Reviews of Vinoteca King's Cross
S. C.
Had a really lovely meal with my boyfriend to celebrate my 31st birthday. I loved that it had nice decor, high ceilings and the food was absolutely delicious. We don't usually drink wine, but because it's a vinoteca and each dish had a wine already paired we decided to give it a go, and was great great choice.
The port at the end with the chocolate desert was the cherry at the top of the cake.
Only two details we didn't enjoyed about the dinner, one, was that on our arrival we saw the receptionist running back and forward to great the several people arriving while the manager was sitting at the reception on his whatsapp.
That felt really really rude. Not even a Hi on our arrival, while the receptionist was doing her best to greet everyone quickly.
The second point was that from the moment we ordered until the meal arrived was around a 45 minutes wait, we were really starving.
P. T.
Good atmosphere, lovely staff and nice wines.
We tried the wine tasting, a bottle of wine and dessert which was really small and basic, I think this place need to improve the desserts for sure.
2 people, wine tasting, 1 bottle, 1 dessert: 56£

Came to celebrate a friend's birthday. Food was standard brunch fair and decently prepared. I had the eggs Florentine. English muffins were nice and fluffy and eggs were cooked well.
The reason I'm giving a three is because service is incredibly lacking. They are not very attentive and they didn't come to see if we had all received our food. One guest had not and we had to try and flag somebody down after waiting for 5 minutes to see if it would have been brought out on its own. It actually took even longer than that because I think they had to make it. Nobody came to see if we wanted to order anything after we were done eating. No offers of coffee or dessert. Again took a while to get the bill.

It’s not often that you have such a good experience that you want to find out the staff names behind the experience. Well Stefan the manager and Paola our server really made a nice meal - a wonderful meal! The beetroot and ricotta starter was a great start followed by the Steak bavette for the main which was perfectly cooked to our taste.
Above all it was the atmosphere and the staffs attentiveness and positivity that really shone through, there was a post work Friday night buzz in the restaurant, so if you are in the area or work in area Vinoteca is certainly a great option to consider.
P. A.
Really great place to share small plates! Everything was delicious and the waiters were very friendly !
T. R.
Great place for a quiet dinner or drinks in an otherwise very busy area. Great food and an even better selection of wines for every taste.
They have a small wine shop too if you fancy grabbing a bottle for home.
G. G.
Brilliant wine, brilliant food, great service. Pricing is up there as you'd expect, however plenty of cheaper wines available. Definitely will be back.
j. K.
Sunday roast was incredible! Service provided by Anna, Gerda and Gabriele was unforgettable. Definitely will be back and will suggest it to friends too! however the dark chocolate cake could be served with ice cream instead of cream! Thank you guys!
M. B.
I went there on Friday night with my friends. The food was delicious. The service was excellent - the staff were polite. Our waitress Anna was absolutely amazing. She new everything about the wine. She recommended us argentinian Malbec Catalpa which was perfect. I recommend this place to everyone. Thanks Anna for your excellent service 👍
G. D.
It’s the second time I go to Vinoteca, is a go to place if you are looking for outdoor space to drink good wine. I definitely recommend the cheese croquettes and the bavette with fries.
N. S.
Good food. I had the cod and it was delicious. Other members of our party found their stake a bit chewy but good overall. The location is good with an ok atmosphere for lunch. Staff were friendly and attentive. Required a deposit for a larger party. Will be back.
D. J.
I had real good time with my friend and had a great meal as well. The plaice looked amazing and I got to show off my skills cutting it - delicious~!! Thank you Gerda for the great service tonight!
M. B.
Nice place with a good vibe. I went there to have a beer and relax. Mathews served me very well! He was attentive and helpful! Without a doubt I will return!
N. R.
Such a special night, the staff are so attentive and the wine is amazing. You would be crazy to miss this place. Gabri and Mathew made us laugh so much and guided us through the menu so well. I can’t wait to come visit again!
T. A.
Went a couple of weeks ago with no prior knowledge of this chain. It's a bistro at a station so it's fair to say expectations were low, but it was convenient for our party and the reviews were reasonable.
We were very pleasantly surprised! The food was very good for the price: really excellent and well-cooked hanger steak for most of the adults, and a nice piece of trout for others. The veg portions were a bit underpowered: a few beans with the trout, a handful of watercress with the steak, and nothing at all with the kids' gnocchi.
But the real star of the show is the kids' menu, which is effectively slightly pared-back and smaller versions of some of the adult food: two courses for £8! And they were able to further adapt it to suit some fussy eaters and allergies. Bravo! Service was unfussy but attentive - just right.
It did smart to pay £5 for a 330ml bottle of alcohol-free beer, but for a fast-turnover restaurant it gets a lot right. Would definitely go back.
