Reviews of Vinoteca Marylebone
H. B.
Vinoteca is a great place for wine and dinner! They have an expansive wine collection (with affordable options) and a great menu. I had the vegan bavette and it was so delicious! Two people I was with got the regular bavette and also said it was great. We had the grilled courgette and croquettes to start. Croquettes were to die for. They have outdoor seating options and the big windows open up for an open indoor environment as well!
R. P.
Food was soo tasty and fresh. The new menu is just amazing. Great selection of wine. Excellent service. Absolute the best restaurant in town. Really recommend to everyone who want to eat quality food and to get fabolous service.
L. C.
Great service. Cool environment. Great setting. Love ❤️❤️❤️
C. S.
My friend and me visited for lunch today, I had the duck liver as a starter from the set menu, and I am so impressed. It was delicious, as everything else. £21 for the set menu is a bargain for the food you serve. We will come back for sure.
A. G.
The place looked really nice, food and wine were really good. The service was really attentive and flexible with us. I recommend!
M. S.
Mediocre food, but set menu priced reasonably. Wines are good. Wine list slightly overwhelming.
M. M.
Had a wonderful evening. The food was spectacular, fresh and delicious. I am not a chef but found the tapas style dishes inviting. Ordered bits and pieces as suggested by the lady with me. We had a great waitress considering the size of the table. Thank you to the manager who endured my repeated changes in numbers for dinner. The smiles and friendliness of the staff created the roght atmosphere. We did not feel anyone intruded on the table but were always there in case we needed something. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone taking picky eaters to dinner. The wine selection is excellent and includes two of my favourite wine countries outside of France. As much as I love local cusine I truly appreciate a well selected wine list that pairs to internationsl cusine.
A. H.
I'd give the wine 5 starts as their wine list was both excellent and extensive. I'd also give the service staff 5 stars because they were attentive and helpful. However, if I was eating just the food I'd give it no more than 2 stars unfortunately. The leg of lamb was served off the bone (I would have liked to get the flavor from the bone as it cooked) and the risotto was too runny.
G. S.
Very comprehensive wine selection, good food, service was good. Pretty much exactly what I was hoping for.
R. C. S.
Lovely beetroot, and the gnocchi were really good. Will repeat
P. H.
Not so crowded Monday.
The appetizer was coming almost too fast.
Smoked mackerel with horseradish, quite good though.
The too cold potatoes don't seem to fit here.
Main dish were Gnocchi.
The goat cheese again little too cold.
Gnocchi little over cooked.
I had no wine but all the other guest had.
Moderate pricing.
If you like Stilton, try the Stichelton.
Great cheese
c. l.
3stars as the waiter was really nice.
Food is OK, nothing special
Wine is overpriced
A. Y.
Very long list of wines including organic and natural with a nice outdoor table as well. Service is friendly and charcuterie is quite good; all for a reasonable price. Bottles of wine are about 2x retail and glasses of wine are quite varied as well.
K. A.
Lovely place to have a nice glass of wine and not only wine
E. S.
Nice atmosphere, good service, tasty food. Presentation of dishes a bit messy but taste was great.
R. T.
Excellent food, excellent service. We will definitely come back.
O. T.
Food was delicious ! Atmosphere is really like in a French wine bar !
G. G.
#24.09.29# - great food at a reasonable price (set menu is an excellent deal). Staff were welcoming and attentive with good customer service skills, although overworked (2 servers for the whole place). Have visited Vinoteca in other locations and will definitely do so again.
S. P.
Such a nice neighbourhood reataurant with a good wine (&beer) selection, and really delicious food. We had such a satisfying lunch of steak and gnocchi outside in the sun. Thank you!
A. R.
Steak was so soft melted in my mouth. Lovely food wonderful wine collection. Friendly staff.
A. S.
Had dinner there last night for a birthday dinner for 12, and it was a really wonderful night. The food was delicious, arrived and quickly and all together + the waiting staff were incredibly attentive and helpful with out being over intrusive. Also had a chat with head chef Simon, what a lovely bloke. Would highly recommend this place.

My wife and I ate on a packed Monday. Perched at the end of the bar, we had a selection of small plates and one main dish. The dishes were robust, flavoursome and perfectly executed. We tried a selection of the wines by the glass, you could drink very reasonably but we were having fun and so tried some of the gorgeous, but more expensive wines by the glass. The staff were engaging, knowledgeable and fun. Best evening out this year.

