Reviews of The Great Chase

6 stars. Could not fault this place one single bit from the second we stepped in. Everything from the food to the service was impeccable, every single mouthful was an explosion of flavour. The presentation of the food was absolutely beautiful. Timings between food servings were absolutely spot on to allow the taste buds to refresh for a brand new palate. A true fine-dining experience.

Took my family to eat here for the Sunday roast. This is the full end to end experience. Wonderful and cosy venue elegantly designed. Food which is delicious and cooked with so much attention to detail. And magnificent customer service. Because it's not a huge venue you feel properly looked after and not rushed. Take the people you value there because it's that kind of place. Book in advance though because they fill up fast !

I went there with my wife for my birthday, I had the surf and turf, lamb rack and the bakwell. The surf and turf was a good start to the meal with a wide verity of different flavour, this starter has a prawn and scallops as well and lamb included in a nest of vermicelli.
The lamb rack was cooked we'll the the sources that came with it were very nice. The crumble also tasted really good with the ice cream that it came with the hot and cold contrast was a good touch, the pudding wasn't too sweet.
The drinks were very good, the staff know which drinks go well with which meal so make sure you ask for a recommendation.
It was a good experience, and all the meats are halal.
I was served by Kathy who was a great host.

We went on Sunday and had the chicken and beef roast. I really loved the different flavours that the roast included. It wasn't just some veg cooked in butter, but you could really taste the flavour they have put into the veg. The chicken was a bit tough but nonetheless still very flavourful. The beef was sirloin so not the best cut. But still great flavours. The drinks where great and had amazing taste to it. We got their weekend desserts as well that was very well presented and tasted great. Everything is halal and the owners took great care in explaining this and also seemed very passionate about their product. Only thing I'd say is that it was a bit pricey, for two of us the bill came up over £90, but you pay for the quality and service I guess.
Will go again probably for the regular menu next time.

Went to eat with a close friend and was amazed at the food. Crispy Lamb taco was originally what I thought would be the highlight starter, but after a recommendation from the waiter the Tartatoullie ended up being our favourite.
The mains were (glazed lamb rack and Duck) were both amazing as were the deserts. Would highly recommend.
As someone that enjoys alcohol, the dry bar was really cool and the drinks were quite interesting.
Simply a really good halal restaurant.

My husband took me out for a lovely meal at the great chase and everything I tried was delicious. The food was so sophisticated. We tried the tartatouille, the lamb taco for starters, then for mains; the duck, lamb rack with Cornish potatoes as a side. For dessert we had chocolate fondant and apple - not the crumble but other one. It was perfect. Thank you. Will be back again soon!

Great ‘Sunday Roast’! It came with the right amount of gravy, vegetables and sides. Tasted wholesome and satisfying. If only they can add more items on the desserts menu (didn’t try any) it would be good too but happy with the food from what I tried so far. Nice and cosy place, staff were welcoming.

My husband and I had a really lovely experience at The Great Chase. Food was amazing, the different types of flavours were bursts of joy. It's difficult to choose a favourite dish because they all were just exquisite! Presentation was wonderful and the time intervals when the food arrived between starters / main and desserts was spot on. We really enjoyed the dry bar mocktails too! The staff were also really helpful in explaining the dishes to us, all were so warm and welcoming, we definitely would reccomend to others and certainly returning in the future. A true definition of what fine dining should be.

Simply can't wait to come back when in London again. An awesome experience.
The beef cheek cannelloni was delightful. Perfectly tender and flavorful. Normally I'd expect the meat to be the star of a dish but the croquette was on another level!
Initially got served the wrong dessert but wow that was a great blessing in disguise! The manager was very generous and left us to tuck in whilst waiting on our correct dessert.
Both desserts were absolute flavour bombs! I could go on but it'd only make me miss it more!

We were warmly welcomed and sat in the comfortable restaurant with beautiful decor, simple and inviting. The staff were incredibly attentive without being remotely overbearing, their timing and manner impeccable.
The starters were wonderful, as were the mains. We had the lamb surf and turf and the tartouille - both had balanced and complex flavours, served beautifully.
For mains we had the lamb rack which was perfectly cooked, with such interesting touches - the sweetcorn emulsion was particularly clever and very tasty. We also had the beef cheek canneloni - smoky, smart and so well thought out. Everything was so well cooked, inventive and inspired. The sides (we had all three!) were generous in size and complimented our mains very well.
We had the bakewell crumble and the vanilla Mille Feuilles for dessert, which really rounded off a brilliant meal. Not too sweet, great texture on both, stunning presentation and great sizes.
The drinks were also lovely and went down very well!
The Great Chase will not disappoint. Whether it’s an intimate dinner or catching up with multiple friends / family, you will be well catered for with excellent quality, inventive and intelligent dishes served by great staff in an inviting setting.

Absolutely amazing food. If you want to treat yourself and your partner to something special this is the place to come. Food was top notch.
Portions you would expect for fine dining so that wasn't ever an issue. Every dish that came out was an Instagramers delight.
We opted for the 3 course for £35. There is a wide variety to choose from fir each course. The service was great. And the drinks from the dry bar were special.
I would definitely recommend and most certainly will be back for another cracking at some of the other dishes on offer.
I would have given 5 stars. But my only small grievance would be the space on offer. This is a very small and quaint restaurant. Being a little wide and big boned it was a bit of a struggle for me to keep my arms out of the servers small corridor. But this in no way should take away from a delightful experience.

Had such a great visit. We had booked and they gave us a great table. There are salat facilities too. As for the food, it was incredible. The lamb chops were possibly the best I've had and being a bit of a foodie I've eaten in quite a few fine dining places. The service was amazing. Some others have commented on the portion size, for us it was perfect. If you want ethically sourced, high quality food, it won't come in a bucket sized portion unfortunately.
As for the cocktails, they were delicious. Tasted great and not too sugary. Couldn't really fault it to be honest. Just make sure you book in advance as it seems to be very busy.
As for the price, it came to just shy of a £100 for two of us and the menu is set, and we had some extras and this included service. In my opinion this is on the cheap side for fine dining if you compare to other similar quality food. I expected the bill to be around £120-140 so was pleasantly surprised.

This place is seriously good! They have a large selection of different teas, truly a tea connoisseurs dream. Full halal menu, exquisite service and delicious food. Absolutely loved it and 100% recommend if you're visiting London.

My partner and I went to try the new dinner menu and were not disappointed!
I got the tartouille to start which was beautifully balanced. The creaminess of the goats cheese a highlight, you can tell they use high quality produce. For main I got the beef cheek cannelloni, the beef so tender and intense wrapped in a perfect piece of pasta, lovely stuff. Ordered some fries and they were basically perfect, lovely to see the "simple" things done with the same love and attention given to the rest of the menu. To finish I ordered the Mille feuilles which was delicious, I loved the cinnamon ice cream.
The service was attentive and informative, felt comfortable asking questions about the menu. All in all a wonderful evening and defitiniely planning a return visit to try the Sunday roast!

I found this place online and was so excited as it's all halal. The service and the team were very efficient, professional, attentive and friendly. The food was amazing, for the starter I ordered the sea food dish, the lamb dish for my main and the apple dessert. The main dish had a mince meat pastry which I wasn't too keen on but the lamb was delicious. Well done, it's so nice to have a halal restaurant serving this food.

The Great Chase where old traditions meets new . Been wanting to try out this restaurant for sometime now and when I heard about the Iftar menu I decided why not!
The experience was different - a calm relaxed vibe in a cosy setting - the restaurant seats about 16-18 people - comfortable but small. The staff were attentive and very informative & pleasant . The food was well presented and pleasing to the eye - the taste could be worked on - my chicken rolled thighs were tastier than the lamb-I felt the lamb was bland . The food could have been served hotter but I guess iftar time was under pressure . The best was the dessert . Both Apple crumble and Eton mess were scrumptious 😋 I’m glad I had the experience . @thegreatchaserestaurant #finedining #halallondon

Food was stunning in appearance and to taste. The service provided as well was stunning, very attentive and gave explanations. The only thing that was a downside was the chips I ordered as a side order (I know who orders chips in a place like this but it is something I do in everyplace I go to), tasted very oily and greasy. I wouldn't recommend them and to be honest don't really need them as the main food is gorgeous

This place came highly recommended, and we wanted to check it out. I think I was a bit too hyped up for it, we wanted to book before the first lockdown! I didn't quite know exactly what to expect - totally my fault, I should have read the menu beforehand. There's a set 3 course menu (all halal), with 3 or 4 choices per course - as opposed to a full menu of 20+ things to choose from (does it operate like this in all top-end restaurants? I suppose you can expect this as the food is very fresh). The food itself was good (perhaps almost not worth the price, two of us ate and it was just over £100 - but again, it's a premium restaurant; we came for our wedding anniversary). Food was freshly cooked, and served at the right temperature to dig in (so no having to wait for it to cool down). Nicely laid out on the plate too, very photogenic! Portion sizes were good and proportionate, the starters were just that, starters (unlike some places where the starters are so large, you have no space left for mains!).
We had a lovely evening out. The customer service was top notch. I've never had such good customer service in a long time! They called us back to reassure us that the booking is still good to go. They had saved us a nice spot so we can park our pram near out table. When our little one fell asleep, they staff literally started to whisper and tip toe as they went past. We overstayed past the closing slightly as we had to pause eating to rock baby to sleep, but we felt no pressure from the staff to leave. We were the last customers there, and no pressure or rush at all. Really friendly staff and it shows that they believe that hospitality isn't JUST about the food, but about the dining experience!

Great quality ingredients, beautifully prepared and stunningly presented. The B&T is a particularly delicious mocktail, prepared by the wonderful staff. There were 8 of us all together, so we got to sample quite a number of different items from the dinner menu and everyone left incredibly happy with their meal. I hope to have an excuse to visit again 😊

Excellent service with delicious food. A big shout-out to Br Yusuf who arranged for a treat for our first date, it was even better than what I had imagined. The atmosphere was lovely, not too loud and noisy, easy place to find and the instructions on their instagram for parking near-by were clear. Would definitely revisit!

Excellent service, staff and owner very nice. The owner is very happy to discuss all things food related with you.Food is good too. They don't sell alcohol and are fully halal. Which is a big thing for a fine dining experience in London. Keep it up. If you enjoy fine dining and want halal food give it a try.

We had the most memorable experience at The Great Chase - food quality and presentation was outstanding and service was amazing. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great - everyone went above and beyond to make our experience memorable.

First time visiting The Great Chase and won't be my last. Three course meal: lamb surf and turf for starters (brilliantly presented with even better flavours, from the first bite we were left wanting more), ribeye steak for myself (medium cooked - great size, juicy, not rubbery at all, peppercorn sauce was a nice addition) and crusted lamb rack for my friend (he said this was delicious, cooked to perfection), pear & raspberry crumble for me (surprisingly light with delicious flavours and textures) and black forest tartine (cherry and chocolate combinations worked a treat, brownie according to my friend was light and the perfect way to end). Overall, we were very pleased with our food with no complaints. Service was excellent and the presence of a prayer room was incredibly useful for us too.
M. K.
Let's start with the positives. Fully halal and easy to get to. Perfectly edible food. Having travelled 120 miles to eat here as a birthday treat... We were obviously going to finish our meals! The puree and charred cauliflower stand out and the quantity and balance of meat to veg is well thought through. Clearly well designed visually; your social media friends will be suitable impressed.
Sadly, not the resounding success it could have been or once was. Genuinely intended as constructive criticism but i doubt these changes will be made.
Greet people who have made reservations with a simple thank you instead of just saying 'name' when prople arrive. It is not a drs or dentists so no need to be clinical. Online marketing suggests a warm atmosphere; this is such a simple way to achieve this and costs you nothing. To continue on service, our order was taken, drinks and meals served but no one checked up on us during our meal which is actually very bad form especially when you add a 12.5% service charge. Remember though this is discretionary... You do not have to pay although we did... Times are tough for this sector.
At weekends, only roasts are served. We ordered chicken and beef. Both tasted fine but not what was expected for a 'european' roast. The chicken (and roast potatoes) was masala spiced and the beef was a steak cut instead of a topside which i couldn't really tell if it had been roasted. I make a mean roast dinner so wanted to be wowed, and these are not comments of a personal choice; the yorkshire pudding and gravy should be impeccable and they really fell short. If you're only serving roasts ensure you have a herb flavoured chicken and roast potato as well as your spiced version. If you are going to recommend the free-roam chicken dish as chef's choice, it should be amazing. Roast chicken skin should be crisp and light. Let the quality of food show not ruin it by spicing it or at least not the outer part of the skin which leaves a powdery unpleasant texture.
The gravy is below par. There's no arguing this. As both us and the table next to us had to ask for more, they are clearly not serving enough of the thin watery liquid that just devalues the whole experience. And at £1 extra per pot... You can afford to offer larger pots even in London. Or perhaps better thicker gravy that has sone depth. Roast up/ caramelise some carrots and onions the night before to make stock for the gravy and dont be shy with the meat juices. Chef forgot to taste and season the gravy clearly.
Our meal and two drinks cost £72+ and really didn't meet that standard. Had to speak to the manager about a hygiene issue and she redeemed some of our misgivings with her genuine approach to resolving the issue for the future which was related to a new member of staff.
We won't make the trip again but if you do, don't be intimidated into thinking this is the best roast dinner you'll have for it can certainly be better.

What a wonderful halal fine dining restaurant. From the staff to the hospitality and food it was absolutely amazing. We had the luxury of being able to speak with one of the owners who was an absolute pleasure to speak to. He knows his stuff and is pleasantly passionate about the food he serves. I will be booking soon to try their other menu, today I tried their Sunday roast and I had the lamb shank, it was so delicious along with the dessert, drinks and tea!
S. K.
I enjoyed the dessert more than anything. The food was presented beautifully. I enjoyed some parts of the food more than others but that's just my pallete. The customer service was excellent. Our little one enjoyed her mains and definitely her dessert.
S.
I've been here a couple of times for dinner and once for the tea pairing menu (pre-covid) and each time the food has lived up to the expectations. The service is exceptional, the food is sublime and the tea and cocktails are tasty. I enjoy that they're not just trying to present the drinks as non-alcoholic versions.
I still maintain the food is of such a good standard that they could be the first fully halal restaurant with a Michelin star. They aren't just trying for halal here but tayyab and that's a big difference compared to other halal restaurants that are just around for the Gram.
Currently they have a £35pp 3 course menu which is well worth the money and you won't walk away hungry!

