Reviews of The Waterway
A. T.
One of the best BBQ ribs that I have ever had, very tasty and tender. Absolutely loved it! On top of that the French fries was excellent too!
The super salad was a bit of disappointment and way over priced, would never order that again!
In general the staffs are really friendly and welcoming, excellent service and very clean with perfectly designed sitting plan.
I would definitely go back but for a special occasion and not for a casual meal as it was a bit pricy.

Honestly, not bad! The food was nice, the. Staff were polite and the ambience was relaxed and welcoming. We went as a group of three and sat outside for dinner, I ordered the cod fish and chips, which was garnished excellently, but the sauce felt a bit too salty in combination with the already salty cod. The food was also plated excellently. The ambience was welcoming, with fireplaces and subtle music, the view also complemented the experience. As for pricing this restaurant us more on the higher end of places, but it was worth the extra money! I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone who is interested in some good food and good vibes!

What a lovely place! Fantastic service too, the young man serving us was so friendly, bubbly and polite, brought the food really quickly and made my family feel really welcome. The restaurant is beautiful too, the igloo we had pre booked was a magical experience, quietly tucked away from people, surrounded by beautiful lights, inside it comes with fur throws and blankets, a heater and a Bluetooth speaker. Even in just +4 outside on a chilly evening night we were all incredibly warm. The food and drink selection wasn't huge yet somehow they have something for everyone and let me tell you.. it was absolutely delicious! I personally love to cook quite frequently in my house and it usually takes something special to surprise me when eating out, but the mains desert and wine were 😙👌*chef's kiss*

Lovely restaurant with indoor/outdoor setup. Frankly the outdoor is where it’s at with a charming flowery/greenery setup, lights and heat lamps. I ordered the sea bass which was delicious, salmon looked good. Our broccoli side was a bit underwhelming. Good old/new world wine selection. Service was exceptionally nice. Would recommend and return!

One of my favourite restaurants in Little Venice for the picturesque location, the friendly staff, the classy ambience, and the great food. In the winter, it's a great idea to cozy up by the fireplace over a mug of hot chocolate. In the summer, I usually prefer the outdoor sitting for an unobstructed view of Regent's Canal. I tried the back ribs with chips for the first time and loved it. Best to reserve a table before popping in to a pod disappointment.
E. P.
Nice pub by the canal in Little Venice. The food is good, especially the starters. Better to have a table outside where is heated and comfortable. Service was also amazing. Attentive and professional. My only criticism would be that the bathrooms can be a bit cleaner and not having plastic flowers as decoration. But other than that, great place!

really lovely evening.
I only visited as i got an invite from Instagram after liking a photo.
couples romantic location flowers fire pits flames warmth.
terrace super pretty.
Staff are very friendly and theatrical.
Food is flamoyant and full of flavour.
The salads vegan choices burgers ribs desderts will make your mouth tingle.
nice vibe London vibe Trendy music.
im a regular now oh yes x

Nice pub by the canal and offers some relaxing views of the Grand Union Canal as it winds through ahead from the little Venice. The food and beverages were good. The service was excellent. The person serving us went out of the way to ensure we got the right food when he got to know we were vegetarians and got us a number of options to sample. I was attending the summer get together arranged by my employer.
Z. S.
Great location in quiet canalside walkways. It was hard to decide from the amazing menu options. Confit duck burger was a unique experience with an amazing taste. But, beef BBQ ribs was one of a kind. Came with delicious sliced potato casserole.
P. G.
Fancy restaurant alongside the little Venice canal, good place to stopover for lunch while you walk alongside the waterside popular walking route between paddington and Camden. Food was good, service was okay, outside seating area is always nice on a bright sunny day.
D. C.
I liked the place, but the service wasn't as good as a standard restaurant. I know it's a pub but they have a decent food menu so I think they should work on improving their customer service. It was quite slow, no one to refill your wine glass, I didn't find the staff attentive but I can't fault the food. It was amazing.
B. W.
Lovely location. Able to sit outside under good cover by canal. Friendly staff. Food was very good, a choice to suit veggies and meat eaters. We had ribs, half a roast chicken, which was moist and halloumi and portobello mushroom in bun.
Chocolate brownie was very nice, banoffee was probably very good as we just missed the last portion.
D. P.
Very nice place by the canal to spend time drinking with friends on a sunny day.
I haven’t eaten here, but the menu looks extensive (i will come back and try). Just a really nice place with a casual vibe, and great on a Sunny afternoon.

We go out for Sunday Lunch every week with our good friends and all our kids and this was the best experience we have had in ages. Menu was great and food was delicious, but what stood out more than anything was the amazing service. Our waiter Raoul was attentive and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Can’t wait to come back again soon. Especially love the outdoor space they have created with heat lamps. Very kid friendly but also great for adults which is rare in west london.

We had a group booking here last night and the Waterway were great with communication leading up to our booking. I was thinking, on the day, that the weather was good and it might be nice to sit outside. They read my mind and called me to offer an outdoor table. Our waiter was excellent, very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely and the venue was a really nice place to celebrate our colleague leaving and another colleague's birthday.
Thanks Waterway team,
Mischa