Three of us arrived on a Saturday evening without a booking and were seated immediately without fuss. Great food menu and even better wine menu. But, whilst the food was reasonably priced, the wines may place a strain on your wallet: they offer only premium wines and the cheapest are about £30 per bottle.
I found the table service excellent - friendly and helpful. The menu was innovative and portion size was ample - unless you are ravenous you may be struggling to finish a starter, a main and side serving of vegetables.
Complimentary WiFi - ask for password.
M. L.
Lovely local wine bar, restaurant and bottle shop. The express lunch is fabulous value and the extensive wine list never fails to impress. We'll worth a visit.
K. G.
We got here right after work on a Thursday night, not too many others. 2 bottles of wine later, it was jammed and they were turning people away. Fun atmosphere, attentive waiter. Our second-to-cheapest red wine selection was £24 for the bottle and had a good flavour and body.
T. R.
Can’t get enough of this place. Amazing wine selection. The steak with triple cooked chips is divine. Their house white wine, which they also do take away is great. And they’ll give you a pound back if you return the bottle. Staff has always being very nice. It is a must go place. And the location is even better.
J. M.
I love that they pair a wine selection to the dishes on their menu. My husband and I went on a Saturday night and it was very busy - in fact at times it felt like they were quite short-staffed. However, the food was all excellent and reasonably priced for the quality.
K. S.
Went along last night for a truly memorable five course "celebration of spring" supper club hosted by the Chef, Simon Conyers. The venue has a private dining room in the basement which comfortably held the 14 or so guests - our waitress, Sarah, made looking after a reasonably raucous crowd seem far too easy! The menu was delicious, didn't break the bank and was extremely well thought through. Each course was presented with an explanation of the provenance - something that is clearly important to the Chef - and choice of ingredients which I thought was a nice touch. If this is something that they look to roll out on an ongoing basis, its well worth an evening of your time.
R. L.
It had been a while since I'd been to a Vinoteca but when a friend and fellow wine/food enthusiast was in London I thought it was a good chance to visit again. I was not disappointed. We were there on a Monday so when ordering a starter and main the bottles are at their 'shop price' freeing us up to make a more interesting selection than we might otherwise allow. The bavette steak was sublime - truly faultless. Dessert was fantastic too and between us we shared their 'liquid dessert' - a flight of different sweet moscato from 3 different countries. It evened out at £50 a head for 3 courses inc. wine and service which we felt was cracking value for a great, relaxing dinner.
D. P.
A few friends of mine and I recently came here for dinner and upon arrival, were met with a warm and friendly greeting by the manager Tiziano. He was only to kind to take the time to show us some of his favourite picks from a number of small wine producers, telling background stories on all of them. We took a recommendation from him and we’re delighted with the outcome. The table service was impeccable as was the food and we could only thank Tiziano and his team for making it a 5 star experience for us all. Would highly recommend a visit here, it’s a charming little find in what feels like a bijou village neighbourhood.
M. W.
Went for Saturday lunch. Very quiet. Had their special Cornish mackeral. Big plus at lunchtime is that they sell their bottles of wine at shop prices. So we had to take advantage of this! Returned in the evening for the same bottle as a nightcap and it cost us twice as much!
C. T.
Very nice wine selection, super good to go prices. Great food. Service is top notch, especially Marina.
G. B.
If you like wine and cheese, Vinoteca is a place you should know.
Vinoteca in Marylebone - wine shop, wine bar and restaurant - is just a few steps from Marble Arch. With its warm wooden colours, Vinoteca is welcoming with a great, lively and down-to-earth atmosphere.
I popped in on my way home on a Monday evening to make the most of London Wine Week, and the place was buzzing. One of their offerings was a sparkling white from England - an opportunity I could not miss to finally try English wine.
While sitting there and eating a delicious Caerphilly cheese board, I was offered a taster of an English wine called Element 20. The English sparkling wine wine was nice, but this white, mineralic and with a strong taste, was a much better match for the cheese. The Element 20 and the cheese was a perfect combination that I should keep in mind for my next visit.
I got the impression that the people at Vinoteca know a fair bit about their wines and their food. No question, I will be back for a full dinner!

Great lunch venue,Bavette steak was excellent, perfectly cooked, highly recommend
S. H.
Food was okay, nothing overly special, but a lovely atmosphere if you are a drinker (I'm not).
S. R.
Had dinner here recently and the food was absolutely superb! The staff were delightful and also very knowledgeable when it came to pairing wine with the food.
N. C.
First meal after lockdown and brilliant! Food, wine and service superb. Don't often suggest 5 stars.
c. c.
Great service, nice atmosphere, lovely wine. The reason they lost a star for me was because we ordered arancini and they were absolutely tiny. Would still go back though
A. M.
I typically try to avoid chain wine bars as I find them to be far too much like All Bar Ones - standard generic wine selection, somewhat apathetic wait staff, and a poor excuse for food. Now, there is nothing wrong with going to a chain if your purpose is to chat with a large group with a pint in hand, as so may after work do's are. But when it's a quiet dinner with some friends over a choice glass of wine, then there are better options.
However, my cousin had raved about this place so I thought I'd try to keep an open mind and check it out. I can admit (somewhat grudgingly) when I'm wrong, and in this case I was very happy to be. Vinoteca Soho breaks out of the mold of chain restaurants from the start with an elegant subdued design that encourages a feeling of intimacy despite being crowded together in tables. There seems to be an implied no-standing policy which helps reduce congestion and the upstairs dining area is considerably more spread out.
The staff are very friendly from the greeting at the door to taking your coats (upstairs only) and guiding you to your seat. Our waiter doubled as our sommelier and proved he had the skills to recommend both food and wine. After perusing the menu for a bit, I couldn't decide and asked for a full bodied spicy red. The glass he brought me met my request perfectly and I happily sipped away in his care for the rest of the evening.
Food wise, I also went with his recommendation of the bavette (skirt steak) which boasted a seared crust yet left more than half in a deep pink colour that gushes delicious juice. The thick cut chips are tasty but nothing spectacular. I'd highly recommend a side of colcannon with anything as they make one of the best this side of Dublin.
Sadly, my companions were too stuffed for dessert so I can't comment, but rest assured the next time I'm back I'll definitely go for it! Overall, hats off to Vinoteca Soho for breaking free of its chain-based start and really making something out of itself.
G. D.
Nice restaurant but like a lot of places in London far too noisy when it gets busy. Go early mid week for a more pleasant atmosphere. Not recommended for a business meeting.
B. A.
A quiet tucked away wine bar offering a selection of wines from different parts of the world. Happy hour ends at 1800 however wines offered for this time are pretty ordinary.
K. N.
Lunchtime menu offers excellent value for money. A great wine list, attentive staff and a nice atmosphere make this hostelry well worth a visit.
K. J.