I came her last Saturday on my anniversary. It was a perfect choice as I felt very welcome, and the whole experience was absolutely amazing!
Upon arriving, I was greeted by Simon in the most welcome way. We were seated and congratulated on our anniversary, and that’s where it all began!
I had been planning on visiting this place for a while, and on my visit I was slightly upset that I hadn’t visited before, but also very glad I chose to come on this special day!
The food was AMAZING! It’s definitely not your everyday menu. They had dishes made with ingredients I never thought would go so well together. Just looking at the dishes gave me this feeling of creativity with passion. All the dishes were presented very well. The drinks menu is totally alcohol free, but they replicated the wine so well to give that wine and dine feeling.
Simon attended to all our needs. Not once did I have to call him or any of the other staff for assistance as they kept an eye on us as well as their other customers. He balanced attending to our needs and also leaving us alone on our anniversary so perfectly!
Thank you for the very welcoming and pleasant experience! I will be visiting again soon!

I have visited the great chase restaurant on 2 occasions; once for the sunday roast and the 2nd time we tried the A La Carte menu. Both visits did not disappoint. Halal fine dining at its best! The food is great, the service is always excellent and attentive. The drinks also need a mention because the dry bar is exceptional and it is so great that a restaurant like this exists for muslims to enjoy delicious food & drink. A must visit the next time you are in London, just be sure to book in advance.
R. H.
It was my first time visiting here and it is safe to say I will definitely be back! The entire menu is beyond impressive especially the drinks, still blows my mind that a fine dining place has managed to create a completely non-alcoholic bar where the drinks match up to the quality of the food! Everything from the food, the service and banter was unmatched, the staff here are amazing and made sure to cater to our needs! Already booked to come back again soon :)
N. H.
It’s so difficult to find places like this that are fully halal and do quality food like this. Also quite refreshing have waiters that actually know about their menu too! The alcohol free drinks were great. We’re told there was new two additions on the drinks menu so tried one of them the raspberry meringue, that was very delicious. On the food the three course dinner was great. It’s about £39 for three course and is quite value for money considering all that you get. They did mention about the roast service they do on the weekend which I’m pretty excited to come back and try the next time I’m in London.
s. k.
We went for the Sunday roast and it did not disappoint! Everything on the plate was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The customer service was excellent, waitors took the time to greet us, check on us a number of times and even changed a drink to accomodate a request. A kind member of staff even brought my daughter some crayons after she saw me struggling to stop her from getting out of the highchair. These are small gestures which I have found to be non existent in restaurants these days.If I have any criticism at all, it would be that my table was higher than the chair which made it slightly uncomfortable when eating and the dessert portion was on the smaller side. Will most definitely be returning to try the rest of the menu! Thank you to the staff for changing the game in the halal food scene!
A. Z.
Visited on Wednesday for our anniversary, Simon was absolutely great, he was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond to assist with our young one also.
We tried 3 different starters, mains and desserts, I cant remember the last time we enjoyed our evening since this pandemic started so it was really lovely to finally enjoy good food and good atmosphere, the food was absolutely divine!, highly recommend visiting here, everything 100% halal and cooked to perfection, will be visiting again soon
S. A.
Great ingredients, wonderfully cooked, lovely intimate setting, welcoming service and a great find when looking for fine dining english food that’s halal
Waiting for the day they add Beef Wellington to their menu!!!!!!!!!
M. M.
Proper hidden little gem. I’ll be honest when I saw it opposite this big estate in a random spot and next to this busy barber shop my expectations were a bit low. But from the moment we walked in we were greeted so nicely. The food as well wasn’t what I expected. The three course dinner was lovely and presented so well. Very rare to find a fully halal spot like this. The drinks were also really good and all alcohol free. If I didn’t live so far I’d probably try and be back sooner.
A. Q.
Came here yesterday with some friends. Honestly one of our favourite dining experiences in a long time. Great 3 course dinner with fantastic service. We even tried some of their mock tails and they were really good. Some of the mocktail we liked better than others. The restaurants was a lot smaller than we had expected and on a pretty quiet road. Although the venue isn’t lavish the experience of food and service was great!
H. P.
Me and my friends came here for the Sunday roast. We all agreed it was fantastic. Between the four of us we had two lamb shanks and 1 beef and 1 chicken. The lamb shank and beef was amazing! The chicken one of my friends had did say one end of the chicken breast did become a little dry but still really enjoyed the whole dish. Looking forward to another visit!
R. W.
My husband and I tried the new dinner menu and we both thought the food and the service was fantastic. When asking questions about the menu, the waiters were super knowledgeable about the food they were serving. The portion sizes were great especially for a three course menu and the sides were also delicious.
Would definitely recommend a visit and we are also planning to return for their Sunday roast!
Y. B.
This is the second time we’ve visited this place. The menu has limited items which makes it simple and easy to choose, the food was exquisite! The star of the show was definitely the cod dish in the mains. Great customer service, foods halal, 5 min walk away from the angel underground stop makes it easy to get to. Wishing you guys all the best
A. D.
A fabulous restaurant! Organic halal menu done beautifully. So glad I got to experience it. It has a set menu - I had an accomodating sister so got to try two starters, two mains and two deserts. Everything done just right! They had some great cocktails too (all non alcoholic) 👌🏾
H. C.
Only by chance I found this place, came to London for the day and wanted something different. Alwayed wanted to experience fine dining that was halal and I found it alhamdulliah. Food was out of this world, staff was very friendly and professional. Everything is halal and the drinks was great too. I would definitely recommend and a place I shall be returning inshaAllah.
Z. S.
This place was so much better than I could’ve imagined, the food was delicious, the service was great, facilities were nice and clean.
The prices weren’t cheap but also not too expensive, considering the quality.
I would definitely revisit the place for a special occasion.
T. A.
Me and my family really enjoyed our meal here. It’s great to see a fully halal restaurant with no alcohol and prayer space serving this kind of food and giving good service. Well done to them as we no longer need to compromise so much on our halal needs for this kind of food. Only thing is though the place is quite small and and maybe could do with a little uplift but this didn’t really change the experience we had. Wonderful little restaurant highly recommended!!
Z.
This place deserves Michelin star recognition...my wife and I have eaten at some very expensive places but the price point here is actually very reasonable. Service was outstanding and we loved everything we ate.
The flavours are very vibrant and well thought out, the duck was cooked perfectly with an amazing sauce which was the highlight for me.
We will definitely come back next time we visit London.
Thank you for having us!
N. B.
I went there with my wife on the weekend to try their roasts. We both absolutely loved it!! We had the beef roast and the lamb shank roast. All the trimmings that came with it was great especially the butternut mash. It’s probably a little bit on the pricier side but we thought it was worth it for the taste and quality and the service was great also. Seemed to be very busy so just be wary as it’s a very small place.
N. K.
Food here was 10/10
We had the Sunday roast.
Opted for the beef and my friend opted for the lamb. Both were absolutely divine.
We got the merry berry for desserts and the pear & apple crumble. For a more fine dining experience I would say merry berry was put of this world however the crumble was also excellent.
Had multiple choices of mocktails all were good.
We will be going back!
Everything here is halal.
H. M.
Delicious halal roast and very filling. Seen they do a different menu at dinner times. Will come back to try that. The service was also really good they even helped with our choice of their drinks which is all alcohol free. It’s nice to find a halal spot like this. Only thing I would say is the decor could do with a bit of a lift.
A. Q.
The food was the tastiest food I've ever eaten (small portions but left feeling full). The salmon carpaccio was an explosion of flavours in ur mouth. Credit to the menu creators and chefs. I wasn't too keen on the choice of dessert, I had the merry Berry and the pana cotta was too firm and the dessert overal a bit too sickly sweet. The staff, each and every one of the front house staff were fabulous, a great asset to the restaurant. I was a bit disappointed with the restroom, the lock needs fixing. Great that there was somewhere to pray. Bit dull atmosphere inside. Thank you for rustling something up for our son, maybe the chicken would have been more suitable without the skin for the breaded option (just our opinion). Overall we had a lovely experience and had the evening set menu. Perhaps I'm used to a bit more choice options but whatever we did have was amazing.
E. C.
Went for dinner with some friends. Honestly wow! The three course we had, they only do that at dinner which we weren’t actually aware of at the time was very good. From starters to dessert it all tasted really good. The service I have to say was brilliant. Very attentive which I guess helps as it’s quite a small restaurant. They also helped us when we were stuck with our choices.
J. P.
Came here a couple of weeks ago. Great food especially enjoyed the tartouille and the roasted salmon main dish. They only serve non alcoholic drinks but they were actually really good. Didn’t miss a glass of wine dining out on this occasion. Small little restaurant tucked away on a quiet road. Little hidden gem!

Just had a family meal at The Great Chase, it was one of the best meals we have had.
All produce was fresh and tasted amazing.
If you are looking for a halal place that serves 5* food this is it. They have taken gourmet food to another level.
The service was excellent as well, all staff were friendly, kind and knowledgeable about the dishes.
H. C.
The food here is delicious. Having eaten at many high end restaurants and being limited to a non halal menu, it was a fantastic treat to be able to dine here. Menu has been carefully thought out, the flavour combinations are excellent, meats well cooked. I don't have a sweet tooth as such, but these desserts were balanced and not overly sweet. Service was fantastic, from arrival to the very end. If I were being hyper critical, my only gripe would be that the decor is a little dark - therefore a moody atmosphere. However that is a personal taste preference, which wouldn't stop me from revisiting.
e. e.
Great food! Good customer service. However, I felt the menu was slightly misleading. Firstly, the menu is convincingly affordable: £35 for a set menu with an extra fee of £10- £15 for steak and sauce. The menu states there are supplementary charges for the “popular items” such as steak and sauce but this isn’t ‘totalised’ or ‘verbalised’ to inform or confirm with the customer. Accurate pricing (for both set courses) and consideration to make their menu more accessible for visually impaired and dyslexic customers could be considered.
M. A.
The food was fantastic as was the service, had to travel over an hour to get there but it was worth it. Will definitely go again.
A. S. K.
First review I’ve pretty much done but what can I say we had a great experience and I felt I needed to. Really good food presented like it’s on master chef or something. Service was really good they are really friendly and made us feel really welcome. Starters and mains came out quick but the desserts did take a bit of time to come as they were busy at that time but because everything we enjoyed we were ok with that delay. They did mention they might be doing an Iftar menu as Ramadan is coming up so I might try come for that.
M. R.
Visited on the launch of the new dinner menu. Haven’t visited since they first opened so was quite excited to see how much The Great chase has evolved. I wasn’t disappointed. I had the lamb surf and turf for starters. It was the best starter, in my opinion. However you can argue the same for the other starters (I’m slightly biased towards lamb).
For the mains I got the Beef cheek cannelloni. Have never had something like before so had to try it. The beef was quite rich in all the right ways and the croquette that came with was great on its own, but together had great balance to create a perfect main course.
I had fries for sides. If you like a crunchy, well seasoned exterior and a fluffy inside you’ve got to get these as part of your meal. I know we’re just talking about fries here but lot of places get these wrong so it’s a breath of fresh air to see a dish so simple have the same detail as the rest of the menu.
I got the crumble to complete my meal. I’m not much of a dessert person, but what I can say about this is it wasn’t too sweet. You can’t taste all the flavours without being overshadowed by excessive sugar.
All in all I have a perfect experience at the great chase. Not just for the food. I have to reserve a special thanks to all the staff there too. They were very attentive and polite. They knew the menu very well and answered everything thrown at them about the food with confidence.

Love the food! Easily my top three restaurants. Drinks are a little pricey but that wont make me reduce the amount of times I go here. My go to is the sirloin Sunday Roast
A. A.
I've been a few times. Have tried the Sunday roast and the evening menu. Both fantastic. Drinks are also superb. A lot of tought goes into the accompaniments, which elevates the meal. Highly recommend.

The service and food was great as always. Never left a review before but been here enough times and never had any issues therefore I have to recommend to anyone out there!!!

Exceptional food and very hospitable staff who will do their utmost to ensure you have a wonderful time and enjoy The Great Chase experience.
We visited on their reopening night since lockdown restrictions eased and the food didn't disappoint! A great new 3 course evening menu was £35 and there were additional options such as snacks, steaks (£10 or £12 supplement) and sides. The food is wholesome and tasty and you really get that fine dining experience in an intimate, cosy venue.
They were organised with their bookings and the numbers limited to ensure COVID compliance. Guests are asked to sanitise their hands and check in to the NHS track and trace app. Alternate tables were used to ensure social distancing between dining parties. Staff wore masks and the door was kept open for ventilation.
We love The Great Chase and will return soon!

Brilliant place! Food was amazing! Service was second to none. Just a lovely evening. Definitely will have to return to try out the rest of the menu. A quality place with quality food and drinks, all of which is halal. They also have a prayer space so you can enjoy your time there. Had the trout with cauliflower side. Fish was cooked just right but have to say the cauliflower side was really good. Didn't think I'd be impressed by it but it was a very pleasant surprise. Apple and rhubarb dessert at the end was just right and the cocktails are really worth a try!

