Reviews of Where The Pancakes Are
J. F.
I was only here for an hour because the place is so busy and popular. There is the pressure for staff to get people in and out ! I had the savoury pancakes with salmon and spanish latte. The pancakes were delicious, latte was cold so the waiter topped it up with milk which took away the sweetness but 10 for effort.
Overall worth a visit if you want to try.
My food and drink cost around £18.
H. G.
Lovely brunch place, especially if you are a pancake lover. The service was great- our server was tall with short blonde hair and absolutely lovely!! The portions are okay, coffee is good and prices are standard. I recommend
I. F.
Booked here for lunch before heading to the Menier Chocolate Factory down the road. It was a Sunday and we had booked well in advance which was essential as we heard there was an hour's wait if you were simply living off hope. Had the pastrami pancake laden with the cheddar cheese. The whole package was tasty and well presented. My Jamaican Hibiscus Cooler drink was a tremendous choice. It may have looked like a souped up Ribena but the taste was straight outta Georgetown. Great service and lovely atmosphere inside. Highly recommended and recommended you book on a Sunday.
R. S.
The pancakes at this restaurant are amazing. We picked a savoury & sweet dish and neither of them disappointed.
The baked beans with the breakfast dish are the best beans we have ever had.
We sat outside in October, but with the over head heating and blankets provided we didn’t feel cold.
E. B.
Really nice staff, fantastic pancakes and the prices are really good considering how generous the portions are. Definitely recommend to all pancake loving people 🙂
S. N.
The pear pancakes were really delicious and the service was speedy. However the wait time to get the tables were long. Not many outdoor seating choices, as there used to be during my previous visits. Also, very small portion size.
A. S.
Booked a table with a request for outdoor but was seated indoor with lots of passing people. They said outdoor was for tables of 4 only. During our meal numerous tables were either empty or had 2 people only.
On the flip side - Phenomenal, fluffy pancakes.
Warning: On the Sunday we went, without a booking they were telling people there was 1 hour 45 minute wait for a table!
L. A.
My friend and I really enjoyed this place. We recommend the Dutch baby and the Hummingbird. Pancakes were super fluffy and cheapest one starts at £8. We have to go back for more! The staff were so responsive and accommodating. They took their time to recommend things for us. They also immediately offered a baby seat when they saw my baby and I. Loved it we will head there again!
W. D.
Third time visiting and pancakes taste better and better each time. One of the best pancake places in London for anyone who loves pancakes whether you like them savoury or sweet
E. B.
Great food and lovely helpful staff who are very knowledgable about allergens. I was able to enjoy one of there delicious special made with there vegan and gluten free batter. Tasted amazing with brilliant texture for gluten free. And they were able to substitute topping to make them dairy free like the wonderful creme fresh. Thoroughly enjoyed it, really recommend for a cute brunch location with delicious food!

Amazing breakfast and a great place to enjoy a quick coffee around London Bridge. The staff there were super friendly and they have accomodated us quite quickly for just a ealk-in. Extra tip: make sure to make a reservation as it takes a bit longer for walk-ins to get a table.
G. L.
Very nice soft and thick pancakes with lots of choices for savory and sweet topping. I ordered the Royal with two egg benedict, the egg yolks is so rich and creamy! The vibe is also very good to sit outdoor in the yard.
B. M.
Great little place. Good food, friendly staff, nice interior. Food came out quickly and was delicious. Price was a bit expensive, but that's ok. Only complaint was the size of the venue, it was a bit small. Would definitely go back again.
A. S.
Pan cakes were really nice however the matcha latte was not really good.
Ambience = 9/10
Food = 8/10
Value for Money = 7/10
T. L.
Pancakes were okay, I had the English breakfast so can only comment on that. It was decent. One of the waiters( who was not our main waiter) had a bit of an attitude when bringing an order. There were two orders of the same meal, but one was gluten free. He didn't seem to get that we needed to identify which one was which in order to prevent an allergic reaction. It all got sorted but he was terribly rude in his mannerisms. Our main waiter though was an Asian man who was polite and friendly.
In this kind of economy where your charging 10-13 quid for pancakes it's not much to ask for a decent meal minus attitude.
O. L.
Lovely brunch spot in London Bridge. We ordered a Forest Berries Pancake, American Pancake and a Beetroot Latte. All food was 10/10 and the atmosphere is really nice during brunch hours. The staff were also friendly aswell. I'll definitely be coming back again!
A. S.
We've been here twice in two months and it 100% lives up to the hype. Pancakes are out of this world! Also the drinks selection is really good. Ginger tumeric latte with saffron flower sounds a bit hipstery but it's genuinely delish.
Both times we've been served by lovely Gina (hope I spelled that right) who is as down to earth and personable as you can get. I want to be her friend!
This has become one of our firm favourite spots, we will be back soon for sure.
I. F.
Lovely pancakes and very friendly staff.
We went without a reservation on a Saturday and was seated within 50 min. They had an app to tell us when our table was ready! Super cool.
Sadly there was no tables inside and it was a bit chilly outside. They did however have blankets and heating lamps.
T. S.
My friend and I were dying for pancakes and found this gem in the city. If you don’t book before then be prepared to queue and could wait awhile for a table. Our wait was over a hour but you could go for a walk and come back. The pancakes delivered and there are so many choices including a batter for people who suffer from gluten intolerances. I would recommend this 👍🏼
C. C.
Amazing breakfast and a great place to enjoy a coffee and pancakes around London Bridge. The staff there were super friendly - Can highly reccomend to anyone within the area. TIP: Make sure you book a reservation at weekends as it does get busy.
H. J.
We had a lovely breakfast on late Sunday morning. The pancakes are seriously good with lovely toppings and Royale is amazing. Good service as well. I'm giving 4 stars only because they sat someone else with a similar name, on our booking and we had to wait further 10 minutes for another table to be vacated even after we received the message that our table is ready. They should check the booking message confirmation before seating someone.
But overall a good experience and would definitely return.
T. A.
Loved their take on pancakes. Went with my wife and kids and we weren't dissapointed.
O. D.
Great place for breakfast, lovely staff and food! It get a bit busy and you might have to wait for a table.
R. D.
Service was abit slow but understandable during the pandemic.
Staff are very friendly and offered us free drinks for the wait.
Food wise I had the English breakfast with pancakes. The maple syrup and pancakes are pretty tasty but I felt like the rest lacked taste.
Overall will definitely come again to try the other sweet pancakes but not the savory ones.
C. S.
I had one of the most pleasant experiences in this place, super nice staff, tasty food with impeccable ingredients, the place, the presentation of the dishes, excellent. Highly recommended, the only restaurant where you can find American style pancakes in London. I loved it.
F. C.
Amazing food and super friendly staff. Literally can't think of a way to improve my experience.
Very thick pancakes with perfect bacon, not too crispy not too soft.
P. A.
Portions a small. Long queues so book in advance. Overall the pancakes are good. A wide range of hot and cold beverages.
B. G.
I was very much looking forward to this place as a belated birthday brunch but frankly was entirely disappointed. It's OK. Nothing more but OK.
I'm a huge fan of American style pancakes when done well, they're fluffy and delicious but these were stodgy. More like the batter they came from than what you'd get in any self-respecting American joint. Or even cooked at home with a little care and attention.
The bacon was weedy and not crispy, the avocado was so loaded with lemon that you could hardly taste the avo, the tomatoes were cheap and flavourless and all in all, it was underwhelming.
I have a standard rule, if the food isn't good for you, it had better be darned good and this just wasn't.
On a positive note, the coffees were very tasty! The pumpkin latte was particularly good.
If you're a big fan of the pancake breakfast, I'd avoid this place, plenty of better brunch joints in town.
C. V.
As a self-proclaimed connoisseur of pancakes, I must admit that these pancakes are the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, with the best toppings - bacon, blueberry and maple syrup. The location is lovely and you can now book in advance, which I’d recommend if you do not want to be queueing for hours for a table! I can’t wait to come back 😊
l. s.
Beautiful Pancake Day meal with friendly, attentive service despite being busy. Kudos to the staff for delicious food and a pleasant experience all round.
C. K.
We tried for a Sunday morning & the waitress was so good & tried to fit us in but we said we’d come back Tuesday @ 9am. We had the place to ourselves for the first 15 mins. The pancake dough is made with buttermilk & dough starter, so is super tasty. Order an extra, especially if your meal only includes 1. We has pear with caramel & banana & caramel & both were superb. Of special mention- the pretty beetroot latte.
K. R.
We 'walked in' and luckily got seated promptly. The servers were friendly and welcoming (especially the guy from Liverpool). Food was tasty. Accommodated the kids superbly. Good sized portions but the lost star is for the massively overpriced orange-juice.
E. C.
A great brunch experience with beautiful decor.
Had the English breakfast pancake set and switched out the beans for the kale slaw.
Pancakes were fluffy and tasty. The sausage was a little on the drier and tough side otherwise everything was great. A good amount that’s going to fill you up but not leaving you feel like you need to be rolled out!
Tip: if you have the WalkUp app and are close by enough, you can virtually queue before you get there!
H. A.
Truly nailed the art of pancakes. You can feel the passion that goes into refining this food. They have a wide variety of pancakes to cover all types of diet or taste. Friendly staff, great coffee, and reasonable prices. Well worth it for any meal of the day!
M. T.
Service and the food was great! Our pancakes were so fluffy and delicious! Fresh orange juice is to die for haha! We were served by Kevin and he was very friendly right from the start. We felt welcomed and will definitely come back again :)
E. P.
Plenty of vegetarian options (lots of the dishes including meat have a Veggie option), and vegan pancakes too. Really delicious and lovely chilled out atmosphere.
S. O.
Lots of savoury options in addition to some more unusual sweet combinations (see basil marshmallow). Very well presented and tasty!
l.
It was so difficult to choose! There are many different and interesting options to choose from! We had the Royal, The Pear and caramel and the beef brisket with the gherkin!
E. S.
Went to have brunch on this day.
Had an incredible set of choices for savoury and sweet pancakes.
Pancakes were great, so as the bacon, other toppings were just okay.
Coffees were nice.
