Reviews of Tas Restaurant The Cut
E. S.
A great "Christmas pt. 2" meal here with the Allens. Staff shortage meant we had the fixed meal but this was tasty, varied and served by some friendly waiters. Thanks Tas.
S. M.
Lovely food, atmosphere and staff were really helpful. However a little expensive as a lunch option so i would consider again for dinner, it would be nice if a smaller option could be added for lunch (rather than a 2/3 course meal many would not have time for).
r. c.
Reasonable value for the 2 course menu but not elsewhere. The small 275ml (less than half a pint) lager for just under £5 is ridiculous. We ordered 2 hummus but had to ask for more bread as they only gave us one (£6 per portion) Also automatically adding 12.5% service charge is a practise that I don't think should be allowed.

This is a great Turkish restaurant. The food was gorgeous and the selection available was really good too. Selection of starters as a big group was perfect for trying lots of different bits. Difficult to chose a main because they all looked so good but I had the mixed kebabs and it was stunning. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was really good. For a central London location the price was very reasonable too
R. L.
Fantastic place. Went out for lunch with my collegues. This place was fantastic. The food was of good quality and freshly cooked. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the atmosphere was great. Definitely recommend trying this place out.
B. K.
Restaurant is in convenient location. Excellent service. I tried kalamar, borek as a starter. For a main course, I have gone for mixed grill, which was awesome! Highly recommended spot! Promise to come back again!

We've been eating in this Turkish restaurant for years, often after the theatre, but last night was our first visit for a couple of years and it was even nicer than I remembered. We're vegan and the menu didn't show vegan dishes (only vegetarian - hence only 4 stars from a vegan perspective) but the helpful waiter knew about vegans and helped us order the right stuff. The bread is now vegan and they kindly gave us salad instead of yoghurt with our turlu. The enginar (artichokes with broad beans and potatoes) was as delicious in reality as in my memory. If you like drinking salgam (pickle juice) theirs is worth trying. Looking forward to our next visit.

Great food and service at Taz. Just order lots of individual mezze, or go for a mezze and main. Really good variety and all delicious!
T. B.
A friend of mine invited me out for a meal before our show at the Old Vic theatre, and I was pleasantly surprised by superb cuisine, 10/10 customer services and no doubt, restaurant was in full capacity., buzzing with customers. Excellent place to eat out, chill out , meet friends…I even consider planning my Birthday party there. Well done everyone - thank you!
C. G.
We went there before a concert at the South Bank. If you're doing the same go early - we went at 5.30 when it was mostly empty but it was nearly full when we left at 6.30. Reasonably priced, excellent service and good food (a little too anglicised for my taste). I would thoroughly recommend.
H. G.
The food was heaven to our hungry stomach, starting from starter is always the best idea as they comes in a minuten and you will not have to wait for main course as it's follow up so quickly. The food was delicious and perfect for the tounge with 0 Extra seasoning or hotness. Chilli sauce is available too.
The Atmosphere was so comfortable and warmn, the staff will absolutely do anything to make you feel special.
I specially want to thank them for providing me a prayermate to perform prayer 🥰. Thank You
S. C.
We had a meal here on Saturday night, it was busy but the staff were welcoming and attentive, the service was quick and the food was really good and reasonably priced.
E. W.
Wide range of choices with many options for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. We had items from the set menu. Mixed starters then moussaka for one of us and calamari for the other. We both had soft drinks and tap water. Total bill was around £50. Not cheap but not terrible. They lose a star as the hummus was very nice (too much Tahini) and there was dill on too many items (I do not enjoy dill)
J. Q.
Good food. This was the second time we visited this restaurant and the quality of food is high. The only complaint was the menus. The normal menu is more extensive than the two offered this time round.
S. A.
We’ve been going to Tas for many years and it takes us 2 hours to get there, that’s how much we like it. I took someone there for the first time on Tuesday and the guy serving when we arrived at 4pm was so miserable. Because of our masks I couldn’t hear him properly so the order went wrong. I politely asked if we could rectify this and he was very abrupt and I thought quite rude. This happened on a few more occasions I went up for drinks. I was very upset as I had the new guest with me and as I’d raved over your restaurant it didn’t make a good impression. Later a young girl came on duty. What a difference! Smiling, polite, friendly and even put a biscuit with our coffee which didn’t happen on our 2 previous coffees. What a lovely girl. If I didn’t come to London to meet friends I would seriously think of not coming again because of the man that first served us. He made me feel we weren’t welcome there
A. H.
Great Mezze and the best Baklava I have ever tasted!! Good service despite being quite busy. Highly recommended!
A. H.
Had a meal at Tas restaurant, The Cut, London. Lovely mezze starters followed by chicken skewers, mixed grill and salmon pasta. Whole family enjoyed it. Great atmosphere and staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend.
S. F.
The food was good as was the service. We all enjoyed a family birthday occasion with nine members. The staff were happy to accommodate the birthday cake that my granddaughter brought with her. A happy place to dine.
D.
Delicious food with lots of veggie options available. Great service and lovely staff. Highly recommended!
B. W.
Good food, if a bit pricey.
