Reviews of The Wolseley

Was chuffed to find a table on the day itself. Came for breakfast. Last year it was usually fully booked after restrictions were lifted. The place was buzzing when we arrived, it was lovely! Really enjoyed what I ordered. Had always been curious to find out what Kedgeree was all about (even tried cooking it at home). Finally here I tried the authentic version. Delicious!

It’s losing its charm…
I’ve often been to The Wolseley for breakfast or brunch; rarely lunch or dinner but over the past few years it’s been my go to to pop in for a cheeky dessert. I love that I can order a banana split and a pot of tea and while away some time in the hustle of the 1920’s. But lately service has been slow and blunt. The food has lost its charm and there’s no longer the excitement of the table roulette when you arrive as a ‘walk in’. There are also better places for dessert in London with less pomp and circumstance.
It’s a must if you’re a tourist, but only one visit is necessary to get the obligatory pictures to say you’ve been there.

An excellent place with excellent service and high quality food. A lot of the items are made with wine and me and my husband do not eat pork or drink alcohol and they put in great effort to serve us a dish without alcohol, the waiters are absolutely amazing - very kind and I would come back again just for the service of the waiters, very thankful for the effort-filled experience! Please appreciate your waiters! The doorman was also very kind, his smiles to us made our night! Please thank him for us!

Best experience and food of my life! I went here with my brother for afternoon tea and it was life changing. The staff were super attentive and well versed in the menu. It was well priced especially for the food and service quality. I have already recommended this place to my friends when they visit London!

Largely this restaurant was lovely. My mother treated me to lunch here for my birthday which was a lovely occasion and fabulous setting. Staff were amazing and attentive from the start and very helpful. I'd like to say a particular thanks to Nathaniel who looked after us very well, was courteous, polite, genuinely interested and also had time to do the same with his other clients. Point of disappointment was with a lady who approached us as we were eating our dessert at 4:34pm (booking was at 2:30) to tell us that the table was reserved and so we'd have to vacate after dessert. Firstly, we're eating, did not appreciate being interrupted by someone who was quite frankly hard to understand because she was wearing a mask and the restaurant was noisy. Also, table bookings are for 2 hours, so she literally pounced on us 4 mins after the two hour window to tell us that we had to vacate after dessert. This left a sour note and I think she was very rude. Our waiter was very apologetic and really went to extra lengths to ensure we could enjoy our coffees without feeling rushed another part of the restaurant. Apart from this interruption the afternoon was perfect but I do urge the Wolesely staff to think about how they speak to guests should they wish to move them on.

Highly recommend the gnocchi, it was so good. I ordered one, my friend tried a bite and had to order one too on top of the small steak (don’t really recommend this one). Service was ok - they rush around everywhere so it’s kind of hard to get a server to attend to you.

Took my mum for her Birthday and what a pleasant afternoon tea we had. The staff couldn’t have done enough and as I do a lot of reviews and have had a lot of afternoon teas this was right up there with the best. Sandwiches are a delight and the pastry’s and cakes are delicious. I do like how they serve coffee also as not many places do and I’m a massive coffee lover so extra points for that! Also it’s a very good price for what you get and that’s a luxurious afternoon tea.

The Wolseley is a great place to dine, and kicking off the day with a birthday brunch was a lovely treat and surprise for my husband.
The Wolseley is incredibly decadent and lavish with a service and menu to match. The atmosphere had a real buzz and ambience to it.
We were quickly seated at our table which was set so beautifully. The silverware used for serving always makes it a little more unique than anywhere else and definitely worth it.
We had a delicious breakfast which was served impeccably and he even received a little birthday surprise extra.
A cool place to dine whatever the occasion.

Best! Beautiful building, great service, tasty classy British cuisine and very reasonable prices for that level. We paid 100 pounds for the dinner for soups, main, desserts, service and a glass of champagne. We were super full. Had a huge luck to jump in without the booking, thanks to the kindest hostess! Will come back for the afternoon tea!