A bit overpriced for what you get.
Service was okay.
M. S.
The place has great views of the Shard and very nice interior. However, the pancakes were disappointing. I ordered the berry forest and they were salty, with barely any fruit? I had high hopes for the place which were not met.
S. R.
Delicious American pancakes and other options. Really busy and no privacy as you’re usually seated on the same table with others.
H. F. R.
Good variety of different pancakes from savoury to sweet. Inclusive menu for meat eaters and vegans alike. Prices are steep. Staff are friendly and attentive. Decor is lovely. Always buys so book in advance.
C. A.
Food was good, very tasty pancakes though when it got a little busy orders took the toll. Eventually the food came and i was not disappointed.
Y.
Pancakes were good, however there looked to unfortunately be only one chef in the kitchen which really Impacted the speed of service. We had to wait a little while for food although when it did arrive it was delicious. In regards to customer service the servers were nice however did seem rather clueless at times.
C. C.
Lovely service and very clean. The pancakes were tasty, but the ratio of extra ingredients was a little off. Would definitely recommend the Mexican hibiscus lime cooler!
D. G.
The best pancake I’ve ever had! Only downside is opening hours. Wish they had later closing times on weekdays too
A. A.
Great place for gluten free people. Great service lovely atmosphere and delicious food :)
T. T.
If you enjoy fluffy American pancakes, then this is where you need to be. The pancakes here are perfect. Both vegan and non-vegan pancakes are available with a range of sweet and savoury toppings. I had the poached pear with sea salted caramel and almonds - it came with one pancake but I ordered an extra x2 and it was worth it!
The staff are very friendly here and knowledgeable about the menu. The outdoor seating is heated, but still chilly on a windy day. Will definitely be returning here for brunch when indoor dining re-opens.
V. K.
Excellent food and service! Best place for pancakes in London.
K.
Food was amazing! The only downside was the waiting time - we had to wait around 40 minutes to be served what we ordered.
However staff was really friendly and professional!
K. G.
Fantastic pancakes - fresh and perfect blend of flavours. My pancake based on corn fritters with avocado, fresh cream and lemon zest was amazing. Its a small place with seatings below / outdoors better than ones upstairs
B. V.
Our experience was fab. Very wide range of choices : vegan/vegetarian friendly, savoury as well as sweet pancakes for everyone. The pancakes were fluffy and really tasty. They also provide some blankets and heating lamps above your head. The staff was really nice and helpful.
D. P.
Absolutely delicious pancakes - we shared one sweet, on savoury - the sweet were the best. Salted caramel, banana, caramel nuts, marshmallow…. ONFG. Would have been 5 stars but they ran out of bacon on the day (a sin for a pancake house!) and forgot my daughters meal / didn’t hear her order.
k. p.
Loved it! It is pancake heaven and the food was sublime, the service friendly and fast and... momma loved the latte's, she had 2!!
Best latte I ever had she declared!
Mum had pear and salted caramel pancake and it was perfect. I had Royal and the eggs were poached to a bright orange runny!! My son had the full English and the beans were magnificent! Yorkshire sausages, crispy bacon and maple syrup!!! He was blown away.
We were full from breakfast all through the day!
Eat here, you won't regret it!!
We liked it so much we took home their pancake flour!
V. G.
I highly reccomend this place. The staff has been incredibly attentive from beginning to end. We truly felt cared for and the food was just PERFECT.
If you're around, you should go, even if busy, it is worth the wait.
N. M.
Amazing from start to finish. Recommend booking a table as they are very busy. The food and service was fab, our waitress was very chatty and polite. Will be visiting again
K. E.
Amazing pancakes and coffee. Really nice location, walking distance to many tourist attractions.
The music was a bit too loud for my liking. Other than that everything was really nice
C. M.
Absolutely delicious pancakes. Great menu! This place is well worth a visit and if there is a queue, it's well worth the wait. Will definitely go back. The staff are wonderful as well, friendly and warm.
FYI, has outdoor seating with heaters and blankets and also caters for Vegans.
T. Y.
Thoroughly enjoyed our Saturday Brunch here [went during Outdoor only dining]. Great food, friendly+accommodating staff, great cocktails. In particular: The 'Dutch Baby' pancake with Neals Yard Cheddar and Goats cheese WAS HEAVENLY. 5 adults (1x cocktail each), 4 children came to £200. In short: RECOMMEND.
N. F.
Delicious pancakes and really good service! Everything is so fresh and modish! Make sure you book in advance on the weekends.
H. L.
Quick service, yummy pancakes and awesome staff.
Ordered: Drinks - hibiscus flower tea and matcha-oat latte. Food: American pancakes (banana and bacon) and forest berries pancakes.
I went for breakfast with a friend and enjoyed every minute of it, from the aesthetic of the place, to the food and drinks selections and the friendly staff. I had read about the long wait times and queues so decided to get there when the doors open and was seated right away. I loved the cozy feeling of the place and plenty of seating - both indoor and outdoor. I know they have reduced their menu after the lockdown, but there was still enough variety. The pancakes were thick American style with lots of flavor.
Overall loved the experience and would definitely be returning.
R. J.
Food and service was lovely! The decor was really nice and modern too with a very good taste of music playing in the shop 👏🏾
J. M.
Wow. Honestly, wow! Pancakes food and all the staff were so friendly and personable. Wish I could live near by!
l. l.
This was found through google map to give a try! Surprisingly that I could see queues outside when arriving at 1030am. With the lots of ppl eating happily, decided to wait. Only waited for 10min, with a group of 4 in front. We were assigned to a table outdoor where the waiter is so sweet to put a hairy mattress on the chair for us to sit. This definitely warm us during the breeze.
Opened the menu, a lot of 10+ different pancakes are offered! While reading the
Menu, the waiter is so nice to help us ordered the drinks first. We then ordered immediately when we identify what we ordered.
I have ordered the pancake with blueberries and Sausage, which I guess one of the light one already! My hubby ordered the all day breakfast, his one is very rich and keep ‘full’ for the whole day!!
The coffee ordered is very good smell with real coffee smell! Using very good coffee beans! The texture of pancake is not too soft, also not too hard, with milk , egg, butter well-balanced. Together with the blue berries, the whole dish becomes very fresh especially for breakfast!
While we having our breakfast, queues comes longer and longer! Grab your chance to have a try!! 😊
T. C.
Great choice of pancakes, savoury and sweet. Good coffee and good service
O.
A cute play on words with interesting selections of pancakes and vibrant lattes. 2 downfall for me was that the latte wasn't latte but more of a cappuccino and my sweet pancake was quite plain, pretty normal to be honest.
Nice place to eat for meeting up with friends, many outdoor and indoor seating and tables. Overall was good as my friends enjoyed their food
M. D.
Just brilliant! The most important bit - the pancakes - are fantastic. My wife had a sweet one (with the gluten free batter) and I had the pastrami. Both were absolutely brilliant. The garnishes/sides were so good and the dishes really well balanced. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and were so attentive. The covid measures are excellent and there's loads of outside (and indoors) seating.
I can see why it's so popular. Great coffee too.
R. R.
Amazing food, staff excellent a little crowded but with the service we received willing to put up with being cosy. Book ahead of time as there was always a queue waiting for a seat
D. M.
This was an absolutely worth while experience! I wish the cocktail list was bigger, however the sharing platter absolutely blew me away. the kimchi with the cottage cheese was absolutely delicious
L. C.
this place totally deserves its hype. these are the fluffiest buttermilk pancakes I've ever had. both the All American and the English Breakfast were top notch. couldn't leave without sharing a sweet one too!
B. C.
Staff really friendly, food amazing, just seating is a little cramped but highly recommended.
D. C.
Excellent. Staff polite and friendly. Food was lovely and served promptly with a large variety of options available. Highly recommend. (Ordered the American pancakes and strawberry pancakes)
s. s.
A bit overpriced overall the pancakes are great and staff friendly, unfortunately the wait times are very long not only for table but after ordering we waited quite a while
A. B.
Highly recommend coming to Where The Pancakes Are if you love excellent food and even better service. We were made to feel so welcome and all the staff were incredibly friendly. Will be back!
M. K.
One of the best gluten-free and vegan pancake places in London. Queues can be quite long on the weekend but the wait wasn’t too bad for us and definitely worth it. The food arrived quite fast and service was really good. We went with the boulder and royal breakfast and both were stellar. The vegan pancakes are light and fluffy and the hardest part is to choose between all the savory and sweet options!
P. A.
Very friendly staff who were happy to provide recommendations. The Spanish Latte was very tasty, mimosas a bit overpriced.
Pancakes were fluffy and filling - good portion sizes, well priced and we left satisfied. Of course aesthetically pleasing too, definitely attracts an Instagram crowd but for a good reason. Recommend booking as they were pretty crowded and the queues for walk-ins looked lengthy.
H. y. S.
Very decent pancakes though a tad bit expensive. Do try to get a reservation in advance as this place is pretty packed (and small!). Like many others before me.. I would recommend a sweet and savoury combination and this place whips up a mean avocado spread.
If you're feeling adventurous, the turmeric and beetroot latte is worth a shot!
J. R.
This place is mint!! Incredible breakfast/ brunch dishes. Good ingredients, generous portions, well cooked, tasty and fresh. Staff are lovely too. Highly recommend. Would probably be best to book at peak times.
L. C.
Amazing super fluffy pancakes !! Definitely worth a visit :)! The Pancakes are super tasty with large choice of sweet and salted options. For sweet ones, I recommend the one with pineapple, lime and pomegranate it was delicious. The only problem you will have to queue - we went there on a rainy Saturday afternoon and we waited more than 30 minutes !
P. C.
I keep returning to this spot because it is a consistently great experience. The food is fantastic, and the staff are as friendly as ever.
Very busy at weekends, so book ahead if you can!
M. M.
Great place and with really tasty food. The staff were informative and provided great service.
k. s.
Cute little breakfast place. It’s small so you will probably have to wait, but I would say it’s worth it.
The Spanish latte and Spanish cortado were pretty and quite good.
I liked the hummingbird pancakes (you can chose between one or two pancakes on most of the dishes). The lime zest added great flavor. I loved the side of grilled halloumi. Nice side option!