The restaurant is a large open space with nicely spaced tables that aren't too close together. Staff is very friendly, if a bit clueless at times. There doesn't seem to be a particular staff member responsible for a table, you just flag down whoever you're able to catch attention from, so you might wait a little to order when it's particularly busy.
Food comes out fast and is really tasty, absolutely no complaints there.
They do add a 12.5% service charge, which seems to unfortunately become increasingly common in London.
D. K.
Very relaxed atmosphere and good food. I had a sort of lamb stew. It was delicious and not greasy as I've had at other restaurants.
S. C. R.
A bit disappointing, small portions. Mixed grill had 2 tiny pieces of lamb and chicken and some kofte, small bowls of chips. They brought out a little bowl of 5 olives at the start, 5! Veggie side dishes were tasty.
R. C.
It's was ok, I asked manager for recommendation on main. I was asked if I prefer meat or veggie, chicken or lamb. All good so far.
I said meat, of any type as long as it's lean, not fatty. I got fatty lamb so not happy.
My wife's chicken was lovely, but probably wouldn't go they're again.
K. M.
Great restaurant with wonderful food and service. Definitely come here again 😋
S. R.
Two kids and 3 adults seated within a few minutes @ 8:15pm on a Monday. Food came out quickly. Someone had a bday celebration; very short, courteous to others, yet enjoyable. Food was wonderful. Cheese was fresh. Hummus had nice texture and taste. Overall, great experience from such a small street cafe. Would have had more fotos-ate first before realizing this place should be promoted
G.
Varied menu, good table service, generous portions, great taste.
We opted for the special menu: starter of humus, olives and fresh Turkish bread; two mezze plates; main course; and glass of wine - £19.95. Plenty of choice on the menu: you are bound to find something that will appeal. Our meal was most tasty - I particularly liked the dish of fresh, green, broad beans served with yoghurt and fresh herbs. The Turkish house red was quite quaffable.
We did not book yet were seated without delay, late evening on a Monday: though I suspect a booking would be wise on a Friday or Saturday night. 10% service charge added to the bill. No free Wi-Fi.
A. G.
A very sound meal although service not at its speedy best and they had no idea about our booking!
But it's a good place.
M. L.
Good value set price menu. Limited drink range, but a long and large a la carte food menu. Fast service.
D. S.
Took our annoying toddler, staff were exceptionally helpful. Food very good and very good value. Thank you
C. F.
Fantastic quality, and very good service. Toilets were a bit of issue and I hope the problem has been sorted out since our visit.
J. B.
Went here tonight as a party of 6. From arrival to leaving the staff were so attentive and kind; patient and courteous. The food was exceptionally well cooked and prepared. We can't rate this place and the staff highly enough. Thank you for such a lovely evening as it was my wife's birthday; a perfect evening - thank you 👍👍✅✅
G. A. S.
Great Eastern European restaurant with delicious turkish dishes. Soups are always good and the food is pretty lovely. Staff is very attentive as well. Highly recommend this place!
L. O.
Okish food, service mediocre and run of the mill decor.
We still had fun, cos that's how we do.
Go back?
Only if it's the only place open
F. W.
I had a really good burger and red wine and a desert all dishes were excellent.
J. R.
Vegetarian main plate was not great, boiled vegetables with a few different flavours, bit of an afterthought and not much choice.
R. S.
Absolutely delicious fresh and high quality food. The restaurant looks smart and modern. Very clean and well cared for. Great choice of food with plenty of choice. This includes a lot for vegetarians, which I am not, but still like a lot of things Vege. Staff were friendly and well presented. Online booking system was easy and a good website. Checked them on food hygiene app before booking and 5 stars. Lovely experience will go again.
F. B.
Very friendly personnel, excellent service, mouthwatering cooked foods! Strongly recommended!
C. S.
Love this place. The set menu is amazing value (2 meze, a main and a drink for c. £24, plus lots of bread and olives when you sit down)and the staff are always incredibly friendly.
N. F.
Delicious Turkish food! Quick service and just convenient place just before going to old Vic theatre.
D. W.
Great food and speedy service. We have a non anofalactic chilli allergy and they catered for this with no problems. Had a really awesome dinner.
L. O.
Great location, spacious restaurant, good food food and atmosphere
C. F.
Excellent restaurant with good value food friendly staff good range of wines beers recommended if you are in the area and want something a little
S. B.
Delicious, authentic Turkish dishes, friendly service, relaxed ambience and all round enjoyable experience. Will definitely return!
D. T.
Great food and service. Very good value set menu.
S. C.
Food Good. Drinks fine. Only one quibble is the homous which was strangely liquid. However, staff nice and facilities clean.
U. M.
Broad range of starter choices, excellent service, eye-catching interior and exterior! Highly recommended!
D. F.
Great service, and selection of authentic Turkish food. So much on the plate too, really got our money's worth.
N. T.
A little expensive for the portion sizes but still nice food and good menu
C. C.
Very nice food and the service was excellent. Maybe it was because we were sitting downstairs, the atmosphere was a bit lacking.
J. E.
One of my favourite pre-theatre restaurants. Always a friendly welcome and consistently delicious lamb shish.