Surprised my husband for his birthday. Everything was so flavoursome - Absolutely divine!
We got the 3 course set menu, would love to try the weekend roast next!
P. S.
My wife and I had dinner here last Friday, and we loved it. The food is super tasty - we started with the salmon, had the chicken and the lamb shank for mains, and for dessert it was the vanilla & hazelnut pastry and the apple & blackberry crumble.
All the dishes were great - the chicken being a standout.
Staff are really friendly, explaining each dish and some of the background of where the ingredients are sourced from.
It is an alcohol free restaurant too - we both enjoyed a couple of cocktails with our meal.
Overall a great experience and we’re looking forward to going back soon!
S. A.
I don’t really do reviews but great halal dinner. We had the three course and each course was really especially some of the starters as we shared our food amongst four us so we got to order pretty much all the items. Drinks were good too. Service was quick and friendly. Slight delay on the desserts but they kept us informed and it was busy at the time so that was ok. Would defo recommmend
R. S. W.
Great food. Never really get a chance to a halal roast anywhere and boy do they do a really good one. The service is really good also, very friendly staff. The drinks were good also probably not as good as the food though but to be honest I was really here for the food!
L. C.
best roast I've ever had! the lamb shank was melt in the mouth. the chicken breast was juicy with a thin crispy skin. the trimmings blew us away: mash, vegetables, gravy and Yorkshire pudding were all outstanding! great also to see the management taking covid safety measures very seriously.
B. W.
A really good find. Its a tiny restaurant but the host is fantastic and the food is really tasty and superbly presented.
M. U.
The roast was delicious!!!! I had the beef roast which was amazing, it was tender and flavoursome. The veggies was great and had some spice to it and the mash was incredible. This will become a regular spot for me
J. C.
Tried the roasts over the weekend. Had the lamb shank. It was fall of the ball deliciousness. A good portion size too. Service was great, I think one of the guys was the owner he was really friendly and nice.
R. B.
Girly night out without the kids. Perfect place for dinner. Great food and service. We are we’re so full after the three course dinner. We’ve already planned our next meet up to come back here for the roasts
T. A.
Tasty food. Enjoyed the three course dinner they do. Friendly knowledgeable staff and some nice mocktail. They have a lot of teas but will try them next time
S. A.
Something a bit different from your normal halal fare. Presented really nicely and tasted good. Service was friendly. Tried the three course dinner, will be back for their famous roasts
A. H.
Really enjoyed the food here. Something abit different and the service is good. They even have a space so you can pray which was great as it was prayer time around the time we were having dinner so that made it easy.
S. U.
Amazing, food was delicious and melted into your mouth. The place is alcohol free so you have access to a variety of tasty drinks. Three roasts section on Sunday. I would suggest booking a week in advance on the site to get the Sunday roast.
S. H.
Almost like a fine dining experience (except it fills you up) very cosy and warm, the service was great and the 3 course option menu's are delightful... pleasantly suprised but overall great night out 👌👅
E. T.
Went here to try out their new menu after they concluded what was a wonderful iftaar menu…if I could give 10 stars I would… I must say I was more mind blown than I was on my last visit. They’ve added their famous roasts which was only available on weekends to their actual menu so I had to go and try it out and just wow!!! Their new prawn starter was so full of flavour and my mrs had the beef cheek taco with the cheese guacamole and spiced onions. We had the chicken and lamb roasts which was full of flavour and very tender.. and their mango eton dessert and crumble was just wow.. booking a visit again to show people what they’re missing out on. Service was great as usual everything was well explained and they were very welcoming! 10/10

Found out about this place from a review on YT, looked amazing and it exceeded expectations when we attended.
Made a booking online for the Saturday lunch roast, bookings are essential due to the current Covid restrictions, it's straight forward easy from a link on their website. The restaurant is very close to Angel tube, about a 5 minute walk. Also if you're driving there's pay by phone or Ringo bays not far from the restaurant.
The restaurant has a nice old school look from the outside, inside decor is very homely with comfortable chairs and bench seating. The lunch menu was simple with choice of chicken, beef or lamb. We ordered the beef and lamb. The host/waiter was very welcoming and knowledgeable, he helped pick drinks and was able to provide tips with brewing the tea. The non alcoholic drinks were fresh. The roast came in good time, the food was presented really nice, the lamb shank slid of the bone, the meat was flavoursome and cooked perfect, the sauce, veg and mash especially was superb. We finished with deserts, the miulle friulle was lovely, pavlova was nice also. Probably could have done without desert as the main was a good size. Really enjoyed our time and looking forward to returning. Top scores!

Our first night out post-lockdown and we could not have chosen a nicer place!
We were greeted with a warm welcome and offered hand sanitiser as we entered. There were other couples there with young children and it was endearing to see one of the waiters juggling oranges to entertain the kids. Even in the presence of children, we loved that we could eat in peace without the loud hustle and bustle of a chain restaurant. It’s a nice intimate setting which is rare for a day/night out in central London.
For drinks we had a B ‘n’ T which is a strong, dry mocktail with hints of citrus and a Pineapple Express which is slightly fizzy but lovely and sweet! We were pleasantly surprised at how fast we were served our food; we ordered the Sirloin Steak with chilli fries as a side and the Lamb Shank all-week roast plate.
The steak was very juicy and succulent and well presented. The chilli fries were a perfect accompaniment to the steak as it gave the nice balance of something hot with something salty all at once!
The Lamb Shank roast plate was a mission to eat, there’s so much on the plate, it took a while to finish. The lamb itself was amazingly soft and fell right off the bone each time it was pulled away; and there’s so many things to eat with the lamb too: cauliflower, parsnips, carrots, broccoli, roast potato, a butternut squash mash but the most unique part was the Yorkshire pudding which is made from scratch and has specks of herbs throughout and tastes amazing with the gravy which is generously poured over the lamb.
We didn’t stay for dessert this time as we had to leave for another booking but we look forward to trying other dishes for our next visit. We had a lovely time at The Great Chase and look forward to returning soon!
S. A. H.
On my trip to london I visited here last month for their Sunday roast which we heard so much about. Defo lived up to the praise. Tasty Sunday roast with an amazing sweet potato mash I think it was. Next time we are in london I’ll be making sure we visit again!!

The Great Chase has been on my list to visit, and waited for a special occasion for my first visit. Brought the Mrs here for our 1 year Anniversary, and it didn’t disappoint.
The restaurant is small but cosy. The decor is inviting, our table was a little small for all the food, but the staff were very accommodating with taking things promptly off our tables after we had finished. The menu is seasonal so you may not find the same dishes on the menu on your visit.
The Gochuchang Octopus was so great, my wife was left wanting more, but at the end of the meal she realised the portions were perfect.
They helped us pair teas to our meals, I’m not a tea connoisseur, was really helpful to get some direction.
Dishes were beautifully presented, and they tasted as good as they looked.
The place isn’t cheap, our bill came to £88, however I’ve eaten in places and paid twice as much and I have to say The Great Chase comes on top.
Looking forward to my next visit.
A. A.
The food was exquisite and the service was brilliant. The staff were very bubbly and welcoming. A very refreshing experience. A wonderful halal fine dining experience.
S. P.
What an amazing iftar service! They really thought carefully about the experience which was so lovely. The food was really good but the way they do everything was wonderful. You come into an environment with mash reds they play the adhan loudly at Maghrib starters come out quick which is all managed by a pre order. Then the ladies pray followed by the men after together. Mains come out after and desserts come out at good times. Their prayer space is just the cutest. Me and my friends absolutely loved our iftar here! Thank you!!
N. A.
Great fresh food. The starters, main and dessert were delicious and a very good selection of teas at the end. The service was also great. Recommended!
A. M.
We’d heard good things about this place and sometimes the hype never matches expectations but this place was bang on the money. The food was delicious, amazingly presented, quirky, it literally had everything. It’s one of those places where you can tell they take such great pride in their cooking, their presentation and of course their customer service. Again, super impressed with the customer service, amazing friendly, helpful, the lot! The menu is seasonal which is great as it gives you the excuse to go back again, I definitely can’t wait. I’m alway happy to pay a little bit more for a decent restaurant experience, well done The Great Chase, you’ve got a little gem here!
K. B.
I really enjoyed this place. So we had for starters, the chicken liver which was nice- the portion being rather reasonable. I had an octopus, and it was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed that. For the main we had steak. My husband ordered medium/ rare. It was more on the rare side then medium. But having said that it was still good. I think he would have preferred it slightly more cooked. I had chops and really enjoyed that. Portion was ok. There were so many different flavours going on, but they all went well. For dessert we shared a mango crumble. It was topped with mango custard which wad lovely. A bit more of the custard would have been good. There was an icecream on top which went perfectly. We had the cocktails which wad good.. venice and cherry amour. Light and fruity. The atmosphere was good. the decor is nice and cosy. Very polite. Oh and teas were good... but make sure you have space. Would i go back... yes i guess i would. Defo worth going to.
S. A.
The menu was small but every dish we tried was made to perfection. The taste and ingredients used were of a high standard and the service was spot on.
The restaurant is also a little on the small side but that added to its charm and character. Drinks and Desserts were also very good.
A. S.
3 course set menu served. Great service and lovely food with everything cooked to perfection.
Z. H.
Came here last week with my boys for a birthday meal. Have to say it was great food. Had the mackarel starter which had so many flavours and looked like art. Got a ribeye for the mains. Cooked perfectly and tasted great, mosts halal places don’t get steaks right. Dessert had the crumble. Presented well and tasted great. Would love to come back again.

Great food
Great tea
Great customer service
Great atmosphere
The steak was cooked to my preferred medium and it was delicious.
The potatoes were great too.
The palomino drink was refreshing and is a must try.
There was a choice of about 20+ rare teas and if you’re not sure do ask the staff and they’ll give you their recommendations.
H. A.
Went for the Sunday roast recently and absolutely loved it. Always book in advance to avoid any disappointment as it is a tiny place with huge demand.
Staffs were on hand and guide you throughout the experience. Definitely worth a try.
B. K.
Intimate atmosphere with excellent food and attentive service. Beef cheeks were the best dish we ordered, though the others were great too - lamb shank, brisket burger, double burger. Waiting staff took the time to explain the menu items, and had taken appropriate social distancing precautions (this was their first night open post-lockdown). Look forward to going again.
S. M.
Wow! It was a fantastic experience. Brave combinations that just seem to work! The food was EXCELLENT, the service was perfection and the dessert to die for. The steak was cooked perfectly (although I wished I'd gone for medium rare instead of medium). Couldn't really be faulted. I will return!!
a. d. s.
Came for the Sunday Roast and boy was it spectacular! We all ordered the roast beef and all three of found it absolutely delicious. A twist on a normal roast, as they use a mixture of Middle Eastern esque herbs and spices (think cumin, smoked paprika, chilli etc) on the vegetables. Could not fault anything on my plate! Very much looking forward to returning and trying the evening menu
J. A.
Very tasty fine dining british food in a halal environment, friendly and attentive staff and they also have a nice prayer space which is great. We went with our kids and they also had an option for them which is great. Look forward to go back and try other dishes.

Olives: very tasty and a generous amount.
Steak: my medium was cooked perfectly as ordered, beef dripping butter was very tasty as were the skin on fries and new potatoes. I don't ever eat mushrooms but these were pickled and very tasty. My partners steak had alot of excess sinew which put her off the steak.
Chocolate, blood orange, pecans for dessert, when it arrived I wasn't too impressed with the look of the dessert as we didn't know what to expect. After tasting it, we were blown away, the tartness of the blood orange completely balanced the sweetness of the chocolate mouse. We ended up ordering another!
Cappuccino: very tasty!
Service was great, seemed as though all the staff on duty enjoyed their job.
R. G.
Customer service was outstanding. The care the staff take to make you comfortable is enough to bring you back. We ordered from the brunch menu and the food was excellent. The gnocchi was unbelievable we actually felt tempted to order it again bit decided to get a dessert. Which was excellent
F. M.
This is one of those hidden gems you only ever seem to read about but never have the luck to actually stumble across. Luckily, my friends and I did stumble across this place and boy oh boy, weren't we glad to have done so.
My friends and brother only eat halal food while I'm more of an 'anything goes' type of person and we all agreed that this is not just an excellent halal restaurant, but simply an excellent restaurant in and of itself. The food, especially the steaks (our table had 3 ribeyes) were excellent and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that this was the best halal steak I've ever had. The starters were all something you would expect to see in a fine dining menu and I'm happy to report, they tasted just as good too.
Given the quality of the food, we decided to give the deserts a crack as well and whilst they were not as great as the food, they were still very good. In addition to all of this, the level of service given by the owner was extraordinary and his time in explaining that all the food is ethically sourced from local producers was also appreciated. It is very clear the man has a strong passion for what he does.
I will definitely be going back there very soon.
J. M.
Amazing food , cannot fault at all everything was on point! Prayer area for salah also.
Tables and chairs need updating as were wobbly. Also bidet or lota to wash yourself in toilets would be recommended being a muslim establishment.
H. M.
Small cosy restaurant with really good food. They don’t al a carte here just a 3 course dinner but you get to choose your starter, main and dessert. Each course was delicious. We were very satisfied by the end of our evening.