The service was very friendly and efficient.
L. F.
Honestly one of the best pancakes I’ve had in London. I think the price is slightly too high but you will definitely get full from it (and I eat a lot). There is a lot of variety both sweet and savoury. I had the one with berries and meringue and it was amazing. But I’ve tried the Royal (smoked salmon, eggs and hollandaise sauce) and it’s heaven. The tea is a bit pricey in my opinion but the more “hipster” coffees such as turmeric or matcha lattes are very well priced. The interior is absolutely lovely, just like the staff, but if busy it can get a bit loud. They also offer seating outside, so a very good spot for the summer as well.
J. J.
Service is impeccable pancakes are delicious. Our server had such great attention to detail and with their knowledge of the menu meant you can really tell they care about the food they make there. My personal preference is the buttermilk pancake batter but the vegan one is surprisingly tasty too
M. K.
Decent fluffy pancakes, but my brother's were overdone and he didn't enjoy them, nor the meringue flakes. The menu is a bit expensive for portion size (£16.5 for ours). Friendly staff and overall nice atmosphere.
S. S.
The place is run by a group of very warm, friendly and inclusive people. The pancakes were perfect, they looked straight out of a dream and tasted like heaven. I would recommend the place for a quaint breakfast to find some peace. :)
Recommend booking ahead as the place attracts a lot of people and the waiting times could be more than an hour.
L. D.
Lovely food, very filling. A little pricey, though.
S. B.
We arrived around 11am. Queue outside took about 45 mins in the rain with no shelter, however the staff did provide us with umbrellas. The food took a further 20 mins to arrive. We ordered strawberries pancakes (vegan option) and hummingbird pancakes (normal option). This was my first time ever trying pancakes, and it was nice to find a place with vegan options due to my allergies. I was a little underwhelmed, the vegan ones were definitely not as good and fluffy as the normal ones, not was the taste as good. My friend absolutely loved hers, said the pancakes had the perfect texture and taste. The presentation was amazing, the service was friendly. My hot chocolate was also underwhelming, was very watery with little taste. My friend's cappuccino was perfect. The bill came in cute little books. Overall my experience was 3/5, my friend's was 5/5, hence the 4/5 rating.
D. w. D.
The service is awesome and the menu is on point. The food was yum! The only downside is the wait time for the food. It’s my second time here and expect to wait around 45 mins to get the dish. It’s sunny outside today, so it was nice being outside whilst waiting :)
Y. M.
Favourite spot for a Saturday lunch - customer service is exceptional with Azzy and her friendly colleagues making each visit an absolutely enjoyable experience. Azzy never forgets my usual order and always makes sure that I have my granola and mocha just the way I like it!
Keep coming back and you might even get your food on the house one day! 😍
R.
I mean if you want nice fluffy soft pancakes this is the place to visit! It was definitely worth the wait!
Loved it!
P. P.
I can honestly say this is not what I was expecting when someone said let's get pancakes for lunch! This place is a real hidden gem. Great food and really fast service. Highly recommend it if you're anywhere near London Bridge.
B. R. W.
The restaurant was nice, big table outside, plenty of spaces. The staffs were friendly. I like Spanish latte but Apple juice wasn’t fresh and I think mine was a bit off. The Apple juice was getting fizzy and sour. I didn’t complain as it’s not totally off so wasn’t sure. Pancakes was big but a bit pricey and nothing special.
K. M.
Pros: Youthful, good vibe, polite service, good brunch spot.
Cons: Queues, not much variety (but then again it's a pancake cafe...!), don't waste money on savoury - go straight to dessert.
This gem of a place is tucked away in Flat Iron Square. As a lover of brunch I just had to visit! Savoury pancakes and then followed by sweet pancakes? Of course!
Ordered the veggie halloumi to start with which was nice, nothing spectacular. I do wish they served it with 2 eggs rather than 1. Onto dessert we ordered the salted caramel / basil and the berry pancakes.
The berry pancakes were fairly standard and average, unfortunately the fruit was clearly frozen and quite bitter. The quality of the actual pancakes however was consistently excellent.
The salted caramel with bananas and basil marshmallows were the real deal. Lovely flavour including the scrumptious green marshmallows.
I would most likely come again, but only order a pancake for dessert.
N. M.
Amazing pancakes but ridiculous queue, the best thing to do is to come out your name on the list, then go for a coffee or Borough Market in the meantime.
We waited for 45 minutes but the pancakes were really good
E. J.
Fab but you MUST BOOK. Absolutely wonderful food but walk-in waiting times are often huge! We arrived today and were told that there could be anywhere between 10-30 minute wait to be seated due to the cafe being full but told it often gets as long as an hour wait - no option to reserve a table and come back was offered as queue was large. We had plenty of time and were a party of 2 so decided to wait, there is no shelter or seating so if its cold its not ideal. We were however seated within 10 minutes by a very friendly waitress.
Food was superb and quick. Range of dietary options including vegan, gluten free and wheat free.
V. S.
Hidden gem! Pancakes were delicious!!! Perfect brunch … exactly what you need on a chilled Sunday!! Sweet & savory!
C. W.
A great pancake shop with highchair for the little ones. The presentation was amazing and it tastes great. It is a bit hipster as you receive your receipt in a book along with any change if you pay in cash this just annoyed my partner as it went everywhere.
H. K.
Exciting menu with both sweet and savory options. Really delicious fluffy pancakes. Good coffee. I liked that the beans on the veggie breakfast were homemade and not Heinz! We went for Saturday brunch at 10/11ish and as a popular place there was a queue to get in, we were told there was a 15 min wait to sit but actually they sat us within 5 minutes which was great.
They were accommodating for my toddler, although there was no baby change facilities on site we were shown some to some close by.
We all enjoyed our choices, only thing I would change would be that the nut brittle with the banana pancakes be crushed so you could eat it with the pancakes, rather than in a lump on the side to gnaw on.
D. L.
Some of the best pancakes ever. Staff are super accommodating, and the food generally comes really quickly. The space is small, but it's a nice environment. The dishes are also really unique combinations for pancakes-- so definitely worth a go!
M. M.
A lengthy queue to get in for a morning brunch but absolutely worth the wait. The menu is crowded with delicious options and all are worth trying out. The pancakes were especially fluffy and delicious.
D. T.
My favourite pancake spot hands down used to be MOAK Pancakes in Amsterdam but this place has taken the crown.
The pancakes were so light and fluffy, not overly sweet the texture was just to die for. I never expected the pancake and halloumi combination to work but boy was I wrong this is one of the best combos I’ve had with pancakes.
Service was 10/10 and our waiter was extremely attentive, I’ll be back here for sure.

Arrived on Sunday around 12:40pm. 40min wait time. But so worth it!! We had 1000 baby greens + poached egg, and for dessert, forest berries + maple syrup. Perfect pancakes. (Poached egg is a bit cold, probably pre-made, so will leave that out next time).
C. C.
Really nice pancakes, I highly recommend.
A. C.
Nice outdoor space, big menu, tasty! But had to share a table with another group- we were distanced enough which is fine, but because of the layout and bench seating we had get up and out of the way anytime they wanted to leave the table. Also £5.50 for a small glass of orange juice?!
N. S.
The food was great and the service even better. We had a wonderful weekday brunch here and would definitely make it a point to go back if we are in the area again.
A. N.
Really cute place with very good pancakes and Maple syrup! Staff was lovely. Would recommend booking (what I did) to avoid any queue as it’s quite popular!
T. K.
Friendly service with a smile, savoury pancakes are so delicious as much as sweet ones. We’ll definitely go back !
T. N.
Fantastic food. Great service. Great coffee. Get here early and there is no queue (even on a weekend). But if you get here mid morning til mid afternoon expect 40 min wait.
S. S.
Really recommended pancake house of a much higher quality than the usual mediocrity of the surrounding area. I would go for classics like the triple stack of Blueberry pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. The modern inventions were a mixed bag. I found the 'baked' Dutch pancake special was a very odd invention that looked and tasted exactly like a large Yorkshire pudding. Pass on that one. Great cosy environment with friendly staff. I'll be back!
J. L.
A great selection on their menu and they all sounded delicious. I ordered the breakfast with pancakes and it didn't disappoint at all. My friend was able to order dairy-free pancakes and she really enjoyed her food here. Overall a really relaxing and satisfied experience.
C. W.
The pancakes and the team are great at this place, but unfortunately, the playlist is a bit of a letdown. As iconic as Uncle Johnny Cash is - I'm out here trying to get my maple syrup on, I do not want to be reminded about how depressed I am. x
M. M.
Ok I give it to you the decor is nice and the food is decent but does that worth queueing 40 minutes in the cold on a Sunday morning? Hell no. I had the special with pulled pork that day and was ok but nothing out of this world and pulled pork was way too dry same for the mini Dutch pancake. So would I go back? Hmmm realistically no except maybe if I am in the neighborhood on a weekday morning.
J. S.
Great building. Service was a little awkward. Pancakes were cooked a bit too quickly. Outside charred whilst inside a bit stodgy. Toppings were excellent.
S. g.
This is one of my favourite pancake places in London.. you have options of weird pancake mixes .. my favourite are the poached pear caramel or the vegan autumn bowl the Boulder breakfast
A. O.
Nice little place tucked into the corner of Flatiron Square. The pancakes taste very good and there's plenty of options to choose from. A tad pricey but very trendy and stylish all the same. The staff was very polite and the restaurant itself was light and airy. We got the basic pancakes (salted caramel and lemon & sugar) which tasted very good but considering they cost six pounds I expected a bit more. But maybe that's just my uncultured opinion, who knows? We went only twenty minutes or so after opening hours on Saturday and were one of the last people to get a table without queueing so plan the time of your visit carefully in case you want to check this place out. They do take reservations but during a weekday morning I doubt one would be necessary.
f. f.
Food is delicious and portions are big, but the service is extremely slow and quite rude (all beside one, the blond scot), they got out order wrong and when we told the staff they were very dismissive and acted like we were a bother. Prices are a bit too high for the kind of place it is.