We went on a Bank Holiday Sunday for lunch & the pub was buzzy & very full. Great selection of beers & wine & the food menu was great with loads of options to cater for everyone. The star of the show was undoubtedly the roast beef which was tasty & absolutely massive! By far & away the biggest roast I’ve ever had at a pub. Delicious!!
D. M.
The food is good, the place and the view are quite nice. The only thing I did not enjoy is that during the evening there is no service if don’t want lunch and you just want to enjoy your drinks, it is self service.
Overall, a nice place.
I. N.
Saturday night dinner. Staff was very nice overall, but food was disappointing.
Had the oysters special, and the waiter couldn't even explain much about them. Oysters were very good though! They were served with vinegar and lemon, which was charred. The vinegar arrived with no teaspoon, nor oyster fork.
Ordered two medium burgers, had to return them since they were well done, and got another set of well to well done burgers. Didn't get an extra chips serving with the burgers.
Arancinis were crisp and flavoured with truffle, nice one.
All drinks were great, Limoncello spritz, beer, old fashioned and the Rosé.
Atmosphere is quite nice and vibrant and the place is well heated and covered from the winds.
A. B.
Delicious food and excellent, friendly, attentive service. A prime position by the Grqnd Union Canal means that prices are not low, but we felt it was good value for money, given the whole experience. We will definitely come again.
R. C.
I went there twice and I will probably come back again, this place has a really good location and the food is pretty good. I really recommend eat fish there. The place inside is warm and the service is very kind. We asked for tuna steak and salmon, the quality was good but the sides, beans and potatoes were cold... all the points were fine! Recommendable for family or friends lunch!
L.
One of our favourite restaurants.
This place is dog friendly if you book to sit outside. They will even bring a dog bowl.
If you stop by, try mushroom arancini and the vegan burger.
C. M.
Stop here for a lunch time and we had an amazing experience through the whole visit.
Food was spot on, as you can see on pics, tasted just yummy!!
But the customer service we had from the staff made our day, we were surprisingly on how many staff speak spanish, Raul and Antonio were really friendly and welcoming and made us feel home.
It's amazing to see on nowadays these kind of service.
Will be back for sure :)
C. G.
Had an amazing trip here post lockdown on a late Saturday night. Made sure to book in advance, definitely recommended! Very busy nowadays so don't be disappointed
Nice varied menu and good drinks. They had run out of many draughts but not their fault. I would have liked to see some more cocktails on the main menu though. The cocktail menu seemed to be hidden on the website.
Otherwise a top recommend and good vibes by the water!
Feel free to give my review a 👍 and follow me for more drinks based reviews!
Y. A.
Amazing place for brunch, romantic spot. The food was excellent and the menu had several choices. The service was great and the calmness of the place is unmatched.
S. Y.
Go for the view and the vibe, not the food.
The food was mediocre at best, but the 45 minute delay between our starters and main course was ridiculous. Our server disappeared on us and didn’t acknowledge our extremely long wait.
I ordered the Caesar Salad and added avocado, and received a sad grey mash of avocado on the side.
The Mezze Starter and Barbecue Ribs are decent.
Skip the Quesadilla, Caesar Salad and Superfood Salad.
A. S.
Nice place to hang out with friends or family. Service is very quick and friendly but unfortunately food is not good at all. Had to change my dish twice. This place should add more food options to the menu and must change the uneven uncomfortable metal tables in the terrace.
N. V.
Service was good, drinks arrived rapidly. Starters and mains were ordered and arrived in good time. Sausage dish which I ate for starters had too many pineapples & Onions. My main of Lamb Chop were cooked medium like requested which was good. Couldn't really taste the rosemary in the rosemary chips however they were cooked well and slightly crispy from outside. Location is very nice, could recommend to all.
L. N.
Small menu but excellent choices for everyone. Offers outside dining by the canal, and welcomes groups, singles and families.
Staff is well prepared in these challenging times, and very friendly.
J. L. L. A.
Had a really nice lunch there. Food quality was really good. Starters arrived at a good time. Squid salad was delicious. Mains were brilliant as well. Everyone was extremely satisfied. Views are also remarkable. Definetly recommended
T. B.
Friendly staff and nice beer with a good view of the canal
W. C. M. &. C. M. S.
A beautiful place next to the canal, the food was delicious 🤤 and the atmosphere was lovely. We sat in the outdoor area and were greatly looked after.
C. P. W.
A good little spot with a nice vibe. Make sure to book with new restrictions. Breakfast is quite good Altho they wouldn’t serve a Bloody Mary until Midday.
E. D.
Very nice setting by grand Union canal. Squid starter lovely, salmon and butter beans mmm loveley finished with sorbet.
J. J.
Booked lastminute and got a table, but when we got there we got a table near the door with a draft. We asked the lady at the entrance to move and told we should have booked earlier. Understand we booked late but we're still paying the same.
Then asked the waiter to move when we saw an empty table then got moved.
Overall great food and drinks, and would go again but will remember to book earlier!!
m. S.
Very busy in the sunny days but it’s nice to have a drink by the canal. Aperol Spritz was good.
J. F.
It was a great experience to visit this pub tonight! When we arrived on a Thursday night at 20:30 there was not table available, so we grabbed a pint and went to drink it in front of the pub and canal, that was so nice! They let us know when there was a table available to sit outside, so we did! Nice atmosphere and the waiter was such a lovely guy, his name is Ricardo and he treated us very well! Also his recommendation of the special dish was spot on! Duck burger and fresh calamaries made our night!! I strongly recommend this place!!
S. D. S.
The cocktails were great, the wait staff made good recommendations. We sat outside at night and the heaters were great.
L. L.
Great avocado on toast brunch.
The service is friendly, there is plenty of room in the terrace and great quiet location.
Prefect for lunching and brunch with friends.
M. Y.
Fresh ingredients, you could taste the difference! They have Wi-Fi but you do need to ask for the password. Good atmosphere but a bit busy and noisy. Took a little while to place an order but once you ordered the food came very quickly. Kitchen closes around 10pm. Well worth the wait!
A. C.
Great gem in my neighborhood to come for some drinks and enjoy the outdoors on a summer evening.
Good selections of wines but food is below average, I keep going in hope the food has improved but sadly, it has not.
There is lots of other locations in Maida Vale and nearby which is higher recommended for good food.
Last time we went they mixed up our steaks, I asked for medium well and got completely bloody and my friend for medium rare and got overcooked.
Fish was very dry and unseasoned.
Starters are very small for a high price.
So much more room to improve and make adjustments and it could be the most amazing restaurant.
V. B.
The food, ambience and service was very good! Just one suggestion: Please make the changing stations for babies available for men too. It is a bit silly to have it in the women's restroom in this day and age.
E. S.
I really like this place! It is conveniently close to Paddington but it has this English nice feel, canal-side and away from the busy city. Great food and wine selection. Kind staff. They even have a fireplace!
M. M.
The food here is amazing always. If you are lucky enough to get a table outside then the views are great. Wine list is quite pricey for the brand / quality of wine.
N. P.
Great range of drinks but unfortunately had to leave half my steak as it was mostly fat, as did my friend. Another friend had a burger which was undercooked. Salmon an tortellini was apparently good. Panko squid on specials was lovely.
Seemed like they were training a lot of staff at the same time but not going to fault them on that... overall, an average experience for the price.
P. T.
Nice not so little pub restaurant by the canal.
Food served really quickly and tasty. Pricing is reasonable. Only drawback is that there isn't a designated smoke free outdoor area. It's lovely to be outside but it looses appeal if you get stuck with smokers around you. Lovely view and accommodating staff.
M. P.
Nice location, nice seats outside and near the canal however, staff didn't pay much attention and the portions were so bad that we complained.
Attached is a picture of the original £20.50 meze versus the I've they improved after we complained (not much difference). They also paid for service which was questionable given how often we were attended to.
Would recommend coming here for a drink as the big of Pimm's was a decent value £28 and filled 8 glasses, but absolutely avoid for food which really isn't worth the price you pay.
K. D.
An adorable spot with a great deal of outdoor seating. The brunch menu goes til 1pm on Saturday and Sunday but after 12pm you can order off the ala carte menu and both the portobello mushroom burger and the tuna tartar are quite tasty!
G. E.
Had a really good time here on New Year's Eve, it was really nicely done. It wasn't cheap but the staff and decorations made it worthwhile. The duck was excellent
1. 3.
The place amazing and friendly staff lovely desert chocolate brownies with vanilla ice-cream definitely recommend 🍦😍👍💯👌
M. M.
Excellent spot for brunch on a sunny weekend morning. I walk past the pub on the way home from work every day and if you are thinking of coming here on a hot Thursday or Friday early evening you'll be met by half of the city of Westminster it seems. It's a bit emptier in February.
A. T.
Absolutely lovely place to unwind and enjoy good food.
E.
The garden had a nice touch to it. The canal, the candles, the music and the lights really work all together to create a nice intimate ambience. The Picpoul was quite a nice wine. The thing that impressed me the most though was the moules frites.. the sauce of the mussels was delicious! Stunning! Great service and nice staff! Definitely recommended for a nice romantic evening.
D. H.
What a treat. We booked the outdoor pod for a girls lunch on a chilling Saturday afternoon. The pod decor is lovely and cosy. An electric Woodburner effect heater kept the pod comfortably toasty. Faux fur rugs to sit on and blankets for the knees were very welcome. Food was good although our waiter seemed a bit disinterested and not particularly knowledgeable about the menu, which was a little disappointing. As it's the only pod they do rush you out and tend to hover so they can get the pod back However they found us a nice spot on the sofas, by the fireside indoors. So we relocated after lunch and stayed for drinks from the bar. Beware they have the tiniest double measures in the world. Overall though would recommend.
D. S.
Returned to the area after 30 years with my 16 year old daughter to find this little gem. Simple to review: Service friendly and quick. Food excellent, good portions and reasonably priced (for the area). Atmosphere and ambiance (sorry) nice. If you get #MaidaVale or #LittleVenice you’ll like this place.
C. G.
Very nice place, BBQ ribs were really good 👌
S. F.
