My first visit and amazed by the quality of the food. We had meze which caters for the largest appetite. The dips were first rate as were the meats, halloumi, and calamari. We did have an opportunity to have a quick chat with the owner, Tony. Apparently the loukanika (Cypriot sausages) are specially imported from Cyprus at great cost 'because our customers deserve the best'. I can't dispute these are the best I've ever tasted! And don't forget the desserts! The galatopoureka and portokalopitta are homemade! I had a bit of each. Never tasted better. The total cost was about £40 a head, including a couple of cokes, a sweet and a coffee. I'll certainly be back!

Thought we would try the new Greek restaurant. So glad we did. Was greeted by friendly staff who asked if we had any allergies. Once we sat down and ordered they actually said we think you may have ordered too much food. How honest can you be!!!!. Once the food came it really was delicious. If I was sitting outside I would have thought I was actually eating in Cyprus. Cant wait to go back and try more dishes. If you really fancy something nice go for the Lamb Souvla but make sure you call ahead and ask them to save you some

The food here is phenomenal! We were a group of 11 people with many different food requirements. The waiter was patient and friendly; he helped us choose our dishes and the food was delivered timely. Each plate was DELICIOUS. I will definitely come back and refer this place to anyone who wants to experience Greek Cypriot cuisine!

This is my third or fourth time here so felt I had to give it a review... well what can I say, check out the size of this pork chop... I’m surprised they didn’t need permission to land from Heathrow air control... it’s huge!!! On a serious note the chop was cooked to PERFECTION, moist and so tasty.... yes I ended up chewing on the bone it was so good! Great value too I have to say, portions are immense! For starters we had octopus and calamari with dips, halloumi etc and it was so nice! Staff were friendly and quick to assist and bring your food. If you want an amazing dining experience with fresh high quality ingredients then give uncle Tony’s a try.... you won’t be disappointed!

We’ve tried so many Greek restaurants over the years and usually feel disappointed but that’s all changed now since uncle Tony’s taverna has opened. We are so glad it’s just down the road from us too. We have eaten there regularly and had many take aways from there too and it’s consistently so good . Great tasting food cooked the way Greek food should be cooked and all very fresh and good quality produce . Great value for money too . The place is so clean and the staff are always so friendly and efficient . You must try the pork , lamb and chicken souvla as it’s the best around but everything else on the menu is so tasty too . Can’t wait to eat there again .

This is easily the best restaurant in North London which offers authentic Greek cuisine. I visited with my parents for the first time recently and we were all pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and how attentive the staff were. The menu is varied and accompanied with a fairly extensive wine list. Staff took the time to talk us through the Chef's Specials for the day and both dishes which we ordered from it were delicious. Already looking forward to our next visit!

I would give this place a 5 star but the price was to expensive. We were 6 people n the bill was £225. 6 meals, 5 small beer, 2 water, 3 greek coffee, some dips, pitta n 3 rice pudding. Service was very good, staff brilliant and food was perfect but portions were not the best. At that price we should of got a lot more and still it's to expensive. I expected to pay around £120- £150 at a push. We are from up north n come down to London once a month n honestly I would come here evey time as I am also greek Cypriot so I love this food and the place but now I won't it's a shame.

Overpriced for the small portions (dining in). If you're a true Greek, you won't be satisfied by these meals. The food is tasty but takeaway prices are more reasonable than dining in.

I went to Uncle Tony’s Taverna with my parents and we had the best time! They food was delicious and the music and atmosphere is great. The chicken Souvlaki is so tender, the salad is so tasty! Somehow they have found tomatoes that really taste like they do in the Mediterranean! My dad and I ordered the calamari and it is easily the nicest we have ever had and we order calamari any time we see it on the menu anywhere! The place is perfect for a family get together and the staff are really friendly. Uncle Tony himself even brought us out some specialities to sample! We will definitely be back!