L. T.
We came in to share one pancake, ended up eating 3! They have a nice selection of sweet and savoury pancakes as well as the oven backed Dutch ones. The place is nicely furnished and very welcoming.
K. S.
The food here is absolutely amazing. My friend who I took had never had pancakes for breakfast before and declared it the best breakfast she had ever eaten.
Be aware if it is a Saturday you will probably wait for about 45 mins to get a table and if it’s autumn or winter it could be an outside one. Plan your visit well and bring a coffee for the queue as they don’t do takeaway on the weekend
p. (.
Been twice. Loved it twice. Such good food both times, tried a variety too - the American (which they need to rename the Canadian) and something else with salmon.
Super friendly and well organized staff make up for the fact that the popularity cause waiting times on weekends.
K. C.
Great place for breakfast! We ordered the english breakfast and american. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy, and the maple syrup did not overpower them with sweetness. The egg was perfectly cooked and tasted great with the baked beans and bacon. Very friendly and attentative service, they brought out wool seat covers and blankets as we were sitting outside in the cold! Definitely would go back for more pancakes!
S. Q.
Small cozy place, we chose the outside seating. Staff are friendly and service is good. The pancakes were really fluffy and good, I loved most their beans it was unbelievably yummy
C. B.
1 single Pancake & a Coffee = £10
A Firm Ouch
Word of Advice bring your own Maple syrup, for what they charge for a side of maple syrup (More expensive than the pancake itself) you could buy your own with more quantity
surprised the pancake didn’t come with even a little drizzle of maple which i thought it would when I ordered only to discover its extra charge when paying the bill.
Despite this service, pancake and coffee were nice
but deffo goes on the stupid things I’ve paid £10 for list 😃
s. c.
Fantastic service and app calling is back for our table worked well. Food was great but a little over priced and the mezzanine where we sat is a bit pocky
W. R.
These were some of the best pancakes I’ve had in London and I will definitely be back for more!
A. G.
Yummy. Great service and lovely atmosphere! We went for the blueberry with sprinkles of meringue which was simply delightful. No quibbles. Neither of us vegan but thought would try that version out too which was a little dry but a good attempt - hard to make it exciting in comparison but tasty nonetheless.
S. P.
I ordered the american with blueberries, bacon and sausage with the XO patron hot chocolate. Incredible combo. Savouriness was on point. I unfortunately couldn’t finish it all because it was a hefty portion. Regardless the flavours were there and exceptional. The staff were super friendly too!
A. A.
Very good pancakes!! They have a wide menu with salted and sweet options to choose. The service is very fast, but the place is not so big, so the waiting line can be up to one hour
A.
Finally got a chance to visit :) same as I expectd. The pancake is awesome, pretty soft, tasty, smash avo is fresh!! Mushroom is really juicy 😋
All staffs here are so friendly!
R. P.
Great pancakes. Great service.
g. s.
Food here never fails to impress! The English breakfast is the best dish I've had so far - I want to know how you make those bakes beans!!!!
E. M.
Went with a group of friends, 6 total. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and personable. My friend spilt her drink all over 30 seconds after getting it, manager immediately spotted it, asked a staff member to make another and then he ran over to help clean it up. Food was outstanding! I had the baby green pancakes, phenomenal! Prices where consistent with the area but you could really taste how fresh everything was. Worth it and we all would return again!
C. B.
oh my giddy giddy gosh no words can describe the taste Sensation that is where the pancakes are! I've been around the world and tried a million different bars, hundreds of restaurants and an uncountable number of desserts but this is the Mecca of pancakes. if it's your first time always go for the American with haloumi or bacon and do yourself a big favour... Try the juice.
R. M.
Great place, vegan options. i had the "simple pancakes " and added extras and it was amazing!!! the pancake it self is so good and worth the wait! except a loge line at the entrance.
E. B.
I was slighly disappointed with this place if I am honest. I've expected to be blown away by their pancakes but they were just alright.
We had 4 different ones:
- Breakfast
- Vegetarian breakfast
- Hummingbird
- Bramley & Cox apples Dutch baby
I must say, the Dutch baby was AMAZING! Very tasty, nicely made. I am happy I ordered that one for myself.
With the other 3, well the pancakes were the least tasty of the dishes. The batter used needs more flavouring, pancakes were tasteless. I am the person who loves pancakes and makes different ones every week. With flavours, spices the sky is the limit of the possible variations. These pancakes were plain and flavourless. :-(
The staff was a bit mixed. Some very friendly, one person was on the edge of being unfriendly... but they have accommodated well our additional requests and add on orders and the coffee is strong and good.
I am only giving 4*s because of the Dutch baby, that was the highlight of my lunch.
Returning again? Possibly yes, only to have another Dutch baby.
S. K.
As nice as the staff is the pancakes are really mediocre.
The wait for a table was really long which was expected. However the pancakes were average. Lacked flavour and sour. Did not meet up to our expectations.
A. G.
Perfect casual brunch spot (definitely book in advance) - servers are ultra polite and cheery and the place is regularly filled to the brim. Brilliant Sunday morning energy in Borough.
D. W.
Best pancakes in town! Honestly! big portions, good variety of sweet and savory, great value of money. Prepare to stay in the queue at least 30-45 min on weekend but it’s worth it!
G. M.
Nice place to go eat. They have a wide range of pancake types. You could miss the place though as sat nav on the phone wanted us to go past it. It's under the bridge though. Looks modern and the price wasn't too bad for London. Would go back again. Staff were friendly and efficient. It was drizzling so one of the staff came out and gave us an umbrella each whilst we waited.
S. P.
This is THE place for pancakes! Take into account to queue for a little if you haven't booked a table - which I recommend, especially since you will be in line outside (in the cold, tipically). Pancakes are so soft and yummy, they have a great variety but you can customize them just the way you like. Keep this place in mind if you come London, it is definitely worth the visit!
D. A. S.
Delicious food! Pancakes were very tasty. They have a huge variety of options and great service too.
D. K.
I don't have enough good things to say about this gem, we were visiting London for 5 days and had brunch there twice. The food is excellent but the service was exceptional. Thank you!
M. H. A.
Really yummy pancakes. They were very accommodating when they saw that we had two young kids and gave us a table inside as it was very cold.
a.
Absolutely delicious. The pancakes are divine, as was the entire meal. A really nice place overall, with friendly staff. A little on the pricey side, but it’s reflected in the food and environment. I’d return, and I’m recommending it.
E.
Delicious and nice vibe! 4 stars as it's a bit too expensive. Service is nice and relaxed. They also offer gluten free options
C. W. W.
Great place with good pancake's with a wide selection of savoury and sweet toppings. What I like about here is that they serve things that you won't find any other pancake house.
The "Dutch" pancake which I saw another customer have looked amazing Yorkshire pudding like pancake served in its own hot skillet.
They serve buttermilk pancakes here but also vegan and gluten free versions. The pancakes are American style thick and doughy.
Overall had a good experience here.
H. L. F.
When: Aug 2018 for brunch
What we ordered: Australian, drinks and a royale
Value: 5/5 - excellent food! Every dish has its own special characteristic. I usually go for the full breakfast but this time I tried the Australian was it was yummilicious! Fresh juice and all! Love it!
Service: 4/5 - lovely staff and very helpful but the wait can be long. They don't take booker for 2 people for example. Avoid peak hours (11AM - noon)
Atmosphere: 5/5 - nice decor and option to sit outside (usually if you opt to sit outside the service is faster when the weather is slightly cold)
Overall Experience: not a complaint! Would come here over The Breakfast Club and London Grind down the road!
J. R.
Arrived at 10.34am.
Got a table straight away, ordered within 10mins.
Food arrived about 25mins later (felt longer).
Good tasting pancakes and sausages.
Bacon was very tough and the maple syrup was slightly sour tasting but that’s just my preference.
When the bill came i was shocked at the price of 3 pancakes, 1 sausage and 3 thin rashers of tough bacon.
Y. T.
Amazing Tasting Pancakes! All the Combinations work incredibly well! The Pancakes are light and fluffy!
I was not the biggest fan of pancakes but all these combined changed that opinion quick!
J. D.
Amazing food, great price and good service. Best pancakes I've ever had, definitely going back again
J. L.
The queue was pretty long (c.1hr at peak times), we opted to sit outside which made it 30mins. Staff were nice and food was good, we liked the pancakes a lot more than the "famous" dutch baby. Overall, pretty good but not worth the wait.
C. D.
Decent pancakes, good service, and a nice setting with heated outdoor seating. A bit pricey, but nothing too unexpected considering the location.
J. D.
Decent pancakes with interesting combinations but not enough to fill you up on a Sunday morning. For the price I would expect to leave feeling full!
D.
No queue when you reserve. Delicious pancakes and large variety of options. Orange juice expensive for what it is though.
N. B.
I really enjoyed Where the Pancakes Are. The queuing was excessive considering they won't do bookings, but it did flow and they turned over the tables really quickly. The menu was varied and catered to all. The hot drinks were exceptional and everyone in my party enjoyed their meals. I was not blown away by the vegan pancakes and was unsure of what the creamy, porridge like substance on top of pancakes was but nonetheless we all enjoyed our meals.
What stands out is the fanastic service, which was friendly, accommodating and efficient.
M. H.
You can simply enjoy some nice pancakes with friends in a lovely morning in London. Staff are friendly. And what's even better, they are close to Borough Market, so we can also walk there to look around!
V. G.
Nice place in general. Pancakes taste good but there’s not enough fruits with them though. You can find better places in London for the same price and you would have at least 3 pancakes and more fruits. We’ve been there twice already.. Also the chocolate sauce on the pancakes didn’t taste really good. The orange juice is nice. The queuing is always excessive as they don’t do bookings.
On the other hand the service is fantastic.
N. S.
We had to sign up for an onlinr queue and we walked around for like 1 hour until we got the message that our table was ready. But it’s worth the wait, the pancakes are reaallly good. Service is also nice and friendly.
G. S.
I like the concept and execution, especially for weekend brunch. But still I get the feeling it could be great with a few touches. The menu could be a little more expansive and inventive with flavours. There are some nice touches with the little books left around for you to read. Can get very busy on weekends! Vegetarian options are readily available.
