Reviews of The Oxford Arms
D. M.
Great pub but was really disappointed when I got a second drink and was completely overcharged for it - got charged £6.80 for a single vodka cranberry. I suspect she charged a full juice instead of a mixer with my vodka (being a bartender myself) - pictured is the correct price from the third drink. A shame because it was really nice until then. They also take glasses way too early when there’s still drink left in it. Good vibes tho but always ask for receipt in this place.
D. D.
Absolutely stunning Guinness and friendly staff with a stunning atmosphere.
J. T.
Great range of drinks and good food. Service was excellent, with orders coming quickly. Nice arrangement of screens, and a very relaxed atmosphere.
J. W.
Okay pub, prices really high and unfortunately had a strong toilet smell when we were there. Staff nice and a good location though!
N. H.
We were users of the theatre upstairs. The staff were very helpful and Thetford and drinks in the pub were good, varied and reasonably priced.
C. H.
Popped in before a concert locally. Lively pub good atmosphere and easily served. Good for tv sports if thats your bag.
J. S.
Had a great night here for the football semi final on Wednesday night! The staff were quick and friendly and Caroline the manager really goes the extra mile to make sure you are having a good time. Drinks came out quick and the food was good quality pub food - pizzas and burgers etc. Great spot!
R. B.
Cracking place, good beer good staff and a good Landlord. Clean and welcoming, great place to watch football but book if possible as can get busy although service is still great.
R. D.
Nice cozy traditional pub that feels a million miles away from it's bustling location.
G. W.
Reasonable outdoor space which not Kent pubs in London have. It does get a bit cold there but I did notice there are heaters. Food passable. Espresso martini excellent! Visited once before around October but left before being seated as we felt they were being very over the top in the way they enforced the rules, to the point of rudeness, but I can say there were no such issues this time and the staff were quite friendly. I would recommend this place for a drink. Make it part of your pub crawl!
V. A.
Was quiet when we popped in but the staff are friendly and it was clean. Nice little pub.
L. P.
Decent pub to watch the Wales v England game.
J. R.
Turned up an hour before England vs Ukraine without a booking and the landlady made space for us. The whole of London was booked up for the game so this happening was like winning the lottery. The atmosphere for the game was brilliant in the quality beer garden. Would recommend!
N. W.
Well that is a proper London boozer. I didn't see scotch eggs and piccalli but I am sure you could get them
J. B.
Went for the first time on Saturday for England's Quarter-final match against Ukraine. The location has an excellent "garden" with 4 flat screen TVs all showing the game in sync (this is key as I've been to other pubs where the TVs are off which creates a horrible vibe).
The staff are so accommodating, and their work ethic bringing non-stop booze to the table fuels the electric atmosphere.
After the 4-0 England win, it was imperative that we secured our spots for the Semi-final and Final.
The Oxford Arms, and especially its staff, has been a key pillar to the success of our great nation.
Bring on the Final, and all the tequila that goes with it.

Great. They had an impressive range of beers and a really great menu. The staff are cool (in a good way!) and offer friendly table service. Well worth seeking out.
J. C.
Cracking pub to visit. Lively and friendly.
W. R.
Beer selection could be better (need more ipa/apa's!) but the atmosphere is good, the staff were really nice to me, and the food was excellent! Big up chef!
H. C.
This was our second visit. The manager Caroline is very professional and nice. Our family members have agreed the food was GREAT ! and drinks are good ! Staff members were very helpful. Thank you ! John and Hiro Charles

Went to watch football (Portugal vs Belgium) and witnessed what I can only say was a group of very ignorant Portugal Supporters. Turned up in a big group and the waiting staff were explaining they could only have groups of six but would seat them on 2 tables - handled very well by the young lady. The ignorant group completely ignoring covid guidelines felt the need to surf tables and generally behave against all covid rules. Do they not realise the hard time that the hospitality industry has had over the past 18 months and the increasing cases of the Indian variant. Why did they feel the need to put the pub at risk of a significant fine just because they couldn't bear to sit 6 feet away from a few of their mates - disgraceful. From my tables perspective extremely helpful and polite staff great beer and great food. Will be coming for the rest of the football - now Portugal have gone out hopefully we wont have to suffer their ignorant supporters again.