Excellent customer service and atmosphere! We were a group of 6, ordered food and different cocktails. Laura ( if I am not mistaken) was great, making sure we have delivered the right drinks and food at our table. Tasty food and delicious cocktails. Totally recommend :)
E. S.
Very nice place, near the canal, the view is incredible, good selection of drinks, with or without alcohol, delicious food. Great place to have a relaxing day.
W. N.
This is a great pub on summer days, with an outside terrace facing the canal. However for this reason it can get a little noisy and crowded at peak times so if this isn't your cup of tea you may want to plan your visit at less busy times.
I've eaten here a couple of times over the years and I don't seem to recall it being bad, but let's just say it probably wouldn't make my shortlist of places to eat around this area.
M. S.
Absolutely amazing staff and venue. We’ve chosen The Waterway for our wedding ceremony in the function room. The venue is beautiful with amazing rustic character. Food was delicious and perfectly presented. Everyone was so helpful and went the extra mile. Massive thanks to Bianca for making sure everything was spot on and Dayan with Imogen for looking after our guests on the day.
I would give 10 starts if I could 😊
C. T.
Lovrly place by the canal, you can enjoy an amazing meal and good selection drinks while admiring the beauty of paddington waters.
L.
Great hang out. Local place set on the canal. Good atmosphere. Great mojito!
I. A.
Very cozy place by the canal, huge sheltered and heated outdoor area, it's a fast stop for the jet set and a landmark with typically Italian efficiency. Very busy most evenings, so book ahead, even has a bouncer then. Pricey but still a great place to take somebody important out. Food is not 100% matching the prices, often just too fried or too much onion in the greek salad, etc. Some servers will be condescending if you are not dressed the part, you have been warned.
B. D.
A great restaurant with an energetic and friendly atmosphere. The food was spectacular, the goats cheese croquettes especially. The staff were absolutely lovely and did everything with a smile. Truly the highlight of my trip to London!
L. L.
Good food, drinks and outdoor dining area in the summer. We stumbled on this restaurant walking along the Regent's canal at Little Venice. A great restaurant to dine in and chill at.
R. A.
The atmosphere at the waterway is delightfully busy, alongside a canal, with leafy surroundings and a modern setting. There's a buzz and outdoor heaters, so it's a vibing place for lunch, drinks or dinner. Prices are okay for what it is, come during the day and the canal is a nice sight. My criticisms having come twice is that the food is not great, just okay. It's not bad by any stretch of the imagination, but having tried from each of my family member's plates, they all lacked seasoning and a punch. The charcuterie and drinks that I had the first time I came was probably a better shout, we'd enjoyed that a lot. At the end of the day, we came for the atmosphere and it was lovely, and the food is still good enough for a fun evening out. I'm sure I'll be back.
D. A.
It's always a good idea to go to the waterway! It's so lively, ambience is good and they make some good cocktails too !
M. B.
Great place with a good vibe, facing the canal. If you're a fan of pork ribs, this is the place to have them.
P. B.
Really excellent food and service and a fantastic setting. You will need to book because it is so popular. Parking is easy or its a short cab ride from Central London. Little Venice is worth visiting if you're a tourist in London. Great place for lunch, especially in the summer
C. S.
Amazing hospitality by “The Waterways” and well taken care by Rachel and team 👍🏻🍾🍺
B. L.
Superb food and our waiter was fab. Rotisserie chicken is their speciality and very good
L. T.
Couldn’t be more pleased with the service and food. Right from the start they were very accommodating as there was a miscommunication with the booking but they quickly sorted this out. All the staff were friendly efficient and always making sure if we needed anything.
The food was the cherry on top. I wasn’t expecting much at all but I was pleasantly surprised with presentation and the quality of the food 👌🏽 Would definitely go back and recommend!
C. W.
Great place to chill and hang out with friends or after work drinks in the summer. Great variety of cocktails and the food here is fresh (ordered the burger..their rosemary fries are divine!) always busy around that time of the year so would recommend to book.
M. M.
Outstanding service provided by James! Good food, good atmosphere and please make sure you're served by James!
M. J.
Popular venue with interesting take of seating. Indoors there is a formal and a separate relaxed area. Outdoors there are two patio areas and a garden with some bench seats and an igloo. The patio also opens up to the pavement via removable windows when it's warm and there's also outdoor heating which adds to the look and feel. Good is nice, drinks range is great. Overall decent value and nice staff. Often you'll need to book in advance
D. T.
Nice pub by canal
W.
Nice, calm, lots of drinks available. But still an exclusive atmosphere. Good place for bringing the warmth back on a first day of a decade. A short walk from Warwick Avenue.
D. H.
Good place for cocktails in Maida Vale, great venue on the canal. Gin martini was so good.
J. A.
Lovely, cosy place. We had the salmon and sirloin which were very nice and tasty. Would recommend it. Good cutomer service
J. S.
Beautiful place near the canal. The food is not really good though and it is pricy. It is recommendable for having some drinks with friends or with your partner. Specially with good weather you really enjoy being near the canal.
G. T.
Great location but the service is incredibly average - slow and inattentive which is a shame.
The food was OK but not great...
Unfortunately I would not return as the place simply didn't meet expectations and the price did definitely not match the quality of the experience.
M. G.
Great vibes, excellent food. Very good vegetarian options.
A. R.
Fabulous setting by the canal and great atmosphere. Food was OK too with good service. I had the burger which was OK. Nothing fancy but pretty good all round
S. S.
Great dinner! Sat 'outside' under the tent. Plenty of heaters to keep us warm. Topped off dinner with dessert.
C. C.
It's like Amsterdam the name is a little confusing but that does not belittle the quaint beauty of this leafy superb with boats moored in the canal.
D. H.
Nice atmosphere. Great location. Cocktails and drinks were amazing and then sat inside and had a little bit of dinner which was good
M. s. M.
Nice place, lively but cosy. Perfect Christmas dinner/work do type spot tucked away in Paddington
G. S.
Enjoyed my beers and my lunch. Delicious smoked salmon and avocado salad. The outside space had a lovely atmosphere. Polite staff. A very lovely setting!
N.
I didn't know they have a venue seperate from the restaurant. It was a really nice, loved spending the day there for a birthday party.
L. B.
A really fabulous restaurant along the canal in Little Venice, London. The setting is gorgeous, the food outstanding and the staff is friendly, attentive and very competent. I came here to have lunch with my girlfriends and we were blown away by how delicious and well presented the food was and how nice the staff was. The food, OMG!!!!! Delicious!!! Our waiter Antonio was particularly fantastic, attentive and ready to assist! So was the guy at the front of house! I highly recommend this place.
L. S.
The environment is always good. The food menu could be better, drinks are good and wines too. I was sitting outdoors, there was heating but it was either too hot or it had to b turned off.
j. p.
It was OK. Nothing was wrong but it’s just pub food. The location wasn’t outstanding. You won’t be disappointed but not wowed either
C. D. S.
Very pleasant atmosphere in this restaurant. Great covered and heated terrace, perfect for uncertain weather and post lockdown celebrations! Kitchen is a bit slow, but food is good and service very friendly... Thank you, Antonio!
D. A.
Not been here in years but really friendly and organised staff. Children loved their burger and pasta , whilst we had delicious adult burgers. Good cocktail menu too. A sunny day made it relaxing and even better!
Y. C.
Cosy atmosphere, nice surroundings, good service.
M. F.
Lovely spot, visually very appealing. The food was pretty tasty. However prices are quite high for a size of a portion, I would suggest a £££ band
C. K.
This attracts a younger crowd,Limited menu choice, and quite expensive for a gastro pub
You pay for the location on the Canal.
I prefer the Summerhouse its sister restaurant, slightly more expensive, but prefer the atmosphere there for an evening out.
A. L.
Brunch on the terrace was a hit and miss affair.Nice buzzy atmosphere, good friendly service but both sets of scrambled eggs were luke warm at best and the "children's portions" of toast were cold.We asked for some more toast which this time came hot- but they charged extra for it.
Coffee and tea fine.
M. P.
Stopped for an impromptu drink having walked along the canal. It was airy and we were seated on our own at a balcony area. It wa slovenly to be by the canal. The wine list is great.
M. N.
Woaaaaahhhhhhh!!!!!.... you just know the day is going to go well when you get directions from Mr Paul Weller just outside Warwick Avenue station. The Waterway did not disappoint. Probably one of the best ways to spend an early evening in Little Venice. The place was absolutely buzzing with bright, fresh people working away making your experience perfect. A simple formula of food and drink positively smashed. Thank you The Waterway
ל. א.
Very nice place. The balcony with heaters so we can set there and feel comfortable and worms especially now with the corona restrictions.
The service and the food was very good!
High recommend!!!
A. Z.
Lovely place for a quick drink due to the location, but that’s about it. Very average food and cocktails for the price, one of the wines ordered was off too.
J. D.
Food was very good, great selection of drinks. But you do feel like your eating/drinking against the clock with the way staff hover over you and remind you of your remaining time on the table
J. G.
The burger was really great. Nice place to grab a glass of wine by the canals. Recommend the Bordeaux.
M. K.
We enjoyed a lovely early evening meal with family. Food was really good, reasonably priced and great to get the extra “dine out” discount. Surprisingly busy for the time of day but that didn’t stop our waiter Johnny from providing friendly and efficient service even though there were some challenging customers he had to deal with. Will definitely return.
M. T.
Great service all evening. The young girl with French accent was just so friendly, attentive and quick but never too pushy. Nice table outside although I had only booked 1 day in advance. We had squidd which was a bit chewy and large salads which were all very good. Good red wine and cocktails. I would really recommend the place and come again.
M. B.
I love the Waterway, for the past 6 years it has always been the place to go to have casual drinks and lunch/dinner/brunch with family and friends. What is even better now is that the terrace is big enough and the tables are within the right distance , so not to be afraid of unpleasant viruses. There are heaters, which makes it perfect even for a winter garden! The service is great and everything that I have tried I can recommend, but my favourite things are - ribs, buffalo, mezze platter.
Thank you Waterway team and especially Antonio, who never saves his energy to make his customers happy!
D. J. (.
We always have a great time. Food is amazing.