D. D.
Great place for a brunch. Both sweet and savory pancakes are great, the service is very friendly. Try to get in a bit early as there are sometimes long queues on the weekends. Definitely worth it though!
T. L.
Soak up the buzzy atmosphere of Flat Iron Square while you bite into fabulously fluffy buttermilk pancakes topped with sweet or savoury ingredients, it’s a great way to spend an hour!
E. I.
Simply the best pancakes I’ve ever had! The staff were really lovely.
S. S.
Love these pancakes 🥞 and want to them every day!! This is going to be our regular place now 😋
L. S.
We went their for branch last Saturday, the place is really nice the staff are nice as well, we ordered savoury pancakes and sweet pancakes, in my opinion the sweet one is better just the chocolate sauce was quite watery, the savoury ones was okay but nothing special, to be honest it is a nice place to visit the service is good but I had better pancakes before and this is why I’m giving it 4 ⭐️.
L. J.
The Best pancakes in town. Absolutely delightful. Soft fluffy and spongey in all the right places. Also awesome selection of unique savoury combinations. Family friendly - great quiet spot in the busy borough market area.
V. S. M.
Fantastic pancakes. I kind of expected an overpriced indulgent food that's just tasty junk food. Although that would be great, this was way better! The pancakes have complex and interesting flavours and there are quite a few interesting options to explore. They are also indulgent and the portions are big.
The coffee was not too good, but still a 5 star place.
A. G.
What an amazing place! Do yourselves a favor and reserve a place in advance. We had to wait about 30 minutes, but it was absolutely worth it. Amazing vegan selection and the dishes are tasty and unique.
R. L.
Quality Pancakes. Arrive early on weekends and prepared for be at the line for at least 30 min. Worths the wait . Best pancakes of the city so far .
I. R.
Tastiest pancakes I've ever had 10/10 😁😁
A. P.
Great selection of pancakes, very friendly and helpful staff. Food tasted amazing as well
C. W.
Very tasty pancakes and excellent service. Being great means it gets very busy. Recommend booking. We didn’t, and waited over an hour for a table (but were able to wander as they can message you when table is free). It was well worth it.
J. H.
Very creative breakfast and brunch. Pancakes are perfect, the bacon is tasty without being overpowering, the beans are bursting with flavour with what I would describe as a Catalan twist - not dry, but just a tad sweet. Certainly not the boring beans served by almost every other restaurant.
M. F.
Yummy pancakes, the presentation of the food is beautiful, great menu with vegan options. Lovely atmosphere and staff. Great for a special breakfast or brunch.
K. L.
Great pancakes. Saw some reviews about bad service, but I’m sure those are some minor hiccups. My server was nothing but nice and took care of us really well.
Wonderful fluffy pancakes. Do expect a wait for delicious pancakes on the weekend though. I was here at 9:30 on a Sunday and there was a queue outside the door from 9:45 onwards.
Really recommend the Banana and praline pancakes! Delicious!
Z. Z.
The service is very good, pancakes are okay, and the place is cosy. The vegan breakfast has a very good halloumi cheese. I didn’t really like berries they used for the berry pancake, they were frozen and didn’t taste fresh.
C. D.
Pancakes were tasty and the atmosphere was nice. Not sure it was worth the 30-40min wait for a table though especially since you can't order take away coffee while you wait
k. c.
Can't really fault this place - the service and food was great. This was my second time here and was just as enjoyable as the first (with better company however!)
R. D.
My best pancakes I have ever had!
I'm big fun of pancakes and I could eat them every day. This place is really where the real pancakes are. They couldn't come up with better name. Fluffy pancakes that taste so incredibly good without any topping. Variety of choices between sweet and savoury. Decent coffee and amazing place. It's my new favourite place in London.
R. C.
Really tasty fluffy pancakes and a nice little place. The menu has some great choices. The staff could have been better but overall it was good
H. A.
Nice and friendly service. Food arrived in good time and very well made. A range of choices from sweet and savoury breakfasts to pick from. Coffee was nice. Plus on this hot day, they very kindly filled up my water bottle with ice 😊
F. W.
We’d been wanting to visit here for a while but there was always a big queue. We arrived at 10am and were only waiting for 5 minutes outside for a table. The food was delicious, good quality and portion sizes. Lots to choose from on the menu and friendly waiter.
P. K.
It was a good experience overall. We had to wait for 45 minutes, because they don't accept reservations. The good side was that it's pet friendly. The locations is not so good. It is a small place able to fit like 25 people max. The food is interesting, the Dutch classics are a must to be tried, however the portions are really small. You will need to order two portions. It's a place to see but the hype will be gone soon.
J. D.
The place is nice, the pancakes were really tasty but the staff seemed a little bothered / bored and we waited a really long time for any service multiple times. I was looking forward to this place since I saw it in HappyCow but the staff thing kinda ruined a probably otherwise pleasant experience :)
A. S.
Lovely place for brunch. Modern decor, good service and vibes, and really, really good pancakes. Would highly recommend their pancakes royale with smoked salmon and eggs Benedict. Cooked to perfection.
Would definitely return to check their sweet options.
C. H.
It's just space! Dish from the chef. Photo taken on Iphone 12
C. G.
Small place and quite busy during the weekend but nice and with very friendly staff. Pancakes are good and not overpriced. I've been there with my boyfriend and we got a vegetarian breakfast and sweet pancakes with banana and blueberries. Also, the area is perfect if you want to enjoy London avoiding the crowds.
B. E.
If you want an American style pancake breakfast it’s the place to be
D. D.
Best. Pancakes. Ever. I ordered the maple and butter with a side of sea salted caramel. So good we went back the next day and would have gone more but our vacation was ending. Very friendly and helpful staff. We’ll be back next time we visit London!
D. C.
Absolutely loved it. Everything was very tasty. Great pancakes. Place is very busy, many customers all the time. Very kind and friendly staff. Will definitively come again.
J. T.
Great little find. Lovely spot and probably the best fluffy pancakes you're likely to find. A really good range of options on the menu for savoury or those with a sweet tooth. The children absolutely loved it. Also really nice staff and a great setting under the shadow of The Shard.
L.
Delicious. Lovely staff who make you smile. Great shelter and heating outside so a great brunch spot even on a rainy day
I. V.
One of the best brunch places around London bridge. Definitely it's worth to try both savoury and sweet pancakes.
V. B.
Nice little restaurant in London serving some amazing pancakes. Staff is very cool, personable and friendly. Will definitief be back to try out the other pancakes!
H. W.
A nice pancake place. Pretty good vibes and friendly staff. Pancake are good. Although nothing super impressive, it's a nice place to go with couple of friends and chill for an afternoon with some tea and dessert.
P. D.
Very tasty and fresh pancakes.
K. L.
Delicious pancakes but the prices are a bit high for what you get.
G. f. M.
Delicious Gluten free pancakes! I ordered the praline pancake with sea salted caramel and banana. Loved it. Nice staff, cosy place, and delicious food. 👏🏻
A. B.
Great options for all dietary needs. Can be long ques so get there early! Nice to see the TAP box for homeless too, convenient for contactless.
G. C.
Excellent pancakes served with genuine maple syrup and good quality bacon. (The American)
Booking is essential at weekends unless you are happy to wait. We ate at the outside tables to avoid the quoted 45 minute wait.
Only downside was service, which although pleasant, seemed stressed and stretched. They didn't bring us any of our ordered drinks, and brought the hot food out before the cutlery, meaning food was getting cold while we waited for that element.
M. N.
Went there for Pancake Day. They had a set menu not their regular one, so not all the options were available... I ordered the simple pancakes with butter and maple syrup, it was delicious! It was a long wait in the cold... many ppl were let through ahead of us cuz we were 3. But it was worth the wait. Must come back when the full menu is there.
Edit. Came back. Less busy in the afternoon mid week. I had to order the simple again, this time with lemon and sugar ...so yum. Also we got the Dutch babies (pic) a must try.
J. N.
Pancakes were so yummy!! It's a small place but it's very cute and tucked within flat iron square. Had the American pancakes and I'd definitely go back to try the others!
H. N.
Had pancakes for birthday here. Wait wasn’t too long at about 11am on a Saturday. Space isn’t massive, but it’s a cute little shop with good quality fluffy hot cakes.
S. K.
Best pancakes ever and service great! Book in advance on weekends otherwise you’ll be waiting
B. M.
Amazing food, great service and staff, only downside is you need a warm coat and the door has to stay open and it gets really cold inside
L. M.
Pancakes were out of this world. There was a line and they don't take reservations, but worth it! Eggnog latte was amazing!!
E.
Great brunch spot, good selection of savoury and sweet options and can pretty much design your own pancakes. The location is good, a few blocks from the usual tourist trails on the southbank and tucked away in a railway arch.
E. K.
Beautiful little spot for pancake day...which is everyday!! A well thought menu, putting a modern spin on classic pancakes.
Y. L.
Love this place!! Excellent variety of pancakes and great customer service. 10/10 would recommend
N. G.
Beautiful cafe. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. So many variations of pancakes you can choose from which is fantastic.
J. G.
Incredible and innovative pancakes! Kind staff! I will come back for sure.
C. S.
Homemade marshmallows are delish!!! Staff member that served us was absolutely lovely and they have delicious pancakes. Not much more to ask for really. Seating inside was well spaced out and Covid compliant. Seating available outside too.
P. A.
If you like pancakes, you'll love this place...great selection of different toppings,
We came for breakfast and it was fantastic
S. q.
This is definitely one of good places in London for pancakes... Seating outside is refreshing in this time of the year. Their coffee was great as well
A. H. G.
Perfect for a weekend brunch. A very good selection of both savoury and sweet pancakes. It can get quite busy and there might be a long queue to get in. The area outside, however, has heat lamps and as long as it's not raining, it can be quite nice to sit there.
M. C. (.
The basil marshmallow was a nice discovery. Pancakes 🥞 worth waiting for, but maybe arrive earlier in the day. And they use real maple syrup, which tastes like tree 😉
A. K.
Had to wait 40 minutes on a Saturday morning. Pancakes taste floury and mediocre, can make better ones at home. Only redemption is it’s instagrammable exterior.