H. B.
Staff were attentive and friendly, service was impeccable and great choice of wines by the glass as well as the bottle. Portions on the small side (small plates plus cheese board) though tasty. Romesco sauce really wasn’t - just marinated peppers, no nuts or smoked pepper.
N. D. (. R.
I was impressed, lovely service from front of house to the waiting service, the food was really good and relatively reasonable. This was a great place for brunch and boy was I satisfied. I will need to check out the evening for a dinner and wine. The crazy thing about this place they have a wine membership which means you are able to get whole range of wines delivered to your door. Its something i will have to review on this extra service. Watch this place guys. But do check it out breakfast is very tasty.
J. T.
Quite a chill place to relax as well as to eat & drink. We weren’t able to get a table for dinner the other night & hence went again for breakfast. Choices were quite abundant for breakfast & prices were very reasonable. Food was decent. I ordered the orange juice & unlike many others it was indeed fresh juice.
M. R. J.
We had a fabulous vegan bavette here, with superb service from all staff, and great wine advice from Oscar, which transformed the experience.
Great ambiance, efficient service and tasty food, accompanied by fine wine - what more can you ask for?
Very handy location for the return train, too.
Highly recommended.
s. k.
We always come for the bavette, you can never go wrong with the bavette and a glass of wine.
T.
We came here early on a Monday during a very rainy day. Service was quick & attentive
The wine selection is somewhat overwhelming but with a wide selection so there's something for all. We had two reds from Italy that we're both very palatable.
Food-wise, the bread, padron peppers & croquettes are perfect for nibbling on, however the pate was very underwhelming & would not recommend.
Overall I would recommend for a casual catch-up with friends, but for dinner I'd recommend elsewhere.
S. F.
A lovely evening at Vinoteca! Our waiter, Gabriele, was so friendly and a joy to be served by, helping to recommend wines to suit our tastes. Would definitely recommend this place for catch up drinks or a cheeky first date.
D. P.
Excellent service, very attentive and friendly. Food was good, but wanted more choice of wines by the glass.
M.
Amazing experience on Valentine's day! Very nice Napolitan wine paddle and great service delivered by Anna.
c. j.
Nice white wine and mushroom tagliatelle and the soup really tasty. Relaxed ambience. Would recommend and probably will return. Not cheap. 2 courses plus wine plus service £31
O. O.
Good food, great atmosphere, attentive staff
M. A.
First time. Wish they had pancakes the brunch menu has good selection except no pancakes or waffles. Great tasting food and presentation. Staff are super friendly and very attentive. Had a great experience will def go back again. Lots of room to seat.
M. M.
Second visit here. Food is really good and prices reasonable. Service is good too. They have a well priced set lunch. Recommended place! Duck salad and grilled snapper were delicious.
M. C. D. S. C.
I've been there few times and always was a good time, just recommend to check the closing time.
The food was good, they have a nice list of wine and the atmosphere is nice. 👍🏼
D.
Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable shop selling interesting wines including skin contact and natural all at sensible shop prices, combined with a modern bar and wines available by the glass. Lovely place to drop in to do the crossword with a glass and buy a bottle to take home for later!
B. C.
Food was lovely and good service. Wine menu is very extensive, but house wine more than acceptable.
V. D.
Great space for sitting out in the sun and inside looked nice. Food that was being served looked good too. Service is quick and efficenct. Near the busy train station but you would not know sitting in this area. One downside is the limited number of wines by the glass, I could only see one on the menu. They do have a decent selection of beers though.
L. B.
The food is really good but it took almost an hour to come out... it was probably just today; but we were very close to cancel and just leave due to how slow the kitchen was
M. L.
Service a little slow but food good and of course the wine list is great
T. C.
Much better than I expected. Extensive, well priced wine list, good food (though my starter was a little too salty) and great atmosphere and fit out. I'll be back. Try the Georgian red wine, a complete surprise how good it was.
S. D.
Nice wine selection and decor but the service was a little cold and generally the food is overpriced for the quality.
N. S.
HUGE wine choice, but skip the full list and just pick the recommended wines against each food item.
M. D.
Gerda was amazing tonight, always a pleasure to be served by Gerda!!!
M. L.
Service a little slow but food good and of course the wine list is great
S. M. C.
nice restaurant and the meals is so good.
J. S.
Excellent meal and service. Good value for money and a lovely environment
O.
Smart but cold. Chain vibe with few smiles from the staff. Only one beer from tap available (the other was broken). Good people watching location.
P. D.
Some inspired choices, but relatively small portions
J. T.
Great find at Kings Cross.. Excellent service.. Delicious food with a brilliant ambience.. Not over the top prices for London.. Will be back.....