A culinary delight with which we ended the evening, dining here at The Great Chase. Top notch service, reasonably priced for what it is and certainly at the forefront of the British Halal scene here in London.
The octopus starter was immaculately presented and tasted remarkable - the tenderness was unmatched to the octopus I have tried before, and paired so well with the coconut! The meal was accompanied by Emperor's Breakfast, a daring tea blend with sweet notes of chocolate. The chocolate mousse dessert went surprisingly well with the citrus gel. I honestly cannot fault the food here, hands down one of the best dining experiences in London.
A special thanks to the guy who greeted us at the door and Maulan (I have most definitely spelt your name wrong, but you've got a tattoo on your arm!) who can light up your mood a thousandfold with his character and contagious laugh. The service here is genuine, honest and very attentive. You've made our evening all the more better. Can't wait to visit again!
A. K.
I organised Sunday roast with some friends. The food did not let us down. I ordered the lamb and the flavours on the plate were amazing. Definitely will be going back soon with more friends. Excellent food.
Q. A.
Went for brunch. Coffee was nice and strong. Poached eggs cooked perfectly. Lovely, cosy space. Lovely staff. One of the best places for brunch in north London.
Prefer my pancakes fluffier. But the flavour was lovely. Can’t wait to try their fried chicken burger next time I visit.
D. P.
Slow-Roast Lancashire Lamb Shank 10/10 This is the best lamb shank I have had to date. Not only does the meat fall off the bone, the taste is mouth watering and the presentation was very aesthetically pleasing. The condiments were great, the effort you can see in detail. Sunday roast well worth the journey!
S. B.
Fabulous food. We came for a last minute dinner and it was beyond all expectations. The duck and the octopus were amazing starters. An absolutely unforgettable experience in terms of taste of food and customer service. Ethically sourced, halal and giving back to the community.
B. H.
Delicious halal food! Me and my wife really enjoyed our dinner here. It’s a small restaurant but the food and service was really good. They even have a place to pray which is such a bonus!
M.
Had the pleasant opportunity of visiting The Great Chase last weekend and I was left astounded by the quality of food on offer. From the minute you enter the restaurant you are greeted by two wonderful waiters who explain the care they take in ensuring the food is ethically sourced, something I am yet hear in any fine dining restaurant of this calibre. The group and I ordered a mixture of the different roasts and cocktails on offer and needless to say we were left in awe by the level of detail the chef had gone into, from creating the dish to the mixture of flavours which had been placed perfectly onto our plate, some of which as a ordinary lover of food I couldn't even begin to describe! The non-alcoholic cocktails were a great touch and also tasted wonderful and yet again you could see the effort that had been put into these as they weren't your just your basic cocktails. Nobody in our group was left disappointed and we all left satisfied knowing why this was voted the best halal restaurant in London. This restaurant is a must visit during your time in London!
H.
Loved my dining experience here with a big group of friends. Great quality food and the right balance of flavours with every dish, impeccably presented. The restaurant were very accomodating to last minute pre-order changes. Big thanks to Will for all your help. Can't wait to dine here again!! Lovely prayer area too
A. A.
A great experience! the food was delicious, with every plate a new palet of tastes and experiences. We had a few great alcoholfree drinks, very surprising and tasty starters and delicious t-bone steak and burgers. The service was great. We will def come back every time we visit Londen!
N. A. R.
Excellent restaurant. Real gem tucked away in London offering modern British cuisine with seasonal menus and a full dry bar. Worth a visit espcially on Sunday to try out their most delicious roast!
a. y.
We had an iftar three course meals, th service was spot on and they catered to our needs. The food was amazing, the lamb taco was delicious, I highly recommend.
A. A.
Customer service absolutely AMAZING! They have passion for what they do.
Food fantastic, the lamb is delicious delicious 😋 (my fav) .
Desert and the tea is five star 🌟
I can say that it is one of the best restaurants that I have visited in London.
I will come back soon.
Y. R.
Amazing high quality 'pure' halal and tayyab cuisine. The Sunday roast is by far the best in London. The non alcoholic drinks are mixed on demand and are paired with the meals. I've also visited during Ramadhan for the special iftaar menu. Epic
J. E.
This was one the finest dining experiances ive had in london. They have an amazing selection of cordials and concuctions and their tea menu is super impressive and taste amazing. The food is of supirior quality taste and flavour. The staff know the menu's well amd there is a great ambience in the place and the cherry on top is there is parking outside.
m. r.
Great tasting food. Came here previously and the food was not as great as it is now. Depending on choice of dish the portions are reasonable. Average cost of a main dish is about £16.
H.
Came here with a friend for Sunday roast and had a lovely experience. Staff were polite and food was good. Will definitely be returning!
T. H.
Went here last week with my husband for iftaar. Honestly amazing. The food was brilliant as expected, but on top of that, the atmosphere, service everything was top notch. The owner was super welcoming and we will definitely be returning again soon!
G. P.
This place was fantastic! Delicious, well cooked and well presented ethically sourced food and loved the tea menu! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was cosy and chilled. Will be back!
M. A.
Food was delicious but portions could have been bigger, I personally didn't feel I was getting value for my money. Atmosphere and presentation was really good however!
T. M.
Such a cute restaraunt and great hospitality. Went to break fast there today with my best friend and was so humbled by how nice it was and how beautiful it was to break fast with others and here the adnan and feel welcomed to pray there too. Great food and drinks. Halal and non alcoholic. And great food and staff... highly recommended
R. C.
This was a last minute decision and we were so happy with our choice. Not only did the food taste good along with some pretty creative mocktails. We did our good deed for the day by dining with a 100% halal restaurant. The owners make conscious decisions about where their food is sourced and give back to their society. Their bathrooms are twinned with laterines in Nepal and they support the maintenance of them. We learned how the restaurant came to be and how to pair teas with our meals and each dish had a story behind it. I will definitely return when in London again.
M. G.
The most amazing sunday roast! The beef was of excellent quality and the roast potatoes and sweet potato mash were one of a kind. The drink I ordered- venice spritz was very refreshing and the perfect beverage to compliment the food. Will definitely be revisiting!
H. L.
Tasty and well presented food, absolutely loved the Apple, pear and cranberry crumble. Service was excellent. Seating could be more comfortable.
S.
Food Was Great And Service Was Even Better, Very Friendly Staff Who Look After You Very Well. Highly Recommend Trying The Lamb Chops With Flat bread. The Mocktails Are Great Too, They Aren't Overpowered By Sugar And Syrup Like Most Places. Don't Forget To Try Their Apple Crumble Dessert With Cornflake Ice-Cream. In Terms Of Price It Is A Little Pricey But It's A Great Place For A Couples Night Out. Can't Wait To Come Back And Try Their Sunday Roast!
H.
Astounding!
Wedding anniversary meal while in London for a few days. Absolutely incredible dining experience. The closest to Halal Michelin star food we have eaten. Enjoyed every bite. Looking forward to our next visit especially with the menu change. Keep it up chaps!
S. K.
Would go again.
100% recommended.
Halal food at its absolute best.
Fine dining like no other.
In this day and age no catering in fine dining places for halal food seekers. Shame.
This place is fabulous

1 Lamb Sunday Roast
1 Pineapple Express
The smile on my face says it all. It’s not often you experience a British roast of this quality. I would definitely recommend this place.
A. P.
This was the perfect spot for a relaxed brunch in Angel! The full english breakfast was delicious - I've never had beef sausages before but they were so tasty. Service was friendly and polite, and the coffee was decent too! My new local :)

First time back after COVID
As usual good food, but my sister's chicken was a little dry, my beef was perfect.
Will definitely go back again

Had a wonderful experience at The Great Chase thanks to our waiter Ilyas who carefully spent time with us to explain all the items on the menu and make recommendations. Every item we had from the three course set menu was exceptional! The highlights for us was the beef cheek, rack of lamb and the desserts!
I'll definitely be returning for their Sunday Roast.
K. A.
Small cosy restaurant. With creative halal food. Service was great too very friendly and warm. We had a three course dinner and it’s very rare to find a fully halal restaurant that does food like this. Presentation was great food was tasty and the Bakewell cocktail was so good, highly recommended that cocktail all alcohol free as well!!
R. C.
Had a good time here with some friends. Good food presented well. Good choice of mocktails. Service was good, quite warm and friendly from the moment we walked in. It’s quite a small restaurant and did get busy quickly.
R. W.
Food was good. They didn't have the duck as they were sold out at 8pm. Its fine dining in a pub style sticky restaurant. Service is excellent. Lamb rack is nice and so is prawn wrap. Didn't try the teas. The crowd is not fine fining. People in hoodies and hats. Mocktails are really nice. Mediocre. Nothing too fancy. You could go to a better place with half halal menu for the price.
A. M.
Great Great place with tremendous and informative staff. You can hear the passion for their food, tea and cuisine by their speech. A 100% halal premium cuisine, I would definitely recommend.
Steak was brilliant.
A. P.
Very nice restaurant. The meals are delicious and filling and the staff are very courteous in their service. Only slight gripe is price is quite dear for what it is but worth a one-off visit as a treat.
S. S.
Amazing fine dining menu, each dish came out looking like a work of art and tasted the part too. Great ingredient quality and presentation made our meal an experience to remember. Service was attentive and warm. All food is also halal, if that is your thing, which makes this a truly unique eatery!
a. e.
Had a wonderful three course meal at this very dainty restaurant.
Food was exquisite and the service was superb.
I will be going back very soon.
J. A.
Amazing dry aged sirloin steak... Probably the best I ever had so far! Not a big fan of beef fat usually but the fat along the sirloin was so juicy and nice! Definitely recommend the fifty-sixty concoction which was so good!
A. K.
Booked this restaurant reading the amazing reviews.
Pros-
Service was okay, would've been good if the waitress didn't take my drink as I was not finished with it.
As an anniversary gesture and voicing my opinion about the food when I was asked how it was? I was honest. When the bill arrived the waiter did not charge us a 'discretionary service charge' and waived off the charge for drinks. Why I gave a 3 star.
Cons-
The food was extremely disappointing. Ordered the lamb rack. It was fatty and had to tell the waiter to cook it more. Other half ordered the cod recommended by the waitress, again was a let down.
Overall extremely disappointed with our experience after reading the great reviews.
E. R.
Amazing food! For those looking for fine dining European food plus food being halal this is then this is the perfect place. The staff are very friendly too!

The roast in LONDON without any shadow of doubt been there for a while now and believe me when I say it’s worth every PENNY. Beautiful restaurant, staff and food.

This place is amazing and affordable. The concept is halal food and non alcoholic cocktails being served in such an amazing way that you won't even notice. The place itself it's nice and cozy with jazz music on the backdrop. The cocktail selection is wide and very tasty, the food itself is very good as well. Price range goes from £10 to £25 on the main dishes. It's worth the visit and I'm definitely going back!
M.
The food was well worth the wait and the service was lovely.
Husband true hard to book this place and luckily an opening appeared and we went for it. From their starters to their lovely sorbets, we were not disappointed.
One let down is that the tables were small and so was the place, so I hope they can expand one day.
They serve no alcohol on the premises but their mocktails are fee done to such a high standard, there are drinkers who go there to eat and have no problem ordering more than a few drinks.
They even have a tea menu and the owner or bartender guide you through choosing the best tea to go with your food.
M.
Visited here for a halal Sunday roast. Delicious mocktails. Roast is good but the Yorkshire's were a little dry and there could have been a bit more gravy. The major downside was our seating: the place is quite small so we ended up being sat right next to the kitchen and outdoor area. This resulted in a lot of noise and some scents of cigarettes coming in from the outside.
A. H.
Great roast with my friends. It was our first visit and we all said we can’t wait to come again! The staff there were really lovely!
A. R.
If you think the food looks good, the service was way better. You can tell they've really thought through the menu and they have a passion for food. Would recommend to others and looking forward to coming back

Yuuuuuuum! 10/10 roast dinner. Go for the lamb shank its ahmazzing. Amazing service and ethos too. Very well accomodating to our 2 year old. Thanks Simon
A. R. H.
Just had the Sunday roast. So tasty especially the mash. The lamb shank was pretty big and proper fall of the bone. BANGING!!!

The best restaurant I’ve ever been to. Service is 10/10. Michelin Star soon come. *

Lovely to have a truly halal ‘fine dining’ restaurant.
Staff are so friendly and Simon is very knowledgeable about the menu and makes great recommendations about drinks and even suggestions about how to have the meat for different dishes (eg medium rare vs medium etc) They were very accommodating for our 4 year old too.
All the food we tried from the set 3 course evening menu was on point - the portions are small/modest but the flavours are immense. By the end of the meal - I wasn’t stuffed but definitely satisfied.
I would not hesitate to go back when I’m next in the city, I can only hope they’ll open up a branch in my lovely city of Leicester!
(My only critique is that of the decor/interior, it lets the place down. There are exposed clusters of wires in the dining area, wallpaint looks worn, the toilets were small and look run-down with a broken cupboard. I just expected a better eye for detail in the decor, which would correlate with the great food. Hence minus 0.5 star)

The Great Chase is a lovely little restaurant serving up modern British fine food and wonderful teas, coffees and alcohol free cocktails. All of the meat is carefully sourced halal and all other ingredients are also sourced with passion and care – making for a great experience when visiting here! Located just five minutes from Angel Station they’ve been open for a few months now but are already providing great service and amazing food.
The decor is modern and quirky, with chic green walls and antique wooden tables. The tables are booths which provide a comfy atmosphere and the music adds a chilled ambiance. The staff are fun and friendly and super knowledgeable so ask them questions if you’re not sure what to choose.
We started off with a nibble of some Nocellara, Ligurian & Gioconda Olives. They were juicy and moorish and the combination of the three flavours were great. As olives are my kryptonite they didn’t last long!
For the main event my friend went for the 4oz beef burger, brisket smoked, cheddar, baby gem, gherkins, house bbq sauce & fries. He said it was one of the best burgers he’s ever had and he has had a lot! It was juicy, meaty, well seasoned and massive and smoked cheddar added a great touch.
I had the Avocado, two poached eggs, chilli & linseeds on pumpernickel. I opted to skip the eggs to keep it vegan but I wasn’t missing out as it was delicious! The avocado was perfectly ripe and there was a great big portion of it on the pumpernickel which was delicious! I have not tried pumpernickel before in fear of it looking a bit too…healthy but it was really good and the linseeds and chilli complimented the avocado and pumpernickel perfectly. I had it with a side of the Herbed baked beans which were marinated butter beans and they were so tasty – not your average baked beans!
To finish was a dessert to end all desserts – the Whipped cheesecake, cookie crumble, mandarin & basil. The cheesecake element was freshly whipped cream on a bed of tasty cookie crumble with a mandarin compote topped with a candied basil leaf. It was creamy, crunchy and decadent – everything you need in a pud!
The ‘bar’ is dry at The Great Chase but that doesn’t mean you miss out on any special cocktails! They have a great list of cocktails which are intricately flavoursome and will boggle your brain. We tried the Gardener’s Tonic: elderflower and sweet cicely cordial, Seedilp 108, elderflower & lemon mist with soda and the Pineapple Bay: pineapple and bayleaf cordial, fresh lime and orange juice, coconut water, Seedlip Spice ’94. The Gardener’s Tonic was fresh and zesty and the Pineapple Bay was full of flavour and spice.
They also stock some great tea from Rare Tea Company so we had the Jasmine Silver Tip and the Sencha Green Tea. Both were great and each tea on the menu comes with a lovely back story of where the leaves come from and how they’re made. The staff take great care with the tea too, serving each pot at the right temperature for the right flavour!
When eating or drinking here and especially when speaking to the staff you can see how much passion has gone into making this place and is a haven for people following a halal lifestyle. Whether you eat halal or not I defy you not to love this place – the food is great and the drinks are really something special.