M. O. '. E.
So this is a difficult one to review - the food is great, the queuing system is abysmal. I don’t mind queuing, and 30min for brunch isn’t unusual in central London, but the lady who was ‘managing’ the queue should go to a few different restaurants (Flat Iron does it really well) to see how to improve. There were a few groups in front of us (4 and 5) which obviously took longer to seat than us (2). All fine so far, were it not that there were at one point 3 separate two couverts free and ready for up to 15min, whilst we were told that she had to keep them free to seat the 4 in front of us - no logic whatsoever. Great pancakes and quick service once seated, just very unfortunate it seemed so unorganized to get there.
R. H.
Absolutely brilliant place to grab breakfast. I had the American and it was really good with fluffy and tasty hot cakes.
F. S.
Beautiful little spot with inventive range of savory and sweet pancakes. Forest fruits pictured here. Wonderful customer service and fantastic coffee too. Top tip for locating the place is that it’s just inside the little courtyard - although they have a chalk board on Southwark bridge road that helps.
K. S.
Amazing food! Short wait before - totally worth it. English breakfast pancake were sublime and pulled beef was absolute heaven!
Totally recommend!
A. M.
The pancake's are amazing and the bloody mary's are lovely and spicy. Perfect place to meet with friends or daytime date
K. L. T.
Lovely atmosphere, clean, friendly staff, delicious pancakes!!
R. V. (.
AMAZING! I loved everything here, I opted for the veggie breakfast which was filling but not over loaded - my plate was clean in the end. Bit of a wait before being seated and you can't reserve a table unless you're part of a large group (I think it was 10+) so best to get in early before the crowd comes
D. G.
Fantastic pancakes and top notch service they were very helpful and friendly and we will be coming back again. Excellent for vegans and kids.
L. J. S.
The place is nice and quiet, especially before lunch time. Their simple pancakes with caramel and banana is sooo good! I'd love to come back next time. Great service!
J. H.
Great services service and good vegan options. Nice location too. Really enjoyed my pancakes on a warm February day.
R. L.
Great little hidden away place. Came here on accident this morning and it was really nice. Everything was reasonably priced and the service was quick. The food and hot chocolates were delicious and just the right amount to fill us up. Definitely will come back next time.
t. s.
Great staff and great food. So what if it takes a while! You normally appreciate that quality can take a little bit longer.unlike the review i just read, iwoyld prefer excellence to take a little bit longer than get it quickly and forget it quickly. Love you guys. Next time we're in London we'll be back. Stay safe!!!
S.
Amazing food at super reasonable prices for London, with very friendly amd attentive staff. The 3 in 1 pancakes are delicious and perfect for vegans or those with dietary requirements!
V. D.
Quite small portions if you order pancakes only but they taste AMAZING. Definitely worth trying.
E. Ø.
Best savory pancakes I've ever had. Great coffee. Cool staff. Was lucky enough to not encounter a queue
S. T.
Great choice of pancakes, with both savory and sweet options 😍
N. R.
On weekends there is a wait (about 20-30 minutes before 2, after 2 it gets quieter). During weekdays can book so it's a bit better. Service is good, food is great. My second time here and definitely not the last.
J. A. G.
It's located at Flat Iron Square so you can have some drinks after in any bar. Good service, average price and really tasty! It's worth the wait :)
D. N.
The place to go for American style pancakes and such a cool setting
k. g.
The pancakes were delicious, but the waiting time for the food to be served took around 45mins - an hour for a group size of 8.
N. G.
Came to Where The Pancakes Are on Sunday after accidentally booking the Saturday and the host (i think he said he was called Tom) couldn't have been more accommodating to ensure that my entire family was seated within minutes upon arriving, dispite the error on my behalf. As a family we ordered a mix of both savoury and sweet pancakes which were absolutely delicious, however it is the high level of customer service which will definitely be reason we will return.
A.
Great food, great staff. Pretty expensive for breakfast, so not somewhere you'd go every day, but worth it as a treat.
V. B.
The place looks amazing inside! And the food is great as well. It was really ingenious to get the receipt in a small poetry book! Loved it!
J. S.
Amazing staff. Food is delicious and warms you from the inside out. The out door seating is a must.
K. W.
Good location, delicious food, friendly staff. The overall experience was great.
V. Y.
Lovely place, good selection of savoury and sweet selection. Staff was very friendly. Also has a vegan/gluten free option.
M. C.
Delicious pancakes ! So soft and kids loved them!

The staff were really friendly and attentive, so hats off to them! There is plenty of outdoor seating which is nice. However, I found the food quite average for the price. When I'm paying £13 for eggs royal I expect a lot, but they skimped on the smoked salmon and the asparagus.
So it was a nice atmosphere, thanks to the staff, but I expected more from the food at that price point.
M. C.
A popular place!! We had a 30 minute wait for a table (outside) but it was worth it! I do think they should maybe give out menus when in the queue possibly even offer the chance to purchase a drink but understand this isn’t easy logistically. The service was really good. Friendly and helpful. The menu is great. I went for the Ham Eggs Benedict. Lots of choice. A really good children’s menu too. If you like pancakes you have to visit here!
D. “. I.
Nice and comfortable place, food is amazing! Beware of the queues, be sure to arrive before 10 in the morning if you don't want to wait too much.
N. C.
Good food! One waitress was rude when I asked for something. The other staff were courteous and polite.
M. R.
Busy place, quite a wait but we'll worth it. Cracking pancakes. Reservation advised.
Y. A.
It was delicious. Very well presented. Different choice from sweet to savoury 😋
L. V.
Absolutely lovely - had to wait 1 hour for a table for 5 of us, but it was so worth it and I’d do it again!
O. P. B.
Lovely, nice restaurant with friendly staff and great quality pancakes. Jewel in the crown in of Southwark's recent regeneration, along with a lovely pub and construction of a tapas bar. The place is awesome, however, personally I would have preferred the chocolate ganache to be actual Nutella: ganache too rich for me. Still, small criticism. Great work guys!
T. E.
Good choice of savoury and sweet pancakes. Good service as well! Will be going back to try more dishes!
a. b.
Excellent food and excellent service thank you
R.
If I could give it more stars I would. Best pancakes I have ever had. Super fluffy and tasty. Service is great and beautifully decorated.
M. M.
amazing pancakes and such a lovely, chatty owner! Amazing customer service from all the staff. The pancakes were great also, with many traditional and also more 'out there' combos- would recommend!
P. T.
Big selections of pancakes, sweet or savoury. Service was great, try arrive early as it get's very busy!
A. G.
Fantastic.
But the order kinda took too long to prepare
A.
Be ready to wait 1.5 h to get a table ( table for 2 ) food is decent but I certainly wouldn’t stand in line again for it. Don’t really know why this place is so popular other then for the location.
J. A.
Absolutely love this place! The food is good the service is great! Really friendly people and calm cool atmosphere I would definitely recommend!
S. S.
Great food, great pancakes and somehow better than that, the service was friendly, knowledgeable and quick
O. T.
Amazing pancakes! Friendly staff! We went for brunch and I strongly recommend the Welsh Rarebit!
B. F.
We were 5 people and had a bit of a wait (30min on a Saturday at lunch time) but the pancakes made up for it. Deliciously fluffy!
M. S.
Best pancakes I ever had. Consistent every time I go.
R. S.
Cool environment, nice food. Cozy. Food quality and quantity does not meet price expectations.
d.
Good pancakes convinient place nice venue. Waited a bit too long though
A. T.
+ Inventive and delicious flavour combos
+ Friendly service
+ Good for breakfast, lunch or even dinner
+ Savoury & sweet options
+ Around £7 for a pancake dish
A.
Great sweet and savoury pancakes with a twist. Would definitely go back to try more from the menu. Pic attached is the banana praline marshmallow
M. F.
I just need to say that the images speak for themselves and that the queue is worth the wait.💕
PD: My friend left her umbrella there :( I hope we can get it back..
M. B.
Tasty pancakes - some dishes are overpriced, but I had the simple (2 pancakes for £6) and I thought that was good value for money. The service was a little slower than I would have liked, but the staff was very nice. And the coffee was exceptional - maybe even better than the pancakes themselves. As I had a reservation, I didn't have to wait at all, unlike other reviewers, which was a relief!
v.
Nice pancakes around £9-11, fresh ingredients. Clean toilet.
R. J.
Had a great time here for a birthday - was a Thursday and we'd booked a table, so no big queues or anything to worry about, even thought it's small on the inside. Was somewhere really different to go compared to Italian/burger/Chinese etc and felt like a proper occasion place. Had the American pancakes (3 with halloumi, blueberries and maple syrup, a surprisingly good mix of sweet and savoury). Had a good range of choices for savoury breakfast type pancakes and then smaller, cheaper desert pancakes (with things like pear and salted caramel, or praline/banana/marshmallow). Generally good service, only thing that would've been better would have been all our pancakes coming out at the same time - some people had finished theirs by the time others started. But overall a great place to go that feels out of the ordinary
s. N.
Excellent service and lovely pancakes though a tad overpriced.
A. M.
Firstly a great little spot, previously unknown to me. It has a great little terrace area and the staff are very welcoming and attentive.
After a view of the menu I decided to leave my comfort zone and have the pulled pastrami pancakes which was a weird concept for me.... Meat with pancakes?..! However to my delight the combination of pastrami with cheese and a little sourkrout was immense, and melted in the mouth and maybe I could now be considered a savoury pancake convert. Thoroughly enjoyed the food. I followed my meal with their Spanish latte coffee that was delicious, a tribute to a Spanish Cafe bonbon but without the suagr overload. This made the perfect end to a very healthy lunch.
Would fully recommend this place
C. H.
Literally a hidden gem. I cannot express how impressed I was with the service and the food here. They brought my daughters food out first (4 years old) as she said she wa starving.
Then came my full English my first experience pancakes with a full eng. Was amazing a taste sensation!!! Go and visit you will not be disappointed.