B.
This pub had just the right atmosphere, it was a traditional style pub but welcomed strangers and tourists. Really great pie and mash.
A. B.
This is a great place in Camdem on a Saturday night! If your are in the mood to listen to old 50s & 60s anglo tunes, this is a must go place. By the way, you will meet great people from all over the world over a pint or two.
I. S.
Very nice little pub with an amazing beer garden! The staff is super nice, covid-19 engaged, and etc, and the drinks aren't expensive when compared with their neighbours in Camden Town. I totally recommend it! Just one thing : if you're booking a table for sports (football match) maybe search for alternatives as you will find isn't very in the spirit (despite the great screens around). I mean, if you are very into the game, it might feel awkward if you scream "goal", as the game is on mute and the "soft pop rock soundtrack" is constantly on. But, again, apart from the sports label, the place is super cool, with fair prices and friendly staff 😊
R. A.
I actually came here to watch a comedy show in the theatre upstairs but stopped by the pub a d thought it was pretty decent for what it was
R. L.
Really nice food and good choice of beer. Good, covered outdoor space too.
S. v. M.
Super nice, good food, good beer and great service.
A. R.
Cool vibe, good looking food. Let us in to a cheeky table for two for the Euros semi final, very accommodating. Food looks lit too, FOOTBALL'S COMING HOME
G. M.
Lovely bar, great pints and next door to the O2 Kentish town.
A. M.
The space is good and the staff is very friendly. Beers are a bit overpriced though food quality and price were OK.
Just be aware that, due to coronavirus, they've adopted the order via app system even when you're eating in, which for me is annoying given that one stops interacting with the mates around the table whenever it's time to place an order. Personally I don't like that though I understand measures have to be taken during the pandemic.
S. C.
Service was efficient and friendly staff. Able to get a table with walk In. Reasonably priced for the location. There are limited heaters but wasn't too much of a problem for us. Very casual vibe.
N. B.
A wonderful London pub I the heartbeat of London, Camden town. Yeah it's a bit small tucked in on the corner but it has a nice beer garden and very good for price
L. “. C.
Lovely place, nice an cool on one of the hottest days. They ensured we all sanitized our hands and done the track and trace thing which took like 2 seconds. Ordering was so easy using an app and the seats were divided with clear shields. Food was delightful and drinks lush. 100% would go again.
B. P.
Great Irish pub full of atmosphere and great staff.
S. S.
Had a great day here last weekend, the food was lovely and reasonably priced! The pub is doing well with all the covid measures felt very safe and welcoming, big shout out to Caroline & Bernie who looked after on, see you guys soon! Keep up the good work 🍻😃
H. F.
Covid safe, fantastic staff and beautiful Camden Town Brewery beers. Could not ask for more. A true haven in the midst of all the bustle. What a gem.
P. R.
First time visiting Camden, came in here for the football. Great atmosphere, great service, have it well organised with the amount of game since tv tonight. Good is excellent! Great job people!!!
J.
Great Camden pub, friendly staff and nice outdoor seated area with heaters. Prices are fairly normal for Camden/London.
T. K.
Best pub in Camden, had a great experience, good food and drink! Very welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend to visit.
M. T.
Ok pub with Sky Sports and standard selection of beers. Cool USB phone chargers.
J. O.
Came here earlier today for some food and a pint with my friend, our regular spot was too busy and we have never visited this pub before, i was pleasently surprised with the speed of service and amazing beer, and i can't even begin with the food, we both had the cheesy garlic bread and the burger, some of the best food I've had in a long time, will be returning!
G. F.
Nice pub, theatre upstairs. Good beer selection, nice cider and decent snacks. Didn't try the food, but menu looked fairly generic pub fare. Lots of TVs inside, had a pleasant hour watching the test match :)
Outside area to the back, looked quite nice but was very busy.