N. T.
Good wine, very overpriced, terrible service.
N. M.
Atmosphere is quite stressful, feels like it's too many waiters walking into each other. The dishes were good on average but not amazing. All our meat was cooked to perfection though!!
Good and interesting wines.
I. M.
Food wasn’t great, but Anca was the best waitress!
B. H.
Great overall experience. The malbec was cracking; take the courgette over the croquettes. Steak was perfectly cooked if a little stringy. Superb (knowledgeable, efficient, friendly) staff on a Friday evening.
D. S.
Marvellous service from Ludovica.
Really lovely wine and cheese, great Friday night.
J. S.
Excellent meal and service. Good value for money and a lovely environment
J. W.
Delicious food, good atmosphere and friendly service. Just a few minutes walk from King's Cross Station so very convenient too.
T. K.
It’s lovely now that they have a bigger outdoor seating area even better during the sunny days.
They have a great selection of wines and great vibes however I would say food is okay but not outstanding.
C.
Managed to squeeze in a Brunch here even without a reservation and had what felt like a very classy time, with some lovely eggs royale! Great staff and nice and easy service!
K. J.
Super-friendly and accommodating front of house team, including the waitress showing us to a very accessible table, and the barman pointing out the lift to the bathroom to us, without being asked because they saw we had mobility issues; it's great when people realise and are proactive before you have to say anything, it makes you feel cared for and looked after.
Food was wonderful and the staff really went the extra mile for us. Everyone who brought our food was lovely to the little one I was with as well, which is much appreciated..
Social distancing, mask-wearing and hygiene too were excellent and we felt very safe.
Three beautifully presented and delicious courses plus a glass of wine for the £18 lunch deal for such good food is really great value, and the waitress particularly went to check (again, without being asked) to see if she could offer me a soft drink instead of the wine when I said I was working so couldn't drink. Really thoughtful gesture and I ended up with the best lemonade I've had.
Will definitely be back often as I'm starting a new job in the area.
P. Z.
Nice place, elegant and they have outside area in the summer. Nice wine and sides too.
R. M.
Decent place. Service was really good until the waiter said we would have to "give the table back" after a few coffees and a bottle of wine. I do understand that maybe they had bookings scheduled for later, but the place was still very (i mean VERY) empty. It would be perhaps a bit more polite if the approach was different than "Guys, we need the table back" without any previous notice. I was really upset and honestly didn't even want to ask the reason, just leave.
Apart from that (lol) the place has a nice atmosphere and its quite cosy.
T. M.
Great service by Gerda. She’s was very warm and welcoming
D. G.
If you're on the go and have a impending deadline to complete - this is the place to get a decent drink and work through it. The staff were really great and accommodating. They didn't bother us, even when last hour was called and supplied power to our dying laptops! Drink-wise it was Tasty beer, however I didn't have a chance to try the food out , but definitely will next time around. On the basis of their staff friendliness and customer care this place ranks high in my books!
g. g.
Anna was the best this evening. Top wine and top service
S. M. C.
nice restaurant and the meals is so good.
D. G.
Great service and excellent vine recommendation by Anna.
N. T.
Good wine, very overpriced, terrible service.
J.
It was a very busy afternoon, the place was packed but they named to squeeze us in, took our order and even managed to get our food to us very quickly! Super tasty brekkie would highly recommend!
I. H.
Really nice restaurant. Helpful and friendly staff. Vegan food limited but delicious. Vegan wine is clearly marked on the wine list😃
M. H.
Food is good and always practical for a nice meal before jumping on a train
S. J.
Great afternoon family and our friend Pete, who bought us a bottle of fizz for our upcoming 50th anniversary. One of the staff retrieved the bottle for us to keep as a memento of the occasion. Outstanding!
R. G.
Fantastic place to spend a Saturday afternoon. Great choice of wines and a great spot to watch the world go by.
M. D.
Gerda was amazing tonight, always a pleasure to be served by Gerda!!!
A. T.
Great service, wine list is excellent and the food selection is good if not extensive and great for dietary requirements too. Definitely recommend and will be back as usual! Particularly great service this weekend so thanks.
M. G.
It was very busy early Saturday evening. Fortunately we had booked a table as they were turning others away. The food menu has some really delicious options with lots of fish. The kids menu was especially good and the main portions were decent. The wine list is immense, but the food is very good for a place where alcohol is the focus. Lots of people seemed to just pass through for a glass of wine. It was fairly noisy being busy, but we could still all hear each other. Staff and service were excellent. It's very handy for Kings Cross station and far superior to the station concessions.
C. W.
Great food and wonderful service. It felt like the staff couldn't do enough to help.