Great cocktails, really friendly staff and security, we were sat on the balcony for the entire night and its the perfect spot, half indoors and half out, sirloin steaks great and the burgers to die for!
Highly recomend for couples or groups of upto6 maybe? Wheelchair access, good variety craft beers and ciders
Suitable for families or friends
Slightly pricey but location and view carries well
B. D.
Great food it list one star because one of the Roasted chickens was a bit dry. Mostly the food was good service as well. I will be returning after this lockdown .
The price came to around £36.00 per head.

Never heard of this place before and I used to live in the area!
On first arrival it is cosy and very warm, staff were friendly and you don't really feel like you are in London from this point for some reason! I guess the open fire gives it a different feel and I really liked that. The outside area was also really but sad they had only 1 pod, would have loved to experience dinner in that!
The food, I will be honest I had low expectations and they really surprised me, I had lamb shank with potatoes and roast tomatoes and I wanted more, the dessert was delicious also, I never really have dessert (lime and clementine pie!) but it sounded great and yes it did not disappoint. The staff were really on point, well done them.
This place is popular and I can see why. Will visit again.
S. L.
Great restaurant with outdoor terrace.
COVID-19 measures in place and all staff adhering to distancing, face coverings, etc.
Had a lovely meal. Great selection of food and drinks. Also nice to be by the water on a summer's evening.
M. P.
Delicious brunch - definitely recommend the poached egg with smoked salmon. It is a very pretty cafe, with lovely decoration and a good atmosphere, right by Regent's Canal in Little Venice. It is especially lovely on a sunny day!
T. F.
The Waterway is a nice cozy restaurant. The outdoor has been up scaled and the whole looks even better and charming than before.
Service is friendly and accommodating.
I believe that gasto pub is maybe not the right way to qualify the food as it is rather simple and often overcooked and this all across the plates (Chicken, Calamari and mussel were tested).
Still a great spot and a nice experience.
P. R.
Went for the first time in three years and very glad I did. Great setting..great choice of food and drink. A very large outside area with lots of sitting. And very clean. Peroni served cold and sparkling something other bars can't seem to get right. Has been off our radar for a long time but will definitely become a regular go too. And for me a high point was I managed to find a no smoking area that overlooks the garden.
K.
Love it. Great food, really great staff. Indoor and outdoor options, this is how you run a business. Top to bottom brilliant. Well done to all
T. C.
Casual and friendly place. Brunch menu is excellent!
P. P.
Fantastic place for lunch. Surrounded by trees, the canals in front of you, you feel like you’re in the middle of a jungle . Food is good and service is great. Special mention to Raquel and Alicia , when we first visited the restaurant, they made me feel welcomed. They treated me with care and respect while providing an excellent meal. I am once a week at the restaurant for the atmosphere and specially for Raquel and Alicia...
M. R.
Cosy, warm and very lovely and nice decorated outside terrace overlooking the canal, so the perfect spot to have an outdoor lunch! (Didn’t put 5 stars as the food is not amazing but it’s decent and the setting and location make it for it)
S. S.
5 stars for drinks and atmosphere as I didn’t order any food. This bar is perfectly placed on the little Venice canal, its serene and peaceful but still has a good lively vibe, in the summer; the front patio of the waterway really is something special, however it gets busy, so you might not get to sit outside. Drinks were at an extremely decent rate too I found @ £7.15 for a double vodka lemonade.
T. R.
Great venue, great service, great food. Thank you the Waterway team for making sure that our 'private event' met/exceeded our expectation! I would highly recommend the venue
C. T.
Our local casual diner and one of the best in the hood come rain or shine. Predictable good quality and service and hygiene and always a good crowd. Noise is kept under control without losing the buzz of the place. A civilised venue for lunches or dinners or just a drink by the canal. The fireplace in winter makes the place a suitable winter venue. Burgers, squid and tuna are best. It has maintained its quality over the years.
M. H.
Antonio was our waiter and he made the experience so much better. Good food as always but Antonio was a star. He realised that we were celebrating a birthday and put a candle on our dessert. In this weird COVID times it was nice to be welcomed and served by someone like Antonio who made it feel like a real treat to be here. Thank you Antonio and thank you the waterway
S. L. D. S.
Amazing place, the food was very good, polite staff.
I'm sure I'll come back
D. K.
A delightful surprise. Great in winter. Be a champ and sit outside, heaters provided.
M. V.
Very generous servings! Food is good but not amazing. Great outdoor set up for winter and covid friendly. Great service too
L. W.
Good food, staff friendly and provides good services. Will go back time and time again.
G. B.
Great pub by the canal. Really nice on a sunny afternoon.
Small but good selection of beers.
Food is amazing. I've been there several times and have never been disappointed. Tried the steak, the lamb and the burger. All of them very tasty.
If this is your first time I highly recommend the burger.
Prices are a little bit on the high side.
M. H. A.
Great canal side gastro pub. Really enjoyed the food and venue. Great service.
C. F.
Excellent place for lunch which we very much enjoyed today. We had two of the grandchildren and our small dog with us and nothing was too much for the excellent staff, from high chairs to a bowl of water for the dog. Adult meals good value, tasty and plenty for all. Would recommend.
M. G.
Nice open air setting by the canal. Good food. Nice service. They did get the wrong ice cream and also added a beer to our bill incorrectly but overall was a nice lunch.
R. C.
Normally a good meal and evening out.
Needs to put “brunch menu ends at 12:30” on the brunch menu so you can time your meal properly
P. P.
Had a fantastic time in the outdoor seating overlooking the canals of Little Venice. Gas lamps are strong so it does not get that chilly even in the evenings. The food was fantastic and was only surpassed by the impeccable service from Emmanuelle. Highly recommend!
M. G.
Nice brunch options, with a lovely view over the river. The staff are a bit cold, with my wife booking weeks before for brunch with a river view on our anniversary, only to be told on the door they might not be able to get us a table with a river view despite there being plenty available. The drinks are nice and it's pretty reasonably priced.
k. d.
Great burgers and bloodies on the river. Service was excellent despite having a full house. Disagree with some other reviewers saying its overpriced. Portions are big and everything fresh. 13£ -15£ for a huge burger with proper chips and a bit of salad is perfectly reasonable. Well done guys, will be back!
E. Z.
We came to the waterway for the first time and were greeted at the door by the staff, who were super nice and explained to us the menu very clearly.
We chose to sit in the outside garden for some drinks to begin with. Our waitress Hanan went through the drinks menu with us explaining all the popular drinks, the summery drinks and was overall very informative, polite, cheerful and super nice.
We decided to take the summery watermelon jug which was very refreshing and delicious.
Overall we had a great time and the restaurant and staff gave us a very pleasant experience, we will return here for sure and can recommend the waterway to anyone venturing through the little Venice.
S. R.
Excellent. A very good place to visit when having to sit outside due to Covid situation. Well covered, warm heaters. The food was fabulous
