Lovely location with a view over Royal Victoria Dock. Perfect if using Emirates Air Line. Service was excellent, and the restaurant was clean. It was great to have a proper pot of tea, which gave us around 4 cups each. The cooked breakfast looked lovely and my husband enjoyed it. I was a bit disappointed with my omelette, which was slightly overcooked for my liking, but altogether a good experience.

One of the few good options around the Excel that won't break the bank and is rarely crowded. Their cheese and meats sharing platter is amazing, artfully arranged and quite generous. In the summer, the outdoor seating overlooking the canal gives you great view to watch all the swimmers/wind surfers.

Great location for an outdoor lunch by the river. We went after visiting Excel....good alternative if you want to get away from Excel. Burgers quite average and therefore a bit on the expensive side for what it was. But overall ok.

Tables should be cleaner if you call yourself a restaurant. White wine should be served cold and a bottle of white should be brought with ice bucket. Food tastes good, but the mains arrived to the table warm instead of hot. Cutlery arrived two minutes after food. Service overall was poor.

Here is a lovely location first and foremost, however a few things off the bat that were not so great.. My pint was short of the mark, and I guess most people don't notice, second they add gratuity automatically at 12.50%. So onto the actual food, it was pretty good I opted for the Salmon and sweet potato fries with salad, all was very good, salad could have been better.. Service was nondescript tbh. So, would I go back.. No.

I thought the initial greeting was a bit cold and I felt like we waited quite a while to be served, this seemed to be down to understaffing not business. However, the waitress that did come over and serve us for the evening was lovely, very polite and accommodating. The food was pricey but beautifully prepared and cooked. Although we did want to tip the waitress, the bill already included an £8.88 gratuity so I wasn't really prepared to leave any more. I hope the staff see those tips and it doesn't just go through the till! If I was in the area I would eat there again, but not if there were more than two of us, it would be too expensive.

Not sure why I have never been before. It is busy all year around so obviously good. I ventured to try in half price august and had the salmon. It was lovely, really well cooked and fresh. The surprise was a wide range of Sam smiths beers on draught. I had lovely organic wheat beer and lager. On my own this time but look forward to returning and sampling way through draught beers properly with friends. Great service as well.

I hosted an event here for well over a hundred people and it was very nice. Great ambience with fantastic views and very friendly and attentive staff. The finger food was also quite nice and everyone seemed to have had a great evening. Usually if the food is not good I get complaints but on this occasion, none at all :-) I would like to come back and try the normal menu next time and update my review. Thanks to all the staff at the venue for making the evening a great one for our guests.

Had the fish and chips, was an amazing experience. The fish looked quite tough at first but it was so soft and tender! The tartar sauce was beautiful too. The restaurant had a nice view and was very cosy. Staff were helpful. There wasn't a lot of gluten free stuff, but our celiacs friend had the risotto which looked incredible. She thought it was very good. Little GF variety, but the existing food was brilliant. TLDR Reasonably priced and nice restaurant, would recommend.

Good food and cosy environment but the service is really slow. Drinks took a while to arrive but the food took forever So I have been back to Top1, months after my first experience. This time there were two of us and the food arrived speedily, the medium rear steak was perfect (according to my friend) however I found the service so much better; staff were attentive and went out their way to provide a non-alcoholic cocktail even though it was not on the menu. Based on my recent experience, I will recommend this place!

I would have given 5 stars but one has to be removed due to the service which was slow and the fact there was a 12.5% gratuity added without word for a party of only three. This is bad form in my books.

Came with my friend. I had the mussels main and she had the vegetarian risotto. My mussels were A M A Z I N G. A massive portion and delicious, definitely worth £14, I'd have expected to be charged more to be honest. A few closed shells but only 3 in the 50 I had. Chips were great too. Dessert was good too. I had a "frozen souffle" which turned out to be a meringue covered in frozen marscapone (a little disappointing) but my friend's cheesecake was delicious. Nicely decorated and beautiful views of the river and canary wharf. Staff a little distant and one was a bit sulky but otherwise great!

A group of us came here on Friday night and we walked away extremely happy customers! The food was brilliant. A few of us had the steak, which we believe was the best we've ever had! The service was great and very quick. We all said we would be coming back.

Super friendly and accommodating staff! I came in and requested an item they turned out to not usually make takeout for to-go and they were more than willing to accommodate me. And as I waited for my food, every single staff member who walked by stopped to check and make sure I was alright/had been waited on. Plus it was a very short wait time. On top of that, it was so much food for the value! I ordered the mussels for about 14 pounds (if I remember correctly) and it ended up being TWO bucketfuls of mussels drenched in garlic sauce (plus fries). I was so shocked! But I didn't have a fridge to put them in later, so easily the most mussels I've ever eaten in one sitting.

A place we have visited a few times. The staff seems to change fairly frequently, but we always seem to have good service. Food is OK and the price is OK. It's not cheap and it's not great, but it's not a bad choice if you have to find somewhere in the area. They use to have a shared seafood dish which was probably the best thing on the menu, but it disappeared... oh well.

Cannot fault the food however trying to order was hard work and took way too long, even ordering a simple glass of wine took 20 minutes. To then add 12.5% charge to the bill for service was a joke. To their credit the manager took off the charge and didn't charge for the wine, hopefully just an off day as food was excellent.

Prices are normal for this type of restaurant. Service is very average. They served my soup and never brought me water, napkins, or cutlery. Had to return after my soup was served. This makes the experience less than desirable. Is is customary for this type of average service in London? Too bad.

Very nice restaurant right on the the Thames, extensive wine list and range of other drinks too. Wide range of food is reasonably priced and very tasty, there is an optional service charge added to your bill but the the staff are very polite and attentive to ensure you are well attended too.

If you manage to get a seat outside (there is plenty seating, but during large events such as the triathlon and big events at the ExCeL it gets incredibly busy) and the weather is nice, your experience is markedly better. I would say that the service is slow, and we had a long wait for the food to come out. I would also suggest checking the menu on their website before booking a table or visiting.

What brings me to this place almost every day is the good coffee- please dont change your supplier ,( best in the area), if you like cappuccino, ask for Justin :), all the staff are great too. The food was great, which was the saving grace because the service and wait times were all over the place. Definitely a bit rusty after the last two years as the food came out at different times and the servers forgot to open and then pour the wine, etc. Luckily the chefs seem to not have forgotten how to cook, as the food was excellent. It took more than twenty minutes before we could order anything, and we were not even asked if we wanted to drink something new the whole time. The store was not even occupied to a third.