I had the Neal's yard croquettes, vegan bavette, and the cheese board, and everything was wonderful. The Romanian rosé recommended by the waiter was brilliant.
J. T.
Great find at Kings Cross.. Excellent service.. Delicious food with a brilliant ambience.. Not over the top prices for London.. Will be back.....
R. A.
My Sunday roast was delicious.
Desserts were just okay though.
M. G.
Excellent quality of wine and food. The service was flawless despite how busy the restaurant gets. Nice atmosphere. A bit loud but that's because of success. Elegant venue but get very busy. Advice to book.
S. C.
Great restaurant with good meat selection. And very nice wines! Vibrant terrace
A. F.
It's a restaurant and bar with good vibes and inner decorations. They serve food from brunch all the way to dinner, and has got a really wide range selection of drinks. On the dinner menu, they even have wine pairing suggestions for each of the food item, which is helpful and probably friendly for alcohol drinkers. The food quality was good and the staff were friendly. The restaurant is also at a very convenient location just near King's Cross station so it can get very busy and a bit noisy in the evening time. If you are interested to go in the evening, I'd suggest to book a table in advance. There is not a large selection of food but decent, some of the food items can be a bit pricey.
K. R.
Absolutely wonderful place to eat. I loved my meal and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
J. S.
Staff really made us feel welcome. Food was great with an extensive wine menu.
M. S.
I came for a drink and for a "wine bar" I expected better wines- even when ordeing by the glass. I tried the savignon blanc and the reisling, and both were poor. Nice place to sit for a drink though.
R. C.
Stumbled across this place and glad we did. Food was delicious, well-seasoned and good portions. Staff were friendly and attentive. Bathrooms were lovely and sparkling clean with gorgeous smelling hand soap. Atmosphere is great. Can’t fault it at all.
T. C.
Great wine selection and good food. Nice spot (especially when sunny) and decent prices.
S. V.
Lovely place, classical restaurant with very delicious food!
E. B.
Nice place to visit if you are on the way of King's Cross. Close to the station in a nice and modern building, this "vinoteca" is a nice place to meet people for a drink. I just put the 4 stars because the food didn't very impressed me. Overall anyway, such a nice place.
A. D. S. J. B.
Well, that was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise grey (weather-wise) day. I enjoyed the avo, feta and chili on sourdough toast with a side of creamy scrambled eggs. The cappuccino was aromatic and flavoursome and served in the size of cup I love (I'm not a fan of anything upsized). The servers were attentive and friendly and the restaurant is CoVid compliant - thank you! Be safe, be well, be HAPPY 💞
T. C.
Good outdoor sunny spots available.
Brunch menu is predominately mainstream (which is nice - no funny business).
Poached eggs well cooked. Portobello mushroom dish surprisingly good. Bread is toast white bread.
Varied drink selection although coffee average. Prompt service but gets quite busy. Nice that it’s tucked away from Main Street. Seats not very comfortable.
Wine shop inside.
T. R.
Great location, pleasant staff but other than that, not too much out of the ordinary.
H. U.
Excellent wine list. You literally have a booklet. Really close to the station so it's also very convenient for a quick lunch or dinner right before or after your train.
B. M.
Busy, great wine list, but pricey
A. E. D.
Great venue for a quiet evening of wine and cheese
P. D.
Some inspired choices, but relatively small portions
B. F. M.
Is a nice place to eat when you are near king cross / San pancreas I love the food and as I lover of wine is a nice place to try different wines. I come from spain so is a big thing for me. I'm not so happy with the service as I was alone for lunch and the service kept attend other customers that arrive after me. Even some finish before me instead I was only me and they where a family of 4. The food was nice and I need to say that a girl from the kitchen as she was wear a black apron if I don't recall bad she was asking me if I need something and was her who made aware others that I was there waiting for long time. That girl was a foreign like me I could tell on the accent so thank you for help me. The woman and the male waitress they absolutely ignored me. I would recomend more carefully in customer service even when they are solo as I was. Anyways I will go back for a second chance and I love wine and I want to try again. Some days can be harder than others. Thanks
N. H.
I had a wonderful evening at Vinoteca with two friends, the food was excellent and the wine great too. The staff were very accommodating of our booking late in the day (even on a busy Thursday evening) and then adding an extra person to the table last minute. Despite this we were sat on a lovely table and thoroughly looked after.
S. C.
Great wine selection, really helpful and friendly staff for a casual evening drink in the sunshine.
L.
Great spot to watch the world go by, staff are very attentive. Worth coming to for a more enjoyable wait for your train from either Kings Cross or St Pancras.