R. R.
Lovely pub nice staff
S. F.
Nice traditional pub with lovely food at amazing prices for London. We had a Sunday roast for £11.99 and with a choice of 3 meats and the lamb was excellent with lots of veg and tasty gravy. Also had the Ham, Egg and Chips which came with salad. Excellent ham and a really delicious meal. This pub is a really pleasant surprise within Camden Lock. They serve London Pride and Doombar as well as other beers.
C. C.
Busy pub with good beer selection. We went on a Saturday night around 10pm. Place was packed and lively. We had a couple of beers but no food. Bartenders were pleasant. It was fun for a beer.
R. B.
We were lucky enough to win a meal for 4 in a school raffle, on walking in first impression were a tad mixed. But have to say a big thank you to all as the food was good, service spot on. A busy pub, which must say this pub is liked my many people. 😉
F. R.
I tried some other pubs in this area as well. But this is my favorite one in Camden. Nice and helpful staff, clean toilets. Good choice of drinks at reasonable prices. Had some fish and chips last time, this has been quite good, although they forgot the sauce tartar on the first try. Spent the evening with watching football and some good talks with other guests, most of them locals. On weekends it might get a little bit noisy, but that's normal I think. I'm feeling very welcome everytime I'm there and will definitely return next time I'll be in the area.
C. O.
Good food and service! I recommend the ham & eggs.
M. D.
Staff great! Fitted us in last minute for the England game - great selection of drinks and great atmosphere!
A. H.
good to take the weight off your feet from the crowds. liked the pint glass. bit tight on gin measure. good atmosphere. had rugby on the screens ,no one seemed to be watching. I would check the pub out across the street next time as more connected to the vibe outside.
G. F.
Nice food not mega expensive for Camden nice outdoor area and friendly staff. Fegsx
J. R.
Nice pub to stop off for a pint and a bite to eat! Decent menu and lots to choose from behind the bar. Staff were really friendly too. Good location ideal to spend a while watching Camden go by. Will be back.
j. m.
Cracking pub, lovely staff and a good pint of guiness
N. G.
Great pint of Guinness and was great craic!
D. S.
Nice big pub to meet at in Camden. Bright, open, friendly and staff welcoming and warm.
Good selection of booze, perfect to meet friends out for an evening after work or on a night out.
S. J.
Inside is excellent for people watching if you get a table by the window and Camden always has plenty of character and characters. The beer garden could be OK if it caught a bit more sun and wasn't filled with smokers. Beer is fine but common faire and a little on the pricey side - to catch the Camden punters no doubt. More than a tenner for two drinks. Staff seem friendly and the ambience is quite good for this traditional boozer.
C. G.
Great food and selection of drink! Really enjoyed our afternoon there!
H. D.
Nice pub in the heart of Camden that shows gaelic sports. There is a large selection of beers and the food is decent and in generous portions for a reasonable price. It is not a crowded as the location would make you think. They have a small terrace in the back.
C. B.
Nice pub but strange staff
J. S.
Very accommodating but not really set up to be comfortable with new restrictions in place. Sections are really too small, and stools are not very comfortable.
W. R. R.
Nice Irish Pub!! All from Mayo.
I was there on day of the Irish Football Final Dubs X Mayo. It's a great environment. As an Irish pub you're always very welcome.
Nice staff!! I didn't eat.. but nice place to watch games in general.
d. m.
Went in to watch the football. Decent selection of beers and reasonable prices. Football on loads of tv’s but unfortunately no sound or commentary, certainly not turned up loud enough to hear anyway so loses points for that.
A. E.
Absolutely fine. Pub on Camden High Street.
L. S.
Amazing place! Staff is nice and environment is super chill! I'll come more often!
A. L.
Great host.
Made us all feel welcome when we arrived.
What a great place.
Great venue for medieval banquets.fantastic historic lounge/ breakfast room..
Will come back every year.
R. B. -. E. k.
When up in Camden, visit The Oxford Arms.
Nice little pub but can get a bit packed on a sunny day.
Beer is okay, at least well kept and can be very noisy as they do a lot of sports up there.
Good atmosphere with no really bad vibes from anyone so a good place to visit and have a drink.
