A. W.I love The Square! I’ve been a couple of times and will be back. The tables are beautiful to sit out at on a summers evening with an aperol or a morning brekky. The waitress that served us when I went for drinks/snacks was an absolute delight and I hope she still works there. Absolute legend
J. S.This is my Sunday blog spot, The Square serves some of the nicest coffees I've had and the staff are incredible. The resto is located in such a lovely corner of Hackney and at sunset the entire resto goes orange-golden, great ambiance ! 10/10 recommend !!!
They could do with some electrical sockets because my laptop dies so often when I'm there, but the sunset and coffee keep taking me back.
D. H.This is a gem of a place. My pal told me it was a Café and he was right... but its so much more. Have a coffee or something a little stronger sitting at the street tables & chairs or go inside.
As it was early evening October we chose indoors and enjoyed the calm atmosphere, gentle lighting and superb food & drink. The service was swift and friendly too, thank you.
I highly recommend The Square and can't wait to visit again.

L. M.We ate as a group and thought the service and drinks were very good, but breakfast was a bit underwhelming. The sweet potato toast and shakshuka were small portions and the duck hash wasn’t what we expected at all, it felt more like a stew than a hash.
It’s a really nice spot for a coffee though, especially as the windows open up fully to allow in the air and sunshine. Great spot for people watching in Hackney.
S.Great atmosphere. Lovely for a chit chat with friends, lunch with family or a romantic date in the evening.
A.Lovely place with a good number of outdoor tables and huge windows that they kept open (good ventilation - more restaurants need to do this!). Service was quick and food and coffee were tasty. Coffee was a bit on the small side is the only quibble I had.
R. M.Can't reccommend this place enough. We stumbled across by chance and was welcomed in with big smiles. Whoever does the playlist clearly has great music taste and it was at the right volume which I like - fills the silence but you can still have a quiet conversation. The food and drinks were delicious, and at a very very good price. Stop for food here before you go to the Castle Cinema about an 8 minute walk away and your partner will be thanking you for an amazing date night.
V.Local cafe and bar, I often end up here for a negroni with friends! They have lovely food and breakfast but their cocktails are proper nice. Outdoors seating available and nice staff!
