is one of the best I ever had. The only downside is the acoustic, you cannot hear clearly what the person is sitting with you is saying. Very loud background noise that could be easily corrected with an acoustic consultation.

The bread was not as good as it usually is, was slightly underdone and not seasoned as much as it usually is. 2. You can't make coffee liqueurs with squirty cream, you need to use proper cream.

Amazing service, some of the best I have had in the country and great lamb and chicken kebabs. Wife always goes for the seabass which is nice too plus they give lollipops to the kids. Starters are really nice but the calamari dish could be more. The restaurant is massive so it works well for distancing during the pandemic and you never have to wait long. They are really good with kids. The bread is too thin and not really much like other Turkish places, plus it is never enough!

Having recently diagnosed with a number of food allergies, eating in restaurants can be quite tricky. Normally we'd go to Green Lanes for Turkish. However, we've found those restaurants shockingly unhelpful around transparency with ingredients/allergens and careful ordering. Enter Sumak, which has been the absolute dream experience each time we've been. This most recent time, the server even came by with little carrot and cucumber crudités, so I wouldn't feel left out while the rest of the guests enjoyed the (lovely) bread and salad starter. The service is wonderful, thoughtful, kind and accommodating. Most importantly, and with much due credit, the food is absolutely fantastic! Though it gets more fanfare, Green Lanes' Turkish pales in comparison. This is genuinely the best Turkish we've had--and we've lived in the area for almost 10 years, and we've been to Istanbul and small Turkish towns. Thank you Sumak!

I ate at this restaurant last night with my date, absolutely cannot knock the food, the bread was the best I've ever had, meat cooked perfectly, just enough rice and the salad was fresh, crispy and dressed properly. The only reason for four stars instead of five is because the service was slow, out waitress must have finished her shift halfway through our meal and there was a gap of about 40 minutes from the time we finished our starters to the mains arriving. I guess we were just unlucky but it should have been picked up on. The manager was schmoozing a table of his compatriots on a nearby table for a birthday party so I guess he was distracted. Bit pricey compared to green lanes but food is excellent.

The owner could not have been a nicer host and the food was amazing. We had a voucher from our local school as the owner had donated to the annual school fundraiser. Where to begin? Extremely polite and friendly staff. As you may be aware turkish restaurants tend to give you some bread, salad and sauces etc; the bread you get here is exquisite and quite frankly they could charge for it and people would pay for it as it’s that good but thankfully it’s on the house. They have a very good menu and if it’s your first time there you maybe have a problem with what to pick as everything sounds soo good and then you’ll see the waiters walking around serving others and thinking hmmmm that looks delicious maybe I want that. You can’t go wrong in this place, highly recommend, you won’t regret it.

Sumak is usually a busy Turkish restaurant with a vibrant atmosphere, yet even on the rare quieter midweek evenings that good vibe is still there. Our ongoing experience at Sumak is that the owner and his staff have a proper work/customer ethos, all being efficient, really friendly and helpful. Both my wife and I dine there regularly and Sumak's food has always been well-prepared and consistent.

This is a genuine review (I dont know about the others) Ive been to this restaurant many times over the past 2 years and I would recommend attending this venue. The reasons why I would recommend this place is because the food is very nice and the service is pleasant. The chicken shish the adana the wings are delicious however the wings are a but small. The negatives are that service can be slow when busy and the waitresses/waiters can be forgetful. Having said that the place is very clean and you are made to feel welcome. On the whole I would give this restaurant 4/5 stars and that is excellent considering other places I've been too. Oracle Vans

I visited around 4pm and was the sole customer for some time. I was made welcome and service was attentive but not intrusive. Lamb shish was succulent and flavoursome and not overly spicy. I asked for couscous rather than rice, no problem. Only negative for me was that when pitta came with dips they didn't include houmous, I had to buy that as an extra. Kebab good value houmous expensive.

Oh wait I haven't told you about the chilli sauce yet! 🌶 It's delicious 😋 Here's my plan, you order the hummus, then you spoon a load of the chilli sauce into the hummus, give it a mix so you have chilli hummus (I'm a critic, not a chef) then pitta hummus dip away until you're so stuffed that you need to be rolled out the door by Prince Yusuf 👍🏽 Watch out for the hummus burps 🙄 Think I just broke the record for most hummus mentions in a paragraph.
