Overall decent food. I wouldn’t choose the platter next time will go for individual starters instead. The beef in black bean pepper sauce (hopefully got the name right) was as expected but too much salt in this dish, otherwise nice. Tom Yum was decent. This is my first visit will be back to try the rest soon.

Just popped by because we was hungry. We love Thai food and we ordered steamed sea bass as we had it before at a 5 star Thai restuarant so we wanted to try the local one here. Our dish was tasty but there was few problems with the food. I found a piece of hair in the rice.. The lady that served us apologised and brought fresh plate of rice straight away. The fish dish was delicious but sadly it wasn't piping hot it was lukewarm, but me and my husband really enjoyed it as it was packed with flavours and it went well with the rice. The main downside to this dish was that there were too many bones to pick out which was really annoying.. It would've been much better if they cleaned the bones out the fish and served it as a fillet otherwise the dish was nice! And price is a little bit high. Definetely need some improvement 👍

Read the reviews of this place, decided to try it out, because we love Thai & Malay food. It was quite in the dining in section, but busy on takeaways. The Deco was dated. Tom yum soup was ok but had better in East London. The service was very good. I would have given 4 stars if the taste of the food was better.

Tried this place out and was not expecting anything great - as not many places i visit for a Thai Green Curry live up to my high expectations - but to my surprise, this place actually does. i've Been here twice, both times the thai green curry had lots of flavour and made to my spice liking (Very Spicy). On the second visit, I also tried the Crispy Beef - which had lots of flavour and was very enjoyable to eat. Plenty of parking on the side roads after 6:30pm, making for easy collection/takeaway orders.

Excellent food, suitable prices. I prefer spicy hot food so perfect for me but, may be a bit too hot for some people. Also, i recomment any of their several chowmein dishes. Other dishes are good. The prawn dishes are slightly more expensive which is fine but dont expect a lot of prawns. Their combined starter is a bit on the expenive size in comparision to other items.

Delicious authentic Thai cuisine, big portions and great value for money! Not to mention the lovely and hardworking Malaysian waitress who served us. The restaurant is relatively small and could perhaps benefit from a bigger place, but otherwise would definitely recommend to friends and family.

It's not a posh restaurant, so don't expect the interior to be perfect. Just a nice friendly local place you can go to get some good food for a reasonable price. Exactly what I wanted. Great little restaurant.. Lots of variety to choose from. I would say the food was average, service was great. Restaurant was not busy at all. If you craving, its worth a trip. Parking on side roads after hours free. Starters platter with 2 mains and drink was around £39.

Clay pots are the best, love them. Always crave them. Malaysian tea was lovely. Starters we had weren't really good value for money, avoid the cheesy chilli chips, tiny portion. Rough diamond kinda place.

This is one of the only restaurants I've found to make crab rangoon. Luckily it's excellent, I come specially to Thainese when I'm in the area just to place an order. My one complaint is that the prawn toast seems to have changed since my last visit, it used to have generous prawns. Now there's none at all or maybe just a cheap paste, not worth the money or bother.

I've had Thainese three or four times, trying different things each time, and it's always great. The portions are always plentiful, the staff are friendly and it's great value for money. And the food is da bomb💥💥🤤🤤🤤🔥🔥!! It's not exactly gourmet - it's simple and superb Chinese, Thai and Malaysian food. Though the restaurant itself is comfortable enough, they don't serve booze and I get the impression its mostly a takeaway joint. If you find yourself in the Stow and you want some proper good scran near the station, do yourself a favour and walk the few extra metres to the petrol station and get yourself a succulent Thainese meal. You will not regret it fam, trust. x

I booked a last minute booking for my daughters 14th birthday with 1 hours notice and was accommodated without any fuss. Moreover, we ended up with 6 extra guest turning up an hour later. Everyone was accommodated for. The service was perfect and food was amazing. We all ordered without any stress as whole menu is halal and catered for all age groups and levels of spice lovers. The ambience is calm and tranquil and the best part is that it has its own prayer facilities. Also as we went after 7pm we had no issues with parking as there was ample parking available on the side roads. In a nutshell lovely service, great staff amazing food and a great night out with the family. Thank you Thainese for making my daughters 14th Birthday perfect. 😊

Had a takeaway from Thainese earlier, great stuff. Not perfect, the satay is poor, about equivalent to what you'll get out of a box from Iceland, wouldn't recommend. The main dishes were all excellent though; flavourful, spicy without being overpowering, and not oversweetened (most Thai/Chinese places seem to dump half a bag of sugar in everything).