Service is wonderful and the food is Michelin star style. Honestly speaking, it feels like the portion sizes have shrunk but I would go back purely for the incredible flavours and seasonal menus. Love that it's a dry bar and there's a prayer space too. Beautiful experience everytime.

Loved the food will definitely be back 🙏 I was so full didn’t have space for desert

Delicious roast. Nice twist to traditional sirloin steak. Vegetables and sides were well cooked also.
Made my Saturday.

The food is good, the place is very small and cosy, staff are GREAT! It’s literally a house converted to a restaurant but it is a good experience.
A. N.
Awesome place. Staff are pleasant and the food is on point. Every dish is thoughtfully laid out. The deconstructed desserts were intricately detailed and delicious. I'll be returning when I re-visit London.
A. J.
Food was so tasty and beautifully presented. Tables were a bit too cosy for my liking, need a bit more leg room. Loved the unique mocktails
A. R.
Great food, service and HALAL ! drinks are also fantastic. Go with a loved one!

Ok let's try being very fair here. Now firstly i tried my best not to give less than 4 stars as i really liked the concept and service. But the food on the day that i went was just not what i would call fine dining experience. I'm told by the other guests i was with that it was the menu on that day and usually its not so poor quality food. Im really disappointed to say but having paid a fair price of £35/head the food was below expectation. I wish i could say it was better than it was as clearly it has potential. It would have got a 2 for the food but the dessert was very good. So overall disappointed with mains and starters but not the desert. I hope this is seen as a constructive review.

Came here for the sunday roast, absolutely amazing.
The waiter and manager strongly emphasise that everything is halal, with no alcohol served on the premises, which is rare to come by these days.
The service was great, with the waiting staff being attentive and the food was always quick to arrive.
The food itself, and the drinks, were very well presented, and tasted delicious.
Just an FYI, they have a policy of one lamb served per two people, but that didnt affect us directly.
Definitely plan on coming back.

Wouldn't think twice visiting this awesome place. Went over the weekend with the wife for a late brunch and was amazed!! Highly recommend it to all
N. T.
No music, a bit strange. Quite a salty expensive roast but nice enough. Chicken a bit overdone, sorry to say.

Went here with my sister for my birthday dinner.the service was impeccable and the meals superseded my expectations
Q. B.
What can I say.?
Absolutely astounding food .
Beautifully cooked.
Very large portions.
Exquisitely presented.
And served very quickly.
The mash was out of this world, the portion of lamb shank was huge, and cooked perfect.
Would be nice to be able to order more lamb shanks as theres a limit on this...I'm sure there's a good reason for this, but I can always be wanting more.!
Just a shame they don't open mondays as we were only in London for a few days.
Major plus is no alcohol on site, prayer room facilities present.
Can't wait to be back

Excellent place for food with a surprising twist! Every menu item is made extraordinary with exciting flavours and the drinks are even better. Halal too! Highly recommend the Club Mate! Service is second to none and all the needs were met by our lovely hosts!

🍽|Chocolate mousse, sweet and sour strawberries and shavings of hazelnut. The second dessert is whipped cheese cake with passion fruit, with an unusual combination cookie crumble and a hint of basil, this definitely was going to be quite a treat. The whipped cheese cake dessert has to be one of my favourite I have devoured in a long time. The cheese cake defused well in my mouth effortlessly, with the passion fruit releasing a fruitful kick which unlocked the taste buds. The basil neutralised the fruitful combustion yet leaving a delicious and distinct taste. The chocolate mousse was a just brilliant with the combined strawberries and shavings of hazelnut, making my dessert simply infused with glittering sweetness.
.
💰Chocolate mousse £6.50 and whipped cheese cake was £6. The prices were a sweet treat! 🔰Currently 30% off, please visit @thegreatchaserestaurant.
.
🎭 The service was grand with the manager personally taking time out to talk to us plus giving their punters an opportunity to meet and greet the chef!
.
🛋 As the restaurant is under renovation, their presentation was still appealing and enticing.

Great little place. I initially booked in 2020 but lockdown meant we had to wait till August 2021 before we could pay a visit. It was my birthday. Service was great, staff were friendly, I even got a birthday message on my dessert (Merry Berry is best dessert i've ever had), still not happy they didn't since happy birthday though :P the steak was cooked to perfection, and the beef dripping butter was insane. First time i've ever had that, won't be the last. The staff made an effort to make sure there was nothing in the food that my wife was allergic to, even taking ingredients off her dessert to ensure she could enjoy it without worrying.
We had planned to come back a few days later but due to a death in the family we had to cut our visit short. Would definitely recommend and will be back soon.
s. C.
Lovely little place. Really enjoyed the food, beef burger was really tasty and filling. Would defo recommend.
K.
We went for their evening 3-course meal, was really impressed! Fully halal with no alcohol served on site, the food is delicious and the service was impeccable. I couldn't fault it at all from beginning to end. They even posted close by parking if you're trying to avoid the congestion charge which I thought was very helpful. Will definitely be going back again.

I got the summer drink mocktail and lamb shank roast with harissa gravy. My oh my! What a delightful treat to the tastebuds. The fusion of harissa in the gravy was amazing. The Yorkshire pudding was great as were the veggies and potatoes. The mash was so creamy and flavourful but the crown of glory goes to the lamb shank! And the service was just as good. There are some places that are jusg about the social media hype and instaworthy pictures but the service and food is awful, however, this place was just AMAZING. thank you for having us and I hope to come again soon...all thr way from the North of England...just for the roast.

In the past 2 weeks I have already been to The Great Chase twice..
The food is superb, beautifully presented, cooked and displayed.
The servers are delightful and seem genuinely passionate and happy to be there.
I went with my sister, and I have never experienced better customer service.
Eating at The Great Chase is truly a culinary experience, it’s genuine halal fine dining, without the snobbery or over-inflated price tag - it’s simply a truly wonderful cosy and amazing restaurant.
Every single dish we have had has been delightful, but absolute favourites include the tempura prawn starter, the delicious roast with melt in the mouth Angus sirloin steak.. and if you can, do try the slow roast Lancashire lamb shank - it is the most luscious and succulent meat!
Delicious sides also, Yorkshire puddings light and fluffy the size of my head. And poetry could be written about the dark chocolate fondant with chocolate ice cream…
The non alcoholic cocktails are inspired - I have not tasted drinks as delicious, sophisticated and well thought out.
Also - beautiful touches like the prayer room, and only supporting businesses that have ethical principles make The Great Chase truly special.
I will be going again, and again… then again some more. One of the absolute best dining experiences in London.

British halal fine dining menu. Great service , great cuisine and atmosphere.
A. K.
Simply amazing! I really feel as if the Great Chase has found a gap in the market - good quality, halal, cosy. As others have mentioned, the venue is small but I like this as it makes the place more homely and welcoming. The food is just amazing - although not cheap I think it is exceptional value for money. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I'd highly recommend for people to support this business as they really do look after you from the minute you step through the door. I'm not much of a loose leaf tea fan but my wife really likes how they've paired up their food with tea and it's definitely worth trying.
D.
Really good experience. Lovely starters. Steak was definitely worth it, try the beef dripping butter if you dare!
D. H.
Amazing food and incredibly personal service. Everything here is halal amd the guys that own it run it in a 100% ethical way which you have to admire.
S. R.
The best Roast dinner in town!!! Absolutely worth every penny. I can’t wait to try their midweek menu. Beautiful food and amazing service. Trust me you won’t be disappointed.
S. F. H.
The softest moreish lamb shanks ever. Lived every bite.
S. M. H.
Simply delcious. Halal, wholesome and free-range. Well done to the owners who ethically source their products and contribute to their local community.
F. S.
I ate here about a week ago with my wife and kids. We had the roast menu options, they were fantastic, If I am being slightly picky, the gravy could have had a little more depth to it. That said, I haven't had a better roast eating out. The service was exceptional. Will and Nico took good care of us. We will return!
A. M.
Every bit of my roast beef dinner was cooked to perfection and perfectly flavoured. Finally a proper halal roast dinner in London!
R. K.
best sunday roast ive had....service and atmosphere was brilliant...booked my next visit before i left
F. R.
Lovely experience from booking the table, service, awaiting food, to the quality of food. I dined on the weekend so had the roast menu (beef of course) lovely meat with sides. I dislike butternut squash and when I saw the mash (love mash potatoes) had butternut sqush, I was gutted, however it worked really well. Really enjoyed my meal. Great place, great service, I'll race you there.
C. H.
Great cosy brunch spot! Walked in no booking meet by friendly staff - fantastic chicken burger & eggs royale 👌Service was a bit too lax for our preference
D. K.
Great food, actually felt like I was in master chef.
Can't believe this is 100% Halal, ethical and alcohol free.
Great place, great taste!
See you soon.
J. B.
My sisters and I just had the most fabulous evening at The Great Chase which I’ve been meaning to try for ages.
Nico ran through the menu and I loved the idea of pairing a herbal Lapsang souchong tea with my course which was the lamb shank roast dinner with all the trimmings including a huge Yorkshire pudding, nom nom!
The cocktail list was well thought out for those who don’t like to drink alcohol but do want to get adventurous.
The prawn tempura to start was a delight and chocolate fondue was perfectly soft in the middle
I could tell that the menu was well researched and sustainably sourced. The chef is a Michelin starred chef and that was well reflected in each dish.
Thank you for a lovely evening!