We have been to many Greek restaurants over the years and we have never left feeling like we have had an amazing meal.. at Uncle Tony’s Taverna we most definitely felt amazed. We had a Meze which was perfect. The dips where so yummy - you could tell how homemade they really are, the fish was so fresh and tasty and cooked to perfection. My absolute favourite was the chicken, i have never had such tasty chicken anywhere not even a home cooked BBQ compared! The potions sizes where just right not too big not too small.. gives you a chance to enjoy everything. The restaurant was spotlessly clean and the staff where friendly and so attentive. I can not wait to come back and would definitely recommend this ‘as a must’ to all family and friends. Thank you for the best Greek meal in London!!!

If you want authentic Cypriot food then Uncle Tony’s is the place. Order every week and always fresh the chicken souvlakia isn’t dry like other places it’s cooked to perfection. The kalamari is fresh chips are great with uncle Tonys little herbs. The staff and amazing dealing with order after order after order and they still manage to get the orders out. 5 stars for Uncle Tony and the staff 👍

Lovely little Greek restaurant off Ballard's lane I never noticed before! The open kitchen environment near the seating area is a nice hybrid kitchen /resturant / takeaway experience . Very well priced and they are taking covid procedures seriously.

Very underwhelmed by this place and very surprised by the good reviews! The menu is very limited. The food was mostly ok, although the chicken 'gyro' (same as a doner) that one of our party had was too salty to eat. The portions were ok but the prices, for what you got, were high. The prices for octopus, squid or prawns were ridiculous. The noise level in the place was horrendous - we landed up shouting at each other to be heard. We had booked a table for 7.30pm several days in advance but were told when we arrived that we should vacate by 9pm. Half way through the meal we were told we could leave at 9.30pm instead! Actually, we were very happy to leave much earlier and none of us would bother to go back.

Finally a real Greek restaurant to rival the myriad of Turkish restaurants in Finchley Central. Impeccable service and absolutely superb home style cooking. I would definitely recommend trying any of the specials, but if the venison is on when you visit you're really in luck. It's busy every day and if you are going at the weekend I would advise booking in advance.

We made a last minute decision on Saturday evening as a family after I had finished work to try uncle Tony’s as we had never been there before, being greek Cypriot I have eaten in most the Greek restaurants in north London and I have to say the food was absolutely delicious, the souvlaki was cooked to perfection the salad was full of colour and taste great, the service was excellent and the restaurant itself was fresh and vibrant like stepping into a taverna in Cyprus . Highly recommend this restaurant.

There is a Greek place at the end of our road but it was full so we tried Uncle Tony's and we are so glad we did! This is proper Greek food. The sheftalia was the best I have ever tasted and the souvla was juicy and moist. The chips were hot and hand cut and the there was plenty of fresh salad. Service was excellent and the shop was bright and clean. 10/10 - we will definitely make the effort to keep coming here.

We went for lunch with the office for the first time today, was great! The lunch menu is a really good deal, you get a nice big portion for your money. I loved their sheftalia, a bit different to the usual, and my friends had the souvlakia, which they said were the best around. The restaurant is very clean and the staff very friendly. I just walked into Uncle Tony"s after it has just opend in my area. I heard that it was nice and reasonable prices so I wanted to try. I normally have to drive regularly to Southgate to a venue begining with D where I'm treated extremly well by all the staff and the food is fantastic. But I wanted somewhere much closer to home. So I walked in and stood there hoping to be shown a table or at least see if I could eat for one otherwise I would have used the take away service. Five staff members looked at me and 2 of them were chatting behind the counter and another 2 were also casually chatting and doing other things. However it was not busy as only 4 tables were with customers. Each staff memeber seemed reluctant to serve me or just couldn't be bothered to say hello or welcome. Eventually I chose to walk out rather than stand there looking like an Eskimo at a beach party. I'll give it one more try and if I get served and the food is reasonable I'll change the star rating. Until then I'll be going to Southgate D where they are much friendlier. OK this is an update from my 1 star review previously. As promised I tried once more and this time I decided to try the take away service. I was greeted nicely by 4 people behind the counter and chose a lamb kebabs. The food was cooked fresh and didn't take too long. It was tasty and I'd go again in the future when I'm local.

