Great vegan options, good customer service. However, was previously told that the vegan food was prepared and fried separately to the meat, but I witnessed it all being made together and shoved in the same section which was a little upsetting. You do end up paying more for eating in which isn't entirely worth it given the damp toilet smell that rises and the fact the food doesn't always get served on a plate. However, food is delicious and team are very kind.

Came here after seeing it on the insider because they offer vegan fish and chips which sounded interesting so I thought I'd try. The fish was delicious and really tasty I couldn't fault it, the chips tasted really good and the helping was generous but I appreciated that. Was late in the day fancied some fish and chips, asked if I could have my fish skinned, was told no they only do this in the evening 🤔😒! Mmmmmm.......now shops are closing, business are going bust....I would if a customer ask for just that...guy looked like he couldn't be bothered, maybe had a bad day...but a hello or a smile would have been nice. Apart from that chips were nice & cod was a little over cooked, but was still nice saved by the lovely batter. Will continue to go to Kennedys in Central Street, were they do fillet your fish.

I had their vegan menu for my friend's birthday. Their fries and mushy peas are great and so is the vegan fried fish. I was not a fan of their vegan calamari, but over all, their vegan menu is a great option for vegans/vegetarians craving fish and chips <3

We order this every couple of weeks on deliveroo and it is fantastic every time. We usually go with cod or haddock. Both equally good. This was the first time we ordered fries instead of chips and they did not disappoint. The mushy peas are always good as well. My only complaint is that there have been a few times they have forgotten the lemon. There’s a button you can tick for lemon included that’s free. Not the end of the world! Definitely recommend this place! Always arrives hot!

We came here for our Valentine's meal and the food is always amazing. The Oysters were delicious, I'd highly recommend trying them. The fish selection is fantastic and the staff including waitresses are knowledgeable and very helpful. I'd highly recommend eating here it's a lovely experience.

Best fish and chips in London hands down. Customer service is impeccable. Prices are incredibly reasonable. Menu is surprisingly varied, includes everything from the classics to the delightful. But most impressive of all is the delicious freshness and unique batter recipe. It's just so bloody delicious. Can't recommend enough.

Truly amazing, authentic fish and chips. Their vegan fish and chips is also incredible. Location is a little off the beaten path, but well worth the time. Staff was incredible. My daughter left her cell phone behind and we did not notice for hours. A staff member had it for us when we got back there.

Atmosphere is really well done, service is welcoming. I had the bog standard fish and chips which was really good. The chips were the same as you'd get in any old chippy (not a complaint), and the fish is delicious. They are considerate of people with allergies or eating preferences, and have vinegar for those who can't have gluten and vegan options. I'd go again!

Small place, nice staff and lovely fish and chips! We ordered rock, cod and chips. All cooked to order and piping hot. Very hot chips! Food was not greasy and chips were served in little metal bucket and stayed hot. The toilet downstairs was an experience in itself. Wonderfully understated decor, only complaint being the bare concrete floor. A great Sunday afternoon treat!

I had the vegan fish and chips and a deep fried Mars bar. The chips and the Mars bar were great, but the vegan fish (made of banana blossom) could use a bit more flavor. The place was also very cold inside even in a sweater. A nice place overall for a good lunch.

Delicious vegan "fish" (banana blossom) and chips! We also tried the vegan "steak" (seitan) and ale pie, which is served with a hearty onion gravy. A demure little place, but definitely worth a visit. Great tunes too. We came all the way from South Africa to try this, and we were pleasantly surprised.

The best fish and chips I've had in London - as it's run by an excellent fishmonger the fish selection is superb and fresh. They also get the frying right - crisp and non-greasy. There's some seating for people who want to eat in, but the batter stays hot and crunchy for long enough to make takeaway worth it as well.

Great fish and chips - best I've found in town. All fresh fish makes such a difference and there is a reason why they are so popular. Bit decadent but do love the monkfish (although it's only a couple of quid more than the others). Highly recommend.

As far a London fish and chips goes, it was ok. But I expected more based on reviews from people I know. The traditional fish and chips was nice enough, but low on salt and served without peas or sauce. The grilled fish was fine, as were the lobster roll and the crab toast. I was disappointed in the mussels in terms of taste, and the scotch lobster was mediocre--but I expected that at £10.

Let’s begin with the good: chips were as advertised (large) and the correct ratio of fried exterior to fluffy interior. The “large” cod on the other hand was a measly excuse for a proud sea fish, a titan of the waves. The cod was not dissimilar to the scampi in size, which despite their diminutive girth were flavoursome and just the right side of rubbery. All in all an above average experience costing the price of a train ticket to Whitby where the cod are still worthy of the name.

Was out last night and happened to be passing by just as they were closing. I could pay on card at that time, and did not have any cash on me. The bloke stopped us as we were walking out the door, 'I'm not going to leave you empty handed, what do you want?' He gave us a fish each, free of charge, and apologized that there were no chips as the fryer had been turned off and cleaned. Extremely kind, what fantastic customer service. On top of all that, the fish was incredibly good, and certainly the best I've tried in London. Top marks all round, cheers guys.

I go here once it twice a month and it's always good. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because sometimes it's better than others. There are times I go here and it's literally the best fish and chips you can imagine but the next week it's only good (I know good is hardly a complaint, just a little disappointing when you're looking forward to the top notch they sometimes offer). Lovely food but don't allow dogs in which seems strange for a restaurant that makes a point of serving vegan food ? Staff were all very apologetic and wanted to allow dogs but not allowed by owners. It's not a legal requirement to not allow dogs in so unless the vegan option is based purely on a financial basis gain I suggest you review your policy asap. Otherwise a higher rating would of been given

Suttons and Sons is an example of the classic British fish and chip shop with more choice for type of fish than most others and excellent vegan options as well. A British classic with a Hackney twist! Not to be missed: The monkfish is absolutely delicious as is the more standard, classic cod. Among the vegan items, the battered sausage and the scampi are just amazing. Dine in or takeaway, other locations ... one in Stoke Newington and one close to Hackney Central. Pure fish and chip gold!