S. G.
Loved it. Nice to be out having dinner in a restaurant. First time since pandemic. Food was a glorious as ever. Highly recommend
M. T.
I cannot sing the praises of this Turkish restaurant highly enough - its location on The Cut completely prime, the food is the real showstopper. Would highly recommend getting a bit of everything and sharing, and you’re crazy not to order the lamb koftas and the honied calamari. Oh, and don’t forget a glass of their Turkish lager!
M. W. (.
Really good food. The place was full making it a bit noisy but that's also a good sign.
R. G.
A real delightful and friendly restaurant with a varied and very delicious menu
M. C.
My server went out the way to accommodate a food sensitivity (no bread) and complimentary hummus w/ vegetables instead. The hummus was probably the best I have ever had. The marinated chicken was also excellent. I also loved the purple cabbage side. This was one of the healthiest meals I had in London and it was obviously prepared by someone who cared.
I. E.
It was okay, pricey for what we ordered and the staff could have been friendlier.
A. M.
Lovely, buzzy vibe. Quick service, lovely food
E. L.
The food we ate were so deliciously yummy.. . My wife and kids were addicted to their food
C. G.
Had the lunch set menu, 2 courses plus a drink. Good value and lovely food.
S. T. K.
Had the set menu which gives you a little of everything. All was amazing a went down a treat.
C. R.
Absolutely loved this place - very friendly service, family like feeling! Tasty food, great meal deals, big portions, wonderful house wine. They also welcome families with small children and treat them very well. And some tasty free Turkish delights add a farewell gift (not every time). Also, lovely and cosy waiting area if there's no table for walk-ins.

The food was good but not value for money
P. R.
It was ok. Nice service but wouldn't return for the food.
K. L.
Lovely food, great service, nice atmosphere. Will definitely be back!
E. M.
The staff were welcoming; nice décor and prompt service. The menu offered a mixed meze to start. The dishes were delicious and we were offered a top up (not needed). We had a choice of several mains and although the menu wasn't extensive we were all able to choose something suitable. On the whole very nice, but I have been to better Turkish restaurants. The musician was brilliant!
E. F.
Lovely setting. Expensive in my opinion but I've not had the benefit of visiting for their lunch deal (I'm keen to try). The menu is authentic and desserts are to die for! They also stock Turkish wine. Service is efficient if nothing else.
T. P.
Tas is a very nice restaurant with typical delicious Turkish dishes. They have reduced their menu slightly due to Covid 19, but there are still plenty of dishes to cover all tastes. The prices are reasonable.
The social distancing is also catered for and you can sit inside or outside.
I can recommend a visit if you have not been before.
A. B.
Great food and outdoor patio and service but need to keep the wine in a cooler our red wine was super hot and felt like drinking a mulled wine.
M. J.
It's a nice place for gatherings and the food has the good original tastes.
S. A.
We had an immediate, well organised service for our group of 10. The food was perfect and served to the right people. The visit was a dip into a well-oiled machine where the staff all knew what they were doing and were clearly more than capable to handle extreme busy periods. Very impressed, would love to come again.
J. B.
Wow...this place is amazing. We had a lovely meal and drinks here.
A. G.
The service crew is too foreign for comfort. They couldn't understand what my British friends wanted specifically so they were messing up orders and the delivery of food and drinks. They were apologetic and nice but it was a bit inconvenient. The prices are a bit too steep for the quality of service. Food seemed "authentic" but lacked a bit of seasoning for my taste. The "Turkish" coffee was blah. Hummus was bland but interesting with lamb cubes. But, their bread could be so much better. Overall, not impressed.
J. S.
If you like Turkish food... eat here!
J. P.
Part of a small chain, Tas is a Turkish Restaurant. Lots of hummus, pitta and lamb. The food was perfectly pleasant without being spectacular, the decor felt a little hard, school-like. It’s quite a big venue but wasn’t so busy when I went. It was good value. Net/net is go again.
T. T.
Great Turkish restaurant with good food. The place is well run and clean. The menu is varied so lots to choose from. Their portion sizes seem to have reduced while prices have gone up so starting to get pricey.
V. D.
Chain but food was generally good and service efficient now. Lots of tables so a place to go to on the cut if it is last minute. Calamari could do without having sauce already on it, ruined as a result. Decent value for money so would go again depending on circumstances.
G. B.
Excellent Turkish meal. Very busy restaurant but the staff were so very attentive and friendly. No problem to take children despite our being so busy. Would definitely recommend advanced reservations. A short walk up from the South Bank (of the Thames), 10 minutes with children
M. B.
The meal was excellent. We had the Aslan menu, the meat was cooked to perfection. Chicken can normally come dry from a Grill but this was anything but, juicy tasty and the homemade chilli sauce. Wow!
The service was great, all waiter/ress that attended the table were attentive and happy to help.
I. B.
Very welcoming and so good to sit just inside from the outside dining area with a cool breeze. Delicious veggie lunch
C. R.
I love the food here. My wife, who has flown to the middle east on numerous occasions, thought the tabouleh, was among the best she had ever tasted. We ate from one of the set menus and had a glass of Malbec each. Good value too at under £50
J. L.
Even warmer welcome than in normal times, staff seeming to have time to be expansive while there were fewer covers. Food and drink as delicious and enjoyable as ever. Here's to 20 more years!