R. P.
Good atmosphere. Friendly staff. Colossal selection of great wine for every taste - even mine (and I like a sparkling red - not easy to find!). Good food. Reasonable prices. Best of all, if you like the wine, it can be bought from their on-premises shop - at shop (less than restaurant) price to take away with you. I have been here many times, and look forward to many more visits. Go - you will not be disappointed.
S. T.
We stopped for a quick drink before getting our train. Fast and efficient service. Didn't try the food so can't comment about that.
D. C.
Food was very good. Beautifully designed restaurant. Only downside was the waiter forgot part of our order, which we didn't want anymore by the time we left. He didn't seem to speak English that well. The manager was apologetic at least, and seemed to address him about it, although he appeared defensive saying he didn't hear us say it, even though he seemed to acknowledge the item when taking our order.
D. W.
Excellent food and wine (very large wine menu). Steak was good. Our waitress was very knowledgeable about the wine though due to the restaurant being busy, service was slow at times (which doesn't help with the 2 hour reservation limit). Agree with other commentators, prices are a tad high
P.
Food was lovely but service poor.
M. D.
Our waitress was friendly and accommodating but service was very slow. It took 30 minutes for the starters to come out and I ordered cherry tomatoes with mashed avocados. It was not very busy so I was surprised at the pace. The portions were small (3 course meal) and the starter and dessert (fruit salad) were no thrill options so I came out hungry. We had the set menu but compared to other establishments, with similar deals, it wasn't very satisfying. The wine was crisp and easy to drink but this was sadly overshadowed by the meal. I would recommend Vinoteca for a quick drink and a bite but not for a meal
S.
I went there for lunch with a friend. The food was OK, but nothing special. Yet a 2 course lunch was only £12.95 (as of March 2017), which is a good price for a normal lunch.
Didn't drink the wine, so I cannot say anything about the quality of it.
The service was also just OK. Messed up the order twice by bringing a wrong dish. They replaced it with the correct one quickly though and apologised for the mistake. However, I ended up eating my main when my my friend ate her starter, and I ate my dessert while she ate her main.
That was a bit odd.
It is also rather noisy and crowded with long tables that different groups have to share. So having a private conversation is difficult.
Overall an OK place, but nothing more.
E. T.
Lovely staff, great selection of wines, and the lunch menus are really reasonable! Miss the wine tasting evenings which were great fun, but it's still a great place to go and chat about wines and pick up some bottles for home if you fancy something a bit different!
M. D.
The restaurant is located in a convenient and beautiful area. Service is good and the food fine
B. M.
Amazing variety of wines available, a wonderful gentleman took time to listen to the kind of tastes I enjoy from a wine and suggested a delicious dessert wine to me and I loved it! I wish I remembered the name of it as I'd love to buy a whole bottle! Will definitely return when I'm around the area. Great service!
N. C.
Wine, as expected, was great however the food let's it down. It was a last minute venue choice on a lovely sunny afternoon. Service was excellent and wine choice was vast. We ordered the cheese and meat sharing platters and were left very disappointed.
t.
Excellent and interesting menu, great selection of wines by the glass, by the bottle, and for resale. The owner is charming, helpful, and very interested in sharing his passion for wines, wine & food pairings. Gorgeous setting, magical depending on the light/time of day. I have to stop here every time I'm in London.
M.
Nice atmosphere, excellent tapas.
S. I.
Service fab, wine very interesting and delicious, food disappointing. This was the raspberry frangipan tart with only one raspberry in it. We made a comment, manager came over and tart deducted from bill. If that had been the only poor standard on food would not have minded but it was not! Food standards slipping. Shame.
J. S.
Great selection of drinks. Delivered via table service. Clean and bright
N. T.
Very modern building & interior. Large selection of wine for on & off-sales. Excellent table service offered for our pre-dinner drinks party. The house rosé was delicious. Didn't try the food but would return to try that another time.
N. k.
Really great wine selection to suit all budgets.
M. S.
Great food. Nice place to chill and watch the world go by. (If it's sunny)
A. W.
I had my Hen Lunch at Vinoteca Kings Cross a few months ago, it was fabulous! Although it was a busy Saturday afternoon, the staff were friendly and helpful for our large party of twenty. The food and wine as always was delicious and all of my guests commented on what a lovely time they had! As friends and family where travelling from Liverpool, Newcastle, Wales, Southampton, St Albans and all areas of London, it was an ideal location for everyone to easily to get to, we had a great time!
K. H.
A great place to stop off at either for a bite to eat or a drink whilst waiting for a train at Kings Cross or St Pancras. Reasonable menu including smaller bites. As thr name would imply there is a good wine selection with off site sales also available. A good selection of other alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks including sugar free organic cola.
A. M.
Nice wine bar with a good selection of wines. Tables are too much squeezed.