*****updated**** We finally took the plunge to sit in and I'm impressed! I actually came here three times in one week! The Mezze is the no brainer if you want to try many of the dishes. It's for a great set of starter dishes with fresh toasty pitta. All of the starter dishes are great! The aubergine, pepper and feta dip is insane! The calamari is fresh and not chewy with a lovely fresh taste. The lukaniko (Cypriot wine sausage) is EXCELLENT tender tasty and fresh. The owner actually let us try some of the other dishes they made that are not normally included in the Mezze and I'm SOOO glad we did! The lamb chops are like nothing I have had before! Lifting them up by the bone left the meat on the plate, the literally fell apart! The pork rib suvla was incredible! Sooo soft and tender, one of the best BBQ pork I have ever had! The sheftalia keeps up with the tune, very tasty and clearly home made as well. People come for the chicken souvlakia. And for good reason. It's so much and tender and well seasoned! TLDR: just go! Boom because it get busy and go eat there! ****original take out review**** This review is for the TAKE AWAY only. We have gotten a take away from here about 5 times and they have never gotten the order correctly, missing items we have paid for and I correct kebabs. We always check the order before leaving the restorant and suggest you do the same when getting a take away. The kebabs are lovely but hit and miss, might be depending who is cooking, some times the pork is lovely, moist perfectly cooked and tasty, other times it's dry and even slightly crispy like it's been there for a while. The sheftalia is awesome! Might be one of the best ones I have had at a take away. Good job Tony! Tarama is ok, there is another take away in bounds green that still claims that title (no names here). Parking on the street is a challenge as it's right next to the underground exit but go round the block a few times and you will eventually find one. Price is a little higher that other Cypriot kebab places but fine.

Incredible food and service! A group of 4 of us went there last night at 9,30 pm with a booking for a head wetting celebration dinner. The place was still packed and buzzing. We were greeted by a very friendly waitress and sat at out large table. Ordered starters and Halloumi, Chips,Salad Kolokithokeftedes, Calamari, Pastourma, 4 greek beers and water to start. It was an incredible selection! Everything tasted fresh and looked amazing! The Kolokithokeftedes was sensational and all the dishes, piping hot. Then for mains had a bottle of Greek Red Wine - Makedonikes Red, and it was not bad at all, price point was around £22, a bit pricey but went well with food. Then main, Chicken Souvlaki, Lamb Souvla and Chicken Gyro - the dishes came out and looked amazing, all with salad, chips. The Lamb Souvla just slid off the bone, so tender it was unreal. Then the chicken Souvlaki, generous portion and tasted incredible, more beers, and ordered a side of chips. All I can say is that this is the best meal we had in ages, and certainly the best greek restaurant I have been to in London. Then, comes along Uncle Tony! Very friendly, asked how the food and service was, gave us a long intro into how he started, how they prepare and cook food, 3 kitchens, one purely for vegetables, FSA 5 star rating (expected as its a new restaurant), and very friendly and genuine man. Then he brings 4 shots of home brewed spirit and fruit. On behalf of us all, Thank you Tony! ( the chips alone were better than any in the area). everything was superb and by far, one of the best meals ever! 9/10!! We will be back, tonight for the amazing staff, decor, A1 food, clean and great service.

Since I heard uncle Tony had opened , it bought back memories of an uncle Tony that landscaped my garden 4 years ago and when talking to him his dream was to open his own taverna. Well I was happy to hear this was that same uncle Tony , so for my mum's birthday it gave me the excuse to try it out. I was not disappointed , the decor is perfect , atmosphere great , food excellent (uncle Tony pork chop is a beast of a chunk of meat) and at the end of the night I got to try his home made zivania which was excellent. (My favourite drink) My mum loved her birthday and my dad was stuffed and a little drunk 😅😂😂. Def recommend and will be going back soon.

It's new-ish and finding its place in the rapidly improving Finchley Central. A bit off the beaten track but not bad if you like authentic Greek cuisine. Not cheap but the food was quite good. Not that easy to park so expect a short walk if you drive there. Very close to the Underground station and buses.

Uncle Tony's Restaurant just does that. feels like a family run restaurant with very nice Greek inspired interiors. Food is absolutely delicious and the portions are enormous. Staff are persistently aware and super on their service. I highly would recommend visiting this restaurant for their Greek food