Possibly one of the best meals/roasts I've ever had in my life.
It was so good that I booked lunch the next day, two days in a row.
The food is sublime, the service and the atmosphere is wonderful because of the incredible staff and THE MOST incredible Co-owner. I have never come across anyone who is so passionate about what he does and his staff!
The ingredients are terrific and sourced from incredible places. Everything tastes divine.
If may be my new obsession for 2020.
Thank you!!!
Y. A.
Genuinely one of, if not the best roasts I’ve ever had. I had the sirloin, while my girlfriend had the lamb shank. The portions were very generous, and all the flavours worked so well. On top of that, the atmosphere and customer service was great - super friendly people. Would definitely recommend this place for everyone!
S. E.
Went over to this lovely restaurant on a Sunday for a roast. The staff were amazing and the venue is top tier. Would definitely recommend for a date and certainly go again!
B. A.
Really good experience, came on a whim after reading a review and being in the area.
We were welcomed and given an introduction of the resturant and its ethos.
We ordered the lamb and beef roasts and two house lemonade. Both were good with a nice portion size.
Would recommend and be back again for the lamb roast.
G. A.
Amazing experience. Definitely going back another day. Big variety of different kinds of food, drinks. Just amazing, worth it!
s. b.
Excellent service. Food is delicious.
M. M.
Was told they did Sunday roast on Saturday too as it was so popular so had to go and try it. Honestly the best lamb roast I've had, the butternut squash mash is so creamy and the Yorkshire puddings were big and full of flavor. The lamb comes medium which is just how I like it and will say you won't find a better roast lunch anywhere in London, bonus points for it being halal. I saved a bit of room for dessert and saw apple crumble on menu and had to go for it and not disappointed :-).
D. H.
The food is really nice here, very good flavours the only down side is the portions are very small not enough food for the money paid, 10* on taste just could be better portions
I.
A great place to eat. Very cozy place to dine. Had a limited menu when I went due to COVID-19 but it was still plenty (and now they have reverted to their normal menu.) Their waiters are very enthusiastic and they are incredibly helpful. And the food is out of this world. I would highly recommend visiting this place. It is an outstanding experience. Would undoubtedly visit again. Would most likely visit more than once.
I. S.
amazing food experience, friendly staff, chilled atmosphere.
I ordered a full English brunch, a simple dish but it felt like a Michelin star food experience. The ingredients felt fresh and prepared with care and mastery, the arrangement of the dish looked amazing. The manager who came for a quick chat was friendly and sounded really genuine about his project with a great view and a passion to deliver top notch food in a relaxed set-up. The bonus is that the food is halal for those who care about this. The restaurant was really relaxed with chilled urban vibe and the clientele looked diverse and friendly
A. w. K.
One of the best dine in’s in for a while. Food was perfect and hit the spot.
R. B.
One of the owners works at the front house and was very pleasant and accommodating - the waiters were perfectly nice too, however when requested to change table one of them didn't even ask and said we can't - and the other actually checked for us and managed to get us a different table (the original one was right by the kitchen) - the starter, dessert and drinks were great, so was the ricotta pepper snack - the main wasn't to my liking maybe just due to preference
M.
Liked the food and drinks. Only went because they do halal Sunday roast which was alright. Bit salty though.
S. H.
Went for a Sunday roast with a friend today and it was just amazing! The restaurant is 100% halal ie all halal meat and no alcohol is served onsite. A good selection of non alcoholic cocktails and soft drinks are available and we were happy with our choices. I ordered the roast beef and my friend ordered the roast chicken and both came with similar trimmings.
The meat was obviously the star of the show but the trimmings of roasted veg (potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, parsnip) was done perfectly, and the huge, crispy, doughy Yorkshire had me fall in love at first bite. The apple raspberry and oat crumble served with vanilla ice cream and orange curd rounded the meal off. The whole thing was truly delicious!
I’ll definitely be back for the Sunday roast since excellent, halal ones are not easy to come by. Would also love to try their other menu one of these days.
Service was great, swift and friendly. Well done guys!
S. A. S.
A truly amazing place for anyone who appreciates good food. I'd wanted to visit for a while and finally got the chance on Sunday and it was definitely worth the wait. Tried the beef Sunday roast and ended up eating most of my sisters lamb shank sunday roast too as the portion was just too big for her (all the more for me). The food presentation and taste is just incredible. It's amazing to see a restaurant where so much attention is paid to detail. The service is also of a very high standard. Fair to say I will definitely want to visit this place again. I just wish I lived closer to London so I could visit more often.
A. S.
Fantastic experience! Took my mum for dinner and we were both blown away by the whole place. Customer service was fantastic, they showed a real passion and care for the food they served and explained everything from how their ingredients were sourced to why they chose to put it on the menu. The fact that the food and cocktails were also amazing was just a bonus! Overall, will definitely be coming back again!
D. J.
My husband took me out for a lovely meal at the great chase and everything I tried was delicious.
C. O.
Just left the restaurant and I had to write a review.
Had the set menu, starter main and dessert, all was delicious!
The shank was the best shank I've ever had, so much flavour and sooo tender.
My husband had the roasted red mullet and he really enjoyed it too.
Overall everything was tasty and the staff was very friendly 10/10
If you want 5star halal fine dining with excellent service then this is the place to be.
They also have a prayer room which is a bonus!
R. A.
We love every visit to The Great Chase. The Sunday roast is absolutely incredible, every ingredient is just as delicious as the next. The waiters were very friendly and knowledgeable. As it is quite cosy in there it is advisable to book.
A. K.
Ordered from their Sunday Roast menu, got the slow cooked lamb shank - it was flavoursome, succulent and just slid off the bone! The parsnips, garnish, potatoes and tenderstem were amazing, particularly with the mustard sauces, butternut Squash and gravy.
The ice cream was really nice and we were offered an extra on the house :)
Only reason I hadn't given the full 5 stars is, although I believe the main course was well worth the money (£25), the drinks definitely well overpriced for what they were, so was the tea. Also the toilets were an absolute state, and very unsanitary.
Overall, I recommend anyone to try this place and will be letting my friends know!
H. F.
Ethically sourced Halal High Quality Dining with a dry bar serving amazing seasonal concoctions and cordials.
S. M.
Good quality food however not 5 star due to limited menu.
We visited sunday even with a limited menu they ran out of the lamb shank.
Will be going back on a weekday to sample the main menu.
Q. M.
Rich and full flavour, though expensively small portions. However, to be expected considering the calibre of what is sought here. That being said, I'd say rather than go for any of the smaller meals, if affordable go for the steak. Get your moneys worth. I've had the lamb and beef cheek here. Lamb was succulent and done rare and wonderfully seared. The beef cheek was a bit too overdone IMO but still delicious. The vegetable sides are amazing and well flavoured too.
L. I.
Superb Sunday lunch, the best I've eaten in a restaurant for a very long time. The puddings were also very good, though there were only a few options, there was enough of a choice to satisfy all the diners in my party. Ethically sourced food, friendly informal atmosphere and attentive staff. Highly recommended. I am definitely going back.
L. b. Z.
Absolutely enjoyed the meal at the Great Chase. I ordered the Beef with Carrots Three Ways (OMG). The beef was so tender and soft, the marinade on the beef served to enhance the flavour not mask the flavour of the beef. The portion at first seemed small, but it was actually quite filling. I loved the carrot puree (I savoured every bite). My friend had the fried chicken burger and it was quite light and not very heavy which was great. The service is wonderful, they checked on us often, though it would have been nice to have the water refilled. The ambiance of the restaurant is quaint and cozy. For those who are concerned that there is no pork or alcohol on the menu - I think it's great to expand culinary horizons and venture away from things you are normally used to :)
S. H.
What a wonderful restaurant that not only provides delicious food and excellent service, but one that feels so homely and warm which makes the experience that much better.
A. K.
Went there on Saturday evening and the food was amazing! The staff were all very kind, the place was clean and hand sanitisers were given to anyone entering the restaurant. We were lucky we had the chance to order the roasted meals which were amazing! Will have to go back another time for sure.
F. H.
Amazing food and very friendly staff. Definitely recommend the pulled lamb for a starter.
I. K.
My family and I were pleasantly surprised by this little restaurant. It’s in a residential road set back a little, the food is completely halal, no alcohol sold, the service is very good. The ONLY downside, I felt the restaurant needs a little updating, and the toilets need sorting out. Otherwise a fab place to stop for tasty morsels.
A. R.
We dined here recently for date night without the kids and it was perfect. There isnt much space inside for prams etc so we were very glad we didn't have the kids with us. Having said that, there were quite a few families with children dining that day so it's definitely doable. We loved everything we ordered and my husband loved the dry bar! The service is great too!
F. A. C.
Absolutely fantastic! Different and unusual combination of flavours that totally work. We had the chicken and steak. They have the most awesome cocktails with unique flavours made Just for the restaurant. Their desserts are paired with speciality teas and are a perfect match- try the cornflakes ice cream. A little pricey but food quality is top notch
a. e.
The food and service was amazing. However, my mother and I did not feel like our food was hot, more on the warm side. I also feel like the decor is a bit of a let down. The flooring in our little seating booth was loose and wobbly and the place generally looks in need of a touch up. Maybe that's the theme they're going for but it could be executed better.
S. C.
As always, incredibly tasty well presented food. This is one of the few restaurants I noticed are serious about following covid guidelines, making us feel super safe and comfortable!
K. O.
My husband and I had the best experience, from the delicious food to the exceptional hospitality shown by the owners. The atmosphere was lovely and we honestly couldn't fault the dishes as the flavours were spot on. We wish you guys all the best and hope to see you expanding and achieving one success after another.
P.s The Nougat dessert was just out of this world!
J. D.
I very rarely leave reviews unless somewhere is amazing or is terrible. This restaurant is definitely amazing. Very small so you need to book in advance. Wonderful food (lamb shank was particularly good), great service, lovely ambience, great fresh ingredients... it's alcohol free and they do really good quality non-alcoholic cocktails and alcohol alternatives. The best restaurant I've visited in years. Absolutely loved it and will be back soon.
N. K.
Highly recommend. Small restaurant but unique concept, HIGHLY attentive and very friendly service. Food was delicious. Excellent combination of flavours on the plate. Recommend the lamb shank with miso + buttermilk, chicken was beautiful and the cheesecake with chocolate crumb and melon coulis was also gorgeous!
C. O.
Friendly service, courteous, felt well looked after even in Covid times. Measures taken to limit contact without being too clinical.
Food was excellent, goat and beet starter beautifully light but boosting flavour. Steak cooked perfectly, juicy and tender, shiitake mushrooms and peppercorn sauce equally as good.
Chocolate fondant dessert also another winner for chocolate lovers like myself, gooey, warm, creamy and crunchy all in one plate.
Thank you The Great Chase for offering an alternative, Halal and Alcohol Free with ethically sourced ingredients. 👍🏻
H. S.
Superb food, great menu. Felt like i was dining at the shard. Would be great to see a bigger restaurant in the near future! Thank you
s. A.
Came for brunch. Absolutely delicious food, possibly the best halal food in London and most of all the service from the staff was excellent, both members of staff who served us were attentive and polite. The tea menu was fantastic and staff helped to pair tea with the desserts. Nice cosy atmosphere. The prices are reasonable and worth every penny. Recommend booking as the place filled up very quickly.
T.
Amazing food and great atmosphere. I really enjoyed the Prawn Tempura and the buttermilk chicken burger, really delicious. Staff were friendly and very attentive. I have been there couple of times before and jave always enjoyed the food and this time it was even better.
M. A.
Fantastic food and service. The Sunday roast and the desserts were magical. Looking forward to our next visit to try the evening menu.
H. B.
THE best place I've ever eaten at.
Food Quality 12/10 - The quality, the flavours, the thought that's gone into each plate, the freshness wow wow wow!
Drinks all non Alcoholic and so refreshing, each sip bursts full of flavours
Service - The owner was present to describe just how much passion and the lengths they've gone to get the food to this standard. Lovely approachable chilled halal fine dining!
*went on my anniversary wife loved it!
W. S.
What stays with you about the Great Chase is it’s awesome food. They have nailed their starters and mains - the roast chicken (only served on Sundays) is sublime. Desserts need a bit more refining, for example the crumble I tried needed more topping and less fruit to balance the tartness.
It’s a tiny restaurant, but they’ve made the most of the space available. It’s pleasant decor, quirky and homely. One area I think needs a little work is the service, to really round off the experience. With a bit more polish and attention to customers needs this will be a top rated restaurant.
Fully halal (certified) and dry bar available.
s. k.
Amazing service food was excellent would definitely come again
S.
Delicious chicken roast, filling and tasty. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting halal options. Will be sure to return in the week for the weekday menu.
G. M.
We came here for a halal meal just before a theatre performance. Rib eye steak was supposed to be medium but overcooked and tough, rather lacking in flavour. My sister had Boneless chicken leg, cooked very nicely and flavoursome. Some friends had the lamb chops, very nicely cooked, and the beef cheek, it was superb. Roast potatoes were awesome, fluffy and crispy. But we didn't come for the sides. Food is average and I think a bit overpriced. Garnishing on the plates were 'interesting' as I don't think popcorn is any kind of accompaniment to the mains! For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse, beautifully smooth and flavour without being sickly (I'd suggest they didn't sprinkle it with coco pops as it brought down the sophistication of th e dessert) but the tuille had a hint of chilli which was unexpected and added a little heat. Very nice! The apple crumble was amazing, homely and filling, both desserts a must. The friends had Jasmine tea which was served in a very special way, the tea itself had a light delicate flavour, again another must. The mocktails were lovely, we had the BnT and the Venice Spritz. Sharp flavours but wonderful on the palate with the food!
The service was brilliant. The guys who run it are extremely welcoming and friendly, aiming to please. It made us want to be there and to be honest, also the reason why I didn't complain about he food and ask them to fix my steak, so totally not their fault. (It's a small independent run business and it would be costly to cook another one.) Overall, a lovely experience and start to our theatre evening, but overpriced. It cost close to £100 for 2 for a 2 course meal with 2 mocktails.
Z.
Beautiful place with a halal food and a prayer room the workers are lovely - would come again next time in london!
M. A. W.
The service at The Great Chase is fantastic. The food is on another level! Very well balanced meals which have complimentary drinks to choose from. You can tell the food is carefully curated and the quality of the food is great. I am already planning to visit again for Brunch and Christmas dinner. The good thing about The Great Chase is the menu changes per season, so your food experience will change each time. Highly recommend!
P. H.
What a great little restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed an amazing meal with friends and we'll certainly be returning. The proprietor happily took time to explain the ethos behind his restaurant and we couldn't fault it. As well as great food, they also offer a fantastic selection of non-alcoholic cocktails and speciality teas. The Cornish peppermint tea is totally refreshing. Overall, a superb dining experience in a cosy, welcoming space.
S. I.
Great friendly service and amazing food.
Would highly recommend.
A. C.
great food but v.friendly staff made it better, amazing spot where more people should check out
A. A.
Great Local Spot also the food is Halal and they don’t serve alcohol which is something I prefer for own reasons.
Starters : goat and beet + prawns = ticked ✅ the boxes loved both of them
Main: Lamb Shank + burger burger = really enjoyed both tbh no complaints whatsoever
Drinks: water + Pineapple Express = Really tasty mocktail 👌🏽
Desert: fondant + Crumble = I was to full but that was the initial plan
Staff: very friendly and definitely worth tipping them
Hygiene: very clean I like the style as it’s different to my usual spots.
Gonna be back and try other bits also save space for the desert if possible

My family and I had iftar at The Great Chase recently after reading the reviews on Google. We were not disappointed. The food was excellent and the whole setup for breaking our fast was very thoughtful. We had a leisurely meal with each course spread across 2 hours. The friendliness of the owner and his ideas for the restaurant are definitely a USP. Will definitely visit again next time we visit London from our home in Leicester.

I went for the Sunday roast and I was blown away. The lamb was melt in your mouth good but everything on the plate was delicious. The vegetables and the Yorkshire pudding. Well worth the price, I would definitely go again. And forall of it to be halal? Bonus points!!
C. M.
Delicious food - very refined and intricate. Great service too, only drawback was seating a little uncomfortable
H. C.
Genuinely ecstatic with my visit to The Great Chase, from the warm welcoming staff who happened to be the owners down to the marvellous food we were served. The Sunday roast beef was awesome, whilst my partner had the lamb shank which she was thoroughly pleased with, I don’t normally go back to a place twice but i ended up going back the following week and I left with the same satisfaction, the owners deserve huge credit, down to earth, helpful and exceeded expectations.

Amazing.
Great customer service. Staff were super friendly and welcoming.
Great food. One of the best roasts I’ve had.
Everything is halal and alcohol free. Will definitely be returning.

I visited The Great Chase on the evening of Good Friday. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was able to learn about the concept behind the restaurant. The environment is very warm and cosy. I had the cherry amour non-alcoholic drink which was very nice and sweet. For the main I had the chicken breast option. The chicken breast was perfectly cooked and not dry. I highly recommend the restaurant and will return for brunch.
S. M.
Excellent restaurant and great value for money too. Food was delicious. It is the second time I have eaten here and I have not been disappointed with the food. The restaurant is on the small side and is quite basic looking but what it lack in aesthetics it makes up for in taste. Its hard to come by Halal fine dining like this. I will definitely be visiting again.
S. A.
Starter and dessert lovely. I had rack if lamb for main which was 2 very fatty lamb chops. Staff very nice.
A. A.
Best Halal restaurant I have been to so far.

Amazing place food was very tasty. They even have a prayer room throughly impressed definitely coming here again

Small cute place. It's best to book before you go! I went for my birthday meal, the staff were amazing and the food was delicious, the choices on the menu are limited but I think that's what makes the dishes all so amazing, the quality is 100% there. The prices are reasonable for the food you get and all food and drinks are halal. Yay!! One thing I will say is, if you can't make your booking, call and cancel. It is a small place and it will make a big difference to the restaurant and allow someone else to have a great meal.
H. K.
Amazing service, food cooked to perfection. Such a knowledgeable and attentive host. Felt like i was home. Booked for the iftar menu & was not disappointed. My 8yo loved all his courses from the prawns @ starters, BBC chicken for mains and his dessert. Sorry no pics too busy enjoying the ambience and food.

