Great customer service from one of the girls who has come over from sister branch Stax, with a laid back style of service that's not rapid but not slow either (most likely because there's often only one or two people behind the counter at a time). On the whole, tasty wings and accompaniments in a pleasantly restrained menu.
As you'll see from the photos, The Famous Flames is styled more like Stax than Boondocks and just as cramped. It has 15 seater on bar stools and shared bench tables - but thankfully wasn't busy at a time that Stax would certainly be, though that is probably going to change as word spreads. Essentially, you can expect the same almost forced social space interaction where the food is a little more important than your complete comfort.
The upside to the location and focus on the slightly more modest menu item is that regulars from Bea Vo's other restaurants will find the prices somewhat more reasonable (approx £5 per head cheaper). That's probably down to the smaller menu, smaller burger sizes with fewer add-ons, and lack of cocktails.
However, the folks behind this place do seem to think hard about their offerings all the same: they told us how they've pulled their renowned maple glazed beef bacon as a burger topping (sacrilege!) because it didn't work well with their new buns and are testing out more suitable alternatives.
The buffalo wings are just like those in Boondocks and just as well balanced with the blue cheese sauce, and the garlic and parmesan a very welcome alternative that eschews spice. However, the highlight for me was the cheese-covered waffle fries - they are very addictive and a great side that I highly recommend.
The only minor knock is that the place's more modest approach probably demands a slightly more modest price structure than is offered, particularly when compared to other Camden-based alternatives at a generally lower price point for good light options. Other than that, it'll be my go-to for a quick bite of good American fare that I trust.

The wings were not bad. Garlic parmesan was great and the spicy Nashville wasn't that spicy to me but had good flavour. The cheesy fries was bad! Diluted cheese sauce = no taste at all. And the fries were soggy.

The Beef burger was terrible, no flavour, bland, just yuck.
The habanero were delicious. Can’t get enough of them. Thinking of actually going there now. Is it too late, is it still open? It’s just before the holidays. Hmmmmmmmm

Having eaten wings on five continents and including buffalo wings in Buffalo, NY, I can say these wings are legit. Go eat here. Crispy, not greasy (unlike that odd one star review below), did they eat at the same place or bring their own food in?

Nice food. Wings were slightly overcooked, but we went really late just before they were closing so I'd say they may have rushed it abit. Otherwise, both the burgers and food tasted wicked.

I came during the soft opening and was impressed enough to come back a little while later and pay full price for a meal.
It’s not fancy, it’s wings and fries and it’ll come in a cardboard box, but they do seem to use good chicken and take time with their sauces. Their buffalo sauce is good, definitely reminds me of similar wings had across the states, and their blue cheese, while a little runny, packs some flavour. I opted for waffle fries and was not disappointed, fresh and hot, they had that wonderful crisp exterior and soft interior.
While you could go to the normal fried chicken place and get a box for a couple of quid, I suggest you try here and see what the difference is.

Awesome burgers, stax of Camden level burgers but they taste different, maybe they flame them is why!
Love the nacho cheese on the fries, can't go wrong with this place!
Wings are crazy different, try em out they have @ few old favours.
Lovely friendly staff!
Chairs are a bit high and more of a takeaway place.
Will share future pictures of burgers as i take them!
Windows open up wide during the summer so you can get the whole feel outside but with shelter!

My favourite restaurant at the mometn. Best burgers I have ever had in london! Largest variety of wings flavours I have ever seen. The shops atmosphere is so warm and American and the staff are really nice and friendly. Highly recommended by a very satisfied customer!.

Chicken was great. Cheeseburger not so much. Best stick to the chicken to avoid any disappointment

Now! On the top of my list of Burger places is "The Famous Flames". Absolutely delicious burger, on Saturday I poped to kill my hunger and I left with my heart full of love for the cheesy waffle fries and the bacon burger I had. And Alana was the funniest waitress I ever had. Definitely recommending and returning to The Famous Flames.

Listennnnnnn!!!!!! I'm generally not even a burger guy but the Chipotle Habanero BBQ burger that I had here last night was BANGINGGGGGG!!!!!!!! The softness and sweetness of the bun cushioned the succulent-crispy-yet-sauce-soaked chicken breasts and tantalised my tastebuds. With a serious portion of waffle fries (small is an American portion of small by the way not your usual 7/8 hand counted portion 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂) and the Captain TSO'S wings....this place has to up there on the best food in Camden list. Reminds me of those stop by Soul Food shacks that you see on the Food Network programmes and always imagine if the food is as good as Guy Fieri makes it look. The amount of people that nearly bopped on past but had to U-turn to check the menu sold me on it too. I think from looking at the posters on the walls that the famous flames Camden must be related in Some way to the Boondocks restaurant on City Road but I will be checking that spot out real soon to confirm my suspicions.... I'M a Wing man really and I did browse at another brothers box of what looked to be the garlic parmesan wings that I will be trying on my next visit. Once I've conquered every flavour will be sure to hit Google back with another honest review but so far ...I'D definitely reccomend anybody who doesn't care for all this everyday OMG I have to have my turkey breast dry and weighed to 26.4milligrams and my asparagus tips cut to avoid too much fibre😂😂😂😂😂 lifestyle , to hit this place up and revitalise your Soullllllllll.
P.s. they got that JAMES BROWNNN tunage playing whilst your munching 😋😋 ♥️ VIBESSSSSS

A restaurant that's not really made for eating in and more for take out given the size of the actual restaurant and the cutlery provided, everything is mainly for disposal as opposed to reuse.
The quality of the food is acceptable given that we are in Camden and the price paid however I would only ever go back to the shop if I was in the area and there was nothing else around that I wanted to eat but the food is still of a decent quality.

Very good wings. Nice burgers (great quality pattie, needs added sauce, beef bacon is extremely chewy and detracts from expetience). Don't do milkshakes

The staff were really friendly, the portion of chips (waffles and normal) were huge even with the meal deal which was a good price. The only downside is the seating is quite uncomfortable and high up on stools.

It's good but they never answer their phone and there's no option to make amendments to your order when ordering on deliveroo so beware if you want to make any changes you're likely screwed

Very firendly staff, the small cheesy fries are huge and delicious! The burgers are nice too.
Will definitelly come back!

Tasty but very oily wings. Fries were very soggy in the takeaway box. Bones were bruised in the wings - either unlucky or low welfare chicken

Friendly, welcoming staff and the food was great. They had amazing wings and generous portions for the fries. I would highly recommend!

The best chicken available and the special sauces are what makes it unique, however a bit of trek as it's in Camden and I live in Camberley but worth it

Lovely staff, even better food. Currently working my way through all the burgers they have and each one goes right into my top 10 chicken burgers

Good burgers and wings, and huge portion of fries with a cheap meal!

Fantastic hot wings.

(Translated) Good but nothing more. The only real reason to come to eat is the steak which was good, but the stove burned for the first time and they ended up in the trash ... So we waited a long time before being served. In addition there was a bad atmosphere in the kitchen ... Too bad because the place itself is nice.

(Translated) Much better than a fast food but the burgers do not break 3 legs to a duck.
(Original)
Largement mieux qu'un fast food mais les burgers ne cassent pas 3 pattes à un canard.