C. i.
What can I say? My poached pear pancakes arrived and it was too DIE FOR 🤤 the customer service was top notch too but it was VERY busy in the restaurant
A. S.
Best pancakes 🥞🥰
V. H.
Yes the pancakes are stunning and I love the decoration and the casual atmosphere :-)))
C. M.
Tasty pancakes and interesting combination of toppings. Well worth the short wait!
V. F.
Amazing pancakes 😋 you need to book but definitely worth it
R. H.
Very good pancakes but they take far too long to be served. Needs a bigger/faster kitchen for its seating capacity. Shame as it taints the overall experience
J. M. C.
Be warned, there is usually a long queue in the weekends, but for good reason! The pancakes are lovely, thick and fluffy and the menu choices are delicious and vary from sweet to savoury. I would happily try all the dishes served here. Coffee is delicious too!
N.
So good returned a second day. Amazing food and good friendly service. Especially the blonde waitress.
T. S.
Amazing food. Dutch baby is amazing and the coffee is great too!
J. K.
Coffee was really nice, i think it was the best in London so far.
We weren't able to sit I side, didn't know we have to reserve a table. Sat outside, nice place, heatet ceiling.
The Pancakes where seriously delicious.
Small portion but good quality.
Recommend this place.
G. L.
Very cute restaurant, friendly staff great atmosphere and amazing food!
S.
Fantastic Dutch Babies. I absolutely loved the food. It blew my mind.
I highly recommend the goat cheese Dutch Baby.
M. B.
Wonderful place to enjoy delicious pancakes. Cosy location and excellent service. I highly recommend it.
A. d. K.
Good breakfast/brunch spot. Try to get in by 10am on weekends so that you don’t have to stand in a really long queue! Been there before for 11 brunch but had to abort that mission or stand in a queue for 45 minutes.
I had the simple pancakes with a side order of poached eggs and bacon. This allowed me to have my sweet and savoury which was smart because the portion sizes are too generous for you to order a savoury and sweet pancake dish in one sitting.
The venue has outside seating and is pet friendly, so this spot is a win!
Please like if you found this review helpful.

I enjoyed some delicious vegan pancakes a few weeks ago. The pancakes had a good texture and flavour and there was lots of choice for vegans which was great. The staff were friendly and helpful. They forgot to bring the sauce with my pancakes and as an apology I was offered a free drink which was nice.
S. W.
Love this place! Amazing pancakes, great coffee
k.
Really nice pancakes to take as breakfast.
Pancakes are amazin, chief is a genius.
Lovely Girls are smiling every second, which is help develop a morning mood.
J. R.
Arrived to find a long queue for a table but it moved at a reasonable, but not, rapid pace.
Glasses were put on the table but the waitress forgot the water jug, although it was provided quickly when I asked.
They have a good range of sweet and savory options, all with fresh ingredients.
The three of us each had a different pancake, I chose savory, my companions sweet. The service was prompt and the food arrived quickly. It was nicely presented and we all enjoyed our choices.
For some reason, although my plate had the most on it, I was left feeling hungry but, as I was the only one who was, it may be down to me rather than the food.
Pancakes made a nice change and we'd all be happy to return.
T. C.
Fantastic breakfast and a smooth running operation - absolute pleasure to watch. Service in top as well as the food - highly recommended.
A. T.
Royal pancakes are beautiful, eggs perfectly cooked. More asparagus ok the plate might have been nice. Great service and very friendly staff.Went with a group of friends, 6 total. Staff were very welcoming, friendly and personable. My friend spilt her drink all over 30 seconds after getting it, manager immediately spotted it,
J. S.
Very good pancakes at an affordable price and are filling!
L. O.
Came here today with friends, busy vibe but we didn’t have to wait long for a table. Love the interior, atmosphere, & the food was amazing. The woman with the tattoos gave us amazing drinks & her food recommendations were fantastic, her service style was really friendly and approachable. Would definitely go back with my family and eat everything.
B. W.
I loved having breakfast here, the staff was so friendly and pancakes fluffy. We almost did not come tho as we were trying to book a table the evening before however the reservation system kept saying it's fully booked, when we were passing by the place I gave it a try and asked and has been seated straight away. I think the booking system needs a fix as there were some empty tables when we arrived despite the booking saying it's fully booked. :)
E. S.
I was standing a queue for 20min.
But pancake was fluffy and delicious!
C. P.
The pancakes are really delicious and there's a good selection of sweet and savoury options. However, I've been there 3 times now (all weekday lunchtimes with 1 or 2 other people) and twice the food has taken a long time to arrive. Not sure why, since pancakes and toppings are hardly the most time-consuming food to plate up...
Highly recommend the food and it is definitely worth the visit, but be prepared to wait for your meal.
M. M.
We arrived just after 10am for Sunday brunch & there was already a queue. A good sign that a place is so popular but a sad sight if you're really hungry. We stayed & waited about 20-30 minutes in the queue.
Once seated our ordervwasvtaken quickly & we didn't wait long for our pancakes to arrive. American stack- 3 pancakes with bananas, bacon & maple syrup. Hot fresh & delicious .
Although it was very busy we weren't rushed but we didn't hang about as there was still a long queue & we appreciated how those in the queue felt, just as we had earlier.
My tip - get there early or be prepared to wait, it's worth the wait.
A. M.
A bit disappointing as the hype doesn’t match food quality. Pancakes are good but nothing special (and overpriced). I asked for our drinks twice after food arrived (it was a simple ice tea) but since I had finished eating and they still didn’t arrived I said I didn’t want them anymore. They tried to make us pay for it anyways. London is full of nice breakfast places, you don’t have to queue hours for this specific one!
H. G.
Amazing pancakes. Great menu and great ethical story behind the food.
J. S.
Great find! The buttermilk pancakes on there own were so good! Enjoyed the coffee as well!
S. V.
Love the places only thing make reservation well already otherwise long wait over 2 hours.
T. P.
5 stars are going to the amazing waitress from Scotland. I have a feeling that the store was really understaffed (15.12) and she was doing everything to keep everyone happy and she was really kind. She definitely needs a raise 💪🏼 Working on hospitality myself I know how hard it is so big up to her! And get her some staff to help her out haha
A.
The service was great and the staff were very friendly. However, the food was mediocre and not worth the price whatsoever. The hot drinks arrived lukewarm, and the pancakes weren’t good. One thing that shocked me was the prices for such a meal! I added a banana to my pancake, which was charged as an extra £4!! I could buy you a whole bunch of bananas for 70p.
J. L.
Super food, super people. Sweet and savoury options. Always delicious. Their coffees and drinks are also top 🥞☕
P. W.
Amazing pancakes, great location and fantastic staff! Will definitely be returning
R. P.
Great place for breakfast but worthy to book in advance.
B. C.
Been there with friends for brunch. The restaurant being in a close, it didn't feel like we were in such a busy area. We found a table easily. We chose that place since half our party didn't eat dairy, and the restaurant offers vegan pancakes (i mean, who would say no to pancakes if they fit your diet ?).
The menu contains different options for everyone, ans even the vegan dishes were elaborate, and not just a bland option that we often find in restaurants.
The waiting staff was caring and efficient.
We will return for sure.
S. D. S.
Ir was my first time and I will definitely be going back! The food was amazing.. best pancakes ever! The staff was very kind and so lovely! Truly a great experience!
E. A.
Great food and coffee, lovely staff and great accomodation.
H. T.
Where you can find not only sweet pancakes, but also savory ones as well. Light and fluffy as clouds, they taste great on their own but come on mate - you do yourself a disservice eating so. What about the delicious syrup, the other toppings that come with the meal, and not to forget the House Cream, described as Milk of The Gods (well they don't say it outright but it dang well should be). Don't just show up at breakfast, show up whenever you feel the need to have great pancakes.
This is where the pancakes are, after all.
M. H.
The succulence of these pancakes... absolutely delicious but it's worth mentioning that the design of this cost little pancake shop adds to the experience. It's incredibly minimalist, with awesome design picks. It creates a fabulous atmosphere for breakfast or brunch.
The staff was super friendly!
A. D.
Banana pancakes with basil marshmallow (sounds odd, is AMAZING) and salted caramel sauce - sooooo good. Telling everyone I can about it now and will 100% be back <3
B. S.
Great choice of pancakes, as you'd expect! I can't resist the one with fresh strawberries and cream, with a Spanish coffee afterwards. My friend and I meet here to chat, the staff treat we old ladies with in a very kindly manner and allow us go take us as long as we like.
K. V.
Yummalicious! Great selection, great dietary requirement options without compromising on taste. Will be back when I wanna treat myself!
P. W.
Visited this establishment on my birthday for a celebratory breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful and answered any questions, also happy to amend the menu to make the order complete. I opted for the Banana Praline Marshmallow, and was not disappointed. Basil marshmallow was great, pralines were super tasty. My wife had the vegan breakfast but opted for the non vegan pancakes, they were happy to serve it how she wanted.
Looking forward to going back for more fried batter!
D. B.
Perfect pancakes, they are fluffy and taste amazing, prices are reasonable for what you are given especially extras. I went two days in a row while spending three days in London. Both days staff were pleasant and the food was hot. I loved the music, the decor. Giving free water as soon as each customer sits down as well.
I honestly can not think of a single fault with this place, I will be going again next time I visit London
Update: 15/05/2019: I came here again nearly a year after and it still managed to blow my expectations out the window, I had the American and it filled me perfectly and the apple juice I ordered was delicious, still serving free water before ordering as well.
HIGHLY recommend this place. 100%
J. L.
The pancakes are here. That is a fact. But, you must wait for them. Like Christmas thoughts in March or a nightbus in London, patience is a must. It's genuinely difficult to differentiate between mind-blowing pancakes and the sheer joy of reversing a calorie deficit incurred by the 80 minute wait. Even two coffees and a snack while in line didn't prepare me for the two extensions as the app jumped from "your 5 minutes away from pancakes" to "just kidding, you're still like 20 minutes from being seated." Were the pancakes good? They were excellent. Would a dead rat coated in honey and saw dust have been as delicious at that point? Quite possibly.