S. M.
My son's took us to Tas we all had a variety of Turkish dishes with some red wine . The place was full but we were still able to have a pleasant conversation and did not feel rushed. Priced were reasonable for London and I definitely will return.
J. H.
Superb food, attentive staff, lots of lovely free home baked bread. Had a lovely eve, recommend the chilli sauce on the side
R. B.
One of my favorite Turkish restaurants in London. I would recommend all their grills and lovely appetizers.
D. H.
all I am going to say is amazing
we frequent turkey and this place took me back there
M. M. V.
Average food. Reasonably priced set menu but starters came out cold as did bread. Bread came with no dips had to ask twice. Waiting staff average, seem to have lost their voices no pleases or thank you despite me being pleasant to them. Nobody asked how my food was and nobody seemed to really care. Sums it up well.
B. G.
Delicious food and great service. Really enjoyable lunch.
H.
We got tons of delicious food and drink, and the service was quite good. The restaurant is beautiful, too. I don't think either of us had ever had Turkish cuisine before, and we enjoyed it immensely. I had a ginger cocktail that was beautifully balanced, and some lime-blossom tea with honey. Even the stuff they serve with the bread (a sort of hummus-meets-tzatziki delight) was phenomenal. We ate upstairs, and they had the whole front of the restaurant open to the street until it got too chilly. I'm normally not much for a street view from a restaurant, but in this case, I liked seeing passers-by. It's a nice area.
A. P.
Very nice and helpful staff.
Can't comment on the food, as we only went in for drinks.
S. S.
This lovely rustic restaurant offers good food with a variety of selection ranging from vegeterian dishes to different meat dishes (chicken, lamb & beef).
The portions are well sized and at an affordable price, which is not to expensive nor too cheap.
Possibly one of the downside to the place was the fact that the tables are fairly close to each other, so if the restaurant is a bit full, it will not be a quite place to dine and enjoy your quiet time.
Would recommend this place to people who love to eat turkish food!
R. C.
We've made a reservation for 4 people in a Saturday evening. The food was very tasty and as soon as we ordered it, the dishes arrived quite fast. However, we were a group of friends doing a catch up and even though the tables were not fully booked, the staff was rushing us to ordered all the meals. As soon as we were finishing, they were asking all the time if we wanted anything. In the end, one of the waiters almost threw the desert menu on our table and was asking every 5 min if we were ready to order. Apart from that, I do recommend the place.
V. I.
Prompt service, affordable prices and extensive menu.
The food is okay. Not bad, not great. Just okay.
One of the dishes I ordered arrived almost cold.
The restaurant itself is quite big and around dinner time it was full and noisy. It's a good place for large groups.
L. H.
I come here from time to time as it's near to my work. Food is delicious, staff are very welcoming and friendly. I like that they are very careful with dietary requirements, and go above and beyond to make sure that I know what I'm eating and don't compromise my dietary needs. They have some very good vegan options in amongst their regular items, Just ask the staff.
L. G.
Very busy which is usually a good sign. Had attentive and friendly service, food was great, large choice and everything we had was very tasty and filling. Need to return to try more dishes.
D. M.
We didn't have a lot of experience with Turkish cuisine. The waitress made plenty of great suggestions. We enjoyed the food and things were reasonably priced for London. The ambiance of the restaurant could be a little more cozy but otherwise no complaints!
A. M. S.
Great food, especially the desert selection is worth going.
R. H.
Yesterday was the first time we visited this fine restaurant. But It is surely not the last time. We enjoyed the evening very much with the good service, with the magnificent dishes and booze and with the honest pay. We will no doubt return there again.
Z. P.
Came here with 2 friends for dinner. The first thing I noticed was how bright and lively it was, a sharp contract to everything being dark and gloomy outside.
Once we sat down, we were offered free humus, olives and Turkish bread, all of which tasted amazing. My favourite being the bread which was not only free but UNLIMITED, once you finish your bowl, they will go and replenish it for you. How awesome is that?!
The kitchen is next to the sitting area so you can see the chefs prepare your dishes, and even-though the place was extremely busy, the waiters and chefs all seemed very calm and efficient.
We ordered a mix of dishes such as mixed grill, grilled vegetables, kefta with drinks and it came to about £20 each which is pretty good.
I highly recommend you give this place a try, the only minor downside is that the humus is a bit expensive at £5 for a bowl. Still not too bad as the bread is free :)
A. P.
Excellent authentic Turkish food. It is hard not to order everything off the menu. Go for the meze options for starters and share with your table, the variety is fantastic.
J. D.
Great place! we've used Tas a couple of times for big team lunches and they've always been super helpful and accommodating. We've always really enjoyed the food and it's great value for money. Staff are super friendly and always happy to facilitate our needs. Thanks Cem and the team!
F. Ç.
good staff , delicious foods
F. A.
We had a really nice set menu , £24 per person with a range of mezze starters and a main each - mixed grill with cous cous, musaka, a and a cube of Turkish Delight when leaving. Lovely service
D. J.
Food is pricey but delicious.