M. B.
This is the place to go for a truly first class Sunday lunch. The venue is lovely, the comprehensive menu and wine list will suit everyone and the staff so polite you are guaranteed a fine time. A bonus is you can eat al fresco but be aware they don't serve the roast outside for some strange reason. Can't rate this highly enough, a quality spot that has never failed to impress me.
M. A.
Friendly staff, nice decor next to the canal.
J. D.
Beautiful pub next to the canal! The terrace overlooks the canal and is a lovely spot for a drink and/or meal didn't the warmer months. The food is of a high standard and they have a decent selection for vegans.
I. D.
Friendly staff. Good selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Jazz nights and special seasonal events. Very tasty food. A big, spacious and elegant outside area with heaters, shelter and blankets. Excellent atmosphere!
T. A.
Ribeye steak was excessively fatty and salty, they forgot our drinks and as the place was closing the pressure to leave was borderline rude. Still a salvagable experience as the chips were good, salad good and one waiter was friendly. Location is pretty.
R. B.
Nice restaurant along the canal in Little Venice
F. Y.
Lovely restaurant on the river side. Food here is great prices are average to expensive. The igloo pod outside the restaurant is amazing extremely cosy and comfortable. Only a minimum spend of 150 and there was 7 of us so the minimum spend wasn't an issue. Pods take 2-7 people.
O. S.
A very popular bar-restaurant in W9, for anyone around the canal. The food is good but a bit pricey. Service is not bad, but what this place is all about it's its location. On the river, just an amazing spot to be on a sunny day! It can be quite busy but it does worth it- it feels like being in the countryside while drinking your pimms in central London!
J. S.
Really nice atmosphere and very good service, the hostess Samantha was extremely helpful and polite, had an excellent evening, would definitely go again soon.
E. H.
Beautiful outside area, covered and with warmers all around. It felt very safe, well ran, staff were fab, delicious food and nice ale
O. V.
Perfect experience. Booked an after work event for 12 of us. Every single one of us cleaned our plates for starter main and desert. Service was on point. I definitely recommend it for work dinners and my friends say it’s also good for dates 😉
B. A.
Best burger I have ever had in all my life also the steak was amazing and the cocktails stunning. Highly recommend
K. T.
Great place, especially in the sunshine and tends to get very busy. Whilst the quality of the food is good, I received disappointing service experience twice. On a busy Saturday afternoon, they forgot my starter, which I ordered to go with the wine. They were friendly and apologetic and took it off the bill, no issues. Second instance was a Sunday brunch. Ordered an orange juice and americano first and had to wait a bit to order food as the kitchen was not even open yet. Then ordered the food and received the breakfast eggs very quickly without sight of the drinks. After three reminders and a finished plate of eggs benedict, they brought the coffees. One of them really hot and tastes good, the other is lukewarm and tastes different, more as a leftover filter coffee. They took the coffees of the bill as well, albeit I'd rather have a proper coffee with the food and pay the full bill. I will only go for drinks from now on.
S. W.
Had my second great night at the Waterway last night! 30°c weather meant every angle of the place was heaving with people but that served to create a great vibe. Managed to get a table in 30mins even as a walk-in which was great!
The staff were friendly and paid attention to you as if you were the only person there. Nothing was too much trouble! Service was very quick for drinks, food and any extras we asked for too!
My only reason for just 4 instead of 5 stars was that the mashed potato I had was not seasoned in any way. It tasted very bland. No salt, pepper, milk or butter - at least that's how it tasted to me. I had to douse my lamb and mash in rosemary jus (& ask for extra) to try and combat the taste.
As I've been before and had a great experience I will just chalk it up to that one day! Definitely a great spot set along the canal that makes for great after work drinks or a romantic date night as you sit outside on the deck with the lights and the sunset! Good all-round restaurant!
M. H.
Very good services and clean delicious food
T. L.
Love this place, always excellent service, food and vibes. Would always recommend and it's a must when I'm around Little Venice.
T. F.
Wonderful Al fresco Covid secure safe set up. Exceptional service & delicious food & delightful drinks. Thank you Waterway we loved it x
S. 8.
Nice location and pub. Ordered the ravioli and got 6 pieces Went home and had beans on toast so hungry.Good for a beer but eat elsewhere if you have an appetite
b. d.
My tuna was great the chicken needed more seasoning and one of them was very dry. Service and the ambience great. Portion size good value.
N. O.
Had a last minute lunch here yesterday on what was London's hottest day of the year thus far so as you can imagine this place was packed. Found the service to be very prompt and polite and the food was excellent. Cocktail prices were slightly high for their quality but overall the experience was a great one.
A. K.
Nice place although it tends to be overcrowded. Food is excellent and menu is comprehensive.
D. S.
The food in this place used to be 5 star! I have edited the review and marked them down.
The soup of the day was supposed to be a lobster soup but it tasted and looked like a broccoli soup, there was no trace of lobster.
Their ribs were well portioned, but it tasted cold, old and microwaved.
The burgers both the beef and pork bottom bun was soggy, the top bun cold and stale, the beef patty was hard and rubbery. The pork was a bit over burnt and the bacon was over cooked.
I am not rating it 1 star because it is still a good place to have drinks and their staff are friendly and helpful.
D. I. J. V.
Good place for a quiet drink and some food
C. N.
Good food and atmosphere, I have found strange the waiter asked if I wanted to add a tip on top of the 12.5% service.
K. R.
A beautiful dining area with a nice choice of meals. We had the pork Sunday roast and the mushroom and kale risotto. The food was tasty but not amazing. The service was good but a little slow towards the end. Meals were reasonably priced.
V. R.
Held a 70th birthday party in the function room downstairs on August 19 and it went like a dream. The canapes were excellent, the wines good & there was prosecco on tap which was a novelty for most of us! The staff were friendly & attentive, keeping people's glasses topped up without ever seeming to hover about in an officious kind of way. Above all the Manager Eduardo was extremely reassuring & patient as I went through various phases of panic about the arrangements. The location is wonderful, as other reviewers have said, & I would recommend this as a party venue for anybody. If there are any of us left in 10 years' time I might go back again.
J. B.
I recommend booking in advance! In the spring and summer, the outside seating is really lovely for a place to sit, watch the time go by and the food is very good. The venue is busy, always, and has a buzzing atmosphere. There is always a lot of staff, and the service is very efficient and immediate. The place runs like clock work. It's a really nice place to relax knowing that everything is taken care of.
A. C. C.
Nice open air setting by the canal. Good food But my only complaint is that the food was overpriced.. Good attention to the customer in particular,Raul who was very nice , hardworking and attentive all the night.
E. M.
The place has wonderful views and cool ambience. Thank God we were served by a blond waiter who was very nice and courteous.
In contrast, a brunette waiter and waitress were impolite with my mom and I.
L. M.