Beautiful little place.
The menu is halal: be aware no pork or alcohol is served. What they do serve however is fantastic, packed with flavour and beautifully presented. Loved the smoky beans. Non alcoholic cocktails and a large tea selection is available. The staff deserves a mention: truly lovely, passionate guys.

Our first time to the restaurant. It's a great place, intimate atmosphere, warm welcoming host and detailed explanation of the menus. The service was excellent, good precautionary covid19 measures (sanitiser gel, social distancing, mask) and food was lovely. Highly recommended!

Epic experience, this is fine dining at its best - and in the most welcoming and hospitable environment. Food was exquisite, from the lamb steak to the desserts and drinks, it really is a delight to eat here and feel so well looked after by the incredible staff. We made our way through starters, mains, desserts and drinks and were just so impressed throughout. The Great Chase is also wonderfully open about their dedication to halal and tayyib cuisine, which is a tremendously admirable feat and they've hit the nail on the head with their approach. Each dish is a brilliantly thought-out work of art, delicious and a balance of the most delicate flavours - and the restaurant itself is so warm and 'homey' that you just don't feel like leaving. Highly recommended. Take people you love the company of, you'll want to be there for a while! :)

The website explained the values and ethical nature of their dishes and mission and this really appealed to me. Upon visiting, we all recieved very professional, warm and accommodating customer service and this is something we value a lot. The dishes were delicious and it is clear the staff take pride in how they treat its customers as well as the level of pride they put into their dishes too. Drinks were wonderful too, first time visiting at a 'dry' bar and was very pleasanty surprised - not your usual line up of mocktails but unique tastes that had us all ordering more to try.
Wonderful gem in London, we had a great time and hope to be back soon.
Thanks all at TGC, my husband had a lovely celebration meal!

My friend and I decided to dine here due to glowing reviews from our other friends, and let me tell you - it went above and beyond our already lofty expectations!
The restaurant itself is cosy and quaint. We were seated straight away and approached by one of the owners of the establishment. He was very warm and enthusiastic; he even took us through each menu item and the story behind it's creation. The amount of care and dedication that has gone in to creating these dishes is extraordinary. All ingredients are of exceptional quality, and the meat is all halal, grass fed and locally sourced. We went the whole way and ordered starters, a main course and dessert. Every course was faultless. The staff very kindly gave us two glasses of non alcoholic rosé on the house!
This was a wonderful experience and I can't recommend it enough. I've already made plans to come back again.
A.
Burger was great, as was the coffee. Great little find. It's halal too! They do mocktails
S. A.
Visited for a lunch date for 2 after having wanted to go for a long while. Restaurant is small but perfectly formed with a cosy ambience and relaxed vibe. The food was amazing and the service brilliant. The mocktails are by far the best we have ever tasted and are made with care and attention. The burgers were tasty and satisfying and the desserts with matching tea recommendations rounded off the whole experience perfectly. You can feel that the owners care about their food and the experience of their diners and go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed. Definitely one to visit again to try the dinner menu!
I. G.
Arguably the best fine dining Halal restaurant I have dined in.
The service is excellent, attentive, polite and warm.
The non alcoholic drinks/mocktails are fruitful and complimentary to the food available. NONE OF THAT CHEAP SYRUP STUFF!
The food selection is 'quality over quantity'. Each dish is brilliantly presented and chef's passion is witnessed in each dish.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and highly recommend visiting this cosy restaurant.
Z. C.
Lovely food and attentive service.
I visited today with my family. We enjoyed the roast dinners, unusual cocktails and decadent deserts. This is my third visit and I will definitely be returning.
H. F.
Chicken burger got to finals of UK burger competition and is outstanding; avocado & poached eggs looked excellent too. 4 page tea menu for those who are connoisseurs. Staff who are passionate and knowledgeable about their menu. Ingredients are as locally sourced and organic as possible (and halal). Great non-alcoholic cocktails. Doesn’t have any alcohol in case that’s what you’re after. Highly recommend!
B. B.
The best restaurant you've never been to! The staff are wonderful and bend over backwards to make sure you have an excellent experience. As for the food, I struggled to pick as the menu was so wonderful...what I did end up having was excellent. TRY the teas and TRY the virgin cocktails, you seriously won't be disappointed.
NB. Very handsome bartender.
U. K.
Amazing food... Amazing setting...no complaints.
M. A.
Loved this place! The food was beautiful, dare I say even better than my Yorkshire roast in Yorkshire! The staff are super friendly, informative and really take pride in what they do which is wonderful to see. 100% would recommend!
j. v.
Best Sunday roast in London! Everything was perfectly cooked and veggies were delicious. Worth noting they don't serve alcohol, but they have a great selection of alcohol free cocktails
A. L.
Great place for roast and super service. Is small and well served. Enthusiastic staff who are not overbearing but keep the right level of knowledge and check how you are. Liked the spicy lemon drink. Food arrived in a short time and well presented. Great place which close to Angel so easy to find.
Really want to try the steak and day menu now
G. G.
I had my doubts before going but the great chase had left a lasting impression. The ambience and welcoming atmosphere was great, but the effort put into the quality of the food deserves special mention. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive and my nephew loved the tricks one of the waiters had up his sleeve. I'll be coming back for sure
Z. J.
My husband and I decided to check out this restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. It is located in a quiet area, there is parking outside. There's also a prayer room inside which is convenient. Although we made a reservation earlier we presumed it might have been busy but thankfully it wasn't packed. It was a calm and welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted very warmly and the service was on point. The waiter made the effort to inform us thoroughly on the types of teas we were ordering which was a lovely touch. I mainly went to try out the dry bar, being Muslim and non alcoholics, however I didnt manage to. We went at 2.15pm and I didnt realise that the reservation I had made would mean we only get access to the brunch menu. At first this was a disappointment I was looking forward to their steak or smoked mackerel however the full English breakfast I ordered really made me overlook it. It was delicious. My husband ordered a chicken burger which I thought was "boring" however it tasted amazing. There wasn't many options to choose from but I guess that's subjective to peoples likes. I heard someone else behind me saying that they liked the menu as they don't like having to choose from a wide variety of options. One thing that could be updated could be the menu, which is stapled printouts - although this may be part of their "touch". We ordered an "Emperor's tea" and a "Cloud Tea" which tasted so good. We had this served in mini teapots and topped up a second time when our desserts came. I ordered the pear, apple and rhubarb crumble with ice cream. Again tasted delicious. I couldn't fault the food at all. Bill came to £54 which is a pricey brunch in my opinion. But it's nice for once in a while. I wanted to try one of their drinks to take out but was told they dont do that and due to not having enough room to stomach another drink I left it. I will be going back to try that and the evening menu for sure.

I’ve been to The Great Chase twice in the last year and both times have loved the food, the vibe and the service. This week I went for the iftar dinner with a friend, this was made SO logistically easy (prayer space and dates) and the food and drink was delicious. My personal fave was the crumble dessert (honestly one of the best crumbles I’ve had) and the faux rose drink. Would definitely recommend
J. A.
Traditional British food with great flavours, top quality ingredients and all Halal. Very friendly staff and cosy restaurant. Don't miss the FOUR page menu of rare teas. Just a short walk from Angel tube station. Pictures are from the Brunch menu. Need to go back and try the Dinner menu.

Such high quality food. Wish we could have stayed for the full three course meal. Really recommend it for fine dining
O.
Cute restaurant, intimate and cosy. Brilliant staff, helpful and knowledgeable. Buttermilk chicken burger was lovely and crispy, the aioli was nice too. Coffee was also great and the crumble pudding was amazing. Definitely will visit again. Great halal British dining.

Went here in Jan 2019. Really lovely atmosphere and the staff are incredible, extremely knowledgable and friendly - we ended up being served by the owner and didn't realise it, no airs and graces.
The steak and lamb ribs were very tender and delicious. The duck was a little fatty which I'm not the biggest fan of, but that was probably my fault ordering a such a fatty main. The crumble dessert was also lovely- fresh, butterly and hot with ice cream. The starters were light and delicate - the goats cheese tart had sharp and clean flavours and the crunchy lamb was meaty.
I also really appreciated the 'dry bar'. Being able to order something other than soft drinks and mocktails was such a lovely change and fed into the fine dining experience.
As halal European fine dining is not something that is always accessible, this dinner was definitely interesting and introduced us to different flavours. This place is definitely worth checking out - great concept, atmosphere, service and high standard of food.
I really recommend - The Great Chase is an example of 'you get what you pay for.'
A. N.
Had a fantastic time at the Great Chase... I had heard that this place was a bit of a best kept secret by some foodie friends of mine and had to see for myself. I have to say that the food was sublime and the service excellent. The restaurant doesn’t serve alcohol but don’t let that deter you. Cleverly the Great chase has filled this gap by providing a exquisite non alchy cocktails and a diverse selection of exotic tea’s. These were intoxicating enough and really added something unique to the evening. truly superb.

3.5-4 (I can't decide...)
A quaint little place right next to City University (oh the good old days).
Went for the Sunday roast, had the lamb shank, but also tried the beef from a party member's plate. Both came with plenty on the plate, though an extra beef slice would have topped off that plate perfectly.
The lamb shank was quite nice but a little salty in places. I can't tell if the gravy was salty too but the Yorkshire pudding was too salty for me. A little less salt overall and it'd been perfect. The beef I tried seemed fine, however.
Also tried the fondant and a French toast. Fondant was great, gooey with a nice ball of ice-cream covered in cornflakes (I think?). The French toast was also quite tasty though very caramelised and nutty, so may not be for everyone.
Oh, I should mention cost. Yeah, it's a wee bit expensive, so best saved for an occasion. It's roughly £25 for the roast, £4+ for the selection of teas, and then other things. So not the cheapest end, but sometimes you should treat yourself, or others.
Wait staff were friendly and accommodating, especially to allergies, providing recommendations and such, which was immensely helpful and quality in terms of service. Recommended an adorable kid sized roast for the child. Super cute! It's also plentiful too.
You can make a reservation (but not for the roast itself, just tables). Didn't know that before hand. The place looks like it does get plenty busy, so keep this in mind.
All in all, I would go back in the future for a nice (halal) roast.

Quick brunch before going to Sadler's Wells. Fresh ingredients and delicious food. I enjoyed avocado on sourdough with poached egg, almonds, mozzarella pearls and spices. Great selection of teas and my companion said that the crumble was yummy. Shame the coffee machine was out of order. However, excellent selection of teas and other drinks. Friendly and helpful staff.

Had a truly memorable dinner last Saturday. I never post reviews but the food was superb and the service very friendly and warm. I do hope this gem of a restaurant survives the current crisis caused by COVID-19

There is really no other reaturant in London quite like The Great Chase . Not only is it 100% halal, the ambiance, the service, the delicious, intricate and mouth watering dishes presented to me during my evening were nothing short of spectacular.
S. A.
This is a great fine dining, fully halal restaurant. Although the interior is small and simple, it's food is well thought out and made with love with good quality ingredients. It made for a great fine dining experience. There are a range of menus including a brunch and Sunday roast (which is what I tried) as well as a fully non alcoholic bar (dry bar). The prices can be quite steep but it is to be expected for the quality and location. The place is located 5-10 mins from Angel station. Parking is limited as is expected and restrictions apply. I would dine here again and try something different.

More than just delicious!

Had a nice beef Burger with some very tasty chilli fries. My friend had a chicken burger which was super bland however. Nice little place. Will visit again if I am near by but I wouldn’t make a special trip as it’s a bit far.
S. Y.
This restaurant has been really well thought out, everything - from the meat to the tea - is great quality and organically as well as ethically sourced. The owner seemed very pleasant, the service was good and the price very reasonable. Thank you for a lovely brunch, will definitely recommend to others and come back in the future!
J. N.
Wonderful little restaurant serving excellently cooked and well presented modern English, European and fusion dishes.
Halal and booze free but definitely not to be thought of as simply a "halal restaurant" if your experience of that tends towards kebab shops and curry houses - this is real, high quality, diverse modern cooking which just happens to be halal, so think of it as a bonus feature rather than the main point if you are Islamic or with a mixed group including Muslim friends.
Plus the bar menu, while alcohol free, includes a large range of alcohol free cocktails and drinks which actually taste like they are for grownups (making clever use of herbaceous elements and spritzes of fruit vinegar) rather than just being the usual range of sugar-bomb mixed fruit juice "mocktails". And that's not even starting on the huge range of after-dinner high quality teas, all explained in detail by the staff and individually served with water carefully measured to be the precisely correct temperature to perfectly extract that particular blend.
A. H.
Really don’t know where to begin with this place. I booked a table for 6 and wrote in that it was a surprise birthday party. We arrived early and they were so amazingly discreet about the other 4 who were coming late they rearranged the seating to make it seem like we were the only ones at dinner. When the rest of the party came, it was a surprise. They were absolutely amazing. The food is just so delicious and their dry bar is everything you’ve ever dreamed of. I absolutely love this place I’d come here all the time if I lived a little bit closer.
Also if you do go YOU MUST TRY THEIR TEAS
L. Y.
Sooooo gooooood 🤤🤤🤤🤤🤤 Best Sunday roast we've had in London!
I. S.
Very few restaurants in London can profess to be truly unique but to my knowledge "The Great Chase" can genuinely "steak" their claim; halal fine dining without alcohol as ingredient nor accompaniment.
However, it would be a dis"service" to the establishment to leave it there. They are not simply cashing in on the expanding halal pound with a formulaic eatery but the dining experience stands on its own merit.
From the moment I entered, I got the impression that the staff share an affection for food that briefly made me want to be an item on their menu. The waiter mixed up a fancy looking off-menu mocktail for my wife and seemed genuinely delighted when she ordered another. I briefly embrassed myself by trying to suck a sample of the beverage through what was not a straw but a sprig of rosemary.
The dry aged sirloin was of excellent quality and it's ingestion was greatly aided by a spicy miso sauce which had a rich umami flavour. The beef dripping butter was a bit too much and much to my gallbladder's relief I avoided after an initial taste.
The chocolate pecan brownie is clearly the pride of their gastronomic creativity. The plate is adnored with an array of fruit sorbets and mousses and it was genuinely a shame to have to destroy their artistry and scoff the lot.
If you enjoy food, whether you eat halal or not, I heartily recommend this gem of a restaurant.
As a parent of a boisterous 3 year-old and a fidgety 8 year-old, I would avoid bringing them here, particularly in the evening, as the restaurant is intimate in size. However, we all need to be considerate of each other and we were all small at one time.
U. Q.
My second time at this wonderful establishment. The food was exceptional and complimented with equally good service. The owner is passionate and committed to providing an experience par excellence and in the halal sector where alcohol is not served (and to my knowledge not BYOB), The Great Chase has certainly set the bar very high indeed. I look forward to my next visit!
A. A.
Just come back from the place. The decor, the food is authentic. Mabrook, the owner is clearly very passionate about quality. Sourcing ingredients from the rarest of places.
The bone marrow sauce was the best sauce I've had.
I would recommend anyone to go there.
N. B.
My Buttermilk Fried Chicken Burger was delicious and beautifully plated. Eggs Benedict were great and the service was friendly and accommodating.
One of the best restaurants in London.
M. D.
The food was great as always, made even better by the warm and welcoming staff, and relaxing ambience of the restaurant even though it looked to be at full capacity.
The waiter took his time to go through tea recommendations to go with the dinner menu and he was spot on. Highly recommended and the bonus being everything on the menu is halal!
Thanks guys for making a special day even better!
A. I.
HALAL AND ALCOHOL FREE. Absolutely top class. Gorgeous little hidden gem in central London. The lamb was just stunning. Can’t wait to return and try everything on the menu. Service was also impeccable.
A. S.
Very cosy little joint. Fully halal menu and teetotal too. The food was amazing - tastes and textures were gorgeous. We’re going back again to try their brunch menu !