N. H.
Good beer selection, both domestic and international. Had the sunday roast, OMG was it good! so savory and delicious! Really to die for! The only downside to this pub was that they had very few chairs and mostly stools to sit on, not how you like to sit while eating.
J. M.
One of the best pubs in Camden for Beer and atmosphere.
Used to have quite the selection of Belgian beer too... But sadly no more.
C. B.
Went there to watch an AFL Finals game. The barmaid with the short hair & a cross tattoo on the back of her neck wasn't friendly at all, in fact I thought she was rude. She needs to find another job, not in customer service!
B. K.
Good pub and staff, but very boring in there I found it.
J. F.
Drin the barman is a ledge!!! Came for a snout and a chin wag! 100/10
Great place!!
Man deserves a raise!
Would of tipped more if a cash point would of been closer!
Z. M.
Lovely atmosphere and staff central to Camden Market
E. D.
Lovely pub with great outside area and friendly staff
J. J.
The Oxford Arms is a traditional pub they have a selection of worldwide beers & I think there were cocktails and the usual drinks. I thought the food is very good my friends thought so too very cosy and friendly
D. M.
Great atmosphere friends people. It could have bin a 4 or 5 stars only for the gentleman from Galway (member of staff) with the long face and the bad attitude. Overall cracking pub.
R.
One of my favourites in Camden with a good sized smoking area/beer garden
C. C.
Nice pub with a generous terrace outside where one can have a smoke, drink or the daily menu. They serve pretty good hamburgers as well and the customer service is great.
A. B.
One of the best run pubs in Camden! Great for watching sport and there is a fringe Theatre upstairs as well. Lovely garden out the back and they serve a good pint of Guinness.
J. M.
Very nice pub. The staff was very kind(the showed on the TV the Spain match) except the blonde guy, he tried to take ours plates twice when we still have food.
P. E.
Great place, TV Garden, pleasant stuff.
D. M.
Great service. The app to pay and order quite bad, tbh. Some of us could not order and bad to ask someone else to do it for us...
P. L.
Had a great meal here very reasonably priced especially for London. Popped in for a quick rest and pint ended up picking from the specials board. Glad to have eaten here.
M. N. S.
My best Irish pub in Camden! Zone smokers, 4/5 tv's to watch football or rugby and during the night the atmosphere changing for a funny night out. Recommend
C. D.
An old reliable when you find yourself at a loose end in Camden. Pours a great Guinness and depending on what time/day you go, either a quiet spot to gather your thoughts or have a chat, or a friendly, agreeably bouncing pub.
J. D.
Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, food was served quickly and was to a very high standard (good portion sizes too). Great selection of drinks too! Highly recommended.
J. O.
After a long walk with my family it was great to get a drink and a simple snack relax. Nice location with lots of people and entertainment.
The staff was very funny and we had a good laugh.
E. P.
Good pizza. Good beer.
V. N.
Great pub with good wish and chips
s. c.
Good selection of beers , friendly staff, great for watching sport
J. C.
Nice boozer. Friendly staff. Excellent customer service. Nice food..
M. R.
The Oxford Arms epitomises the London pub. Slightly rough around the edges, but a good selection of beer and the major sporting events on several TVs including the IPL and FA Cup. Caroline in particular is an awesome member of staff, hardworking and she keeps the place moving.
H. G.
While at The Oxford Arms, my friends and I were very disrespected. We were standing off to the side in the outdoor space, socializing when we very rudely and rashly approached by a heavier set lady who apparently worked there. She demanded that we give we her out ID's ( we are way over 18) and then demanded that if we were not drinking to leave. Understandably they are a business but we may have bought drinks later or at a different time. Rudely and disgustingly we were pushed out of this pub. We will never go back, and in fact we plan on calling and filing a complaint. Never disrespect your customers (or potential costumers), that is the number one rule of business. I hope you all take this into consideration when you think about going to this "Pub".
P. H.
Great pub. Great service, Beer and atmosphere.
E. R.
Nice pub, with sports
C. A.
Good place for a quick beer. Not the highest rating because of the charge when we paid with a credit card. Don't expect tourists to come with cash and don't charge them because they don't!