C. J.
Great name, great pancakes, good coffee and attentive staff. Only a short wait to be seated. Had the slow cooked brisket pancake. The pickled veg and cabbage made it taste like a reuben with a slight Asian twist. Perfect for brunch especially if you have a busy social afternoon planned, those pancakes really soak up the booze.
O. V.
Decent pancakes but portion is a bit small for the price.
A. R.
Came here for a birthday with my family and Victoria was the best host ever. She made the whole queue laugh, clearing tables and making sure everyone was happy, and was so accommodating, thanks to her, she made our visit so much more special. Pancakes were AMAZING too!
H. D.
Amazing pancakes in a compact but inviting place. Definitely give it a try!
C.
Such a great unique menu and excellent service. Came here for a brunch treat for my boyfriend's birthday, and they were lovely enough to serve his with a candle in his stack on request, which was really lovely of them to do. We visited on a weekday rather than a weekend, so we were able to book and guarantee a table, but I do think it would be worth waiting for on a weekend because the entire menu is divine! Can't wait to visit again and try another stack!
J. !.
Nice set up, average foods, above average price for the pancakes and good staff
G. S.
Outstanding pancakes! Lovely place, super friendly. Great service, fantastic coffee and really really good pancakes. Not cheap, but you really do get excellent food and coffee. Definetly recommended
R. S.
Amazing food and coffee! The staff were all great too. Would definitely come back again
R.
Great pancakes with great toppings. Like a dominos for pancakes? You decide.
S. S.
Nothing to write home about. After a 40min wait, I was expecting much better quality pancakes. To be fair - I was aware that the wait would be long, so that didn’t bother me too much. However, the pancakes were very standard - not as flavorful and fluffy as I would have liked them to be.
L. E.
Really good pancakes! It is definitely worth the wait. We waited for over an hour but they messaged us via text message, so we didn't have to stay around. However they were out of vegan pancakes (which was originally why we sought out this place) and they didn't inform us beforehand. So we waited for an hour to onky be told that vegan pancakes weren't available today. Not cool!
I'm definitely going there again to try the vegan pancakes!
C. T.
What a gem. Nice place for a wonderful time and breakfast. Great little restaurant.
C.
Visited first thing on a Thursday so it was pretty quiet when we went. Pancakes were absolutely amazing, super fluffy, crispy bacon and enough maple syrup for the stack. It was indeed where the pancakes were, setting the bar pretty high in my hunt for the perfect stack. Would come here every week if I didn’t live in a different county.
I. B.
A cosy little establishment specialising in both sweet and savoury pancakes. They have an interesting brunch menu with a good selection of hot drinks.
What sets them apart is their savoury fare, I've had savoury pancakes in the past that would put anyone off them, but this place does it right.
With the pancakes seasoned just right the chef leaves the fresh ingredients to do the talking. It's a very delightful experience.
S. O.
Nice place, pancakes are fluffy and hummy, hot chocolate was nice as well
C. C.
Amazing pancakes. Great atmosphere. Enough said!
E.
I liked the look of the pancakes more than the pancake themselves to be honest. I went when the place was nearly empty (maybe another table was waiting before me) and after taking the order it took 20 mins to get some food. Good customer service though. The bacon was a bit too cooked and hard to even cut. Great location and still nice spot for cheeky breakfast. Not impressed though. Will probably go again to give it a second chance
V. L.
I love pancakes. I literally travel over an hour just to come here to have their pancakes.
M. G.
The pancakes were decent but definitely not as good as the reviews would have you believe. Also, slightly overpriced and the portions were poor. The service was good but the variety of options was still lacking. Expect a huge queue, especially on a weekend. I doubt I'd be going back. So many better options in London.
M. C.
Heavenly made pancakes. I have no idea what these guys are doing to serve such tasty combos and what the recipe is for those pancakes but it definitely works. Also cool spot, simple design and always busy. It’s better if you book a table as there might be a bit of wait until they get you sorted. Close to Broadway Market, London Bridge, the Shard, Tower Bridge and a few more street markets to discover especially during the weekend. Prices are not too bad but you usually get what you pay for innit? I have been there a few times and hopefully will also go back again as soon as I get the chance to (my stomach is still dreaming of those pancakes to be honest) 😋👀🍌🍓🥞🍽☕️
J. D.
If only there could be reservations during the weekend. You usually have to queue 30-60 min. However, probably you cannot find as fluffy pancakes anywhere else so I have to admit it is very worth the hype. Waiters and manager are extremely polite and attentive as well.
C. S.
The pancakes are unbelievable!! Well worth the money, they are soft and light and come with some amazing topping combinations. The coffee is also great, recommend the Spanish Latte which is coffee and condensed milk very naughty 😊 the staff are also very helpful and polite will be going back no doubt.
E. G.
Love this place! Amazing food and drinks, best service ever! Kevin was our waiter and he was super friendly and helpful :) defo will be coming back soon!!!
F. D.
Lunch took 45 minutes to come out. Food was nice but nothing special
K. (.
I loved this place, it's trendy, you eat very well. Perfect !
T. X.
Make sure you reserve as queue is out the door! Had the pancake royale with salmon, boulder pancakes and pear with salted caramel. The royale with salmon was good but a weird combination with pancakes. The boulder vegan pancakes were a bit too salty. Sweet pancakes are amazing would recommend.
L. O.
I wanted to go to a restaurant that specializes in pancakes and I must say I chose correctly! There was a little queue when I arrived but it moved in good time. Easy to understand menu and the food arrived earlier than I expected and was pipping hot! Delicious pancake fluffy on the inside and very yummy. I will definitely be returning
D. S.
Really good pancakes!
Great variety of savoury and sweet to choose from. My tip is to head in for breakfast. It is in the Flat Iron Square complex so heading in before peak time would be best.
The Royal Pancake, coupled with some dutch pancakes is my tip.
The table prep is what they stumble on. We didn't have any condiments on the table for us (salt/pepper, sauces, etc.)
a. k.
Oh My God!!! I am so in love with this place. The setting is cosy and is always busy no matter what time you go. Went there with a friend and tried three of their pancakes because there was so much to choose from , so we decided to do Savoury, mix savoury and sweet and sweet. For the savoury I would highly recommend their Royale Pancake which has two poached eggs to perfection with the right amount of hollandaise sauce and freshly smoked salmon
If you have a sweeth tooth then do go for their famous pear caramel which is something I had never tasted in my life and the pears are done to perfection and the caramel sauce along with the frosted almonds is a winner!
will definitely visit this place again and again and you know what's the best thing about their pancakes they're extremely light and made from buckwheat so yeah I ate without feeling that much guilty to my heart's content
S. O.
Brilliant little place, great food, and very jolly and happy staff.
D. A.
Outside seating had great heaters so easily skipped the queue
R. A.
Who doesn’t love pancakes… who doesn’t love a full english… I hope you know where I’m going with this
J. R.
The food is great, the wait is not so much. This place is always, always, always busy so be prepared for at least a 40 min wait.
However, once you’re in, the menu is varied and caters to all (who knew you could do so much with pancakes?). It’s priced as you’d expect for the area - £20 if you want pancakes and a drink.
J. P.
Really great service, great choices, and most importantly delicious pancakes.
G. S.
If your in London, you need to try this place!!!! Food was amazing with really friendly staff.
A. S.
Delicous vegan options, lovely architecture but the non vegan pancakes had an unusual undertaste
m. g.
Pancakes were Delicious!!!! Great service and food!!!
T. B.
Worth the wait!
Every bite was heaven... I didn't taste anything off the menu I didn't like, even their drinks are a treat! The ingredients are fresh and unique... the most thing I loved was the owner was on the ground managing everything she is so sweet and considerate it's no wonder this place is such a success. The wait is long so come prepared to stand outside in the cold. If I would make a suggestion it would be to shelter the waiting area or add some heating. Will definitely come back for their scrumptious food and would highly recommend this place.
J. L.
We came here without reservations and were quite lucky to get seats after a little wait. I would advise booking.
Of course we ordered pancakes and they tasted good. My wife is quite a fan of pancakes and really only wished you got more.
M. C.
If you want something unique from your typical pancake place then go here! Small menu but amazingly fresh and complex ingredients. Highly recommend a shot of lime, ginger and turmeric(?) I believe. Hidden away from a busy road and a scandy indoor decor
l.
Made good use of the WalkIn app so you can queue whilst around in the local area - recommend visiting Borough Market for your foodie needs while you're here. Turn up when the app tells you your seat is becoming available, and then excellent pancakes await!
Appreciated the quality of good, savoury pancakes on offer here and the fair customisation of them allowed to suit your tastes.
Very busy on a weekend when I went, but not more than an hour and not unreasonable for the novel experience.
M. W.
A wonderful idea for a restaurant as who doesn't enjoy pancakes day and night. With both savory and sweet pancakes available, it reminds me of the popular American IHOP chain.
The food is very tasty, however it is let down by its fairly limited choices.
A fully customised pancake option would be interesting to see on the menu in the future.
The price is the biggest down fall to this quaint restaurant, as £9.50 will get you 3 pancakes and 3 pieces of bacon. Either the portions need to increase, a side needs to be added or the price reduced.
Overall a nice little place with a family friendly atmosphere (kids menu available), assuming you're happy to pay the prices.
I. P.
The best pancakes in London!!!! Totally worth the queueing, don't be discouraged if they tell you it's an hour wait, it's usually less than that. Besides, you can have coffee next door and wait for a text when your table is ready. The pancakes are to die for!
N. B.
Very different place in Southwark. Amazing collection of sweet and savory pancakes... Interesting blends of latte as well like beetroot and turmeric. Beetroot worth trying. Turmeric was bit bitter for my taste. We reached at 11. Took us 30 mins to get a table. Aim to reach before 10 to avoid long wait. Service was nice and friendly.
P. T.
Freshly made pancakes located in Flat Iron Square.
Good range of sweet and savoury choices, great for breakfast/lunch.
Casual atmosphere with friendly staff.
Not the cheapest for what you get, but worth it nonetheless.
Worth a special trip!
C. H.
What a great place! Amazing food, great drinks, lovely staff. I will definitely be back.
F. L.
Mega yum pancakes and gorgeous cocktails
M.
Top pancakes and super friendly staff 👌🏼