We thought with the prices for a takeaway we were paying we would get tasty food, using good quality ingredients. When we saw the sizes of the portions, we thought we are definitely getting quality over quantity. Alas the 4 dishes merited a mere 6 out of 10 overall. I've had far cheaper takeaways that produced better tasting food with not noticeably inferior ingredients. Will wait for the sit-in to open again. Definitely wont be getting a takeaway from there, not even free prawn crackers.

Based on the reviews we got some takeaway for the first time from this restaurant today. The first impression was good and the staff was very friendly. We got chicken satay, hot & sour soup, crispy beef and schezhwan chili chicken. So here is our view on each of the dishes. The hot & sour soup was just ok. It was not bad tasting but nothing authentic about it. The satay chicken was dry and below average. The crispy beef was not crispy as it was in a bit of sauce and was sweet, which we didn't expect it to be. Lastly the schezwan garlic chili chicken was just average. Basically, none of the dishes ticked the box for us. Will probaly give it one more try in future just to give it a benefit of doubt.

I’ve visited Thainese a number of times, with family (including a fussy father!), friends and a huge foodie of a husband. Needless to say, the food has never disappointed, everyone has loved every dish they had! Everything on the menu seems to be delicious, no matter what you choose, you can bank on the fact that it will be an amazing experience. The service is dedicated and attentive, and nothing is too much trouble! Everything is cooked fresh, so it might be a little wait, but it is 100% worthwhile! This review is well overdue, we’re looking forward to being able to visit again soon... might be tempted to start ordering to collect otherwise!!

We went to this restaurant on Sunday to pick up the seasonal special they were selling, keropok lekor, karipap and beef meatballs. We had some fried to eat on the way and the lekor was so delicious it reminded me of my childhood years in Malaysia - they were made fresh and perfectly chewy and crispy at the same time. I was overjoyed with it, the karipap was also delicious filled with beef and potatoes. The lovely man and lady working there were wonderfully kind. I can say I smelt something delicious cooking from the kitchen and it was mamak mee goreng - if dine in were allowed back in UK I would definitely have ordered it but we lived too far in South London and it would have been too long a journey to eat the noodles. The mee goreng smelled deliciously authentic! Terima kasih, we really will come back!

We just had chicken curry and nasi lemak tonight from Thainese - so happy as I never thought there would be a good Malaysian restaurant this side of London!! The food is authentic, portions are v generous and, special mention, the sambal for the nasi lemak was out of this world - I feel like I'm back in Malaysia at the moment! Have communicated directly with Effendi who works there and he's really friendly! He makes special order keropok lekor (for those of you craving it - like me)! We can't wait to try more and more of the food. Hot tip: order direct and get a discount + free delivery. We got our food in less than 40 mins despite what it says on the website, so that was fabulous!!! All round would recommend.

Their crispy beef is a little sweeter than expected but their sweet and sour chicken was a big hit with the kids. Their noodles were also tasty with them not skimping on portions or meat content. I would have given 5 stars rating if it wasn't for the way this young man, (one of the managers) treated when we got there. Before I went there, I called him 3 times to ask questions. Then I booked a table for 6 people but when we all got there from different locations I found out that we were actually 7 instead of 6. For that reason, this young man was a bit rude and unprofessional to the point of my wife, mother in law and sister in law feeling very unwelcomed there. We just wanted to walk out and never come again. However we decided to stay and the rest of the service was excellent, the food was great and this young man ended up changing his attitude towards us. For this reason I rated my experience 4 stars. I believe in the future, all he had to say was, "you booked for 6 but you are 7, I'll see what I can do but no guarantees." He ended up accommodating us and we still had an empty seat at our table.

Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience. The starters were delicious and so were the main courses. Staff were attentive and very accommodating in service; however one thing we felt was that the Thai-green curry (khang Khiaw-wan) was not as authentic tasting as we would have hoped and a possible change in the recipe would mean there were would be no flaws (for us) at Thainese.

