Reviews of The Village Paddington - Lebanese Restaurant

The Village Paddington is the best Lebanese restaurant in London with most spectacular interiors. The food is really fresh and delicious, each recipe is absolutely scrumptious. Such artistic and surreal interiors with such great food, highly recommend regular visits!!

Stunning environment , they created a Lebanese village within the restaurant . Great attention from the staff from beginning to end , they truly are showing the culture from Libano right here in London . Lovely place for a different dinner or lunch. No alcohol drinks are served in the house , and not a lot of options of different soft drinks or non alcohol cocktails , such as different mixed juices . But the food is delicious and the staff and the environment deserve our appreciation . Well done 😀.

It just so happens that as of last year, you won’t need to travel to the Middle East to visit a “Lebanese traditional village”, since one now exists right here in the heart of London!
Having recently opened in October, The Village is a Lebanese eatery that’s located down the road from Paddington Station, and not too far from Hyde Park, on Craven Road.
With traditional breakfast dishes available as early as 9am, this place offers plenty of other options, which include freshly-made bread and pastries courtesy of the restaurant’s large brick oven.
But what really sets this place apart from the rest in town, is the lengths to which they’ve gone to in transforming their basement into a cellar-like restaurant, with all the features and ornaments carefully selected to try and capture the look and feel of a “Lebanese traditional village”.
They’ve done an incredible job too, with not just a stunningly designed private room for 25, but also a pair of cosy little, brickwork-arched seating rooms they refer to as “caves”, with brass hand bells hanging outside for use in alerting the waiters.
In fact, judging by the humble decor of the 37-cover ground floor in comparison, as well as the simplicity of the menu, not only will you be taken aback by such disparity, but the elaborate arrangement downstairs ought to create quite the first impression.

We had a chance to visit this newly opened Lebanese restaurant and here is our verdict. The village is small cosy restaurant that mainly offers small dishes such as cold and warm appetizers. They always offer a meal of the day freshly prepared. As we are not that familiar with lebanese cuisine we let the owner Hassan to choose for us. We received: fatoush salad, hummus, aubergine dip, roasted potatoes, egg omelette and rice and meat wrapped in a leaf. Everything was delicious, but my favourite was probably the salad, omelette and hummus. Then when we were almost full, suddenly Hassan brough us the biggest "pizza" I ve ever seen (on the second picture). It was the lebanese Manakish with 6 different toppings. My favourite was the one with tomatos and cheese. My boyfriend prefered the one with herbs. I never tried Mankish before and would happily have it again because it was much lighter than a classical "pizza" but the same delicious and so crispy. So overall we loved our visit and if you are up to trying something new or are already a lover of lebanese food - give this place a visit.

I came to know this place through the app Too Good To Go and even though the reviews were great we didn’t have the best experience. Food was flavorful but some pieces (like the small pizzas) felt really soggy and old. Perhaps we will come back and try some meat and broader array of dishes, for now, it was just ok

Impressive independently run Lebanese Restaurant serving authentic dishes cooked daily. I had their dish of the day (Vermicelli rice and chicken) and a Manakish. Their coffee is pretty good too! Will definitely come again.

I visit the Village whenever I am in London for the great variety of food for breakfast, lunch and desserts they serve, and the unique setting and ambience they offer.

A hidden gem in London, I cannot recommend enough. All the classic Lebanese food is of high quality and the service is extremely nice. You can have a sunny early dinner outside or a cool lunch in the downstairs area which is a pleasant surprise of middle eastern objects and architecture. Love it !

I love this place. Having lived in Lebanon most of my life, this place feels like home. The food is of the best quality you can find in London, and it's a true example of what Lebanese food should be like. The staff is very friendly, the service is great. Also the location makes the experience even better. In one of the best areas in London, and next to Hyde Park, you can plan an extremely enjoyable day. Overall, a great experience!

Came across this restaurant via the Eat out to help out scheme - and what a find!
Really enjoyed the fresh food here. Plenty of options for vegetarians, freshly made and at a very reasonable price.
We've already recommended this restaurant to others who live locally and will definitely visit again.

Excellent. Came in for a coffee for a meeting with a colleague, intrigued by ambiance and menu so stayed for lunch. Delicious, freshly-made Lebanese food, friendly staff, decent prices. Definitely go and explore downstairs - it's fabulous! Really impressive, well worth a visit. I'll certainly be back.

Very polite and helpful staff. My friends and I are vegetarians and they were super helpful on selecting dishes. Able to sit outside in the nice weather. But the interior of the restaurant was very nice. Worth a visit 😊

Friendly, welcoming service by staff
Fast service and follow ups were frequent. Lebanese waiter also asked us on number of occasions of the how the food was and if we needed anything else, so greatly appreciated.
Dishes were tasty and portion sizes were impressively big. We ordered the hommous with meat, batata Harra (spicy potato), warak enab (vine leaves stuffed with rice) and finally our main course kafta with tomato, was tasty and felt like home!
Decor and fayrouz playing really felt very homey! Now I’m kind of home sick!
WC facilities were clean and spacious!
Really wished they had a bigger selection of Lebanese sweets!
S. R.
The place is very authentic and beautiful interior design downstairs. Food taste like home food! I loved the baked oven dishes and had the best baklava with icecream. Lovely staff aswell !

Lovely service, good food at a decent price. Lovely interior. Only wish they had larger portion sizes or picture of the food so I can tell how much I’m ordering. Otherwise fantastic!

Amazing meze and great servers, the young guy was the nicest guy. Order the nutella calzone with lebanese coffee at the end, you won't be disappointed!

The staff were really lovely and the starters were great! However, the chicken in our main was undercooked and the lamb was a bit salty!
M. H.
Delicious takeout! Try the spicy potatoes! Dolmades were tasty too - will be back to try other dishes!
