Reviews of Vineyard
R. V.
The food was delicious. I tried traditional mussaka and wine leaf wraps. The execution was closed to perfect.
However, the wine was unique. I am big wine lovers and I have to say that this was one of the best Greek wine I come close too. We tried Kuros red wine, which is med to full body, really fruity with with hint of tannin. If you like California or napa Valley wines. I highly recommend to try this wine.

Had chicken kebab & rice & salad, it was good!! Had a couple of glasses of red wine (not sure which one) , really smooth 😎! They're great with kids & good service. Thoroughly recommend and definitely come back.🙂

Good location on camberwell grove road - good selection of Greek beers , nice heated outside area which is good for chatting and taking in the local areas atmosphere. Food itself is disappointing - chips or rice are offered with the mains which seemed a little simple - the mains themselves weren’t very tasty - we had the meat mezze and Stuffed Vine Leaves and neither of us thought they were any more than average dishes. Halloumi was however very good! Definitely worth a visit but it’s not a place for a delicious Greek meal out, rather a beer and a couple of starters on a sunny evening.

Such a lovely little place! Staff SO friendly and the prices not too bad. Have come back from island hopping in Greece recently and reminding me of every proper Greek taverna over there! Lovely :)

I went to this restaurant a few weeks back. I did enjoy the food, and my seabass was really tasty and fresh. The only point of disappointment was discovering that the boss is not giving the tips to the waiters!! 3 stars for this reason - give the tips to your employees!
H. A.
Lovely atmosphere on a warm and sunny evening sitting outside. The chicken was tender and seasoned perfectly and served with fluffy rice. Another good reason to love camberwell!
P. J.
Lovely, cosy restaurant with lots of veggie dishes on the menu, good wines, and welcoming staff.
M. Z.
A lovely place with an authentic Europeaness ... Definitely different from those high street chains. Food quality and portions are both very good with affordable price. Even the house wine is above average. Strongly recommend the speciality lamb! I believe we will visit again.

Fantastic resturant. Food excellent. The service was very good. Staff very friendly

Fantastic place. Great taste. Superb services. Highly recommend. Thanks.

Always a decent meal - you won't leave hungry.
E.
Great staff, ok prices. Food could be slightly better
K. S.
Traditional Greek restaurant serving your standard Greek fare. Service was good but food was only ok. Wine is so so for what you pay.
A. D.
Friendly staff and great value, had mini meze all round was delicious!
M. V. B.
Great food and really welcoming and friendly staff.
R. L.
Small family-owned business where you can get typical greek-cypriotic food at its best. The famous meze and the typical cypriotic beer are heavily recommended - both for lunch or dinner sitting outside under the trees.
M. V. B.
Great food and really welcoming and friendly staff.

Delicious Greek food. My favourite was the dolmades. Serving waiting time took a little longer but that was a positive thing because it meant food was not precooked. Once served it tasted like an original Greek home made food should taste; probably even better. Staff were friendly and attentive. I took a second portion of dolmades for home and that was the only negative part. Although it tasted fantastic the container's portion was ridiculous small and overcharged. However, I am definitely visiting again and I can't wait to plan it

Delicious, friendly and affordable.
I visit Vineyard with friends / family once every couple of months for lunch and can't recommend it more highly.
We always have the mini meze (£11 per person) with the first course being a lovely selection of dips and small plates with pita bread fresh from the oven. Second course: freshly grilled meats, salad and perfectly seasoned chips.
For the quantity and quality of food provided, it'll be the best £11 you spend in a long time!
A.
Great restaurant and service with tasty food. Been going here on and off for many years and never been disappointed. Kleftico and swordfish are especially delicious but never had anything bad. Great prices in a relaxed and non pretentious taverna.
r. m.
Great food. Mythos beer. Absolute gem. Sitting outside on a quiet street is perfect.

Average Greek restaurant.
Chick peas in starter too big and hard (no pun intended) kebab main average and would get better at FM mangal.
Prices are reasonable and restaurant is family friendly and has a rustic homely Greek vibe but I feel the food is a little basic.
Would have given 2.5* personally but others enjoyed their food more than I did!

Good place to go on a sunny day with a group as you can sit outside. The special mezze is tasty and very budget friendly. Decent quality given the price point (£11 per person!). I can't speak for the rest of the menu as that's what we always get - with a few beers.
In fact we are repeat visitors and friends and family often suggest we go back there when they come to visit (some of whom have previously lived many years in Cyprus). That is high praise in itself!
A. A.
I have been going here for years. I always order the same things which for me are always faultless. The taramasalata for me is one of my favourites i have ever tried even when in Greece or Cyprus. The octopus starter although expensive (although Octopus is expensive and time consuming so i feel this is validated) is fantastic. The chicken kebab is also good and perfectly cooked.
I feel like the restaurant itself has a comfortably antiquated feel. The staff are always very pleasant. I like that places like this exist and are unchanged and unfussed with food trends. Its lovely in the summer to sit outside too. Definitely worth a visit i would say.