Took a friend for lunch for her birthday - we got lucky with the weather so we sat outside by the river. Food was good but over-priced, and service started out good but once other people arrived for lunch it seemed to evaporate - I ended up having to go and get the bill myself but service was still automatically included. It wasn't terrible, but I'm guessing that there are other places that are better value for money and less pretentious nearby...
L. N.
Food ok. Service rushed. Small tables, too close to each other. Nothing special. No parking. Good view.
M. P. M.
Place located on the river in Little Venice area, perfect for a drink in the summer on the terrace outside or for a nice and warm dinner inside.
Good quality food and selection of wine.
It's nice spending time in there with friends if you are looking for something nice.
N.
Always friendly staff and the new menu has got back some of it's kick which was lost in the previous iteration. Great food and a nice location. Really good outdoor space if you don't mind all the smoking (ugh.)
M. “. P.
The location on the waterside in Little Venice is great, the food is also OK and there is a reasonable selection of food. I've visited here three times and the service is generally OK, however there are now other spots along the river opening up too and they offer more of a variety.
R. H.
Fries were oven chips that hadn't been cooked properly. Steak was ok. Salad a bit lacking. Nice place, friendly staff, probably spectacular in the sunshine.
M. M.
I held my 40th birthday party in the private function room and it was incredible. The space has its own enterence, own loos, cloakroom, and even a bar you can pour your own drinks from! It looks so chic and the service was outstanding. I had 40 people seated for dinner and the staff were so organized and helpful. We decorated the table with candles and flowers...it was stunning. I highly reccomend it - ultimate party space!
G. R.
One of the best location in London with a great food.
T. L. B.
Great place for meeting outside during covid. They've done a wonderful job with the outside seating ensuring it's well covered and heated creating a cosy atmosphere despite it being practically November!
M. C.
Great place for a nice bottle of wine on a summer evening on the canal. Got the sharing boards and really enjoyed. Also very well organised, they give you a buzzer so you can relax and have a drink while waiting for an outdoor table and service is very fast.
B. H.
We had a lovely dinner at the Water Way. Both food, wine, atmosphere and service was very satisfactory and we stayed for much longer than we normally do in restaurants. I will recommend reserving a table, because the place is very popular and was completely packed. Also, I will recommend taking a stroll by the canal - it's such a nice area.
H. Y.
Lovely restaurant on the canal. Nice easy menu, good drinks. I think it’s overpriced for what it is. Get there early in the summer months or you won’t get a seat.
T. D. o. W.
Atmospheric, summery bar. It was lovely to sit on the terrace in the shade on a hot summer's day. Great staff;efficient, friendly and helpful despite being massively busy that day. 5 stars
H. R.
A great location and great food but sadly let down by the rude staff.
We were there for a 30th birthday lunch on the recent Bank Holiday weekend and it seemed like they couldn't cope with the amount of customers. Our waiter was abrupt and so rude that we asked for the 12.5% tip to be taken off. The removal of the tip wasn't even questioned and seemed like a common request!
So much potential for this place but ruined by the staff.
P. D.
Excellent venue. Felt like a high end restaurant with good pub like prices.
Highly recommended.
S. O.
Nice food, but not enough of it. Nice setting though, and fantastic staff
L. K.
Really lovely pub, overall great food. Unfortunately the meat I had was more than half fat and inedible. I will however return and try it again I think as I think their fish is probably worth a try.
C. W.
Lovely location and position on the canal with outdoor seating. A nice atmosphere in both summer and winter. Good cocktails and food yet slightly overpriced.
V.
A pearl in London! Really nice all day bar, by small venice, great food (slightly overpriced but you pay extra for the view), great place to meet nice people. I have been for lunch and for bruntch several times and I was always very satisfied. The negative thing is that during summer and sunny days it gets really crowed and you need to wait more than an hour for a table. When you get the table they allow you to stay only for 2.5h so you have to rush your drinks and food. Still I believe it is one of the best in london for day outing!🍽🍻🍺🍹
G. B.
When I moved to Maida Vale this summer, I went to The Waterway on my second day. It is a very nice and good restaurant, normally worth 4 stars, but it is simply a bit too expensive for what you get. I had a delicious wine and a good burger - but compared to other pubs/gastropubs nearby in St John's Wood, the price is just a bit too high. For the price I paid, I expected a bit more.
I did not yet manage to go there on a Thursday when they have live music. This is something, not many restaurants in the area can offer, so it might be worth going there on a Thursday.
v. f.
I chose The Waterway to celebrate my engagement party last September. The table was in the terrace in front of the canal, such a beautiful view. The service was perfect, the menu delicious, my guests and I had so much fun. I could not have chosen best venue, I was lucky enough to have an amazing blue sky and pleasant weather that day, which made my pictures look just gorgeous. They even let me bring a cake and kept on the fridge for me. I highly recommend The Waterway. And also the very attentive Andrej, who was serving our table, such a gentleman! :)
N. M.
Great location, brilliant ambiance. Wine choices and qualitirles a bit disappointing. Food is overpriced cimpated w some venues but overall, enjoyable place and amazing crew. Recommended
M. S.
Great spot just by the canals, service was all very prompt and attentive
Food was really good too.
F. F.
Awesome dining! Everything was perfect and our waiter was perfect! Brazilian chap with a great personality. 👍👍👍
G. A.
Agree completely with prior posts that the food is decent but overpriced, but the staff is extremely rude. Nothing will change when it's packed on a summer night, but I will not be back even on off-peak hours given the experience with staff.
Ordered burrata salad main and given mozzarella, clearly they think customers won't be able to tell the difference.
Management tried to resolve issues, but experience was still awful
B.
We came here for some drinks only. Don't think they loved that very much as we got mostly ignored. Even though the place was over half empty. Came to take my glass away but never asked if we wanted anything further. Cocktail was ok. Staff just lacks basic training.
J. H.
Really delicious food; the vegetable queasadias were surprisingly tasty. Worth going to, however the food was quite expensive and the bar/seating was quite basic.
Food Allergy Review: It did take a short while to explain a requirement, however no problems.
M. R.
Gastropub by the canal at Maida Vale part of Little Venice. Outdoor covered area with heaters. Restaurant very nice, can get noisy as low ceiling. Food very good with great service.
Z. J.
It's already spring and the weather is perfect for an outside lunch. This is my favorite place because it has outside seating. Of course, the chairs are not what it's all about - the food is great and I can eat there every day if it wasn't so far from my home.
H. V.
Fantastic, cosy pub to spend Sunday with your friends in. They used to have great venison steak a couple of years ago, although the menu have changed. So close to Warwick Avenue tube with plenty of transport options available.
H. S.
Good food, but this was too expensive compared with what I'd normally like to pay for a casual Sunday lunch. Especially the drinks. I imagine it will be a nice space outside in the summer, if your budget allows!
P. K.
A very busy pub close to the Regents canal. It is very pleasant especially in summer. Even so, there is outdoor heating in winter. Good menu, good cocktails and all the rest.