My partner and I know South East Asia very well for spending a lot of time travelling around but we've always found it tricky here in London to get the thai / malay quality food we had experienced there. Tonight we ordered from Thainese. It was a bit of a random choice as we had tried loads of other options in the area and were never satisfied. We were seriously impressed! Came here with a group of friends on a Wednesday evening. The staff here were all very friendly and accommodating. We were quickly seated (it was empty inside but lots of takeaway orders!). The duck pancakes were very generous and half a duck could feed 5 people. We got free prawn crackers which were also tasty, and my main of sweet and sour chicken with egg fried rice was perfectly cooked and plentiful. No complains whatsoever! I'd definitely come here again.

Ordered via just eat. Took just over an hour to arrive which is expected on a Friday evening. Sweet and sour chicken was decent. Good amount of chicken pieces but the actual dish could have been bigger considering the price. The kung pao chicken was bland to be honest, no taste whatsoever, was very watery, almost like a soup with onions and peppers to taste, again portion of chicken was good but dish size was too small. Coconut rice was okay but felt a little crumbly. Overall, not a bad restaurant with a good selection of food, but let down by certain dishes and price. This is Walthamstow.

Good food, good service and a good atmosphere. All available at a very good price. Sounds like an advert, but that's exactly how it was for us. We've had a takeaway from this place before which we enjoyed. Therefore we thought we would try the dining out this did not disappoint. A large selection of Thai, Chinese and Singaporean dishes as well as a grill menu. Something for everyone. We had mainly Chinese dishes ( not many Halal Chinese places that offer a variety of different dishes around) which were well received and enjoyed by the family. The service was spot on. The waiting was attentive without the interruption to ask how things were. We would visit again.

Visited the restaurant with my family and absolutely loved the food. The menu offered a fanstastic range - spoilt for choice really! All the food was freshly made; so definitely well worth the wait. The kids meal arrived first which was great I thought, as less fuss when we are eating and can really enjoy the meal. We ordered the Thai fish cakes for starters - really liked the sauce dip as well. Been past this place loads of times ....well first Impression is it needs a good renovation. Food menu had a variety of dishes and that's impressive....our dishes were good but not wow they were edible and nothing bad but would have loved a more uplifting taste. The staff was nice and there is a prayer room in the back which I thought was fantastic .. A nice renovation some new tables and a menu with more simpler choice with good pictures and a fresher tasting experience would be a excellent place. They have parking literally mins from the restaurant free after 6.30pm. A good restaurant manager maybe some extra colouring books for kids or a slide and swing in the back would be a bonus. Lol.

2018 - ordered prawn in butter with noodles - unfortunately, the price doesn't compliment the taste or portion size. Wasn't to my taste buds. My mother ordered sea bass in fish sauce - she didn't like the sauce at all - again very pricey. So changing my rating from 5 to 3 for prices. Visited this place on Monday evening. The mixed starters and the wings wasnt that good didnt enjoy it much nothing special however the mains were really good. The chicken pad thia (think i got the name right) was the highlight. For the price it is worth a repeat visit, we enjoyed the mains however the biggest issue i found was parking as its limited and only free after 6.30pm. Thats something the restaurant cant do anything about i guess.

My partner and I ate here on a Friday evening for date night. The wait was almost 1 hour to be served. By the time the food came my wife whose sick started becoming dizzy. We had starter of spring rolls and prawn rolls. The prawn rolls were ok but very oily and sickening. I had duck which i will admit was nice and wife had thai curry. She told me it was too spicy and had these stranges vegetables inside . The mango lassi was very delcious I would give the experience 3.5 for overall nice place. The waiters were apolegtic but the waiting time is so long. When your hungry waiting time is annoying.

Average food, nothing special. Prices are decent. Excellent service. Veg Spring Rolls were tasty, crisp and fresh. We had duck with pancakes. Duck wasn't too bad but pancakes came in a plastic bag rather than the usual wooden container. Didn't look appetising. Also had lemon chicken, but too heavily soaked in lemon juice. Rice dishes were standard as were the drinks. Beef Rendang tasted ok, but the colour was a very dark brown instead of the usual red that I normally expect from beef rendang. Overall, was very average, wouldn't go out of my way to revisit, but prices are decent for what you get and portion sizes are sufficient.

It came out within 5-10 minutes!!! They obviously just gave the previous one and smothered it with black pepper. They recooked the crab which made the crab meat tough.