G. Y.
Nice place to pop in for a pint and as an added bonus, they're open late, til 1am on the weekends.
Good selection of beers and the crowd isn't too rowdy.
S. F.
Took social distancing very seriously. Perspex screens everywhere. Doorman very firmly but politely policed it all. Kerry...a very genial host 😁
R. H.
Highly popular pub having original shows.
Prices are quite high in my opinion, and the bar is usually very loaded (Camden town... tourists).
A. P.
Good beer quickly served, prices were Camden prices. Good mixture of music., would go again.
A. D. (.
Nice pub in Camden out door seating makes for a nice spot in summer. If you need to charge your phone there a power point underneath the TV on the raised floor area.
M. K.
Lovely staff and great food :)
M. W.
Good if you want to watch sport in Camden. Good garden with TV (which could be bigger). Toilets need work.
A. H.
Love this pub .. great selection of beers ... the a/c is great and the pie of the day was just yum .
Will Defo be back next summer . And so close to the underground 🙌🏻🙌🏻
A.
Very friendly! Great menu to select from.
M. C.
Great pub in camden.. lovely atmosphere. Had a drink in the Beer garden was nice and relaxing.. not far from the market..
C. D.
A reasonable local pub in Camden. The service is sometimes a bit unreliable though, but other times it is brilliant.
Reasonably priced drinks etc.
J. W.
A little rough and ready Camden Town pub. Stays open late, has a big outdoor space, and an efficient staff.
This is not the Ritz, but it gets the job done.
S. D.
Being on the main road on Camden you should expect to see this place packed. Advertised as a sports bar it doesn't have enough room/TVs to show too many different games. The selection of drinks is just average.
S. M.
Great pub. Great location. Great beer
G. L.
Great place for a quick drink. Bar staff are friendly and you meet people from all over the world.
X.
Unlike other pubs in the area, this one isn't overpriced and actually has a good selection of beers
D. C.
Just came in here for the 1st time and I like it nuff said
A.
Not the biggest selection of beers. Place okay for a quick pint. Haven't trying any food up there.
B. D.
Casual pub. If you can get here in time, they have a great full English breakfast!
p. l.
Great pub .... best in Camden.... met my wife there 25 years ago .... had to pop in for old times sake
S. M.
Cheap drinks.. less than £10 for 2 in the middle of Camden.. happy days!!.. sport on the tv!.. no airs and graces just a good ole pub!!
S. F.
Watched an English world cup match here so it was super busy, everyone was still very nice and had a great time.
A. M.
Lovely pub in the middle of Camden.... friendly staff and lovely food!! The only place to find a huge beer garden in Camden!!
M. E.
Great vibe, lovely staff, love the garden (with heating and telly). Always feel welcome and at ease, highly recommend 👍
E. M.
Great little pub in the heart of Camden. A good Irish feel without falling in to the trap of being cliché.
G. F.
Good lively pub showing all major sporting events across several tv sets and quick service at the bar
A. B.
Nice place, plenty of screens for Champions League. 50p charge on card under £10 feels a little cheeky though
M. J.
Nice choice of beer and lager polite service and quick. Enjobable place.
N. H.
Decent pub with outside area and sport on screens. Price of a pint also a bit cheaper than others in the area.
B. S.

Huge and perfect breakfast. Lovely and really friendly waitress. Thank you so much!
S. C.
It's a very British pub! If you're look for a more contemporary pub with a more contemporary and modern crowd, this is it. Grab a pint and watch the game.
D. C.
I was disappointed with the bathroom but comfy sofa made up for it. Nice interior. Big flat screen, perfect for live sports.
J. D.
Good spot in the heart of Camden, pub food was good & friendly staff. Check it out on your next trip to London.

Traditional London boozer. Friendly enough with good food and a wide range of beers.

Walked around Camden all afternoon looking for a pub playing the west ham game. And finally found this great boozer!!!
S. A. L.
Nice place. I would have liked better beers though.
L. B.
comfortable outside seating, decent beers, food menu looked good also