G. W.
More pleasant on the inside than the exterior belies. Sunny days find the canalside terrace unsurprisingly rammed full.
The modern European / British menu contains more than enough choice for all but the most jaded pallettes, the wine list is confined to six or so each, white and red. I didn't get a look at the beers.
A one-course meal for two, (including a toughish M/R steak at £28 and a £19 Rioja) came to £85 incl service which dropped the ball a couple of times (no steak knife; & long wait for the bill). So it gets good for location and interior, poor for value, ok for food & service.
R. N.
I am a regular there and I have always had a great experience there, good food and very friendly and professional staff, specially the last two times our table was served by Rosie, she is fantastic, friendly and provided excellent service for our table. I would definitely recommend Waterway to visit
C. P.
Really nice place and area, but overpriced and rude staff!
Waited nearly an hour for a pitcher of Pimm's, that arrived long after we finished our food (ordered at the same time), and then a member of staff we hadn't met before (it's not even the same person looking after your table throughout) was incredibly rude about us not wanting to pay the "service charge" fully... Be aware
A. R.
Fabulous place on the canal.
Nice food, excellent service and great atmosphere.
J. G.
Laszlo made the best Negroni's I've ever had at this place. So good to see as I live round the corner and will definitely be coming here more often now I know I can get a good cocktail!
M. D.
We had amazing dinner , staff so friendly. Highly recommended 👌
B. S.
Had a great experience. The hostess Samantha was very kind and welcoming. Highly recommended 👌
H. A.
One of the best sea bass I have ever eaten. Very lovely staff, friendly and helpful. Wonderful ambiance. A very nice overall experience.
J. C.
Half rotisserie corn-fed chicken was excellent and the staff were brilliant especially Johnny.
Highly recommend and will be back!
A. 8.
This very popular venue is in an endearing location next to a canal with a great outdoor space. However, the food produced is no better than standard pub fare at an inflated price, served by stressed and not very professional staff. The bar is no better, the Mojito’s we ordered were a third rate joke, we gasped with laughter at the lack of finesse of the bar staff. Top tip, only order drinks they can pour out of a bottle!
A.
Great location and food to match. Service with a smile and professional . Come here for lunch or for dinner and relax in a great atmosphere. They have amazing outside grill and u must try their 🍔🍟. Also what I love most is that they are 🐶 friendly.
J. M.
A beautiful decorated pub that feels more like a home than your local watering hole. They have a fire and comfy chairs, perfect for catching up with mates or reading a book
A. P.
Rude security staff. They rushed us to finish our drinks 30min before closing while we had just finished dinner. Poor customer service and lack of floor management on a Sunday evening.
A. S.
Great location and funky place.
Staff really friendly and good food.
Sadly the biggest let down was the big TV screen, that looked totally out of place! It appeared that the only people watching it were the guys working behind the bar...
B. W.
Ok food. Sort of outside but feels like your in!! (Pandemic times).
Very busy in evenings so better book.
K. V.
It's our classic meeting point. Not your average local pub, great location next to the canal (esp. in the summertime), friendly staff, good food and large outdoor space. Definitely recommend this.
S. P. N.
Love love love this quaint little place. Recommend it to everyone and would love to go again.
All the food was delicious!!!
And the staff super nice.
J. M.
Lovely and lively place. Enjoyed evening there. Would come again.
M. C.
Lovely setting alongside the canal with picturesque houseboats in situ. Service good and good food.
E. K.
Lovely setting right by the canal. Didn't eat here but lots of people were eating on the terrace. Food looked good. Drinks a bit pricey
R. F.
Fabulous canalside restaurant. Really nice food and friendly service. A real buzz about the place
T. L.
Waterways its a new fashion place located on the Little Venice canal.
Its very busy expecially during the week end, there is always a crowd of people standing in front of it, because the very big area outside is full of tables and heaters where you can enjoy jour drink.
I give 4 star because I have found that place a little bit expensive. Not a cozy place from friday to sunday!
B. R.
Not worth the money. If you care to pay £6 for a kids mini burger, £3.50 for a single scoop of ice cream and a strawberry, or £16.50 for a slightly larger adult burger - then this is the place for you. Otherwise, i'd go elsewhere.
V.
Just a perfect place to hang out in summer with pretty big outside area just next to the canal.
Great staff.
Had a few dinners, but wasn't too impressed.
E. S.
Heated and spacious outdoor and indoor area.
Tends to be busy though and it's a bit of a pain with reserved areas, ignoring that it has a good selection of beverages and food.
Breakfast is specially good!
A. M.
Cool place by the river. Really delicious Portobello burger.
J. A.
I love this spot for Sunday evening aperitivo in the summer. Good drinks, food is ok, a bit overpriced to my taste. Very good crowd and great great spot on the canals.
N. M.
Not cheap especially, but pretty good. Outdoor terrace good in rain or shine
N. E.
Great place for summer lunch by the canal!
N. H.
Excellent venue and staff! Plus the food was delicious and good value 😋
F. V.
I love this place especially in summer time. I used to go there for drinks and dinner. Great atmosphere. Always super busy
S. L. (. N. M.
Good customer service, nice atmosphere.
Delious food. If kids menu portion cam be a bit bigger would be perfect.
g. d.
Excellent place for a nice Sunday roast. Even better if you can snag a table outside. Decent selections of beers. Excellent food!
G. T.
Fantastic location, nice food, great outdoors in summer however the staff is usually clueless and rude. And when you ask for the manager, he is even more disorientated! Recommended for food and the location but do not expect much from the staff
V.
Love this place, they always serve great seafood (from Billingsgate) and prepare nice chocolate desserts. All of the staff are very sweet and the atmosphere is very tranquil since it is besides the canal.
t. g.
Cosy, nice atmosphere. Bar garden has out door heaters.
S. G.
Nice place to be, good service. However salad I ordered wasn't really tasty and was too oily.
T. D. G.
We've been really taken care of here! It is a very nice place with nice dishes! The location is prime!
B. N.
İt's hard to find a place between 5 and 8 pm, so I suggest booking in advance. The burgers are not good, the chicken meal (don't remember the name, but there is only 1)is great, must definitely try.
D. V.
Perfect location, exceptional service, friendly & polite staff, very decent prices. What else someone can ask for?
T. S. L.
The Waterway, a hidden brunch, lunch, dinner and bar spot in Warwick Avenue is one of the best places to be when the sun is shining. Its string of selling points include the peaceful canal, inconspicuous location, and enormous terrace that basks in the sun’s glory all hours of the day, not to mention the inviting beer garden.
For more information and a rainy day deal you just can't miss out on visit The Waterway page on The Twenty Something London website
A. R.
Lovely terrace area, great for drinks and the staff are really accommodating. Food is good too
M. J.
Very nice vibe and a really lovely location. The staff are also very friendly. I'd definitely go there again.
J. W.
Went to this place for valentines lunch with my best friend, food was delicious and service was very attentive.
I can recommend it’s definitely worth a visit.
M. D.
Friendly service, good decent food but high prices. The view, ambience and friendliness of the staff were a welcome rest after a long walk down the canal.