Me and my family dined at the great chase for my brothers birthday on 25th September. I am pleased to say we had a fantastic experience start to finish. We were greeted by one of the owners , who was attentive and kind all evening. Gave us a very heartfelt and genuine explanation of the concepts behind the restaurant and the vision him and his partner had around seasonality , quality and ethical sourcing which also happens to cater to the halal market !!
Starters
Octopus - one of the best dishes of the night , crispy , with a great spice without compromising the freshness of the octopus
Scallops and oxtail croquettes
Fantastic ! Fresh scallop and melt in your mouth , rich , fatty oxtail
Chicken ravioli, tasty but not best dish of the lot
Mains
Lamb shank - sous vide I believe and finished with a rose harissa glaze . Tender ! Without being dry
Red mullet with mussel and chorizo paella
Fantastically seared fish , very fresh and tasty paella !
Buttermilk chicken burger
KFC eat your heart out . One of the best chicken burgers around imo !.
Desserts
All of the desserts standout and unique , shoutout to the cornflakes ice cream which put a smile on everyones face !
Would recommend 100% especially if you are looking for something different and are a halal meat consumer , dry bar is also great . With sophisticated and well thought out non alcoholic drinks
A.
Genuinely the best roast dinner i have ever had
The lamb falls off the bone and is so tasty
The service is amazing the people are friendly.
A truly hidden gem in london !!!
Will be back soon

The welcome, atmosphere etc were all top notch. The food was ALL amazing, especially My steak, which was cooked to perfection.
K. R.
I am a die-hard fan of their food, service and ethos! Mabruk, Will and co are the epitome of excellent service and customer relations and the food speaks volumes! They’ve recently employed a new chef and his touch is evident in the beauty of the dishes presented
.
For starters my favourites were the
1. Surf&Turf: the scallop was done to perfection and the langoustine alongside the ox tail croquettes were SOOOO good! Definite winner for me!
2. The pulled chicken ravioli: this is a cold started but so so good. Beautiful delicate flavour of the chicken balanced perfectly with the cherry peppers and creole sauce
3. Crispy Octopus: this took me back to Amoudi bay in Santorini. SHEER PERFECTION! The Gochujand chilli sauce really complemented the octopus. Ahh Im drooling just thinking about it!
I also really enjoyed the heritage tomato medley and roasted asparagus but the above three were AWESOME.
For mains I recommend:
1. Braised beef cheeks: This dish was sooo beautiful. The first time I had beef cheeks was at the Great Chase about 2.5y ago so I was happy to see it on the menu again. They were tender and complemented perfectly by the leek and purple potatoes!
2. Roasted Red Mullet: PLEASE Order this!! Probably the best paella ive had all year. So moreish and goes so well with the crispy flaky fish!
3. Lamb Shank: slow cooked for >24h this was LUSH. Melt in the mouth, fall of the bone kinda meat with beef bacon crumbs! Are you drooling yet?
For desserts you must get:
1. Summer on a plate: the mango and raspberry marry wel together and ad a fresh touch to the cholaty richness
2. This crumble is AMAZING and big enough for two to share
3. The elderflower pavlova: DELICIOUS!
Thank you to Mabruk and team for having us and to @haloodiefoodie @mybigfathalalblog_ @thehungrysistersuk for such a FUN evening! Great food and great laughter! @southbankfoodie and her little man for providing entertainment
.
DONT DELAY, GO TODAY 🤪

Good sunday roast, you could taste the quality of the ingredients and good selection of non alcoholic drinks
U. H.
Came with my wife and had the theatre menu. The place is very small, cosy and warm lighting. There is also small area to pray which is very unusual for any restaurant in my experience in London.
The staff were very helpful, passionate about the food and served with a smile, the food itself was also delicious. Like everyone else I recommend the lamb chops, cooked to perfection. The place also does mocktails
.
Came to roughly £30 per person for a 3 course meal (and I felt full afterwards). Easy street parking right next to the restaurant which in the evenings and Sunday is unrestricted, I recommend finding a route that avoids Angel because there is a lot of traffic.
N. K.
Read about this place so decided to try it out and was very excited. Very small place so it feels like you are on top of other diners but that doesnt detract from the experience or expertise of the hosts. Food tasted very good and it is refreshing to eat somewhere where the owners care about the quality of food. Only reason I didnt give it a 5 star was because it was cold where we were sitting as heater only blows 1 side of the room. Hopefully this will be resolved in due course as fine fining and freezing your nuts off dont go together.
M. S.
Amazing and delicious Sunday roast. Very friendly service and we're happy to help with personalised kids portion.
Pricy but worth it. We dropped on without booking but we're super lucky as clearly you won't stand a chance normally given how busy it got.
T. A.
I was planning my next meal here whilst I was still eating...absolutely no faults. Service 10/10. Deserves all the 5 star ratings
C. M.
Brunch was awesome very friendly staff, nice selection of dishes very cos environment! will be back again soon

Tasty Sunday roast, great place for brunch, halal menu, good service and prayer room

Amazing little place. Very high quality food. Will be back next time we are in the area.

The food here is just amazing. You can actually taste the love that the chef has poured into his food. The food is not only tasty but is always looking good. Complements to the chef.
S. K.
The food here is amazing! The quality, the taste, the pleasant people who work there.... i can't flaw this place at all. Bonus points for having halal meat for sure! Highly recommend this place to go, its quirky, authentic and can give fine dining a run for their money especially when the menu prices here are reasonably cheap and the taste is that of a fancy restaurant. The beef burgers are better than Meat & Co, and the soft drinks are in a league of there own; i wanted to drink them all!!!. Will definitely visit this place again.... hmmm now where did i place that dinner menu! Shaz & Sakis
S. H.
I like that they're a dry restaurant, offering great alternative drinks. Some vegetarian options, but our gnocchi was overcooked and had to send it back. They very kindly replaced it for some delicious cheesy bites.
A. K.
Amazing halal and tayyab restaurant in the heart of London. The items on the menu are well balanced and crafted to perfection. Ambience in the restaurant is cosy and homely, with welcoming, friendly and talkative staff. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, one of my favourite places in London!
S. A.
Went there for the iftaar experience and Ma shaa Allah it was amazing. The food was well served and well cooked. Punctual serving. The owner was a delight to talk to and he was with the staff the entire time to make sure everything ran smoothly. The place is small but the space is well used and there is even a prayer area for Muslim brothers and sisters. All food and drink is halaal and top class.
K. S.
Great little place with lovely food and a wonderful front of house team.
T. S.
Amazing alcohol free drinks. Reluctant at first as a pre theatre dinner before a Sadlers Well show, but did not miss the alcohol. Great drinks, great food and fantastic service. Will be my go to for dinner the next time i come to Sadlers Well theatre. I highly recommend giving them a try, take the chance on the non alcoholic drinks you'll be pleasantly surprised as we were!
f. a.
A great find. Absolutely amazing food. Cooked to perfection. The cocktails are sublime and the tea (and coffee) are amazing. Staff a very friendly helpful. A great experience will definitely return.

I love your food. dessert were soo good
F. C.
My friends and I were really excited about coming here, based on the great reviews we had read on instagram. The drinks and starters were good. Customer service was excellent. However we were disappointed with the some of the mains they lacked flavour and were not worth the money. Expensive night out with no flavour :(
K. A.
Amazing food, delectable menu and a lovely owner with very great ambitions for his restaurant! Would definitely recommend.
C. L.
Absolutely fabulous food, especially the beef cheek and tail. The staffs are really friendly and the atmosphere is just great. Would definitely come again
F. H.
Everytime we walk in to 'The Great Chase' we always have an amazing experience from start to finish! The atmostphere and service is excellent. The dry bar, gives the restaurant it's own uniqueness aswell as being able to provide british produce in London which is 100% Halal. A great place to bring family and friends :)
s. m.
Absolutely outstanding food. Amazing.
F. P.
This place was sooo lovely. All food was halal and no Alcohol served. The added bonus was that there was a prayer area which made my whole dinner experience absolutel bliss . I'll defo be going back.
PS: the menu is amazing and the staff are super friendly.
M. S.
Had the Sunday roast. We travelled from far and it was a great experience . Worth the price and great to have a halal restaurant like this. Very unique with food which tasted better than I would have expected.
K. K.
Amazing food! Had the sunday roast dinner with beef... still drewling thinking about it.
T. S.
Quality is the best word you can use to describe this place.

An amazing dining experience. We went for brunch and both the burger and duck confit was delicious. They also have us dessert even after the kitchen closed. Great food and service.

With reference to the negative review left by Bahar Cal, and as a frequent eater in many eateries, I am appalled by the review and the reasons.
No one should have to put up with the aftermath of your conception, and many parents feel is it their right to ruin the evenings for others, be it in a restaurant, a plane, a shopping centre or train.
Most are not even aware of the decibel of their brats and often ignore screams and fits of rage. I can only assume they are used to the noise, some may even find it cute, but rest assured the rest of us do not feel the same.
In my humble opinion this is just bad parenting. From the age of 2, a child can be taught right and wrong. I have had many a fine night almost ruined by someone else's kids, and I did not even conceive them. I've had to be asked to be moved even as recently as last week from a lovely place ruined by kids
This place is great. Try it is all I'll say. It's small so if you cant control your kids, be thoughtful and leave them with a child minder or their grandparents.

Every time I've been here, the service has been exceptional and the food is spot on. Can not recommend enough! I've brought friends here again and again since you can't go wrong for the price

A great little find, the chicken burger was to die for. Looking forward to visiting for Sunday lunch soon

I love traditional British food, which is what you’ll get here, but it wasn’t filling or what I was expecting considering the rave reviews. The waiter, however, was lovely and very animated.

Amazing halal fine dining. Genuinely, would be hard pressed to name a better halal fine dining spot in the UK

Great customer service. Responsibly sourced, clean, great food. Went during lunch, Asked for a swapping of one of the sides, they even offered me something from the dinner menus until I chose what I liked.
I hope to visit again soon!

Great service, concept and delivery!
Food looked and tasted excellent... so much so that we’ve booked our next visit with friends in 5 days’ time. The duck leg was exceptional 🙂.
Hope they can keep this standard over time.

Everything here is just perfection. Nothing too elaborate but the flavours work really well together. The teas are rare and each have a unique taste and the cocktails are amazing

Food was not bad. This is the only zone 1 halal restaurant which is not your average takeaway. The owner states they are HMC, however they do not have a HMC certificate. They sell non alcoholic drinks. Parking after 1.30pm is free on Saturdays and Sundays

An amazing all round experience...the staff were super friendly, the food was amazing and the ambience, superb. I'll definitely be back!

Fabulous restaurant, even better service and best of all is the ethical thread running through the how and why items appear on the menu. Seasonal food and locally sourced (as much as possible from what i was told). And some cool entertainment from the waiter to keep the kids amused!

Great concept and experience.
Didn't love the steak but other items were good!

We tried the new dinner menu last week. It was fantastic as usual. I don't think I've ever left this restaurant without having the crumble. Tradition upheld!

Mashallah this hidden gem was easily one of my Top 3 meals of 2019! The Sunday set menu lamb shank was literally a perfect culinary experience !!!

Travelled a long way to get there only then to be told that there was no seating available and that I would have to wait at least 2 hours for service. Maybe next time I'm in London again I will book a table but I have heard good things about this place!

I went here on a Friday evening, I had the duck for mains and crumble for dessert - I really enjoyed the meal. They provided excellent customer service and I look forward to visiting again.
Y. K.
lovely food however we were waiting a long time for our desserts to be served, nearly 45mins. it was during the Ramadan rush but i will certainly go back to see if there is a better service.

Will and Niko did a great job, one of the best restaurant I’ve been too and I must say them two played a huge role in that and of course the amazing food!!

Food was okay, portion sizes too small for the price. Wife and I walked out still feeling hungry but very cosy feeling place. And service was good.

Never fails to provide excellent service and high quality food. A high end experience, with an affordable price tag, in a calm environment. Its a must to visit and once you've been, its inevitable you will return.

excellent service, food was delicious but overpriced, cant seem to justify £27 for a roast.

Food is prepared fresh with manageable prices. Had banana pancakes with crispy duck leg. The pancakes were fluffy but the duck leg could be made crispier.

A great little place. Very welcoming. Delicious food although my elderflower drink was a little on the small side for the price.