Here is a rundown of my experience
Price £14.30
Starter: Kashamiri (squid version of onion rings basically)
Me and my friends tried each other's starters - one of them ordered prawns with avocado which I didn't know was a thing, but if I came here again, I would DEFINITELY order - it is so soft and creamy; perfect combination.
Btw, the pitta bread (which accompanies all starters) was delicious - so refined and particular; a highlight for sure.
Main: Black eyed beans with chips
I will not lie in saying that this dish disappointed me. While the beans were soft, there were covered in too much olive oil - it was overpowering. The chips were great though; crispy, seasoned, well - portioned - I would happily have them again.
Dessert: I didn't order, one because I was full and two, because the desserts didn't look that appealing. I think the owners should add more traditional desserts. Apart from one dish, they were pretty standard; ice cream; sorbet.
Overall: Great
While I didn't enjoy part of my main, this restaurant is high quality. From the decor to the waiters, to the presentation of the food. As someone who had not tried Greek cuisine, I feel like I got a taster as to what it is like. Not only do I recommend this as a first - timer, but if you want good food guaranteed.
J.
Great food reasonably priced. I've been coming here for years and the quality is always consistent. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. Chicken kebab with rice, chips and feta salad is a must. Great selection of appetisers but starter and main can leave me a little too full.
E.
Great staff, ok prices. Food could be slightly better
A. M.
Nice food and good value for money. We had the 3 courses meze and they served plenty of food for 18 pound. Also we didn’t want pork meat and they replaced it with extra chicken and a vegetarian alternative. We really liked it and will go back!
P. T.
Been recently after a long absence and walked out with mixed feelings. The food was not up to scratch and the meze far superior to the main courses. They remain friendly and obliging as ever though and will bend over backwards to make you feel like you are a special visitor in their own home!
A. D.
Lovely food and service!
E. M.
Good food and lovely setting and location. Good for the neighbourhood. What you see is what you get. Authentic food and traditional setting, could do with a redecoration at some point but overall good place, safe choice and predictable.
E. F.
Absolutely love this restaurant, stumbled on it by accident one day and was blown away by how amazing the fish was. Went again last night for a birthday dinner, the staff were fantastic and food was incredible. Such a lovely atmosphere - definitely go!!
r. D.
I've now eaten here 3 times and absolutely love it: paid £11 per head for the two course mini meze and feel absolutely stuffed having eaten a range of bread, dips, chick peas, potatoes, chicken, pork and salad ALL delicious.
They also sell Cypriot lager which is a rare treat and extremely refreshing.
L. A.
Lovely fresh food and friendly staff.
Thanks
G. B.
Genuine Greek, with the power to project you back to the real family-run taverna.
However, food is not always impeccable. Moussaka in particular, is nothing you would return for.
Staff are nice.
L. W.
Authentic family experience. Terrific food and kind staff. The lunch special is exceptional value. I go twice a week.
R. C.
Really cosy tavera-style place. No room out front so we sat in. Food was delicious and great value - meal for two with a beer, under £30. Loved it!
Z. G.
Fantastic restaurant in the heart of Camberwell.
Really authentic Greek food, great value for money & the staff were lovely - highly recommend!
J. B.
We hada lovely meal and all staff were friendly and helpful. The food is good BV and reasonable in price.

I was a regular customer many years ago & moved from the area. Just a trip down memory lane. just as I remembered it. A good evening, good food and pleasant evening.

Amazing food every single time. The best neighbours a new business in the area could ask for. Thank you Vineyard.

This is a really nice place with authentic Greek food and nice staff. Prices are very good which is rare in London. Go there!

Went with a big group. Service and food could have been better. I will go again but just 2 or 4 people.
K. C.
Great local place with fantastic food and very friendly staff. Love coming back for the experience!
P. P.
Great staff, nice place, bland food._____
....We've been spoilt by Troodos Greek Restaurant by the Ally Pally entrance in Priory Road.__
Vineyard's is a nice place -really Mediterranean looking inside and with nice seating
out the front with an awning for shelter.__
However, the 'cooking' just seems to be a matter or making things hot then serving them (or just serving them in the case of cold dishes)...
_____________________________________________________________________Grilled swordfish was well-cooked but just grilled and not char-grilled so no added flavour. Beans and spinach were heated-up but (apart from lemon and oil) had no flavour whatsoever.
_____________________________________________________________________________
Rice accompaniment was uninteresting.
____________________________________________________
Nothing WRONG with the food but taking something out of the fridge and heating it up to serve isn't really 'cooking' in my book.
_____________________________________________________
I WOULD recommend this place to have fried breaded whitebait or some Tzatziki / Tarama' and pitta with a cappucino or a Keo, sat outside on a warm day.
_____________________________________________________
But the main courses are just so bland, no care or enthuseasm has gone into them.
_____________________________________________________
A real shame as the staff and decor are very agreeable.

Service
K. R. B.
The food as ever is scrumptious and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. I would eat there every time we are in London.
R. P.
(Translated) I didn't particularly like it. Without infamy and without praise we say so. The moussaka was good but I tasted better elsewhere. I took as an appetizer the cabbage rolls rice and minced meat but they were totally tasteless. Good tzatziki. Disappointing Greek salad: salad, tomatoes, feta and onions without any other added seasoning. There was no creaminess. Only raw vegetables placed on a plate. And then there were no olives, the characteristic of the Greek salad. As a dessert I had yoghurt with honey and it was very good
(Original)
Non mi è piaciuto particolarmente. Senza infamia e senza lode diciamo così.
