Even though there is a Fish & Chip shop across the road from my house, I would much rather jump in the car & drive here. I'm very fussy about my fish & chips & these are the best I've ever had. And if u go early evening, there is always bags of fresh bread & rolls for sale. The rolls are perfect for a chip butty!! The best in the business.

The Golden Chip has been my go-to place for Fish and Chips for years. The food is quality and consistently good. The staff are great too. Living in the USA now I don't get to eat good quality Fish and Chips so when I travel to the UK I always make sure I visit The Golden Chip as much as possible!

One of the best fish (haddock) and chips meal I had. My second time there. Apparently, the business has been going a long time in the very spot and passed to generation to generation in the family. It can get very busy with upto 3 dozen waiting outside. The shop floor is quite small. Not cheap, £13 for my meal but very tasty.

I’ve been coming to the Golden Chip most Friday’s for the last 20 years. I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad meal. When Aggy’s on the fryer his fish are sublime! He always cooks my chips just how I like them nice and crispy. The staff are all lovely, and always serve with a smile.

Those who live in or near Hanwell have a limited choice of chippie but the long queues outside ThecGolden Chip on Friday tell a story. Fast and very efficient, it is rare for the fish to be other than crisply battered and almost oil free, or the chips to be fried to perfection. They know their regular customers, understand the value of repeat business and this is reflected by the queues!

I'd heard about The Golden Chip from my sister. This was the first time I went on a very wet rainy ☔ Saturday night. The line outside did not break 2 or 3 people outside and 2 inside. I believe the owner was taking orders, very well organised and getting through the queue as quickly as they could. Now for the food, firstly was very pleased to see they had some veggie options. I bought the veggie burger for my mother and she enjoyed it. I bought a small and large fish and chips. Very pleased as neither were oily. My father said the chips were nice and crispy, he felt there wasn't enough fish though. That was the only negative. Overall the food and service were excellent and I'll definitely be going back to try other food.

My mum and I don't often get fish and chips, and when we do we've noticed the place we used to go to went downhill some time ago. With my mum's birthday tomorrow, we thought of going somewhere with great reviews, and wow they are not wrong! I thought I had to take pictures, to show my friends. Just look at how white this cod is! Absolutely delicious, so meaty. We only had enough cash for a medium cod, but we definitely will be back: this time for a large! The chips were hot, and soft. Just as you'd expect, but without being very oily somehow. Good stuff, if you want quality fish and chips look no further.

Having done the rounds of the fish and chips circuit in London and Ealing, I can most definitely recommend The Golden Chip. Not only do they have a decent choice of fresh fish (including Rock which is delicious), their portions are generous, their batter is not stodgy or oily and their service is impeccable.

I've been here a few times over the last few years and not once thought of anything negative to say. They're very professional and also friendly. Always serve with a smile and the food is lovely. The chips are always hot, soft, and thick and very flavourful. Nice to see so many other positive reviews. It truly shows how well this establishment treats its customers and community. One of the reasons why this is my go to chippy (even when I have to travel to get there)

This is my reference fish and chip shop which I compare to all others. Fish fresh with crisp dry batter, chips soft inside with good fried coating on the outside. Their bread rolls are propper tasty not the cheap burger buns other shops sell. Friendly service. There can be a wait but worth it. Spoke to the main cook who recons the shop is about 150 years old, so I took a picture of the old shop front that is on display inside (permission was given to post it). I actually look forward to getting my supper here. They also sell gherkins (nice with fisn n chips) and a few cakes.

Listen guys, this place is so delicious, i went there for my dinner yesterday (cod and chips), and it was so delicious i had to come back for more in the same night, I went back and got two extra cod! The fish here is FRESH! it really is and you can taste the freshness in every bite. They get it delivered from Grimsby everyday (I asked!) Its not overly oily like some other places, its just delicious fresh fish, perfect batter, perfect chips. Easily the best place for fish and chips in West London. Easily. Also they do a cool thing whereby they take your order whilst you queue up, so you don't have to make your order and wait some more for your food. You make your order while in the queue and when you come to front of the queue your food is ready! Stellar service, stellar food. If you love fish chips this without question is your best option, you have to try it here. Amazing staff as well ❤️

Take away only, they have a variety of fresh fish to choose from but usually run out of options by evening so go earlier if you want something other than cod. I grew up in Ealing and this was always the place to go for beautifully cooked fish and chips. A few weeks back I was passing through and thought I’d stop by but they were just closing - the lovely staff told me not to worry and made me my own fresh fish and chips on the spot. Honestly, I was so taken with this gesture. And the fish and chips did not disappoint! It's extremely hard to find well cooked traditional fish and chips in London. This place is just perfect! I have fond memories of my parents and I eating these chips 20 years ago and they haven't changed. They even do battered rock fish and other rare delicacies 🐟

Really good local fish and chip shop in Hanwell with a decent selection of different types of fish. Yes it's a little bit pricey but you get what you pay for, the quality is top notch. Just be warned that it's a small shop and at times there can be queues out the door.

This is a small family run business that has been very popular in the community for many years. The food is slways fresh and served by affable staff but you will have to wait your turn in the queue. To date I have never been able to walk straight to the counter and get served; I have always had to join a queue which in a way is a testament to the quality and popularity of the place!

Have used this chip shop for years now but it has become a bit hit and miss lately. On few occasions over the past few months the chips have been under cooked or the fish has been dry. It's a shame because it was always consistent in the past. At £9.00 per person for a takeaway to throw most of it away is not an option for me.