My friend and I went for a snack, picking a selection of starters. Good was almost good.
My wine, a Greek one, was not that great. I frankly was expecting better.
Service was not excellent.
R. M.
Not bad, not great. Ate from the brunch menu and although tasty there wasn't enough for one dish on its own to fill me up.
The Sunday roast looked good though, so plenty of food envy from me.
Service was also a bit haphazard, although the staff were friendly and, as we were a group, we were forced to pick from a reduced menu which seemed unnecessary.
J. L.
Very nice bottle collection as well as an inviting spot to relax and sip. Food offerings are a bit hit and miss. Burrata with squash puree was very interesting, free range chicken cooked nicely, skip the sea food lasagna.
N. P.
Great convenient location, good attentive service, excellent wine options, delicious food, lively yet a little more sophisticated atmosphere. Good for dinner evenings with friends or business meetings earlier in the day.
A. W.
Had a fine meal of lamb, but the highlight was the accompanying wine. The recommended wine was not available but the waiter suggested a similar glass which was exquisite and matched my meal perfectly. Staff were knowledgeable, attentive and polite.
K. E.
Had breakfast here. Even tho they were open the kitchen wasn't ready. Wrong things got brought to the table and it took 35-40 mins for the food to be served. My breakfast was nice but basic. Probably look elsewhere before attempting to come back for food at least. Will definitely try it for post work wine.
S. G.
Had some delicious small plates and bottle of wine. Wine took along time to come, otherwise all good
A. O.
Great place for wine lovers as well as foodies. They suggest wines to go with each dish if you're not sure what to choose or you can soeak to staff, they're all sommeliers. I had their risotto and it was fantastic, especially with Riesling

I work in the area and this is one of my favourite places to go to, not just for drinks but for food too. There is a huge selection of wines at good prices for a glass and the food is simple and really good quality. Love the fact that they change the menu quite often so there's always something new to try
A. A.
Best bavette steak I've ever had and I keep coming for more. Plus, amazing, interesting wines and great service! What more can you ask for
L. L.
Might become my go to place when I meet people near St Pancras. I like that the table are more generous in size and more spread out than average. Food is tasty, but not the choice of wine (or competence) you would expect from a place called vinoteca.... Rather limited if you go by the glass. I asked for Chablis and not being available by the glass, I was recommended a Chenin Blanc (£8 for 175ml) which is the total opposite.
J. 2.
I truly love this place to have a nice lunch before I head back home taking the train. Food is just excellent and you can enjoy a nice vine or coffee or both to relax before your long journey starts. 😊
R. C.
Visited here with my father for Sunday roast. The pork was tender and flavour some. Whole meal was great as well and felt very full afterwards. Great place near Kings Cross station.
D. Y.
came here on a saturday with friends for brunch.
The restaurant was quite empty, only 2-3 tables inside were full. People mostly sat outside.
Service is alright. Food is okay but I dont think I would come back for the food again. I ordered the avocado toast and it was not that exciting. a bit plain.
nice environment though :)
P. T. (.
Large choice of good wines at a price which is reasonable for London. The food was also very good.
My main complaint would be about the noise level. We were 6 and between the music and people it was difficult to hear the people who were not sitting directly next to me.
C. C.
Good vibes for drinks with friends, it's busy but likely won't need to queue. Food was alright but presentation was slightly sloppy on the day of my visit; had the risotto but it tasted a bit unusual. May try another location in the area next time.
M. P.
The food and wine here is really very good. If you like a steak, have the bavette. Everything with seafood is excellent. The only thing that could be improved is the attentiveness of the wait staff, who, while all really lovely, could pay a bit more attention.
A. H.
Vinoteca is in a super spot sandwiched between Kings Cross & St Pancras. I was there on a sunny Sunday lunchtime. After reading some of the reviews below I was worried about the service. But I didnt have to be. There is lovely relaxed outside seating if the weather is good and inside the room is very airey with double height ceilings and full of glass to bring in lots of light. Service couldnt have been better ! Orders were taken efficiently - our orders were simple sunday roasts all round and when a coffee was missed the extra coffee was brought quickly and it was done very cheerfully. Also we were offered tasters of various wines ! The Sunday roasts were delicious between £16- 18 which is normal for London these days. The wine was v nice. The wine list was fun & helpful and there are lots of it. The list also shows prices if you wanted to buy from the shop which is at the back ! All in all very happy with the place. I would go back again for sure.

Had dinner and drinks on Wednesday evening. The food and wine was delicious but the service was very poor. We didn't get any service without having to get the attention of the waitresses and they were unfriendly and unapologetic. Shame because it's otherwise a lovely evening out.