The staff were all very nice and accommodating and made an effort to help everyone with their food requirements.
It's worth mentioning that I found the design of the restaurant striking.
H. B.
Great portions and smooth service.
R. L.
I had a wonderful time in this restaurant. We liked the amazing ambience and the menu. The staff members are super welcoming. I am glad we ultimately managed to visit this restaurant.
K. B.
Excellent service and great selection of Turkish cuisine. Thanks to Manager Sedat and his team.
A. F.
Average. Food looked well presented however there was a distinct lack of flavour and I felt it wasn't seasoned enough. Service ok but nothing special. My impression is that because of the passing foot traffic they don't have to try too hard. There are loads of good Turkish restaurants in London. If you have the time go to gokyuzu in green lanes. You will not be disappointed.
A. M.
Tasty, well-priced food and plenty of choice. Great for pre-theatre as service is quick and efficient. Bowls of complimentary olives, Turkish bread and yoghurt dip are great to nibble on while you consult the long menu. Consistently good.
A. W.
Dependable well cooked Turkish food with a variety of set menus which cover a wide scope of food offers at different prices, together with an a la carte menu.
Situated towards the Southwark end of the Cut away from the Old Vic and Waterloo. Usually quick efficient service. Very nice to go there at the quiter times of the day and enjoy a leisurely meal.
J. H.
The food here is very good and the prices are reasonable. The seating is a bit crowded together so when it's busy that can become a problem.
Food Allergy Review: a great place to go with a nut Allergy as all dishes which contain nuts are marked on the menu. This is particularly helpful for Turkish cuisine, as this is usually a problem.
J. B.
Great Turkish food in a relaxing and elegant atmosphere. Everything I tried was delicious, from the lentils soup, to the knife dessert, including the mezze platters in between: hummus, babaganoug, cacik, falafel, salad, halloumi cheese... the place is very nicely set up, overall modern and clean, with touches of Turkish influence and nice background music of different genres (yet all relaxing).
B. M.
I dined here with a dear old friend. The food was very good. The dessert made with figs and ice-cream was yummy but it was not presented as well as it is in the branch in fetter Lane. Also this restaurant gets very noisy when it is busy.
V. S.
This Turkish restaurant is in a good location. I went there 3 years ago and it was great but something has changed and the food was terrible this time, in August 2018! The service also left something to be desired. There are many other great restaurants in London. I wouldn’t waste my time going there.
A. 1.
Another fine meal in this apparently flagship restaurant of the Tas chain. The weekday special set menu provides two starters and glass of wine per person with a main course for just £20. This truly represents excellent value for a restaurant marginally south of central London. Recommend the kuzu lamb shish with couscous and Tas' excellent chilli sauce.
J. M.
Always a pleasure, I've been going to Tas since it first opened. The staff and management are lovely and accommodating and sometimes make small gestures (e.g. free sample starter or dessert) that elevate the experience. Very friendly to children and babies. Food is wonderful and varied. Worth straying from the usual items on the menu, I've yet to be disappointed.
S. M.
Good food and a great atmosphere.
T. M.
If you're looking for some quality Turkish cuisine experience, this is the spot. It's a chain restaurant and there aren't any major differences between the branches so the food is great everywhere. It's traditional, mostly lamb and veggies, all of it amazing.
A. K.
Tasty. Mezze for two was a perhaps not the best value but delicious and really nice service. Great Covid protocls, felt safe with staff wearing masks and tables arranged well.
A. M.
Turkish restaurant close to Waterloo. The place was full but they still managed to find a table for the 10 of us. First we were offered a set menu, but we asked for the a la carte and they said that was fine. The chefs works behind a counter in the same room as your are eating in, so you see everything that is being prepared and smell it as well. I thought the service was very quick and staff was very friendly and attended to our every need. The Kebab Aubergine dish I had was really tasty, prepared for British taste buds in mind so spicy sauce was optional.I'd say go with the spicy sauce. Turkish delight served on the way out.
M. m.
We booked at the last moment and were told we only had just over an hour to eat before we would have to vacatevour table. Thefood was good and tasty but the soup we had ordered came to the table tepid. This was heated and brought back to the table promptly. We had to wait a while for our main courses which meant we were over our deadline but nothing was mentioned! Staff were pleasant and efficient.
F. R.
Lovely food and service. The mezze sharing platter was delicious!
C. H.
The restaurant is nice and vibe is good. Wasn't too pleased with the mixed grill we ordered, overpriced plate for few skewers. They add a service charge of 12.5% to your bill which didn't seem to be optional? I'd rate it 3 stars for it's fast service, nice seating and the mezze's
C. W.
Amazing lunch deal which was excellent value and good choices. I wasn't drinking as it was a working lunch but my guests confirmed they were happy with their choices. We sat out on the street in the sunshine and didn't feel like we were too close to the road. Great location.
C. B.
A lovely meal and great service.....
M. O.
It was ok at best. I had the Iskender, it was alright but I've had it much better elsewhere. The waiter mixed up the drinks order twice and I paid a small fortune for a tiny bottle of cider. If you want turkish there are much better options around London.