Excellent little pub, with a great food menu, an unusual selection of draft lagers, and a nice contemporary setting, with an outside seating area, all just around the corner from London's Little Venice. nearest tube: Warwick Avenue, or 10 minutes walk from Little Venice and Paddington.

If you’re in west central London and exploring regents canal, best to stop by to have a pint or two or even an snack or dinner. It boast plenty of options and with seating inside and outside, it’s a great option for socialising.

Really love this pub. Gorgeous setting by the canal and love the indoor seats by the fire. Sometimes the staff are a bit rude though which is the only reason I marked it down a star.

We had a wonderful lunch at the waterway, served by Roxie (one of the twins) who was just lovely. Best service I have had in ages!
S. B.
Really lovely restaurant for a summer day. Has a nice outdoors garden and indoor breezy seating. Try the haloumi salad - amazing with quinoa and berries! Pimms jug is well worth it :)

£18 quid for salmon on mash. Was really tasty and recommend it for the lovely lovely wine. Party of 5 with a couple of bottles, £37 quid each. Outside heaters really helped.

My favourite place for a beer!
Really good food but if you want to sit outside you must book in advance.
M. B.
The outside is not well equipped to deal with English weather and the food is a little overpriced for what you get. Everything else is nice.

Great location along the canal bridge. Food is decent but at a price and drinks are on the higher end of prices . Service is friendly but no one can speak good English - better learn Spanish or Italian if you want to order.

Four stars for the location, nice and very quite, view over the channel.boats and swans passing by...
Standard pub lunch menus, bit more expensive than necessary.

This place was ok! The outside area is really nice to spend a sunny afternoon... The food was ever age and the service was acceptable. The squid starter is highly recommended.

Worth a summers afternoon drink by the canal. Horrendously overpriced & pretentious. We all love a bit of that though don't we?? Food ok, service generally good.

Lovely location and ambience; a place to relax and enjoy a pint.

Hidden away in Little Venice the affluent locals that frequent this bar/restaurant are taken away from the hustle and bustle of London. Decent pub food, the squid is by far the best!
D. N.
Nice place for a drink, especially in the summer.

Amazing cold weather calls for a cracking walk along the canal! Couldn't have asked for a better end at the Waterway in front of a crackling fire and a cold pint! Ah!

Very fancy. The food was expensive and had small portions. Not a good place for a hungry group looking for decently priced food.

Only stopped for a drink, lovely friendly greeting, plenty of outside table space for eating, with large umbrella's and screening from the path next to the canal.

Good priced pints and lovely setting right with garden and terrace right on the union canal. Food leaves a bit to be desired though considering the price.

Great evening. We went on spec and they found us a good table. Delicious food. Recommended.

Food was good, noisy crowded spot, lots of people

What's not to like? Good location, by the canal, good food and drinks... when you can actually get in. It's always packed, even blocking the road. Oh well, no place is perfect
J. S.
Nice and cosy place next to the canal - probably the nicest vibe in little Venice
L. S.
Not as good as usual waited over an hour for mains and my steak really not great normally love this place when I commented no one really cared😒
M.
Excellent service, great food, cosy, dog-friendly. Ticks all the boxes!

Food is good but prices are too high for medium quality. You pay higher prices for the ambience and nice location. The service was very slow as well.
S. B.
Beautiful place for summer days, amazing for winter too as they have good heating system. Definitely recommend
J. Q.

We were a loud bunch of 16 for Sunday lunch . The staff were brilliant, the food delicious and what a lovely location right on the canal. Loved it.
A. H.
The place is very nice but the food is not exceptional and a bit expensive. They definitely do not know how to cook a tuna steak properly!
R. V.
Great drinks and view. Really nice, heated outside sitting area. Quick service.
E. L.
The setting is perfect , the service very friendly and efficient, the food was averagely OK I expected higher quality for the price.

Amazing views, but expensive and staff is rude.
It's a nice place for a date in summer, but otherwise you might as well skip it.
J. S.
Excellent location right on the canal, friendly staff and great quality food. Also a super function room downstairs with Prosecco on-tap
P. J. S.
Especially great during the summer when you can sit on their awesome terrasse. Great crowd, great food, really worth it if you are in the area.