T. T.
Great wine! Was there for my last lunch (as opposed to last supper) with my boyfriend before he flew out to the other side of the world. Awesome how this place was just what we needed.
P. R.
Great quality food and great service
A. C.
Great selection of wine. Definitely value for money! The staff are attentive and friendly. Recommend highly!
J. O.
Really enjoyed their October set menu lunch. It was just the right size, very reasonably priced and most importantly-tasty.The choice of wine was excellent starting from really quite affordable bottles (but still very good quality) to more expensive ones.I like their wine categorizing system (from 1-4) next to each description showing at a glance which wines are more fruity and which more complex. The place is spacious, has a pleasant interior and is very clean.Staff are polite and helpful.
A. P.
Just came for a beer whilst waiting for a train. Nice selection of craft beers by the bottle. Usual prices. Service slow for somewhere by a station so pay up when your drinks arrive if you don't want to miss your train.
R. I.
Great venue for meeting people. Friendly staff decent wine and beer options. We didn't ear but the food looked very impressive.
P. L.
Bad cut of steak. Food was okay. Server was nice but the entire experience dragged because the service was extremely slow. I liked the atmosphere in the dining room. Restrooms were gross.
J. L.
Came here on a lark on a Sunday afternoon. Nice location, great food. The brunch menu had a good selection - will happily come back here to try some of the things I missed.
My only complaint: they don't do to-go boxes - hate to waste even a bite of that yummy cheese.
m. s.
Visited here for a meal with a work colleague on a Wednesday evening - excellent food and staff extremely accommodating, even when we persisted in throwing questions and requests at them. Happy to go back there again when another opportunity comes up and will check out some of the other locations in London.
excellent.

A. M.
Great wine and super helpful staff as we had two buggys
R. P.
Good position and light and airy but far too expensive.
Food disappointing, doesnt live up to the wines. Ok for a rendezvous but just have one glass of wine and move on.
M. M.
Never ever a complaint with Vinoteca. Food is always good, great wine, nice atmosphere with a good vibe. Plus their annual steak and wine offer is a great bargain.
M. C.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff; great service.
Food is simply delicious, portions are generous, prices are reasonable and the selection of wine is the perfect excuse to come back each and every week!
M. B.
Great place to share a bottle of wine.
B. Y.
Wine selection amazing, food delicious but a pity that service was so slow.
I had intended on buying a bottle to take away but service was too slow.
D. A.
Delicious meal and great service.
M. G.
The best part about this branch of VInoteca is not the buzzing atmosphere, or the beautiful settings. It's the tiny little wine shop tucked away in the back selling all of the varieties they're serving at the bar. For almost off-license costs we've walked away with amazing reds and sparkling's that we've tasted with our dinner.
l.
Good wine selection (even some wines featured from Greece), food was very mediocre for the price.
Location is optimal if you need somewhere to grab a beverage near Kings Cross area.
L. D.
Perfect atmosphere, service, food and wine. So much variety in terms of wines by the glass. The bar snacks are too tempting... leave room for the meal!
H. D.
Great english food, the Pork belly was amazing, best I ever had. The wine list was also great. Service was super. Only issue was the noise. Bill was reasonable
A. C.
Massive selection of wines, good range of accompanying food. Ideal for a quick drink whilst waiting for the train. Bit pricey but then that is expected due to its location.
C. T.
Nice environment. If you are a wine lover thats your place as they have a very long list of wines to choose from. Definitely going back.
D. D.
Nice location, nice decor inside. Didn't have any wine but the food was wonderful! Had me sitting back and savouring each bite. I'll definitely be back
R. A.
Vinoteca, even when it's busy, staff always find us a table. Love the food, wine and desserts. Quality is very high and good value for money.
E. T.
Awesome place with good quality food? Lots of veggies and more healthy options. Love the fact that each dish has a recommended wine.
G. G.
Quality of the wine and food was very good (although a little overpriced) but we wait for long and we received the wrong dish. After receiving the right one, on the bill we were charged for both.
K. P.
Friendly service, nice atomosphere and good selection of dishes. Food was nice and the wine list comprehensive. Good for wine enthusiasts i think.
I. B.
Good location, nice atmosphere, attentive and pleasant staff. Food was a bit uninspiring but a huge selection of wine
N. R.
Great section of wins by the glass /bottle, albeit a little on the expensive side. Good food, but best for small dishes and nibbles.
One of the better Wine bars in London.
B. H.
Your wine is fantastic, your chefs are very well trained and your service team are so charming. Thank you for a gorgeous day
M. 1.
Rude manager
Went to this usually nice establishment and was met by slow service and rudeness.