M. B.
Food is yummy. Plenty of options to choose from although majority are lamb dishes. Staff were very lovely. Thank you for a fab evening ❤️
N. L.
I'm a fan of this chain, if I'm looking for somewhere to eat before the theatre, they'll often get my custom. Love Turkish food, though i guess because it's a chain it can feel a little soulless. One can't always be traipsing up to Green Lanes though, so I'm very glad Tas exists.
R. S.
Lovely food, great mezze, some interesting other dishes. Always buzzing and vibrant atmosphere. Reasonable prices, although the Turkish house red is a little ropey....
a. d. c.
Very good place, I recommend Kunefe dessert, probably one of the best desserts I had so far
P. W.
Great restaurant, friendly staff and good surroundings. The food was spot on as always, one of my favourite places to take the family
J. S.
Very busy place but the food was quite good and staff did their best despite the crowds of people. It could be better if they took out a couple of tables here and there to give some extra space. Weve been a couple of times now and always the same experience. I particularly like the chicken wings. Its always clean here and the docor is fresh.
L. A.
Highly recommended for turkish food lovers!
At the beginning the person who guid us to our table wasn't good at all.
But, the person who serve us was so kind (his name is paplu). The food was really fresh and tasty. We enjoyed our meal and it was nice day ending after long day!

Tas restaurants are located all around London. Well known for their classic and modern Anatolian cuisine, they're an iconic brand offering that much loved Turkish hospitality that has been appreciated by many for over 20 years. Always spot on with their food and guaranteed a great evening or lunch.
D. C.
It's a nice pre-restaurant eatery. The set menu was good with a nice range of dips and they were flexible with our vegetarian requirements. The staff were friendly too.
N. F.
I loved this place, it's funny that a Turkish restaurant ended up being the best food I had in London (gotta love this about London).
Make sure to get reservation before going on busy nights, the restaurant is seated and a little formal, but it is not too pricy to try (70 pounds for two with three courses and wine and beer!)
Must tries:
Collection of meze palters for sharing, turkish beer on tap they have have a combo of beer and two starters and one main course per person which is plenty of food, and sharing is caring!
In addition to this, we had Baklava desert, far better than the ones I've had in the US (almost as good as back in the Levant!) they also have a great wine menu and good service.
Overall, I really liked this place, my favorite restaurant in London, and best thing is that it has several locations making it easier to find one close to you when in London.
Highly recommended.
M. M.
The food was excellent and good equality and the staff were very friendly.
The chocolate cake portions were a bit small and you needed really eyesite to spot the cream on the chocolate cake Lol.
T. L.
Offers good set menu options with fix prices. More upscale than typical middle eastern joints but still a casual atmosphere. We enjoyed the food and service was good.
J. W.
Nice meal n plenty to eat. Wine was warm..room temp in high 20s C isn't a good idea. We asked for ice but didn't get it and it was a quiet Monday night.
J.
The food was really nice. The staff could be a bit more enthusiastic though. One of the waitresses was a bit on the grumpy side and had to be called a few times to do her job. I'd still go back.
U. Z.
Always a lovely and welcoming atmosphere at this place, child friendly. Can be busy on Friday's and theatre days, not sure if its halal but the vegetarian option is exceptional.
L. C.
Lovely evening! Waiter was brilliant and very funny! Even the rain didn't stop us!
M. A.
Ordered twice from tas via deliveroo! Food is always yummy and they send the best Turkish delights with your order for free! I am not a big fan of Turkish delights but theirs are so good i cant stop havinf them! They also have the best bread! Food is always fresh and yummy
M. L.
6 hour lunch 5 bottles of red, good experience for all 4 of us
C. C.
Great Restaurant ... Located next to the Old Vic and Young Vic . Very busy before theatre starts ... Had the menu with 2 starters, main and drink for £20 which is great price and taste
N. A.
I had a tabbouleh, potato salad, mixed salad and fresh mint tea. The portions were very large, enough to feed two people perhaps. Definitely recommend as a place to stop for lunch; whether a leisurely meal or a quick snack.
E. B.
Absolutely love it here! The food is wonderful and great value. The hummus especially is amazing. Book in advance as it gets busy. Highly recommend.
H. B.
Very fast service is exactly what you need from a restaurant serving the theatre crowd, and the staff at Tas had us served and the bill paid in under 45 minutes. Perfectly OK food, nothing exceptional but by no means bad.
B. A.
Amazing service and food. Staff was very friendly. The food was very fresh and delicious. The desserts were also very delicious. I like everything very much.
L. M. T.
The best Food and customer service
J. G.
A huge Turkish restaurant under a railway arch off The Cut. It seems to cater for large groups from local offices as well as smaller parties. The food is good, workmanlike Turkish food and worth a trip if you are in the area.
S.
Amazing food and service, just only downside is the expensive price, but it is expected for the area it is in and quality. Would 100% recommend.
R. C.
Generous portions of tasty Turkish food at a reasonable price in a spacious environment, which is a particularly convenient location for the Young Vic and Old Vic. The borek and broad beans we had were especially good.
j. m.
Very good. Meat cooked to perfection.
F. K.
Had a great experience here, food was good but not mind blowing. Found the service to be really good, attentive staff and super friendly.
M. P. J.
I went today with my family after a long time. We used to go with my husband there before having kids. We have an autistic daughter who can't sit quietly for long and the staff was very friendly and patient. We didn't get any looks or comments and they were very accommodating.
M. S.
Excellent Turkish restaurant!
Based on some decent web reviews we visited TAS this evening before going to the OLD Vic THEATRE
We had a lovely meal, with fresh tasty food in generous serves and decebr Turkish red wine by the glass to alsi enjoy
Could NOT fault the place - highly recommended
W. R.
Food, atmosphere, service all good! We met 12.30 on a Friday, was not crowded....thoroughly enjoyed our lunch
M. S.
The food was ok here but when you go downstairs to the loo you suddenly think 'I don't think I'll come back here'. The loos stink of sewage and there was a member of staff (dressed in those chef-type things) asleep on a bench, as well as a right old mess of chairs and tables. Not good.
Z. C.
Decent place. Some friendly staff there. Food is quite nice too. Should have mixed platter options proportionately as well
K. E.
Very nice middle Eastern, Turkish/Lebanese restaurant. Great selection of foods, good for vegetarians. I'd recommend 👌
K. K.
Great location for really good food. .. did not though that we will find that good food for that money we paid. ..Thank you very much. .next time we are in London we will come again for sure. ..:-)
P. C.
Liked the vast choice on ala carte menu, but went for the Skin 2 courses + wine. Good to be able to see the kitchen and while busy still able to get a table
D. A.
Great food and excellent staff who were very nice and polite! :)
R. S.
Liked the food. Place is very busy and mostly full. Tried many dishes and all were to the mark. Definitely will recommend this place.
S. G.
Menu perhaps a bit too expansive, as dishes seemed to come out at all different times on a lazy saturday lunch. Food was tasty, if a bit overpriced, and service was friendly but a little slow.
G. E.
Good food but irritatingingly let down like so many places these days with an underhand 12.5%= service charge , if you're charging for food why do you need a service charge?
Shame really as I'd have gone back otherwise
E. B.
Such great value. Really delicious food. Slightly confused by so many menu options, but ambiance, food, wine, all great.
H. G.
Great place!! Fantastic service and food. Very popular so either make a reservation or go early in the evening.
A. B.
Amazing food! Great service! I left something at the restaurant and the staff posted it to my home! Amazing! We will be back!
Y. M.
Good value for money. Portions are very generous, good sharing menus available. Food is great the staff not so much.
G. C.
My daughter and I, decided on this restaurant on the way to the 02, great stop , fab food, menu choice great, fast and efficient service, very friendly. Food wonderful.
M. S.
The food is good. The service is fine. But for me it is not a relaxing venue. The music is too loud and it's hard to have a conversation.
C. S.
It's the best lamb that I ever had. Go and try Incik ( lamb shank ). The service was great and friendly, they made as feel like at mom's home.
Thank you Tas!
A. K.
I was impressed with this busy restaurant and will go there again. Tasty Turkish food. Nice bustling atmosphere. Very efficient service.
N. Y.
Good value at £13.95 for a 2-course set dinner, but the quality was average, and the wait for dishes was a tad long for the quality of food you get.
D. W.
Reliably good food. The waiting staff got a bit confused with when we wanted out door (meze for some while others had mains) probably because they were a bit rushed.
L. G.
It is nice but it could be trading a bit on its name
As 2 ladies having dinner the service was not good as they were concentrating on bigger parties but the food is nice
So as an overall experience it was only ok
G. T.
Busy Friday evening. We all had the meze + main course menu, wine and desserts. All delicious and very good service. I recommend.
G. W.
Great selection of meze, grilled meat and fish, casseroles and vegetable dishes. Also a decent selection of set menus.
The food was good - very flavourful and fresh - and decently priced.
T. F.
Went in a large group, lots of food but quality was not the best. Service was... OK. (they were busy... But then should plan for that on Saturday night)
A. B.
Great service plenty of food
M. R.
Great food. Friendly service. Amazing ambience especially in summer when the doors are opened out into the patio.
S. L.
I love their soups, all I had were delicious. Also there are delicious turkish dishes. I can recommend
C. M.
Food is really great. Service was a bit slow, but they were really busy. I would recommend going and try out the good food
M. R.
Lovely setting and delicious food with decent set menu details. V close to Waterloo theatres so great for a pre or post theatre meal
K. F.
Good Mediterranean food, well cooked, albeit prices have hiked over the past years £6-7 starters, £11-16 mains but worth a visit.
R. B.
Great Turkish food, friendly and attentive staff, very reasonably priced, especially their set menu deals.
L. M.
tasty food, good value for money, attentive waiters. Lots of bread and dip which was included in price, give this place a try
M. S.
Nice Mediterranean food and always busy which must be a good sign. Great breads and humous, unlike you buy in the supermarket.
P. G.
Good price for a more than decent food. Excellent calamari , chicken wings or lamb with cous cous. Efficient staff.
R. P.
Good portion size at a reasonable price. Good flavours - the lamb stew was exceptional.
t. l.
V/good
J. B.
Great food and staff! Could have a better beer selection
A. H.
Great food, good service. A little crowded for our Christmas meal but will definitely return for more delicious food.