We had been trying to order food for 30mins before that - to no avail and no warning on double booking...finally was approached by the manager thinking we got service - but met with a 15 min WARNING and the waiter (female manager with a red top ) slammed our bill down.
I was entertaining clients so will never use this establishment again.....poor service with a rude twist!
Y. J. (. P.
Food was OK, nothing special. Good location.
Ordered the coley which was a bit bland to be honest but they did give me a free coffee afterwards which was nice of them. Husband had the confit duck which again was OK. I'm sure there are other places which are better....
T. F.
Staff was great. Roasted meat and smoked salmon too.
But the easiest, the cured meat plate is simply the worst one that I have ever seen in London (not difficult to improve though, you can do it !).
M. R.
Great location for eating out or having a snack with your friends. Huge selection of wines, the customer service was far too slow.
N. B.
Amazing food, top wines, great staff...really gorgeous restaurant in a top location...
R. C.
Food and drink always good here, great atmosphere. Had a bit of a sullen waiter on this particular visit, but not the norm.
F. M.
Ask for a seat at the bar if you don't have a reservation - it's fine to eat there. The food was good and the service was great.
C. Y.
Always a great night out. Tasty food from fresh, well sourced ingredients and an amazing selection of wine at competitive prices.
B. S.
Very good restaurant. Although limited choices of main course, food is good quality and reasonably priced. Nice ambience and can sit outside.
P. P.
I visited Vinoteca Kings Cross for the very first time last week. I will certainly be heading back! The food, wine and service were excellent. I could go into lots of detail but instead just go and try it for yourself!
J. B.
Great wine selection with each plate and vegan 'steak' (mushroom) was amazing
A. H.
Solid afterwork spot for dinner in the King's Cross area - menu is good and obviously large selection of wines. Try and make a booking if you can as it can get crowded given limited nearby options.
P. T.
Great atmosphere! Busy but still managed to find a space. Good wine and the bill reasonable
J. F.
Great place - with an emphasis on drinkable wines to pair with excellently produced meat and dependable fish dishes. Neat coffee and seasonal desserts folowed.
a. v.
If you like wine you've got excellent choices here. The food is fine. Service is friendly.
E. F.
Nice wine bar close to the station. Chilled atmosphere and staff are happy to recommend different wines to suit your taste.
J.
Enjoyed a lovely brunch, bank holiday weekend with friends. Eggs Benedict and smoked salmon, followed by a glass of Venetian aperol
We shall be going back next month with family
M. M.
We enjoyed an absolutely delicious meal. Even on a busy Saturday night, the serving staff were very gracious and good.
M. C.
Good food, great time
R. M.
Been once for late wine and nibbles. Good wine recommendations and nibble selection was good too. Nice vibe to the place
E. N.
First time I've ever been. It was delicious and the wines recommended matched the meal perfectly. Will be coming here again
M.
Very friendly and nice service. I was there by myself for three hours. Bartender kept me busy and was really passionate about serving the customers.
A. B.
Lovely "al fresco" set up in this re-vamped part of Kings Cross. Great i can't wait to invite all wine and food lovers in my network. Well done vinoteca, as sn italian this I must say its a wonderful addition to the area
J. M.
Fantastic service , great food !
Pros - food is tasty and well priced
Cons - The drinks aren’t the best prices around this area , a tad bit over priced for my liking !
M. S.
Great food, staff and prices. Nice outside space so feels safe.
H. W.
Would have been 4* for decent food and great service but they charged us
Ten quid for a Bresaiola we didn't order or have. Tut!
G. R.
Probably fine for wine drinkers. Since I'm a beer drinker, the selection was slim and pricy. Not their fault of course, and I was there with colleagues not at my choice.
S. J.
Excellent food. Had the 2 vegetarian main courses and they were both fabulous. Great wine.
R. J.
Fantastic food and an amazing wine list.
F. B.
Great atmosphere and good vibe.
Large seating areas.Nice wines. Very accessible from kings Cross/St Pancras
e. g.
Nice wine bar. Minus one because it's huge and the level of noise is not comfortable when you want a good chat.
D. A.
Busy wine bar located between King's Cross and and St Pancras stations. Good selection of wines and food. Not too expensive.
C. M.
Nice atmosphere and service. Okay food/ menu
M. G.
Good place to go for a drink of you are waiting for a train. A bit more sophisticated than a casual bar with prices a little higher too.
A. T.
My experience was actually pretty pleasant. Very nice and helpful staff, nice atmosphere, good food, will definitely recommend!
O. R.
Very nice wines (even their cheapest ones) and a great location. They serve dry cuts and other bites to go with your wine.
W. W.
Nice view of the open area with the cage. Great selection of wine but overall pretty average place. Nothing really stands out.