F. E.
Excellent service and amazing food.
M. E.
Great good, friendly staff and very clean and tidy. Only small critism is the lack of space. Tables very close to each other.
T. P.
Very bustly but pleasant experience. Speed of service was not impacted by how full the restaurant was! Food was very good too.
W. S.
Food here is amazing if you like Turkish cuisine. The service here is beyond exceptional and has a nice character and vibe in the evenings.
J. T.
The vegetarian food is very tasty and great value! The place lacks atmosphere but it's a good option for lunch or a simple weekday dinner nevertheless.
L. H.
Good food and plenty of it. We had the set menu and real variety and easy to share
M. N.
Nice.
A. U.
It was a very pleasant experience with lovely waiting staff. Food was delicious, customer service was great and desert was 10/10.
A. A.
They have the most delicious Turkish food. Their waiters are really friendly and welcoming.
P. S.
Fabulous Turkish cuisine. Melt in your mouth Kalamar. This restaurant has a lovely ambience. Very professional.
R. M.
The service was excellent - quick and efficient. Unfortunately the food was okay, but fairly bland.
T. H.
Nice Turkish restaurant. Friendly service, food good but not amazing. Fairly fast service.
C. O.
Great food prices and portions. Social distancing managed well as well as good hygeine
S. S.
The restaurant was buzzing, the food was very tasty and reasonably priced. The beer was a bit expensive.
F. C.
Come here everytime I come to London! The food is delicious, the staff is awesome and super quick! Highly recommend it!
K. F.
Good, quick and affordable. Just what we needed pre-theatre. Had the mixed grill, which was tasty and filling.
M. K.
Great food, to all reviewers that put down its slow go to McDonald's we don't all need to rush!!! Lovely staff, surroundings, food xx
Y. P.
the food was great (we had the seafood as mains) but service was average and definitely NOT deserving its 12.5% service charge for 2 persons (average restaurant in UK would request for 10%).
I. G.
Perfect venue for an informal lovely lunch. Great service and food in comfortable spacious surroundings.
S. M.
Interesting, tasty food. Lots of selections to choose from. Waitstaff was not very personable, but did their job.
K. O.
Spacious restaurant, great service and delicious food! Venue conveniently accessible by public transport.
S. R.
Really lovely meal & service first time there wi defiantly go again might take my Turkish friends
P. b.
Quick service and delicious food, Recommended 😀
J. B.
Overpriced for what it is - the food was underwhelming. I would suggest trying out other places before settling on Tas.
w.
Always a nice dish and decent service. If wine came anywhere between 175ml and 750ml i'd offer 5*
S. I.
Great variety of options and prices for all purses. Tbh was a little greedy so couldn't finish but everything was delicious
S. B.
Good for a quick lunch. Lunch is great value, normal a la carte less so
R. R.
I like it. The staff was very friendly and food was good. I would go back again.
A. G.
Amazing food, great portions, quick and efficient service, and very polite staff. Will be back for more!
K. A.
Good variety of food with right prices. Enjoyed the cream filled apricots for dessert!
J. M.
Good quality food at reasonable prices. Good atmosphere. Situated close to the Southbank and theatres.
J. G.
Great food and service. Set menu is a decent price for a quick meal.
H. N.
Food, environment and staff all were spot on. Definitely try
N. J.
Food, ambiance and service is good but price is little high and quantity of few items is little less as compare to others
S. M.
one rainy day after seeing s how at the globe, a bunch of us ran into tas pide and what good fortune that was as that turkish food is excellent, especially the turkish style pizza.
l.
The food is great. The service was lacking care and attention - waited a long time for food when it was quiet.
M. D.
Very popular. Large mezes selection but not great wine. Interesting but not my favourite food.
C. F.
Great!
J. W.
ev's (south bank, under railway arches near main tas restaurant): deli cafe, excellent selection of almost entirely vegetarian salads - kisir is amazing!
S. A.
Nice restaurant but Don't have full Turkish food variety like I enjoy in Capital Restaurant Edmonton.
J. S.
It’s ok, we had the group menu as we was a party of 12. Nothing special and the main was bland.
T.
Food was great especially the meze. Staff were really friendly but the service is very slow
L. W.
Well priced and nice food -great for a simple night out or pre-theatre.
A. D.
Great tasting mezes at a decent price. Definitely coming back for a full meal.

M. W.
Nice food and friendly service
B. R.
Great place to eat. Great selection of Turkish food.
M. K.
The food and service was excellent, you have a 12.5% service charge which is worth it, this then eliminates the need to leave a tip.
D. P.

C. R.
Chose this place for a catch up with a dear friend. Lovely meze dishes and great atmosphere

Always a nice dish and decent service. If wine came anywhere between 175ml and 750ml i'd offer 5*
M. O.
It was ok at best. I had the Iskender, it was alright but I've had it much better elsewhere. The waiter mixed up the drinks order twice and I paid a small fortune for a tiny bottle of cider. If you want turkish there are much better options around London.
M. K.
Great food, to all reviewers that put down its slow go to McDonald's we don't all need to rush!!! Lovely staff, surroundings, food xx
